Statement from the Government of the Holy Islamic Republic of Malgeria:

Several days ago the pure government of the now free Islamic Republic was given an ultimatum by the aryan infidels of Parthia. They demanded that the Malgerian people surrender their freedom that they had only just weeks ago taken from the corrupt western puppet government that had so callously ruled over the dominion of Allah. For thirty years, the mujahideen of Malgeria had battled their oppressors under the leadership of the great and wise Imam Abdul-Bari in a struggle that turned many a man into a martyr for the holy cause in the hope of finally tasting the dream of a pure Islamic state free from the worldly tyranny of the corrupt. Finally, we have achieved this, and we breathe a freer air because of our struggle.

Parthia would have this not be so. The infidel dogs would see us burn again under the chafing chains of enslavement. They would see our women made impure and our lands scorched. They would see us suffer, defeated and slaughtered like cattle.

But I tell you now that they shall never see this. The Persian dogs shall never find victory in Malgeria, for Allah and his people shall never let be what the infidels so desire. The Parthian lands symbolize all that we continue to struggle against. This cave of evil and sodomy blinds the Persian infidels from the just will of Allah. To their demands we have but one answer, and that is we shall never submit to any mortal overlord except for the one eternal creator. Come with your armies, bring your weapons of death and destruction and we shall stand tall and spit in your eyes, knowing that the eternal will of Allah favors his people.

Brothers under the creator, fellow Muslims of all race and sect, Malgeria calls to you! Join us in this great Jihad against the evil of Parthia that would wish you broken and destroyed! Prove to the world that the will of Allah is stronger than that of any oppressors. The time is now to unite as brothers, for only then may we truly stand against the wave of hatred that stems from those who are blind to the righteous path. Stand and fight with us as Mujahideen, and we shall triumph for the everlasting glory of the Eternal Creator.

Across the Malgerian lands, the call had gone out. The Mujahideen warriors who had only weeks ago ended a thirty year battle against the oppression of a corrupt king now picked up their weapons again, readying themselves for a struggle to decide the fate of the free Islamic republic. The mosques were packed that evening as a sense of devotion previously unseen in Malgeria swept over the land. There was no fear in the hearts of the people, for they knew that the will of Allah was stronger than that of any oppressors.

In his simple Spartan quarters in the former palace of the deposed King, Imam Abdul-Bari knelt on a prayer rug, softly uttering holy words to the creator. Peace was over him like a blanket, and it radiated to all in his presence, seeming to seep forth from the room, through the halls, and out over the city of Malger. The velvet Arabian sky was clear and the stars shone brightly, as if Allah was reassuring his people. Under threat of destruction, absolute devotion had been found.

Though not a brother under Allah, the Holy Islamic Republic thanks you for your offer. “You’ve got ten minutes, Hassan,” said Sheikh Abdallah, folding his hands in front of himself neatly, in a way that very visibly displayed his gold Rolex.

Abdallah was famous for this sort of thing: he liked his meetings kept short and to the point. With Hassan, that was doubly important: the former DJ had the Gift of Gab.

“At your leisure,” said Hassan, “you can read these proposals. They have all the details. I’ll stick to the executive summary.”

Refreshing, though Abdallah wryly.

“There’s been a lot of talk about how much of a boondoggle it was to upgrade our TV and radio facilities to satellite operations. Now you and I know that the Empty Quarter is way too big for broadcasting to work any other way, and we needed broadcasting. We discussed this at length three years ago, and I don’t see the need to repeat it.”

“I’m wondering if that was a wise decision, given the shortage of funds that came with the following year’s recession,” said Abdallah baldly. “I’ve drawn a lot of fire for those expenditures.”

Hassan shook his head. “You know it was the right thing to do. Now I want to prove that.”

“How?” shot back Abdallah.

“We have two advantages here in Ayad over everyone else when it comes to broadcasting: first, we’re the only trusted voice.

“The Coastal Republics have state-run networks that openly slant the news to fit their national perceptions. Even people who share those perceptions know that everything they see is from an ‘official’ perspective. Consequently news programs consistently rate lower than any other form of content coming from these sources.”

Abdallah nodded. You only had to listen to the ridiculous claims and counterclaims of the Ayuddhi and Ayoddhi media with regards to their worsening border dispute to see the bias. And Ayaddha’s media were no better.

“People trust the Imam of Qu’um, but the only TV station there is on the air for only four hours a day. They have radio stations, too, but their reach is short and their content local,” continued Hassan. “And as for Qu’umah, the mountains block their signals.”

Abdallah waited, looking at his watch. Hassan tried to conceal his anxiety at this gesture.

“That leaves the World Service of the Allemande Broadcasting Corporation. People trust ABC, but it’s still a … foreign - a Western - point of view. Even if it’s largely sympathetic, it’s still not Ayadi.

“In contrast, you are the one person in all of Ayad who everyone trusts – at least after the Imam. Your family has established itself as a benefactor to Ayadis for centuries in its role as Protectors of the Lesser Haj.”

Abdallah nodded. It was true, of course. The Lesser Haj was a tradition dating back well before the arrival of Islam in the 14th Century. Some said that the traditional pilgrimage to the old Cloister of Kho Huom and the ancient grotto beneath its walls went back two thousand years. After Ayad had embraced Islam, the Cloister had been converted into the Rose Mosque, and – thanks to the miracles experienced during that conversion – the Grotto was holier than ever.

The trek to Kho Huom – Qu’um now – was difficult, especially for the inhabitants of Ayad’s well-populated northwest coast. Bandits, wildlife, and the elements had always been a problem (and not necessarily in that order). For over a thousand years, Abdallah’s family had the proud responsibility of protecting and escorting wayfarers, from the Sisters of the old pre-Islamic matriarchy to the Hajjis of today.

“You are the only person who everyone in Ayad can trust,” repeated Hassan, “at least among those who have a major broadcasting network. And that brings us to the second advantage: yours is the only network in Ayad with global reach.”

“Global?” asked Abdallah. “Don’t you mean across Ayad?”

“No,” replied Hassan. “I mean global – across the planet.”

Abdallah had to work to keep from gaping as Hassan continued. “We have two news channels, a dozen historical and cultural channels, some channels for imported content – mostly from Allemande – some local access channels, and – because we were planning ahead – a lot of data connectivity to support our operations on the Internet. We can reach Ayadis overseas, but more than that, we can reach everyone overseas.”

“Go on,” said Abdallah. He had stopped looking at his watch.

“We can compete with the likes of Al Jazeera to be the ‘official’ Moslem voice, and take advantage of the fact that – like a majority of Moslems worldwide, we’re not Arabs. Yes, we speak Arabic, and we’ve adopted many Arab customs, but inside we remain what we have always been – Ayadis.

“That makes us more attractive to non-Arab Moslems, who sometimes resent the … I guess this is impolite, but I can think of no better world … arrogance of the people who share the blood of the Prophet. That and we don’t have the violent reputation, which makes us safer to the rest of the world. Exotic enough to be different, but safer.

“What will that get us?” asked Abdallah, as if he didn’t know the answer.

“Two things. Advertising revenue – that’s the obvious win. But more importantly than that, exposure.”

“Exposure?” Abdallah was somewhat taken off guard.

“Yes, exposure.” Hassan leaned closer, almost conspiratorially. “The economy of the Empty Quarter has always depended on tourism, in one way or another. It’s why we have one of the highest per capita incomes in all of Ayad, even with the recent recession. I propose that we market something that we Ayadis have always known of, but that the rest of the world will find intriguing. I propose we tout the life-changing qualities of the Lesser Haj.”

“You’re suggesting that we promote pilgrimage to Qu’um?” Abdallah asked.

“Yes. Those of us who have taken both pilgrimages know that the Greater Haj – the journey to Mecca – is a life transforming event. But it is even more powerful if you’ve been to the Grotto of Qu’um.”

This Abdallah knew from his own experience. It has just never occurred to him that anyone outside Ayad might feel that way.

“So you want to go global and promote the Lesser Haj,” Abdallah repeated.

“Eventually. First we need to get on the map, so to speak,” said Hassan. “There’s only one sure way to do that.”

Abdallah waited for the other shoe to drop.

“Do what made CNN and Al Jazeera household names. Cover a war in the most candid fashion imaginable. Show everything, withhold nothing,” finished Hassan.

“Did you have a particular war in mind?” Abdallah knew he did.

“Yes. With your permission, I’d like to begin round-the-clock, no holds barred coverage of the coming War in Malgeria.”

OOC: The game effect will be to make the struggle between Malgeria and Parthia even more visible to Moslems. This will likely improve the amount of foreign political and financial support the Malgerians enjoy. It may also lead to individuals from all over the world volunteering to go to Malgeria and fight for that country.

Both sides involved in this conflict acted like utter fools. We are tied very closely to Islam, being located in a formerly-Islamic country, with a 78% population of Muslims. Even so, we admit that Malgeria started this conflict, both diplomatically and militarily.

The idiots that run the show at Malgeria could have been more civilized in dealing with the Parthian threats. You had a golden opportunity. The mighty forces of the Infernal Demonic Dominion, being very close to Parthian lands, could have come to your aid if the Parthians had started the war against Islam.

But now, with the declaration of this Jihad of yours, bask in your ignorance, fools! Suffer the horrible wrath of Parthia as it sweeps through your countries. You were barely able to stand on your own feet as it was, but you insisted on poking the beehive with a hand full of honey.

The Valley of Death is longing for your misguided souls. May God have mercy on you, for you will suffer, then suffer some more, then die a horrible death.

To Parthia, you are our allies, but be wary of how you speak on international diplomatic channels. What you said was unwise, and someone will decide to make you will pay for such words someday. We address you, instead of the band of thieves that oppose you: choose diplomacy over war, for war leaves even the mightiest of nations vulnerable.

The Persian navy set out from the port of Bandar Abbas and began to move out towards the nation of Malgeria. It was a formidable military force being transported, 3 Armor divisions for a total of 3,000 M1-A6s, 20 Infantry divisions of 20,000 men each, and the Soldiers of Persepolis, one of the Immortals divisions, men trained since birth to serve the Shah. Carrier aircraft soared overhead as the fleet moved towards Malgeria. Within a few days (whenever you think is appropriate Malgeria), they would arrive and begin their destruction.

The Parthian fleet was into the Arabian sea, moving rapidly to the nation of Malgeria, not far off the Arabian peninsula. Marshall Bahari had developed the invasion plan for Operation Zurvan, the destruction of the barbarians of Malgeria. Planes in Parthian Oman were within striking distance of the Arab hordes, and strike the planes would. Satellites were flying over Malgeria and looking for targets. Cities would be flattened and the people butchered or enslaved. If they attempted sucide attacks, they would be killed along with their families. Parthia would tolerate nothing.

“You want us to check the equipment again?!?” exclaimed Mustafa. “How many times do we have to check it?!?”

“As often as I ask you to,” replied Fatima tartly.

She ignored the grumbling. Her colleagues grumbled about everything: the equipment checks, the food, even (and maybe most vociferously) about their choice of hotels.

Everybody else had picked one of the large hotels near Embassy Row as their base of operations. Not Fatima: she had chosen a nearly abandoned hotel that had been finished just a month before the fall of Malger. It stood next to an industrial park that had yet to be developed, which meant that there was no demand for its hospitality at all. The owner had agreed to let them set up operations there for a handsome fee, and had left only a skeleton staff. But there were lots of provisions and – most importantly of all from Fatima’s point of view – it stood well away from the city center.

The view was quite good: from the roof, you could see both the center of Malger and the airport, albeit at quite some distance. Not that Fatima and her crew were on the roof; they had set up shop in the basement, adjacent to the hotel’s massive parking garage. From here, they’d wired connections to three remote controlled cameras positioned on the roof.

The cameras had been Fatima’s idea; these were standard police surveillance cameras, all the rage throughout Ayad’s populous coastal regions. One of Fatima’s college roommates from her foreign studies in Allemande, another well-connected Ayadi girl, had married a rising star in the Al’Kesh Metropolitan Police Force, up in Ayaddha; twenty of the cameras had been furnished in exchange for future considerations (meaning favorable press coverage somewhere down the line). It was a fair trade.

Her colleagues had been surprised by the strategy. Usually foreign correspondents of all stripes hung together. This was not a matter of camaraderie; it was a matter of logistical necessity. As reporting grew to rely on ever more advanced technology, reporters had to be concerned about equipment failure. Consequently, they hung together, allowing them to borrow and share gear as circumstance demanded.

Fatima was taking a risk by isolating herself from the rest of the press corps, but her small band of brothers and sisters (nine in all, including herself) was extraordinarily well equipped and quite talented (not to mention resourceful). It was a risk she felt she needed to take: she believed that the city center would be pounded, and didn’t put it past the Parthians to deliberately target the foreign press corps. And if they used nuclear weapons…

She shuddered. She had consciously planned for that, right down to secretly packing radiation badges, burn ointment, artificial skin, and iodine tablets. But planning for it didn’t mean she wanted to see it.

One of her researchers, Naomi, interrupted her musings. “We should eat before they close the kitchen.”

Fatima looked at the clock. Naomi was right. “Mustafa, have you eaten?”

“Yes,” he lied. He got this way when he was nervous, chain-smoking and not eating. She’d bring something back from the kitchen and force it on him later. Excusing herself, she and Naomi slipped out of the control room and headed upstairs, fastening their veils.

She had insisted that the ANN team treat each other as family and relax the rules regarding public behavior in each others presence. “Starting now, you are all brothers and sisters. Act accordingly.” That meant wearing casual dress in the control room, but the restaurant would be another matter.

A few minutes later, Naomi and Fatima were sipping water with lemon while waiting for kebobs (one of the better items on the menu). She gossiped with Naomi while watching workmen take down chandeliers, board up windows, and run tape across the mirrors for good measure. It was then that she looked over at the restaurant entrance and saw a ghost.

“Hello, Fatima,” said Justin DeVry, striding up in sunglasses, khaki dockers, and a white long sleeve shirt, cameraman and sound technician in tow. “I heard you were in Malger, but I hardly expected to find you out here.”

How did he do that? Even in a veil, he could always recognize her instantly; he’d be able to do that from the moment they met in college.

She sighed. Justin was the last … distraction … she needed at the moment, and he probably knew it. She wished – neither for the first nor the last time – that he wasn’t so stubbornly Catholic.

The Parthians are nothing but blond hair and blue eyes.....it is a condemnation from Allah that The Parthians are always having an eternal blonde moment.

20 Islamic Jihad al-nasr Divisions of 20,000 soldiers each, and 10 Mujahideen al-nasr divisions of 10,000 soldiers each shall be sent to your lands to aid you in the defence of Islam and your freedom from the corrupt infidels, as well as as 2,000 Islam al-nasr MBT's. Islamic Jihad al-nasr Navy Carrier ships of as yet unknown number as well as battleships and submarines shall also seek to aid you in your waters.

Allah willing, victory is assured.

Justin and Fatima sat in the courtyard of the small restaurant, comparing notes with Steve, a Carthaginian reporter from Lightning Star. At the other end of the table, Fatima’s crew eagerly talked shop with Justin’s people, while Steve’s photographer, a young fellow who was also (quite curiously) named Steve, sat entranced playing with his GameBoy. Some new thing called “Resident Evil” or such…

Steve was pontificating on and on about that morning’s rally, in which they had witnessed over 20,000 people chanting, firing weapons into the air, and waving large placards bearing the likeness of the Imam Abdul-Bari. It was meant to show Malgerian resolve, but Steve thought it was foolish.

Malgerian Rally Photo #1 (http://auto_sol.tao.ca/images/05iraq_slide01-161.jpg)
Malgerian Rally Photo #2 (http://auto_sol.tao.ca/images/ij-sol-218.jpg)

“They should have held a candlelight vigil or something, like Allemander college students protesting their cause du jour,” he snorted. “All they’ve done is demonstrate the obvious to the Shah: that with 133 million fanatically devoted people living here, there’s no way the Parthians can possibly conquer this country – at least not with the half million men they’re sending this way.” Steve laced the iced tea that the waiter had just brought him with a short shot of vodka from his hip flask, and then gave the man a few bills.

Fatima knew the answer to her question before she asked it, but her mother had always told her to let others speak their minds even when you knew what they had to say. “Why? The Parthians outclass the MLF by a long shot.”

“The Americans outclassed the Iraqis by a long shot, too,” he replied, scornfully. “But 100,000 men to occupy a nation of 25 million? What were they thinking? The odds here are no better, and even if the Parthians are as brutal as they were in our borderlands, it won’t do them any good. A country this size could devour an army twice their size, and not even feel the need to burp.”

“So you think the Parthians will lose?” she asked, sipping her mango smoothie.

“No, on the contrary. I think they’ll turn this country into glass and go home before they get themselves into any real trouble. You heard that Abu Arabia is massing an army as large as the Parthian expeditionary force, right? If this goes on for any length of time, it could turn ugly,” he shook his head.

“So this morning’s rally…” she began.

“Was the worst possible thing that could happen,” Steve snorted. “Not only does it show the Parthians that blast-and-run is their only option, but it convinces them that they have to take out Malgeria. They see an Islamic state and think ‘jihad’ and ‘terror’. Can’t see through the rhetoric. This is all about words.”

“I have to agree,” observed Justin, stirring his iced tea (sans liquor). “Except that where most people think Malgeria started it by declaring a ‘jihad’ against Parthia, I would have to say that the Shah started it when he demanded that Malgeria become a tributary of his empire. That was a flat-out act of aggression.”

“You Allemanders are too inflexible in your thinking!” harrumphed Steve. “No wonder you like Moslems so much, in spite of your heritage.” He leaned closer. “To the older nations of the world, the ancient empires, a ‘tributary’ relationship is simply a deal, an acknowledgement of the pecking order. The Shah wanted Malgeria to kowtow before him, to demonstrate that it wasn’t a threat. When they didn’t, they declared themselves an enemy in his eyes and he mobilized. It’s nothing a score of post-medieval potentates wouldn’t have done.”

“But the post-colonial nations hear ‘tributary’ and think colony,” replied Justin coolly. “The Shah can’t be so tone deaf not to see that.”

“There are expectations at court that must be met,” pontificated Steve. “He can’t look weak.”

“Anyway,” Steve finished, “This is my last day. We’re pulling out while we can.”

Fatima and Justin both sat upright, startled. “You not going to stay to cover this?!?” she asked with astonishment.

Steve shook his head. “No, I want to live. I find nuclear fireballs bad for my complexion.”

“Now where’s that waiter with my hamburger?!?” he growled.

The Shah sat with his war ministers within the Palace of Persepolis, crowded around an oak table and with grim looks upon their faces, they spoke their concerns. Jamshid Farmanesh, Minister of Intelligence spoke first, "My lord, the Arab barbarian allies have sent a force about equal to ours in size. Their quality is probably poor, But I assume they will become insurgents once they are defeated. We need more men to utterly crush them. I recommend a large part of the Oman garrison be deployed to assist them. The Shah and Marshall Bahari nodded in agreement. Khosru then spoke, “Fine then, we can deploy a part of the garrison in addition to using Oman to strike the Malgerian nation. Marshall, what do you recommend we send?” Lord-Marshall Bahari nodded and then spoke, “Ten more infantry division and two divisions of armor. That gives us 2,000 M1-A6s and 200,000 more men. Unlike Western Powers, this will be enough to crush insurgencies by sheer brutality if need be, and you have given the order to blow up their cities if too much resistance occurs. I don’t think even suicidal Arabs make a difference if their cities are destroyed and villages enslaved.” The Shah smiled in agreement, and with that, the Persian forces were preparing to leave Oman and meet up with the main Persian navy.

IC:

The golden sun glowed and sprinkled upon the seas around Malgeria as The Islamic al-nasr Khilafah Navy deployed to aid Malgeria sailed ever nearer to the land of Malgeria, to land at the designated ports.

The deployed soldiers of The Islamic Jihad al-nasr Divisions and Mujahideen al-nasr Divisions aboard the ships and planes heading for Malgeria were highly skilled, efficient, ruthless.

Their desert camoflague helmets shaded their fearless eyes, eyes that betrayed the thinkings of the soul that felt no remorse for those who got in the way of the cause and mission that must be accomplished, a cold, uncompromising steely stare of the focus, and the determination of being victorious.

They were equipped with the latest assault rifles, grenades, heavy machine guns, Al-nasr shield (Kevlar) and other equipment usual for the soldiers in any combat deployment.

In a long pocket in the back of their uniform, and resting on the soldier's back downwards was the traditional Sword of The Khilafah, waiting to be drawn, to be used in close quarters or summary executions. The Khilafah dagger, also to be used in close quarters, rested in their left jacket pocket.

Within the ships, and the planes, as the engines rumbled around them, some of the soldiers knocked their Ammo magazines against their helmets, muttering in low voices, "Allahu Ackhbar" as they did so.

They were professional, highly trained, and high in morale.

The Caliph had told the population of The Islamic al-nasr Khilafah on the TV, Radio, and via the imams of the many mosques in the Khilafah, of the aid being given to the fellow muslim nation of Malgeria.

A hard, unwavering resolve set in to the population and soldiers in huge support.

The soldiers aboard the ships and planes occasionally looked at each other, temporarilly disturbed from their focus, and they would stare at each other, and nod in that act of brotherly unity and understanding so common in brothers in arms.

War is coming.

<theme music fades out>

The pretty young anchor spoke in fluent, well-educated English. This was ANN's foreign language newsstream, and so she wore a modest, yet attractive Western business attire - and no head covering.

"This afternoon's guest is Ret. Major General George Reine, who served with the Allamander Defense Department for a number of years in operational planning. General, what challenges do the two sides face in the coming battle?"

"While most of the focus has been on the fact that this will be a fight over a largely arid, somewhat rough coastal region with rich inland oilfields, I see control of the sea as the principal determining factor," replied the General.

"How so?"

"Both Abu Arabia and Parthia have sent huge forces to Malgeria. Abu Arabia's initial deployment is reported to be over 500,000 men; with the latest reinforcements from Oman, the Parthians have dispatched over 750,000 soldiers for their part," said General Reine. "This means that both sides are very heavily dependent on supplies shipped by sea, as neither has an overland connection to the theater of operations."

"Don't armies of that size require huge amounts of supply?" asked the anchor.

"Yes. For Abu Arabia, we're talking about over 5,000 tons of food, fuel, ammunition, and sundries each day. For Parthia, the figure approaches 7,000 tons."

"So we're talking about a couple of freighters a day per army?"

"At least one freighter every few days," asserted General Reine. "These days, everything is shipped in so-called 'TEU's' - standard containers twenty-feet in length. A typical TEU weighs ten or fifteen tons, so we're talking about 300-400 TEU's for Abu Arabia, and 400-500 for Parthia. The average modern container ship holds around 1,000 TEU's.

"Of course," he continued, "you've got to have a safe, secure undamaged port to offload everything. And - most importantly of all, you have to get there."

"And getting there means securing control of the seas approaching Malgeria," finished the anchor.

"Right," agreed the General. "Everything hinges on that, especially for the Parthians. Whoever controls the seas off Malgeria's northern coast controls access to that coast, and can bring in supplies to support their operation. The other side starves, runs out of fuel and ammo and is forced to surrender."

"Of course, Abu Arabia can count on some supplies from Malgeria itself," the anchor offered.

"Not a lot," said General Reine. "Remember that Malgeria has just emerged from a thirty-year civil war. I'm sure that food and maybe fuel would be avialable, and perhaps even small arms ammunition. But advanced military hardware will quickly become unusable without replacement parts from home, and that puts the side that can't bring in the goods at a terrible disadvantage.

"No," General Reine concluded, "I believe this war will be won or lost at sea."

"Thank you, General."

"You're welcome."

Turning to the camera, the anchor smiled and said, "And now, back to News Central for the latest updates on this growing crisis."

The Persian vessels moved in towards the coast of Malgeria, their radars activated and searching the skies and sea for enemy contacts. Admiral Ardeshir Bakhitar looked out from the bridge of his flagship, the Gullien class superdreadnought, Shah Ardeshir. A communications officer came up to him, “Sir, we are reporting contacts in ports nearby, requesting permission to engage.” The Admiral nodded and said, “Fire at will.” From the Shah Ardeshir, the batteries of missiles sprang to life and unleashed a volley of Harpoon missiles and Tomahawks at the enemy fleet moving into port. Arleigh Burke destroyers and Ticonderoga cruisers joined in, sending off 50 Tomahawks and 250 Harpoon missiles at the enemy fleet. 10 E-6s flew off the carrier, guarded by 50 F-18s and 50 F-14s. The E-6s moved in, preparing for a volley of HARM missiles.

Jihadi Arabian high cleric Imam Muhammed Abdul Mustafa al-Nasiri Abdul Muhammed made a rousing speech today meant to inspire all followers of Islam to leave their families and prepare for Jihad against the nation of Parthia.

http://us.news2.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/p/afp/20040820/capt.sge.cbn41.200804110113.photo00.default-253x384.jpg

"Brothers under Allah, I speak to you today of a great evil. The evil Satan has too long used his pawn Parthia to oppress the Islamic people. His latest and most audacious act has been to boldly tell the people of Malgeria to surrender their lives to Satan's perversions and become a tributary of Parthia.

We cannot allow such unmitigated temerity to go unpunished. As your leader, I declare most Holy Jihad against the people of Parthia. They will fear us, and they will fall to our might. I hearby call on the united citizens of this and all other Muslim nations to join the fight against Parthia's blasphemy. Never again will any Muslim nation fear the yoke of the dark oppressor. We will bow only to Allah. May the blood of the infidels stain their homelands! May the sun bleach their bones white as they go to the Pit. May their suffering be unrelenting, and may their torment be long. Never shall they know safety or security. We will take their nation by force and trickery. They will not see us until we are in the heart of their land. Although we are a small nation, we are devoted and strong. They may think to overwhelm us by force of numbers, but we cannot be vanquished by the accursed infidels while we have Allah on our side."

The roar of his small crowd was deafening, and those watching on television were dumbfounded. They were filled with religious fervor, and every man of fighting age knew beyond doubt that he would fight and die for the cause of Holy Jihad. The war would come, and they would triumph or die.

The Caliph Abu Destroyers and the Osama Bin Laden Cruisers of the Abu Arabian Navy deployment, noticing the large presence of other navy vessels on their radar, began to retaliate in kind to the sudden attack by the Persian fleet, sending off 60 Mujahadeen missiles (Tomahawks) and 200 Sayef (Harpoon) missles at the opposing force.

12 JA-03's, took off from a Mohammed Carrier, flanked by 60 JA-94's for flank protection, not all of them made it off the runway of the ship, outwitted by the strike by the Persians.

The JA-03's were armed and prepared to engage with the enemy fleet with DOIM (Defence Of Islam Missiles) missiles.

Planes were now engaging in open dogfight above the warm glistening seas of Malgeria, and ships hit began to burn.

Calpih Abu destroyers, as well as using their missiles for engagement in combat, began to fire their artillery guns at the enemy fleet, hoping to strike a hit with the huge shells.

The rival navy deployments fought on, a sea and air battle that would decide the destiny of Malgeria.

"This just in," the anchor began, speaking in a smooth, clear voice, "A major naval and air engagement is now unfolding off the coasts of Malgeria between rival squadrons of vessels belonging to the navies of Parthia and Abu Arabia. Reports from ships in the area indicate that hundreds of cruise missiles have been launched, scores of fighters are currently battling it out offshore, and a number of warships on both sides have been set ablaze.

"Again we have Ret. Maj General George Reine in our studios. General Reine was an operational planner at the Allemander Department of Defense until recently. General, is this the fight that will determine the fate of Malgeria?"

General Reine smiled. "That's all up to Abu Arabia. It's their call."

"Why do you say that, General?"

"Once the invasion begins," he explained, "I mean, once the Parthians start pouring troops ashore - and their elite, the Immortals, will lead that effort - they can't afford to lose control of the coasts. If they do, the whole invasion will fold, and they'll lose tens of thousands of troops - including a whole division of their finest.

"Abu Arabia, on the other hand, can lose this sea battle any number of times. If that happens, they just have to regroup and try again. The Parthians can only lose once - and when that happens, that'll be the ball game, so to speak."

Hassan sat with Sheikh Abadllah, watching the broadcast. Picking up the remote, he asked his employer, "Do you mind? I want to switch to the Arabic feed." He flipped to a different station. Abdallah noticed a number of difference, some subtle, some not. The anchor, again a woman, wore the traditional Ayadi semi-sheer veil against a chador composed of various shades of vibrant blue; her guest was a retired Admiral from Roma Islamica, a handsome man with patrician looks.

"We've chosen our analysts carefully. We don't want to look pro-Arab, just pro-Moslem," said Hassan with a smile. "Of course, all are engaging speakers in their own right, with excellent credentials."

"Ratings?" asked Abdallah.

"Up. Way up. And we've had requests for clips from a number of networks. Of course, we embed our logo in the lower right corner of everything." Hassan was almost beaming.

"And the ads?" queried the Sheikh.

"We've begun running travel ads on the local feed. Your Minister of Hospitality tells me that reservations are up 15% in just the last few days. Better still, a lot of those reservations come form overseas. Mostly from Allemande, and mostly Ayadi 'expatriates'. But not entirely..." he trailed off.

Abdallah allowed himself to smile. If this paid off, his biggest critics - the ones who had been most outspoken in declaring the spending on communications infrastructure "wasteful" - would be eating political crow.

"CONTACT!" Screamed the Commander of the Mohammed Carrier uneccesarily.

The rival navy deployments fought on, a sea and air battle that would decide the destiny of Malgeria.

The missiles streaked in towards the Parthian fleet, sparking a computer controlled launch of SA-2 SAMs at the incoming weapons. Decks of several destroyers were covered in smoke as the SAMs flew into the air towards the oncoming weapons. The cruise missiles were easy, flying higher in the air at slower speeds, they were perfect targets. Most of the missiles had been destroyed, but many were still inbound when close defense vulcan cannons kicked in, spraying the horizon with shells to try and stop missiles. The defensive attack was effective, but ten missiles got through and impacted into several ships. One frigate had been sunk almost instantly when three missiles slammed into it, and six other vessels were sinking slowly or crippled in the water. Shells slammed into the water around the vessels, sending a destroyer to the bottom and continuing to pound the fleet.

As the enemies closed into gun range, they were invariably drawing themselves into a trap. The massive railguns of the Shah Ardeshir turned around to face the enemy fleet, and using the corrdinates from Dumpsterdam satellites, calculated the path the ships would take, and then fired off six massive shells at the enemy forces. The Persepolis, Tehran, and Kerman (Iowa class batlleships) next took their turn, firing off their 16 inch guns directly at the enemy vessels. Destroyers joined in with lighter weapons and fired while the crusiers launched off a volley of 100 Harpoon missiles while other crusiers fired off the same amount of SA-2s at enemy planes nearby.

In the air above, 35 F-22s from Oman joined the F-18s and moved towards the Arabian aircraft. Following them, F-14s and E-6s were preparing for a strike of their own. When the fighters had reached AIRAAM range, each one fired off a pair of AAMs directly towards the Arab planes while F-14s prepared to each launch a Harpoon ASM at enemy vessels below.

Let it be known that I, Caliph Abu, and the entire Islamic al-nasr Khilafah of Abu Arabia stands with you as brothers and sisters in arms in this Jihad against the infidel who wishes to enslave all muslims because of their belief of Allah.

Caliph Abu of The Islamic al-nasr Khilafah of Abu Arabia.

Message from Ayatollah Abdul-Bari to the People of Abu Arabia, Ismira, Jihadi Arabia, and Arabislam:

The Kabaheen fleet sailed boldly towards Malgerian territory. This was a momentous deployment for the tiny Kabaheen navy, four carry groups with supporting vessels. In all the fleet offered a few dozen ships and approximately 300 planes. Yet this was not all King Mahir had in store for the defense of an Islamic ally. With the ships sailed troop transports, 20,000 men, a petty handful by comparison, but brave men, and well trained. They were the Kabaheen elite, the Hashishim, part marine, part special ops, loyal through and through. They were to take up position on the island nearest Malger, with the consent of the Malgerian government. This was where the Kabaheen troops would hold, prepared to defend a friend of the people.

The holy Sultanate of al-Sabar cannot stand by and watch a country be made a petty annex of another. To this end, the esteemed Sultan Teresvas has chosen to contribute 100,000 troops to the Malgerian cause. Should the Malgerians accept this offer, troop transports will sail immediately for the Republic.

Below the waters of Malgeria, a wolfpack of 15 Majnoun (Seawolf) class submarines silently moved through the waters. They were running silent at about five knots when they began to pick up signals from passive sonar. "We have contacts, closing in, assumed hostile." The submarines moved forawrd slowly, and then, a sonar operater contacted the captian. "Sir, they appear to be more Arabs, we need no fire as soon as possible." The captian nodded, and then, movedup on the Al-Kahban vessels. A clink could be heard as the torpedoes were loaded into the tubes and the firing doors opened. When they had come within range, the wolfpack unleashed a volley of 30 Mk-48 ADCAP torpedoes at the enemy vessels. With this, they prepared to load up for another volley.

The airplane lands in the suburban airport as Fabio walks towards the landing zone. The airport is generally small but still has security. The plane lands as the civilians leave the plane and the cargo workers start unloading the cargo.

"What the!? Whats this stuff?" one of them in an orange suit says. A closer look shows a few white circular containers with no label. "This isnt on the cargo list."

Fabio takes his chance. "Its mine, boys, Ill take it from here."

One of the workers steps infront of Fabio as he tries to get to the hold. "Sorry, buddy, but its not on the list. We're gonna have to verify it first. We'll call you tomorrow when everything has been checked."

"That wont be necessary." And Fabio lifts a single index finger. From the nearby forest emerge four men armed with SOKOL-31 rifles. Fabio takes out a pistol hiding under his suit.

The three airport workers try and run, and the two guards dressed in navy blue uniforms take out their pistols. Fabio shoots the first guard, the rifles take down two of the airport workers. Fabio fires at the second guard, but misses as the guard dived down.

The rifles took down the last cargo hold worker. Fabio reloaded and walked towards the airport car the guard was hiding under. The guard got up and started firing, Fabio was too late to pick up his gun and took three to the chest. The rifles took advantage of the guard's exposure and shot him down.

OOC: Follow the story line. Malgeria is an island, and so the various combatants (except for the Malgerians themselves) need to get there by sea. Until the Parthians land, there's no ground fighting. Once the Parthians manage to establish sea control (if they do), then they'll storm ashore and the fur will fly.

If you don't have a navy and you're sending troops, you can send a few hundred volunteers by air aboard a chartered airliner or two (no more). In a fight this size, that won't mean much, but maybe you can find a special mission for them. Be creative.

Also, read the stickies. Biggest rule: you can never tell people what happens to their stuff (e.g., "My guys storm your position and kill 10,000 of your people"); you have to let them decide what they lose. Thus, you should strive to creatively maneuver them into a position where they have to accept a hit.

TG (= telegraph) me for some ideas. I'm not a combatant - my RP effort here is the ANN subthread (ANN = this war's Al Jazeera), but I can think of some cool things you could do with a few hundred Basque commandos...

From his Highness ,Emperor Constantine Caeser Augustus IV, Divine Ruler of The Incorporated States of Cheese Islands.
It has come to the attention of my nation that the nation of the Parthian peoples is under threat of invasion from the "Sarcean" forces. This offense against the stability of the areas surrounding the conflict and the stability of the international cheese trade will not be tolerated. The "Sarcean" countries attacking Parthia and the non "sarcean" countries aiding them in this war are to lay down their arms or face a trade embargo and millitary action on behalf of the Parthian nation. If a settlement in this conflict is reached, normal relations between all nations involved will resume.I wish the Shah the best of luck in dealing with this unacceptable attack on his nation.

IC

The Parthian tomahawk and harpoon missiles that were fired at the Abu Arabian fleet were targetted by the Feyadeen Cannons in a immeadiate defence action.

Whilst most were taken out with ease, some made it through striking several Abu Arabian vessels, rendering some of them disabled, and commanders of the ships very badly hit began to retreat from the battle, but found their frigates were beginning to sink, their forms forlorn.

Inevitably, some Parthian ships attempted to finish these ships off, by moving in closer but they themselves became ensnared in a trap, sprung by the other Abu Arabian ships who fired shells and Mujahadeen missiles at the Parthians caught.

As Parthian Shells came inbound, so Abu Arabian shells, guided by Abu Arabian satelitte coordinates, flew outbound.

The Abu Arabian cruisers began to fire anti aircraft defence missiles at the encroaching F-14's, but were hesistant when they realised Abu Arabian JA-03's and JA-94's were hot on their tails, who fired their missiles at the enemy aircraft.

Instead, the Abu Arabian cruisers fired 110 Mujhadeen missiles at the enemy navy fleet.

Abu Arabian Destroyers fired their own arnaments also.

A number of JA-03's that had peeled off from the ongoing dogfights fired Sayeff missiles at enemy vessels in their target range.

As the fierce naval battle raged above the sea, below it, Yassin Class Submarines locked on to target Parthian Cruisers, firing their torpedos at the enemy targets.

Aboard the KAS Kan-Zanzar, Captain Munir muttered a prayer to Allah. The SSTD picked up the torpedoes as they rocked towards the Kabaheen fleet, still a few miles off the Malgerian shore. His head snapped towards helm, bellowing his order, "Helmsmen, evasive manuveurs, hard to port." He paced a few feet up the deck, grasping the back of one of the nearby chairs. "I want sound decoys dropped throughout the water! Now!"

The ship visibly reeled beneath the crew as the ship lurched left, just barely dodging a torpedo. Three more lost their signals on the ships, chasing after the decoys as though they were part of the Kabaheen fleet. All of this happened in a breath, a single breath in. And as the breath out reached his lips to become a near sigh of relief, the thunderous explosion rocked the Kan-Zanzar, throwing Munir to the ground. Red lights flashed throughout the bridge, alarm klaxxons blaring. From the floor, Munir called upwards, "Damage report!"

In the far corner, an officer righted himself and glanced over his console. "We were hit on the starboard bow, we have a hull breach. Sealing the compartment off now, sir. It looks like the Abdulla and the Tehran were hit as well, sir. The Abdulla is sinking, fast."

The captain pushed himself to his feet, turning to the comm officer. "We have more important things to worry about. I want the fast attack subs to the front of the fleet, track down whatever attacked us. Find their attack vector and get the fleet over them, start dropping depth charges!"

Secret IC to Malgeria:

Message from Caliph Abu of The Islamic al-nasr Khilafah of Abu Arabia to Ayatollah Abdul-Bari of Malgeria:

Brother in and of Islam, you are very welcome. Together, we fight the grasping claw of the corrupt infidel who wishes to enslave you and your people and your lands for his own ends and means.

As it is Allah who wills us and is our strength through our belief in Allah, victory shall be ours, and the infidel and his minions shall be broken.

It is true my warriors have far modern equipment to yourself, but modern equipment is nothing without faith in Allah, which both us and our peoples have as believers of Allah, The prophet Mohammed, Peace Be Upon Him, and of the Qu'ran. For this, we shall be victorious my brother.

Your peoples and your nation's struggle reminds me very much of the intifada and subseqent Jihad I and my people waged against the westernised tyrant who ruled Abu Arabia, we suceeded, as all causes fought by believers of Allah are bound to, and we have grown strong since, and the Khilafah was formed.

Whilst it is true that those who fight in the name of, and by the will of Allah shall be martyred on these memorable days, it is important to remember that rather than martyr for your own Islamic State, we should make the poor infidel martyr for his country.

I add that if you have Naval forces at hand, deploy them against The Parthians, and slaughter them in the name of Allah.

As the battle raged on the clear blue seas off the west coast of Malgeria, the Mujahideen was readying itself for the fight that would inevitably come. On the edges of the Malgerian desert, horsebacked raiders kicked up dust as they thundered over the dunes, rifles slung over their backs. Though not united directly under the government of the Holy Islamic Republic, the nomads had heeded the call of Jihad, and would fight and die, if not for the Malgerian nation, for Allah and Islam.

In the capital of Malger, the Mujahideen was digging in. Men draped in shemaghs took to the streets, setting up machine gun nests at chokepoints, and arming their stinger missile launchers. RPGs and AK-47s were the order of the day, coupled with traditional curved scimitars for executions and fierce close quarters battle. There was not a trace of fear in the eyes of these men, for they knew if death awaited them at the hands of the enemy, so would eternal glory as a martyr for Allah.

Though Malgeria had yet to form a navy of its own, several confiscated vessels waited in the harbors of several coastal cities. Yachts had been equipped with guns and anti-ship missile launchers. Crewmen lined the decks with Stingers. Several smaller quick vessels had been packed full of explosives, a suicide mission for Allah.

The 'navy' set forth from the ports towards the battle zone, crews steadfast against the overwhelming threat of death.

"Prepare yourselves men!" yelled Captian Alexius Constans "The Sarcean navy approaches." As he was yelling the crews on the XXII ships quickly prepared thier cannons and "Parmesian" torpedos. Readying themselves for the hard fought naval conflict that was about to occur.

OOC: since you just posted your entry into this war and deployment, your fleets cannot just magically appear in place and ready to engage my forces and the forces of my allies. It takes time for a fleet to move into position, at least a few days. Wait a few hours or at least for this naval battle to finish before posting your arrival. It's bad RP to do otherwise. Parthian vessels began to engage the enemy missiles inbound, and when the massive air defense umbrella of the Shah Ardeshir came online, missiles flew from the tubes in a cloud of smoke as SA-2s flew from the tubes in addition to smaller SAMs in a cloud of explosives. Close defense guns opened up when missiles became too close, most of them being downed, but three ships were hit and one was disabled with another slowly sinking. Shells rained in, hitting the massive Shah Ardeshir, but doing little more than scratching the paint. Another vessel was sinking when the torpedoes came in. Countermeasures were launched and evasive action taken, but many impacted into the ships. Active sonars went online, and quickly, the Persian forces discovered the enemy submarines and fired a barrage of 45 Mk-48 ADCAPs. The vessels still capable of firing did so, and in a spectacular show, the massive 30 Inch electrothermal guns of the Shah Ardeshir opened fire, firing 18 shells capable of tearing armor apart. Following that, the 16 inch guns of three battleships fired off nine shells each, sending a sheet of flame over the waters. 8 inch guns from destroyers added to the cacophany as tubes fired hundreds of unguided rockets.

In the air, Persian planes made evasive manuevers to avoid the missiles, but it was no use to 12 F-18s and 5 F-22s, destroyed in a hearbeat as their planes were hit and destroyed. The remaining Persian aircraft moved in and fired off 150 AIRAAM missiles before moving in and firing the same number of sidewinders, then engaging close range with cannon.

A number of well-known Ayadi journalists sat around the table, engaging in a polite but free-wheeling discussion.

"The withdrawal of Basque Spain from the Malgerian and General Rico's coup means that only Moslem countries are willing to defend Malgeria from agression!" snapped Ali Ibn Sadr, an Ayoddhan radio personality.

"Other countries are offering arms and medicine..." offered Ahmed al-Kuf, an Ayaddhan newspaper columnist.

"Yes, material aid, sure," said Ibn Sadr sharply, "But not troops. Parthia is clearly the aggressor here, but somehow when it's Moslem independence and Moslem lives at stake, nobody is willing to draw a line in the sand."

"You know why that is?" interupted Khalid Husseini, the editor of a news magazine in Qu'umah "It's because the world is afraid of Moslems, and they're willing to let the national rights and aspirations of Moslems get trampled on."

"So what do we do about it?" asked Noor Hashemi, the anchor. Her soft, cool voice cut through the sharp commentary of the men. In the studio, Hassan smiled; the effect was perfect. He had no regrets about his choice of anchors. Every one of them had proven to be golden.

Ibn Sadr responded first. "Moslems need to band together in self defense. We have no choice. What's happening in Malgeria is happening elsewhere - in Qassam, for instance. If we don't stand together, we will be enslaved everywhere."

"You don't see any hope of help from some of the more liberal, more enlightened countries?" queried the anchor.

"No," replied Husseini, "Not until we can overcome this prejudice that says that Moslems are a threat to the world - or until the rest of the world finds it needs us against the wolves out there, like the neo-Nazis, the would-be God-kings, the neo-Imperialists, and the other folks of that sort. "The Cheese Islands?" asked Fatima.

Justin tapped on his Treo, "Here we are ... population 7,000,000?!? Wow, that's chutzpa. Let's see ... according to the UN data feed (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/nationdata.cgi/nation=cheese%20islands), these guys aren't spending anything on their military. Wonder what kind of weaponry they've got?"

Jake, his cameraman, looked up from his film case, "Oh, that's easy. I read that some small countries are outfitting their armies off e-Bay (http://www.ebay.com/) these days. There was even this guy calling himself ... what was it ... oh, yeah - 'Constantine Caesar Augustus IV' - who bought 22 destroyers for a few thousand dollars apiece a couple years ago."

"You're kidding, right?!?" Fatima asked, eyes wide.

"Nope, Scout's honor!" Jake said, crossing his heart. "They were WWII surplus, sitting in some harbor waiting for scrap when the mini-mill there went bankrupt. I think they had to be towed away." He paused. "Come to think of it ..." Jake scratched his head and looked up at the moon.

"I can't imagine what kind of small arms they have..." thought Justin aloud.

Jake looked back, as if shaken out of a reverie. "Well, I think that same guy got a good deal on 250,000 WWI era bolt-action rifles."

And all around them, the Malgerian irregulars continued to build barracades and prepare for the storm to come.

IC:

The five Abu Arabian submarines that had engaged the Parthian vessels with torpedos now found themselves under attack from Parthian Mk-48 ADCAPs, and took evasive action, but nonetheless two were hit mortally, their crews condemned to slow and agonising deaths as their vessels lost all power and began to be embraced by the dark depths of a watery grave.
The other three, although hit, still found enough power to retreat.

Above the waves, the naval battle raged. Parthian shells and rockets were hurled from Parthian vessels, and Abu Arabian vessels responded in kind, firing off 25 Mujahadeen missiles at the enemy fleet.

As The Parthian 30, 16 and 8 inch guns opened up, so Abu Arabian vessels sent up a defence of missiles to intercept, but they could not stop five being hit, one bad enough to be disabled, and two slowly beginning to be claimed by the sea.

Abu Arabian Destroyers opened up their own 8 inch guns onto Parthian vessels, tubes firing hundreds of unguided rockets outbound to the ones coming inbound.

In the air, 10 JA-94's and 5 JA-03's were eliminated from the battle by the Persian planes, some exploding into balls of hot fire, whilst others, knowing they were mortally hit and unable to continue, hurled themselves at Parthian ships as a last act of aggression on behalf of their doomed selves.

The remaing Abu Arabian aircraft now joined in, making a semi circle slash in the sky before firing 150 of their own version of AIRAAM missiles, moving in at close range to tag onto Parthian aircraft, firing sidewinder missiles, engaging at close quarters with rapid fire cannons.

The fast attack subs appeared torpedoes themselves as they rocketed towards the Parthians. 22 in all, nimble and near silent, following the trajectory of the previously fired torpedoes back to their masters, til they were almost right on top of the enemy. With first contact, a barrage of torpedoes was let loose, twenty Jihad class torpedoes rocketing towards the hulls of the Pathian subs. A moment later the depth charges began falling from above.

From the KAS Kan-Zanzar, Munir ordered up the Kabaheen planes, only the finest after the recent diverting of funds to the Kabaheen airforce (ooc: check my nation spotlight). They soared into the sky, almost a hundred of them from four carries, many more still in their landing bays. Without delay they rocketed towards the Parthian air battle not far away, prepared to rush the battle scene firing at everything that moved.

The ships sailed towards the south-eastern island without a sound. As the Parthians, Arabians, and Kabaheen fought in the skies and below the sea, the fleet of the sultan landed on the island and began spreading out, deploying the entire force of 100,000 men. Immediately batteries were set up, massive guns unloaded carefully off the ship piece by piece and constructed on the spot. Once pieced together, fawn and foliage was used to cover and disguise the weapons surprisingly well.

Others from the unit began making their way throughout the island to make contact with its residents, hope of preparing the populace still in the hearts of all the sultan's men.

In an amazing display of man power, the entire island was fortified in but a few hours. (ooc: nothing fancy, just the guns I had mentioned before mostly, as well as a few decent barricades in the cities.)

The 16 inch guns of three Abu Arabian battleships too returned fire, lobbing nine of their own shells at the Parthian vessels.

As enemy missiles and suicidal aircraft moved in, hundreds of short range Sea Sparrow missiles flew from the batteries of many ships. The Shah Ardeshir was covered in smoke from the volume of missiles being fired. 20mm Phalanx cannons opened up, spraying missiles and aircraft with thousands of explosive rounds. The aircraft in suicidal dives were torn to shreds and exploded on the sea, being slow moving targets they were easy pickings. Missiles and shells were more difficult, with shells nearly impossible to intercept since they had no radar signature. The Mujahadeen missiles were mostly shot down, but they crashed into another frigate and slowly, the ship sank. 16 inch shells tore into a Jamshid (Arleigh Burke class) destroyer and ripped it into shreds, killing most of the crew as the ship split in two and sank. 8 inch shells littered the water, and two hit the Tehran, which caused little damage because of massive armor. A Pars (Ticonderoga) class crusier and two more Jamshid class frigates were hit by rockets and began to sink.

The Persian fleet again responded to the barrage as satellites tracked the signals of the Arabian battleships and pinpointed them rather effectivley. Again, the Shah Ardeshir's 30inch Electrothermal guns capable of shredding thick armor were positioned, and in one fell swoop, the massive guns tore into a sheet of flame and propelled the shells off. Another volley was prepared as the Tehran, Persepolis, and Kerman fired smaller 16 inch guns at lighter cruisers and destroyers. A sudden volley of smoking unguided rockets by the hundreds sprang from batteries in the Shah Ardeshir and flew in at the enemy vessels. Crusiers fired a total volley of 75 Harpoon missiles while destroyers chimed in with their 8 inch guns and unguided rockets. Meanwhile, the comms room of the Shah Ardeshir came alive with a message, "Reinforcements from Oman inbound, prepare for assistance." He knew what that meant, the massive Shahanshah Khosru, sister ship to the Shah Ardeshir was on its way with the assistance of several Cyrus class carriers and the battleships Esfahan, Ctesiphon, and Tabriz. Hundreds of planes from Oman were arriving, nearly 75 F-22s were joined by 25 JSFs and 150 F-18s from carriers. The Shahanshah Khosru quickly made its overpowering presence felt as a volley of 25 Harpoon missiles rocketed from the tubes. Admiral Fardmanesh on the Shahanshah Khosru smiled as he approached the enemy fleet with 30 inch guns pointed in their direction.... he had numbers and would use them to crush Arabs.

In the air, evasive action largley failed as 19 F-18s and 2 advanced F-22s exploded with their precious pilots. Two managed to eject before the missiles hit, but now were at the mercy of the waves as Persian patrol craft moved in fast to recover them. The sheer weight of numbers turned in their favor, however, as the friendly aircraft rapidly approaching moved in and fired a volley of AIRAAMs while JSFs fired off a volley of 15 more Harpoons at the enemy fleet. As other enemies closed in, the Persians prepared for the worst, with the new arrivals engaging the Al-Kabah planes with nearly 250 sidewinders while the advanced F-22s moved in to fire with 20mm cannons. The enemies from Abu Arabia were engaged with a volley of SA-2s from the Persian fleet while other planes continued close in dogfights.

They pressed onward, through the barrage of fire from the enemy aircraft without the slightest thought for their own lives. When in range, they let loose a volley of their own, engaging the Parthians jets almost eagerly. On an open comm channel the head plane offered the only thought on the minds of dozens of pilots.

"It is time to die in the name of Allah."

The Kabaheen K-20s charged the Parthian F-22s, sending a wall of lead out from their 20mm guns. Not far behind, the Z-42s sent sidewinder after sidewinder towards the Persian menace, at least 250 to match the barrage sent towards them.

12 Parthian F-22s were downed as lead ripped through them and shredded them to pieces. 5 more were so heavily damaged the pilots were forced to bail out onto the sea below. Then, as missiles neared and chaff deployed with evasive maneuvers, the further loss of 20 F-18s and 8 F-22s was breaking upon the Persian pilots. Captian Bijan Taheri, experienced pilot serving in wars from Egypt to Azerbaijan then opened up a communication with his own planes, "In the name of Ahura Mazda, crush the Arabs" The Persians started to chant, "Fravarâne mazdayasnô zarathushtrish vîdaêvô ahura-tkaêshô, hâvanêe ashaone ashahe rathwe ýasnâica vahmâica xshnaothrâica frasastayaêca, sâvanghêe vîsyâica ashaone ashahe rathwe ýasnâica vahmâica xshnaothrâica frasastayaêca!" (I profess myself a Mazda-worshipper and a Zoroastrian, opposing the Daevas, accepting the Ahuric doctrine) With that, the Persian aircraft moved in and fired off 150 sidewinders and moved in to engage with cannon at near point blank range.

The would be kamikaze was spotted moving in at a relativley slow speed for what the Phalanx cannons were designed for, and within seconds, the plane was torn to shreds as four cannons sprayed the airplane with explosive ammunition. Some shrapnel hit the deck, but little else was accomplished.

"Welcome back. The battle off the coast of Malgeria continues to rage, with scores of aircraft and several warships lost on both sides. To comment on this action, we have Ret. Maj. Gen. George Reine, who - until recently - was an operational planner at the Allemander Department of Defense.

She turned towards the General. "Thank you for coming."

"It's a pleasure," he replied.

"General, the battle has been raging for some time now, and the action is said - by observers on nearby merchant vessels - to be quite fierce. No one seems to have gained the upper hand. How long can they keep this up?"

"That's a good question," replied General Reine with a nod. "Both the Parthians and the pro-Malgerian alliance have committed substantial forces. Any further committment might leave either exposed to attack at home by a third party. So for both sides, it's all come down to this: a single toss of the dice."

"Is it over for Malgeria if the Parthians win?"

"No, there's still the land campaign, and that will be as fierce as this sea battle has been," said the General. "I'd also like to add a comment on the terrorist attack that struck Parthia today (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=400379), just as this battle was unfolding. If Arabislam expected that attack to weaken Parthian resolve, they're gravely mistaken. Whereas this war was all about the Shah's ego up until this point, now that there are dead civilians in Parthia, I fear that their anger will be impossible to contain."

"Of course, we should note that this action was the action of Arabislam, not Malgeria," interjected the anchor.

"To the Parthians, there's no difference." observered General Reine. "Indeed, that may well explain this entire war."

"Arsenal ships! S**t!, shut down and prepare to fire while they are still far enough away to use it." Electronics not sheilded from electromagnetic interference were shut down by system computers and then, a single missile rocketed off towards the enemy missiles and broke into parts within the air, sending out an electro-magnetic pulse stretching out for 1/2 of a kilometer from the blast (note that im assuming the ships were far enough away that the missiles were out a safe distance, tell me if otherwise, but I think that might have been difficult to close into that range) which fried missile hardware and sent the projectiles crashing down into the sea. The remaining 150 missiles moved in onto the Persian fleet as systems came back online and fired away SA-2s, downing most, but allowing 5 Frigates and 7 destroyers to explode in flame when the missiles penetrated through close defensive weapons.

"The H_ll I can't!" roared the Senator. "Judge a man by the company he keeps, I always say. If Malgeria accepts the help of these rats, then they're no better than their friends!"

"Nations in need often accept help from anywhere," retorted the President.

His dusgust was evident. "Greatest danger in history, Bob? You really want to go there? We've got a world full of nuts, dangerous as the blazes, and you think Mulsims are the greatest threat ever?!?"

"Yes," exclaimed the Senator, "And if it were me, I'd start by telling the ones we have here to pack their bags. I don't care if there are d_mn near a million of them."

"Over ... my ... dead ... body," spat the President. This was the wedge issue, the one that he knew was coming. Nativism ... the thought of it filled him with revulsion.

"They're taking good jobs from good God-fearing Allemanders!" Senator Donne shot back.

"Don't try to drag God into this, you g_dd_mn_d racist!" sneered the President. "He doesn't share your prejudice."

Before Donne could protest, the President cut him off. "And don't talk about these people 'stealing our jobs'. Do that, and you'll prove you're the idiot I think you are."

Senator Donne was beet red, gasping for words in outrage. The President smiled wickedly, and delivered the coup de grace:

The Mujahideen commander who had read the note stared perplexed at the components. He called for his men, and the crates were slowly dragged into the old military base that had been occupied by the militias after the revolution. The commander put in a call to one of the Ayatollah's secretaries, and reported what had just happened.

Ayatollah Abdul-Bari, after hearing the description of the boxes' contents, realized instantly what he had been given. Earlier in his revolutionary career, he had had some basic experience with nuclear science, skimming over diagrams and reading up on the theory and construction of nuclear weaponry. Understanding his good fortune, the Ayatollah ordered the crates be transported quickly to the edge of the desert, where members of the Fedayeen Malgeria would take over, and hide the components until they could be properly assembled. The Ayatollah said a prayer to Allah for his good fortune and went back to the business of defending his land.

Meanwhile, the arsenal ships had reloaded, and were preparing to fire once again. With a roar and hiss, the white streaks rocketed into the sky once more.

Off the horizon, crewmen could see the speedboats move closer and closer, packed with fanatics and explosives. Crews scrambled to grab Javelin missiles and prepare them, setting up several and firing them directly at the ships, hitting many with the rocket and tearing them apart in a flash of light as the explosives went off. Next, the Phalanx cannons opened up with 20mm explosive shells, tearing up the ships as they approached. On one destroyer, the guns kicked up, and then, stopped as the gun jammed. As frantic crewmen worked trying to get it unjammed several boats made for her. Desprate crewmen fired M-27s and other small arms, but it was too late. Within a few seconds, the boats slammed into the destroyer and it began to tip over on one side, taking most of the crew to a watery grave.

The Mujahideen crews aboard the yachts cheered wildly and fired weapons into the air as they saw the fiery explosion and the destruction of the Parthian destroyer. The yachts had closed, and now they readied their surface to surface missiles. With a bright flash, the missiles streaked out over the water towards their Parthian targets.

The yachts rocked wildly, not having been designed for this, and four capsized completely. The crews dashed about in the sea, until two other vessels circled about to pick them up. The yachts then began closing to gun range.

The unweildy platforms SSMs made little impression on the Parthians, who fired a volley of SM-2s and Sea Sparrows which destroyed all but two of the missiles. One crashed into a Jamshid Frigate, heavily damaging it and another missile hit a Pars crusier, knocking out the front missile control. The ungainly vessels were then hit with a flurry of 5 inch rapid firng guns of the Pars class crusier and 8 inch shells from the Tehran's secondary turrets.

The Parthian shells slammed into the sides of the yachts, blowing many literally out of the water. Aboard the surviving vessels, the crews trained rocket propelled grenade launchers and other dumbfire anti tank weapons on the Parthian ships, and fired, before they too were ripped apart by the enemy shells.

Justin DeVry had been following the small convoy of trucks in from the coast all morning, instructing his driver to hang back as far as he could to avoid being seen. The night before he’d received a tip that another clandestine arms shipment was arriving from Tocrowkia – only this one, his contact has said, was very special.

He saw the trucks stop at the military base, saw the men quickly unpack the large crates, and then saw them drive off hurriedly, without making any contact at all with the MLF guards. Strange, he thought, you’d think they’d at least meet face to face and acknowledge the transfer. I wonder what’s inside those crates…

“Jake,” he whispered to his cameraman, “Give me your best zoom.”

Jake complied, and Justin squirmed forward through the rocks as far as he could without being seen. He saw the camp commander walk up to the crates with a few of his men, remove a sheet of paper from one of the crates, read it, scratch his head, and then order his men to take the crates into the compound. Whatever was in those crates was heavy, but more importantly, it was obviously unexpected.

Justin crawled back to Jake, and the two of them returned to the Land Rover, concealed in a gully. He considered his options. He couldn’t get inside the base; that was obvious. The MLF were unapproachable by Westerners, so he’d never get an informant inside. Much as he hated it, he’d have to let it go.

He was just about to order the driver to return to Malger when he heard a commotion from the bases. Trucks, several of them, and men shouting. “Wait here,” he said to the driver. A minute later, he was up among the rocks looking down at the base.

The mujahideen were moving those same crates up onto their own trucks, and doing it as fast as they could. He came back down to the Land Rover and had the driver pull it forward a bit. From there, they could see the trucks pull out, come back up the road past their hiding place, and then turn down a track into the desert.

They followed, again as carefully as they could, at the greatest distance possible. As the truck convoy moved towards the desert, they fell back further, tracking the column by the dust plume that rose up from under their wheels. At last, the trucks reached the edge of the desert and stopped.

It was nightfall. The trucks were parked near a small building, illuminated by a single industrial light. The men were unloading the cases and pulling them under a set of camouflaged tarps. There were more trucks here, and Justin recognized the uniform of the sentries: these were the Fedayeen Malgeria, elite guerrilla fighters. The mujahideen finished unloading the crates, got back in their trucks, and returned up the road.

Hurriedly, Justin ran back to the Land Rover, telling the driver to pull off the track into a hollow, running with the lights out. The driver swore as they very nearly rolled the vehicle, and then they all sat in the darkness, barely breathing as the convoy rolled past.

Finally, the danger was gone. Pulling out some food they’d brought along, they ate a cold meal while Justin thought about his next move. Follow the crates, and try to find out what was in them, or return to Malger.

He decided to risk it all and follow the crates.

Most of the men who had been sent to Communist Louisiana for the expected invasion of Communist Mississipi had returned to the port city of Macabea City, no longer the capital of the Empire since the founding of Fedala. However, their war in Kahta was unfulfilling as no stirring victory, no crushing feat of arms, was accomplished thus the military muscle of the Second Empire had barely been flexed when they returned to port. Malgeria's open jihad against the Parthians was...expected... to say the least, the rash decisions of Malgaria's past leaned toward the fact that Malgaria's government was at best... unstable. So, it was also unsuprising when the Parthians launched their invasion of Malgaria, as Malgaria proved to be the perfect target for an army, and a perfect territory to sieze - especially when the Parthians were in the right, perhaps for the first time in their history. As a consequence the administration, meaning Emperor Jonach I, decided that it would perhaps pall the glands of his generals to sieze the opportunity and send a small task force and a small amount of men over to Melgaria to prove Macabee mettle. Jonach I was not a man to send an army without reason, or to dent foreign politics just for a mere lust for war, so, characteristically, he decided to declare his intentions world wide and parade the fact that a fleet was heading right to Melgeria, wether it would be strategically insane or not:

"We have come from a war with Kahta victorious, however, we are not satisfied. Justice must be served, and it is our duty to protect it. Therefore, the Empire's men will serve their God and their Emperor once again, and this time in a true crusade, dozens of times more noble than that against Kahta - that is, the crusade against the Moslems who litter this world. It is not the character of a man like me to hate religion or race, however, the Moslems have been the only ones who have not been able to control themselves, sieze the initiative to make peace - instead, they continously wage their insipid jihad. So, any sane and learned man only has one conclusion to deduct to, and that is simple - that the Moslem extremist must be wiped out! Therefore, along with Pope Transguff I of the Holy Curch of St. Peter, I call on my childred to heed my call for a the Second Crusade, and strike against the heaten armies of Melgaria!"

Heeded or not the call would be followed, for if there would be no volunteers the men would have to be forced to go to war for propaganda reasons...

[The Harbor of the City]
White banners with black imperial eagle waved high in the blue skies of the mid day morning, sun shining down on the blessed ships of the newly organized Task Force Sickel, casting beams across the armored bands running across the hulls of the larger ships, including the three huge battleships which made up the crux of the task force. Outside the harbor parts of Sickel had already been forming, preparing the ASW (Anti Submarine Warfare) perimeter, while the escort carriers were already running reconaissance aircraft for AWACs procedures. Sickel, compared to the fleet conjured for the war against Kahta, was quite compact, composed of the three Rommel class Battleships (http://www.createforum.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=7&mforum=macabeestorefro), two Model class Aircraft Carriers (http://www.createforum.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=9&mforum=macabeestorefro), three Raus class Escort Carriers, twenty Manstein class Destroyers (http://www.createforum.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=10&mforum=macabeestorefro), eight Seydlitz class Cruisers (http://www.createforum.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=8&mforum=macabeestorefro), eight Clauswitz class Frigates, two tankers, two minesweepers, and about another fifty assorted ships for logistical and fighting purposes. It was small in terms of the task force size, however, it proved quite the formidable force, and military analyst pushing papers back in the capital of Fedala were sure that such a task force would aid the Parthians to bring the Moslem nation to its knees and pray for mercy.

The most important cargo inside the hulls and holds of the Great White Fleet were the infantry of the 1st Infanterie Divisionen, twenty thousand combat ready front line soldiers wearing their infamous Aloysius Infantry Combat Systems (http://www.createforum.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=5&mforum=macabeestorefro), with the standard Macabee ordnance, including ample supplies of MANPADs and machineguns, as well as small mortars. Equally as important were the 1st and 2nd Airborne Divisions, a total of twenty thousand men, were ready in the bowels of the ships, however ironically they weren't going to fly in, but instead land with the 1st Infanterie Divisionen. To give them the necessary armored fist the 1st Panzer Divisionen was headed with them, as well as the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd mobile SAM brigades, the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th mobile Panzerwerfer brigades and the 1st and 2nd KriGud brigades. All of which together proved an army worthy of any enemy, built on the doctrine of combined arms and a strategy compiled through the one hundred years Civil War and the war with Kahta.

Task Force Sickel would continue towards Malgeria's coastline with the charateristic triple line ASW (Anti Submarine Warfare) perimeters and the single AWACs (Airborne Warning and Control system) and the CAP (combat air patrol) around the carriers. Using the aircraft in the air, including the new MMA-A3 Falcon (http://www.createforum.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=20&mforum=macabeestorefro) air superiority aircraft, and the different types of aerial imaging systems such as RADAR, SODAR, LIDAR, LADAR and CELLDAR, as well as the advance SONAR and LIDAR systems used under the surface of the ocean, the Macabee task force, Task Force Sickel, was a floating fortress - no more unsinkable than Malta during the Second World War. Should Malgaria and her allies be successful in turning back, or destroying, Task Force Sickel it would be quite the feat. However, a Macabee naval task force has never been defeated [OOC:Although funny enough, since the re-start of my NS experience, I've been in one war only, the one with Kahta]. Task Force Sickel would anchor one hundred kilometers [OOC:That is, the first ASW perimeter will anchor one hundred kilometers, putting the battleships and carriers at two hundred kilometers] from the Malgerian' coast. The coastline directly facing this fleet would be that forming the eastern section of the island of Melgaria's larger island, where the city of Kair was situated. Indeed, Kair was the Macabee's first and priority target and objective - from there Macabee aerial assets could harass Moslem forces on the main Malgerian island.

The man put in command of the task force was Grand Admiral Durgstaden von Laifsraggen, the man who had commanded the fleets off Kahta and who had so successfully destroyed Kahta's bombing potential, and who had hoped to make a name for himself. It turned out Kahta had not been the war which was to supply him with the fame, so he gently asked Emperor Jonach I a position inside this new task force. The Emperor, exuberant about Durgstaden's victories off Kahta, willingly agreed, and also appointed General-feldmarchall Ludwing von Heiberschnall command of the ground forces due to the cancelation of operations into Communist Mississipi. Both men, geniuses of the new age, sat side by side inside the quarters of Durgstaden's flagship, the HES Schild, the first of three battleships in the powerful array, sipping their coffee, and the admiral turned to his kamraden and said,"It seems like we roll again herr general-feldmarchall. All expect a quick victory... I think otherwise. Do not underestimate the potential of a human soul desperate for freedom."

The Field Marshall chuckeled and put down his coffee to reply,"Yes, that's what you said about Kahta, and Kahta's army on the beaches were crushed. It was only the Emperor's fickel attitudes that stopped us from rushing into Kahta and destroy it completely."

The admiral, not wanting to stir up a fight, sat quietly, hoping that time woud pass by faster. He only knew that this war was not going to be the parade some thought it was, and that von Heiberschnall was going to have the time of his life fighting for it too. Admiral von Laifsraggen was no stranger to guerilla warfare - he had been a partisan during his early career in the civil war before becoming a SONAR man in a submarine for the Macabee faction and then rising through the ranks. He knew the powers of a guerilla force. But, he may have underestimated the power of his own country... that question would only be answered post-bellum.

[OOC: People who are aiding Malgeria and wanted to develope relations with me don't fret for I won't hold this against you. I came into the war knowing full well that there were people I respected here fighting against Parthia, so any of those who are giving moralistic and logistical support to Malgeria I'll 'overlook' it ICly.

Also, Malgaria, I'm using that map you supplied of your country. Also, exactly where is the Parthians attacking?]

Secret Communique to the Malgerian Government

Our most honored friends,

It bears heavy on our hearts to suggest this, but we fear the attack mounted against your country is too great. It may indeed be in our best interests to begin the negotiation of terms with the enemy. Even with the many allies of Malgeria, we now hold more power upon the negotiation table than on the field of battle. We are fighting a losing war.

The Malgerian Sea

The Kabaheen squardons had been ripped to shreads, only 60 of the original hundred planes still in working order. Seemingly without an order, they veered off at once, breaking contact with the enemy. Firing chaff from every plane, their engines kicked in at full throttle, sending them rocketing back towards the Kabaheen fleet in the far Malgerian channel. A few more planes dropped from the sky as they were hit by lead, again unnoticed by the pilots nearby.
Abu Arabia

Parthian 8 inch, 16 inch and 30 inch gun shells flew at Abu Arabian ships, and they tore into a Abu Arabian Destroyer, fracturing it's hull in two, the crew, jumping overboard, and a class frigate, making it start to list, burning and staring to sink. 2 Abu Arabian class destroyers was also hit, this time by Harpoon missiles that had narrowly avoided the missile defence put up to stop them.

As The Abu Arabian cruisers fired 75 Mujahadeen missiles at the Parthian fleet, so Abu Arabian Destroyers fired unguided rockets and their own 8 inch guns.

The Caliph Abu, hanging back from the fight and observing, finally came into view, it's own heavy armour piercing 30 inch guns now firing at the The Shahanshah Khosru.

Abu Arabian Reinforcements arrived in the shape of 75 JA-94's, joined by 25 JA-83's and 150 JA-03's from several arriving class carriers, and battleships headed by the huge figure of The Caliph Abu's sister ship, The Caliph Ali, which immeadiatly trained it's 30 inch heavy armour piercing guns upon the Shah Ardeshir, and firing them, the thunderous booms overwhelming all other noise of battle apart from the booms of The Caliph Abu's 30 inch guns.

The Abu Arabian air force reinforcements certainly came us a help to the Abu Arabian JA-94's and JA-03's already present and under attack from the 20mm Parthian Phlanx guns, SA-2's, and being hit by Parthian F-18's, 19 JA-94's and 2 JA-03's exploding and plunging into the sea, the pilots that could, ejecting.

The Abu Arabian air force reinforcements immeadiatly engaged, engaging the Parthian planes with their own version of Sidewinders, firing 250, the JA-03's firing 20mm guns of their own.

The battle, on sea and air, continued.

On the PNS Vampire (Zheng He Class Uberbattleship, Command Version) nearby:

"Admiral, shall we intervene?"

"No idea, what do we risk going up against the Macabees and the Parthians?"

"The wrath of the right wing nazi/jesus freaks of the world?"

"Good point. Of course, there are plenty of Left wing nations that are willing to help us out against the Parthian and Macabee pigfuckers."

"Shit man, I don't know about the Macabees, they're part of the RWC."

"Oh fuck the RWC, they're toothless."

"Look Admiral, I'm all for helping the Malgerians, but is this worth another freakin' world war?"

"Urgh. You're right, but we can't let the Parthians take Malgeria. We're going to have to intervene on behalf the Malgerians."

"Alright then, strategy?"

"We got to get rid of these Parthians first."

"Then do it. Get our fleet ready, the Macabees are on the opposite side of the Island."

My forces currently available:

1 Zheng He Class Command ship (PNS Vampire)

2 Zheng He Class Uberbattleships

5 Nexus Class Battlecarriers, 100 planes each.

Plane Ratios: 200 ASF-06 Coral Dragon Fighters, 100 ASF-04 Valkyries, 20 G80 Gunships outfitted for naval warfare use, 80 ASF-05 Eagle Drone Fighters equipped for instrumentation and electronics jamming, 100 ASF-05 Eagle Drone Fighters equipped as normal.

1 Velociraptor class Heavy Arsenal ship

5 Flipper class Arsenal ships (what you just saw before)

20 SeaClaw Class Missile cruisers

30 SeaFang class Destroyers

30 SeaLeopard class Destroyers

30 Riptide class Frigates

50 Freddy CIWS/ASW Ships

10 SeaSnake class Nuclear Submarines.

A large fleet train full of supplies (Perhaps 100 supply ships).

The Pwnage Strategy (i'm attacking the Parthians):

Basically, start off with a massive barrage of missiles from my arsenal ships, followed by heavy gun, missile and torpedo fire from my other ships.

The planes will be in the air, trying to remove Parthian aircover, except for the G80s and guarding fighters, which will attack the ships with their anti-ship missiles and nearby jamming fighters, which will interfere with both enemy plane and ship radar.

Actual Rp:

The Arsenal ships, guided by the radar of the planes, locked on.

"Open fire."

6912 missiles from the heavy arsenal ship and a total of 7200 missiles from the lighter arsenal ships, hissed across the sky, drowing out even the sounds of the battleships firing.

Meanwhile, the 2 huge Zheng He class Uberbattleships lined up their 10 inch railguns and fired. Blue corkscrew trails snaked across the Malgerian sea as the railgun slugs flew towards the Parthian fleet.

The Uberbattleships were joined by the command ship with its huge 32 inch ETC cannons.

Meanwhile, the fighters took off, ready to engage the Parthians in the air. The G80s and half the radar jammer fighters however, hovered above the Parthian fleet, blasting anti-ships missiles and dropping supercav torpedoes into the sea.

[OOC: I have a tendency of naming battles as I go along, so this 'battle' will most likely split into several other battles as my armies split, or navies split, or I get attacked on different sides, etc, so don't get confused - most of the time they'll be straight foward.]

Task Force Sickel was still four hundred kilometers away, but it was making headway towards the island of Kzir, hoping to anchor at the predetermined distance from the coastline within three hours. However, the Field Marshall, Ludwing von Heiberschnall, had persuaded Grand Admiral Durgstaden von Laifsraggen to launch a series of air strikes prior to stoping in order to "soften" up the enemy defenses. Although the Grand Admiral knew that his partner in crime was merely bored and hated the extremely slow pace of naval warfare he agreed as in the end it would also carry the fight over the enemy's own territory and not over the fleet.

Inside the Model class Aircraft Carriers a sweet feminine voice began to direct the pilots and logistical crews around, speaking in a sexy French accent which was enough to get the men on the ball. Pilots rushed to their aircraft, both on the deck and below in the storage, climbing the rudimentary ladders to the cockpits and signalling their navigators while starting the engines. On each Model there were seventy-five MMA-A3 Falcon air supremacy aircraft and twenty-five MMA-A1 Kondor strike fighters. The Falcons were the newest in the Macabee ordnance, a joint project between the Macabees, Malatose, NanoSoft and another country, and it was double as good as the older MMA-A2 Hawk air superiority fighter which had a history of superiority on the battlefield - so, the Falcon would be a hard opponent to destroy. However, what gave the Falcon its power was not the speed or foward canards with the rotating machineguns, but the air to air missiles it carried. All Macabee fighters carried the MTAAM-2 Predator air to air missile which used a SCRAMjet propulsion system and a NiAl engine in the rear allowing it a velocity of Mach 4.5 at around sixty thousand feet and upwards of Mach 5 or Mach 6 around eighty thousand feet - it also had ASAT capabilities. The Predator, in short, was state of the art.

So, in the timespan of about thirty minutes all one hundred and fifty MMA-A3 Falcons had been elevated up to the deck and been catapulted off, along with the total of fifty Kondor strike fighters, putting the Macabee's total aircraft number, two hundred planes, in the air preparing for the raid on Melgaria's Kzir island. The Falcons rose to an altitude of sixty thousand feet, a height characteristic of the Hawks, in order to act as an "all seeing eye" with the fleet and personal RADARs and other detection systems while the Kondors kept under one hundred yards, well under most of the older RADARs. They both cruised towards the island at Mach 2.1 while the battle between Parthia and the rest of them raged in the Melgarian Sea. The aircraft had made sure that their strike would follow well south of that, hitting the eastern coast of the major island blocking passage to the main island.

Above the atmosphere the massive SPYSAT arrays had already gathered the sufficient information, pinpointing surface to air missile batteries, major troop concentrations, and open RADAR sites - all of which had already been transferred to Grand Admiral Durgstaden von Laifsraggen who had given it to the squadron commanders on board the carriers. So, the two hundred aircraft were well literate on the defensive systems on the Kzir island and were prepared to obliterate the defeneses on the island - or what the number of missiles would allow, which most feared would fall short of detroying the entire defensive system...well short. However, there was no doubt that the amount of damage done would be quite massive, and would call on a retaliation, so the fleet was already in the process of moving to battlestations, prepared for a lightning strike retaliation.

At a range of two hundred kilometers from their target the Kondors slowed down considerably and dropped their MLAM-2 air to surface missiles. The MLAM-2 was another state of the art missile with a 200kg OctaNitroCubane warhead, which was the strongest synthesized non-nuclear explosive known to man, and with a velocity of Mach 2.1. By the time the air raid was complete the Kondors would drop a total of five hundred of these monsters, aiming at RADAR stations and surface to air missile defenses. The missiles free fell for about ten feet after being unshackeled from the wings of the Kondors before their solid fuel booster engines began to propel them at the given velocity towards their intended targets - they were known for their velocity, power, and accuracy.

After the strike the Kondors stalled and turned around heading back to the carriers to be re-stocked with weapons. The Falcons would act as a rear guard, keeping their "eyes" scanning the horizon looking for enemy contacts both by site and by RADAR, and slowly move back to the carriers also - however, completely keen about enemy movements.

Meanwhile, high above the Earth, a spy satellite found and photographed the Macabee fleet, then beamed the coordinates to the Pwnage fleet.

"Fucking hell, I gotta relieve the pressure on the second island." The Admiral surveyed the situation; the Parthian fleet had to be defeated before the Macabee fleet could be tackled.

Message from Ayatollah Abdul-Bari:

Brother under Allah, it is a shame that one with faith as strong as yours now finds it waning in the time when it is most called for. The people of Malgeria fear no evil in the form of Parthia or their newfound allies, the Macabees. They are all the servants of Satan and will be destroyed as such. Allah will never negotiate with Satan, and neither shall we. The jihad shall be carried on until victory or complete martyrdom has been achieved. Let them come.

Allahu Ackbar!

Ayatollah Abdul-Bari

OOC: Macabees, in response to your question, Parthia is attacking at the indent on my west coast above the peninsula where Malger is located.

Also, I'm going to be out for the rest of today and probably most of tomorrow. Would it be possible to put this on hold until I return? I know we've all had experiences where we come back to find 50 or 60 new, long posts to read and respond to.

While we don't approve of any Jihad against Parthia, we will defend you
against the Macabean Empire. They have no right to attack over pure religious
reasons, but if they were attacking to help Parthia, then we wouldn't even
join. Therefore, we are rerouting four Rosian Fleets near your nation to make
the Combined Malgerian/Rosian Defense Fleet. As soon as the Macabean
presence is nil, we leave.

To: Parthia
From: The Department of Defense

We will be deploying four Rosian fleets to the area. We will no fire upon
Parthian ships for they have the right to attack Malgeria, but we will fire
upon Macabean ships for they have no right to attack Malgeria for religious
reasons. Again, we will not fire on you. Therefore, do not fire on us.

And so, four Rosian fleets started to deploy to Malgeria, with a Command Ship to join them soon.

Phalanx cannons tore missiles from the skies as SM-2s hit many over the seas. The skies lit up with counterbattery fire as Parthian unguided rockets, over 1000 armor piercing ones flew off of an arsenal ship the Parthian fleet brought along. The enemy missiles were almost entireley shredded, but two more destroyers were put out of action and sinking. Then, the shells came, with many splashing around the seas and knocking up columns of white water into the skies. The Shahanshah Khosru continued on, with the shells all missing, but one lucky strike hit the massive Shah Ardeshir, tearing into the side above the waterline and causing some damage as crews moved to do what they could. The enemy superdreadnoughts had exposed their position by firing, and now, utilizing satellite based lasers to pinpoint a target as the turrets were aimed by computer to hit, and their target was the Caliph Abu... The massive ETC guns were turned, and then, with two turrets of four and two turrets of five turned towards the target, they fired a sheet of flame as one volley of 32 shells was followed again by another. The crusiers in the area first fired upon the Malgerian yachts, who had done nothing except scratch the paint were assailed by 5 inch rapid fire guns of the crusiers while their missile tubes were primed and fired a volley of 250 Harpoon missiles. Suddenly, the radar was dark with clouds of missiles miles away, sparking a simple reaction... EMP. The single missile was fired quickly, it had a blast range of about 1/2 a kilometer, which was enough to destroy most of the missile's hardware before they got too close to make EMP unsafe. When it had closed in, it exploded, sending all but 250 missiles crashing into the sea. The volley had forced several ships to power down, and these were hit hard, with almost 10 Destroyers and 5 frigate disabled or sinking. A crusier had exploded and sank in two halves when three missiles hit it. Shells tore into the fleet, with a destroyer torn in pieces as the 32 inch guns hit it. 3 more frigates in the screen fell victim to missiles and torpedoes from the planes while they tried to get through the jamming.

In the air, 18 F-22s and close to 45 F-18s were hit and falling rapidly as more were hit in dogfights. More than 300 F-22s were inbound from Oman, firing away with long range missiles before they closed into AIRAAM range and fired again. 500 missiles were inbound at Arabian airplanes. Another flight of 275 F-22s and 5 E-6s with their jammers active were headed towards the Mass Pwnag airplanes, using the same strategy to try killing them.

ooc: ALM? I'll assume that's me. Btw, did my railguns do anything?

The Arsenal ships fired another 2 salvos of missiles, this time in an arcing parabola, spread out wide, so that all the missiles would rain down vertically on the Parthian fleet. Then they retreated back to the fleet train for reloads.

Meanwhile, the G80s unleashed a volley of Scramjet powered ONC missiles at the Shah Ardeshir from a near vertical angle before pulling out backwards from the Parthian fighters. The ASF-04 Valkyries and ASF-06 Coral Dragons were joined by the jammer and regular ASF-05 Eagles. Meanwhile, 14 ASF-06s and 12 ASF-04s were shot down by the Parthian volley. The Pwnage ASF-04s and ASF-06s turned on Magnetic and LADAR modes and let loose with a huge collective volley of Air-To-Air missiles. The ASF-05s fired volleys of unguided rockets at the Parthian Jammers.

The 8 inch railguns of the battlecarriers turned towards the Parthian fleet and fired a volley, aided by the 10 inch railguns of the Uberbattleships and 32 inch ETC cannons of the Vampire.

[Under the Cold Waves]
The four mammoth submarines belonging to the Leviathan class, the newest in the long line of Macabee submarines, were held up in their pens underneath the waters of Macabea Harbor in the undersea pens. Understandably, the 'rooms' for the Leviathan class submarines were several times larger than those used for the Toledo class SSN, so when the titanium doors began to left they did so slowly and dramatically, struggling to lift the sheer weight of themselves. The shadows conjured by the cliffs which made up the walls of the submarine pen at Macabea City harbor poured through the openings once the doors were up, casting their black linings over the submarines, darkening the already satanic scene. The noses, tapered liked those of a German u-boat of old, and then struggling to regain the more modern cylindrical look, popped out revealing their submarine number, their name and the Macabee double headed eagle. They were, respecitvely, HESS-401 Leviathan, HESS-402 Respite, HESS-403 Armaggedon and HESS-404 Agammemnon - and they were, indeed, the four most powerful submarines in the Macabee arsenal. The four behemoths rolled out of the pens slowly, pushing into the waters of the bay, fully submerged and beginning to turn on their Valhalla nuclear reactors they loomed out of the bay and into the open sea, turning rudder to bear towards Melgaria where their prey awaited them.

Each Leviathan was fully armed with a stock of twenty MT-3 MADCAP torpedoes, ten MT-4 MADCAP torpedoes, five MAT-1 Anti-torpedoes, and twenty Principe III anti-ship missile launched torpedoes, making each one a formidable killing machine, and something that would imprint itself in history forever. The clandestine manuever was designed to alleviate the pressure on the Parthian fleet, as it was receiving the major action while the Macabee fleet bombarded the Melgarian coast at will. So, the Leviathans would simply tear apart the enemy fleets so that the Parthians could direct their fleet efforts towards the enemy air strikes which were taking chunks of the Parthian's fleets.

Expected ETA was a week's [RP] time, at around fifteen knots, until they were somewhere around one hundred kilometers from the enemy fleets - they the Leviathans would have a special prize enstored for them...

Kabaheen Defensive Fleet
The Kabaheen fleet sat silently in the waters, cutting off the entrace to the western inlet. Not far away the battle raged, planes exploding midair, ships causing grand wakes as they sunk beneath the cold deadly sea. And onto the vast aircraft carries 56 planes landed one after another. It appeared as though al-Kabah had strategically retreated. It wasn't the case. Not but a moment after the last plane landed, fresh planes rose above the deck from their landing bays. New pilots took to the crafts, fresh but far from green. These were some of the best trained men in al-Kabah. This fight was far from over.

Western Malgerian Island, Kabaheen Defensive Post Kavar

The gun arrangement was impressive. As the battle was fought at sea, the Hashihim had unloaded the whole of their armaments onto the island, setting up an impressive array of heavy automatic weaponary, high calibre mortars and cannons, not to mention anti-ship guns and the well-armed soldiers themselves.

Colonel Hast paced slowly before the massive anti-ship gun before him as two other men carefully kept it focused on the battle not far off. And they sat, waiting.

The 8 inch railguns of the battlecarriers turned towards the Parthian fleet and fired a volley, aided by the 10 inch railguns of the Uberbattleships and 32 inch ETC cannons of the Vampire.

OOC: It ripped a destroyer to shreds, but like all shelling, it isn't accurate like missiles.

IC: Now, the Parthian satellites detected the missiles and judged their paths, seeing them converging and moving vertically. A few calculations were done, and in a quarter of a second after detection, a spread of EMP missiles were fired and skirted off towards the MassPwnage fleet. The spread of the pulse away from the battle at the oncoming weapons was massive, and very effective. 75 Missiles continued on, having been slightly out of the ideal path. That volley was again engaged by normal means, with SA-2s and Phalanx cannons, killing most but leaving three destroyers destroyed. The scramjets showed up like inkblots on snow on thermal detection, it was easy to intercept them with Parthian SAMs. Pwnage Railguns tore apart two frigates and a destroyer while the Shah Ardeshir returned fire with two salvoes of 18 30 inch shells each. The Shahanshah Khosru joined in, firing their massive shells at the fleet with pinpoint accuracy, having been given a pinpoint target with satellites and aimed by computer. 350 Harpoon missiles rocketed off towards the enemy fleet while 35 Tomahawks flew off the racks of the Shah Ardeshir.

News spread rapidly when more radio transmissions came in, another squadron of Parthian vessels was inbound from the port of Bandar Abbas, including four massive new superdreadnoughts, and a fleet accompanied by ten more infantry divisions and 2 armored divisions.

In the air above, the unguided rockets exploded around the jammers, not doing much damage since fast moving targets capable of evasive maneauvers were easily able to avoid damage. The fighters were less lucky, as 25 F-18s and 34 F-22s crashed into the oceans below. The Parthians tried again, with their squadrons closing in to sidewinder range and firing off a volley of close to 450 missiles while their guns tore up the enemy airplanes.

[OOC: It really depends. If his guns are laser guided you better believe they're accurate. He's using railguns like I do so I don't think he has a laser with the range necessary to make those shell laser guided, unless he's firing at a really close range... that would be up for masspwnge to explain - perhaps, since he missed that point in his own role play it should be held against him - I think that's fair enough. But, again, it's really up to the Parthians and MassPwnge to come to a consensus on that.]

Surface side fleet:

"Missiles coming in."

The CIWS ships scattered around the larger ships tore up the missiles with counterfire. Only 10 Harpoons got past, killing a frigate and not even scratching the paint of the Uberbattleships.

Meanwhile, the shells destroyed a cruiser, and another 2 destroyers and each Uberbattleship took a couple not so serious hits. Meanwhile, the Battlecarriers and Uberbattleships guided by Pwnage spy satellites high above, fired another huge volley of railgun, missile and ETC fire at the Parthian fleet.

The cruisers replied with around 20 or so missiles each. Meanwhile, the Arsenal ships sailed back into combat and reloaded, this time, blasting a hail of partially guided missiles and short range EMP missiles at the Parthians.

In the air:

Things got extremely messy in the air. 31 ASF-06s and 28 ASF-04s got blown out of the air, but the Pwnage fighters fired a large amount of missiles before contact with the Parthians. Meanwhile, the Eagles fired Magnetic and LADAR guided missiles at the jammers.

Fleet, Subsurface: "FUCK! We have subs, Macabean ones."

"Oh fuck... get ready... Meanwhile, unload all unecessary munitions."

"Aye aye bitch!"

Huge amounts of Sub launched cruise missiles (around 200 per sub) were blasted from the sea, streaking right towards the Macabean fleet.

[OOC: Ok, so I guess my submarines are already there - makes things easier for me. Also, I don't know how many submarines you have firing at me, but I'll reply to the best of my ability.]

"Vampire, vampire!" The RADAR man rocketed out his chair and pulled on the collar of his supervisor starting to yell, "Holy shit we got vampires coming in," right into the poor man's ear. The RADAR supervisor pushed his upstart RADAR man back into the chair and told him with a stern voice to calm down, showing not a hint of emotion as he took up the telephone and contacted the admiral through the emergency line, getting through to him within a fraction of a second. The Grand Admiral merely muttered, "Take all needed retaliation methods." On the RADAR chart, which most of the RADAR crew was staring at by now, the outlines of thousands upon thousands of cruise missiles were lit up like christmas lights, with additional aid from the several LIDAR arrays on the ships, and the SODAR arrays. The Macabees were no strangers to mass missile attacks and through years of war experience had learned how to deal with mass missile raids - in fact, the age of the missile was totally exxagerated - the Macabee defense would prove just how true this was.

The attacking submarines had failed to take care of a minor fact, the fact that the Macabee fleet was sorrounding by a massive AWACs network using the RADAR, LIDAR, and downlooking LIDAR, at their disposal, meaning that those missiles weren't going to get very far without being detected first. So, using the highly comtatible Macabee defensive assets and ASW rings, with the CAP and AWACs perimeters, the Praetorian V surface to air missile batteries lifted their angle - the angle between the ground and the imaginary straight line running through the bottom profile of each battery, in order to counter the massive missile raid. Within seconds the batteries began to divulge dozens of Praetorian V surface to air missiles, fire leaping from the escape gauges in the rear of the batteries, drenching the steel decks with the fiery inferno. However, all of this chaos on the decks were left behind by the quick Praetorian Vs, using their conventional boosters to take them up to the necessary height, where upon the boosters would fall off and into the sea, and their SCRAMjet engines would propel them through the atmospheres towards the cruise missiles. The catch was if those missiles were sea-skimmers, which if they were they would have to be within a half a kilometer in order to get into terminal phase - unlike regular anti-ship missiles - however, this would give the Praetorian Vs more than enough time to ravage the incoming cruise missiles. Task Force Sickel could put around two thousand Praetorian Vs in the air at any one time, so these screamed towards the incoming arsenal poised to wreak havoc among the Macabee ships, while the Praetorian Vs reloaded. The RADAR fall chart soon witnessed the destruction of hundreds of the cruise missiles, as Praetorian Vs faithfully collided into the incoming missiles, drowning them out in masses. Indeed, firing so many missiles in such a short time period out of so little assets on the water actually gave the Macabees the advantage as it meant that the cruise missiles were likely clustered, which if one was hit the shrapnel would most likely tear into another one. Thus meaning, most of the cruise missiles were by now, most realistically, falling half destroyed into the blue waves below, failing to reach close to their mark. However, there were still substantial numbers racing towards the Macabee fleet, and these were still incredibly dangerous, as the Macabees could not afford to lose any ships as their logistical lines were far too long to quickly reinforce the task force with additional ships, ergo a task force depleted of its defense would fall quickly to the guns of the enemy. No matter, it was unlikely that the Macabee fleet would be destroyed in one fall swoop, and indeed this proved to be the case. The Praetorian Vs managed to let loose another volley of Praetorian Vs before the cruise missiles struck, which downed further mass amounts of incoming cruise missiles, making the job for the DREAD guns and conventional CIWS much easier. The last resort weapons sputtered lead bullets and steel balls into the air, the DREADS themselves creating a virtual wall of these little steel balls blocking the missiles from their prizes. The organization of Macabee fleets also helped out, because those missiles aiming for the larger capital ships had to pass over three ASW perimeters, which meant that the ASW perimeters could just shoot them out the sky with ease, protecting the carriers and battleships, as well as the logistical ships and troop carriers. However, the destroyers in the first ASW perimeter, along with the patrol boats and cruisers, although lucky, fell short of a casualty less first fight. Three cruise missiles teared into a single Seydlitz class Cruiser, ensuring its destruction, and it sunk within two minutes, although about six hundred sailors were able to escape the inferno, and were later picked up by hospital ships. Two destroyers were hit by one cruise missile a piece, causing extensive damages, although those would be repaired in time to see the next fight, and another destroyer was hit by no less than thirty cruise missiles, and it didn't sink, instead it was obliterated. Six patrol boats were sunk with another eight damaged, although these too would be repaired quickly. Although by Macabee standards it had been a debacle the Macabee task force was actually lucky, lucky to have such an organized fleet and such a well programmed defense force.

Task Force Sickel would not close the day by just taking casualties. An ample retaliation had been organized within seconds of the RADARs catching on to the raid and the positions of the submarines which had launched said cruise missiles had been quite easily triangulated. So, the ASROC batteries depreciated and soon these too spit out fire when they released their batch of MT-3 MADCAP torpedoes. The MT-3s would use their water RAMjet engines to silently push them through the crisp waters under the Melgarian Sea, using their NiAl engine coatings to give them a range of seventy to eighty kilometers. As for submarines which were out of range of the MT-3s they weren't going to be let ouf of the fun. Indeed, the VLS cells on the battleships and destroyers released their Principe IIIs which were programmed to slow down and release their torpedoes right over said submarines. The Principe IIIs used their rocket fuel booster to quickly push through the lower atmosphere, sea-skimming the entire way, and when it got rather close to its computated target it slowed down considerably, broke apart, and dropped its Mt-3 MADCAP torpedo nose first into the water, which would use the ship's SONARs and its own LIDAR/SONAR devices on the nose to home in onto the submarines. A total of one hundred sole MT-3s were released, along with one hundred Principe IIIs. The hunt was on.

To: The Island of Rose
From: Maldaathi
The Island of Rose, you have decided to briefly take the side of Malgeria
to defeat the Macabeen fleet. In the off-chance our
fleets come into contact we will not fire at them and nor
should the Rosian fleets take fire at us.
We hope you feel the same way
Signed: Imperial Minister of Warfare, Eodai Lorkir

North of Malgeria, Malgerian Sea
The 5 Maldathian Fleets cruised closer to land but still saw no enemy fleet. This made the crew weary. Ambush maybe? The fleet was in a box formation with the 5th fleet (the fleet carrying the troops and veichles) safe guarded in the middle. The Undisclosed amount of troops were to move to Al-Azir to take out all military defences and troops then to head directly South West to Ad-Qusar to assassinate important politcal figures. Agong the way the troops would take what they needed from the small Oasis community between Al-Azir and Ad-Qusar. Afterwards would be decided upon the variables.

1st Tocrowkian naval scouter group
80 Destroyers
90 Cruisers
12 Carriers
100 Submarines

[The Leviathans Strike]
The Tocrowkian fleet had put so much fire power in the attack against the Parthians they were creating more noise than New Orleans during Mardi Gras, which passed over the utter advantage to the mere four Leviathans sludging through the waters of the Melgarian Bay. All four captains had turned off the Valhalla nuclear reactors on the submarines and switched to their hydrogen fuel cell stacks which had enough life for about three hundred kilometers worth of voyage which was more than enough needed for this strike. Indeed, the strike would be severely out range of Tocrowkian naval assets. The four Leviathans rose abreast to a position about one hundred and fifty feet under the troughs of the waves, without making a noise, a testament to their use of the hydrogen fuel cell stacks, which meant that with all the noise the enemy fleet was making they would be silent, technically in the enemy's shadow zone - which meant that they were silent from all enemy fleets... the perfect place for a quick strike.

Each Leviathan had three VLS cells, each with four compartments, and these were flooded and loaded with the vaunted Principe III missile launched torpedoes. Each Leviathan held twenty Principe IIIs, which mean two full three hundred and sixty degree turns from the VLS cells, and thus the hell began. The captains ordered their respective crews to begin fire after the RADAR atenna was lifted above the water and the coordinates of the enemy fleet engraved on the system's computers. Then the VLS tubes began to release their Principe IIIs three by three, meaning three every five seconds from each Leviathan, and each submarine put all twenty Principe IIIs out within thirty-five seconds, which meant that a full eighty Principe IIIs floated to the surface and were soon sea-skimming towards the Tocrowkian fleet, aiming for the eighty destroyers which most likely made up Tocrowkia's ASW (anti-submarine warfare) perimeter around his capital ships. The Principe IIIs would fly at Mach 2.1 most of the way and about sixty to seventy kilometers away from the destroyers they turned on their heavy jamming devices while the slowed down in mere seconds. The Principe IIIs at the pre-selected range of about sixty-five kilometers, split apart and a MT-3 MADCAP torpedo dived nose first into the cold waters below, sinking a few dozen feet before their water RAMjet propulsion systems began to push them at around seventy knots towards the enemy destroyers. The underwater RAMjet would render the MT-3 the most quiet torpedo in the seas, and the destroyers, making so much noise, wouldn't even know that the torpedoes were in the water until they had a huge gaping hole in the side of the hull and taking on water - in short, the destroyers would be devastated.

The attack wasn't over yet. While the Principe IIIs were still slipping out of the VLS tubes the captains had ordered all tubes readied and opened for snapshots against Tocrowkian submarines. So, while the enemy submarines were forging havoc against the Parthian fleets the Leviathans were poised to craft a crippling blow against Tocrowkia. Soon enough all eighty MT-3 MADCAP torpedoes in all four Leviathan's stockpile were electrically fired from the dozen 500mm torpedo tubes on each Macabee Leviathan. These were wire guided, as well as through SONAR and blue-green LIDAR, which meant that if the enemy fired counter measures the torpedoes would totally ignore them, and in the worst scenario the torpedo supervisors could just guide the torpedo back on target. These MT-3s were to be guided right into the hulls of the Tocrowkian submarines and utterly devastate their numbers before they could react.

After the attack was finished, including seeing the torpedoes hit their targets, the Leviathans, using their utterly silent hydrogen fuel cell stack engines, would slip out of the Melgarian Sea and back into the Macabee fleet and soon tug along side one of the two Macabee armament ships and tankers which would refuel the hydrogen fuel cell stacks and re-stock the Leviathans with even heavier loadouts, including more Principe IIIs and more MT-3 MADCAP torpedoes for the 500mm tubes.

"I need a damage report!"

Singer shouted over the explosions and screams of the battle. "Hold on a minute sir..." A young private said as he looked around the sea with some binoculars. "Sir, looks like they've sunk at least 18 of our destroyers, and atleast 20 are critically damaged!" Other officers in the room tried to find out the toll on the fleets submarine group.

With all those destroyers sunk, and an unknown toll on the submarines, the fleet had lost almost half it's firepower. "This is just great..." Singer said to him self as he brushed his sweaty hair with his hand. His fleet was literally dead in the water. "Sir, we're getting reports of 20 submarines sunk!" One of the radio operator's shouted.

Singer started to some serious thinking now, he had to come up with a plan to hold out untill the main fleet arrived. "Hmmm, reform a phalanx. Put the critcally damaged ships in front, the mediumly damaged ships in the second line, and so on. Keep the healthy ships in the middle."

"Also, send out salvage teams to the damaged ships to recover any ammo or explosives they can. Have them put it on the life boats, and send it on over to our Parthian friends with a satchel charge in it. And have the remaining submarines form a phalanx directly under us, and have them hold their fire. We need to be on the look out for what hit us before, and make sure it doesnt happen again."
Abu Arabia

Another flight of 275 F-22s and 5 E-6s with their jammers active were headed towards the Mass Pwnage airplanes, using the same strategy to try killing them.

IC:

The 62 Parthian shells were lobbed towards The Caliph Abu, sailing through the air with a 'Whoooooom' sound. most landed in the sea, narrowly avoiding the giant vessel, but a few scored a hit, scraping and exploding on the sides and front of The Caliph Abu, leaving scorchmarks and indentations.

The Caliph Abu now had battle scars, but showed none the worse for it.

Parthian unguided rockets, over 1000 armor piercing ones came flying towards Abu Arabian vessels, threatening an onslaught.

An Abu Arabian EMP missile was fired to try and blunt the incoming attack, and the EMP missile exploded, knocking all but 200 of course, the surviving missiles smashing into 8 Abu Arabian Destroyers and 7 Frigates, some of them breaking in half, crew burning alive as they jumped into the sea, others listing and burning.

Two more Cruisers and a Destroyer of the Abu Arabian fleet were also hit, flames erupting.

Other Abu Arabian vessels did what they could to pick up the survivors.

The Caliph Abu and The Caliph Ali now turned their 32 inch guns on the Parthian fleet, firing their huge shells at enemy ships, the sound of the firing, deafening.

As they fired from above, so Yassin Class Submarines, lurking like sharks amongst the melee, targeted Parthian vessels from below, firing their Torpedos.

The 500 enemy missiles incoming, and long range missiles and AIRAAM missiles incoming at the Abu Arabian JA-83's, JA-94's, and JA-03's made them take evasive action, the jets forming a plan of intertwining each others paths, firing their rapid fire cannons at the missiles pursuing each other's planes, some of which exploded, whilst others were knocked off couse by the dropping of distraction flares by the Abu Arabian jets, causing missiles to pursue the flares instead, Abu Arabian vessels joined in, carefully pinpointing a missile and firing their 20mm rapid fire guns.

Nonetheless, evasive and defensive techniques still could not stop 45 JA-83's and 18 JA-94's from being destroyed, exploding into fiery fireballs, sending hot pieces of debris raining down onto the ships of both sides below.

The surviving JA-83's, JA-94's and JA-03's regained composure, firing 500 missiles in return fire at the enemy planes.

Abu Arabian 20mm gun crews on their ships, taking pleasure in firing at Parthians who had jumped into the sea from their sinking ships, now turned their guns to the Parthian planes, firing at them unrelenting, stopping to make sure they did not shoot down the missiles fired by the Abu Arabian jets.

Abu Arabian navy and air reinforcements were a possibility.

The ships broke onto the scene from off in the distance, the Malgerian island still a few miles away. Jean-Jacque le Marist had grown up a soldier. And after joing the Alliance of Islamic States, he had quickly realized the flaw in their defensive set up. Completely unhindered by wars on other fronts, le Marist had mobilized six fleets, though only five now sailed in formation, cutting a swift pace--towards the northern half of Malgeria.

Le Marist a few things.
1. How do you know my fleet is in the north?
2. By the time you get there my fleet would have moved and my forces disembarked and mobilized.
3. You have 7 posts how do you have 6 fleets?
4. You have a 280 million defence budjet so on second thought my fleet will stay because your fleets will be in VERY POOR condition due to little to no upkeep.

Thanks for listening to my complaints

If you do go ashore, give the guy a chance to respond before pushing inland. Remember, he's got a determined population of 140+ million people. Even if he doesn't, have MLF forces where you land, the people are going to resist, and that's a lot of people.

OOC: Say what?!? Indonesia is a Muslim country. It's in the Pacific Ocean. In fact, Ayad (my fictional land) is in the West Pacific (in NS terms), and (AFAIC) ethnically Polynesian/Melanesian. "Most Islam (sic) countries are near Saudi Arabia..." is simply not true. It's up to Malgeria to say where Malgeria is, which is another reason to slow down until he's back online.

(BTW, from the name, I've always assumed that "Malgeria" is in North Africa ("Malgeria"="Mali"+"Algeria"), so if I'm right Sierra Leone would be very close, and the Parthians and Abu Arabians would be operating at the end of a long supply line...

(However, the Malgeria player has produced a map showing Malgeria as a largish island, so my current guess would be that it's an island in the Indian Ocean near the Arabian Sea [within range of Parthian strike aircraft orginating from Oman, since the Malgerian player hasn't objected to these attacks].)

The anchor was somber. So much death, she thought, and all because of egotism and bigotry. She retained her composure.

“We are beginning to have estimates of losses on both sides. Remember, these are very rough estimates, mostly gleaned from witnesses on nearby shores or merchants that have fled the area, some from official sources:”

The graphic went up on the screen as she spoke:

Parthians: 50+ Vessels Sunk/Crippled
(including 1 Cruiser)
180+ Aircraft Shot Down

Macabees: 8 Vessels Sunk/Crippled
________________________________________

Abu Arabia: 20+ Vessels Sunk/Crippled
100+ Aircraft Shot Down

Al-Kabah: 3 Vessels Sunk/Crippled
45+ Aircraft Shot Down

MassPwnage: 4 Vessels Sunk/Crippled
85 Aircraft Shot Down

Tocrowkia: 38 Vessels Sunk/Crippled

“And now, for analysis, we have in our studio Ret. Major General George Reine, who – until recently – served as an operational planner at the Allemander Department of Defense. General, what do you make of these losses? Can we tell who’s winning?”

General Reine spoke in a level tone. “First, we need to keep in mind that these losses – while listed in terms of machines lost or knocked out of action – are also human losses. We’re talking about thousands of deaths on both sides, many horrible. At sea, in modern war, people either drown or burn to death. It isn’t pretty.

“Next, I’m struck by the fact that the Parthians have taken such losses and keep on coming. They’ve lost almost 200 planes and yet still have almost 1000 in the air. At the end of the day, that may be what decides this: how much of a beating are the Parthians prepared to take to get ashore?

“Finally, while the casualties have been even up until now, with each side losing about 60 vessels and 200 aircraft, that won’t continue. The Macabees’ fleet will soon get tangled up in this, and the Maldaathi fleet is waiting in the wings. All that the Malgerian alliance has left coming are the Tocrowkians, and they’ve already been hit hard by the Macabees.” He paused.

“So the worst is yet to come?” she asked. Hasn’t this been enough? she thought.

“Yes, especially for the Malgerians and their allies. The balance is shifting against them, and I think the way will soon be clear for invasion”, he finished.

“We’re actually beginning to get reports that Maldaathian troops have landed near Al-Azir, so it may be coming sooner than we think…”

OOC: No godmodding here, just a tally of the losses each side has admitted in this thread. Keep 'em coming

The Parthians
26-02-2005, 20:52

Again the Parthians responded, but rather than EMP missiles, it was time to try something new. Satellites above the battle pinpointed the missiles and calculated their trajectories, feeding the data into the fire control computers of the Parthian air defense screen. The missile volley was fairly exact, with one or two missiles to each weapon fired, with the data feed from the satellites, the system was nearly perfect, splashing nearly all the missiles and letting only 10 in beyond the defensive screen. Two destroyers were hit and sinking when the shells came in and tore 3 frigates and 2 more destroyers. One was torn in three parts when two 30 inch shells hit her.

The Parthian satellites in turn pinpointed the arsenal ships, giving the data to the fire control systems of the fleet. The guns on the Shah Ardeshir and Shahanshah Khosru were aimed according to computer data, and in one fell swoop unleashed a volley of shells. Crusiers and destroyers joined in, firing their Harpoon missiles in a volley of nearly 500. In addition, reinforcing fleets arrived, firing off another volley of 500 missiles at the Pwnage fleet. With the reinforcements were four new modified Totalitarian class superdreadnoughts from the Fascist Confederacy, the Shah Shapur, the Shah Bahram, the Shah Narseh, and the Shah Yazdegird. As they moved further into range, they prepared to fire.

In the air, a further 15 F-22s were hit and one of the E-6 jamming aircraft was going down rapidly. As the Pwnage aircraft closed in, Parthian planes fired a volley of nearly 500 sidewinder missiles at whatever was closest. 20mm cannons lit up the sky as tracers and shells tore into enemy planes.

Subs:

"Alrighty... countermeasure time..."

The Pwnage subs had sound absorbing tiles (ooc:anecholic tiles?) on them, so torpedo SONAR wouldn't do too much find them. Secondly, their paint had flecks of fiber optic cable embedded into them that would scatter laser beams in all directions. Thirdly, small anti-torpedo torpedoes, designed to seek out hostile LADAR and SONAR were launched from the subs. None of the MADCAPs got even close.

"They will hurt for this."

Meanwhile, the Pwnage subs silently retreated from the Macabee fleet.

Surface Side: Not pleasant. The arsenal ships, discharged all their remaining missiles at once in a desperation move. The Velociraptor class suffered some damage from a shell, and an arsenal ship was destroyed.

The 1,000 total missiles were again shredded by the CIWS ships. 20 more missiles made their way through, sinking a destroyer and a frigate.

The Uberbattleships and Battlecarriers fired another huge volley at the Parthian fleet, guided by satellite imagery. Meanwhile, the G80s took off again from the battlecarriers, this time, dropping more than 100 Supercavitating torpedoes at the Parthian fleet.

In the air: 12 ASF-06s and 13 ASF-04s went down. It was getting messy in the air, pilots were so close that planes literally were crashing into each other. The ASF-05s suddenly unleashed a volley of Air-to-Air missiles at the Parthians from the flank.

Reinforcements:

"MOVE! MOVE!"

From Pwnage Somalia, 400 more ASF-06s and 450 more ASF-04 Valkyries began taking off from airfields, as well as 20 SAR-5 Sensor/Jammer planes and 120 G80s equipped for Naval Warfare. At Caluula Harbor, 2 more Zheng He class Uberbattleships, as well as 3 Velociraptor class arsenal ships, 5 Flipper class arsenal ships, 60 more destroyers, 50 more cruisers, 60 more frigates, 100 more Freddy CIWS ships, 5 more Nexus class Battlecarriers, 10 more SeaSnake class submarines and 1 enormous Sea Dragon class Ubercarrier with more than 1200 planes onboard. Added to this was another massive fleet train.

At Diego Garcia, 100 SB-6 and 40 SB-5 Stealth Bombers naval bombers and 500 ASF-06 fighter escorts began to take off en masse from the island's extensive airfields. Yes....

The Tocrowkian Grand fleet was nearing Malgerian waters fast, but it suddenly halted progress. Captain Jennifer Swan was coldly ordered an indefinite shut-down of all naval vessels. "What are you doing? Captain Singer needs our help!" One of the privates shouted,

"I know, but did you see what happened to Singers fleet because of the Macabees? We cant risk that with the Grand fleet, it would be a disaster. We've pretty much lost the naval war already, and we need to start focusing on the land campaign. The Grand Fleet will stay in international waters untill then."

She said coldly. Capt. Swan then ordered the following land divisions to be activated and deployed for Malgeria.

Tocrowkian 1st, 2nd, & 3rd armies deployed for Malgeria
Ten 1st Assair's Guard division's(Elite troops): 1,125,000 Men
5th Army group: 3,000,000,men + artillery
1st & 2nd armored riders of Assair divisions: 20,000 Tanks and 30,000 men
23rd Army Air Group: 4,000 Combat helicopters

These troops were deployed with utmost speed via thousands of air born transports. Captain Swan also announced she would take command of the land campaign for now.

[Naval Battle Against MassPwnage]
[OOC: Anachoic tiles on a torpedo won't do much. Also, fire optics won't disrupt a LIDAR signal - you would need mirrors to do that, which would render anachoic tiling useless. Also anachoic tiling is almost useless agaisnt modern SONARs.]

The enemy torpedoes were a rediculous option and none of the torpedoes ever reached the Macabee fleet because, simply put, the distance was far too great for a torpedo to cover - at least, one hundred kilometers. If there were small amount of torpedoes which maged to get through the ASROCs and torpedo tubes on the Manstein class Destroyers of the ASW perimeter would just drop MAT-1 anti-torpedoes which would elimante the incoming torpedoes - there weren't enough to really make a difference against so much Macabee fire power. However, the fact that the enemy submarines had survived without a scratch was very disturbing, so the Macabees would have to commit itself to a more direct and more personal way of ridding the seas from the hazards of enemy submarines.

But it was time to utterly destroy those enemy submarines - there would be no chance that those submarines would have enough time to turn around and silently leave. The ASROC batteries again appreciated upwards and let loose a volley of some eight hundred Principe IIIs which sea-skimmed at Mach 2.1, fire pouring behind it like a dragon's mouth, and right over the presence of those submarines dropped the MT-3 MADCAP torpedoes. However, although large that wasn't the main offensive procedure. Such a massive missile and torpedo raid would understandibly take the effort of the crews of those submarines, so, the ASROC cannons were reloaded within thirty seconds of the first launch with missile launched cluster bombs which acted as modern depth charges. Meaning, that one thousand of these would be fired from the ASROC cannons from each and every Macabee ships (one thousand total) and they would break up over the presence of enemy ships and drop to the prescribed depth and explode using metallic anamoly detection, which any submarine made out of steel or titanium, or any type of metallic frame (which all are), had. So, in short, either the enemy submarines would try to evade the depth charges which would open them up to utter destruction from the torpedoes, or they would try to evade or fight the torpedoes which would only end in their destruction through the depth charges. The only realistic conclusion to the story of those submarines was their destruction.

Moreover, Macabee sattelites had caught the movement of more MassPwnage ships coming from their harbors all over their nation so the Grand Admiral opted to destroy the fleet the enemy had at hand before it could rondevouz with the rest of its fleet where it would be increasingly difficult to destroy it. So, the hundreds of VLS cells existant on the ships of Task Force Sickel opened and prepared for their missile raid on the MassPwnage fleet at hand. Soon enough, about one hundred by one hundred, the VLS cells launched their Principe IIIs, until the VLS cell had made a complete three hundred and sixty degree turn, in which it began to make a second turn, and in the end made three full turns, which meant that in total one thousand two hundred Principe IIIs were launched within a time span of a single minute. The Principe IIIs would sea-skim at about ten meters above the surface of the water at Mach 2.1 using their solid rocket fuel engines and seventy kilometers from their target the missile capsule would break and drop their MT-3 MADCAP torpedoes into the water. The MT-3 MADCAPs were driven through a water RAMjet which was almost absolutely silent, and for a enemy fleet that was commiting itself to a major missile offensive against the Parthian fleet they would be dead silent. There was little that, realistically, the enemy could do to save himself this time. In order to ensure the complete destuction of the enemy fleet present around the Malgerian Bay the VLS tubes then began to make another three three hundred and sixty degree turns firing the normal SS-N-19 Shipwreck anti-shipping missiles which were programmed to split into three groups, one flanking right, another left, and another straight on, so that way the enemy CIWS and surface to air missiles would only be able to target two of three groups, ensuring that at least one of those groups would hit the enemy fleet - and on top of that, it would take the remainder of the attention away while the silent MT-3s completed their deadly job.

Back on the flagship the admiral was presented with quite astonishing news, "Sir, take a look at these photos taken from one of our sattelites over MassPwnage in Somalia."

The admiral sat up and glossed over the pictures and replied with a mere, "Mmhhmm."

The commander who was trying to get the admiral's attention was obviously vexed and began to brief his superior, "Sir, as you can see, those bombers aren't there anymore and we think we know where the hell they're going.... they're going to us."

It was quite a shock, however, it was all the same. Those bombers would be caught at least one thousand kilometers out by the AWACs and ship based RADAR which would give the Falcons enough time to respond with a massive aerial offensive...

"Shit... our subs are fucked Admiral."

"Oh fucking peachy."

"LADAR and magnetic also shows torpedos."

"Counter torpedos then."

The CIWS/ASW ships launched small LADAR supercav torpedoes at the MADCAPS and destroyed many of them. A few however, got through, and they ripped apart a cruiser and 2 more destroyers.

The Command and Control systems on the uberbattleships were not tricked by the splitting missiles.

The fleet integrated computing system allowed the phalanx guns and counter missiles fired seperately to take down the fragmented missiles as they came, blowing them out of the sky like Canada geese flying over Redneckville, USA.

Only 2 missile fragments got through, hitting an uberbattleship and doing almost no damage.

Meanwhile, the SB-6 Naval bombers had a good lock on of the Macabee fleet. They launched a hail of extremely fast moving partially guided solid fueled missiles (think Saturn V) at it. The stealth bombers would fire when they got in closer.

Meanwhile, the SB-6 Naval bombers had a good lock on of the Macabee fleet. They launched a hail of extremely fast moving partially guided solid fueled missiles (think Saturn V) at it. The stealth bombers would fire when they got in closer.

MassPwnage was one of the hardest countries to make up a name for which resembled something along the lines of 'Macabee' or 'American' so by now the fleets had made up their own nicknames in order to refer to the MassPawnage assets around the Bay of Malgeria and that was 'Ownagian', which although hardly imaginative atleast got the point across and was fairly easy to remember. The Macabee task force had its time to get familiar with the Ownagian naval forces and they learned that the Ownagians were very friendly - in fact, these were some of the most intense... no, no, by far the most intense... naval operations in Macabee history and the outcome of the battle could still swing to either side. So, understandably, the men on board were quite tense and prepared for anything that came at them. But when the MRT-1 and the MRT-2 RADARs, as well as the MST-1 SODARs, caught the incoming missiles the fleet had been attacked with its pants down - at least partially. Sure, the fleet could handle the missiles but it was strange that the bombers were able to burn through into range in order to hit the Macabee fleets in the first place - that wouldn't happen again. The RADAR man who had so lively warned his supervisor of the incoming anti-shipping missiles of the previous strike again jumped out of his seat to yell, "Vampire, vampire!". In a beautiful show of discipline all the RADAR men turned to their screens, put on their headphones, and began to brutal process of keeping those missiles on the Macabee track - which in general wasn't difficult.

Grand Admiral Durgstaden von Laifsraggen, after being notified of the incoming missiles - whithin seconds of the astonishing find, I might add - pressed the red button on his white emergency line speaker and when the other line picked up he solemnly said,"Rig the task force for depth charge. Flip the switches to automatic. I want us to get through this one just the same way we got through the last one. Nothing less than victory." He put the phone down and got up - these days being missiles was an every day happenstance. Being rigged for depth charge meant just what is said, however, most navies around the world now used that line for missiles, torpedoes and depth chargers alike, and when it was muttered it meant a grave day indeed, albeit for the Macabees the skies were far from dark. In fact, the skies were lighter than ever, and victory was never so close to the Macabee grasp.

Inside those trimaran hulls of the Macabee ships inside that small task force the halls were quiet, not a movement, not a whisper. Most of the crew were at battlestations, prepared to take hard hits, and give them back. The computers were quickly computing distances using all kinds of Doppler and DIAL and all that techno mumble jumble that some physician had developed. It was truly ironic that such a serene setting was meant for death, and furthermore, that such technology, thought as the advancement of humanity, was built for the destruction of it too. Such ironies, though, had little place on the battlefield, and more so when it was such a fight to the brutal death. In the end both fleets would most likely suffer thousands upon thousands of death. Although the Parthian propaganda machine had claimed only twenty thousand lives dead in truth that number was much neared to around eighty thousand, and if debacle struck in the Parthian fleet the numbers of those who travelled to the River Styx and into the world of Hades would rise exponentially - perhaps over two hundred thousand dead, which was half as much as the Germans lost at Stalingrad. Like the 'Ownagagians' had most intelligently put it, this was another Stalingrad - the effects of the brutal battle were already apparent as dead bodies, twisted and charred after days of chaotic combat, fell to the bottom of the ocea. Chaotic combat, so oxymoronic, and yet so true in its essential form. Sure, combat was organized, disciplined, and coordinated, however, to its soul it was nothing more than hectic orders and desperate men which would only end with a mere tally on a piece of paper processed to world capitals which would then find itself on books which people would read and later remark, "How sad," and then go back to their dinners. It was with this mentality that one must see the Macabee cause and how it defended and how it struck. It was at one end numbers on paper, and on the other end the most stupid decisions made by mortals - decisions that nobody understood.

So, when those missiles were caught far off from the Macabee task force the Praetorian V batteries, just as they had before, in the same patters, the same set of movements, appreciated to the correct angle calculated, not by a human, but by a computer, and let loose its volley of twenty Praetorian V surface to air missiles. Praetorian V batteries all over the fleet, from the destroyers to the battleships to the cruisers to the patrol boats all completed the same task, as if completely computerized. The red, orange, with the occasional blue, fires spit out from behind drenching sections of the armored deck on the ships, crafting quite the pattern on the flat surface, something which not even Piccasso could catch in his Guernica. The surface to air missiles rose into the air and soon stalled only to be immediately pushed to velocities exceeding Mach 4, soon enough Mach 5, and at some point Mach 6, using their SCRAMjet engines. They would use the ship based LIDAR, SODAR and RADAR to intercept the incoming minimized Saturn Vs, as well as their own LIDAR and RADAR guided through the warhead, as well as inertial and GPS guidance. The partially unguided enemy missiles wouldn't stand a chance, and indeed they were torn to shreds by the Praetorian V, but as in all aspects of combat some got through and these would have to be dealt with again by the Macabee fleet and yet another salvo of Praetorian Vs were launched in the same cynical fashion as the last, with the same cynical results, and like always some of the incoming missiles managed to get through. Such rhytmic patters and it failed to be one hundred percent effective - it just went to show that even computers, the saviour of man kind, was not as an effective killing machine as once thought. The incoming missiles were soon targetted by the short range LIDAR arrays on the ships as the DREAD guns turned in hectic one hundred and eighty decree sector arcs literally putting up a wall of steel infront of those missiles, which managed to destroy most of the ones which had survived the massage Praetorian V barrages. However, again, some, albeit few, adapted, just like an animal, and got through the continous obstacles that the Macabees created for them. Those missiles aimed for the larger Macabee ships had to pass over an AWACs, a CAP, and three ASW perimeters, meaning they weren't going to make it, no matter what the percentage of computer fault was, but those who had targetted against the first and second ASW perimeters did hit - at least some of them - and caused damage, extensive enough for the Macabees to think it pertinent to heighten task force security. Three patrol boats were blown out of the water, and two destroyers as well, and a single cruiser, along with two frigates, marking another estimated one thousand five hundred killed, rising the total death mark to around four thousand five hundred dead. Tragic, but yet only a statistic.

Over head the MMA-A3 Falcons were already poised to strike hard. Over the time period it had taken the incoming missiles to close the distance all one hundred and fifty MMA-A3 Falcons had been scrambled into the air, about sixty thousand feet high. They flipped on their afterburners, pushing them at Mach 3.1, using their thick frames to support the friction, and made their way to a total height of somewhere around eighty thousand feet where they cruised towards the enemy bombers. From a range of twenty kilometers each Falcon released two of its total of twenty MTAAM-2 Predator air to air missiles, meaning that three hundred Predator missiles would soon smash their way into those SB-6 bombers and obliterate them. Furthermore, the quickly advancing Falcons managed to get a lock on the incoming 'stealth bombers' which pushed the Falcons to put enough MTAAM-2 Predator air to air missiles in the air to put four MTAAM-2s to each 'stealth bomber'. Stealth was no longer stealth as it once had been, for the most part even the less advanced real life American RADAR systems and especially the Russian ones could burn through stealth, and this was no different with the Macabee RADARs, and actually even more so. So, those bombers were mince meat.

The lead Falcon muttered,"Hotel-9 to Mike-1. Kills are likely. Repeat, kills are likely. I don't think these guys are getting out of this one easy."

The Falcons decided to stick around until they witnessed the destruction of each and every bomber and kept their RADARs ready to catch incoming Ownagian fighters, in case they decided to tango in the skies. If that were the case the Ownagian fighters would find that the Falcons would start to step on their feet, and hard...

"Twenty Minutes ago I recieved word that HMS's Amethyst Indefatigable and Indomidable arived as close to the war zone as they could whilst remaining in international waters and beyond some close scrutiny by several large warships of the Macabee Navy have remained unmolested. The Captain of the Amethyst has informed me that he has finished preperations for holding a sumit whilst aboard and awaits orders. I beseach all parties in this war to please consider returning to the negotiation table before the losses become too large to consider. I humbly await your responses to this telegram.

Kindest regards,
HRH Tomas de Niven, King of Nivenka"

Amethyst's Captain read the radio broadcast as it came through to be passed onto the relevant nations, he sighed as the faint wiff of cordite blew through the mighty warship.
"I hope to the Goddess that this works, I really do." He muttered under his breath as he hit the send button personally.
