Small Asteroid hits Kongola! Help!

Kongola

It was a quiet day in the capital city of Kongola. There were reports of an asteroid coming towards Earth, but it was believed to miss Earth by only forty thousand miles. People felt that since it would miss Earth, there was nothing to worry about, and life carried on like normal. However, soon, rumors started to float around about something called Acigoo. Most people didn't know what it was. There were, though, some people who seemed to tense up at the mentioning of it. They knew what it was, and knew they didn’t want to arrive on Earth again. Even the government seemed to be hiding something. When asked about the rumors, they would never comment about it, and just seemingly ignored it all together. People were excited to see this asteroid, which is believed to be extremely small, about three miles wide by seven miles in length.

Three months later, news broke that Earth would have a better view of this asteroid then previously expected. Instead of it passing by only forty thousand miles from Earth’s atmosphere, it was expected to hit Earth. Where was it expected to hit? Kongola; to be more precise, the capital city, Kongtown.

Within days, Kongola was requesting foreign aid to prepare for the seemingly imminent impact. Shortly thereafter, foreign military began entering Kongola to help prepare the nation of Kongola. Most paranoid people thought that they were there to watch the impact happen and kill any survivors. Fortunately, those paranoid people were few in numbers and had little effect on the people.

But, soon, the recently appeared, however faint and small, “star” in the sky did. As the days drew by, the predicted impact date drawing nearer and nearer, panic began to set in. Hours turned into days, days blurred into weeks. This “star” was beginning to look a lot larger and brighter than any normal star.

Finally, the day had arrived. Each hour, it grew closer and closer, slowly growing in size over the capital. In the streets people began to panic and chaos ensued. Looting ran ramped across the nation. The smarter people, however, began to flee. As the final hour before impact arrived, the city appeared to be looking at two suns.

Only a half an hour until the impact, and smaller impacts of the fragments were hitting the city, causing more chaos. It was like death was raining from the heavens, only there would be no salvation. As the main body of the asteroid impacted into the center of the city, it sent out a shock wave greater than that of several nuclear explosions. Buildings were leveled and people incinerated. During those few moments of impact thousands of lives were lost. Yet, thousands of new lives began in the form of single cell creatures. It took a few days before the radiation from the rain of death to reach safe levels but when it did teams moved in to try and help the survivors. But they mostly found small creatures and a grey sludge. Even as some of the men and woman searched for survivors, more evil things were starting to lurk around in the shadows.

In an official statement made by the Dictating General Ben Hoshman, who was relocated underground in the farthest part of the nation away from Kongtown, Mr. Hoshman has begun asking for aid from the international community. He also asks that nations send scientists in to observe the impact, and gather things from the asteroid.

“We have some of our own scientists looking, and they have seemed to have found something very interesting. They have come across a goo-like substance seeping from the asteroid, and making puddles. They say it is extremely acidic, and grows rather rapidly. We would like other nations to send their own scientists and set up camp, to begin helping us determine this, and experiment with it.”

OOC: Yes, the return of Acigoo... all n00bish crap will be ignored. Open RP to those who will respect this RP as it should be. If you don't know what Acigoo is, you'll learn later ICly. But ya, please join as long as you're respect this RP (don't go around making up your own crap about this, as there is already set info on what Acigoo is. ViZion is extremely suspicious of this so-called "goo" you speak of. ViZion will be sending in some of its top scientists, including those who are experts of Acigoo. We urge you to take extremely caution, as we are worried this could be more then some "cosmic goo" off of an old asteroid.

As dictated by the Jarridian Foreign Policy, we must move to contain this at once. This is not only a threat to your nation, but also a threat to the peace and security of the entire world. At this time, Jarridia is in no place to make a military move, but the WWA stands firm on its position against Acigoo, and asks for Kongola's full assistance in ridding the world, yet again, of this treacherous element.

Please, we ask of you not to use this for your own evil whims, and to not disable us from containing this horrific and most foul and deadly weapon. You must allow us along with other Anti-Acigoo nations to extract, and destroy it at once. Thank you for your time.

We are very interested in possibly getting our hands on Acigoo. We, at this time, will not divulge our reasons behind this, but we will pay you generously. Do respond to us, because time is precious. Thank you.

Dictator Harkinson sat behind his desk, engaged in conversation with his military advisors.

"We shall win the war against our invaders, if we can get our hands on this Acigoo. I feel that this 'Kongola' will give us what we want, if we offer them a generous sum of money."

"But how will we get it in sir?" asks Keith Derfin

"Simple, we'll have it sent through Smithsilian. They owe us one. And none of our enemies can break that sovereign soil" responde Josh with a smile.

Upon hearing this Phalanix is dispatching the experts on acigoo since this goo resembles it. At this time we sujest you keep your men back and if this is acigoo then we sujest evacuating up to 25 miles from the city.

Already near Kongtown a small group of troops dressed in civillian clothing moved towards the impact site. In there coats and back packs they carried there equipment though it was very small. As they began to slip by the simple security they reached an abandoned bulding and began to change into there armor that was stored in the vials of nano-bots. Even though the armor was weak by most standards this would have to do.

We ask all nations to stay calm. We do not know if this is Acigoo or not yet. There is a chance, but we do not know for sure. We ask that nations with previous background with Acigoo help us in determining if this truly is Acigoo, or not.

Kongola, Acigoo is a very acidic goo substance from space. It hit Earth a long time ago, many, many years ago. It grew quickly, and created creatures that, within a month, were creatures such as dragon-like reptiles and cavemen-like animals, except far larger and stronger then the human cavemen.

It is extremely dangerous. We will be helping you evacuate your people from your nation.

Within minutes of the reply from the Kongola goverment, six Izistani Z-12 military transport plaens were lifting off from Tyhoon Bay AFB. On these six were some of the mst advanced field scienctific equipment developed by Izistan.

Plane One: Sixty members of the science team, and sixty-five members of the Izistani Special Forces. And weapons for the ISF's.

Plane Two: Equipment for the science team.

Plane Three: Inflatable Quonset hut type buildings.
-One facility for sleeping quarters.
- One command and control center with a medical section.
-One garage.

Plane Four: Two TK9 Kestral transport helicopters.

Plane Five: The mobile lab( a vehicle the size and appearance of a armored Greyhound bus. It is equipped with advanced NBC systems and scienctific equipment.

Plane Six: Medical and Personal equipment.

May we set up our base some 16 kilometers(ten miles) from the effected area?

OOC: The Z-12 is basiclly a improved Izistani produced veriosn of the Il-76 Candid. And my motives are purely science based(and I want to get a few more RP's under my belt).

The plane carrying ViZionarians scientists and their supplies was entering Kongolian airspace. "My God, look at that!" said Buck Wagner, the newest (and youngest) of this scientist crew. "What?" asked Marcus Triaz, one of the lead scientists. "Over there, see that?" Buck said, pointing to the horizon. There was a growing red, almost flaming-like effect where the capital city was. "Damn. God help us all if this is Acigoo. It was a lot larger than the comet that brought it here before. If that is Acigoo... it's going to be a lot worse." said Bill Gaines, an Acigoo expert, as he gazed through the window at that sight.

Official Ministry Statement

The Grenvali government knows little to nothing about Acigoo. However, ten scientists have voluntarially decided to go to Kongola. These brave men and women will aid in the research of this dread substance. However, at this time, Grenval has shut its borders to all citizens of Kongola. All Grenvali citizens returning from abroad are being restricted to enter the country. The citizens are throughly inspected and analyzed, and only afterwards, are allowed to enter the country. The citizens are placed in the Rufushian North Hotel. The hotel has been bought out by the Grenvali government. In short, the scientists will be arriving within the week. May God have mercy on us all.

OOC: I'll jsuts skip a few NS hours ahead.

The Z-12's set down at the nearest airfield to their objective. While the equipment was being unloaded some of the team members began to negotiate with a goverment offcial for use of some cargo trucks. After asking nicely they managed to procure the vehicles. The Kestrals took off and headed off to scout the base site.

A hour later.

The trucks had arrived and the equipment was being offloaded. The quonsets were inflating nicely and the science team ran to and fro. The Special Forces began to set up a perimeter. The Mobile Lab was checked out and found to be in excellent condition. A satellite link was set up with both the Izistani Goverment and the Kongolain Goverment.

A Kestral carrying a small group of team members took off and headed out to examine the city and the strange substance infesting it.

In Phalanix a C-26 space transport was taking off with the group of ten scientists, 35 troops (varying form ASU [5] RS [10] and Elites [20]). But they also carried an extra guest. Phoenix Maxwell was with the group. Being a vetran of the first and second acigoo wars would prove useful. Atleast this time they were prepared.

The scientists looked down out of the windows of the helicopter upon what was once Kongtown. Steel girders poked out of the wreckage of what was once buildings, few stuctures had surrived the impact. As they approached Ground Zero one could make out some sort of grey sludge on the surface. They circled the area and deployed robotic surface probes from the air. They then doubled back to the edge of the goo and prepared to land in a small clear area not 100 meters from the edge of the alien material. The team members who had voluteered to get the first look at the situation stepped forth from the machine in white hazmat suits. They looked like astronaughts on the surface of the moon .

A scientist, using a long pipe like tool with what looked with a scoop on the end managed to get a sample of the material. he prompty placed it (without touching it) into a specimin box with biohazard warnings on the side. This was placed on board the helicopter.

The soldiers peered through their facemasks and fingered their weapons nervously. One, while foolig around with his thermograph, picked up moment. Six M-118 Assault Rifles snapped up, the Special Forces formed into a circle around the scienctists and began to retreat to the helicopter.

They made it withour incident and they took off for base camp as fast as they could. The Mobile Lab would be sent in next, with a large security force too.

As they continued on, they passed by an old concrete building, which still was partially still standing. "Look, let's set up camp there. It looks like that'll be about the best we'll find." said Joseph Callinbrand. "We best set up camp there, then scout out our work area."

Nearing the point of impact, the scientists were required to get out of their vehicles. They had to put gas masks on, along with protective suites, as they knew this was extremely dangerous. But, they knew they had to do this.

They cautiously walked, staying together. As they neared the impact area, they could see a goo, slowly seeming to spread. It was growing!

Involved Nations:

The asteroid that has recently struck Kongola has not been thoroughly examined by Hammerian scientists to deem it Acigoo material. However, due to the commonality of these meteor strikes, both now and in the past, we must deem Kongola as a Class-One Biohazard site. The spread of Acigoo cannot be stopped, and so to prevent this spread, Kongola must be swept from the Earth.

One lesson learned from Egypstan is that Acigoo does indeed infest lifeforms, creating superbeings that only aid in the spread of this destructive plasmatic anti-matter-like substance. 480,000 Hammerian scientists and military personnel have been dispatched, and will arrive shortly. As long as these personnel are inside Kongola's borders, Kongola is no longer a country, but a Hammerian research site. Kongola will be under the control of Foe Hammer during this time.

The Acigoo will loaded into specialized, and classified, containers with an outter shell of tungsten steel. Inside, the Acigoo material will be contained in a magnetic field to prevent absorbtion of the metal container.

We regret to inform the Kongolan citizens that even after the Acigoo has been cleaned up, contained and destroyed, the Kongolan landscape is still a Class-one Biohazard. The only approved form of decontamination is destructive, and will result in the entirety of Kongola being bombarded by Hammerian fleets.

This is for the safety of the Hammerians, the safety of you, and the safety of the world.

We gladly invite the Kongolan citizens to emmigrate to the Hammerian Earth Territories after annihilation of Kongola.

::END::

Four seconds after transmission termination, four Nordlund Defense Initiative Fleets of the Hammerian armada decelerate from hyperfold space.

A single phrase is transmitted to all involved parties. "For your safety."

It was time for them to start collecting samples so they could start running tests. As they walked down, they noticed that the goo has expanded nearly 20 feet from where it had been when they were heading up the little hill. They had to work fast. "You're unusually respectful. Time to contact them. Maybe our experiences will help," Karteri said.

With that, Karteri picked up a phone to call the Kongola authorities. Two hours later he was able to get through, having had to convince six people he really was a military expert from DLE instead of just a tourist on vacation, despite both being true. Then, having finally gotten in contact with someone in charge, he decided to make his offer.

"I understand you have something called "acigoo" on your hands. Perhaps my expertise with something that may be related will help. In any case, we can also help take up any slack in other areas if my knowledge proves useless. As it is, we cannot leave your nation until this is done anyway. My own views this as a quarantine situation and breaking quarantine is punishable by death, usually through explosives. If you are agreeable to us helping, send a transport to pick up myself and my friend," Karteri said.

"You think it may be related to a certain pest?" Sabes asked.

"Maybe. It almost sounds like something we have a problem with," Karteri said.

Janathoras

[In the capital city of Janathoras, in the Sovereign's office]

"And you have no idea what this 'acigoo' is, do you?" asked Sovereign Hanno, frowning at his intelligence officer, who was cowering before the steely eyes.

"No, sire," the intelligence officer mumbled apologetically. "We have captured broadcasts warning everyone off of going anywhere near the stuff, as well as reporting that it is extremely acidic, eating through everything."

"Everything?" The Sovereign lifted a suspicious eyebrow.

"Y-yes, sire, that is what the broadcasts said."

"Then why hasn't it carved its way into the depths of Earth already?"

"I-I do not know, sire," the intelligence officer mumbled, fearing for his life now. The Sovereign wasn't known for being benign.

"Well, isn't it your job to find out?" Sovereign Hanno asked in a dangerously soft voice. Before the other could reply, he waved his hand dismissively. "Go. A jet will be reserved aside for you as transport. You will fly to Kongola and find out what you can."

Shivering with fear, the intelligence officer fled the Sovereign's office.

OOC: (Never before heard of Acigoo, but it sounds interesting. *g*)

[OOC]: I should probably just point this out in this thread as well, since I posted it in the Acigoo Alert Thread also.

5 High-Altitude Bombers are going to drop a mixture of extremely low-yield 'dirty' bombs (REALLY low-yield) and napalm filled cluster bombs into the heart of the Kongola's capital city. This will basically help simulate a nuclear blast, but without the gigantic blast radius.

Basically, my nation doesn't exactly believe all this fuss about Acigoo being aided by nuclear attacks, so we're gonna just turn up the heat around the asteroid.

The blast will be centered on the asteroid itself, and wont do much more than set the asteroid and about half a mile around it on fire, as well as drown it in a wash of radiation.

Oh, and the reason for all this fuss? Simple, I thought we might as well get the 'Acigoo' into high gear.

Why do you feel the need to destroy the capitol city? I don't care if you are sending in low-yield, napalm, or fortune cookies...but why? Does he have people there? Excuse me for not following page-by-page.

OOC: I'm not removing any of the Acigoo. It is being analyzed on site.

The scientists were rushing around the labratory room, each trying to get a glimpse of the material currently under the microscope.
"Higgans, could grab that reference CD please?"

"I've never seen anything like this before..."

This was the sence that one would encounter upon entering the room. Adding fuel to the fire was the fact that the Mobile Lab had observed what appeared to be lifeforms in the ruins of Kongtown, but the ML had picked up the lifeforms on a remote camera and it was not till it had returned to the base that these "things" had been detected.

Other nations were now active in the area and the security troops were now very cautious.

OOC2: Can Acigoo infest other lifeforms?

OOC: Actually, the Acigoo IS getting into the ground.. if given the chance, it would make the entire planet Acigoo... for now, it's working on creating a lake of Acigoo from the city...
the only way Acigoo can infest other life is by injecting in into their blood stream... any other form of contact, and it'll eat the thing right up...
Acigoo is dangerous stuff... when it first came, it seemed to just be acidic goo, but shortly after, noticed single-celled creatures being formed. Within a week from then, small, "nice" creatures popped up. Within 2-3 weeks from then, they were slaughtering humans, as they had evolved into large flesh-eatting thing... (yes, similar, but not exactly like Evolution, the movie...)

We are projecting that the entire city of Kongola and some suburbs will be entirely gone, replaced by a rapidly growing Acigoo lake. It has also begun to terraform the landscape with trees and bushes not seeing on Earth until now.

It's begun - Acigoo life has arrived.

"Not again....not again...ohhh gods not again...." Muttered Chairman Charles Foster Yang as he heard the news. The TV cameras lit up the scene of his office has he turned to address the nation, and other free nations of the world.

----Sattelite Broadcast---

"The Dominion of Talkos, knowing the full dangers of the acigoo threat as few others do, has shifted our military to high alert. We now call all nations to give their all, and help us as we will begin to enforce a blockade of the infested nation. We propose that with sufficient force, nothing will be allowed to leave once it has entered until we are sure that the Acigoo threat is contained or destroyed. Again.

We call upon all nations to join with us in preventing ANOTHER Acigoo disaster, once we have sufficient support we will begin our blockade, every day that goes by is another day that a sample of the material could be smuggled out, or escape from containment."

--------
OOC: I'm off now, but I'll be back with more details later.
ViZion will aid you in this blockade.

Any ships that are not cleared before will be turned around. If you do not turn around, we will be forced to destroy your ship(s).

With the latest series of messages from ViZion it was decided to move the base further away from the Acigoo threat. The long convoy of trucks began to move acroos the landscape towards the zone where ViZion and a few others had established their areas of operations.

The Kestrals were over the city filming the rapidly changing landscape. Already a small lake could be seen in the crater and shadowly forms under the surface appeared to be moving.

The Izistani Goverment decided to send in more of the Special Forces, six hundred highly trained and well armed Special Forces to be exact. Along with ten more Kestrals, six Nightingale attack helicopters and a small observation semi-rigid airship. Hopefully we can contain this hazard...

In any case, having ten extra soldiers with the expertise to run a small army effectively and a willingness to fight to the death should be helpful," Karteri said.

On Rath the new scrying crystals hummed a low, bellike tone. Most people considered in soothing, until they started working around them. There had been two breakdowns and six deaths resulting from the sound, now earplugs were required.
Charnel walked his current puppet down the catwalk above the scrying stations, relishing the sensation of having nerves, feeling preassure from his feet traveling up his legs. He had been about four thosand when he had learned to walk...yes, about four thosand. After the first millenia things just started running together. Some things were clear though. For instance he remembered absorbing other Keepers very well.
Too bad there were so few left.
"Milord! Milord Charnel, number 3 reports something...odd. Its a sort of lake of...well, goo, milord. It looks like its moving by itself. We think you should see." A sweating mage scurried behind Charnel. Most mages smoked, and this generaly accounted for their chronicaly poor health, although they tended to live for quite some time.
Very well, show me.
Vocal chords were one aspect of bodies that Charnel had never bothered to master, although it did disturb his minions when voices adressed them from nowhere. Some claimed to have gotten orders from voices that were not Charnel, generaly along the lines of 'Dance naked on top of a flagpole', these days Charnel made an effort to at least move his mouth when he 'spoke' to his people.
Interesting. Where is it?
"We think its Earth, milord. The stuff seems to create static, even on the CB's, its kinda wierd. It may just be the distance, but these new crystals should be able to cover half the galaxy easy" The mage tapped the ball.
"Dispatch a mission, and contact the govornment of wherever that is, I want a team in there to observe."

---

Transmission to Kongola
The United Kingdoms of Harmonia ask permission to dispatch a thaumaturgical team to study and observe this event. Permission to planeshift into your nation and land would be apperciated.
Thank you.

---

In the hangers of Rath three of the newest of the Harmonian ships floated above the stone floor. These were much sleeker than the former sailing ships, these were REAL skyships, streamlined, quick and capable of easy flight in an atmosphere. They disdained normal cannons for a full assortment of Thaum weapons, capable of melting nearly anything.
On board were a number of Thaumaturgists, mages, and soldiers.
The ships rumbled as they powered their crystal energy cores, then moved at a stately pace through the hanger doors, out into the starless night of Rath. Once free of the atmosphere they began to accelerate, gaining speed until the mages activated the planeshift.
With a flash they vanished from the sky, reapering above Earth...

Minister Teótepulan read over the reports and the alert of the precence of Acigoo. This was clearly a major distaster, but also a chance to explore something new. Of course, taking any of the Acigoo would be national suicide, and is by far too dangerous. The AIA agents would have to get all the information from the scene.

Minister Teótepulan looked at the 6 agents assymbled before him. They were a mixed bunch, but all more then qualified individuals. He said to them:

"We are dealing with a threat of great extent. You must take greatest precaution and must not let any of it get to you. Also, you can not take any for more AIA research, that's an order. Your goal is to simply study it's structure and it's properties, that's it."

They all agreed, and they were off to the airplanes. Within 2 hours, they would be underway to Kongola.

Buck Wagner, the least experienced of the scientists of ViZion, walked around the rubble, looking around, and observing. So many new plants, new life here now... he thought, referring to the terraforming that was happening.

He walked up to one of the trees. He began to touch it, then move his hand across the bark, to feel the surface. "Hmm, strange... it seems to prick you..." he said, thinking out loud. He then looked up, only to see a large coconut-like object fall out of the tree.

The three sleek Harmonian ships glided down from the sky, extending their landing spines and crunching down on top of a small stand of trees.
Ramps and ladders were hurled over the sides and figures climbed/slid down, most were short and green with quite large ears and noses.
Once they were off the ships took off again, circling around the lake of goo.

The figures on the ground quickly began to assemble a small tent-city, pavillions for the mages sprung up quite quickly, while Goblins attempted to assemble their puptents, most settled for using the canvas as a blanket, or eating it.
A group had gathered a distance from the acigoo, they were hurling stones at it and watching them slowly dissolve inside the goop. One of them sidled closer and poked it with his scimatar...
A muffled scream resounded through the camp, cut off quickly. The other Goblins eyes grew wider than their normal three inches as they stared at the remains, a pair of boots which were even now being engulfed in the strange sludge.
They ran away.

A single Alchemist walks to the quarantine zone and starts setting up his equipment - a cauldren, a Bunsen burner, various types of incense, a bundle of various herbs, a few star charts, a telescope, a stack of wierd-looking books, and a intricately decorated dagger. The man traces a circle into the ground, covering it in various glyphs and muttering in Latin. After about half an hour, he sits inside of the circle and says a syllable in some tongue most people couldn't hope to recognize. Then he proceeds to take out the various herbs and ingredients, turn on the Bunsen burner, and get to work. He could only help the Circle of Warding would hold against whatever this... thing was.

"Hello? Can anybody hear us? Were afraid Crystal Ball transmitters dont work well with other devices.
Anyway, the nation of ViZion has offered to host the meeting in their camp. Harmonia has dispatched its delegates and we hope that others will follow."

---

Charnel himself elected to visit the location, he had to make a new puppet though, they didnt hold up to well in unshielded planeshifts.
So, the Keeper, two senior mages, two Thaumaturgists, and two Goblin guards arrived at the ViZion camp (OOC: Assuming its a camp of some kind, not an established base or anything?) and hailed the guards.

We represent the United Kingdoms of Harmonia Mortus. We are here to meet with the leadership of your camp, and the others around here. Now, if you would be so kind as to let us in? Charnels ghostly voice radiated out around him, drawing some attention.

OOC:
Charnels 'natural' form is basicaly a large cloud of magical energy, he can use his rather powerful magical ability to form a body when it suites him (haha). While his body is vulnerable a Keeper is fairly hard to kill. If he dies inside a body is painful and drains his magic a bit, but he will survive.

"Ahh, yes, please come in. The tent over there," he said, pointing to a large tent about 40 ft ahead and to the right a little, "is where you will find our scientists. They know much about Acigoo, and they say this whole city will be gone by tomorrow."

A representative from The Royal Art makes its way to the designated meeting place. Yes, it - it almost didn't look human. One would have to call it a hermaphrodite for lack of better terms, but it didn't quite fit. First off, it was stunningly beautiful, and the fact that it had both male and female features didn't offset this. Second, it seemed as if it was... well, perfect. A perfect fusing of male and female. It was obvious that it hadn't been born, but created... possibly from two people. It regards the scientists present quietly.

"Hello. We at the ViZionarian camp have found some disturbing news. Acigoo has begun to breed its single-cell life forms. We now know that Acigoo has fully begun to take on its own life. It has begun to terraform the landscape surrounding the Acigoo, and its breeding life now. We need to prepare for a long battle soon with these new life forms. We ask that your nation bring in military, along with help enforce a blockade of any illegal enterances into this nation.

Thank you,

Karteri and Sarbes walked into the camp, pausing for a moment at the sight of the Harmonians. They both reach for their belts, forgetting for a moment they were unarmed. Growling, they look at the Harmonians with suspicion.

"What are representatives from Merlyns doing here?" Karteri asked, his voice full of obvious hate.

But Sarbes was not so sure. For one thing, these people looked different from those that frequented Merlyns. For one thing, they weren't carrying any weapons she recognized. Then she remembered the ship that disappeared sometime back while scouting and began to wonder something.

"Have you seen one of our ships? We lost a scout ship sometime back in a weird energy surge and haven't seen it since," Sarbes said.

Karteri paused for a moment, shocked at her question. Then he saw it too: These people were not from Merlyns. But they were differently from a culture with some of the same influences.

"Uh, excuse our reactions. One of our enemies happens to have people that look like you. Natural conclusion," Kateri said.

The ANL fleet of AZ-Tu 95c made its way closer to Kongola. Clearly, the scientists began buzzing about the task that awaits them. Several of the best minds from the Union in chemistry and biology were more then eager to see this "Acigoo" stuff. Screw synthisizing plutonium, that was child's play compared to this. Even using proton acceleraters to create the virtually man made Ununoctium was nothing compared to this. These minds were now working on undiscovered things from the heavens.

One man did not share the enthusiasim of the scientists. One of the security gaurds felt this could be too dangerous. We wasn't just a security gaurd, but rather a battle tested military officer. This was Xihuitl first assignment since his covert mission in Mississippi (this is secret), and he has read of and heard of Acigoo. It was clearly not something you would want near you. Xihuitl waited in quiet anxiety about this new mission.

The pilots of the AZ-Tu 95c's sent this message to Kongolan forces:

"This is Convoy 25, Sabre Wolf Alpha 2, we are carring relief aid from the ANL, may we have permission to land."

Future tech nation of Georgian Rovenia here.

With the permission of our Parent States, we have been allowed to dispatch the following forces:

1st Colonial Interceptor Fighter Squadron (LX-470 Mace, three laser cannons, two hardpoints)

http://tachyondatabase.8k.com/ships/mace2.jpg

These space fighters can be used in an atmosphere, though they lose VTOL capability. We have given them heavy lasers (500 blasts per minute), light, medium, and heavy rocket pods, and plasma spraying equipment, works just like napalm. Each one is capable of Mach 1.57 in an atmosphere.

1st Colonial Marines: 15,000 men armed with laser weaponry. They will provide security for the base. They also have light armor in case of heavy enemy presence.

4th Royal Transport Wing: Ready whenever, even in case of an evac. They have Titan shuttles capable of Mach .93 in the atmosphere and gunship models of the aforementioned transports. When all else fails, call in a group of Spookies.

'Do NOT lose the 4th Transport" was made very clear to me, as I was lectured by my King. He was graceful enough to lend his own forces for us.

HMGRS Transport Carrier Expedition with six escorts- two anti-fighter cruisers, two planetary bombardment cruisers, and two stealth destroyers, are all waiting in space in the event of the loss of the entire continent.

We will setting up camp approximately 225 miles from the incident site and will be performing plasma sprays and gunship raids, as well as recon, for the time being. Don't worry about range, the aircraft have almost infinite range with hydrogen fuel ion technology.

We await approval from Kongola.

When ViZion's scientists try a drop of the liquid on a sample of the Acigoo, a strange thing happens. The Acigoo suddenly starts moving extremely fast and jerkily, as if spasming... fighting the liquid. Then, it goes inert, and starts to decompose rapidly. So, the liquid works. "Troops of the First Marine. You are up against an unknown enemy. Take a look at the men next to you. They will return. So will you. While the Acigoo may be strong, it is slow, and if necessary, we can evacuate or relocate the base far quicker than it will reach us. We expect no casualties. We expect perfection.

"Be courteous to your allies. Put aside, temporarily, all prejudices against nations of the incorrect political attunement. We must destroy this enemy or it will destroy us.

Today our goals are to set up a base. This base will be mobile and temporary- I want it to be able to be deconstructed in less than two hours, maximum, and loaded up for transport. Marines will secure the perimeter in their C/B/N suits. The area around the base will be sprayed with chemicals to kill off any existing organisms and sterilize the area.

I have confidence in you. Again, if all else fails, we will evacuate to the safety of space and let our two bombardment cruisers open fire. Loyalty to the Parent States, always!"

And with the speech, the operation began. Shuttles and fighters poured out of the Expedition and hit the wall of oxygen- the atmosphere.

The 32nd Engineers is currently at the ditch site and will stage a massive demolition explosion, with the help of some bombardment cruiser fire. Do not be alarmed.

ETA to blast: 2 hours.
If the Acigoo makes its way there before your explosions happen, we ask that you do not have them detonate, as that will only help spread Acigoo.

OOC: which, for the RP, could make things interesting... ;)

The 32nd Engineers is setting up triangulating beacons for the bombardment blasts, as well as heavy explosives. They have recieved your warning and...I've just been informed that they are ready and have left the area. The initial explosives will go off in five minutes and create a preliminary crater. The orbital blasts will create a massive crater and we'll see what happens from there.

The Acigoo is about 50 minutes away- our calculations were incorrect and we did not have that much time.

With any luck, this will slow down its expansion.

Thus, they began packing to move. Some of the scientists were at the observation area, and were notified. They obvservation camp had been moved four times already, and they were going to have to move again.

The planes landed quickly at the airport. As the crews got off, it was quiet, dead quiet. Xihuitl stepped out of the plane and looked up at the crimson red sky. It was an errie sight. He continued down the stairway and looked around. Clearly, he was uneasy. Although he wasn't a intellegence officer for the AIA, he has done many covert misisons for the AIA. He was part of the JWI, Jaguar Warrior Infantrymen, the ANL elite Army group. They are generally considered the best of the best in the ANL - if they can't do it, no one could. However, despite all the tasks he had as a JWI, this would seem the most dangerous. As he begun to get lost in thought, an agent walked up behind him and said to him,

"Commander Xihuitl, you're going to have to stick with us. Your materials are off the plane."

With that, he converged with the agents/scientists and awaited for instructions.

We sent:
150 scientists
-144 are university scientists
-6 are AIA operatives (at this point, you don't know that)

150 gaurds:

An old Land Rover could he heard in the distance from the crash site, slowly getting louder.

Inside the Land Rover, four scientists from ViZion and two doctors were heading to the crash site in hopes of finding survivors.

They knew what they had to do. If there were survivors, they had to radio in how many, and treat those people on the scene while other vehicles made their way to pick the people up.

After about eight minutes, the Land Rover spotted the crash, and saw people standing up and laying down. As they pulled up,
"Are you alright?" yelled out one of the doctors, Dr. Wilson, as he opened his door while the vehicle was still slowing down. He jumped out and ran to the nearest person.

OOC: We have found no way to kill it, and there are very limited ways to slow it or stop it. There is only 1 way that we know of that would help contain large amounts of Acigoo, but the formula was long lost. We've been tryin to dig it up, but it'll be a while...
It expands by reproducing its self... thus, it will just keep expanding and expanding, growing...

Alright, what else do you see?
The 'Acigoo' haven't appeared to leve the lake alot, but are alowly spreading out from it.
Shit, they're moving. Confirm your last, alpha 1.

"Perhaps we can be of some help," Karteri said to some scientists.

"Sir, you should see this. I'm looking at the lake now," Sarbes said.

Karteri walked over to her, curious. Looking at the lake, visible now from their position, he stopped and turned a clean-snow shade of pale, which was quite an accomplishment for a man with a tan as deep as his. Sarbes didn't exactly look that healthy at what she saw either.

"It's the Beta Strain," Karteri said.

"Yes. This has had enough time to get deep into the land. If it were the Alpha Strain, we could just give them the formula for the antidote. But this... My god, what have these people gotten themselves into?" Sarbes asked.

"I doubt it was them. I doubt it was anyone. At least we know strong gravity fields kill it," Karteri said.

"Yes, but how do you propose to get that lake to a black hole? It's a little big and we don't exactly have any ships handy," Sarbes said.

"Assuming we can even transport it at all. The one Sarkaraset file I saw on it stated the best way to deal with this stuff was to destroy the entire planet, and they had millenia of advancements over anyone we have encountered," Karteri said.

"Great. So we have to find a solution that two of the most advanced empires in history couldn't come up with," Sarbes said.

The ANL camp was set up. Already, the scientist were prepairing teams to go into the city and investigate. This was their moment, and to them, it could not come too soon.

Although nervious, Xihuitl prepaired himself for the situation. In his duffle bag, he pulled out some equpiment - a GPS device, his AK-103 and a armor vest. He took off his shirt and put on the armor vest and put on extra ammo clippings. Now, he was ready to protect the scientists.

As they clammored about, the scientists began looking at the situation more trivially. They began making bets on who would get the first sample and so on. Clearly, their excitment was getting the best of them. As the scientists continued their betting, Xihuitl went over to an AIA agent who was remaining very quiet.

Xihuitl said "We have no idea what we are getting ourselves into. I suggest we get more information before proceding."

The agent asked him "How do you propose that?"

"Simple, ask one of the other teams what the situation is."

The agent then agreed and went over to the communication room of one of the planes. He sent out this message:

All parties here to assist with the de-contamination and containment efforts:
This is the ANL camp, we request information to catch us up to speed on this situation. Please respond."

OOC:

I saw the Evolution movie, pretty awesome stuff. I was quite surprised at the ending when guys used plain old shampoo to kill the mutant mega creature.

I was wondering if I could join in this RP? If so, I need to let you guys know about a special Tech I have been using and developing.

Sliding Tech, from the "Sliders" TV Show in the mid 90's. Basically, it grants you access to parallel Earths / alternate universes (that follow our universe's standards, no 5th, 10th, or 100th dimension crap).

My nation researches Sliding Technology, based off the TV series. It first acquired the tech as Quinn, Remebrandt, Wade, and Maggie slid into the world my nation is in. They "slid" into a station that my Presidential Train was passing through, and then they were captured, as the Secret Service thought they were terrorists.

Sharina spent several years studying and refining the Sliding Device taken from these 4 Sliders. President Rand Veristek founded the SPEA, or "Sharina Parallel Earth Agency" which would operate just like Stargate Command in the SG-1 TV series but uses Sliding Portals to explore thousands of parallel Earth's instead of the Stargate device in Stargate TV series.

Sharina has developed two major parallel Earth colonies. Sharina holdings in Earth V is its 1st major parallel Earth colony, while Whittier's Earth IV is Sharina's second parallel Earth colony. Earth V is designated Sharina Alpha, while Earth IV is termed Sharina Beta. The Earth the actual Sharina is located on is called Sharina Prime.

I wanted to explore the Sliding stuff as a perfect solution to all these different Earth's, and all these different nations.

However, there are three drawbacks to the Sliding Tech I currently have.

1. Can only Slide between the exact same position in both Earth's. For example, if you open an portal in Los Angeles in RL Earth, you can only travel to Los Angeles at the other end of the portal in Earth X (whatever number or designation). You can't Slide from Los Angeles in RL Earth to say, Paris on another Earth.

2. Only a limited amount of material or personnel can be transferred through Sliding Portals per Slide. The maximum is approximately 30 tons, give or take several hundred pounds. This means I cannot Slide heavy equipment such as tanks, howitzers, or naval vessels. However, it is possible to send parts of these equipment 10 or 20 tons at a time, then assemble them on the other side of the poral (using multiple Slides to do so).

3. The Sliding Portals require vast amounts of power to operate, and because of this, the fusion generators need 24 hours to recharge the Sliding Portal. Emergency Sliding Portals (for warfare or evacuation issues) only require 12 hours to recharge, but takes up a lot more space due to double fusion generators.

So basically, I can send through material and troops from my three Sharina Earths - Sharina Prime, Alpha, and Beta - to any parallel Earth, but in limited numbers and slowly (One Sliding Portal can only "Slide" once a day). I could evacuate people threatened by the Acigoo, and Slide them to a new Earth where they can begin a new life, free of the Acigoo.

If you guys aren't familiar with parallel Earths or alternate realities / universes, I would be more than happy to describe it in more detail.

What do you guys think?

"Harmonia Mortus suggests a possibly way to slow the Acigoo down. Since it seems that this...stuff grows by absorbing materials, especialy organic items, why dont we burn the area around its perimeter? It wont stop it, but it will buy us some time. If we act as a group this should be somewhat easy. Perhaps if we burn everything for a mile or so out, then when it reaches that point we burn everything again. There is no real loss since everything we burn will be doomed anyway, except (hopefully) the last mile-wide area."

IC: Over the skies of Kongola, 5 sleek, sky blue aircraft could be seen streaking through the clouds, each carrying a deadly payload of flame and radiation, encased in it's own little capsule, ready to be dropped to the acidic, organic, and very pissy, heart of the problem.

*Kzzzzt*Harmonian vessels, cease your fire. We are here to destroy that substance. We are carrying radiation inducing bombs, as well as napalm. We intend to cause the equivalent of a minature nuclear blast. We are also armed with standard Air-to-Surface missiles. If you do not cease fire, we WILL fire these missiles at any other ground targets, as well as drop our bombs on them. We also have a communications link to the Orbital Construct Pioneer Two. If you do not cease fire, then Pioneer Two and it's defence fleet WILL neutralize your ships weaponry. This is your only warning. Bomber 1 out*Kzzzzt*

Our E2-C hawkeyes have been surveying the area for hours, and we know where to not hit within a number of feet, whereas you are new to the area and are dropping bombs, with MUCH less accuracy. Please, let ME do this, I have been preparing to do it for hours. If you do not respond soon (next time I get on this thread @ 4:00 pm central america time), I will be forced to decimate your bombers in order to save this region and to stop the furthuring of the acigoo. Please don't make me do this!" He hangs up the reciever "... Shit."
"Your orders, sir?"
"All able ships, lock on to the bombers with SM-2 SAM's, and scramble 10 F-14's to intercept the bombers and direct them away from the area immedietly."
"Yessir"
"AEGIS Systems aboard all Ticonderoga's active and tracking the bombers, sir. We're ready to shoot them down"
"Good. Wait for my orders."
"Aye aye, sir."
10 F-14 Tomcats screech off the runway of NIMITZ aircraft carrier 1 and make full burn toward the bombers.
"This is Bravo 1 Leader to all bravo, over. We will surround the bombers and take locks. They will then be ordered to turn back immedietly. They will be given 90 seconds to reply, and if they do not, they will be shot down. Let me handle negotiatons."
The F-14's soon arrive and make a tight-knit sphere around the bombers.
"This is Bravo Leader 1 Of The Holy Navy. You are ordered to disengage your targets and reverse course. You have 90 seconds to reply, or we will be forced to light you up. Do you understand what I am ordering you to do?"

Suddenly, choosing to make an appearance, 10 DLE ships dropped into the atmosphere, speeding up to Mach 4. They headed straight for the Rinceweed bombers, disrupter cannons charged. These ships had orders to open fire if bombs were dropped, and they were not bothering to hide what they were doing.

~Communication to Rinceweed bombers~
I suggest you back off from your bombing run for awhile. You do not know what you are dealing with. Bombing the acigoo will be considered a great act of stupidty and incompetence by your nation. You might want to listen to what those whyo know what they are doing say before you indiscriminately try to help it out.
If you refuse to consider this, no ships of any nation involved in this are responsible for any lives or equipment you happen to lose.

"Dammit", said the pilot of the lead bomber,"We're getting signals from everywhere! If we continue, we're gonna get blown apart."

"Right, i'm sending the signal to Pioneer Two." said the Co-Pilot.

*Kzzzt*Pioneer Two, Pioneer Two, this is Bomber One, we're about to come under extremely heavy fire. We're under fire from Orbital Ordinance, we're picking up massive quantities of Orbital dropships, fighters, ground based weapons, the works, and it's all directed at us. We're requesting any and all backup you can give us. Bomber one out*Kzzzt*

*Kzzzt*Bomber one, this is Pioneer Two, we roger your request. We're going to send in a flight of interceptors. We'll do what we can to keep you safe, but no matter what, do NOT break off the attack. Pioneer Two out.

True to their words a flight of 40 Sky Blue, High-Speed Interceptors were launched from the massive Orbital Space Station, whilst at the same time the Orbital itself slowly moved itself my conventional engines towards the Harmonian ships, getting as close as it could until the Subvecto drive could power up.

[OOC]: Ok, the Interceptors are basically just 'Generic' Interceptors. In other words, they can be classed as simply cutting-edge (FT, remember?), 1 pilot, and armed with a machine gun (Nose mounted) and 4 Any-Range Air-to-Air missiles. (By any range, I aint talking 'OMFG, MY MISSILEZ GO 280153908510 MILES AND BLOW YOU APART!', I mean that they work equally well at Short, Medium, and Long ranges.

Oh, and although my Orbital isn't capable of providing Orbital Bombardment to help cover the Bombers and Interceptors, a LOT of the Capital Ships inside it sure as HELL can!

SIR! They're gonna strike that shit!

*Richardson spun around in his chair, horror streaked across his face.* Tell the fighter escorts to target those bombers, if they get within 50 miles of the stuff, give them to go to test out the new wingtip laser cannons on them. Tell the shield commanders to continue preperations for the new new deployment. And tell anyone within a mile of the stuff to get out in a day or be trapped inside!

*Airspace over the afflicted land....*

*10 of Hyperlight's prototype LRIs (Long Range Interceptors) broke off from the 50 cargo carrier strong airfleet, and came up behind the bombers, in a section of airspace quite highly over-run by forces.*

This is hyperlight escort Rouge 1 to unidentified bombers. Cease your approach immediately, or we will destroy you. Any attempt to get within 50 miles of the city will be considered an act of world war, and we WILL open fire. This is your only warning. Cargo fleet, proceed to your drop points.

ON BOARD THE ORBITAL CONSTRUCT PIONEER ONE

"Sir! Commander Horoshimana Sir! There's a call for you from the surface!" said an aide as he breathlessly ran into the Commander's expansive office.

Behind his solid Mahogany table (Certain rumours said it had been taken from Earth itself at a massive expense, rather than artifically grown on an Orbital), the Commander looked up slowly at the Aide.

"A call? Who from? The Surface? Yunikara wasn't supposed to give the Colony's monthly progress report for another week!"

"Sir, it's not from the Colony Sir! Another country sent the message. They're threatening to shoot down the bombers launched by Pioneer Two."

"The what?"

"Sir, Admiral Ijikama ordereed a bomber strike on the country of Kongola. It wasn't an act of war though Sir, they're attacking.....Acigoo."

"WHAT!? Call off the attack! We HAVE to call off the attack! Any attempts to destroy it with Ordinance just help it grow! Send the order, call those bombers back!"

"Sir, we can't. They turned their radio's off a few minutes ago, countries have been warning the bombers away, and they eventually turned the radio off to get rid of them."

"Shit....so there isn't anything we can do?"

"No Sir, unless you want to shoot down the bombers."

"No....we'll just have to see what happens. Listen, send in an escort of interce-"

"Sir, Interceptors have already been launched from Pioneer Two to help protect the bombers."

"I don't care. We have to keep those men safe. Send in 30 interceptors [OOC: A note, just in case it matters later, that's 3 squadrons (10 fighters to a squadron)] from our defence fleet as well."

"Yes Sir. Anything else?"

"....dammit....we're already commited. I'm assuming Ijikama already started an Orbital Bombardment. I guess we should help him out. I want the Subvecto drives to get us directly over this coun-"

"Sir, 3 enemy ships have already taken up Orbital over the impact point. If we go there, they'll surely fire on us."

"I don't care. Get us there. Get all the ships prepped, all defences manned. We are going to blast that Acigoo with everything we have. Hopefully, enough Ordinance might just be too much for it."

"Yes Sir", said the Aide, hurrying towards the door again.

"But first...about that call. Pipe it through here."

"Yes Sir" said the Aide again, before finally running through the door to relay the orders.

The Commander picked up his phone to hear the voice of Thompson's leader.

"This is Commander Kanen Horoshimana of the Orbital Constructs of Rinceweed. What is it you want?"

[OOC]: A note, to the best of my knowledge, enough Ordinance WONT stop it, just make it grow even more. This is gonna be interesting....

Xihuitl looked on at the radar screen as the impending disaster unfolded. Sweat began to form on his dark brow. This can not be good, possibly the death of all of them.

He turned to Urquidez and said "We can't do anything. They aren't responding to communications and we do not have enough fire power to stop them."

Vincent Urquidez looked outside. They were pretty far from the Acigoo, but such a large scale attack might take that protection away.

He said in quiet distress, "Let's just see what happens. Continue your attempts at communicating with them."

Xihuitl continued using the radio, begging to get them to call off the attack.

[OOC]: Bomb drop posted soon.

The Battleship HSV Omaha, in Geostationary orbit, had an unusual calm aboard the bridge, which was soon broken by an alarm.

The Ops officer scrambled to read his screen. "Admiral! We have multiple atmospheric vehicles on route to the capitol city. Payload scanners report multiple dirty bombs."

Admiral Halsey glanced at Earth. "Jesus Christ! Scramble four Hellfire interceptor squadrons. Bring bow cannons and DSW systems online. Engage these aircraft as if they are hostile!"

Halsey opened a secure link to the Pioneer vessels. "Pioneer One and Two, if you open fire on ANY allied forces, your entire fleet will be neutralized by the four Hammerian starfleets currently on station. Do not take this risk. We have more than four times the power of your fleets, and we will not hesitate to use it. Respond, or we will assume that you are intending to engage allied forces."

[OOC]: Foe, read what's below, and start staring in disbelief at the might of an ENTIRELY space-based race.

For the record, my (Currently in use for this RP) fleet currently stands as follows:

Pioneer One

Like all Orbital Constructs, Pioneer One is huge. Not 'Oh, a Kilometre big you say? By jove!', we're talking '....wait, HOW big!?' big.

Pioneer One is, at best estimate, roughly 40 Kilometers big. (A note, when I say 40 KM big, each Orbital is shaped like, well, a Flying Saucer, except without bulges at the middle, so the size is in fact the diameter) The reason? It houses roughly 1 Billion people. This Orbital is the original civilisation Orbital. It was the first to be designed to hold my entire race. (A note, my entire race is FT, and started out in these monstrosities. Basically, the only advantage is that my country is the equivalent of lots of guns floating around in space.)

Pioneer Two follows suit, with both it and it's sister Orbital Pioneer Three both being 30 Km in size.

Each Orbital is the equivalent of a space-borne fortress, bristling with every type of gun we have available. Which, surprisingly, is only really 3 general types.

We have Mass Drivers (Simply, it's a big-ass Turret that shoots an equally big-ass chunk of solid matter. Just imagine a cannon on a galleon, then make it about 40 times bigger, and make it look futuristic with lights 'n' shit.)

Then we have Missles, the love of every force in the world. Missiles for us are NOT anti-capital ship weapons. We use missiles roughly 5 times bigger than that fired by fighter sized craft, but we still only use them for destroying fighters and gunboats.

Last of all, we have my little love-child, VOID-CANNONS! (Prepare for pain). It's my ONLY FT invention really. It's probably been used by others elsewhere (In different guises obviously, but the principle is probably similar to something else), but I still the love thing. Simply, it shoots a nice little ball roughly 5 Metres in Diameter, made of 'Void' energy.

Not really that impressive, eh? Whoop de do, I have a gun that shoot shitty little energy blasts. The reason for using 'em? They eat through anything. To be honest, just imagine me shooting jet-black blobs of Acigoo at really high speeds. Doesn't even lose any speed when it hits something. The only real advantage to these things is that although they can barely cause damage, since the actual area they damage is minute (Imagine a potato borer going into your ship. It hits it, and then you have a neat, tiny line right from one side of your ship to the other.

.....SHIT!. Only just realised how much i've just typed, sorry about that.

Basically, ye've got Pioneer's One and Two, along with their defence fleets bearing down on you.

Each defence fleet consists of the following:

1 Dreadnought (Basically it's the Dreadnought from the game 'Homeworld', except about 5 times bigger, and armed to the teeth with my weaponry)

4 Heavy Bombardment ships. (Just a 4 KM long, 500 Metres wide tube with guns. Think a bunch of guns superglued to an tube that's superglued to an engine and you have a rough idea what it's like.)

2 Hornet Class Carriers. (4 KM long, 500 Metres wide again. Armed with only anti-fighter weaponry (Mass Drivers 'n' whatnot), carry 30 Fighter-Bombers each)

5 Heavy Cruisers (Just Bombardment ships with less guns but more armor. Same size, shape, everything.)

2 Battleship (The armor of a Heavy Cruiser and the guns of a bombardment ship. Still shaped the same, just more economical use of space.)

5 Boarding Craft (200 Metres long, 5 wide. Each holds 300 men .)

1 Electronics Warfare ship. (Only 30 metres in diameter, shaped like a fairly flat semicircle.)

100 Generic Interceptors (The ones being launched to defend the bombers)

10 Generic Bombers (The ones being used to bomb the Acigoo)

And so, the giganto-post is over. My ridiculously gigantic fleet has been posted, and i'm ready for the space battle that may come if you decide to fight 'em.

And a final note, the reason for EVERYTHING being fricking huge is that, quite simply, pretty much my entire race is space based. We don't have any ground based forces except those on our Surface colony, and the minute amount that defend each Orbital's interior. We focus basically ALL military funding on space defenses.

A large blue swirling vortex opened up in a rocky area near an ocean. Several figures and objects emerged, taking on the shape of men and two small jeeps. A large rover emerged after the jeeps, with several antennae and had medium armor plating. A man spoke into his hand, then several seconds later, the vortex collapsed onto itself and disappeared.

The man looked across his assembled command, and began to speak.

"This is Earth #18,317. Our objective is to explore this Earth and ascertain its history, peoples, nations, and the works. You know the drill."

A chorus of "Yes, sir!" erupted from the assembled team.

The team mounted the two jeeps and the high tech rover then began travelling southwards, away from the coast. Two hours later, a woman manning a long distance bionuclars rubbed her eyes and then cleared her throat.

The commander looked towards her, and asked, "What is it?"

"Sir, I have spotted a greenish liquid-like mass several meters to the southeast. It doesn't look like water, but it doesn't look solid either."

"I'd like to take a look, Juliana."

Juliana gave the bionuclars to the commander, and after a couple of minutes, the commander looked at Juliana.

"Direct the Science Rover to analyze this odd material. Perhaps we could discover something useful to bring back home to our boys in the Science Division of the SPEA."

There ya go, I'm officially in. I have little to no idea about the Acigoo, except what was posted in the Acigoo Info Thread, and this is reflected in my nation's curiousity / naviete about it.

Rinceweed, what happened to the bombers, and why isn't the guy that shot at them responding?

Surface of Earth

"JESUS!", shouted the pilot of the lead bombers as a laser beam narrowly missed his bomber, as more lanced from the skies above, striking near the bombers and the fighters surrounding them.

The Co-Pilot turned the radio back on again and started screaming down it to the interceptors.

"FOR FUCK SAKE, WHERE ARE YOU GUYS! WE'RE GETTING SHOT AT OUT HERE!"

Over the radio, through the static, a single voice could be heard.

*Kzzzt*This is Interceptor 1, we have identified your attackers, and are commencing our attack run now. God speed, and remember, 30 more fighters apart from our 4 squadrons are coming to escort you the rest of the way. We've also been told to inform you that the Orbital Bombardment by the enemy should be stopped before you reach the city's outskirts.*Kzzzt*

"Roger that Interceptor One, over and out."

On the bottom of the Bombers, the Napalm and Dirty bombs slid into position on the bomb racks, the open hatchways on the bottom of the bombers showing the landscape below full of life as civilians fled away from the city, and military moved closer to it. But the only thing keeping up with the bombers below was the black shadows they themselves projected on the hectic landscape below. But up ahead, the city could be seen, and boy, the bombers were in for one hell of a shitty welcome....

Onboard Pioneer One

"Listen", said Horoshimana, "We can't order them away now. It's too late. All we can do now is pray to god that with enough ordinance, we can destroy this substance. If it doesn't work, we have two Orbitals' fleets about to commence a massive Orbital Bombardment upon the asteroid. If those bombers are shot down, we will commence anyway. And trust me, the Orbital Bombardment is something you do NOT want to happen. Everything within 5 miles of the asteroid will be reduced to dust, and that hopefully includes the Acigoo. If you have any people within 10 miles, evacuate them."

Horoshimana slammed down the phone, worry plastered across his face. If this Orbital Bombardment didn't destroy the Acigoo either, the sheer amount of growth would be catastrophic....

The 14th,16th,and 20th Royal Armor Divisions finally arrived at the airport. Every tank and armor vehicles were unloaded from the aircraft, Each Division were now on their way to support the Infrantry troops. Some of the tank commanders claimed to see some of the acigoo as they were driving by. It had unbearable smell to it, most of the tank commanders and the technians wore mask to stop from smelling the digusting stench. Still they drove on to help with the boarder duties.
---------------------------------
Meanwhile, Capitan Keeves was trying to contact the ViZion scientists main camp. "Hello, anyone there, this is Capitan Keeves from the Tylinoa 1st Royal Infrantry Division, will this acigoo come close to the boarders?" the capitan said over a portable radio. "Keep me informed when they answer." he said to the field radio technian. "Ok sir" the technian replied.

(OOC: This is assuming everyone was evacuated and the bombardment of the Acigoo is commencing.)

"All power to Wraith system. Force reactors to 120%," declared a frustrated Halsey.

"Aye, sir!"

Halsey eyed the bow of the vessel out of the bridge window. The outter hull of the entire vessel began to glow a brilliant blue as the shields died, and that brilliant blue soon turned to a blueish-white. The Wraith system emitted a hum, which would sometimes resemble a choir of angels singing a glorious hymn. After a minute of this humming, Halsey broke from his trance and issued a decisive command. "Commence Wraith system, phase three."

The blueish-white glowed even more, and arcs of energy sprang from the hull, leaping towards two cannons in the bow. A magnificent sight came into view as the light dimmed. It soon reappeared, in an almost thunderous shot, which sent two beams of similarly-colored light streaking towards the Kongolan landscape. Halsey looked and saw 23 other pairs of these beams, all coming from the other Omaha-class GravBattleships in the fleets.

"Damage reports on the way. Scanning landscape..."

(OOC Background on the Wraith system: The wraith system turns the vessel into a weapon. Energy from the four 13-Gigawatt reactors onboard are diverted into the outter hull, made of Nordlundium, a superconducting superalloy found in the Nordlund system. This emits a dark-blueish or blueish-white glow when charged, and emits a hum. During phase three, the energy is focused into two cannons in the bow of the vessel, which hold the energy for a short time before firing. When focused into a small area, the weapon can do equal or more damage than a very large nuclear device. The total power output can be anywhere from 36-50 Gigawatts. As you can see, it is a very powerful weapon, with very destructive power.)

On the radar of each Bomber, even though they were still 10 miles from the city, missiles were already being launched, ready to pluck them out of the sky with all the grace of a half-brick in a sock to the back of the head.

"Dammit!", shouted the pilot of the lead bomber, "We've got missiles incoming! Start with the ECM and the Chaff. The interceptors might be able to take these bastards down, but i'm not taking anychances!"

Each Bomber started dumping chaff in an attempt to draw the attention of the missiles, whilst Electronic Counter-Measures went to work, trying to force the missiles to lose their lock-ons.

Meanwhile, the 3 squadrons of fighters heading for the Bombers were literally only just coming alongside the bombers, only for them to see the missiles.

*Kzzzt* This is Interceptor One Bravo to all fighters, we have missiles inbound, 25 of the bastards. All interceptors, arm Air-to-Air missiles, get ready to fire on those things when I say. If any missiles make it past our ones, open up with the machine guns, try and pick 'em off manually. Interceptor One Bravo out *Kzzzt*

Each of the 30 Interceptors armed a single missile, ready to fire at the missiles in an attempt to intercept them en-route, whilst at the same time getting ready to open fire with their nose-mounted MG.

Meanwhile, just above them, 40 more Interceptors, having reached the supposed position of the enemy fighters, arrived to find nothing, the enemy apparently having managed to somehow retreat before they could arrive. [OOC: Sorry Hyperlight, but it's just to free up my Interceptors. I can obviously just assume you flew out of my radar range before I could arrive, then you can simply turn the fighters around again to continue the fight] But, each fighter in the four squadrons could hear Interceptor One Bravo's message, and took the orders as their own, each arming an Air-to-Air missile, ready to start firing on the incoming missiles.

[OOC]: Well, ye've got a slight problem now. FT fighters ready to start picking off yer missiles in mid-air (I'm mostly relying on the missiles we're firing, since bullets aren't gonna really have much of a chance against something as fast and small as a missile). Oh, and a side-note. This means there's 70 missiles heading towards your 25, along with all the Countermeasures being deployed. Much explosions are about to ensue I assume.

[OOC]: Don't worry, i'm doing the missile post.

Oh, and since yer missiles are in the air (Unless, y'know, they somehow skim across the ground, before turning at a right angle into my fighters, which although would be impossible, would still be pretty cool), they're just targets for my missiles (My missiles just track Radar Signatures and Heat Emissions. Basically, we're aiming at the near-furnace heats emanating from the back of the rocket, and at the admittedly small radar signatures of the missiles as a whole.

Oh, and I could just go for the easy answer, and say 'OMFG, TEHY ARE TEH FT STUFF!!!1', which unfortunately covers pretty much everything.

[OOC]: Many thanks for the compliment Thompson.

: As the missiles neared the bombers, the missiles from the fighters detached, hurling themselves towards the enemy missiles in an attempt to do the arial equivalent of trucks full of Gasoline bashing into each other head-on.

As the missiles neared each other, a mere 2 of the opposing missiles were stopped by the ECM, losing their locks and simply shooting straight past the bombers.

Unfortunately, only 17 of the other missiles were managed to be shot down by the mix of counter-missiling and machine-gun fire, with most of the actual missile destruction being caused by the sharpnel of a few lucky hits bashing into other missiles, leaving 6 missiles for the 5 bombers.

3 missiles headed straight for the very back bomber, and with the bomber unable to even come close to dodging 3 missiles at once, it was shredded in mid-air, it's bombs adding to the destruction, turning it into a gigantic flaming ball of radiation and...well....fire.

Each of the remaining 3 missiles headed for a different target, with only the lead bomber being lucky enough to not be on the hit list. One bomber was lucky enough to have it's missile change course, and impact square on an unlucky interceptor, vaporising his craft instantly. One was hit square on by a missile, turning it into yet another fireball, and the remaining bomber got incredibly lucky, as the destruction of the bomber next to it sent shrapnel at the missile and it, and although no serious damage was suffered from the Shrapnel, it managed to knock the missile off course by a matter of feet, causing it to miss so narrowly that the paint on the bomber blistered from the heat emanating from the rear of the tube of destruction.

The remaining bomber crews counted themselves lucky, whilst at the same time mourning the loss of their comrades-in-arms in the bombers that hadn't been so lucky.

Of course, no action doesn't result in a [i]re-action.

From each bomber, 5 Air-to-Surface missiles were launched, with the bombers now a mere 4 miles from the city outskirts, with each missile located at the approxomated position of a SAM launcher's firing spot.

After the previous incident, the Interceptors immediately accelerated even more, streaking past the bombers toward the city in an attempt to draw away any more anti-aircraft fire.

Aboard Pioner One

"Sir....it's happened. The enemy have retaliated to the Bomber's attempted strike. 2 have been shot down by ground launched missiles, and 3 are within minutes of the target site. We're now preforming the counter-attack. We're sending in a squadron of Atmospheric Gunboats to start work on the city. They're expected to turn yet more of it to rubble with missiles and Mass Drivers."

"No Void Cannons?"

"No Sir, they won't operate in the atmosphere. They overheat too quickly."

"Very well. Start prepping the gunboats for action. What's happened with the Orbital Bombardment blocking the Bombers?"

"Sir, it appears to have temporarily stopped about 10 minutes ago. I would assume Pioneer Two is responsible for that."

"Excellent. Well, now to start praying again."

"Aye aye, Admiral, Ticonderoga 2 doing so."
"Aye aye, Admiral, Ticonderoga 3 doing so."
"Aye aye, Admiral, Ticonderoga 4 doing so."
"Aye aye, Admiral, Ticonderoga 5 doing so." You get the idea....
"Launch 30 EA 6-B Prowlers, have them Jam the missles, and start launching up chaff!"
"Yessir!"
As if the navy was an orchestra, a grand chourus errupted. 30 SM-2 missles streaked off to intercept the incoming 25 missles. At that same time, 30 prowlers took off from their respective aircraft.
"this is prowler leader, all prowler, initiate ALQ-99 Tactical Jamming Systems (TJS) NOW!"
On cue, all the prowlers turned on their jammers, and it created a firestorm of jamming.
The missles, however, still came.
...
of the 15 missles, 5 went astray due to jamming, flying off past the ships harmlessly.
however, 10 still raced to the ships. now it was up to the SM-2's and the chaff....
missles collided, creating explosions over the horizon, a beautiful cry of pain hitting the waters in their wake.
"Vampire vampire vampire!"
"What?!"
"4 missles approaching sir!"
"God help us."
Three of the four missles were all grouped together, heading toward a single Ticonderoga, and one was heading for aircraft carrier 6. The lone missle hading for the carrier was fired upon by computer controlled cannons, but was unsucessfully taken down. It rammed the deck of the carrier, sending jet fuel ablze and halving it's launching capacity...for now. "Get fire control up there now!" The captain screamed. 15 men dressed in blue, bolted out of the hatch and started to combat the fire. meanwhile, one of the missles headed for the ticoneroga ttok the chaff bate, exploding harmlessly in the sky.
the other 2, however, did not take the bait.
"Full speed, Full port!" The captain screamed.
"Brace for impact!
3...2...1..."
A loud thunderous groan was heard below decks and amidships. the ticonderoga had had it's TLAM's disabled, and it's engines' power halved, as well as having the 2 choppers on board burnt to a crisp.

".....no. Those bastards just killed 7 men. Our men. No way in hell are they getting away with this. We're doing this now!"

The bombers finally reached the city, and began the drop, a line of flame and radiation being traced along the ground as the bombers started their work, eventually leading up to the asteroid itself, surrounded by the 'Acigoo'. But not for much longer. Soon, the Acigoo would be spreading.

The intense heat and radiation washed over the Acigoo and the Asteroid from whence they came, sending the speed of Acigoo growth through the roof, with the Acigoo changing almost instantly from literally puddles of goo to small blobs, to blobs with multiple legs, to upright blobs, and even to a few ones making failed attempts at flight, and all within a matter of seconds.

Now the problem have finally escalated....

The scientists all ran to their gyger counters and monitors. They also began to use satelitte telemetry to attempt to track Acigoo movement.

Actually, a Wraith system has been known to be one of the other Acigoo killers.

The Acigoo, once subjected to a Wraith cannon's shot, will start to cave in on itself and condense until it turns into a small, manageable glob (Enough for a few cleanup crews to handle. We then take it via special containers, and shoot it into a black hole.)

"This is the Kalaskinov. We have aquired target and are awaiting confirmation."
"The ArmaLite has, as well."

Both ships were now ready to fire a tachyon beam that would hit with enough force to create a ditch around 250 feet deep.

"Central to Fleet, be advised, you are to continue firing and create a ring around the central beacon."

"Roger that Central. Weapon powering up..."

The capacitor coils began to glow red as the power meter slowly charged up to 100%.

"Tracking?" shouted out the captain of the Kalashkinov.

"CLEAR SHOT!" shouted back the object tracker.

"Energy management?"

"ALL SYSTEMS GO!"

"FIRE!"

The weapons systems operator pressed the large red button, and the ship fired the massive beam. The recoil impulse made it begin to go backwards at about 300 km/hr, and engines had to be applied to remain on target.

"Recon team reports a direct hit."

For about ten minutes, they kept on firing until there was a ring of 3,000m diameter.

"Central to Fleet, cease fire, cease fire."

The acigoo then arrived about thirty minutes later. It had to fill the massive ring and was slowed significantly by it, enough for scientists to collect 16 liters of sample acigoo. The acigoo could not be stopped, however, and eventually filled the ditch.

Now, let's return to where I was getting to before I was rudely interrupted.

IC: "Christ, I've never seen Acigoo in person before."

A Hammerian researcher walked alongside four Special Forces soldiers.

One turned to another, saying, "Well, just be glad you're not the poor bastard who had to find out what this stuff was."

And he replied, "Heh. Idiots. All they'd need to do is find a Hammerian science vessel on station. They'd make their job alot easier."

The researcher walked over to a few large, metallic bins. "Alright, boys. Here they are. Just be careful loading the Acigoo. 'Stuff spreads like a fuckin' wildfire if the EM field shuts off."

"Yes, sir," they responded in unison. The head honcho, a Special forces soldier denoted by only the letter "One" on his namepatch, gave orders. "Alright. Don your Chemsuits, load this shit up."

The soldiers went to work, activating and loading the containers. The EM fields inside of these containers suspended the Acigoo, keeping it from absorbing the container. It was a flawless design. That is, until one container failed.

"One" stood, looking down at a container's serial number for inventory checks. A scream caught his ear, but when he turned, he saw nothing but a container sitting by a small lake of Acigoo. One grabbed his SAR-8 Assault Rifle and approached the container carefully. Four was no where in sight.

One gently popped off the heavy lid, and peered inside.

The lid viciously flew open, landing 30 feet away. Pretty far for a 300lb. metal lid. Out of the container flew a blackish beast, landing on its feet, leaving a large crater in the ground. A patch of cloth was visible on its chest. It read, "Four".

"Oh, shit."

"Capitan, word has it that some of the nations are now fighting each other, what should we do?" asked Sargent Greg Polask. "We need to send some type of message to get it across that we do not need to be fighting right now, but helping each other, this acigoo can swipe out civilization as we know it." replied Capitan Keeves with a concerned voice. "All the base camps would probably be on the same frequency, so post this message, In a time of fear our nations need to pull together we must defeat this acigoo and keep our world, our human race alive, stop the fighting, pull yourseleves together and once and for all defeat this piece of shit acigoo." the Capitan said with a little pride in his voice. The Sargent went to the main communications tent, where the message was posted all over the base camps and the airplanes frequencys inside Kongola.

OOC: Sorry I haven't been around lately, I had a large amount of spyware on my computer and I've spent most of today fighting it, its gone now so...

With sightings of more advanced Acigoo creatures, the Izistani began to set up machine gun emplacements and various sensors around their camp. The Kestrals were still flying around tracking the goo's movement, with the Nightengales accompanying them of course.
