*Aboard the flight deck of the Siesatian ship Firestar*

The members of Commander William Rolland's recon force lounged in various positions around their planes. They had checked out and repaired any damage to thier aircraft, and were simply waiting for something to happen. The last communication from the Colonial Task force was Callie telling them to remember thier manners, treat all Siesatians with respect, and not touch anything - ever. Callie's concerns that the group of 32 fighter pilots would cause an international incident though, were seemingly unfounded, as they all seemed to be doing nothing out of the ordinary. Infact, a few of the pilots were exhausted by thier super-sonic dash through Cherry Rose and simply settled into thier cockpits for a quick nap. Others pulled out novels or played cards, while others swapped stories with eachother to pass the time. Commander Rolland himself was playing cards with one of the pilots who had teased him earlier about his one and only other diplomatic encounter, when he insulted, sneezed on and mangled the english language before a Narzillian liason officer. "Go fish" mumbled Lieutenant Commander Jennifer Greenfield as Commander Rolland leaned back from thier go-fish game to stretch his arms. "Why are we playing go fish again?" Rolland asked. Before Greenfield could tell Rolland to stop changing the subject because he was losing, they heard a commotion behind them, followed by the scuffles of boots as thier wearers stood up. Rolland and Greenfield looked at eachother for a second before they rushed to thier feet to see what was going on. As Rolland began to move forewards, the second in command of the recon force, Commander Jim Walker got Greenfield's attention and indicated by pointing at his watch that it was nearly 6:30 Cherry Rose time, when the Siesatians were planning to serve dinner. When Greenfield focused her attention back to Rolland, she saw that most of the pilots were formed up into a pair of rows based on thier squadren membership, and Rolland was talking to the holographic projection that greeted them earlier. While she was still out of earshot, she decided that she should come to parade rest with her squadren in thier line. While the pilots had been eager to joke around while no actual Siesatians were around, they tried to keep a more serious demeanor when foriegn representatives were about.

Commander Rolland thanked her again for the hospitality of the Siesatian government again, as they led the two columns of pilots off of the flight deck. "You have quite a beautiful ship here" said Rolland with admiration in his voice. "Thank you. As the Siesatian flagship, the Freestar utilizes the most advanced technology available to us." replied the hologram politely. "Please make a left up ahead" she directed, broadly indicating with her arm. "You know, despite all the generosity that you've been showing, I'm afraid that you never mentioned your name." The holographic projection stopped in front of a door and smiled. "My name is Syphera," she said, "and this is the mess hall. Now, there's something I need to explain to you all before you go in to eat," she continued, as the pilots shuffled around to ensure that they could all hear. "Now, I'm sure you're all a bit curious about why I only appear to you as a hologram, and why you haven't seen any members of the crew during your walk over here to the mess hall, correct?" A few of the pilots, including Walker and Greenfield, nodded in agreement. Now that Rolland thought about it, he realized she was right - he just hadn't noticed it since he had been trying to figure out how Siesatia was being projected as they walked. "Well, I guess I should start with the history of Siesatia. Or - " She was interupted by opening of the mess hall door door by a pair of very leathery hands. "Je-GAACK!" yelled Rollands as he jumped backwards, his hands grabbing at his empty hip holster. He instantly regretted his order for the recon force to leave thier sidearms in thier planes to "promote the diplomatic nature of the events". All the other pilots had pretty much the same reaction of yelling, diving backwards and grabbing for empty hip holsters as the raptor-like being in the doorway tilted its head in confusion. "Gack! Syphera, run!" yelled Rolland as he pulled himself to his feet and tried to pull her away from the doorway, forgetting that it was only a holographic projection of Syphera in his absolute panic. Rollands simply passed right through the hologram as he tried to grab the now mortified Syphera, and went crashing to the floor again. He began to panic again as he felt a hand grab his ankle, but as he was dragged away from the doorway and what looked like a raptor, he realized it was Greenfield and one of the other pilots were dragging him to safety while Walker ran out of view behind a corner, probably to go get his gun. Rolland screamed again as he saw that the raptor in the doorway also seemed to be reaching for him, probably wanting to eat him. Ahhh! Dinosaurs, freakin' dinosaurs! thought Rolland, as the raptor's hand latched onto his shoulder. who the HELL thought I'd encounter dinosaurs on a freakin' SPACESHIP! Rolland saw the raptor open its mouth, seemingly about to take a big chunk right out of Rolland. Rolland was left with no choice - he balled up his right hand, took aim right at the creature's snout, and gave it the meanest right hook he had. Much to his suprise, the raptor immedately let him go and withdrew backwards. Rollands lept to his feet and slammed shut to door to the mess hall, and turned to face his pilots. They stared at him, one of them with an uncapped pen readied as a weapon. Rolland then turned and stared at Syphera for a second, before resuming his paniced yelling. "Good God Syphera! You've got a dinosaur outbreak on your ship!" Syphera immediately tried to calm everyone down. "No, no, you don't understand. That's the crew" Syphera said to the shocked pilots. There was silence for a second as the pilots absorbed this. "OH. MY. GOD! There's some kind of space disease / biological weapon onboard turning the crew into dinosaurs, quick Greenfield, baricade the door!" yelled Rollands. As the someone on the other side of the door once again tried to open it. Greenfield and a pair of other pilots immediately slammed against the door and tried to hold it shut, but the door was quickly forced open with so much force that it flung all three of the Colonial aviators off their feet and away from the doorway. Syphera began to cover her eyes from the insanity of the situation. Encouraged by the success of his last bout with the raptor, Rolland lept in front of the now open door way and gave the raptor inside a quick punch to the snout again before leaping up, grabbing the bulkhead above the door, and swinging forewards like that to perform a kick to the raptor's snout with both of his feet. The raptor stumbled backwards several steps and Rollands released his grip on the bulkhead, dropping a few feet back down onto the deck. "Ya-ha! Take that you ugly, stupid sonofa - " he began to yell at the raptor, before it cut him off midspeach with a swipe to the chest from its tail. Rolland stumbled backwards from the attack, being very dazed. As he fell to the ground, he could hear Syphera begin to yell something at Greenfield and the other pilots, but he lost conciousness as he hit the deck from his fall.

OCC: Siesatia, if you'd like to take it from here, that'd be okay, since you said you had an idea in mind. If you'd prefer that I finish it, I can do that too. :D

And I think it's safe to assume that the last thing Rolland heard before blacking out was Syphera trying to explain again to the pilots that your people just look like raptors, but aren't.

All the priests throughout the land were arriving and once they were all there they spread throughout the capital comforting the citizens. A little boy had lost his entire family in the carpet bombing. Cardinal DeVito walked up to him and comforted him. He picked him up and carried him to the convent of nuns in the city and they were to take care of him until the war was over, for they volonteered to take care of all orphans whose familys were lost in the war until after the war when those girls who wanted to be nuns would live with the nuns, boys who wanted to be monks would live with the monks, and the boys who wanted to be priests would live in the churches as altar boys. Those who didnt want to become areligious would be put up form adoption. The Cardinal walked over to the seminary, which had been destroyed in the carpet bombing. It was flaming. Seminarians bodies were littered all over the place. "Heretics killed them in cold blood" muttered the Cardinal.

Then a group of protestants came forward and wanted to get out of Cherry Ridge. One punched a priest and a CR Home Guard Soldier bayonetted him to death but the rest were put on a truck and brought to the CR coast.

It was the first day of school. A regular, normal first day. But at the begining of 4th period the lives of a class of 6th graders would be changed forever.
"Goodmorning class, I am Mrs. Harris, your science teacher"
"Hello Mrs. Harris" said the class. " Does anyone know how humans came about?"
"God created us from the dust of the earth" said Susie, who wanted to be a nun. "wrong, we are evolved from monkeys."
The bell rang. " You may go to lunch. "
A thoughtful boy, Thomas Young, who had known she was a heretic when she said that comment about evolution. He went to the Pastor of the local church, ST. Pius X, which also ran the parish scool.
" father, Father!!!"
"Yes thomas" 'the new teacher, Mrs. Harris taught evolution."
" I knew, the only teacher in the whole archdiocese who is not a nun teaches evolution, Thomas go back to school, Ill handle it."
father O' Rourck grabbed his cell phone and call Bishop O' Reilly, one of 2 auxillary bishops of the archdiocese. He told him about the situation.
" Hello children, said Mrs. Harris said to the class as they returned from Lunch with a big smile. That smile lasted 2 seconds. Helocopters hovered above the roof. Elite teams btoke through the windows. A second team broke in through the class room door. ' Everyone get down. The children ducked under their desks. Mrs. Harris was taken and thrown to the floor. She was then put in handcuffs and then was told that she was under arrest for heresy, teaching evolution. "Nooooooooo"
She was thron into a cage in the back of the SWAT trucks and then brought before the inqusitors.

Cherry Ridge, Mrs. Harris witnessed her mother having an abortion when she was a teen. The Doc in the abortion clinic used a wire knife to dismember the third trimester priemie. Mrs. Harris was there when the Doc pulled the armless little girl out of her mother's birth canal and past the stainless vaginal spreaders. The dismembered baby went, 'WAAAAA ! WAAAAA! WAAAAAA! WAAAAA !" until the Doc caved the baby's head in. Since that time Mrs. Harris has embraced a belief in evolution. She also believes that 40GB hard drives evolved from transistors and that one day a d cell battery will become a red giant or maybe even a supernova !

Rollands woke up to see two yellow eyes staring right down at his, "ACK" He bolted upright and smacked his head against the snout of the onlooker, "Oww, calm down." he heard halfway out the door. He stopped mid stride and turned to gawk at the raptor, who was dressed in a white lab coat that trailed behind. "Did you just-" he asked "Yes." it seemed to speak without the use of its mouth. "How are you speaking to me? Telepathy?" "No, but similar." He thought really hard of the words he wanted to say to her, but nothing happined, he tried again with the same result. "How do I do that?" he asked, "It is a transmission, originating from a device implanted in our skulls, it sends over speech into the hearing organs directly from our minds. I'm not sure how it works, so I won't try." "Where are my crew?" "Eating dinner with the rest of our crew, it just started, so I believe you can still get something to eat." "Thanks miss..." "Dr. Devara." she said curtly, beffore returning to her other patients.
The halls were an iron-grey/blue, and the lighting seemed brighter than before, and tere was a soft, distant hum coming from behind him. He finally reached the door marked mess hall. When the door slid open, there was a burst of applause, as all his crew stood up, cheering and laughing. He was instructed by a member of his crew that there was an officers table off to the right. On his trip there, he saw many tables of mixed crew, teaching and being taught card games, and one table seemed to be drunk, even theyre hosts looked as though they'd had too much.
The officers table had his first officer, and two Siesatians, both wore white coats, one with three silver stars, one with two gold ones. "Have a seat Rolland" his first officer said, "Alright." he sat, "This is the captain of the SMSC Freestar, Terrace Livington, and Commander Ulayla Syphera." He shook their clawed hands. "Pleasure, so your Syphera." "I am, and I couldn't help notice your acting the hero by trying to shove me outta the way, and your hand convieniently went thrrough my waist." The entire table burst out laughing, as he turned red. His directions for formallity seemed to have been lost on his crew, as the siesatians were just as fun loving, and humerous as they were. A plate was brought out for him. "Whats this?" "Pteradactyl wing?" His first mate offered jokinly. "Funny." "Its chicken, marinated in soy sauce, with herbs, specially chosen by our chefs for this voyage." she said. "Captain, Have you ever been in space before?" Terrace asked, "No." "Look out that window." he stood up, and walked over to a porthole, and saw stars, and below, earth. "Holy shit." "Its a beutiful sunset tonight." Ulayla said, "Yes, how long until we reach DC space?" "16 hours" "Alright."

ooc- Sorry that took so long to get on, I just got back from my bloodworks. Tag, your it, so type the next part. His hand went thru her waist LMAO, what a good touch

*Aboard the CNS Challenger*

Captain Shoemaker sipped a freshly made cup of coffee as he sat in the command chair of the bridge, watching the transmission from Cherry Ridge play back again. The ship's intelligence officer and JAG officer also watched from the bridge, while Callie, the shipboard AI, watched thier reactions from the monitor to the right of the one playing the transmission. "Okay," said Captain Shoemaker, "I think we should evacuate the protestants immediately. Any differing opinions?" "It could be a trap," suggested the intelligence officer, a tired looking blond man. "I would recommend caution if we go in." Captain Shoemaker looked over at the JAG officer as the intelligence officer paused to sip his cup of coffee. "I'm inclined to agree that it might be a trap," she said, "but we can't really let those people stay there. We came here to rescue anyone that needed rescuing, and there they are." Shoemaker nodded in agreement with her. "I have to ask though, are you sure we don't have to wake up Commodore Danforth for this?" The JAG officer asked as the crewman distributing the fresh cups of coffee got around to her. "His orders were clear in that he shouldn't be disturbed", said the the intelligence officer. "Callie, what do you think? Do you agree that would should go in?" asked Shoemaker to the right monitor. "Absolutely," said the AI, "but like the others, I'd recommend caution. The actions Cherry Ridge are taking don't seem to make much sense - first they offer up these protestents for us to evac, seemlingly a sign of peace, and then they fire missiles at the Freestar, and when they fail horribly at that, they retarget the missiles for any ships friendly to us. It dosen't make much sense." "Well, this is what happens when the church leads a country," muttered the intelligence officer, "the country gets all wacky tamacky with killing people and sending mixed messages and other little bits of insanity like that. Tends to happen in most of these little crackpot regimes, be it fascism, nazi-ism, or just plain stupidism - you can never tell what's on thier minds, what they're trying to do or what they're trying to say because they're all accross the board with it." Shoemaker thought about it for another moment before making up his mind. "Alright, we'll go in." he said as he turned to face Callie on her monitor. "Callie, prep a V-22 Osprey and send it to pick up the protestents. Load it up with a squad of Colonial Rangers, there'll still be room for plenty of refugees. If there are more than the Osprey can carry, we'll just have to send more Ospreys. And alert Wing Commander O'Dell, I want her and six squadrens of Cobalt Tomcats to linger outside of Cherry Ridge airspace incase it really is a trap." As the AI began to excecute his orders, Shoemaker turned back around to the intelligence and JAG officer. "Thanks for your input, both of you." The officers both nodded as Shoemaker turned to specifically address the intelligence officer. "And you, get some sleep - that's an order. Callie and the second shift of your intel staff can manage just fine without for a while." The intel officer began to object, but realized that Shomaker was correct - he had been pushing himself and needed some rest if he was to keep going tommorow. "Okay then," nodded Shoemaker, "you're dismissed. Keep me posted on any developments". The officers saluted and departed as Captain Shoemaker turned around to watch the first of the Rangers board the Osprey on the flight deck and what looked to him like Wing Commander Kate O'Dell and her radar operator dash accross the flightdeck to thier Tomcat.

OCC: There will be 12 Colonial Rangers on the Osprey - Rangers are my general level special operations guys. The six squadrens of 16 Tomcats each Kate O'Dell is leading up adds up to 96 fighters, but they'll stay outside of CR airspace unless it really is a trap.

*Aboard the SMSC Freestar*

"Oh man, I'm so sorry about what happened earlier... I mean really. I'm sorry." Began to apologize Rolland as he sat back down to his seat. "I really hope that the guy that I kicked is okay." he continued. "It's quite alright," said Commander Syphera, "you didn't really hurt him, he was just trying not to hurt you. He was just trying to get you away from him when he wacked you, and feels terrible for actually hurting you - we sometimes forget that humans aren't really as tough as we are." "Oh." answered Rolland, as he felt the relief rush through him. Sure, he thought to himself, things didn't go so good at first, be things are okay now. "Try the chicken," said Joe Walker, Rolland's second in command. "Hey... last time I saw you, you were running away from the scuffle and down a hall - what happened to you, I thought you were going to get your gun." asked Rolland. A laugh went up at the table as Walker put on an embarresed expression. "What?" asked a now confused Rolland, "I saw Walker run away, so I thought he was going back to his plane to get his gun." Another round of laughter came about as Greenfield, another one of Rolland's pilots began to explain. "Sir, you're not totally wrong about Walker going back to his plane... but it hasen't to get his gun. Apparently, Walker was so scared, he ran down to the flight deck as fast as he could, jumped into the first fighter that he saw, which happened to be mine, and tried to power up his engines, and escape, leaving the rest of us to be eaten." "Whaaat?" asked Rolland, totally suprised. "No way - our very own Commander Joe Walker freaking out and abandoning his friends - our very own Joe Walker, who once claimed that he was the toughest man in all of 4th Fleet?" Walker now had his hands covering his face in shame as he said "Yes sir, I did all that... but there's more." Syphera, gesturing with a fork while she talked, told Rolland what happened after. "Well, while I was explaining to your pilots about my people's history and trying to calm them down, a few of the crewmen of the Freestar chased after Walker to try to tell him what has going on - Walker just kept yelling at them 'no, please don't eat me, I'm full of cholesteral, I'll clog up your arteries' as he ran away". Rolland laughed as Walker pointed to his stomach saying that it was true while Syphera continued. "By the time the crewmen got close to Walker though, he had already jumped into a fighter - as mentioned earlier, Greenfield's fighter, so the crewmen back off, afraid of damaging your aircraft. Walker is still freaking out though, and he's still screaming about eating him would be unhealthy as he pulls out Greenfield's pistol from under her flight seat." Rolland began to lean forewards to hear better, as he worried about what happened next. "The crewmen were really concerned then - afterall, we're a pretty tough people, but a 9mm bullet would leave us as dead as it would leave you, so they dash back out of the flight deck, closing a door behind them. By this time, I've finally gotten most of what they needed to know explained to your pilots, and Greenfield thought the same thing that you did - that Walker was going to get his gun, so she began to run down the corridors too, hoping to catch up with Walker and tell what's going on. On the flight deck though, Walker was already trying to power up his engines, but for reason couldn't. Our crewmen could hear the engines whining through the door." Rolland turned to Walker and Greenfield for an explanation. "It's her stupid fighter! She's got the engines all messed up!" said Walker, as he extended an accusing finger at Greenfield. "No no Walker, you just don't know how to treat them right." countered Greenfield. "I swear, I wonder sometimes how your plane holds itself together the way you treat the poor thing! The have to cuddle the engines on the Sea Aardvarks, kinda gently ease 'em up if you're doing a cold-start." Rolland nodded as Greenfield spoke, the engines of the F-111C Sea Aardvark were always a bit touchy at startup, but Walker disagreed. "What the hell are you talking about? I go straight to full power all the time in my Aardvark, and she never complains." he said, animating a powerup using his hands. "Anyways," continued Syphera, "the crewmen just off the flightdeck were getting worried about all the noise coming out of those engines, so they open up the door just a little to peek inside and see what's happening. They slammed it shut immediately though, when Walker saw them and pointed his pistol at them. Luckily though, he didn't fire any rounds. Or, more accurately, he couldn't." Rolland again turned to Walker and Greenfield on his side of the table. "Again, Greenfield and her craaazy equipment settings" said Walker, as he gestured at Greenfield with his thumb. After Greenfield explained that she had modified her pistol with a double-safety system, that Walker didn't know about, Syphera continued. "It's extremely fortunate that Lieutenant Commander Greenfield was so concerned with firearm safety, as she rushed through the door and onto the flight deck before anyone could stop her. Luckily for her, Commander Walker still couldn't figure out how to enable the gun to fire." Rolland was shocked now, and asked Walker "You tried to shoot Greenfield?". "Well," began Walker, looking even more embarrased then he was earlier, "only a few times. I thought she might have been...you know. A dinosaur or something." "BS!" exclaimed Greenfield, as she pointed at Walker with her fork. "As I was running towards my fighter, which now has the seat calibration all messed up, I could clearly hear the trigger being pulled like 30 times." "Aw man.... you're really lucky that gun was modified like that" said Rolland as he leaned back in his chair. Walker, still a shade of red, began to speak as he crossed his arms accross his chest. "Yeah, well... it all worked out okay. Once Greenfield caught up to me and... ah... punched me to get my attention, it all worked out. Ain't that right Captain Livington?". "Yes, there was no harm done." said the Captain. "Now, enough stories for the time being, eat up. Dessert's almost on the way." Greenfield seemed to perk up when she heard dessert mentioned. Walker turned over to Rolland and began to ask quietly, "Hey Rolland?". "What?" replied Rolland. "Well, how's this for a deal. I'll never bring up that time you messed up with the Narzillion Liason officer again, and you never mention this to the other pilots back on the Challenger." A wide smile broke out accross Rolland's face as he pretended to consider the proposal. "How's that sound?" asked Walker again, looking hopeful now. "Not on your life - this is going straight into the gossip pool, and when Wing Commander O'Dell hears about it, knowing her sense of humor, it'll probably be posted in the Navy Times newspaper by tommorow." Walker let out a long groan at this, not looking foreward to the jokes he would probably he subject to once everyone heard about what happened - what he did would probably overshadow what Rolland did for nearly everyone. Greenfield though, not content to let Walker mellow in his own miserableness, gave him a light punch on the shoulder. "Aw, cheer up Walker!" she said. "Afterall, once this bit of news hits the Navy Times, you'll famous!"

The skyscrapers of the Democratic Colonies loomed above the skyline, fireworks were launched high into the air as the Freestar glided slowely into position. The repulsors engaged, and the decent slowed until it touched down on the prepared landing pad. The side door opend, as did the launch bay. 50 fighters flew out, All launched their misslie simultaniously, the missiles screamed into the air and millions of multi colored sparks and flashes, The crowd who had assembled stared in awe, as the pilots proceded down the gangplank, cheered on by the spectators. "You sure you won't hang out a bit?" Rolland asked, "We're sure, we have to get home, but I have something for you, and soemthing for your people." Syphera said. and handed him a package, and a letter. "The package is for you, use it when you are in trouble, we will come. The letter is for your leaders." she said, as he got off the gangplank. "Your fighters are on the ground below us, the rest are working the light show." "Thank you." "It was for the good of the people of cherry ridge." The gangplank began to raise. "Don't forget to use what I gave you, it should go in your fighter, in the second empty module." The ship began to raise into the air moments later, and soon it was out of sight. He looked down at the package, "Lets see what you have there." His first officer said, he opened the package to find a computer add on hardware, it would fit perfectly under the missile control, like she said it would. It had a cover over a big red switch.

The letter:
Dear Democratic Colonies,

Back in CR city The Cardinal was walking down the street thinking where to sleep that night.
" I will sleep in the childrens hospital lobby on the floor and visit and comfort them all that day." And i must rebuild those cathedrals.
All that remained of his possesion were the clothes on his back and his signs of office
All he had on was:
His cassock trimed in red with a roman collar and his Cardinalatial ring and pictoral cross, and his croiser, on his head was a red skull cap, and black socks and blackdress shoes
He got into a car and drove out to the countryside over to the remains of his palace. He got out. All that remained was a crumbling wall and then he saw it.

The letter:
Dear Democratic Colonies,
The Siesatian govenment, and especially the crew of the Freestar, thanks you and your valient warriors in the assisted defeat of the vile Cherry Ridge. We have seen the inteligence and perserverence of your countrymen, and hold you as a shining example of the human race. We send you the coordinates for a new program, in which we defend, that you may wish to join, or not, what ever pleases you, it is called ISEC. We also reccomend your Rolland for a promotion, for his skill and bravery in battle.

So your going to launch missile at invadors ON your own land? The US can have all the missile sites it wants, but to defend yourself, missiles are a first strike weapon, now you will have to call in Tanks, Artilary, Infantry, ect. We will return and continue our strikes if you wish, as we have currently pulled out. I am still posting here to tie up some loose ends. If you value your position and land over your people, you deserve to be wiped off the face of the earth.

IC: The Grand Admiral sat in the command chair on the Dunne watching all available video from the recent air battle. His Marauders had proven their worth yet again, and they would be commended for that. But there were more pressing issues on his platter. Despite a complete carpet bombing the CR still refused to surrender. He had wanted to have his troops home soon but there was still work to do. He got on the com and prepared to break the news to his Marauder crews.

"Ok boys and girls. Its been a tough fight so far, but the CR still hasn't caved. Split into 2 groups and have half patrol the battle group and have the other half patrol the riverways in Cherry Ridge. Groups of 3... 2 "Pirates" (OOC: Thats the standard loadout) and 1 "Skywatcher (OOC: AA Loadout). Stay safe and don't hesitate to call for reinforcements. We've got air superiority, so it shouldn't be too dangerous. Luciano Out"

*Aboard the CNS Challenger*

Captain Shoemaker watched the primary LCD screen at the front of the bridge while Callie, the shipboard AI, appeared to also watch it from a screen mounted on the side of the bridge. The foreward bank of LCD screens on the bridge of the CNS Challenger were filled with the radar images from the Colonial AWACS orbiting above the battlegroup, nose camera video from Wing Commander O'Dell's fighter force just outside of Cherry Ridge, and satellite overwatch of the entire area, as the primary screen was the feed from a camera carrying Ranger aboard the V-22 Osprey that was going into CR airspace to pick up Protestent refugees. "Do you think there's going to be trouble?" asked Shoemaker to the AI as the Osprey began to circle its landing area, checking for possible threats. "I don't think so anymore," the AI replied, "those CR troops there aren't even holding thier weapons anymore. I think we can get those refugees out just fine". "I hope you're right" said Shoemaker as the Osprey touched down.

Major Rebecca Levy lept out of the Osprey as it was touching down on the soft white sand of Cherry Ridge, leading out her squad of 12. She held her M4A1 carbine in a ready position to fire, but pointed down at the ground to show her intentions. As her Rangers took up a semi-circle formation around the entry to the Osprey, Levy began to walk towards the group of Cherry Ridge soldiers and protestent refugees that were about 100 meters away from the Osprey. As she approached, she confirmed over her radio that the CR troops at the site didn't appear to be hostile, and let her carbine simply hang off her right shoulder on its carrying strap. Over the continuing whoop of the Osprey's dual rotor blades, Levy shouted a hello to what appeared to be the leader of the refugees, an elderly man with a pack of his belongings thrown accross his shoulders, and began to shake his hand. "Thank God you people showed up," the man began to shout over the Ospreys noise, "it was hell, living in a constant state of fear, always on the lookout for government agents who would shoot me if they knew my real religion. Living in fear that my children, or my wife would be burned alive. Thank you for coming". Levy saw the pain and suffering in the man's eyes as he shook her hand with both of his, barely containing his joy. "Thank you... for saving us" he repeated, as a single tear flowed from his eye and he embraced the 6"1 Colonial Ranger in a hug. The Rangers at the base of the Osprey tensed up and flicked the safeties of thier carbines off, fearing trouble as they saw the man embrace thier squad leader, but Levy let them know it was okay with a discreet "okay" sign from her left hand. Levy felt more than a bit akward, standing on the beach in full body armour, being hugged while the soldiers of Cherry Ridge stood by and stared, but felt good about it too. This is what we came here to do, she thought to herself, this is what we came here to fight for, who we came here to save. Slowly, Levy raised her arms and returned the man's embrace, while the video feed of the event was being transmitted via satellite to the Colonial taskforce still at sea and all the way back to Democratic Colonies. The man wiped his eyes as he released Major Levy from his embrace, and put an arm around what Levy assumed to be his wife. "Okay... let's go. Everyone follow me." Levy shouted to the group of refugees as she slowly walked backwards back down the beach to the Osprey.

"Well, that certainly worked out" said Callie, as the video feed showed the last of the refugees boarding the Osprey before the Rangers piled in as well. The radio communications of the Ranger squad was also being piped onto the bridge. "Everyone settled in?" what sounded like the voice of the Osprey pilot asked. "We're all in, but it's a bit tight. Just try not to shake us up too much on the ride back and we'll be fine" replied Major Levy, as the Osprey took off. "Alright then. We've done all that we've come here to do, except for one thing..." said Captain Shoemaker, as he swiveled around in the command chair to face Callie. "The assasination of the Cardinal of Cherry Ridge" finshed Callie, as the chair came to a stop. "Captain, are you sure that's really necessary anymore?" asked the AI, winking off of the large LCD screen to pull up a situational map of Cherry Ridge in her place. "Cherry Ridge is already in ruins, and it is unlikely that they will so blatently repeat thier past attrocities after what happened to them this time." continued the voice of Callie, who had transfered herself one of the screens at the front of the bridge. Shoemaker seemed to examine the map of Cherry Ridge for a few moments before speaking again. "Yes, while Cherry Ridge has been severely bombed by the coalition against it, our original mission statement still includes either the death of thier Cardinal or a total regieme change." "Perhaps we should consult with the other members of the coalition about it then" suggested the AI, pulling up a chart of friendly forces onto the primary screen at the front of the bridge. "Well," Shoemaker said, "contact them and ask them what they think. I'm particularly interested in what the Siesatians and the Rastabastatopians have to say about it. An aerial raid to assasinate thier leader could still mean some losses for us, even with Cherry Ridge in such horrible shape."

The bombers had left the military targets of Cherry Ridge smoking in waste behind them. None of the pilots were particularly proud, but it was a mission, and they were soldiers. The two fighter wings turned and headed back to their home fleet.

Admiral Benly watched in mute satisfaction as his forces headed back, landing on the Pandora . He had led a flawless campaign here, not a single loss. Of course, it had not been without the help of his allies, and they had suffered losses. He still did not understand the motives of Cherry Ridge, or the motives of controlling religion in general, but a war had been fought about it and it had been his duty to win, he had done that. As Benly turned from the observation deck and the landing fighters, he signaled an aid.

"Send a communique to our allies. Tell them I'd like to express my gratitude for their assistance in this campaign. It could not be accomplished without them. I grieve for the loss of life they experienced and would like to note that in our collective futures, it would be my wish that war be averted. I would also like to extend formal friendship greetings and offers of alliance if we find ourselves in future conflict together. Also, send a note to the Siesatians. Tell them the offer to dinner is generous but I must decline, my troops would like to get back home to heir families."

The aid went off to send the message and Benly turned back to the transparesteel windows. The last of the fighters had landed now and his battle group was turned towards home, steaming full ahead into the dieing sun. Benly felt that to be somewhat fitting to the occasion.

All assisting government have signed the treaty as well, and all battle groups have left Cherry Ridge territory. Our allies suffered losses though, and the government of Blargistania has offered Honorary Medals of Valor to the families of the deceased as well as sending condolences. *Aboard the CNS Pax Magellanic*

"I'm a bit sad to see them go" said Maggie, the onboard AI of the Pax Magellanic as the BLARGistanian fleet sailed back to thier home port. "They were damn good warriors" agreed Captain Castille. "Perhaps we'll see them again" offered Maggie, as she began to tint the glass of the bridge windows to protect the bridge crew against the rapidly setting sun. "If we do meet again though, I certainly hope we're both on the same side - wouldn't want to go up against them." said Captain Castille, before finally tearing his eyes away from watching the BLARGistanian fleet depart and over to the LCD screen at the back of the bridge, which was being used as a status board by Maggie. "So, how are repairs going?" asked Castille. Maggie cut off a corner of the status display inorder to fit herself onto the screen. "Well, I have to say that the repair ship did an excellent job," she began, "it looks like we won't be needing them to tow us back into Balmora Bay afterall." "Good, a ship like you shouldn't have to be towed around," smiled Captain Castille. "You'll be able to go in under your own power as the people cheer us on and throw flowers on us from the Balmora skyline...". Maggie let out a short laugh - "Sir," she asked, "isn't it a bit early to begin fantasizing about the parades we'll get when we go back home?" The Captain leaned back in his chair and began to speak. "Well, I don't know about you, but I just wish I was there right now... but, anyways, enough of my ramblings. What's the status of the rest of the ship?" Maggie began to zoom in on various ship components of the Pax Magellanic as she talked about them. "Well, aside from engines being 85% functional, my power systems in general are 80% functional. 2 of my aircraft launchers are online, radars are fully online, CIWS is fully online, SONAR is fully online, all auxillery systems are online, and, ofcourse, onboard AI is fully online and operational." "Good," nodded Captain Castille, "then we're almost whole again.... It's good to have you back up Maggie" Castille said. "Well, Captain," she replied, "I'm glad that you weren't hurt in the battle."

*Aboard the CNS Pax Magellanic*

"Well, I've been waiting for this" said Captain Castille as he watched Cardinal DeVito sign the treaty that would end the conflict on the primary LCD screen of the bridge. The bright lights of the television crews and the constant bright flashes of the photographers snapping thier shots gave the scene an unreal quality as it was broadcast out the Colonial taskforce and the rest of the Democratic Colonies. Maggie, the ship's onboard AI appeared on the screen to the left of the primary. "Captain, would you like us to set a course back to the Democratic Colonies?" she asked as Cardinal DeVito stood up from signing the treaty on the primary screen. "Yes Maggie, set a course for home, best speed. We've done what we came here to do." ordered Captain Castille. The loss of 66 naval aviators, as well 27 sailors was a high price to pay for the victory they'd accomplished, but in his mind was worth it. It had to be. Castille settled back into his chair and watched the entire Colonial taskforce begin to move forewards as the last rays of light from the setting sun slowly crept accross the flightdeck of the CNS Pax Magellanic, ferrying Protestent refugees to a brighter future than the ones that they'd left.
