ooc: an IC post coming soon.
Belem
22-07-2005, 06:19
OOC: sorry for the delay in the post.
OOC2: did your guys also fire into the gatehouse?

IC: The first tower exploded in flames before the guards even knew what whas happened. The other towers quickly followed suit before the guards could respond. The ground patrols started dashing for cover trying to avoid the gunfire and falling debris. One guard made it all the way to the front door before being gunned down.

The Entry Room guards dove behind the long wooden desk withdrawing the PDKs positioned underneath the desk watching the video feed of the entryway. The blast of the flashbangs momentirally dulled the feed as the desk sargent gave the order and the three Inquisitors blindly held there guns over the desk and firing down the long audience hall in the general direction of the wall with the submachine guns firing wildly and blindly.

The control room was in a state of panic as alarm sirens were sounded first for the actual attack and then another to prepare the guards for the possible release of CS gas. The Shift Leader had a sound enough mind to hit the never used Panic Button which would send a distress call directly to the Holy Office of the Inquisition in Imperial Center. Barking orders to the other men he picked up a phone to contact HQ for Reinforcements. Two of the monitors moved to the phone lines trying to contact the other defense positions inside the prison and determinte the situation. The other two guards begin remotely locking down the doors to vital sections of the Installation(mainly to interrogation and record rooms and anything containing sensitive information.)

In the adjoining Armory the Riot Response Team begins suiting up not sure what to expect as the Shotguns are passed out to rearguard members. THe guards in the block start locking down the entries to the actual prison itself.

OOC: yea, hit the gate house.

IC: The sound of gunfire quickly and efficiently dashed all the operatives hopes that this would be a routine smash and grab. The next step was loading a forty mm concusion grenade into the grenadiers underbarrel grenade launcher and firing it into the entrance, risking the bullets from the PDK's, not much of a risk considering the range (not sure of range but a long entryhall implies at least five meters) and the relatively small bullets, the blast would deafen and further disorient anyone it didn't kill, not a perfect solution to the current problem but the best that could be done, The Soldiers followed the grenades detonation in, looking fearsome in full battle gear including chemical resistant face masks and raised assault rifles with an ugly assortment of underbarrel weapons. Outside there was a rush of preparation, the snipers readjusted their position to cover the approaches to the prison instead of the prison itself while the two heavy gunners that had been left in the courtyard set up defensive positions for both the OCSW heavy machine gun loaded with airbursting shells and the Merlin antiarmor missile loaded with a dual warhead armor piercing HE missile, entrenching against the possibility of an attack. In the air the 'Night Prowlers' were returning to the equipment that had been left behind one at a time and rearming.

The concussion grenade takes out the three guards in the entry room but they gave the command center valuable time to access the situation and remotely lock the two hallway doors leading deeper into the castle.

Using the remaining external cameras the controllers try to exert the full amount of threat to the prison while relaying the information back to HQ which was preparing to launch Choppers and a strike team(ETA-15-20 minutes.) The rest of the control group with the Riot Team was already trying to plan to set up a defense point somewhere in the hallways leading to the Prison Block.

Five guards were positioned to each of the 4 entryways to the Blocks setting up positions around the heavy metal doors that were locked by block control.

Running through the entry hall, the locked doors hardly delayed the team, quickly and efficiently rigging the blast door leading deeper towards the prison block. While the demo man was rigging explosives other operatives were checking the dead guards and the security desk for any information regarding the location of the Cesanian prisoners or other security features of the prison. Thirty seconds after begining the door was ready. Moving back to a safe distance the Demolition specialist was ready.
"Demo charge set!"
"All clear!"
"FIre in the hole!" the blaast echoed through the hall and the door flew back several feet into the next room. Followed by the special operations soldiers with weapons raised.

The counter has the typical accesories of a reception desk theres a map(OOC:The cell blocks are towards the rear of the prison about 6 doors down the hallway for either the left or right route. Some areas are absent on the map, mainly the command center and some sections of the basement where testing is done.) Some invoices for transfers of supplies that are meant to come in the next few days and prisoner transfers with no names on them just serial numbers. The guards themselves have keycards on them for operating most of the locks in the prison(ooc:useless now since the locks have been overrirded by central.)

(between doors 5 and 6 is the Prisoner Mess with this will be important later.)

The riot team makes there way from the central system to an intercept point in a T crosspoint.

The two Shotgunners stand behind them weapons over the initial shield wall and resting the shotguns on there shields. The position was chosen because it was a blind spot to anyone approaching the cells. The fully enclosed helmets of the riot team also offered them protection against flashbangs with the dark visors mitigating most of the effects of the explosives.

Yours guys would be the Zs which is the corner turn heading down the hallway Where my guys are(X) would be the turn if you wanted to enter prison block B from the outside and not from the Block control which is between the 4 blocks. The map got messed up before so I put in that wall part to get everything even.

And about 5 feet in far enough in so they dont cast shadows into the hallway and to give them protection from fragments but close enough so that shotguns will be an effective knock down device(depending on body armor the pellets probably wont kill but they would knock a person to the ground) the hallway junction only goes back another 3 feet anyway so they cant get too far back but it does allow them to fall back to another position.

And for the placement of the prisoners 1 in each block with an extra in B Block. They want to keep everyone seperate so they cant talk and plan in case they need them for more propaganda.

ooc: thats pretty much the best I could do with the map the spacing on it keeps getting screwed up when I submit the post.

But Basically your guys are going up, they turn the corner right, they will see the Metal Doors to A block about 15 feet down. To the left is another (basically unused)hallway that goes up(where my guys are) to the right and into B block. Most of the traffic goes through A Block or D block(on the other side) through the Block control hallway then into either B or C. and B and C leaves through Block Control and out A or D. The extra hallways are mainly used for mantiance and for the staff. Also in case of a riot it allows them to funnel the rioters into "kill zones"

The operatives moved carefully and silently down the hall way, using a periscope to look around the corner before moving in, they new that the alarm had gone out and that prison guards could be around any corner.
"T-junction ahead" whispered James, who was carrying the map. As the neared it, the team slowed down, Alex, the point man was the first to the junction and pulled out his periscope, looking through it into the T-junction he immediately saw the errected barrier and jumped back, colliding with Tom who was immediately behind him, knocking both soldiers onto the floor in an akward pile.
"Quick," called Tom over the radio. "Smoke round intot hat junction!" motioning Sam the grenadier to fire.
She quickly pulled a smoke round out and threw it in front of the junction. as it landed the grenade started spewing bilous green smoke designd to both obscure vision as effectively as possible and to induce fear of poison, the acrid smell was also chosen to induce the greatest fear. The Operatives had been exposed many times during training and were wearing masks that filtered out the smell. As soon as the smoke cloud was thick enough they dashed through infront of the T-junction.

ooc: for time Im assuming 30 seconds per door for rigging and an average of 30 seconds between doors with the speed probably being 20 seconds for all out runs if the hallway didnt have any open passages and 40-50 seconds if there are. So your about 8 minutes in by now.

The five choppers were airborne and dropped into the river ravine leading towards the prison. Two Nightshade Attack Choppers were in the lead, they stayed as close to the river as possible only popping up to avoid dangerous obstructions. Behind them followed another two nightshades escorting a Blackhawk with twenty Inquisitors. The pilots radios were alive with information as the prison relayed as much info as possible back to the choppers about enemy positions.

Radar installations along the coast turn there trackers inland and start scanning for the enemy choppers using ADT and LIDAR as well as conventional systems.
ETA to prison: 5-7 minutes

OOC: A Nightshade is like a Commanche on steriods. Its not as stealthy as a Commance because its biggers for a larger weapons load but its Radar Cross section makes it look more like a scout chopper(a small scout chopper) then an attack chopper.

------------

The riot team was taken aback by the deployment of smoke but they were already wearing there gasmasks since the alarm sounded for the deployment of CS. Central was monitoring the whole situation through the camera situation and chimed into the headsets "They passed through the screen, heading towards the block. Hold Position until you hear gunfire."

The five guards in block A readied themselves 10 feet back(to avoid the blowback of the door) from the door in a V formation. Most of them were kneeling except for the point position who was prone. Three of them with PDKs(point) and the other two aiming .50 cal deagles. Once the door was blown they were supposed to open up with everything they had into the passageway.

In the distance the heavy main doors to the prison slid to a close cutting off one of the few exits to the outside world.

The loudspeakers in the prison came to life: Attention intruders you are surrounded your escape routes and comrades are gone. Put down your weapons immediately and surrender. This is your last warning, If you value your lives and the lives of the prisoners you will surrender. Failure to comply will result in your deaths and the execution of all prisoners.

The 'Night Prowlers' were ready for it, armed with 4 Streaker Air to Air missiles each they dodged between trees, staying in each others radar shadow and behind hills as much as possible, in an all out head to head fight the light attack helo's would probably stand little chance against enemy chopers, so the pilots stuck to cover, running patrols around the structure with only the mast sensor systems above the skyline, seeking out the returns generated by enemy helicopters.
OOC: The 'Night Prowlers' are also like Comanches on steroids, though they go more into stealth than armament, any one of your helicopters probably has me outgunned but with the combination of Visual camo, radar camo, and the extensive LIDAR/LADAR mast mounted sensor suite, I will probably see you first and the Streaker self guided anti air missiles have the range to take a first shot.

At the cell block door, the operatives held them selves tight against the wall and away from the explosives as the Ticker the demolition expert set up his explosives. Sam lay prone in the middle of the hall with her G-11A2 assault rifle with its underbarrel grenade launcher loaded with a flashbang pointed at the center of the door. the grenade was specially designed and triggered so that after firing, when an internal laser range finder detected that it was in the room as opposed to in the hall it would activate a timer so that when the grenade was a few (Between five and fifteen) feet in, it would detonate with a blinding flash and deafening bang. Hearing the ultimatum, James quickly fired it off to the transport helicopter which had a sattelite radio set up which relayed the message to Cesanian fleet command in the theater who quickly responed with a message to the Belemian Government.

"Cesania will not halt while its citizens are held captive by a foreign nation. release all Cesanian citizens from your custody immediately or we will commence unrestricted operations against Belem."

As soon as the grenade detonated the soldiers dropped to prone and began firing throught he brolen doorway.

As the mesage went out, the four Leviathan class Arsenal ships readied their missiles for launch.
Several sections of the Belem coast had been designated as prime landing points except for the wall and mines. it wa time to fix that problem. each of the twelve designated landing sites was targetted by one of the Arsenal Ships. And with the order to fire came immediate action. From each ship, forty plooms grew almost immediately, tipped by the fearsome spikes of Velan type standoff weapons. fired by their rocket boosters to ignition speed for the SCRAMJET thrusters the missiles quickly hit mach six and drove straight towards their targets, ten to each landing site, the missiles came in low in sea skimming mode, just high enough off the water to avoid hitting the beach.

ooc: How far off the coast are the cessanian ships and how many ships are there total?

ooc2: your guys were heading towards prison Block A and not the control room(its not on the map) and to get to Block Control you have to go through atleast one block. Also the prison block is really long(125 cells on each side about 60 on each floor with 2 floors) even at only 5 foot wide cells thats about 300 feet for the grenade.

I'll hold off posting on an IC if you want to revise your post.
Cesania
26-07-2005, 05:34
OOC: Oops, misread that, Well, A flashbang will incapacitate everyone lacking ear and eye protection and ample warning in a pretty large room. so it doesn't have to travel 300 feet to the end of the prison block, it just has to get through the remains of the door and maybe ten or so feet passed that, I'll edit my post a little though. and your people are only ten feet from the door anyway (ouch, just thought about that, even ear protection might not help.)

And my ships are about 100 kilometers away from Belemian sovereign waters at about the center of the coastline.

BTW: If you have a map of your country that would be nice Incase I end up having to invade (or if some one else wants to invade)

OOC: sorry for the late post. Also I'll be setting up a geocities site tonight for the map. I'll post a link either tonight or tommorow afternoonish.

IC: The Nightshades knew from the intel reports enemy choppers were in the area and they werent taken chances. The Blackhawk and an one of the escorts hung back from the main group with the blackhawk touching down in a clearing by the ravine. The other three nightshades continued ahead holding close to the river and the cliff face. The pilots knew there best chance of detection lied in ADT and Thermal Scopes no matter how stealthy an object is it will always be hotter then the surrounding area.

At 1.5 miles from the prison they executed a wild weasel. The lead chopper hops the cliff hard anf fast banking left away from the the cliff and the prison. Its the bait, drawing enemy fire and giving its wingmates a target to fire on while trying to distract any incoming weapon systems. Seconds later it was followed by the second and third chopper, going right and going straight up respectively waiting for the target to reveal itself.

---------

The Pointman didnt stand a chance the flashbang detonated right in his face before his body was punctured by dozens of bullets. The other guards despite there helmets and visors(thanks to the gasmasks) were also heavily disoriented, the two men at the edges were the least effected and might be able to offer some resistance to an incoming attack. Another Inquisitor(middle right) goes down from the fire but there formation allows them some protection from the gunfire.

As the flashbang and gunfire are heard the riot team reacts. Still crouching low they make a right angle turn around the corner into the remaining smoke(proven to be non lethal by the enemies passage) the two shotgunners behind them each firing the first shots of the engagement at what they would estimate to be chest/torso level for the intruders at the end of the hall(about 10 feet) the three assault gunners open up low staying in a crouch behind the shieldwall.

---------

OOC: I'll hold off on posting casualities for the wall till you can see the map and decide where you want to attack.

As soon as the men form the ambush were spotted by the rear guard, the team flew into action, The five 'point' operatives including the Grenadier were already int he cell block taking care of the guards while the rear five swivelled and began firing into the approaching enemy while backing throught he door. The operative combat armor offered decent protection from shot guns early intot he gun fight but if the the guards got too close then the shotguns would rip through the armor easily. To keep that from happening the operatives kept up a hail of fire from their full caliber rifles.

OOC: How many guards exactly were in the ambush and what were they armed with? Was it just shotguns or did they have any SMGs or machine pistols or Deagles or anything like that.

28-07-2005, 19:42
OOC: Riot team is the front three guys are using OICW Assault rifles(NATO standard rounds) and they are firing low mainly at the legs the rear two guys are shotgun mainly they are there for suppressing fire since a shotgun blast wont actually hurt a guy with body armor but can knock him down.

heres a link to the Map. Im going to add in the interior cities soon but this will give you a general idea.

Military Actions
Moorish Heavy Armor starts up for a very wide but shallow pincer move to take one of the major border towns. At the moment no Moorish forces have officialy crossed the border but some Special Directive units have crossed the border by any means to get near and in the prison camps to help the regulars to get the prisoners out.

Civilian Actions

The Moorish economy is feeling the temporary boost and euphoria of having their armed forces invading another country and of the special contracts being made for to build more the armed forces of the Commonwealth.

The five 'rear guard' operatives put up a withering hail of 6.8spc (the three cesanians) and 7mm caseless (mondoth's two operatives in the rear guard) Underbarrel weapons included shotguns and 25mm grenades (Like the OICW, a home grown variant of which is my main infantry rifle) The rear guard attempted to back through the door to the relative safety but on the way three operatives were, one took a shotgun blast full to the chest and was thrown back against the wall while the other two took leg hits from the riot guards carbines and went down. The operatives that made it through started laying down covering fire will the door was erected as a makeshift barrier to crouch behind.

IC: The ballistics shields managed to absorb most of the rounds but the constant barrage took a toll on the shields. One of the shotgunners takes a shot to the face and falls to the ground dead while the other takes a hit to the shoulder, he would live but is useless in this battle. The lead three coruched guards withdraw to the side corrider firing sporadically at the Cessanian forces before go back around the corner. They discard the now useless and battered shields and start double timing it towards B block.

The firefight bought time for the other guards to relocate to the inner doors to Block Control which seemed to be the most likely avenue of attack now.

The SOldiers retrieved the wounded and patched them up as fast as possible, the injured soldiers wouldn't be able to keep up with the remaining operatives but would at least be able to get back to the entrance where they could bolster the defenders of the teams escape route. ooc: I think I said there were about 200 prisoners in the prison currently so there would be about 50 in this block. Though most of them would be in no position to actually offer an resistance theres a reason why the average life expectancy is 3 months without a traditional execution.

they would find one of the cessanians in this block. The only would be treated well because you want them to look healthy when executed.

-----------

As the cell doors are blown block control begins releasing the CS gas dispensers into Block A to incapcitate the newly released inmates, to prevent them from running lose, those that could run that is.

The guards in the other blocks prepare at the doors to the Shared hallway between all four blocks waiting to execute a new plan of attack against the intruders. All the doors to the shared hallway are locked down currently.

OOC: The shared hallway is the central connecting block at the bottom wall is the circular outcroppping with Block Control is seperated by bullet proof glass and its own door(not connected to the block but a different central hallway.)

OOC: Sorry 'bout not posting ont he helo's I was more concerned with inside the prison.

IC: The Operatives continued on in much the same way as before to the next cell block, blowing in doors and following flashbang grenades into rooms. The CS incapacitation of the few able bodied prisoners was unfortunatebut the troops themselves were equiped with as masks and accumulated hours of CS and other tear gasses exposure that allowed them to continue moving relatively freely.

The helicopter pilots were much to well trained and even more low on fuel to be chasing anything that would not immediately affect their mission. a lone helicopter darting away from their area of responsibilty would be a foolish thing to chase under these circumstances. Normally of course it would be part of their objectives to destroy the helicopter before it could go anywhere, but normally there would be a pair of helicopters ready to take of their normal mission while they were doing it, and normally practically unlimited fuel was minutes away. Here they would have barely enough fuel to make it out. if the mission lasted much over the alloted time they would have to drain the fuel from the light attack helo's and destroy them. That and the fact that leaving their patrol area would leave the operatives in the prison wide open for an attack kept them in their place, waiting for the attack that couldn't be more than minutes away.

OOC: Sorry, work is crazy, first they want me to warl late, then they don't need me, then they can't live without me its crazy, should be calming down now.

So whats to keep my operatives from blowing the glass with explosixes or something and then taking control of the block control center?

OOC: Should be getting back to a regular schedule now.

IC: As the operatives checked the next room they almost immediately noticed the glass panneling revealing the block control center. After a short pause Captain Michigan began issuing commands. Almost immediately the demo. specialist was rigging a small charge to blow the glass in. as that was going on the rest of the team took up positions. Three soldiers got set to lay down covering fire while two got ready to jump the counter and seize the control center while the rest of the soldiers staid in position on the doors incase more guards attacked.
