AH-72 "Viper" Attack Helicopter

Aequatian Rotodyne Industries designed the AH-72 "Viper" as Aequatio's new combat attack helicopter. Like similar types, AH-72 has tandem seating and stub wings for armament. The ducted tail rotor is of "fenestron" type. The design features a composite hinge-less rotor hub for high control responsibility with damage tolerant main rotor blades, and automatic Flight Control System. The targeting system is integrated, with FLIR, TV and LASER ranging system. The shock absorbing seat and crew protection armor are part of the integrated cockpit.

Aequatian Rotodyne Industries had been developing an all-composite bearingless helicopter main rotor system for over eight years. Series production began for the new attack helicopter. The bearing-less rotor system consists of a hub plate, torsion elements and the main rotor blades. To facilitate this need, ARI developed a robotic roving placement system and a new molding process called Matched-die Isostatic Pressing, MIP.

M4A1 Spartan Infantry Combat Vehicle

The M4A1 variant was developed after combat simulation experiences displayed that the systems currently installed on the original M4 vehicle. Of these disadvantages include the weapon and armoured systems.

With the weapons, the M125A2 35mm automatic cannon was considered to no longer be sufficient for current combat situations as it had difficulty in engaging enemy vehicles within its class range. With this decided, the M132 45mm automatic cannon was developed along with improved munitions such as both a 45mm APFSDS and a Proximity-HE round for use against vehicles and infantry respectively. The coaxial weapon was replaced with an MG76A1 8.5mm machinegun and the M2C1 gun was placed on a cupola mounting for external use. As well, the side port weapons were replaced with MG55A3 6.35mm machineguns and reduced to two weapons mounted near the rear compartment ramp.

The vehicle's armour was also improved with the replacement of the older Carbon-60 composite with the newer Bisplate Steel reinforced with Titanium Carbide-Cobalt Alloy produced originally for the XM5 Main Battle Tank. In addition to the protection provided by the Bisplate alloy, an external layer of spaced slat armour was added in order to defeat shaped-charge warheads, including those belonging to infantry-supported anti-tank weapons. There will also be a Vehicle Dampening Layer (VDL) which helps to conceal the tank's infrared signature from anti-tank gunners using weapons such as the FGM-148 Javelin or AGM-65 Maverick.

M6 "Salamander" Marine Fighting Vehicle (MFV)

The M6 Salamander Marine Fighting Vehicle (MFV) was developed for the Aequatian Republic Marine Corps as a replacement for the aging Viking Mark III Landing Vehicle and Armoured Carrier. Then main purpose behind the program was to create a vehicle that could not only conduct amphibious landings and deliver Marines to a shoreline, but be capable of support the soldiers once they came ashore.

Its weapon systems consist of a small turret with a mounted M2C1 12.7mm heavy machinegun with a coaxial-mounted MG76A1 8.5mm general-purpose machinegun for anti-personnel capability while there is a heavily-modified mounted M9B1 100mm Multipurpose Assault Weapon, similar to that equipped to Army and Marine platoons.

The armoured suite uses a alloy of aluminium and silicon to create a composite armour which can not only protect the vehicle and passengers but is also capable of extreme endurance in humid and harsh conditions, for ease of maintainance in the field. G4 Sub-Machine Gun
// Abstract //

Due to the necessity for a weapon to replace the current Machine Pistol arming officers and pilots and such due to it’s unreliability, weight, and size making it a bit uncontrollable the G4 was made to replace it.

The G4 excelled in being visually pleasing, accurate, small, powerful and reliable. It was to replace the MP5 in current use and did an excellent job at it using patented quad recoil springs arrangement allows for decreased felt recoil and increased service life of the Machine Pistol. The frame of the weapon is made out of almost entirely high strength polymers. The weapon also features a large trigger guard for comfortable shooting even with gloves. The G4 is issued with quick-detachable silencers, Novac Lo Carry Transparent Blue Holosighthttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v145/KGBFaTaLsHoT/Gun%20Pictures/Sights.jpg, made in USA by Knight's Armaments Co, and with laser pointing module, which installs on the under barrel, or above the barrel RAIL systems. Despite being ridiculously reliable it’s light, and comfortable to wield and fire making it a favorite amongst gun aficionados. Also the weapon is intended with use of the 4.7x39mm high velocity ammunition which claims 100% penetration of CRISAT body Armour (1.6mm of Titanium plus 20 layers of Kevlar) at the distance of 280 meters.

The weapon features a comfortable soft polymer fore-grip which can be detached to reveal a medium length RAIL mount directly under the barrel for the attachment of tactical grips or laser sight or any other equipment which may be equipped on a RAIL system. Despite that the rifle also features a fully detachable and folding stock for comfortable shooting, or light weight, unhampered spraying on the go. The gun it’s self is athstetically pleasing and light, as well as being a scaled down version of the G-12 Asperitan standard issue assault rifles featuring all of it’s pros and less of it’s Cons. One of them being size and lack of recoil dampening. Also, the weapon if asked, can be made metal detector proof. In which integral parts are all changed to super high strength polymers and ceramics which not only makes the weapon heavier and not as reliable as it should be but it also makes it stealth and perfect operations. Ammunition of course isn't detectable as it is caseless, unless your using a ferrous metal cased/core bullet. Despite that this weapon is a prime choice for Special Operations personelle or Pilots due to it's reliability, simple construction, light weight, and comfortable forgrip and normal grip as well as folding stock. Also the Blue transparent sights make pointing and shooting a breeze, and even easier for repeated shooting because the sight is not obstrucing the target or surrounding it. It is giving the best of both worlds with none of the cons and so repeated firing is as easy as single shots and just as accurate as well.

Not only that but AS 4.7 and 5.7 ammunition comes with a small laminate which completely vaporizes with heat and get wiped clean from the chamber with the expanding gasses. The laminate acts as a waterproofer, and keeps in enought oxygen to allow for oxidation and combustion of the grains. Which in turn means this weapon can theoretically be fired in the vaccum of space or in underwater conditions(Not Recommended). Another reason 4.7 and 5.7 were chosen as the weapons main ammunition choices were that the bullets begin to tumble after a rather short distance causing much hydrostatic shock. Which in turn equals lots, and lots of stopping power, and not only that but range shouldn't be a concern with bullet tumbling as range would be concerned with use of Rifles or SMG's. The weapon also featues ajustable barrel weight rods which are are packaged with the gun. The rods are weighed at 5 lbs meaning, when inserted, make the gun 10.5 lbs total. The small cast-iron knob located just above and infront of the trigger guard can move the rod to the users prefrence making kick and uncomfortable felt recoil only small niuscences.

Aequatian Military Industries G65 Infantry Combat Rifle

Since the introduction of the new 6.35x45mm Aequatian Republic Army Munition, the only weapons to use the round were modified variants of previous weapons such as the G4 and G6 rifles and MG55A3 squad automatic weapon. It was seen by designers that a weapon was required to fully display the round's capabilities in armour penetration and accuracy. Engineers at A.M.I. designed the G65 rifle to replace the G4A1 and G6A1 rifles currently in service throughout the Aequatian service branches.

Although designed for the Aequatian 6.35x45mm ARAM round, it can also be fitted to accept 5.56x45mm and 7.62x51mm NATO, 5.45x39mm, 7.62x39mm and 5.8x42mm DBP87.

The Aequatian variant is fitted with an M80 Floating Dot Sight with an effective viewing range of up to 800mm. It can also be outfitted with a 40mm M206A1 grenade launcher for light infantry support and a full universal rail system.

Aequatian Military Industries MG85 Light Machinegun

The MG85 light machinegun was developed as a replacement for the venerable MG76A1 general-purpose machinegun. Although designated as a different weapon, it is nothing more than a continued refinement of the MG76A1 GPMG. It is fitted to fire in two separate modes, with a rate of 600 rounds per minute for use as a medium machinegun and 900 rounds per minute for use as a squad automatic weapon. It also fires the 8.5x65mm Aequatian Republic Army Munition Heavy Round.

M55 "Black Tiger" Main Battle Tank

The M55 Black Tiger main battle tank was designed as a replacement for the M2 Ankou tank, which was nothing more than an interim replacement for the failed M5 Gladiator II.

Armament

The standard main gun of Aequatian main battle tanks since the development of the original Gladiator I tank have been a combination of either the M40-series electrothermal chemical 120mm gun or the M70-series conventional 140mm smoothbore gun, the latter proving to be the more effective weapon when dealing with variety in ammuniton types. It was decided that new tests would need to be conducted in order to find the most effective multipurpose weapon for the XM5. Although the M40A2 120mm ETC gun has an impressive anti-armour capability, its range of ammunition limit the tank's usefulness in all types of warfare, the M70A1 140mm Smoothbore has an increased arsenal of ammunition types ranging from the anti-personnel M320 Canister rounds and M312 High-Explosive Fragmentation (HE-FRAG) to the M400 High-Explosive Anti-Tank (HEAT), M410 Armour-Peircing Fin-Stabilized Discarding Sabot (APFSDS) and M450 High-Explosive Dual-Purpose (HEDP) 140mm rounds and the gun-launched BGM-88 "Mace" Kinetic-Energy Missile, tanks armed with the M70-series guns had an advantage when operations changed. Although the M70-series guns had a large advantage over the M40-series ETC guns in direct combat, with a larger bore size, a tank with a 140mm gun would be unable to carry enough rounds for sustained operations, making the tanks slaves to their logistical train.

It was decided that the M55 would require a gun that would be useful in a number of environments and have ammunition for combat distances ranging from 100m and up to 15km. The latter would be achieved through the use of assisted rounds. A smaller bore size would also be required to allow the vehicle to be self-sufficient for a longer period of time.

The K1 High-Pressure 125mm Smoothbore gun is a redesigned M1000 variant, which was originally designed as part of the Joint Main Battle Tank project. The following rounds were also created for use in conjunction with the gun:

* M350 125mm Canister
* M401 125mm High-Explosive Anti-Tank (HEAT)
* M412 125mm Armour-Peircing Fin-Stabilized Discarding Sabot (APFSDS) - An interim replacement until a new KEM is developed.
* M454 125mm Multipurpose Anti-Tank (MPAT)

The use of venting and repressurization for gases allows for the gun to have a muzzle velocity of nearly 2,100m/s, providing its anti-tank rounds with an effective range of up to 5,500m. In addition to the main gun, the Black Tiger has an impressive array of secondary weapons. The first is a coaxially-mounted M2C1 12.7mm heavy machinegun. In addition to the coaxial autocannon, there will also be turret-mounted M2C1 12.7mm heavy machinegun.

Protection

Development has created the Mark II Vehicle Protection System (VPS) with the following layout:

External Layer - Uses the Aequatian-designed Helmet Mark II Explosive Reactive Armour to defeat tandem warhead weapons such as HEAT tank rounds and anti-tank guided missiles (ATGM). There will also be a Vehicle Dampening Layer (VDL) which helps to conceal the tank's infrared signature from anti-tank gunners using weapons such as the FGM-148 Javelin or AGM-65 Maverick.
First Layer - Bisplate Steel reinforced with Titanium Carbide-Cobalt Alloy to provide protection against smaller cannon rounds (76mm and under) and increases the resistance to enemy anti-tank weaponry such as kinetic-energy penetrators and shaped-charge warheads.
Second Layer - Hexagonal Boron Nitride Composite Mesh which is designed to defeat both kinetic-energy and explosively formed penetrators due to their extreme tensile strength (Up to 60 times stronger than Bisplate Steel) and low solid density and highly-efficient ballistic heat conduction, respectively.
Third Layer - Boron Carbide Coating over Tungsten Carbide-Cobalt Alloy Rods which run perpendicularly through a layer of Carbon-60 Ceramic Composite. It is intended to cause the points of high-velocity long-rod penetrator armour-piercing projectiles to deform, which causes the projectile to tip and strike the armour at an angle, presenting far greater surface area to the armour and therefore greatly increasing the resistance to an already weakened kinetic-energy weapon.
Fourth Layer - Borophosphosilicate Substrate Radiological and Electromagnetic Protection. Protects interior personnel and systems from radiation and electromagnetic (EM) threats respectively. Provides shielding for up to 16 kRads of radiation.
Fifth Layer - Kevlar/Neoprene Spaced Anti-Spall Protective Layer for interior crew and systems protection.

Propulsion

The powerplant question was one of the more difficult problems for the design team to solve, as there had been much discussion as to the effectivenss of the Quasiturbine engine design that had been a part of Aequatian tanks since the joint development of the XMBT-04 with Space Union. Before that time, powerful diesel engines were te favoured choice for tanks, ending with the mammoth 2,400hp V12 Biodiesel Engine aboard the Predator II main battle tank. The XMBT-04 program brought forth the concept of the Quasiturbine for tank designs and was adopted for use in following vehicles, including the Incubus, Lancer, Banshee, Panther and Lion tanks.

The Quasiturbine engine that will be used in the M55 will be a carriaged two-port, four chamber rotary design. The four chamber design was chosen as it increases the effieciency as it allows for a continuous combustion which provides a full burn of the fuel. Although one of the largest benefits of the design is that it can universally accept all fuel types such as petrol, diesel, hydrogen and biowastes with very little modification. Strategic benefits of the Quasiturbine include its ease of maintainance, as there is only a single moving part, problems which arise in the field can be easily solved without having to withdraw the vehicle for lengthy repair procedures. Without a complex engine with a large number of moving parts, the engine provides support personnel with a simple and easy machine to work with.

Other advantages include the cylinder ports in place of valves reduce the number of moving parts, in common with the Wankel engine and some two stroke engines. The carriages keep the seals almost perpendicular to the cylinder walls, in contrast to the Wankel engine where the angle varies plus and minus 60°. The rotor can be designed so its centre of gravity remains stationary or nearly so, minimising vibration. As well, the engine provides up to sixteen strokes per revolution of the rotor, as opposed to twelve for a single-rotor Wankel engine and two for a revolution of the crankshaft of a single-cylinder single-acting piston engine, allowing for greater output of power.

Although an impressive machine, the design is not without its disadvantages, including its high temperature that is produced, especially when diesel and biowaste fuels are used. Despite this, the engine is seen as having enough benefits to offset this disadvantage. As well, the Vehicle Dampening Layer (VDL) helps to conceal the heat signature produced by the tank.

Crew Compliment and Interior

The interior of the M55 has been designed for optimum crew efficiency. The crew compartment is spacious enough for the crew to perform their duties without adding unecessary stress or pressure on the personnel. To fulfill this requirement, the interior of the tank is comparitively larger than those of other vehicles. The vehicle will carry a crew of four, a commander, driver, gunner and loader, forgoing the automatic loading system absent from all Aequatian tank designs after being considered a liability when the gun is damaged by enemy fire.

The Black Tiger has the traditional number for its crew complement, a commander, gunner, driver and loader for the main gun. The commander is seated on the right-side of the turret and is in control of the vehicle's FLIR and BICS systems which the Gunner sits to the left of the main gun and controls the traverse of the turret and the elevation and depression of the M1000 125mm cannon. The driver sits low in the hull centered at the front of the vehicle and has a display for the ABICS, in closed down conditions, he will be seated supine, but can sit up straight when open. The assistant is stationed at the rear of the turret and can activate the extinguisher for the ammunition compartment should it be ignited by enemy fire.

For most of the part all electronics are kept in the front of the vehicle to insure that they are not damaged as easily should an enemy round penetrate the turret armour. Each crewmember has a display screen that is specifically for supportign their role in the tank. The commander also has a main screen which has a constant uplink to both the Clear Sight Network and Advanced Battlefield Information Control System. The vehicle's central processing unit is located underneath the commander's seat. This allows for optimum compactness for the computer and allows it to not interfere with the duties of the crew. The engine is located in the front of the vehicle so that the tank has the most protection available to it. This ensures that there is a lower chance of a round destroying the engine and leaving the crew stranded in the middle of a fierce firefight or in enemy territory. The fuel compartment, crew compartment and engine have been reinforced with a layer of Bisplate steel reinforced with a Titanium Carbide-Cobalt Alloy. This has allowed for better survivability of all the vital components of the M55 without adding substancial weight to the overall vehicle.

We feel that the combination of armoured protection and amphibious capability is a contradiction in that the weight levels required for increased protection negates a self-propelled amphibious capability. We can provide the vehicle with a field kit that can be attached to provide the vehicle with amphibious capability though.

We do not feel that an anti-aircraft system installed on the tank is beneficial to the design, as the only truly effective system would require the installation of an active detection system and would increase the vehicle's signature on the battlefield, making it a liability. We can install a large-calibre automatic cannon for use against low-level aircraft on the turret roof.

For the design, we will be using the hull and chassis of the M55 Black Tiger main battle tank with a different gun, using a low-pressure 155mm gun which is also capable of firing an ATGM, most likely the Aequatian BGM-88 Mace Kinetic-Energy Missile. Vehicle survivability can be increased with the installation of explosive reactive armour to defeat infantry anti-tank weapons with HEAT warheads such as the RPG-7 and AT-4 launchers and improvised explosive devices. The microwave field emitter, currently in testing with the M55A1 main battle tank, installed coaxial to the main gun helps to defeat remote detonator electronics. As a secondary solution, the installation of an armoured dozer blade will help in defeating enemy explosives.

The various rebel groups seem to be getting a great deal of new equipment from somewhere, and we have captured it for ourselves whenever possible, but their small arms use different caliber bullets than we do. This is most likely intentional, as it means we would have to retool ammunition factories to use the captured weapons.

Our soldiers need their new guns, and if you have to compromise on the final design of the rifle (our list of features was quite a tall order), that is fine, so long as it nicely fills the role it is intended for. Please, send news soon, it would greatly increase the morale of our troops in the field.

Although the lead designer of the R9 Project didn’t know it at the time, Sergei Miklotov was in fact a very distant relative of Mikhail Kalashnikov. Working with other designers of the Agrondov National Munitions Corporation, Sergei developed the R9D Rifle Family with only the briefing of ‘Design me the next AK-47!’

Unfortunately, he is currently serving a long term sentence in an Agrondov prison for miscellaneous heresy crimes.

His creation, however, it still out in the world. Already selected as the next rifle for Agrondovian military service, this weapon takes many aspects from its spiritual predecessor.

Made from high-quality reinforced polymers with a steel frame, the R9D is an extremely sturdy rifle. Should any part become damaged, its modular design allows any component to be replaced in seconds. Due to this design, the rifle can be broken down without tools into its 7 key parts.

Perhaps the most remarkable feature of the R9D is its sheer ruggedness. Operable in any environment by anyone with basic training, the R9D uses relatively few moving parts pre-coated in dry lubricant. This means that the rifle requires little maintenance, although it is recommended for optimal performance.

Combined with the short-stroke operation to eliminate residue in the firing chamber, the R9D is a very reliable rifle. The rounds used are ample to clear minor obstacles form the barrel, and a unique ejection system ensures that any ‘dud’ rounds are cleared as fast as a spent case would be.

A proprietary rail system gives each weapon four accessory mounts (One on the carry handle, three on the lower barrel piece.). Currently, the ANMC produces high quality Tac-Lights, Scopes and Grenade Launchers for use with the R9D. However, this rail system will accept most common accessories and the ANMC encourages third party add-ons for the R9D. There is also a 15mm mount for laser/light equipment on the carry handle.

Another aspect designed to cater for export is the magazine housing of the rifle. It can be easily replaced to accept a different magazine type, although the barrel and trigger block would have to be replaced as well to accept a different caliber.

By default, the rifle accepts 6.8x42mm ammunition for the standard and carbine variants, and 10.8x42mm ammunition for the sniper and support models. All rifles in the R9 family are equipped with a very strong skeletal folding stock, which folds to the right and does not interfere with the rifle’s operation.

Although the rifle does not require electricity to function, all accessories are powered by a battery in the trigger block and connected by internal wiring and the rails themselves.

This variant of the rifle is subcompact whilst still in full caliber, delivering lots of stopping power in a concealable and transportable package.

M4A3 Spartan Mechanized Combat Vehicle


Overview

The improvement programme for the Spartan Mechanized Combat Vehicle comes after the reviews of combat operations in The World Soviet Party against the mercenary forces of the Griffincrest Corporation and the heavily armoured Stormtroopers of the nation of Undershi, where many of the systems already installed on the M4A2 Spartan were seen as ineffective. The improvements are set to increase the effectiveness of all systems aboard the Spartan MCV, nearly rendering it a completely new vehicle.

Passenger Capacity and Organization

The Spartan, like all armoured personnel carriers and infantry combat vehicles, has its powerpack placed in the front of the vehicle to not only allow for the passenger compartment in the rear of the vehicle but to also provide additional protection against enemy rounds from the front. The vehicle’s turret is offset to the right of the hull, allowing for a passageway to the driver’s compartment (important for easier recovery an injured driver as opposed to attempting to recover him or her from the driver’s hatch) and allows for the installation of additional space for two mounted soldiers.

The rear passenger compartment allows for up to eight soldiers and their equipment (6 in compartment seats and 2 to left of turret ring) along with the three person vehicle crew including the vehicle commander, driver and gunner. A Spartan Combat Team (SCT) mounted in a Spartan MCV consists of seven personnel with the following roles:

The teams are organized into Squads, with two of the Spartan Combat Teams per squad and the squad leader acting as the vehicle commander for the lead M4A3 MCV. The squad leader performs his duties in managing the squad’s actions (the two team leaders reporting back to him or her) as the squad leader can be fully integrated with the Command Net using cybernetic implants or genomics. Each infantryman is connected to the Team Net which is managed by the Team Leader, who also has a connection with the other team leader in the squad to the Squad Net, commanded by the squad leader, who is integrated into the lead vehicle and has a connection to the Platoon Net. The Squad Net, as it is used by the soldiers in the field, function in much the same was as a pilot’s Heads Up Display, connecting them to their team members through Vision Interceptors (built in monitoring device installed within the brain which saves what is seen through a person’s eyesight) and allowing them to view through their teammates’ sight, displaying their weapons for ammunition count, weapon condition and sighting and distance controls. Anti-Tank Specialists are also integrated with their M7A2 light assault weapons, allowing them to detect their targets with both the their own night vision built into their optic implants and the weapon’s thermal viewer. Communications are conducted through secured wireless connections and can be performed without audible, external conversation. Team members and leaders can pass orders and information to each other simply by switching to the transmit channel and speaking with their inner monologue. This allows for both secured communications from enemy interception and provides the unit’s electronics officers to monitor the network for any enemy infiltration and immediately initiate countermeasures. Although the squad leader is connected to the YUK-140 Computer, he can be disconnected from the vehicle and integrated with Squad Net using the wireless connection to provide the squad with an additional soldier.

Armament Systems

The primary armament of the M4A3 Spartan mechanized combat vehicle is the turret-mounted, computer-controlled gyrostabilized 40mm M132 Automatic Cannon. The development of the 40mm M132 Automatic Cannon began as a replacement for the 35mm M125 Automatic Cannon which has been in service as the standard small caliber cannon since it replaced the original 25mm M242 Bushmaster cannon. The design requirements are different however for the M132 cannon compared to the older M125 since the latter was originally designed as an area suppression weapon for use against enemy infantry units and a later developed to use anti-armour rounds, the former will be designed from the outset as an accurate, anti-armour weapon with area suppression capability.

The M132 cannon is a recoil-operated, self-loading weapon with an electromagnetic assist which is capable of firing repetitive shots and short bursts of up to eight rounds (two clips of four rounds each), and has a cyclic rate of fire of 80 rounds per minute. Ammunition is fed in four-round clips with the empty shell cases being ejected forwards out of the weapon to avoid turret clutter. The weapon operates on a long-recoil system (much like the 30mm L21A1 RARDEN cannon) in which both the barrel and breech initially close together. To allow for spent ammunition casings to be ejected, the barrel recoil ceases while the breech continues to extract the spent cartridge case, which is then ejected forward out of the turret. The barrel then moves forward again, following after an interval by the breech which loads another round.

The cannon uses a smoothbore barrel, for the use of its primary armour-peircing discarding sabot tracer (APDS-T) ammunition, which also benefits from electromagnetic (EM) rails along its length to maintain a high velocity for the rounds being fired so as to produce the optimal striking velocity of 1,900m/s. The system is fully enclosed and the internal section of the weapon only protrudes a mere 50cm into the turret space. The gun is charged by a small, powered cocking/loading handle and no fumes can penetrate the turret. The cannon has a double feeder, allowing for two types of ammunition to be ready for firing which are preloaded with a clip of both M950 High-Explosive Airburst (HEAB) and M951 Armour-Piecring Discarding Sabot Tracer (APDS-T). The vehicle carries a total of 120 HEAB and 80 APDS-T rounds.

The primary ammunition type of the M132 cannon is the M951 armour-piercing discarding sabot tracer (APDS-T) round using a depleted Uranium kinetic-energy penetrator with a 13.5mm diameter and 108mm length. With the use of the electromagnetic rails along the barrel of the cannon, the round can achieve up to 1,850m/s upon striking a target, allowing for almost 400mm of penetration against Rolled Homogenous Armour equivalent.

Secondary ammunition for the weapon include the M950 high-explosive airburst (HEAB) which contains a proximity fuse which is set to the distance determined by the vehicle’s laser rangefinder. Although it can be used in its primary fashion, it may also be used as a standard HE-FRAG round, especially in urban terrain, where its proximity fuse can be set to delay detonation after the round has penetrated an obstacle such as a wall or building.

The vehicle has also been provided with an M3 “Twinpack II” Launcher for the effective BGM-225 Goblin-series optically-guided anti-tank missiles. The launcher, as its name implies, holds two preloaded rounds while another eight are carried inside the vehicle for reloading through a door atop the passenger compartment. The missiles carried can consist of both the A and B variants, ammunition load outs for the weapons are chosen by the unit commander in the theatre of operations. Mounted coaxially to the M132 cannon is an 8.5mm MG85 light machinegun which is also stabilized, allowing for firing on the move, and carries a total of 1,000 rounds of ammunition with a 1:6 ratio of tracer/ball ammunition.

Don't think I've forgotten about this post, I'll get the math done for it eventully.

As for the device floating above the UNISUV-2 M1183 Engineer Support Vehicle, it is a Laser Ordinance Neutralization System (LONS), it is a solid-state laser for use in Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) duties. It can be attached to the roof of the vehicle while its powerplant and control systems are installed in the back passenger compartment.

Aequatian Military Industries G28 Infantry Combat Rifle

With the development of the G65A1 carbine and G70 battle rifle and both weapons being adopted by the Army and Marine Corps respectively, a problem of logistics was realized as a common ammunition was no logner in use by all of the Aequatian branches. The Army's requirements called for a lightweight round which was capable of effective armour penetration (6.35x45mm) while the Marines prefered a long-range, accurate round (8.5x60mm). It was seen by a joint task force of personnel from both the Army and Marine Training and Doctrine Commands that a common cartridge was needed and that a comprimise could be reached.

The Army/Marine Joint Development looked towards Russkyan designs for a new common munition for the service rifle. What was originally examined was the 9.3x39mm Armour-Piercing Fragmenting Jacket (APFJ) round.

Armour Piercing Fragmenting Jacket (APFJ) ammunition has been developed for the 9.3x39mm cartridge, a move inspired by the .40 DDI (10x23mm Bottleneck) cartridge found in the Doomingslandi TDX .40 Caliber Standard Issue Sidearm.

The new APFJ ammunition consists of a round with a pointed tungsten nose and core section which is surrounded by a blended metal jacket which flattens upon impact with a hardened surface, or an object that is unable to be penetrated, such as a protective vest.

Should this happen, the nose and core are able to continue penetrating; initial tests of APFJ ammunition in 9.3x39mm indicate Level IV armour is penetrated at 500 meters. Upon penetrating an armoured target the hardened tungsten nose and core begin to tumble. With unarmoured targets, the case expands and fragments as the round penetrates; creating a very large wound from the fragments, and a very difficult to treat wound from the tumbling core. APFJ ammunition has a much higher velocity than other 9.3x39mm cartridges.

The round was sized down into the 6.5x55mm and the bolt and feeding mechanism from the G65A1 carbine was altered to take the new round, allowing for greater performance by the weapon. The round will replace the 6.35x45mm ARAM cartridge in all other Aequatian service weapons, including the G65A1 carbine and MG66 squad automatic weapon. (G65A2 and MG66A1 respectively)

The Aequatian variant is fitted with an M80A Floating Dot Sight with an effective viewing range of up to 1,000m. It can also be outfitted with a 40mm M206A1 grenade launcher for light infantry support and a full universal rail system.
