OOC: Just a little bit of OOC advice from a past newbie player. This sort of thread is usually ignored and seen as a type of godmodding, mainly because such small nations as yours cannot yet afford to have any type of Nuclear Weapons.

I would suggest redoing this thread as some sort of press-conference about your nation and draw more positive attention to your nation. I would also suggest reading the 'Stickies', the threads in each of the forums at the top of the pages, to get to know NS in a better and more coherent way. Perhaps even inviting countries to a banquet or Embassy exchange instead of rather arrogantly demanding nuclear weapons?

Just a bit of advice.

The Kingdom Of Crookfur would advise the Republic of Feline Catfish administration that the possesion of atomic is a major hassle and such a huge drain on the defence budget that they simply aren't worth bothering about until you have the budget to support both the weapons themselves and the delivery methods in the large numbers required to make them useful.

As such we would urge you to turn your defence spending to more productive areas of development and capabilities (like a nice big integrated air defence network).

We would also offer the possibility of deploying a small Crookfur Airforce detachment to your nation including a full squadron of airborne lasers thus removing the need for you have nuclear weapons as an attack on you would carry the consquence of a Crookfur counter strike which woudl open up a whole new world of hurt on the world.

True, it would cause horrific destruction, but that is ignoring two important factors. One, that he may have a workable ABM system in place. Two, that he can survive more than you. Let us say that each missile is capable of destroying a city of 5 million people (for the sake of simple math). 20 of those would kill 200 million. A huge number, to be sure, but not something Ankhmet will never recover from. Whereas, Ankhmet must only launch two of an equivalent missile to completely and utterly annihilate your nation.

The point I'm trying to get across is that MAD is a good way to ruin everyone's day, and the best way to avoid it is to not threaten nations that are far more likely to survive it than yours.

The message was true to the bone, as thousands of troops were being mobilized. Ships were already beginning to dock, while the larger fleets were called back from various practice exercises. The Dracun Slayers (marines) and The Dracun Elite will be the only force deployed along with their weapons of war. The ARGONAUT-IX had almost completed it's movement scan of where Dracun Imperium was located, when it had orders to reverse and go back. Almost immediately the satellite responded to the orders given, taking high quality images and patching them back to a random "fishing trawler" which patched them through several secure signals and eventually the Bomber Command Station 18 received the signals and told it's pilots to be ready. The MINOTAUR-XI,XII, and XIII were on station in the area, luckily, and the combat satellites began to change their course to bear down on Dracun Imperium. The space based weapons would soon hit with deadly efficiency to bring the enemies capital to rubble.

Several minutes later sixteen B1H bombers were in the air and climbing rapidly to their maximum altitude while accelerating in speed. The bomber pilots knew they were on an important mission and they would NOT mess up.

The satellites meanwhile had a target, and the revolver like end of MINOTAUR-XI began to unfold to reveal a score of deadly high yield missiles. These missiles were not ordinary missiles - they were in fact a huge piece of metal shaped much like a missile, with built in countermeasures in case of an ABM defense grid and rows of mini missiles with 2500 kg charges. Each SBGAM [space based ground attack missile] had twelve of the missiles with the 2500 charge in. Some of the missiles were loaded with napalm charges. The napalm missiles were seperated from the group and were aimed at civilian targets such as housing flats and suburbs. The SBGAMs were aimed at airbases government buildings and such. No hospitals or schools were aimed at.

The missiles fired from MINOTAUR-XI. There was no flash, or burn, not like below the Ozone Layer. Just a whoosh and a deadly metallic click.

The bombers meanwhile were crossing the ocean to DI.

Whilst your views are understood and duly noted, we will not rescind our offer of help to a nation whose sovereignty is being violated. Dracun Imperium may continue to take offensive action against Feline Catfish, but I assure you that every ship that faces an Imperial Praetonian vessel and fails to turn back or surrender will be sunk.

I do so hope, however, that you will see reason and agree to withdraw your threats against Feline Catfish. Up until now, every single threat of detonating a nuclear device made by Feline Catfish has come with the added caveat of in the event of an invasion, or other such act which will seriously damage or destroy the state or people of Feline Catfish.

Admiral: Open fire if they come closer than 50km. It will be a brief battle they cannot possibly win.

Cruiser (HMV Mendip): Sir, we have just sighted the Miniferg navy. They are going in the same direction as us: towards the Makaaran ships.

Admiral: Prepare to fire at the Makaraan ships, load the guns.

ADMIRAL REPORT ON THE SITUATION

Our Auxiliary Fleet and its escorts have docked in FC. FC is now taking delivery of the nuclear weaponry, they are being loaded onto trains and taken to a nearby tunnel where they can wait safely.

The other parts of our fleet made up of 34 frigates, 12 destroyers, 2 cruisers and 20-30 submarines is moving closer to the Makaraan navy at a very slow pace (5 Knots). Over 100 Helicopters from the ships have taken to the skies or are on standby. We are preparing to fire unless the Makaraan navy stops immediately.

OOC: Makaar has ships EVERYWHERE!!! Actually, that is bad form, but 1 hour 12 minutes away is a long time away. It is perfectly possible for our ships to be that distance away.

IC:

On the bridge of the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier, the HMMS Merchantman, Captain Ryan Hodges moves towards a radar screen. The Midshipman there gives him a report.

"Sir," he begins, "We have the position of the FC vessels. There's a heavy escort."

The captain nodded. "Understood. Bring all stations to tactical alert. Bring missile defences online and ready the lifeboats. Open a channel to the FC ships."

As he did so, the captain spoke. "Feline Catfish vessels, this is the Makaarian 6th Fleet. We cannot allow your cargo to reach its destination. Please power down your engines and prepare to be boarded. There's no reason this has to end in international war."

He motioned to cut the channel and waited for the reply.

The submarine slunk quietly and unnoticed towards their prey. Still more than 150km away, they were all but indetectable to the enemy fleet. Their weapons were still locked - four to the carrier, two to the helicopter carriers. A signal beamed towards the Makaaran fleet from the Feline mainland.

"You will turn about and leave Feline Catfish forever. You were not invited here, and you should not have come. You will leave now, or you will be destroyed."

Admiral to Makaraan Navy:

We are NES naval vessels not FC vessels. Our cargo has already docked at FC docks. What you are facing now is part of our navy sent to examine your navy. We will attack you now if you do not leave FC territories.

Admiral to Makaraan Navy:

Pull back now or we will open fire.

The Admiral recieved a message from the Assembly:

"STALL FOR TIME. REINFORCEMENTS ARE BEING SENT. DO WHAT YOU CAN TO AVOID WAR. MAKAAR IS COUNTING ON YOUR HANDLING OF THE SITUATION. GOD SAVE THE KING."

He transmitted a further message:

"NES vessels, this is the Makaarian fleet. We do not want to start a conflict here. We are coming to a full stop to avoid collision. This is not FC waters, we are in international waters, and we are only interested in making sure Makaar is not threatened here. We will not fire the first shots. I repeat, we will not fire the first shots. However, we cannot allow such a small nation to gain control of a nuclear arsenal. Please power down your engines as we are. We must also warn you of a hidden fleet of submarines below us, and any attack on us will undoubtedly mean war between our two nations."

He then transmitted another message, this time to Feline Catfish.

"We are not in Feline Catfish waters, we are in international waters, and therefore any act against us will make you the agressors. We are not prepared to war against such a small nation, but will do so if necessary to secure international security."

Admiral to Makaraan Navy:

Most of our vessels are in or around the docks in FC.

Some of our vessels are in International Waters near your fleet: 34 frigates, 12 destroyers, 2 cruisers and 20-30 submarines. They have been stopped.

OOC:OH BOY! WAR STTIRRING TIME!

IC:Several Patrol Torepedo Boats flying the Feline Catfish flag sailed at high speeds toward the Makaar Naval Vessels.

The funny thing was they were approaching from OUTSIDE the blockade line. In actuality, these PT Boats were really owned by the Heart of Armaggeddon(Sometimes Known As the Red Tide Mafia). They had a particuakr interest in this conflict. Considering that it was a potential profit ground, and they liked stirring up trouble anyways.

Feline Catfish, I have noticed your nation do but two things when stating your intentions for nuclear weapons. You blatantly threaten the use of these weapons, and for that matter, state that you WILL use these weapons after you have aqquired them. You have threatened any number of nations, many of them capable of squashing your small country like a mouse beneath a tank's tread. What I have noticed furthermore, is that you take the mose aggressive stance possible for nuclear deterrance, which is not onlt unneeded, but a detriment to your postsion.
On the other hand, you continue to insist these weapons will be used as a deterrant, while still declarin your intentions to use them. I can not make up my mind wether you are a threat and should be delt with accordingly, or bluffing and should be ignored.
Indeed, you have nuclear capability now as I say this, but your nuclear capability is nowhere near what my nation is capable of. Furthermore, your nuclear capability is all stratigic, whereas my nation has just enough stratigic capability to remove you from the planet three or four times over, and enough tacical capability to devestate any military force you would push against us.
Do not take this as a threat of invasion though, for I am merely explaining things in a comparasin you can understand. We have no wish to go to war with you unless you push it uppon us, and if that case happens, we will respond as required.

Instead of conflict, I would like to offer you an arrangment. I would be more then happy conducting trade relations with your nation, perhaps even an alliance of some sorts, but only if you tone down your aggressive stance.
We find it unaccecptable to have allies who flaunt their nuclear capability around, and their desire to use it at a moments notice, with such aggressive leadership. When,in our own experiance, keeping such a weapon system as a last resort, and not flaunting it, but not denying it either, is best. Many nations, I'm sure, are unaware of our nuclear aresenol, or aware that we have one at all. This has been much the benifit to my nation as in our ten thousand year history war has not come to our lands because of our foreign policy, or our stance on military deterrance.
I sincerely hope you will heed my words, and consider my offer, for I forsee only destruction on the path you are choosing to take, and that is an outcome I would not like to see.

This is a very noble cause, indeed, and I will do all in my power to aid you in your plight to see this carried through, because peace is better than any nuclear war. However, I fear that the nations who blockade you have a sense of superiority that curtail any sanity. This entire blockade was instated through boredom, and to show of their military muscle. This war about to erupts was not your fault, and neither was it the fault of those who sold you nuclear weapons. It is the fault of those imperialist who only wish to dogpile the small.

There was a tense silence on the bridge before the lieutenant swiveled in his chair. "Captain, aren't you going to do anything?!" he said, with an element of fear in his voice. The captain shook his head. "If we're going to survive this, we're going to have to stay calm and not engage them. Contact the Assembly, ask them when their reinforcements are going to arrive. Get all non-essential crew to the evacuation stations, in case they do attack. Prepare to scramble the aircraft. Contact the incoming fleet."

The lieutenant flicked several switches. The lights on the bridge dimmed and the female voice of the computer came over on the loudspeakers. "All non-essential crew, prepare to abandon ship. All non-essential crew, proceed to the evacuation stations and prepare to abandon ship." The lieutenant flicked another switch, and the captain spoke to the NES fleet.

"NES fleet, this is the Makaarian fleet. We do not want a war to start here today. Please, power down your weapons systems and slow yourselves. There is a peaceful way to end this. We await your response in friendship."

He motioned for the channel to be cut before standing. "Full tactical alert. Ready weapons systems, but don't load our cannons. We don't want to appear hostile now. All we can do now is sit back and hope they want to avoid war as much as we do."

The Empire of Cotland hereby wish to officially condemn the blockade against Feline Catfish. Feline Catfish have every right to purchase nuclear weapons for use against enemy agressors like Makaar. That's too much to ask for all thosi that are taking part in the blockade. They'll never agree.

I can see there is no way out. Stevid stepping down from this subject. With threat from Macabees, Guffingford and allies to FC. Stevid will back. It is common sense.

The allied fleet consists of about 10-12 nations while FC allies consist of 15-22 nations.

These were custom designed torepedoes used only by the Red Tide Military, the HOA, and Corporations based in Red Tide. It was a MK-150 Anti-Ship Torepedo. It was bascilily a oversized torepedo with a MASSIVE armored piercing warhead. On the slow side for a torepedo but with enough firepower to rip a good sized hole in a Iowa Class Battleship. There were five torepedo boats. Each one fired 5 torepdoes before turning and running away as fast as possible, trying to get the hell out of Dodge. The torepedoes were mostly aimed at capitol ships... that is aircraft carriers and battleships.

The Makaarian ships fire anti-missile guns at the incoming missiles. As the ships at the rear quickly load their cannons, they fire in the general direction of the Red Tide ships. Knowing that the ships came from the wrong side of the blockade, the captain of the Nimitz class orders an analysis of one of the torpedoes that managed to lodge itself in the hull but had its detonation mechanism damaged under fire. It is a custom design used by Red Tide ships. The Assembly chooses to ignore them and continues with the tense situation that was developing.

OOC: There. If this appears childish, maybe you should read your posts and check how your attitude seems. Everyone else, please delete you psts about the Makaarian fleet being attacked because I am turning my IGNORE cannons on the Red Tide ships.

The Makaarian fleet transmits standard peaceful greetings on a continuous loop to the NES ships. Meanwhile, they keep their weapons powered down and drop anchor where they are, indicating their wish to stay. Finally, a voice interrupts the loop:

"This is Captain Ryan Fields of the Makaarian Royal Navy. We want to avoid war here. Please, we request a negotiation with your fleet. You may come over to our vessel, or I will come over to yours. Either way, we need your assurance that you will not fire as long as we do not. We await your reply."

IC:The PT Boat crew men were laughing with each other at the succesfully conducted raid, a few of them popped open bottles of vodka and were about to drink it when they heard a screech and a plume of water shot out only a few meters away from one of the boats. The boats went into evasive manuevers immediatly.

Shells continued to scream down and explode while the PT boats zig-zagged threw the water. Then one of the shells scored a direct hit. The boat was ripped in half by the violent explosion. The ignited fuel burned what was left. The other boats continued to zig-zag.

Actually torps can be hit by CIWs and aimed MG fire, particualrly if fired from PT baots as the fish tend not to go terribly deep and since you mentioned that these are slower than nromal then it does become a bit easier.
yes you woudl still score hits but pretty much at the cost of your entire boat group, as your victims woudl ahev plenty time to fire on your before your torps hit.

As long as you do not enter FCs territorial waters we will not fire at you. We are sending over an Arctica Class Cruiser (HMV Mendip) with a 4 atlantica class frigate escort (carrying a total of 11 helicopyers) to confer with you.

"Sir, the NES ships are the only ships in range," one of the midshipmen said. "You left the fleet behind about 20km away and we've lost long range comms!"

The captain sighed. "Very well. Signal the NES ships, we need immediate aid or we're all going to die."

The ships we are sending over will try to pick up your men, we are coming in at full power (35 knots) and we are 25km away. Our other ships (apart from the ones in dock at FC) have been ordered to follow.

This is an EMERGENCY send all ships within a 50km radius to aid the Malkaaran naval vessels, people are dying here....

The Makaarian sailors dived into the waters below. As lifeboats fell into the sea, the survivors scrambled towards them. Crews jumped straight from the bridge as the captain ordered an abandon ship. Before he did anything, he ran down the stairs to the munitions store and set one of the bombs for 5 minutes, as was Makaarian procedure. He then ran back to the top deck and dove into the water.

The lifeboats sailed towards the NES ships as their Nimitz-class exploded behind them. Sending huge shockwaves into the water, a large chunk of debris cut into one of the inflatable boats, leaving the sailors on that boat stranded in the water, relatively unharmed. Another lifeboat sailed to pick them up. It was a scene of chaos.

As they arrived near the NES ships, Captain Fields took a set of flare guns and fired them into the air to indicate their positions relative to the rescue ships. They slowed to prepare to be taken in by the rescue vessels.

IC:Two more boats erupted in half. The final boat(which was also the lead boat), half of the crew panicked, "WE'RE GONNA DIE!" One of them shouted.

And as if on cue a shell landed so close to the side of the boat that it flipped over. Spilling out some of the crew members. Those that didnt know how to swim disappeared underneath the waves. Those that did began to swim towards the nearest ships. Only 3 men from the boats were now alive(the rest either drowned or ripped to shreds by an explosion).

"Sir! Others are firing upon the Fascist invaders!"

"By God, you're right! Ready the missiles. Saturate their fleet with fire!"

"Yes Sir!" Came shouts from all across the sub. The VLS hatches broke, twenty missiles streaked out towards the enemy fleet.

"Dive! Dive deep!" The Captain shouted and the boat plummetted into the depths of the ocean. No one would find them now and within a few hours they would be back in port in Felian Catfish.

The remaining Makaarian ships pursued the Red Tide pirates, fnally closing on their destroyed fleet. As they arrived near the three men, they threw down a rope ladder for the men to grab on to. As they crawled up the ladder, they were greeted by a group of men with rifles.

"Lieutenant Brian Victors, Ship Security!" one of them barked. "I'm placing you under arrest for piracy at sea, threatening the lives of Makaarian servicemen, threatening a Makaarian naval ship, destruction of a Makaarian naval ship, and attempting to start war through decietful means."

As he did this, a voice shouted over the loudspeaker: "All hands, tactical alert. We have confirmed enemy missile fire heading for our position. Man the anti-missile guns, prepare for an enemy attack."

As the group of pirates were siezed and taken to the brig to be kept under armed guard, all the others rushed to their stations. The anti-missile guns turned towards the direction the missiles would be coming from.

Admiral to Rescue Vessels:

Set the emergency lifeboats to sea, any survivors must be picked up.

Admiral to Makaraan Navy:

Do not move any closer to the rescue ships, we will take the survivors back to FC were they will be safe and our hostages.

Admiral to Other Ships:

Back-up the rescue vessels and then escort them back to FC.

OOC: looks like more casualalties for the Makaarans.

The 3 men froze, looked at each other. They didnt know what the man was saying(Red Tideans are predominantly Russian) but the men with assualt rifles made it kind of obvious. One began to reach for a pistol in his holster, thought better of it, and put his hands in the air. The other 2 followed suite.

The missiles come into range of the ships, which concentrate their fire. Several are shot down, but 4 manage to get through and hit different ships.

One of the destroyers is hit in its munitions store. For a second, nothing happens, but then it explodes upwards, then outwards, sending debris everywhere. Another missile hits one of the missile cruisers, splitting it in half and sending the rear section sinking to the bottom of the sea. As sailors all abandon their damaged ships, and with loss of life everywhere, the other two missiles hit two different ships, which both suffer massive damage across their port side and are now leaning severaly to one side and unable to fire their weapons or even move.

Admiral to Makaraan navy:

We cannot save you this time. All our ships are heading back to the FCs docks where they will be repaired and refuelled.

OOC: OOCly, sure, but ICly you don't have a clue who fired those missiles (as they're just generic Russian SSMs from real life) and you're very unlikely to find the sub and use that as evidence.

OOC: I've been watching this conflict since it started and here is my 2 cents (Ignore if you want too) 1: Feline, who could you get theses nukes and be able to fire them in less then 1 NS year, the cost of the nukes the cost of the nuke silos, the cost of the Battle Class Destroyers, the cost of training men to man those stations (During the Gulf War the cost of training a standard rifle men to proficent was $84,000 and the cost of keeping him at that skill level was $30-50,000 per infantry man per year), and then training all these men to use weapons and launch nukes would totally collapse your economy, you wouldn't be able to even bulid the silos required would be over a NS year, maybe even 2, and remember during war time your military should not excced 2-5% of your total pop. if you are even able to afford that much, and remember for every combat soldier you have 1 in reserve, and 3 in logistical support.

In short you should only be able to train, equip, deploy, supply or even afford would be a basic rifle company maybe a regiment.

"Well I guess that settles it, Admiral have the 1st and 2nd fleets stand buy for replenishment, after it's over have the fleets depart for 100 miles off the coast of FC and send a tranmission telling them we are friendly." said the President. "Right away sir."

OOC - Why are you asking this OOC? Basically his post said that if Feline Catfish stops doing what it wants to do then there will be peace - he said nothing about immediate peace which I demanded, so i acted.

As the surviving naval vessels sailed towards the origin of the missiles, they launched their air defence units. As they did so, over the horizon, the Makaarian reinforcements arrived. 64 F-16s, 29 F-117s and 3 Invincible-class aircraft carriers moved to rendezvous with the fleet.

Prime Minister Ranford shuddered as he read the report. Ships bearing the Feline Catfish flags firing at the Makaarian ships; then a missile strike against the Makaarian fleet.

An emergency meeting of the Assembly had been called to discuss an appropriate course of action. Journalists mobbing him, the Prime Minister moved quickly up the Senate steps and through the giant doors, which were immediately locked and sealed behind him.

As he entered, the members of the Assembly clapped, as was traditional. He stepped quickly up to the podium and addressed the members of Parliament, the members of the Assembly, and the television cameras and journalists.

"Citizens of Makaar," he spoke; "As you are aware, we have been a part in the escalating Feline Catfish situation. Now we find ourselves under attack. This morning, a Makaarian battle group participating in a blockade of Feline Catfish was attacked by vessels bearing the Feline Catfish flag, and then by missiles launched from the direction of Feline Catfish. The men we captured have admitted working for the Feline Catfish Government."

"Makaar will not stand for this. Therefore, I ask the King to declare a state of war against Feline Catfish."

There was a huge round of applause. Assembly members rose to their feet and cheered. Then, a red light fell over the chamber from a flame lit above it. A silence descended, before the King stood.

"The Assembly has shown its support for you, Mr. Prime Minister," he said. "I authorise this declaration of war against Feline Catfish and turn control of the armed forces over to the Chiefs of Staff."

The entire Ankhmeti Foreign Fleet steamed into the waters near the battle. It had been in transit since an executive order by the People's Commissar that the waters of Feline Catfish were to be blockaded. The token flagship, a masspwnage built ubercarrier was at the rear, but still a massive target. Unknown the the people of Feline Catfish, the ship was primed to be sunk near the coast, with the prototype Ankhmeti 0.7 gigaton nuclear device. It would boil the seas and poison the water, killing of masses of fishing stock and destroying ships within a huge radius. 80 of the heaviest dreadnoughts and destroyers of the fleet were moving with the ship, to a glorious decommissioning. The The captain of the real flagship, a nondescript destroyer somewhere in the middle of the fleet hailed the Maakarian ships.


"This is Ankhmeti Naval Superforce 1. I believe you have taken some losses. Perhaps you would like some assistance. Perhaps the largest naval fleet assembled in Ankhmeti history will suffice?"

The front 50 ships, all destroyers moved to aid the stricken Maakarians.

"This is the HMMS Nimble to the Ankhmet fleet. We have taken some losses because of Feline Catfish missile fire. There are sailors in the water around us who need assistance. A large squadron of bombers are moving to destroy Feline Catfish ports, and we are preparing to follow them. We have reinforcements on the way. Please leave one of your destroyers to pick up the survivors, and the rest of us can sail on towards FC. HMMS Nimble out."

The ships moved back into formation and prepared for an attack on the FC defences.

In the bombing of the docks by Makaraan planes we have taken 8 casualties in ships (2 AF ships, 3 Patrol ships, 2 Frigates and 1 corvette). We still hold the port position and have dispersed out fleet around feline catfish island.

If you actually read the thread, you will see they were all donated and some flown in. I didn't pay for any of them. Also, none of them are silo based - they're deployed in railway carriages.

I don't see why. It doesnt exactly take very many men just to aim something and then press a button. Remember that unless you lot are godmodding insta-arrivals, I have at least a month or so between getting the nukes and you lot arriving.

I covered the silo thing. Again, if you care to read the OOC thread for this (not very good at that, are you?) then you'd see I have 50,000 active soldiers in my army. That's 0.625% of my population.

After you bombing of the port we have officially decided to declare war on you. We have 200 prisoners from your navy we saved earlier on when you were attacked. We will hold them in our possession until you cease your attacks and remove your ant-feline catfish stance.

The laughing inside the Tac Room simply would not stop. The satellite photos of the giant target that was the Uber Carrier was somewhat of a joke to the High Admiralty. They knew how to deal with it - and they would do so with sickening efficiency.

The Submarine Operations Fleet: Stealthpaw had left port as soon as the situation had started and in an hour would be in range of the Ankhmeti Carrier. The eight SSBN's were protected by a wall of the [i]Approximate class SSNs and they quickly began to close the range on the Ankhmeti carrier as it's escorts left the carrier basically undefended.

Meanwhile in high orbit the ARISTOTLE II satellite drifted into strike range and without further ado unsheathed it's ICBM complement of 8 guided EMP missiles and 6 Guided Tactical Nuclear Weapons and left them gleaming off the suns reflection.The Guided ICBMs had been designed for this purpose - to strike SDs and SCVN's from orbit in conjuction with the submarines.

As the submarines came into sonar range of any escorts, the SSNs armed missiles and torpedoes and prepared for combat as the SSBNs armed their 16 Trident D6 Tactical Cruise Missiles and fired them, all at once, into the air on a direct collision course with the Ubercarrier. 128 Cruise missiles streamed in at low trajectory course, skimming the sea and soon to crash into the ubercarrier's hull...

Given the word, or data, the ARISTOTLE II fired four of it's guided EMP missiles at the ubercarrier and subsequently two of the Tactical Nuclear Missiles.

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENT:

In an election held today the Conservative Party have replaced the Socialist Party. Our old Prime Minister, Dr Terence Proctor has been replaced by Mr Harold Durrell. Mr Durrel has already mentioned he will take a tougher stance to the FC issue and commit more naval vessels to defend FC.

Admiral to FC:

The 3 Auxililiary Fleet ships we dispatched yesterday are heading for FC territorial waters. They are filled with stores and natural gas. If anyone fires on the ships our vengeance will be swift.

"Zackaroth vessels, we have recieved your communication. We have no fighters to spare but we have a number of Apache helicopters which will be used to protect our fleet. I suggest your join formation with us, we are preparing for an assault on Feline Catfish land."

Captain Simon Byrnes closed the channel. He was captain of the HMMS Nimble, one of the helicopter carriers and the vessel that had taken over as fleet flagship. As he did this, he nodded to a lieutenant, who flicked a switch on his control panel. The helicopters took off into the air to protect the fleet.

As he did this, the reinforcements closed to within visual range. The reinforcements included:

30 x Ocean class helicopter carriers
42 x Ticonderoga class (Makaarian refit) missile cruisers, with 10 sea-to-surface missiles each
59 x King James class destroyers
30 x Ajolt class troop carriers (100 troops each)

1000 F-16s
520 A-10 Thunderbolts
300 Apache attack helicopters
50 Chinook troop transports

With the initial attack still in process against the FC ports, the 520 A-10 Thunderbolts took off, guarded by 400 F-16s. They had been ordered to take o the anti-personnel emplacements ahead of a huge assault by Makaarian troops.

At the same time, the Chinooks loaded marines and waited on the deck of the helicopter carriers. The troops inside were Makaarian Royal Guardiers; elite troops trained by the Makaarian authorities in "unorthodox" ways, and trained to operate behind enemy lines and destroy or take over small ships.

The troop carriers dropped behind the line of destroyers. Once they reached the FC ports, they would drop their troops to overwhelm the FC defences and take the port. The troops inside them were only the troops that the Army could muster in the few hours they had been given, but more troops were being assembled at the ports for a second assault.

20 Challenger-II tanks had also been dispatched. They had also been at the port at the right moment, although three were operating with a tank crew that had only just come out of training.

The sumbarines dived and formed a ring around the fleet, protecting them and performing constant sweeps for other subs. They loaded their torpedoes and readied themselves for an engagement with another fleet.

This is seen as a completely unneccesary act of war. Our navy will do everything in their power to stop this illegal attack being successful. Also we must mention that FC may use his nuclear weapons against your fleet.

We wish to warn those participating in this war that Ankhmet is willing to institute a scorched earth policy. as such, the launch codes to Ankhmeti Gigaton scramjet nuclear weapons have been released tot he missiliers. Should the blockade go too badly we will have no problems in launching these weapons. Let the world hear this and back off. They have no business interfering with an effort to make the world a little more peaceful, do they?

Take up defensive formation. Cruisers, Destroyers and Frigates on the outside, others inside. Send the submarines and corvettes to scour the seas for enemy subs. Load your guns and head towards the enemy at a slow pace. If you see any planes shoot them down with SAMs. We are not going to give up, we will fight on! Send the Auxiliary Vessels out of the docks, they will probably be bombed. Spread them out in the seas, the other side of the enemy.

The ubercarrier performed it's final ask admirably, if at the wrong time. The .7 Gigaton weapon inside it detonated, vapourising the rearward 100 vessels of the fleet. Still the sea was crowded with vessels, amongst them thousands of landing craft moving into position. Elite stormtroopers in hydrofoils sped towards the thomasien coast. Hundreds of thousands of marine troopers were ready to make landfall should the order to invade be given. they were much more ready to make a move backwards, should the 'scorched earth' policy be enacted.

250 'Screamer' artillery boats trained their railguns at the closest port they could. These railguns were fitted with phosphorous, to start a blaze in the docks.

We are very sad indeed to announce that this war will probably go thermonuclear. We did all we can as a nation to support FC through this crisis, and we called for allies to come in. Many large nations (Dumperstam, Praetonia, Hogsweat etc.) sided with FC but they were not quick enough reacting and now it is to late. We have pulled our navy out of the area, there is nothing more we can do. We hope that war can be limited by the large nations threatening Makaar and Ankhmet with their own powers.

Whilst it is the avowed policy of this nation never to use or own nuclear weapons*, we do believe that nations must have a right to self determination within their own affairs. We wholeheartedly endorse the actions of those nations defending Feline Catfish, and urge all blockading nations to withdraw before this crisis escalates into a world conflict.

As soon as he finished speaking, a silence that had never before been heard fell upon Feline Catfish. The cameras trained on the Monarch had just broadcast this speech to all the peoples of the nation, and of the world. The events about to proceed would all be caught live and transmitted live.

Absolute silence. For a mere six second it lasted, but it seemed like an enternity. And at the end of eternity, the whole world errupted.

"George! George! George!" The crowd shouted, thrusting their clentched fists into the air towards their Monarch. Comments shouted from the crowd reached the Sovereign's ears,

"George'll see us through!", "We knew you wouldn't let us down!", "Club 'em down!"

The Sovereign raised both his hands, indicating for the crowd to be silent, and they obeyed without question and without complaint. King George III surveyed his loyal people for several minutes, before finally speaking just a few simply words, "And so it is done."

The whole fleet (apart from 20-30 submarines) is now out of FC territorial waters and in international waters, we will keep going for a while yet though and remain in reserve for the possible counter attack of FC island.

Remain at the maximum depth possible, if you see any other vessels within FC territorial waters fire your torpedoes at them. When the enemy forces land fire your 90 Tomahawks at them!

The country of Pael denounces this madness and begs all sides to come to their senses. While Feline Catfish may have acted in an arrogant and frustrating manner, that is no reason to declare a blockade, much less wage war! What sort of nations are so bloodthirsty that they see the acquisition of power by an obscure country as a threat they must kill millions to answer? In blissful ignorance of the missile launch, the Makaarian fleet closed on the ports of Feline Catfish. As they did, they fired torpedoes at the ships in front of them. They were barely 100km from the FC shores. Closing, they broadcast a message.

"This is the HMMS Nimble, flagship of the Makaarian 1st Fleet. We are about to launch an invasion of your nation. Let it be known that we are willing to offer you a way out of this. We will turn back if you surrender under the following conditions:

1. You destroy 70% of your nuclear arsenal, and submit to inspections annually.
2. Makaar is willing to offer you full military protection if you comply with this condition.

Please, the Assembly of Makaar begs you to stop this. We do not want to be dragged into this war. We must fight, though. We await your reply."

As the fleet moved forwards, the Captain looked at one of the readouts. The lieutenant at the screen was panicking. He then slammed his fist down on a red button, setting klaxons off around the ship.

"Sir!" he cried, "Confirmed missile attack, bearing 010 mark 13, distance 103 km!" The captain rushed to the screen. "Bring the anti-missile cannons online. Ready all weapons, we have to shoot those missiles out of the sky! Signal the fleet to do the same! Load all the marines we can into the Chinooks, get them and the landing craft away!"

The lieutenant flicked a few switches, then pressed his earphones to his head. "Chinooks are loaded and taking off, sir. Landing craft are moving ahead."

Another lieutenant cried out, "Sir, there's 100 missiles headed for us...150...no, wait, I'm reading 200 missiles headed for our position! They're targeted for co-ordinates 512 mark 37 mark 00, and the computer works out they will hit the water there in 2 minutes, maybe less." He looked back at his screen. "They're nuclear missiles!" he cried. "All of them, nuclear missiles!"

The captain's eyes widened. "My god...when they hit the water, they'll detonate...signal all ships, emergency, full ahead. Helm, bring us to a full stop and launch all helicopters, fighters, everything we have. Get the men out on the decks with guns. We've got to destroy those missiles one way or another if we're going to succeed. Signal the Ticonderogas, tell them to launch their missiles in the path of those nukes, wide dispersal pattern. We should be able to knock a few out of the sky."

On the bridge, people worked the switchboards like crazy. As the captain watched, the rest of the fleet steamed ahead, pushing their engines to maximum efficiency. The Ticonderogas fired their missiles, which hit several of the nukes and reduced their numbers.

"Back us away, helm, one eighth," the captain ordered. The ship slowly backed away, until the readout gave the co-ordinates the missiles were aimed for.

"Full stop!" the captain ordered. He looked to his men. "Fire all anti-missile guns! Fire everything we have! Order the pilots to steer their jets in the way! Everything!"

The shots took down a large number of the missiles. As they closed in range, the ship opened up with everything it had. Pilots steered their jets into the missiles to bring them down. As they finally ran out of jets, there was only one missile left.

"We've run out of ammo!" one of the lieutenants cried. The captain ran down to the armoury and set one of the bombs. Then, sitting in the corner, he waited.

"Detonation in 10..."

So this was how it ended. The world slowed down as fear took control of the captain.

"9..."

He huddled in the corner, a broken wreck of a man, watching out of the port hole as the tiny dot got larger.

"8..."

It was visible now as a missile. Flying in a small approach angle, it was closing on the ship. Closing on him.

"7..."

He continued to watch. Fear gripped him as he began to cry. His wife, his daughter...they were about to lose him.

"6..."

He was about to lose him. He couldn't think of anything else to do. If his plan worked, the fleet should still be able to make it to the FC shores.

"5..."

If his plan worked. Hopefully, the ship would detonate late enough to destroy the missile, but early enough to stop it hitting its target co-ordinates.

"4..."

He had killed everyone on this ship. He had killed many people in Feline Catfish. He was a killer.

"3..."

So this is how it ends for the killer. The killer who hasthe blood of a thousand children on his hands.

The soul taker's soul was about to be taken. He watched and listened for the countdown. There were people in the deck above him going crazy with fear.

So was he. One second of life left. He prayed that his plan would work.

There was an explosion. That was the last thing that he heard. He didn't know whether his plan succeeded or not.

It did. The explosion, while not neutralising the bomb completely, damaged the detonation mechanism. The bomb detonated, taking everything in a 5km radius with it, including the entire rear line of Ticonderoga class warships and several rows of troop transports. It vapourised the HMMS Nimble and the Ticonderogas, but some of the troop transports were able to make their way to the port, along with the Chinooks.

1,000 marines landed on FC shores...

Yes FC has behaved in a childish, perhaps even n00bish manner, although with somewhat better RP skills and more eloquence than most, but that does not give any nation a right to invade him. Otherwise the US would have invaded Cuba by now, along with the Netherlands, and South Africa. Just because you find a nation repugnant does not mean you should start killing its civilians.

3. FC is also playing a country with an absolute ruler. It could be that he/she is taking this into account with the manner of RP? Just because your king is crazy doesn't mean that you deserve to become a big crater.

The Paeln rescue convoy is seriously cutting back the pace, hoping to avoid what looks like a neigh-inevitable conflict from embroiling them, and regretably preparing for the treatment of massive casualties and heavy radiation sickness.

The only hope for FC is if we kill the enemy troops landing on their island and then the FC citizens will be able to defend their island and use their 2100 nukes leftover to defend themselves! This is North East Somersets last act of defence for FC.

DESCRIPTION:
The submarines all surfaced simoultaneously, then their missile casings opened and all 15 launched 6 Tomahawk Cruise Missiles. The missiles raced towards the positions all along the coast of FC island. As the Makaraan troops got off their landing craft suffering only light fire from the FC positions (which alerted the admiral of the landing) they were unaware of what was about to hit and obliterate them.

OOC: Ill answer your question. There is an established rule here that clearly states that no nation inder 100 million population can have nuclear weapons. Its as simple as that. And whats making me so disgusted with these supposedly "senior rpers" (you know who you are) is that not only are they condoning and going along with this little charade but that they have the audacity to sell/give him the technology to make his own, sell/give him actual weapons, and then to protect him and defend his clear violations of the II protocols sickens and disgusts me to no end.
