Trafa nodded.

"Probably why he's there. It's a big and bad Universe out there, so we'll probably do our best to help out. I heard he's going to offer the Queen the chance to join BETAC." Trafa said, slightly proud.
"BETAC?" The Drow's eyes narrowed suspicously.

He then turned to Sergei.

"That is interesting and unusual."

"I have to keep my opiunions from affecting my perceptions of allies or possible allies, as long as you were land bound I could give my prejudices free reign, now I must stop and think, it is not good to anger a possible ally with an inappropriate comment, I truly apologise for myt actions before, I am in your debt for you not killing me for my indescretions."

"New cultures to meet, and take care to not offend. Some so hostile that they will declare war unprovoked. Kaymiril, despite having a number of allies, and good men to fight for her, is not a nation accustomed to war. Now, while there are new allies to be found...there are also new enemies."

"Its quite true" butted in Tylas. "Our nation opened up to the infinite universe only a while ago also, and there was an almost instant attempt from another nation on taking ours. Luckily, in that small window we had already formed a poweful alliance and were able to stop this, but what you said is absolutely true." He finished by saying "But thats the part about life, taking risks"

Trafa laughed a bit.

"Don't worry. BETAC just ensures that we're in our legal rights to assist Kaymiril. Basically, we consider you one of us, even though you aren't, if you get that."

Major Konig heard this as he walked past,"You shouldn't need legal rights to help them... you just should. Snake Eaters has been doing it without any treaty for three years"

Trafa shrugged at the new man.

"Don't ask me, I'm not a buerocrat. I think it has something to do with the fact that Outer Heaven can't give assistance to Nations that aren't their own. Some of OH's enemies view it as an act of war apparently."

Trafa shrugged again.

"But as I said, I'm a soldier, not a buerocrat."

"I'm a solider too, and you want to be careful. Politics and solidering are entertwined. Politics dictates a soliders enemy. And watch the tone, or I'll have the Colonel all over you"

Iliyakim nearly choked on the bite he was about to swallow, and started coughing.

"If I said that I expected that to come out of your mouth in my lifetime, I'd be a liar."

"Its quite true" butted in Tylas. "Our nation opened up to the infinite universe only a while ago also, and there was an almost instant attempt from another nation on taking ours. "We would not be in space yet if not for our alliance with Snake Eaters, Balrogga, and Warhaven. The world is cold enough...but the universe?"

Trafa laughed a bit.

"Don't worry. BETAC just ensures that we're in our legal rights to assist Kaymiril. Basically, we consider you one of us, even though you aren't, if you get that."
"I understand it. Know now, though, that Kaymiril will not be a protectorate, of any nation. We appreciate our allies, but we are also very independent."

19-08-2005, 00:31
Trafa looked up.

"I apologise if I used a 'tone', as you call them. I meant no insult, I was just expressing my view on BETAC. It's a great constitution, fair for all, I just hate that we have to use it all the time with our allies. Technically, most people in this Universe to us are Serpantians."

Sergei couldn't resist, "The Long Haul, it was great, you'll love it."

Trafa looked around.

"So, what was your 'favourite' part of training?" He asked Iliyakim.
Iliyakim almost shot Sergei a dirty look.

"Probably the first morning. That or the interrogation, one of the two. And while Sergei may have loved the Long Haul...Drow aren't built for that sort of activity."
Outer Heaven MK II
19-08-2005, 01:06
Trafa shrugged.

"We can carry weights and run long distances, but Brutus are above trying to 'show off'. The Interrogation I would agree with, your mind cannot take as much as the body."

Trafa shrugged.

"We can carry weights and run long distances, but Brutus are above trying to 'show off'. The Interrogation I would agree with, your mind cannot take as much as the body."
"Ah, I misunderstood. The least favorite part...would have had to have been the Long Drag, yes. The interrogation was not difficult...I have been trained in ignoring torture and not giving into interrogation."
Outer Heaven MK II

Trafa nodded.

"Even so, interogation and torture are not nice things to endure."

"No Comment." Sergei was barely restraining his laughter at the new guys, "show off"!!! Hah, he loved showing off, and he barely made it to the end, these guys had balls, he'd give em that, but not much lse.
Kaymiril
19-08-2005, 01:17
Trafa nodded.

"Even so, interogation and torture are not nice things to endure."
He shrugged. "In a recent war, I was run through by an enemy's sword. I bear the scar. Fortunately for me, my commanding officer forced me to go seek medical aid...or we would not be having this conversation."

He shrugged. "In a recent war, I was run through by an enemy's sword. I bear the scar. Fortunately for me, my commanding officer forced me to go seek medical aid...or we would not be having this conversation."

Trafa raised an eyebrow.

"Interesting, although I can't say I've had the same problem. In our most recent war, I was as close to the enemy as you could get, which is about 5KM away."

Trafa then shrugged.

"Many of the wars Outer Heaven has are very impersonal. I'll quote some odds. The chances of being hit by the enemy generally on the battlefield is onw in two hunded. The chances of being hit by a shell or whatever long range ground weapon is one in seventy. Chances of being killed by Friendly fire from behind is one in thirty. And the chances of me being killed by a Starship crashing into the planet are one in one hundred and twenty seven. I have more chance of being killed by one of our ships falling, or being shot in the back from friendly fire, than actually dying at the hands of the enemy."
Kaymiril
19-08-2005, 09:43
"Getting hit by friendly fire does seem a significant risk. I can honestly say that the only time there was a worry of that is when Snake Eaters recently aided us in a recent war. We were fighting another army of Drow. That's actually the one I bear that particular scar from."
Outer Heaven MK II
19-08-2005, 09:51
Trafa nodded his head.

"So, why did you join SESOU? What interest does your government have with the programme?"
Kaymiril
19-08-2005, 09:55
"I joined...because I was ordered to. Kaymiril and Snake Eaters have grown very close over the years. In part, I think the Colonel wanted a Drow along for this experiment...and in part, my government wanted to see what an experiment could do. I am a highly trained soldier, and have been...modified...to be stronger and have more stamina than a Drow was born to be. Under Kaymirilian law, no citizen can be forced into an experiment. Also under Kaymirilian law, no citizen may be executed. Therefore...criminals are not citizens."
Outer Heaven MK II
19-08-2005, 09:58
Trafa nodded at this.

"What kind of things do you specialise in?" He asked.
Kaymiril
19-08-2005, 09:59
"I've been a soldier for two hundred years...and one of the elites, at that. There is nothing I do not specialize in."
Outer Heaven MK II

"Can you sneak into an Enemy Fortress, sabotage it, and assasinate the General there without being caught?" He asked.
Kaymiril
19-08-2005, 10:01
"I've done it three times."
Snake Eaters
19-08-2005, 10:03
As they were talking, a voice came over the tannoy,"All students, report to the training ground."

As this happened, the Directing Staff (DS') all stood up, and moved away quickly. Six of them, all highly trained soliders. Two of them were women, one with long coppery hair, the other with short brown hair. It was a stark contrast, but this group seemed to transcend words. They didn't need them
Kaymiril
19-08-2005, 10:05
Iliyakim stood up, stretching slightly.

"Well, sounds like us. Inthuul, stop pestering Sergei and come on."

A silver "crab" that had been poking at Sergei for the last few minutes ran up the Drow's shoulder and settled into an shoulder plate.
Outer Heaven MK II
19-08-2005, 10:06
Trafa raised an eyebrow.

"A jack of all-trades, quite rare in my Nation. I'm more suited for the role of Covert Ops, so HALO'ing into an enemy forest, making it to the target by down, and destroying it. My friend Zarbus however, is much more suited for the role of Assasination and Subterfuge. He's quite small, so I can see how he fits the role."

"Thank you Iliyakim, I didn't want to get out the fork again, but I wasn't sure what to do about it." He grinned when he said it, since his decision he was already more relaxed around the Drow.

He then got up and headed for the doors, and the Training Ground that lay beyond that.
Kaymiril

When the Drow got there, he merely stood, arms folded, waiting for whatever came next.

When all the students were assembled, Cougar stood in front of them,"Question. Where is Major Konig, out there?"

He gestured behind him, at the area of scrub grass and sparse woodland

Curse this light. It makes it ever so much more difficult to switch to infrared vision.

He narrowed his eyes, looking for the correct heat reading. When that didn't work, he let his eyes readapt to normal light.

What didn't feel like it was supposed to be there?

Not there...no...no...there.

He inclined his head toward the area that made him the most uneasy. "There."

Trafa focused as best he could. He was better trained at this, and so Zarbus didn't pipe in when Trafa said, alongside Iliyakim, "There." He pointed to the spot Iliyakim also specified.

19-08-2005, 21:16

Fen had been avoiding the others, training in the gym, as well as spending time on the range with his bow. He'd assembled when called, and had begun searching out for the Major, but rather than looking in concealed positions far away, he looked in open spots nearby.

"I need a definate answer from each one of you"
Kaymiril
20-08-2005, 08:15
"Inthuul, blynar kl'ae."

The 'shoulder plate' shifted, with some of it remaining on his shoulder, but some oozing up his neck and onto his face, covering his eyes.

He looked around, now able to see UV and IR as well as the normal human spectrum of color. This might help...but then again, it might not.
Snake Eaters
20-08-2005, 08:17
Iliyakim would see a number of very likely areas, which had increased heat over the surrounding area. However, it was difficult to tell if there were just normal patches of hot earth, or if it was the Major
Kaymiril

"Seven places from which to choose..."

He narrows his eyes, focusing.

Where...

"Inthuul, xun udos inbal folbol ulu ragar rivven?"

Brrt.

"Watch your tone."

One and seven are two hot...but four and three are too cool. Three places...three from which to choose.
Outer Heaven MK II
20-08-2005, 10:55
Trafa looked around. Naturally, all Brutus could see into the Ultraviolet spectrum, and after a few moments, Trafa found a couple of spots that weren't right, according to his vision, and weren't making him feel very easy.

If only this guy hadn't dulled his scope...if he even has a weapon

"I have two places in which I want to choose from sir."
Snake Eaters
20-08-2005, 16:21
"Fair enough, what about the rest of you? I'm assuming you are all just guessing"
Theao
20-08-2005, 16:37
"I have two places also sir." Fen replied
Kaymiril
20-08-2005, 18:31
"I have three...there." He pointed to a spot distant from where he had previously guessed.

I couldn't have hidden in spot two, and spot five just doesn't seem right. So spot six.
Outer Heaven MK II
20-08-2005, 19:17
Trafa shrugged.

"My vision tells me that spot there seems a little more vacant of plant and animal like than it should," He said, pointing to a spot nearby, "But my instincts and my vision also tell me that spot is odd." And Trafa pointed to the same spot Iliyakim pointed to.
Snake Eaters
20-08-2005, 19:33
Cougar rose an eyebrow,"I see... alright, Sergei, what about you? Tylas? Fen, an exact location?"
Theao
20-08-2005, 19:40
"The first location is there," Points to the most obvious hiding spot, "And the second is over there." Fen said as he pointed backward toward the buildings.
Snake Eaters
20-08-2005, 20:29
Cougar noted both these positions, a slight smile on his face, but it was uncertain as if this was a smirk of how wrong Fen was, or how close he might have been... no-one was certain, for otherwise his expression was unreadable

21-08-2005, 04:51
Tylas wanted to attempt to get this one. He was going all or none. He decided to look for spaces in the place in front of them where a body could be positioned, without giving away He thought of something else, though. "Could Konig possibly be wearing a disguise?" he asked.
Snake Eaters
21-08-2005, 09:22
"He's a sniper, he doesn't diguise himself. He camoflagues his appearance very well, as befits his position. So, in answer to the question, no"
Theao
21-08-2005, 09:30
Fen waited for the location to be revealed, or as he more likely suspected, for the one who's guess was most incorrect to be shot by either a paint-ball, stink-pellet or someother similar.
Mini Miehm
21-08-2005, 14:38
Cougar rose an eyebrow,"I see... alright, Sergei, what about you? Tylas? Fen, an exact location?"

"Not the first point Iliyakim gravitated to, perhaps over there?" He points at a spot west of the one Iliyakim chose, he senses something not natural abut the land there, like there was a disturbance in the natural flows of energy, the kind made by a man in hiding.
The Cleansed Ones

"He's a sniper, he doesn't diguise himself. He camoflagues his appearance very well, as befits his position. So, in answer to the question, no"

"well then" answered Tylas; "He is to that spot directly to the right of the one Sergei just made." The reason for this was that there was an odd looking patch of not completely real looking grass, which could have possibly be part of a camoflauge.
Snake Eaters
21-08-2005, 20:17
Cougar, having noted all the spots that these poeple thought his friend was hiding, nodded as the final one came in,"All right, let's see what the actual answer is. Eagle Eye, this is Snake. Take the shot"

There was a brief pause, with no audible response, before a shot rang out from somewhere. There was a sound of bullet hitting metal from just behind them. Then, a figure dropped from the tree above just to the left of where Iliyakim had pointed. It had a weapon in it's hands, and waved over. Cougar nodded, and turned back to his students,"Lesson one, war is fought in a three hundred and sixty degree battlefield. And that is also true of it in any direction. A bullet can come from anywhere... being able to spot the enemy first will give you the greatest advantage."

"Now, the point in this exercise was to show you what sort of level of camoflague you will be taught to use every time. Now, your first field task is to go out there, and you have fourty five minutes to camoflague yourselves. Do not proceed past the red markers. Go"
Theao

"It appears I was way off base." Fen commented to himself as he headed into the field. He entered the area and began searching for an optimum place of concealment.

Tylas jogged out to a small enbankment, where he began stringing vines and leaves together and smearing himself with mud. he stepped out a bit, to see where all possible vantage points where people could see him were.the enbankment shielded 2 of 4 sides of him, so he knew where he would put the most cover. The trick was to do this by blending in to everything around him, so he began covering himself with the reeds growing around him as well. His plan was to make himself not look like a bump in the hill, that would be noticed immediatly, so he scooped some of the dirt out so when he lay flat, it looked simply like the hill had a slightly thicker overgrowth.
Theao
21-08-2005, 21:32
Fen had made sure to cross and re-cross a small stream he'd found, the better to make it harder to find him.

He then found a partially uprooted tree, that had fallen against an evergreen, coating himself in mud/dirt and pine needles, he climbed the tree, and settled into the denses branches as well as laying on a larger limb, which unpleasently placed him in the middle of a large pool of sap.

Trafa and Zarbus leapt into action as soon as they were allowed to. Sprinting low across the ground, Trafa dived into some bushes in the middle of the course. Not wasting any time, Trafa felt the ground below him.

It's slightly damp, I just need to apply some more water....

Pulling out his water bottle, Trafa covered the ground around him in water, and then expermentally pressed his foot down.

Excellent...

Replacing his bottle, Trafa pulled some of the wet soil from the ground beneath him and covered his face and put it in his hair. Patting it, and making sure it stuck, Trafa began pulling out clumps of soggy soil, and applying it liberally across his body. A few minutes after, he was covered, from head to toe, in brownish soil. Easing himself into the hole he created, Trafa smiled as he applied some soggy soil loosely around him. He had buried himself, kneeling, waist down. Well, not buried. He looked like he had, but the soil was loose, and easy to break out of. Sticking his hand down into his holster, Trafa pulled out his Hunting Knife, and put it next to him. Retracting his arm, and re-applying the soil, Trafa took the Knife, flipped it so it's blunt side was facing away from him. He pointed the blunt-side upward slightly, to ensure that no light could properly reflect off the knife, and waited...

_________________________________________________________________

Meanwhile, Zarbus had lept into a tree far off on the course. This one wasn't as high as the one next to it, but it didn't matter. He looked at both trees, and made sure they were the same species. Once he did that, he pulled out his hunting knife, and began stripping large chunks of bark off the side of the tree. After a few minutes, across a branch of the tree, were chunks of bark.

Stabbing the knife in deep, and creating a small hole, Zarbus pulled the small cork he'd made, and looked inside.

Sap...

Shoving his hand in, Zarbus began applying sap all over his body, the top of his head, legs and shoes. Grinning, he began slapping on the chunks of bark, and ten minutes afterward, Zarbus looked like a moving tree, everywhere but the eyes and the holes in his nose and some of his mouth covered in bark.

Sprinting off the branch, Zarbus flew through the air for a few seconds, grabbed a lower branch of the larger neighbouring tree and flipped up into the higher branches. Climing, Zarbus reached the last few set of branches, the leaves above him. Backing against the tree, Zarbus wrapped his arms around the tree backwards. The camo was put on carefully, to ensure that all the lines in the bark were facing the right way. With five minutes to go, Zarbus sighed, and waited...

OOC: I got a message from Kaymiril, I'll read it out:

Hi, my dad didn't pay the internet bill so I'm out until it is paid. Snake Eaters can have my charaters but I'd appreciate if you waited for me. It should only be a few days until I'm back.

As such, I'm not going to take control of Iliyakim. It should only be a few days. We shall wait.

IC:

Sergei ran out to the field, set a pair of cratering charges, and moved on as they detonated, amking a very obvious hiding spot, that would be very unoccupied. Instead he used his optical camoflague Chameleon suit and a bit of technical trickery to keep himself hidden, buttoning up the seals ad keeping every bit of body heat trapped within the suit, making him safe from IR and most other non-viosible light spectrums, while he used his minimal Earth-Sense to conceal his presence.

Iliyakim watched the other members of this 'class' run off, half amused at Fen's running around in circles, and mildly disgusted by the liberal smearing of grime that others applied to themselves.

There is a sphere of opportunity. Some, like thier supposed ancestors, take to the trees. Others take to the ground. However...my ancestors come from below ground...and as such...

The Drow had been looking around a sand pit. The sand was fairly loose, so he was considering it as a good spot. He'd found stone only a foot beneath this sand, but upon rapping on it, found that it was only a few inches thick...after which it was hollow.

It had also sounded like it went on for a distance. In other words...a tunnel.

Suddenly, he put his foot down and immediately scrambled backwards to avoid being sucked in.

A sinkhole...

"Inthuul, kyorl lu'oh charnag ol gos."

The Thalack burrowed down into the sinkhole, soon surfacing.

Not quite three feet deep... The report went on And several tunnels. Most excellent.

He took a few minutes to arrange the rest of the sand pit as he'd found it, then slid down into the sinkhole, positioning himself in a tunnel, where he could hide after making a shot. IF I ever needed to do this.

He had Inthuul become a mask, which would allow him both to breathe and to see, and then ducked his head under. The Thalack's camo ability would allow the part of the mask which allowed Iliyakim to see to take on the appearance of sand.

A fortunate breeze thickened the sand of the sinkhole, allowing Iliyakim's head to remain out of sight.

To the outside observer, there was the field, which had sustained damage at Sergei's hand such an obvious manuver, the stream, which had some of Fen's footprints still on the banks, the trees, and the sand pit.

Perhaps he would be found.

Perhaps not.

All there was to do was to wait and see.

As the charges went off, the demolitionist of Alpha Team looked up,"Who do you reckon that was?"

C -- "Most likely Sergei"

Dem -- "Why?"

C -- "Because only he would think we'd look where an explosion happened"

The teams spread out, looking for all of the trainees. It would be a miracle if none of them had left marks of some sort. Tylas had left a nice patch of mud where he had smeared himself, giving them their first clue. Although his place was well constructed, it still gave off less heat at that time of day, because he had pulled things from the shade. This made him easy to spot using thermal goggles. One member of the team pulled back the canopy, pointing a weapon at him,"Gotcha"

Fen was different. Although he had crossed the stream many times, he still left tracks on each bank, along with the heavy silt that had collected on his boots had formed a perfect trail to his hiding place. Footsteps ending on the tree, followed by smears of silt on the trunk, gave him away pretty quickly

Tylas mentally smacked himself. He realized his mistake just when he was caught. The grass would be at a completely different temperature! "yeah yeah, you got me" he agreed. He would have to make sure to keep more of an open mind, next time.

Sergei was obviously unaware of a few things. First off, although his suit prevent heat escaping, it did not stop absorbing heat, and thus would prove to be warmer than the surrounding area, unless of course he was very lucky. Secondly, the teams hunting them had expierence with optic camoflague. No one used it in any of SESOU's branches, because although it made them 'invisible', there was still distortion surrounding the wearer, making them obvious to the trained eye. As it was, Cougar and Tyler, having circled round as a pair on their own after finding Fen, came up behind him, as silent as the grave (to human ears... and pretty damn quite to Drow ears as well, working with them redefined stealth), and rested the cold barrel of the weapon on the back of his head,"Cak Cak, you're dead"

"It's clever, I'll give you that... still, they've left a masssive trail"

Wolf sniffed the air, and grinned. The soil in this particular area had a pungent aroma when disturbed, and her enhanced sense of smell picked one of the Brutus up right away. Looking down, she saw where he was and the idea behind what he was doing... she'd come close to missing him altogether. Still,"You're dead. Get back to base"

The second proved slightly more difficult, having hidden in a tree. But, for all of his camoflague, his body heat stuck out like a sore thumb against the relatively cool bark of the tree.

<snip>
Iliyakim had centuries more expierence than everyone else, and so it was assumed he would be the most difficult to find. They weren't wrong. His heritage had drove him underground, of that they were certain... but where was another matter. It was known that there were tunnels underneath the field... there had to be, it made for highly convincing exercises if the enemies could arrive almost anywhere. Still, they searched a great deal longer for him than for the others. Eventually, it was Cougar, Tyler and Wolf who found him in the sinkhole. Having passed by once, and noticing some odd marks in the sand. Although he's tried to make it more natural, helped by the wind, there were still marks from where he had slid into the sinkhole. Tyler pointed his weapon at the hole, as did Wolf. Cougar then called out,"Come out, Iliyakim. You gave us the best run, games over"

OOC: Enhancements, plus suit systems, I'm not letting you get him THAT easily, this should be the fun part, SpecOps tracking a brush hunter in his preferred type of territory.

IC:

"Click click. You missed..." The voice came from the left, a speaker embedded in a tree, he had gotten lucky and had heard them coming, barely, but he heard them, a scuff of feet on stone and dirt was all the warning he got, but it was enough to let him move, moving was dangerous, they might see him as he moved, but he did not want to be caught so easily, he had left his suit, inflated with air, and was now making his way back toward his earlier "hiding spots", it was unlikely he would make it, but he felt he should try.

OOC: I'm sorry... what? How can a suit be inflated with air... how did he inflate it with air? What exactly is stopping it from escaping, and how did he inflate it so damn quickly? They must have already been on top of him by that point. Why couldn't you just do what everyone else does and just accept it? You've just defeated the whole point of the exercise... it was to stay hidden, not to E&E... camoflague was the name of the game, not if you could stay one step ahead... that comes later.

And don't go on about how 'this is what they would do in real life', alright? You say you want to join the American Army? Heres news for you, pal, I want to join the British Army, so I have taken the liberty to put the research into all of this. If you want to undermine me and constantly destroy what I am trying to create, then you have no place here. This is a final warning. Either play by the rules, and simply accept it and learn from it, or don't play. It's simple.

IC: The shot was instant, and had it been real, it would have been fatal. Sergei had been a fool to actually start moving. To stay where he was would have resulted in his being captured, true. But now that he started moving, the point of the exercise was defeated. Thus, the rules no longer applied. As it was, the paintball hit him square over the heart with enough force behind
it to stop him dead in his tracks. Konig threw the bolt back, loading another cartridge into the breech of the weapon,"Come on, give me an excuse to pull the trigger"

OOC: Just to clarify. When conducting shooting exercises (or in this case, disciplining someone), SESOU uses paint rounds. Essentially, they are a normal round with a paintball-esque bullet in the casing. So, instead of actually killing you, it paints you and leaves you with a nice bruise.

OOC: Chameleon suits are posessed of integral inflation devices, the seals keep air from escaping, the device is for inconvenient things like falling in water that is too fast or deep to be swum effectively, it can be manually activated, and it has to inflate quickly, or else it's useless.

The main issue here though, is a m,istake on my part, I thought we were allowed to try and avoid capture, I can either change it, delete it, leave, or go with my mistake, your choice.

Also, I know how America does it, it is rather similar to this, for this part at least, and I did not intend to argue on that basis. That only works on civvies.

Iliyakim gathers a pile of wood, then twigs. He gets nothing larger around than the size of his wrist...not a good idea to leave embers too long.

Fen tested the water to make sure it wasn't highly silty or anything, and once he'd made sure it was good, filled the pots and began to return to the camp.

Iliyakim had a fire started, and was starting to set up an apparatus to put pots over the fire.

Good thing about dry wood -- little to no smoke.

Fen set the water pots down as Iliyakim worked on the fire.
Kaymiril

Trafa and Zarbus entered their seperate 'tents'. They found a canvas tent, a roll up mat and a sleeping bag to sleep in, a rifle and a pistol, and then some rations and something to cook them with.

Both of them grinned, and personalised their 'tents', mocing things around a little, setting them out neatly and ready for use, save for the rations and the hexi-cookers. Trafa emerged from his 'tent', his nose smelling burning. He had his rfle slung over one shoulder, the pistol in his holster, along with his hunting knife.

"I smell burning, are you guys cooking?" He asked.
Theao

"I'll get mine then," He said. Turning, he said over his shoulder, "Oh yeah, good going earlier Fen."

Better than what the Army gives us...

Thank you. Operative Jason Montag is en route via teleporter.

Jason Materializes. He is holding a small package for one of the comanders containing a letter about him and other information from the advisory general. He wears a pair of black sunglasses, a brown trench coat, and a pair of jeans held up by a belt. Probably the most surprising thing about him is his age. he is 15.

He walks towards the base...

When inside, he waits for an officer to find him. He starts disabling his weapons. He Removes the Type 08 AOR from his sling, hands over his pistol and knife. He sits down to wait.

ooc: G2g. I'll try to get on at school if I can.

The new operative was treated no different to any other, for their commander, despite being 33, had started SESOU at the same age. They took the weapons, and hurried him through all the testing.

((OOC: Again, you've arrived as the others are eating))

Cougar was just finishing up his own rations, having cooked on a wood fire, along with the other instructors, when the new cadet approached. He'd taken some time to read the file... what surprised him most was the age. He'd gotten through at the age of sixteen, and he'd been fighting for ten years by that point. He stood up,"Evening. Nice of you to join us"

IC: Cougar was quick to point out a few things. Firstly, he was a colonel. Now, in SESOU, people never saluted. They called each other their ranks, or 'Sir' or 'M'arm'... only when you graduated did you earn the right to call them by their first names. He also made it quite clear that if he ever saw the khukri drawn in anger, or with intent to harm anybody in the unit, they would be ejected immediatley

To whom it may concern:

We have sent our top operative from the checkmate project. We are not only sending him to be trained, but to see if the Combat implants can record new information as it is presented. to further his training, we have disabled most everything that we could disable on his implants. Things left on were Low-level light adjusting, heat reading (for his body only), pain resistance, Extra Adrenaline and Endorphins, and certain safety net features. Permit him to keep his wristwatch at all times. It is necessary for him to have it in order to function. His sunglasses may be confiscated from him, but do not tamper with them. If he proves hard to deal with, do not hesitate to beat (or other equivilant to beating) or, in extreme cases, incapacitate him.

Trafa raised an eyebrow at the newcomer, but said nothing.

He's young, but age determines nothing. Size matters not either...

Trafa finished eating his ration, wiped his mouth, and grinned.

"This is alot better than the food we get back home." He said, looking in the general direction of Iliyakim.

"my name is Jason Montag. Nice to meet you."
He firmly shakes Fen's hand.

Trafa grinned at this.

"So kiddo, tell me, what military experience have you had?"

Jason smiled. He liked telling this story.

"When I was 10, some soldiers came to my orphanage and did a bunch of tests on me and then took me from the orphanage. I was loaded into a Jump jet and taken to an island with 49 other kids. We were supposed to survive for as long as we could by any means. I had to find food and water, and I ended up killing some kids that I felt were threats. I was on that island for 6 long months. At the end of that, 7 of us survived. We were lifted off the island, stabalized, then went into an operation to put special implants in our brains to help us fight better. We each completed 3 years of training, field tests, and simulations. We became the ultimate fighting team. I've had so far 2 years of expierience. I'm still new, but I'm way ahead of some of the oldest soldiers in the army."

at this point, Jason fished the bag out of the water and began eating.

"This is good. Better than our stuff."

Edit: ooc: I'll be back soon

Trafa raised an eyebrow.

"Interesting to say the least, pity though you need implants."

So, the boy did not become what he is of his own free will. And an orphan...do all governments do their dirty work on those with none to mourn their deaths?

A deep pain flashed through Iliyakim's body, and he allowed none to show on his face as he waited it out.

The only outward sign, that would perhaps not be interpreted correctly, was his hand clenching around the now-empty foil that had contained his dinner.

"Remember though, the implants are an enhancement. I still have to train to use them to their fullest potential, and I didn't have them when I was on the island."

Edit: "And with most of my functions disabled except for Night Vision, Heat Reading, Adrenaline and Endorphins, and Safety Net Features, this will be a test of what I've learned with my implants."

"Thank you, sir!", replyed MSG Deokumar. "We understand the rules! Would you mind escorting us to our camp?"

Deokumar spoke in Hindi to Bhakta what the place looks like and other things of interest. As another person approached, the Colonel went to the person.
They both walked out of the Colonel's way to go to their tent.

As they were walking. A few of their classmates came out to look at them.

"Hello, comrades!", said SSG Bhakta.

As they walked over to Tylas' tent. Tylas' gave a staring look at Deokumar and Bhakta. Bhakta spoke Hindi to Deokumar about Tylas' and both had a small laugh. They went on their way and saluted to Tylas.

"Yes sir colonel."

Aldaris saluted, hand to chest, and turned wirth parade ground precision, carrying the paper to the main base, as he was instructed.

Major Konig shook his head,"Drill..."

Wolf nodded,"He looks impressive... but we have no need for drill here"

Cougar noticed this, and furrowed his brow. He knew exactly why Iliyakim was doing that... and he also knew what he was thinking. BEcause right now, he was thinking the same thing. The newcomers story, whilst diffferent, bore some resembelence to his own. But in his case, he had no choice. But his was nothing compared to his friends. Cougar didn't make a move, but merely nodded slightly, enough so that Iliyakim would make it out.
