Now the Humans were using Falcons! Typical trickery. But awfully bloddy trickery, as She struggled to try and get the bird off of her. She did not want to be blinded, and She flung her tail and body about in an attempt to hit the foul avian that landed on her already soiled cranium, but the large talons of the creature seemed to make it worse. She tried diving and moving about wildly, a hard move to make with a bird blocking your sight and Humans firing away....

Kuari finall lost his grip, being flung loose, but at least taking a little souvenir with him, in the ragged strips of flesh that he had acquired as the dragon tried to fling him loose, he decided to wing around back up above the dragon for another attack, again out of the sun, where he would be hardest to spot.

Darian finally let loose, firing off a clip in just over ten seconds(semi-auto, ten round clip, very fast shooting on Darians part), before reloading and repeating the proccess, he had three ready magazines, and four more in his various pockets, but once those were exhausted he would have to get a little closer to inflict some damage.

He put on a pair of electronic-noise cancelling earplugs, and went back out, wielding his lasgun. He aimed, and fired away violently at the creature, leading his shots to try and make a decent his amongst the random movements....

Talmadge joined in, firing a charged blast at the side of its head as it slithered across, causing it to scream and convulse, kicking up waves as it flew off that swamped the deck. Talmadge then ordered the other sailors to open fire on it, and this they did, pouring the combined strength of the dual lascannons and the railgun onto it.

This made the monster madder.....

Despite Her weakened condition, She began to dive under, and moved in very frenetic circles, focusing Her chi along with the powers of basic circular physics to create a small whirlpool, which She tried to enlarge....

Talmadge fell over, and said, "S**t!" as the L-1 was driven closer into the vortex. He ordered Homma to move the ship further out, and the engines roared with life as the ship crawled away, slowly. He then said, "Anybody got explosives?"

All that She could feel was that sense of unyielding burning and pain, and incessant scratching, thanks to that damned bird. She struggled, flying about and screaming, before summoning a conventional storm, bringing in at best a minor, unfocused squall due to her recent impediments, but it was wideranging, and it would hopefully do something, before diving and flying about to try to shake its trail.

And Talmadge continued to shoot with the ship's railgun, pouring fire onto the dragon, who was very much impaired and very much damaged still from the last encounter. He swore he could see wounds from the rubble, caused by the demolition of two buildings by Rei, as well as all those wounds caused by the shots, some of which were scarring over. The minor squall thrown up by the beast did make things hard to do, but it didn't stop him from fighting.

She decided to break off.....if anything, if she needed to lose her pursuers, and she needed time to heal and get her powers. Of course, escaping would be difficult too, but as long as she smelled sea salt and not gunfire or lasguns, she'd be alright.

She then took off in a random direction. Zooming as fast and low as possible, she'd hope to buy some time....

Talmadge said, "Leading us on a chase, eh? I'll give you a chase. Commander Homma, tell the L-2 and your men to follow that f**ker and pour fire!"

Talmadge said, "Aye, sir. I have a feeling that if given enough fire, and enough pursuit, we'll force her down somewhere not very far from here."

Talmadge frowned and Homma did as asked, giving chase and having his men open fire with everything. The boat's engines roared, and the surf was kicked up with the speed. Talmadge resumed attacks, firing with the railgun when possible.

Rei jumped up. "What the-, what the hell? What the HELL?!" She threw down the blanket, picked up her rifle, and flicked the charge switch while she slapped on her goggles.

"What the hell is going on?!" Shouted Rei as she saw the Dragon trying to make its way out again.

"No way... You b17c|-|!" Cried Rei as she hurriedly pressed a few controls on her wrist. Her vessel that was following close behind soared in with a huge whine, and a furious blast of wind kicked up along the deck of the ship.

Rei stood defiantly on the deck as the vessel made its way in from behind her. With the wind blowing Rei's hair around, the surf splashing up around her, and her vessel's lights for a dramatized effect, the whole scene looked like something out of a movie...

With Rei active and up, Vangu moved out of his watch position and began firing pulsar rounds at the dragon on auto-pilot, while he was busy caught in Rei's beauty, with the wind, spray, water and light combining into a perfect scene.

Darian fired three more shots, then he had to go get more ammo from his bags, and he did, bringing out ten more magazines with which to take pot-shots as they followed the fleeing monster.

Talmadge, in the midst of all this, was too busy to notice in great detail the scene unfolding behind him, as he was too busy raking the dragon with fire from his railgun. His shots joined the chorus of gunfire rising from the hunters and the sailors that hit the dragon ceaselessly, and caused it to scream and squirm, but not deviate from its path, but rather, simply go faster. Homma and his men worked the ship's engines as hard as they could to get the ship so it could catch up, but they were barely working it as it was....

By now, She could sense it was near the end. Those hunters and their damned ships had taken Her senses, they had done Her grevious bodily harm, now, they closed in for the kill. The run, which seemed to last forever, seemed to just lure them closer in, and she was paying for it, straining to keep Herself going with what now felt like a shredded rear, and with what felt like increasingly evident breathing difficulties, and pains all over.

She moved lower towards the ocean, unaware of the island of Nakadori looming ahead of her.....

He was amazed that with all the fire it was taking, it was still flying.....but with that bird clawing away at its already wounded head, and what seemed to be land looming about 200 feet ahead, it wouldn't fly long.

Darian just waited for the right moment to strike, the Dragon would have a singkle instant of vulnerability, and then the blade would come out, and the Dragon would die.

OOC: Technically, it has no wings, its a Chinese Dragon. Those kinds are reputed to fly by merely magical means.

She roared and tried moving forward much more quickly, though without one of her legs to provide steering, She began inevitably wandering towards L-1.....

Just a couple more feet and Darian coud strike, his psy-blade was ready to bite through the beasts skull and into its brain, now it just had to get close enough.

She struggled to outrun the ships, but the pain from the leg forced her to slow down even more, as She tried to rely less on it (if it was even there). Eventually, this allowed the boats to go alongside Her, and by now, Her movement towards L-1, though unintended, brought her ever closer, to the point where She was alongside the boat, unaware of the fate in store....

Darian brough the long pole up, preparing to strike, and he paused, waiting for the fatal mistake, the terminal pause that would occur just before he struck.

She pressed a few controls, and her ship began to speed towards the dragon, which now moved idly nearby...

The ship approached ramming speed, while the navi systems locked onto the beasts head...

She was moving about lazily, when She felt a shot in the neck. That was bad enough, it made it hard to breathe, but what happened next was even worse.

She then felt what seemed to be a very large and dangerous object slam onto her head, concussing Her badly. She roared in pain, and Her head was slammed down into the water and forced back up again. She felt blood all over, She was dazed even more so now than before, and as She raised Her head up, it was only about five feet from the ship and level with the ship's deck, perfect for people to jump on.....

(OOC: How about we leave it at this post until Mini get's his guy to make that vital last stab. That's the plan right? (Last post for a while, dinner.))

Darian brought his blade down, once, twice, a third time, and again, a fourth, and finally, on the fifth blow, the beasts head was severed, blood and other, less easily identified fluids soaked the water as the dragon thrashed in its death-throes, slamming the boat with its out of control movements.

Before it could drop beneath the water Kusari siezed the head and, less than gently, deposited it at Talmadges feet, then Darian fished out his climbing hook and went about the task of salvaging at least one leg from the briny deeps, he wanted a trophy, and those claws were just what the doctor ordered.

Talmadge smiled, looking at the scene. His quarry was dead, and now he had the head to prove it. The Maritime Safety people cheered at this fact, the monster that had plagued them was now dead and gone and their families could relax.

He prayed, then saying, "Well guys, want any souvenirs?"

"Ya." Vangu replied as he sliced off a foot, and sprayed it with a special goo.

Talmadge said, "What kinda goo is that?"

"It's a preservation and finishing agent." Vangu replied, "And providing it doesn't crack, it'll remain as it is forever."

Talmadge said, "Hmm. Interesting. Could I get some of that....for that?" gesturing to the dragon head.

"Sure." Vangu pulled out another bottle and tossed it to Talmadge, "I'd wear a pair of gloves if I were you thought."

Talmadge chuckled and said, "No biggie. Let me get some gloves." Producing some work gloves, he took the bottle and began applying the stuff all over the dragon's head. It was smelly, with scents of brine and blood, but the stuff went to work fast, keeping the head in nigh-near pristine condition, as Talmadge then got some of the Maritime Safety guys to clean up some of the blood.

Talmadge then said, "Nice...." before commanding to the sailors, "Back off, guys."

He then stepped back, and smiled, saying, "That's purty."

Talmadge, his interest piqued, said, "Interesting, I normally use other stuff that smells, or I let the taxidermists do it, but this is fun stuff, might save me some money."

Rei stood not too far off in the background, leaning against a door with her arms folded. She watched the two in a passive manner while they set to work hacking and slicing the once proud beast. She was somewhat disappointed by their attitude towards their fallen prey. Treating it with no respect, and indulging themselves in their own selfish pleasure.

Perhaps it was because she was Eshirian, or maybe it was the nasty knock to her head. She didn't know why, but she was disgusted by their actions, despite what was happening with her and Vangu, along with her respect for a fellow hunter, such as Tal. She did not show any of these feelings on her exterior, though they burned inside her.

She turned her head away, shoved off of the door, and slipped away to the edge of the deck on the side of the ship opposite to the others, putting her hands on the guard railing, and leaned out to the open sea. Her hair moved gently in the wind, and she became lost in deep thought.

Rei felt Vangu approaching, although she didn't outwardly react to it. She snapped out of her thoughts, and waited for him as he came near.

Talmadge walked about the ship, and eventually approached the area where Rei and Vangu were talking. Hearing that last bit, Talmadge said, "Same here. That was a very worthy foe, he'll get a place of honor."

Rei was somewhat taken back. She had been somewhat disappointed earlier about Vangu's actions towards the dragon's corpse, but what he had said just now went completely the other way... Needless to say, Rei was happily surprised by what Vangu had just said. She smiled, and looked back out at the sea. "I'm going to get off this planet somehow. My ship's trashed after smashing into that dragon thing."

Rei was thinking a bit of how she could spend a bit of time with Vangu to get to know him a bit more. His comment had restored a bit of hope in her about the type of person Vangu was, and even demonstrated that he wasn't like most of people she had met before. A very nice thing indeed...

It was exactly what Rei was wanting to hear, yet now, she wasn't so sure. It was becoming quickly apparent, even to her, that she was kind kind of girl who put on a very tough shell, but in the end was insecure about her future at heart. It wasn't something that Rei was particularly happy being. {*Sigh* Why do I feel so nervous?!} She thought to herself. On the outside, her serene expression was moved ever so slightly as she continued to look out to the ocean. She would have said "Yes." right away, if she hadn't noticed Talmadge nearby. It was something that kind of shattered the calm moment.

She turned her head back, and said in a sort of stop and go tone, "Well, I'll, I'll have to thin-." She stopped and looked up and Vangu with a smile, "Yeah, sounds good."

"It'll be a pleasure to have you aboard." Vangu replied as he watched both Rei and the ocean behind her.

"We will have to get to it thought as I can't call it up as you could." He said, happy with her acceptance of his offer.

He then said, "Okay guys, Sojiro says that there's this great place, the Sakuraba Eatery, where they serve the stuff in great quantity and great taste."

The ships docked onto the naval yard. Talmadge's prize was arranged for air shipment, and Vangu's prize...well, they let him deal with that. Talmadge got inside the waiting RV, and gunned the engine, hoping the others would get there....

It took some work fighting the infamous Japanese traffic, which drove on the left side of the road, not the right side, like Talmadge was used to driving. Looks like they hadn't switched to right-side like everybody else, Talmadge said.

He eventually parked the vehicle in a garage, and got out. He then led the party to the restaruant, where an attractive lady said, "Konnichiwa, Mr. Talmadge and Honored Guests. It seems that your comrade, Mr. Shinjumi, has arranged for seats for you, please follow me."

Talmadge then led the others, following the lady to the room where Sojiro was, with tables set up in the traditional Japanese manner, with tatami mats and a low table. Sojiro said, "Hey, Alex! Good to see you again."

A goodly portion of them did as Rei asked, in fact, one of them moved up obnoxiously close to Rei, to the point where he shoved her onto Vangu almost, thrusting a mike into her face and yelling, "Toshiro Chidori! Fuji TV! Tell us how you and your comrades killed the beast!"

Talmadge resisted the urge to shoot them, and Sojiro was yelling in vain to get them to calm down........

This did not deter the news people. In fact, it only whetted their curiosity.

He then pulled out his railpistol, and fired it off. "The crowds were brought to a quiet standstill, shocked by the brazen shot. Talmadge then said, "You're not animals, y'know," to the newsmen. "If you want to ask us questions, then line up, single file like humans."

He pointed his railpistol to illustrate his threat. The newsmen lined up, cowering in fear....

But rather than succumb to the crushing weight of the hoard, She burst out with a punch, and knocked this, "Kenji" clear out of the restaurant. "Get AWAY!!!!" Rei shouted, with an expression that spoke volumes, red faced, and all.

Of course, even this was not enough, as the reporters with their dull cow like manner, and sheep like mentality came rushing even faster yet...

With a flash, Rei formed an energy orb in her right hand, and reached for her gun with her left. The light became blinding as Rei began backing up quickly, while charging her energy all the way...

One of the reporters then yelled, "They got Kenny! Let's get them, girls!"

As the reporters surged forward, Vangu interposed himself between the 'scum of the universe' and Rei, "I believe Rei wishs you to go away." He said

One of the others said, "Man, I think he's right..."

The lead said, "Silence! Journalism bows to none! We stand!"

They then moved forward, moving into a horde now of angry cameras and mikes....they tried to shove the mike in Vangu's face, and get a response that way.

"Now, unless you want me to move onto things like your cameras, fingers, legs, and other areas," He commented, his voice and tone leaving no difficulty in figuring out what he meant by other areas, "You can turn around and leave."

....and as a result, a few of the reporters with weaker wills fled, running in terror like headless chickens. Many more stepped back a little, eyes and faces fixed in expressions of fear and surprise. But a few diehards, such as the agitator, refused to give in. The reporter said, "You broke my mike! That cost me a lot of money! I will make you pay!"

He then angrily snatched a camera and tried to attack Vangu with it.

In the back ground, Rei watched in surprise. {What was he doing? Why?} The thoughts span in Rei's mind. She may not have known it at the time, but it was clear that some gears had already clicked for her, and all of a sudden, things between her and Vangu weren't so foggy.

With energy still in one hand, and a tight pistol grip in the other, she started with an urgent gait to walk up to try and help Vangu...

The energy in her palm reached a virtual critical mass and Rei flung it at the hapless reporter. The shock would be enough to incapacitate the weak, and unarmored reporter, but it wouldn't kill him...unfortunately...

"I'm done if they are." she replied, nodding her head, motioning slightly to the mass of reporters outside.

"Ya, I'm sure they've suffered enought." Vangu replied with a grin

Talmadge said nothing, nodding and noting the comments of his fellow hunters, and chuckling silently. He then said, "Well, you know reporters, they're people too, they just try too hard like the rest of us sometimes.....and in this case, they really tried too hard."

Rei looked around as the police did their work, and the last of the reporters fled.

"Ok..." she began slowly. "That's one dinner ruined. What's next on the agenda?"

She turned to Vangu, "How about we get to that ship of yours?"

"That'd be great, hey Talmadge, mind giving us a ride?" He asked

He then left a wad of cash to pay for the various meals, and then led the crew back to the RV. Starting the engine, he began to take them to Vangu's ship.
