Allanea

High in the sky, near AMF

"1,000 km to target"

"Ready."

The 100 Howard Dean heavy stealth bombers were ready, guarded by about 200 AC-III fighters. They were safe, and they knew, it, hundreds of miles from enemy lines, protected by the best stealth tech money could buy.

Back in Allanea

"Yes. I believe that the WMD stocks, the aggressive tendencies and the insane leadership of AMF are a threat to us all. I belive we should take decisive..."

High in the sky, near AMF

"500 km to target"

"Arm missiles."

The squadron commander smiled. Today, he was going to make history.

Back in Allanea

"There's only one thing for us to do, and it is already being done"

High in the sky, near AMF

"300 klicks"

"Fire"

And even though the heavy bombers haven't entered the borders of AMF yet, each of them fires off 2 long-range missiles at the AMF airfield nearest to the border.

Back in Allanea

"I have ordered the deployment of our our Navy in the area. These are the ships that are moving out as I speak:"

"What started this?" inquired Lord Alkanphel, standing over Garrand's desk.

Garrand furrowed a brow and shifted through a handful of paper. "I.. I'm not sure," he says, scratching his head. "Toro and his boys have no idea, which is odd considering how much we know about Allanea. This appears to have come totally from out of left field."

Alkanphel pursed his lips. "Interesing. Keep the DDIA's ear to the ground and let me know if you find out anything new. In the meantime, keep quiet. I think we'll just watch this one."

The McQuaide government was already at its highest alert because of its incursion into Azerbaijan as part of a war on terrorist Azerbaijani terrorists. This conflict, however, was considered to be potentially highly dangerous to the stability of all of Europe. Therefore, the McQuaide Air Force's 8th Reserve Composite Command Wing was ordered to establish a 24/7 patrol station in the Aegean Sea, with JSTARS, AWACS, and RC-135 Rivet Joint aircraft to begin monitoring ground, air, and electronic activity on both sides. These aircraft would operate over international waters, under escort by a dozen MT-90 unmanned fighters, supported by KC-767 tankers.

OOC Heh... I was under the impression that AMF wasn't recognised as a nation by Allanea because OMG IGNORZ CRAP RPiers thread.

But hell, nevermind that. I also find Whittier acceptance of double standards to be amusing... it's ok for one nation to attack without provocation providing that it's against someone you hate. Nevermind that in a civilised world such things are seen as warmongering and crude, but hey, it's ok because AMF is a warmonger too, right?

Both nations can be argued to have agly war filled pasts, Allanea hardly smells of roses himself but nevermind that, so long as he's fighting AMF it's acceptable for him to do such.

However, most of this doesn't matter... Automagfreek is a big boy and he knows how to handle pests, if Allanea can't resist his usual level of RP, such as spontantiously finding oil under his nation so he can compete with others, then this RP won't last long and will probably result in AMF ignoring him.

It's a shame really because while AMF is a disliked nation IC for their harsh actions against nations who wrong them, OOC I repect the work done in their RP and the fact he keeps up the story telling without the normal number wank so many are compelled to do.

I shall enjoy reading AMF's part of this, as much as his nation trys to look "bad-ass" he's a good writer and it's reasonable read.

120 million????
I only used those cause AMF and DT and several of the other nations in that conflict are known to use hundred million man armies.
If you read any of my posts, you would have known I don't like 100 million man armies. Further, I never used more than 1 million. (Then I found the US and Russia each used 5 million in WW2 so that's my new limit.)

As reports of the cowardly attack upon AMF began to come in, Reaver Command in began to frantically organize forces in southern Pantera. The Lord Reaver himself was unreachable at the moment, quelling the final resistance of Pantera's savage rebellion of the past months. However, assuming command of the mobilization was the aging Reaver general, Caval the Warhound.

The Fleet of the Southern Seas sat off the southern coast of Pantera, ready to slice through the waters south, toward AMF. High above, Reaver aircraft screamed overhead. In strafing patrols they swept Panteran airspace, eager to engage any threat to the mainland.

The Warhound himself boarded his warship Plunder and began his communication to Dreadfire:

The Lord Reaver is deep in the subjugation of Teralus, along with this Azrael. For the moment, I command Reaver forces in the south. As always, I am at your disposal, old friend.

-Warhound

And with that he sat back to wait. He had a bad feeling about this situation, but knew that these cowards would stand no chance against the might of Sentinel and Reaver.

OOC: I'm going to take the damage regardless of the fact that my island is hard to reach.

IC:

Forward radar positions picked up on the launch of several unidentified projectiles (OOC: Unless you have magic stealth missiles, which nobody does), but by the time forward garrisons were alerted, the damage had been done. (OOC: Since you haven't specified which side of my island you're attacking, I'm going to assume it's from the east, the side that faces the ocean.) Within seconds of impact, AMF garrisons were mobilized and Freek naval fighters and air force fighters took off and headed towards the borders. The battleships Cemetary Gate, War Nerve, and Mouth for War were sent with a fist full of carriers, destroyers, subs, missile frigates and other craft to intercept the incoming naval fleets.

AMF strategic command began tracking a large convoy nearing Automagfreek territorial waters and began deploying accordingly. Sentinels both on the borders and inlanbd began taking up defensive positions, and costal batteries began opening fire into the sky at the incoming planes. Airspace across the country had been restricted, and reserve aircraft were activated and sent to support the fighters intercepting the inbound craft. They did not know the size nor type of craft coming, but the launch of thier ordinance all but blew their cover.

Across the sea Freek carriers began deploying their fighters in a defensive net, and several units of subs moved in front of the fleets and set up a skirmish line. On the land, tribes near the easten shores began activating their militia men, and they begna digging in behind the Sentinel forward elements. Across secure line, Automagfreek strategic command began notifying the rest of APTO about the incursion and issued a request for direct retallitory action.

Freek central command began looking over the satellite recordings over the last 48 hours, and systematically began tracking the routes of the inboud craft to their orgin: Allanea. Quite simple and effective really, and word was passed onto Lord Dreadfire. The news brought a smile to his face, because since the death of Bastien he had been looking for come combat to soothe his soul. He eagerly grabbed his things and made for Fort Spear where his entourage was waiting. He glanced over to his servant The One Who Shall Remain Unnamed and smiled. It feels good to get back in the saddle. I've needed to clear my head and spill some blood for some time now, and it looks like I'll have a little stress relief. Are my garrisons and forward elements prepared? The One glanced back under his black long brim hat and nodded. Yes M'Lord, it's already done. We expect Allanea's forces to break on our shores like water on rock, then we will take the fight to them directly. With APTO and The Ministry at our back, this should be a cake walk. Dreadfire let loose a bellowing laugh. Let's pray it's not over before it starts.

RE: Allanea

Our mainland has been attacked, and our reports trace the aggressors to Allanea. This was totally unexpected, but we here in Automagfreek are always ready. In order to prevent further damage to AMF and APTO assets, we are requesting an immediate declaration of war on Allanea by APTO. Automagfreek forces stand by to make quick work of Allanea's attacking force, and it will be only a short time before the fight is taken to their soil. The Sentinels are prepped and ready to go, and with the passing of another day comes the destruction of another empire.

Near seventy warships and their attending craft slid out of the Panteran harbors of Rona, Tyer, Gade, and Valta. The behemoth warship Plunder at their lead, flying the burgundy and blacks of the Reaver war banners. Along with the battleships and fist of carriers sail a dozen large, heavily laden troop transports.

Aboard the Plunder stood the Warhound, his long white hair blowing in the wind as the fleets came together some thirty miles east of Pantera. Spirits were high as they sliced through the cool black waters of the sea, ever further from their homeland.

Reports from Automagfreek and the Panteran homeland came in regularly, and the Reavers became ever more furious with what they heard of the cowardly attacks.

Allanea had made a grave error, and the Warhound intended to teach them a lesson on the meaning of the word horror.

-Interesting. Who is this new nation of pakrahs?
-We know nothing of Allanea.
-Very well. Monitor the situation. We trust that AMF has sufficient strength to crush such an attack. Besides, we are presently busy dealing with those stupid nations Tersanctus and Imitora and, quite frankly, we are not sure where AMF stands on that issue.

Out at sea, the First Naval Fleet of Sigma Octavus cruised. Aboard the SOHC War, the order came from higher up that Lord Damien Dreadfire had called upon APTO to respond against Allanea's attack against AMF.

Admiral Foranth, aboard the War sent the new coordinates to the rest of the navy, including the other three Horseman class carriers, the Famine, Pestilence and Death.

There were two End class super dreadnoughts with this fleet, the Gehenna and the [/i]Ragnarok[/i]. They stayed in tight formation with their carriers, as well as with the rest of the fleet. 53 ships in all turned towards Allanea, prepared to fight for APTO.

Among the fleet were 10 Paramount class multi-purpose carriers. Nicknamed 'invasion-in-a-box', they were fully prepared for deploying troops to fight in Allanea.

The four horsemen were riding, and none would stand in their way.

The Imperium stands ready to make your counter-attack against the Allanean scum and their Accord allies much easier. We propose to attack and destroy any and all Accord naval assets in and around Haven. However, in order to do this your defense must be successful and an APTO counter-attack imminent. Be warned, our sattelites show a Predator class ship in your area, which is a poor knockoff of a Doujin class. They have little to no maritime engineering experience and if it were not for the outriggers they would have all capsized by now. Our intelligence suggests that the outriggers themselves are secured by many, but still feeble, round crossbeams that could not possibly stand up to combat. Even if they are not, the Allaneans no doubt made the mistake of bolting the outriggers to the hulls, which would make the huge main guns impossible to fire if the ship lost even one of its outriggers. It should be obvious what is necessary to defeat that infernal death trap.

OOC: On the map, AMF, I assume you're the big white space sandwiched between me and Pantera?

IC: "Bad timing." Minister of the Military Black said as he pointed at the map on the screen. "That's part of the bad thing about the advance of communications technology. We can generate and gather almost any information we need and send it across the breadth of the world in a heartbeat. But we can't do anything about it."

That was true. President Halvent conceded. Adejaani had always been a Technocracy, which placed significant emphasis on technology and science. Over the years, the whole country was essentially a technological powerhouse. Voting and the government was run by a secure internet. Indeed, to dispel against crippling strikes, the government was essentially dispersed. The ten major cities each housed a different portfolio (Ticonderoga, the capital was where the President was, but Black was out near the coast, Foreign Relations was more inland etc) to ensure the government would survive.

"We know what we can't do. I can see that our Navy is deployed westward. And Pantera's Fleets are bottlenecking the northeastern approaches to AMF. What can we do?" Halvent asked as she scribbled on an old fashioned paper notepad.

"Air power." Black replied, using controls to highlight a number of air bases. "You might remember 'Project Omaha', Madam President. Dispersal of the government and final defense of the homeland. Those air bases you see highlighted still contain bombers and fighters loaded with all sorts of air to ground ordnance to blunt off any land invasion.

"If you'll refer to the regional map, it's only about four hours' flight time to New Genoa. Might get a bit dicey having to fly over AMF airspace and we'd tax our pilots and refuelling assets a bit, but we can launch continuous air attacks. Or at least attrit the Allanean naval components to a stalemate."

Halvent nodded. "But their naval force is basically all carriers and all submarines. How does that work?"

Black pursed his lips. "Probably arrogance. I haven't seen the specs, but I'm guessing they're battle carriers, madam President. With lots of missile batteries to keep off any missiles. With that many flight decks, the air and surface threats can be minimised and the submarines, of course, can clear the submerged threats and launch cruise missile strikes. One thing I did worry about was their lack of support.

"Simply put, a carrier, as big as it is, is weapons and spare parts intensive. Planes going up and down need to be repaired and fixed and they expend a lot of weapons in combat. It doesn't matter how big a carrier you make, it's a corrollary. You need lots of aircraft for a punch, otherwise the carrier's useless. They probably couldn't mount an extended campaign. They'd probably last a month without resupply and then they'd have to retreat."

Halvent nodded. "Get to work."

=====================================

From: President Halvent, Adejaani
To: Lord Damien, AMF

To our good friends. We have analysed the situation... We have concluded this will be a war of attrition. If there is one thing people forget, it's that aircraft need lots of maintenance and weapons to be fully effective. Without resupply vessels, Allanea probably couldn't sustain combat for more than a month, or so my Military Minister says.

As such, due to the closeness of our nations (geographically and symbolically), we ask that you allow our aircraft overflight of your nation to begin attrition airstrikes when they come into range. Our conventional naval forces are on their way back east, but won't make a big difference. We stand ready to nibble them away slowly.

We wish you good luck and good hunting.

Most interesting. I can assure you that Automagfreek can easily defend itself from Allanea's attacking forces, and I can assure you that the coutner attack will swift and severe.

However, my beef is not with this "Accord" you speak of. Unless they get pissy and decide to back a nation that has clearly instigated this fight for no reason, then they too will be destroyed. But in the meantime, we will take the fight to Allanea and Allanea only. We will removed this cancer from the face of the planet, and those that stand in our way will suffer the same fate. Believe that.

[ooc: You guys that have been posting in the first few pages of this thread really need to cut out the OOC bullshit. If you’re not going to participate IC, then get out. I’m tired of a possibly good RP being ruined by the OOC misgivings of a few.]

ic: Emperor Alexander Traiden looked the report over. The AMF situation provided a long, if not melancholy, break from the constant information bombardment concerning the Eurydian Civil War.

Traiden rubbed his temples and shook his head. On the Emperor’s desk Samson Usea had planted both hands firmly, and his look was as grim –although somewhat more amused—as Alex’s.

Emperor Traiden put the report down. “Haven’t we been here before? I feel as though I’ve read a report like this a thousand times.”

Samson smirked slightly. He took a seat across from the Emperor, tossing back the long strands of gray hair with a furtive swipe of his right hand. “That’s because you have,” He said, amused. “Nations are always vying for some kind of recognition, and our good friend Dreadfire and AMF are certainly recognized. If you topple the giant… you’ll be famous.”

A bemused expression crept across Traiden’s face. “Perhaps I’ll never understand why nations need to blow each other up. Earth may be a beautiful place, but this, however, is where it becomes ugliest.”

“What should we do, m’lord?” Samson made as if to stand, his eyes looking attentively at his Emperor.

“Prepare our forces for combat. We don’t have much to spare at the moment, but there’s never an excuse for abandoning a friend.” Alex tapped the surface of his desk with his fingers. “Call up the 1st Legion, and prepare our Autonomous Cruisers for immediate departure. This is something the Eurydian Republic must not know about.”

“But why, m’lord?” Samson asked, retaking his seat.

“If the population were to find out that we were allocating Eurydian resources for the defense of a country as far away as AMF, there’d be outrage. We have to help them…we just can’t let anyone know we are.”

AMF, whatever assistance you need, it is yours. Our legions are currently mobilizing, and we’ll be ready to support you as soon as you give the word.

Indeed, I would share your opinion, if it were not for the fact that the Imperium and its UnAPS allies were in a war not long ago with Allanea and what has become the Ali'staan Accord. I can guarentee you that they will make it their business, because they stand to loose several fleets based out of Atlantic Island and over 200 divisions based in the Allanean mainland if Allanea is taken down. However, if you do not wish the Imperium's active help, then an offer of safe harbor and basing rights for your aircraft and troops to attack Allanea will be open for the duration of this conflict and you have my personal guarentee of safety for your forces should you decide to stage them from the Imperium. OOC: Whoa there. So, what 'damage' exactly did my craft do? I mean, there's 100 bomber launching missiles here.

IC: The planes turned. At 300 km from the AMF shore, there was little harm the shore installations could do to them. Still, one particularly unlucky escor pilot misjudged his location and flew too near the coast. Withinn seconds, he was fried by the flak cannons.

In the meanwhile, a missile satellite far above AMF activate. It fired half it's capacity of EMP missiles at AMF defensive facilities. Some where programmed to detonate when they hit the ground, some in the air to cheat ABM weapons. Then, the other satelites fired. When the last of the missiles (OOC: 100 sats is what I have, ten missiles per sat = 1,000 misisles) was fired, at least 100 AMF major defensive facilities were targeteded, mainly ABM and airforce bases.

George Forzando, the Alllanean general in charge of the satellite system, smiled. "See how they like *that*".

Poseidon Naval Yard
Poseidon, New Empire Oceanic States

It was like looking at some of the greatest technological achievements of New Empire in one convenient location.

The massive Posiedon Naval Yard was a floating base, similar to the one Unum Veritas fielded. However, the UCSNE had done this long ago, as part of colonizing the seas. Floating 'cities' and underwater mines dotted the NEOS as one small part mobilized for war.

It was the home port of the 5th Armada, sporting 3 New Empire class super carriers, the Adejaani, the Liberty Fighters and the ThirdEye, the Armada was set to join up with the 4th and 6th, and move towards AMF to support them against the Allaneans. If their offer was declined, the vessels would turn back.

It would be a massive force considering the UCSNE's past forays, the largest deployment since the 2nd Markovian War. But it was not a private affair as the Markovian war was. No longer was it two small coalitions, not even 7 nations involved in the whole thing. Now, should the UCSNE enter this war, they would be on the world stage in a war between two titans.

The weapons were much changed from that last foray. New aircraft, sleek and deadly, sat on and below the decks as upgraded anti missile systems scanned the skies. Most of these men had no combat experience, the extensive training and simulations all they had to rely on. Hopefully, as in past times, it would be enough.

Sovernski was a very old man, and he had seen a lions share of war. He had seen the footage of the Sentinals, of AMF's training doctrines. But what was Allanea's purpose in this war? Surely if Artitsa added its weight to the conflict, they would win. But at what price? Early intelligence reports indicate at least 20 to 40% ground losses, if not more. The war would have to be won in the Air, and with Scandanvian States, as well as APTO supporting AMF, that greatly sours the situation. Especially since Sovernski had several friends in APTO... clearly Artitsa had positioned itself on the wrong side in this one. But Sovernski didn't want to leave his Accord ally high and dry... what to do.. he breathed deeply, the words he next spoke could make or break him.

The Congress of Representatives debated over the more elegant disses in the declaration of war, sounding like a bunch of Paraisians with thier snottyness. There was no swearing in the declaration of war, just well constructed insults that were aimed sharply for Automagfreek. The debate raged on for hours, and finally a text was selected; it wasn't liked much by the leadership, yet the Congress enjoyed it.

Cowards, picking on small nations as a bully picks on children smaller than him; this is how we see Automagfreek. We shall be the good school teacher that punishes a bully for his wrongdoing, spanks him, and sends him home to his parents. We have looked upon your cowardly attacks on nations that are outnumbered in population by your army, and we ask: what honor is there in fighting something you can not lose? It is our way to take risks, our way to gamble for our betterment. But your nation?

Your nation is a scumbucket bereft of all honor. You attack nothing but small nations, and because of your cowardly slaughtering of those who can not fight the mighty fear you, as they should treat any large standing army. But we do not cower as a small nation is absorded by you. We revel in our anger until it explodes, and it has exploded.

With this anger we will hunt out and destroy any AMF soldier, tank, jeep, aircraft-anything-until the last of our people die. There will be no surrendor. There will be only one nation standing, us or you. No tie. It is here that we bid you adieu. May the battles we endure against one another be forever remembered as honorable, glorious, and wonderfully blood soaked. It is our intention, if you were unable to guess, to declare war, and we have declared it.

With the note passed on, all the notable political leaders fled to nuclear bunkers for saftey, and the military took over. In charge was High Commander Alex Francis, a tall stick of a man with pale skin, jet black hair, and blue eyes. His bespectacled face showed no sign of fear; if he lost, the glory in the battles he fought would overcome the shame of defeat.

He had called before him all of his military leaders, every last one of them, and he was now wading in and out of the crowd planning military operations. Attacking here, defending here, all of it was well laid out in his mind. He expressed his plans to nearly every leader, and it was thier job to pass it down to the least important grunt.

He had called for a massive air attack to destroy the enemy airforce, followed instantly with an equaly massive artilery attack at bases, highways, bridges, and all routes of entering the selected beachead. He was going to aid the Allaneans, and had to do it damn fast by cutting of routes for the defending legions. Tens of millions of men, the Confederacy hadn't seen that type of war since the Fluffy-Drum Gods conflict. Or was it the Bisonic blockade? He couldn't make up his mind which came last. He did know that it was a long time since they had fought such a massive war.

His direct subordinate in the Navy, Admiral Akira, was quite excited about the conflict. Fighting an entire alliance, risking it all in a bid for power. He was unsure of how the attacks would go, but was absolutely sure that this would be a turning point ins omeone's history. As his superior approached, he removed happy thoughts of dead Sentinels and wiped a smile from his face. He saluted H.C. Francis, and the High Commander returned it. "What is it you want to discuss, my commander?" The Commander spoke his reply robotically: "Here are your orders, Admiral, and may the wind be in your sails. Good luck." Before the Admiral had a chance to speak, the H.C. handed him a stack of papers and left for the Air Force and Army leaders, behaving similarly.

After the meeting, the Admiral studied the orders in his hotel. Reading just the first line, it was obvious he would enjoy this very much. Following an air campaign, send the Grand High Seas Fleet into the area surrounding AMF and launch airstrikes on any and all bridges, rail-road tracks, highways, and means of transporting troops. He knew there would be an air campaign, but it was merely mentioned at the meeting and the paper never went into detail. The size and scope of it was unknown, but he hoped it was soon. Reading deeper into the papers, he knew that after his initial strikes he would get to see his dreams of dead Sentinels come true. Turning out the lights, he slipped into bed and fell asleep dreaming happy thoughts.

Meanwhile, General Granger was another story. The tall, burly man hardly looked like an Air Force leader, but the AF took up his heart and soul. The light haired, blue eyed man was organizing strikes around AMF, and he had to do it quickly. He had ten of what was know to the Confederate airforce as a Flying Tricycle, a group of three bombers. FT msiled many people, some thought it was a bomber, but he knew better. All of his FTs were B-2 bombers, and he had to make the most of them.

He decided the 1st FT would fly toward the AMF capital and bomb whatever command buildings were there. His 2nd, 3rd, and 4th would hit the major power producing areas of AMF with graphite bombs. The remaining FTs would hit a major industrial city's infrastructure. Have aligned them, he set off to planning other bomb attacks while he ordered the currently plannned B-2s to attack.

OOC: More to come later, am in sort of a rush.

"Approaching AMF waters, Sir!”

Admiral Kerensky, commander of the Allanean Navy, sighed. He has long claimed that the Navy was underpowered and unbalanced: too many aircraft carriers, to few cruisers and battleships. In fact, only one battleship – the USS Allanea. This did not bode well for the United States of Allanea. But, of course, Congress didn’t really ask him when voting on the military budget. He spoke. He implored. He begged. But that was their decision. And now, his troops would pay the price of other people’s stupidity.
Sometimes the Admiral really hated the Navy.
“1,000 kilometers from AMF, sir!”
“Are you dumb or something, Sailor?” replied the Admiral. “How the hell can you call one thousand fucking kilometers “approaching?”
Nevertheless, 1000 kilometers was important as it was a map waypoint. Starting from here, at least some of the ship of the Strike Fleet where beginning to take part of the action. The Admiral opened his laptop and pressed several buttons. The strange-looking face of a young man appeared on the screen. It was Johnathan Sverdlovsky, commander of the Charlton Heston attack submarine. The man’s face was strange when he was born, but the young man, who was a Star Trek fan, made even more so, having undergone plastic surgery to look like a Klingon.
“Captain Sverdlovsky,” said the Admiral, “here are your orders. You are to proceed to coordinates […], where you you will meet up with the submarines Stephen Harper and James Madison. You must use routes as different from each other as humanly possible. This point is within 500 kilometers from Forbidden Isle. When you meet up with the other submarines – and only then – you will proceed, as ordered, to strike targets on Forbidden Isle with cruise missiles. You, not the captains of the Harper and the Madison are officially responsible for this mission. You will only fire after receiving an explicit order to do so and a list of targets. Is this understood?”
“Yes, sir!”
“Good. God Bless Allanea” The Admiral shut down the connection. He never liked Trekkies. That’s why he gave Sverdlovsky the mission in the first place.
The second face on his screen was George Gates, commander of the Aissur attack submarine. “Captain Gates, please receive your mission. You will proceed towards Freeksburg port. Meet up with Destruction and Insanity four hundred kilometers from the port. Obviously, follow the safety guidance about the different routes.I want the boys back alive.” Actually, the person who Admiral Kerensky wanted to come back alive was George Gates – he was having an affair with the man’s mother, and he new she would never forgive him if Gates didn’t come back. He shut down this connection as well. Even though these variable-frequence encoded transmissions where quite nifty, he never completely trusted them, and so preferred to keep conversations short. But then, right now he he had a rational reason to shut down. He had other people to talk to.
Like Frederick Arnold, commander of the Obliterator aircraft carrier. “Hi, Fred. Listen to what I want you to do. Take the Obliterator, the Eagle Scout, the Moshe Feiglin and the Incinerator. I want you people to go, together, none of that “separate routes” crapola, to that peninsula on the western shore of AMF. Ya know, the one with the the beach.”
“Gotcha”
“You will also take the Ted Nugent, Jay August, Alex Norton and the James Madison…”
“What, the sub?”
“Screw the sub. I mean James Madison the chopper carrier. Anyways, contact me for orders when you’re off the shore. I can’t tell you the details now, but you’re the one establishing the beachead.” He turned off the laptop. ‘That’s what you get for sleeping with my wife, you fat redneck scum.’
Then he issued one more order, his last one for that day:
“The other ships stay with the Predator. Set course for Mako Island.”

In a bunker in Allanea

Pavel Nikolski stared in amazement at the Senators. “You declared war on WHOM?”
“Oh, shut up, old fuck. We’re the will of the people.”
“I can veto this.”
“No. You’re not vetoing shit.” A handgun appeared in the hand of the Senate Minority leader. Before Nikolski could draw his own gun, he fired three times, twice at the man’s chest and once at his head. The old man slumped to the floor. His glasses, wrecked by the last shot, fell of, and lay next to him, splattered with blood. Pavel Nikolski, the Acting President, was clearly and obviously dead.”
“Just goes to show,” said the Minority leader, wiping the fingerprints off the gun, “that you do not fuck with the will of the people. Tell the papers that an AMF assassin polished the old fart off.”

Allanean Air Force HQ

Angel Jones was smiling. The Allanean Air Force was nothing like the navy, and if there was anything he was confident of, it was that the AutoMagenFreekens were going to get their sorry rear end handed to them on a silver platter.
“Here’s what I need you people to do. Get the Charlton Heston Air Armada off the ground. Give each of them two 500-kg high-explosive bombs, one Limbaugh-class EMP bombs and 2 air-to-air Slander EMP missiles. Also put in two extra fuel tanks. Don’t use any of the external hardpoints – we need the stealth to cheat the radar targetting device Send them against the Panteran fleet. Send the Howard Deans along, all 100 of them. They’ll carry five 9-ton anti-ship bombs each.”
“But, General, it’s about one thousand one hundred planes!”
“Not about. Exactly one thousand one hundred planes.”
“Why should we send this size of an armada against a fleet this small?”
“It’s not that small. Besides, I want it blown off the face of the earth – or should I say the sea?”
And the General laughed.

Fox News, Allanea

Today, we’re forced to announce, with great sadness, that Pavel Nikolski, the Allanean Presidential Advisor and Acting President, was assassinated by an AutoMagenFreeken terrorist. Worry not, citizens! Vengeance will come!

I am most shocked that Fluffywuffy, a longtime friend of the Empire, would do such a thing. But you have made your decision, and there is no turning back now. I will enjoy putting your children to the sword, and I will do it slowly nad painfully. Take one last look around, heathen bastards of Fluffywuffy, for it will be the last time you will see your pretty little surroundings intact. I will see you soon.

Allanea, we are most surprised that you would make such a bold move. Your damage to the AMF coast was severe, but not as severe as the damage I will do to your. The massive war engine that is Automagfreek will pillage and burn your pathetic nation into dust. I suggest you start praying to whatever God you believe in, because I will send you all to se him.

And I suggest you do do not start using EMP weapons, as I know you have quite a stockpile. Use just one and we will retalliate with a full on nuclear strike. With the efforts of all the combined nations supporting me, there is no way in hell you'd survive. I'll see you soon.

It was time for the Foreign Minister to offer his two cents. striding to the podium, Jay Reaven clears his throat and looks out to the assembled crowd. He is wearing a T-shirt which reads "I Killed Damien Dreadfire," the letters obviously placed in such a fashion so that one could read them while the man was standing at the podium. Clearing his throat again, he begins:

"Hello," he starts, bowing his head slightly to the various press agents who were seated before him. "As you know, the United States of Allanea has recently initiated an attack on the sovereign nation of Automagfreek. While none of us in the Imperial Government exactly like mister Dreadfire and his band of slack-jawed cronies, Allanea's awe-inspiring stupidity must not be allowed to go unpunished. It is with this take of the situation in mind that I say this: any Metus member nation, seeking to actively help Allanea in this war will be ejected from the alliance and will cease receiving the benefits of our union. Being that one of our founding tenets is the elimination of the weak and thoughtless, this shouldn't be too hard to understand. While the Imperium will not be participating in this conflict, we will offer AMF our political and moral support. Thank you."

Stepping down from the dias, Reaven flashed a grin to the camera, and was promtly gone. As was typical for most such "press conferences" in the Imperium, he did not take questions.

As the keel of the Plunder sliced through the waters, the Warhound finally gave the order to turn south. These cowards had made a terrible mistake in the choosing of their enemy, and the route in which they would attack.

Once his fleet was far enough south, he would turn them back west, toward AMF and the enemy fleet. He would use his force as the hammer, and the shores of the AMF mainland as his anvil. He would crush the enemy fleet closer to the shores of AMF, eliminating their mobility. It was a good plan, he decided, as there was absolutely nowhere to run to. North, West, and South was the Allied Powers, he himself would sit squarely across their pont of retreat in the west.

High overhead a swarm of Panteran fighters screamed by, carefully screening against any attack from the air, while beneath the surface incredibly sensitive sonar swept the depths of the ocean, careful for any cowardly attack from beneath the waves.

In the sky: Reaver Command this is Warwind three, Warwind three. We have something... Unsure of radar readings, possibly stealth... Reaver Command! Multiple birds confirmed on attack route, scrambling to intercept. Requesting air support from carriers.

Aboard the Plunder: Warwind, this is Reaver Command. Order to intercept confirmed, reenforcements lifting now. Do not commit your entire force to the dogfight, but keep a squadron aloof, to defend the fleet. Drag the Waters.

And with that, the swarm of Reaver pilots climbed high above, their extra amospheric engines allowing them to skip along the highest reaches of the earth's pull before plunging back down into the blue of the oceans, near on top of the incoming swarm of ships.

With a hundred streaking gouts of flame and smoke the Reaver fighters opened up on the closing bombers, and horror came alive in the skies over the APTO.

Such an unwieldy amount of aircraft could only harm the Allanean assault on the fleet, the Warhound knew, and his pilots would cut their sally to gory shreds. His own pilots swept in among the great swarm of the incursion, their Berserker fury taking them and their aircraft into the swarm. Wether they shot through the cloud of metal and men or were destroyed amongst them, the furious an lightning fast assault of the Reaver pilots could only begin to tell on the Allanean assault.

The Hound ordered his ships to break formation. His captains knew their business, and the great warships split from the battle line into a large number of smaller, less vulnerable pockets of ships. While most of the Allaneans were doubtlessly too high to be effective, the Hound ordered his AA guns to begin their strafing of the skies.

AntiMissile precautions were brought onliine, but most had no faith in their effectiveness. Rather, they trusted their Reaver brothers high above to keep the fight from them until they got close enough to annihilate the Coward Convoy, as Reavers aboardship had begun to laughingly call the Allanean Invasion.

Aboard FRBS U-108, off the shores of Automagfreek

Men aboard were getting visibly drunk, celebrating the return of Lord Harald from Valhalla, though the captain remained tense. The radio-man, with a bottle of vodka in hand, approached the captain.

"Herr Captain, wanna shot?"

"No. Someone needs to remain sober on this ship, and it better be the captain." He looked into the periscope, at the Allenean fleet they were shadowing.

"Your loss."

"In case you havn't noticed, we're in a warzone. We're Bonstock's eyes and ears, if we get drunk and die, we'll be dragging Bonstock into a conflict I don't think we'd like to get into."

"Oh, lighten up a bit Captain," said the torpedo operator, perfectly drunk. He pressed the fire torpedo button. A torpedo streaked from the sub towards the Allenean fleet.

"You dipshit! I'm gonna have you court-martialed for that! We've just given ourselves away."

Suddenly, depth charges started going off. "DIVE DEEPER!" The captain yelled, but his crew was too drunk. Finally, the took the controls himself, and the sub dove to safety.

Angels and Demons, unleash what you may. Send these bastards into the abyss. We are to proceed just north of the Panteran fleets and move in a giant wall towards the Allanean shores. Surely Sigma Octavus and company are close by now, so let us take to the skies and seas and defeat this menage. Barked Warchief Zander. The War Nerve continued transmitting to the varous other battleships, and the comunication was interrupted by General Brinks on the Cemetary Gate. I'll take the point poisition, with Zander and Lord Damien close behind. Use your fighters and subs in supportive role, and my raft will take the brunt of the sea campaign. Once we get to Allanean waters, we will commence mine sweeping and then start the bombardment. Let's do this.[/i]

The fleets took to the high seas with the Automagfreek coast fading in the distance. Hundreds of transports followed inbetween the Mouth for War and the War Neve, while Brink's units plowed forward. On board the transports, thousands of Sentinels seethed and brooded, all too earger to get their payback. Fellow Sentinels, it was on this day that we were attacked by cowards, and it will be on this day that yet again the Sentinels will spill their blood. This is the moment you have been waiting for, a half way decent opponent. After we quickly squash the Allanean armies and pile thier bodies high, we will move onto Fluffywuffy, and then onto any other coward that supports them. We will not stop our rampage until our task is done and Allanea lay in ruins. A swarm of lucusts is about to decend upon their people., and the gods know them as Sentinels. Soon my warriors, soon.

The words from Lord Damien did all but stirr and agitate them even greater, and Dreadfire knew this. With APTO and allied fleets all around them, the massive convoy moved forward.

Garrand nodded in turn. "Order the Second Fleet to mobilize. Staff the Hithlum and the Gothmog as well and make sure they're good and ready in 72 hours. I will contact regional Air Force stations to coordinate fighter cover."

The operator jots a few things down on his datapad. "Anything else?"

A wire came up to the deck of the []iMouth for War[/i], Damien's battleship. He picked it up and gave it a once over, then did a double take and read it again. You've got to be shitting me..... uttered Damien. His First Mate readthe message, and immediatly his mouth went agape. It read:

Our sources are telling us that the Imperium of Melkor Unchained is on high alert. They are activating one of their several fleets as we speak.

Damien knew Alkanphel was a dirty scoundrel, but he also knew that the man could keep his word. I doubt we have cause for concern. Judging from some of the remarks Mr. Reaven has made, I don't think we have anything to worry about. A strange situation indeed, we will see how it unfolds.

Damien watched the satelltie footage of the Panteran fighter slicing into those of Allanea, and issued and order to General Brinks. Increase speed, and you near the Panteran fleets I want you to deploy a scourge of fighters to back them up. A crackled "Aye" came over the airwaves as the convoy sailed on.

***

With the Cemetary Gate closing in fast, Brinks ordered his fighters deployed and his countermeasures activated. The subs beneath the waves spread out as well as the destroyers and missile frigates. The Cemetary Gate sailed in front of the 2 carriers that were placed in his unit, and he watched from the bridge as planes soared off the deck.

Things had gone considerably worse. Sovernski signed deeply. AMF was now heading towards Allanea. He had a few options still available to him. 1) Continue on, and reap havoc on the interior of AMF. 2) Send the Airwings to dismantle the AMF fleet. 3) Use the subs on route to sink the AMF fleet. or Finally 4) send a second fleet. He sat there for several minutes pondering. The President still did not know what was occuring, but Overdanski would no doubtly not care. He usually left his Generals well enough alone. Sovernski made his decision.... he would send 8 AMS-84's to intercept the AMF fleet. He would have AM-96B Anti-shipping missiles placed in each VLS cyclic loader. Meaning each sub would have 144 AM-96B's. 1152 missiles should do, especially when their only aimed for the transports. Now the trick was to make it seem Artitsa was completely innocent. Easy enough, he would have the ships route from their southern neighbor, Fluffywuffy. He picked up his phone and dialed Gamchov, West Fleet Admiral.

The EB-9C Megafortress III, or "Dark Raven", looked like something out of a sci-fi special effects extravaganza. The thing had paralells with a Lockheed Martin FSA design, but the Americans would never recognize their paper bird now, at least specwise.

Shrouded engines were taken from F-125D fighters, and were a sort of hodgepodge of technologies, conventional turbofans with hafnium assistance. The big bomber even had forward canards, AAW, and a lifting body skin for manuverability that was great for a bomber.

All these thoughts raced through the mind of Major Patrick McClannis as he went through the preflight of his 3 person crew aircraft.

Pallas Athena systems checked out. Would the famous supercomputer driven TSCS be enough to mask them from enemy radar? There were some viscious stories of the EB-9 run in Markov going sour when the Markies started using several frequency cycling radars, and supposedly they overheated the system.

So did the IR systems, flickering skins and blurred edges designed to confuse IR guided weapons. They'd never been used in combat.

The payload of the 'mini missiles' was done. The little buggers were supposed to be able to provide missile defense for the individual aircraft. His EB-9C was an 'Arsenal Ship', being loaded with as many air to surface missiles as possible. If there were too many enemy fighters, it would be up to how much little bird support APCOM gave them, and the four 'Battleships' that had everything from Long range AIMs to EW systems.

The Panterans were rumored to be making a bloody mess of the Allanean bombers, or so the Sky Eye's in Geosync said. There were several of them in orbit, watching over the APTO. They had been trained to fight without them, but McClannis and everyone else liked to have an angel on their shoulder.

The 24 aircraft roared from their hardened and underground shelters into the skies. Once in the air, McClannis checked through his 'flock' to make sure everyone was there and in formation as they traveled west, over AMF airspace for a point, towards the Allanean fleet. At that point it went radio silent, only the laser beamed intersquadron communication, and the databursts from satellites. Pallas Athena systems hummed to life, tracking incoming radar signals and giving the appropriate signal back to cancel it out or give doppler systems the impression of blank air. Should that fail, the RAM coating and stealth design should keep their RCS smaller than that of a B-2's. Should.

Optimism had trouble finding a place in war.

"M'lord, Damien has not replied to our last communique. Perhaps he is not interested." First Sea Lord Sun Tzu oppined.

"The man isn't stupid, he should know an advantage when he sees one. It makes me wonder if anyone has shown the man a regional map, he would see that Helsinki is close enough to Atlantic Island that he could easily launch an assault against the Accord's fleet base from there. General Skye, I want you to shift your medium bomber wings to Stockholm and disperse the larger bombers along the eastern cities. General Gustav, I want your airborne divisions at Black Sands AFB as soon as possible. Also, I want at least half of our army at the Axackal border ready to drive through and kick Allanea's door in, I doubt it will be necessary but the possibility exists. General Kerensky, your airborne units are to join Gustav's at Black Sands and the rest of your Marines are to go north and prepare for embarkation. Sun, not to put too fine a point on it, but I want your fleets prepared to bitch slap the Accord's naval units and that means attacking Atlantic Island. Officially I want this noted as preparing for a UnAPS exercise, which is true enough because the same units that we intended for that exercise will be used here.

"Don't fuck this up, we do not want to look like incompetent fools and that means first and foremost no blustering or rheteric involving the Accord. Let them get nervous, but don't even breath the Accord's name and this deployment within five minutes of each other unless absolutely necessary. In fact, make the orders the same as our exercise orders and be prepared to cut new ones at the last minute and only if Dreadfire wants our assistance."

The Location of the Panteran fleet

The Allanean pilots approached the Panterans from a semi-circle, quickly drawing the noose of death on the neck of the enemy.

“Lock, established”

The first Howard Dean heavy bomber made a pass over the enemy vessels, dropping out his deadly cargo of nine ton anti-ship bombs as it went. It seemed it was almost safe – until two Reavers appeared behind the large craft, swarming on it like jackals on a lion. The last words of the pilot were not words of glory or patriotism. When three enemy missiles ripped apart the body of the plane, the pilot uttered but one word:

“Shit”

Most of the Allanean pilots agreed with that tactical assessment. Though they still had something they could do about it. Immediately as the first Coulters started plummeting out of the sky, a rain of Slander EMP air to air missiles started, covering the sky over the Panterans in myriads brilliant flashes. But, still Allaneans were dying.

Allanean Airforce Headquarters

The Airforce commander looked in shock as he traced the battle from computer screen. Each Allanean plane has a GPS system and ELT transmitter in it, enabling the officers back in the rear to know when and where it was shut down – and every pilot suit tracked his heart beat, so that his family would know where and when it stopped. Right now, the laptop was showing the list of those hearts that would beat no longer.

Alex Kovalic
Cordell Shamaya
Wayne Lechowsky
Andrey Johnson
….

And the list went on and on. Twenty-five fighter pilots, five bomber pilots were dead, and the battle was far from over.

The Location of the Panteran Fleet

Charles Johnson, an Allanean fighter pilot, sped out from the fray. It seemed he was fleeing. He ascended as high as he could – to avoid the flak fires and the blast of his own weapons. He moved as high and as fast as he could, until he approached the Panteran fleet.

“Ree-haw!” – he dropped out both high-explosive bombs he was carrying. He probably would miss – but then, the rest of the air armada folowed suit, passing over the fleet and dropping all they had over it. Yes, that cost more lives – some shot down by surviving Reavers, some by flak fire – but when it was all over, about 1,900 500-kg bombs and 430 9-ton bombs were dropped at the enemy navy.

Allanean Airforce HQ

The Airforce Commander grew pale as he watched the names list grow longer. And longer. And longer.

Stephen Harris
Dave Clinton
Theodore Semezky

Thirty more fighter pilots. Twenty bomber pilots. Fifty ruined families. There’s only one thing he could pray for – that these people ruined even more Panteran families.

Allanean Army HQ

“Sir? We have bad news for you.”

The Senate Majority Leader – now the commander in chief of the Allanean Armed forces until the election would take place – lifted his eyebrows.

“According to sattelite surveyllance, we have a huge AutoMagenFreeken fleet coming our way.”

“It’s nothing.”

“WHAT?”

“Listen to this…

On board the Stephen Harper

Captain Oleg Lewis, the young commander of the Stephen Harper , was worried – even depressed. He loved the Navy. He took pride in his office, his submarine, his mission. Sure, he was aware of what his fellow Navy officers thought of submariners. He viewed his service on board the Charlton Heston as a way to bring glory to a branch of the Service which he felt deserved it. Howevr, what he felt today was hopelessness. Was he going to bring that glory back home? Was there going to be any glory? Or just an unknown, watery grave in the abyss next to the AutoMagenFreeken shores? God only could tell.

Allanean Main Fleet Location

It came to them by surprise. Only as the New Empire missiles roared, wiping crews off decks and ripping decks off ships did they begin scrambling their craft – and then, only a fraction of the force could be scrambled. Still, 250 Ann Coulter Mark II craft were a threat to anything that flies. Each carrying 10 air-to-air missiles, they launched a wave of fire ar the enemy bombers.

Meanwhile Kerensky was receiving the loss reports: “Two ships heavily damaged, fifty aircraft destroyed, two hundred men dead.”

He swore and shook his head as tears rolled down his face. “The fools! The rotten, rottent fools!”

Allanean Army HQ

“We will move the 50 divisions protecting the Kyzyl-Orda border, and everybody protecting the Axackal border to the shore.”

“Three quarters of the ground forces?”
“Yes. The coward commies at the UNAPS are to weak to attack now. The shores are our first priority. So we’ll put 150 divisions on the northern shore and 50 on the south western shore.”

“I see, Sir. Should we activate the Accord RDF?”

“No, not just yet. Better than that, tell, me, how many Abul Abbas launchers we have per division?”

“One hundred, Sir.”

“Perfect. Just perfect.”

Immediately, in various areas of Allanea, the units start moving.

“Go! Go! Go!”

The troops rush to their vehicles, and towards their positions on the shore.

"Sir, nearing Allanea."

The Admiral looked ahead at the mass of land in the distance. This would be the first engagement of the Horsemen, and he was determined to show that they were money well spent.

"Send word to the Paramounts. Tell them to get their landers geared and manned. I want everything loaded onto those. Tanks, troops, everything."

He looked out the side view window at the End class super dreadnaughts. "Also, get the Ragnarok defending the Paramounts. Have the Gehenna stay on course with the Horsemen."

He looked across the massive flight deck of the War. "Also, scramble the Tigershark pilots. I want them out there if things get messy. Relay that to the Horsemen except for the Famine. I want the Barricudas on that ship up and running. As well as their supply of Stormblades."

Standing like a rock on the deck of his great warship, the Warhound barked orders. The deadly payload of the Allanean bombers continued to fall about his fleet, some exploding above the waves, some detonating deep in the waters.

Several massive explosions drew his eye, and he blanched at seeing the destroyer Savage Henry heave in the water, a fiery tongue licking from a gaping hole in her deck. At least two other ships were very heavily damaged, with many other smaller wounds to a few carriers. The Hound cursed his coward enemies. He began recieving reports of ships targeting short circuiting from the EMPulses of the Allanean payload. It was hindering with the targeting of his own AA guns, and guidance systems and for a moment he considered ordering them to cease fire, but no.

Still, though, naval warfare was the business of the Reaver, and had been for over a thousand years. His battle line had long since disintegrated, and the mostly concentrated payload of the Allanean bombers fell to the ocean and air without finding purchase. His scattered battlegroups of carriers, battleships and behemoth Panteran Warships spread ever further, all the while filling the skies with more aircraft and AA fire.

High Overhead...

The Panteran pilots chattered constantly, jeering and laughing as again and again they plunged into the fiery mass of Allanean craft. They had lost many of their number, but they had given far more than they had recieved. The concentration of the Allaneans allowed his own fighters to sweep amonst them and unload. Even being destroyed they managed to inflict damage upon their foes craft.

Another Reaver fighter exploded in a scorching burst, the flaming wreckage carring onward into a group of withdrawing fighters. Although the numbers of the Allaneans were beginning to tell on the smaller squads of Reaver pilots, they knew they only had to hold until...

Reaver Command, this is Pheonix three, closing fast on your position. The Mainland mobilizes, and urges us to take the fight to our foes. Permission to intercept?

The Warhound replied quickly: Permission granted, Pheonix. Good to see you. Drag the Waters of War.

And again, the upper atmosphere came alive with Panteran fighters swooping down into the fray. At least two hundred more fighters, they plunged into the Allanean strike force, allowing weary or damaged craft an opening to withdraw. Some fourty-five craft had been destroyed, another two dozen damaged beyond any further combat readiness, but their glory was much, and those who remained alive were further envigorated by the Honor of their fallen brothers.

These bastards of Allanea had come for war, but were only prepared for defeat.

"YEAH! Stick that in your pipe and smoke it, baby!"

"Shit, NPI is picking something up. We're getting readings from the UHR doppler sat in orbit."

"Motherfucker. Well, this is it. 250 Ally fighers, Coulters maybe. Fuck."

The obscenity chorused throughout the squadron as the 4 'Battleships' began to open their bay doors. 248 Pheonix Slayer AIM-95D long range missiles screamed from their bays, reaching Mach 7 as their IR/LIDAR and MMWave terminal guidance radar systems guided them towards the Allanean fighters, with deadly intent.

The sky lit up in a scene worthy of a Japanese space opera, hundreds of mini missiles tracking the Allanean missiles. In a sort of twisted way, the hardening and redundancy of the bombers actually made the EMP equipped Allanean missiles no more deadly than their conventional counterparts. UCSNE made F-109D in the service of Doujin had supposedly done well. A bright flash, brighter than those of the SLID mini missiles lit the skies, and suddenly the cockpit went dark.

"Shit, man. They just EMPed us. Backup systems coming online."

McClannis watched as the number of mini missiles began to dwindle in the flickering displays.

"Okay, the basics are back up. Dammit, I can't get Pallas online. We're dogfood man. The ARVS and Pallas are down."

Patrick grunted acknowledgement as the swung his bomber around with the rest, hitting Mach 2.5. They just had to make it to AMF. A loud whine, followed by a sonic boom and a WHAM! was heard, and the crew looked to their left in horror as an EMP missile flew into the engine of a comrade, not only wiping out the one it hit directly, but shutting down the others. As the hot fuel fire burned, and the RAM was burned off, the miniscule RCS of the EB-9C skyrocketed in size, along with the IR signature. Like wolves to a wounded deer, McClannis gaped in horror as what seemed like two dozen more missiles slammed up the tailpipe of the aircraft, ripping it to shreds and peppering the wingmates with high velocity shrapnel. Sucking in the bits of metal, one of their engines went out and fuel lines to it were cut.

McClannis checked the comms. The flight leader was dead. As the next down, he activated the transmissions, radio and all. Who gave a damn if they would be found? It wasn't as if they weren't spotted already.

"This is Dart Five, Actual, UCSNE, to anybody down at AMF! We're taking fire and need an airstrip! I say again, we need somewhere to land!"

The hail of missiles seemed like it was starting to come to an end, thank God. Only 1/4th of the aircraft had survived, all were damaged, and some had ejected. But would anybody answer their call for an airfield. They had been cut off from the AMF situation during flight. A lot of things happened very quickly during war, and hopefully they would not doom McClannis and his men.

[I'm going to advance this a couple of hours just for the sake of it, it shouldn't affect current RP overly much.]

The Imperial Marines had practically arrived at Helsinki when their orders were "confirmed". Equipment was embarked and the soldiers waited, it would be at least a day before they were ordered to embark themselves unless something changed. Scuttlebutt had it that this deployment was not for the exercise but was for something else very real, and as always it was dismissed as the imagination of some hyperactive Private and as was almost always the case, there was quite a bit of truth to it. Had they known the 1st and 2nd Imperial Fleets were sliding north to join the four other fleets already near the northern coast, they would have believed it. But the new fleets were not seen and the rumormongers were not believed.

The Imperial Army, to its credit, had almost been in place when word came the Allaneans were moving away from the border shared with Kyzyl-Orda. A weakness was perceived and an exploitation of that weakness was sought. The Imperial Air Force, owners of the sats that had given the Army the information it so craved, had enough perceptiveness to begin moving transports to the western portion of the Imperium.

The Imperial Air Force, in that same fit of perceptiveness, had started moving almost all of its fighters and interceptors west. The new NPI radars and Pallas Athena systems would come in handy if it became necessary to engage the Allaneans, no matter what the Allaneans claimed their air force was not up to the task of dealing with such aircraft, not many air forces in the world were. The Imperial Air Force would also readied its SF-28 Phoenixes, just in case the Allaneans decided to get cute with their missile satellites.

Lord Melkor, evidently, had changed his mind. Either that, or Reaven's statements were meant to confuse, and he intended on doing this all along. No one was sure, but it didn't matter.

All across the Five Kingdoms, kinetic missile tubes--hidden in some of the larger mountain ranges around Gorgoroth and Anfauglith--received fire coordinates from Angband, and swivelled into position, pointing to Allanea. All 1,545 of them. One by one the missiles streaked into the sky, streaking through the thick black clouds with growing speed. Inexorably they sped towards their targets: airfields, supply depots, and power stations, mostly. The strike was initiated with the intent of crippling Allanea's ability to sustain a long-term operation overseas. Allanea's fleets near AMF, surprisingly, were not fired upon by these missiles: instead they were left to their fate for the time being.

The Second Fleet was by now approaching battle readiness, but in the meantime the Fifth and the Seventh were called off patrol and redeployed to the front. The ships fell into battle formation, with a fighter screen in front. Gunships slipped beneath the waves, travelling in tandem with the fleets above, but out of sight.

Marshal Compounds across the country began to assemble and ready their troops: most of which [for this operation at least] were Southron Guardsmen and Easterling marines.

In orbit, Imperial satellites shifted their trajectories subtly, taking them over Allanea every 90 minutes or so, to keep an eye on things.

Field Marshall Inhelvask stood above the Allanean airfield, hands tucked behind his back. He chewed the cigar between his lips. General Sovernski had briefed him of what was occuring. Inhelvask knew the fight would come back to Allanea, as it always does. He leaned forward, resting both arms on the railing around the control tower. He counted the numbers in his mind; 28 AC-240's, 4 KC-240's, 2 A-50 AWACs, 32 Su-37-900's, and 66 JF-20's... not nearly enough to hold off any air assault. He wished Lieutenant Bodransk had stayed and not been recalled. He would have known what to do. But when he left, so did the hundreds of S-500 launchers, and now Allanea was left to its own Airdefence. Only the 912th Air wing remained of what Artitsa had commited in the defence of Allanea in the war for Axackal. How unfortunate. He wished he could see his daughter, but he knew that when AMF came... "Sir, SkyEye01 reports massive landing ships imbound. Your orders?" It was a young Allanean flight officer, under his charge.
The information hit Inhelvask like a ton of bricks, there wasn't much he could do. Those subs Sovernski had sent were still a day away. He looked down at the AC-240's.... they would have to do.
"Have your men load my AC-240's with 18 AM-96B's each. I want them all in the air, within 30 minutes, got that?"
The Allanean nodded, and backpeddled out of the room.

--30 Minutes later--
The 28 AC-240's moved into formation, 1400km from the Sigma Octavus fleet. Not long now. 12 JF-20's flew along their flanks, while 22 Su-37-900's were above and below. About 10km's back was SkyEye01, keeping an eyeout for enemy aircraft. Surely they will detect the Artitsan planes by now, but no matter. There would be no chance they could scramble in time to stop this. The AC-240's reached 1100km's, the AM-94B's extreme airlaunced range. Each AC-240's bay opened, and slid back inside the hull. The 3 rotary launchers cycled, dropping missile after missile, screaming towards the Sigma Octavus fleet. Red-06 had a severe malfunction. The final missile failed to disengage from its clamps on the rotary launcher, and finally its engine engaged, propelling the missile through the aircraft and shattering the cockpit in a fiery explosion. The other pilots whispered a silent prayer, sobered by falling debree. The 503 Missiles that remained dropped down from their original altitude of 30,000 feet, to 18m. The high speed created by the drop enabling the Scramjet to kick in. Slowly the missiles dropped down to 8m above the ocean. 4 of the missiles altimeters failed, as they slammed into the ocean at mach 3+. 600km out, the missiles continued to speed towards their targets. SkyEye01 began assigning targets to each system. They would impact soon, and being armoured against 30mm CIWS not much could be done to prevent their impact. 499 AM-96B's moved into their final attack stage.

18-07-2004, 22:28
The Freek pilots looked on in awe at the sky, now blackened with fighters on both sides. Attention, Bravo and Delta squads, take up position on .04. Gamma and Alpha, stay on my tail. The thundering hoard of Freek planes spread out and took up their attacking positions, preparing to plow headfirst into the chaos. Lock on, fire at will. With that, the Freek planes broke into small squads and began sighting in their targets. The skies filled with a slew of missiles, and after their initial attack they broke up yet again and began a very aggressive dogfight.

Missile and bullet alike pierced the air as the Freek planes dodged their Panteran counterparts and hit the Allanean menace hard. Several planes were splashed early on, but the Freeks struck hard regardless. With explosions and death all around them, they continues to pour on the heat. Surely the Allanean commanders were feeling it as well.

On the waters, the massive convoy trudged on, spreaing itself out further and further. The transports remained securely in the middle, escorted by variety of missile frigates, subs, and destroyers. The main battleships stayed in the lead while Freek subs widened their perimeter, scanning the water and ocean floor for any sign of movement.

Sir, it appears the noose has been drawn. Sigma Octavus closes in on Allanea, Pantera continues to destroy the attacking forces, and we are quickly bringing up the rear. We also are expecting some very unusual help. Dreadfire nodded to his First Mate, well aware of the situation at hand. How are my garrisons? The First Mate read over his reports and gave and assured answer. The entire country is on lockdown, and all our defensive resources are activated. Our homeland is secure, nothing is getting in.

Damien stepped into the deck of the Mouth for War, starring off in the direction of the now darkened sky. Dreadfire knew that those black clouds were the brave fighting men of Pantera and Automagfreek, and he did not doubt them for one second.

Over the Panteran Fleet

“Drop the EMP bombs”

And nine hundred Limbaugh class electromagnetic pulse bombs drop out towards the enemy.

The Panteran and AMF reinforcements would be very effective – but the key clause is would.

“Let’s get out of here.”

The Allaneans turn, raining EMP air-to-air missiles on the enemy, proceeding at top speed towards Allanea.

Allanean Airforce HQ

The Allanean airforce commander swore out loud. The list of the dead on the screen was getting longer, and longer, and longer.

Twenty more dead. Twenty more….
But when he saw the enemy damage report, he started smiling.

Main Allanean Strike Force

Kerensky smiled as he saw the feeble remnants of the enemy strike force retreat. There was one thing to do, and one thing only. “Get me the Squadron commander. NOW. “

“They are now defenceless. Go after them. Shoot them down with your Vulcans. Don’t let them escape. Let not even one of them get home. Not one.”

On board the USS Insanity

A sailor’s diary

“I don’t know what is happening outside. Nor do I want to. We lost all connections to the outside world. The Captain says it’s because of the EMP bombs they are using up there, but I’m not sure. What if they are nuking each other? In that case, I don’t want have connection. And if they are not and we are kicking AutoMagenFreeken ass – which is probably the most likely variant – then I’d rather stay here till it’s over. I don’t know who was that dumbass who got our nation to this, but I know one thing for sure: it wouldn’t have happened if the President was around.”

Allanean Airforce HQ

“Commander, should we send someone out to deal the the Sygma Octavus fleet?”
“No.”
“Why, sir?”
The commander of the Allanean Airforce smiled. “Our Artitsan allies are already dealing with it.”

Official Allanean Government Announcement

Given that the Automagenfreeken tyrant known as ‘Damien’ has refused to surrender, we will now offer a reward to the sum of one hundred million allanean dollars for bringing him in alive, and fifty million allanean dollars for bringing him in dead. If, for moral, religious, or other reasons you wish to receive payment in resources or currency other than allanean dollars, we will be glad to furnish you with payment as close as possible to your needs

Emperor Alexander I Larsen was tired, a few hours of dealing with domestic matters was nothing compared to war planning for the same amount of time. "Gustav, where do we stand with the western deployments?"

Gustav himself didn't look too pleased, "HAEKO has said no and the Edolians have said no, but HAEKO did bring up the point that Corrheia is right next door to us and has nothing more forceful than a radio to issue a protest with. We could, and probably should if we intend to take this to Allanea, slip our field armies through Corrheia and begin beating the ever-loving crap out of any forces there. We can keep attacking and retreating or we can stick it to them, either way my air force colleagues can pound the shit out of the them from the air while we hold the line on the ground."

General Skye nodded, "Aye, it'll mainly be strike aircraft and the like while the heavy stuff hits Allanea's northern shores, but it shouldn't be too much of a problem taking down whatever resistance they manage to put up. Their aircraft are taking a beating around AMF and there isn't much in the way of an Accord air presence in Allanea anymore."

"And I suppose you want me to commit to battle the second AMF's allies show up, m'lord?" The question was asked in a manner that indicated the First Sea Lord was resigned to committing his entire navy to battle and knew it wouldn't be a pretty fight.

Alexander just looked at the man with remorse and said softly, "Semper Victoria, Sun. Always Victorious. Do not make a lie out of it now, not when it matters most."

Sun nodded and said, "As you wish, m'lord, I shall take my leave and join the fleets to command the battle myself. I hope to see you again."

Every man watched with deep respect as the man who administratively commanded the Imperial Navy went off to do it for real. It was more than the Emperor would ask of any of his branch commanders, but he would deny none of them the honor should they so choose it.

Reaver Command, they scatter before us and our Sentinel brothers! Permission to pursue?

The Warhound grunted slightly and sent a curt reply:Granted Pheonix. Pursue them into Allanean airspace. Destroy those who turn to fight, but do not let yourselves be cauth up in battle over their territory. We will take the flame to them soon enough... The first concussion of an EMP bomb shut his radio down and caused an AA round to veer wildly off course, nearly slamming into a fighter that was slowing for a landing upon a nearby carrier. He snarled and ordered someone to rebot his electronics. It would only take a minute, possibly two, but he was still nervous.

And with that the fist of Pheonix squadron climbed. High into the uppermost fringest of the atmosphere. Here they swept along. Close on the Allaneans retreating heels, they pounced at stragglers and raided the flanks of the sagging line of enemy aircraft. From their shadowing formation they would sally forward and chew at the flanks of the Allanean formation before drawing back and allowing their fellow Reavers to sweep down from above.

All across the theatre of battle, Panteran flags waved signals to one another. A few retained control of AA systems, but nearly all of their radios were gone. The Hound snarled another curse and ordered those carriers with fully loaded fighters still aboard to get them airborne and into formation for patrol. The Reaver fleet was vulnerable for a few short moments, but with their attack force in full retreat, and no fleet in the area, their air cover would doubtless be sufficient...

Far away, on board the Predator

"Do we have the coordinates of the Pantera Fleet?"

"Yes, Sir"

"Get the Samsons ready."

"Yes, Sir!"

"Fire!"

The Predator-class Battleship launches only 100 Samson long-range cruise missiles. With a range of 6,000 km, they'll hit the Pantera fleet. Good enough

On the Allanean nothern shore

As the Allanean fighters arrive, the commander of the Allanean Air Force smiled.

“Here they go.”

And the shore comes alive.

Thousnad of launchers spit forth both regular and EMP ground-to-air missiles. 20mm machineguns fire at the invaders. And to add to the nightmare, the PSYOPS units kick in.

PSYOPS Command

“So we can broadcast on the Panteran frequency now?”

“Yes.”

“Give it to them”

From that moment onwards, the following music is head by any Panteran fighter pilot near Allanea:

“Hey Alllanea

IC: The ground in Allanea shakes as thousands of orbital launched kintetic damage impact the ground. The Allanean Arms central oil refinery is obliterated, and 50,000 Alllaneans are killed. Also, all of Allanea's RT-1707s craft are obliterate. The missiles also hit and destroy several small villages, probably due to faulty Melkorian intelligence efforts.

The radio was silent. They had not answered. McClannis tried the radio again.

"Dart Four Actual, to any APTO airfield. We are heavily damaged and need a landing field. We will authenticate if necessary. I repeat, UCSNE aircraft requesting aifield."

"Shit! More incoming!"

There were 6 New Empire bombers left, with half spent loads of missiles. And suddenly, over the datalinks, the voice of a pilot was heard.

"This Major Vorster with the 442nd Fighter wing. You guys need some help?"

The famous air combat wing, with the best the UCSNE had to offer, was inbound from New Empire. The "Valkyries" were the most skilled and well equipped unit in the nation, fighting in every war where the Air Force had.

"Damn, you beautiful bastards. We got maybe at the most 250 Allie fighters on our tail, less because we empited our Nintey Five Dees into them. Go get 'em!"

288 aircraft, F-125Ds and F-121Ds, all traveling with Pallas Athena on to avoid radar detection. With active NPI radar, the Allaneans could not use RWRs to track the radars to their source. Each carried between 8-12 medium to long range air to air missiles. The first wave came, AIM-95D Pheonix Slayers, the same missiles the 'Battleship' EB-9Cs had already launched to weaken the Allanean forces. As the fighters closed, the F-121Ds stayed behind to provide additional long range cover, and then leapt in to engage with MREAMs and cannon. The F-125s variable geometry wings went from the swept back position to forward swept, their leading and trailing wing edges bending with the AAW system. This combined with the thrust vectoring would give them an edge over the more conventionally designed Ann Coulters in terms of manuverability as they began to dogfight and fire medium range and short range weapons.

Chasing down the bombers would be something the Allaneans would regret in their campaign.

International waters

The 4-6th Armada, with 9 Supercarriers and 1800 aircraft between them, was sailing towards Allanea. The reports of the bomber raid were grim, but they had struck a blow to the Allaneans, against over with odds 10-1 in the enemy's favor. Expectedly, they were nearly wiped out. But the systems had performed well. And the resulting followup was sure to make them regret chasing the bombers home, the crew thought.

Now they were ready for attack, their systems online as they moved to the Sigma Octavus fleet.

As the radar came back up, the Warhounds aides began shouting to take cover. Undisturbed, he listened calmly to them as more reports flooded in. They were tracking a volley of missiles heading in. Fools. He thought. Better to use those missiles on the mainland. Now the idiot commander had wasted them.

As the first of the missiles sliced downward, a few of his aides ran for cover, but the Hound only watched, content to wait it out. The first explosion was the largest. The AntiMissile systems of the Warship Stone tried to come alive, but still the aftermath of the EM pulses still interfered, and the great ship went up in a roar of flame and the screech of rending steel. At least two miles away, the Warhound watched with deadened eyes. These bastards would pay for this.

Still the group-and-move tactics of the Reavers continued to defy the targeting systems of the Allaneans. While a few of the missiles found purchase, the coordinates of the 'fleet' were vague at best. The entire Panteran fleet had scattered over a span of roughly thirteen square miles, allowing ample distance between the small pockets of ships.

When the hail of missiles finally cease, the Warhound recieved his damage report. Five other ships had been severely damaged, but were still combat-worthy, only the Stone had been sunk, but numerous other craft suffered minor problems.

Still, though, the Panteran fleet was now safe for the moment, and as their systems came fully on-line, the Warhound ordered his own volley of cruise missiles fired. Roughly 100 'Lesser', short-range cruise-missiles are fired, along with a scattered volley of 'Major' ship-killer cruise missiles, but the payload is in the five remodeled SAtmosphere missiles. Extremely accurate against extra-atmospheric ships, the technology had been applied to inter-atmospheric targeting systems, resulting in a pinpoint accuracy. They used AMF satellites overhead to target the invading fleet's carriers and let fly, only five in number, they were almost assured to find purchase.

The Panteran pilots in Allanea thought the song a piece of shit, and claimed it to one another over the radio. Though the stupidity of Allanea rankled, the Panterans were too smart to pursue them deep enough into Allanean airspace as to allow a counter attack, and once the homeland defenses of their enemy came up, they hurriedly climbed out of their reach and screamed back towards Pantera. Still, before they reached Panteran airspace the damned EMP of the Allaneans had taken six more of their brave pilots.

The air battle seemingly over, the Reaver Pilots were pleased. They had inflicted far heavier damage than they had taken, and they had driven the cowards out of AMF airspace.

They swept overhead, intent upon the Allanean assault force.

Tropical Navy (6 carriers, 3 Battleships, 8 Destroyers, 7 Crusiers, and 5 nuclear subs),
30,000 Powerful Tanks (M1-41 Abrams, Leopards, Tomahawks, Crusaders, and Paladins),
and 10,000 Peacekeepers for your mainland.

Allanea, all I can say is use our forces wisely. We don't expect them to lose all of them, especially our 1 million troops. Good luck, my ally.

Melkor, again: I ignore all ground-launched kinetic missiles as missiles at this speed would reach escape velocity. I will acknowledge such missiles only assuming they are orbital launched. For example:

IC: The ground in Allanea shakes as thousands of orbital launched kintetic damage impact the ground. The Allanean Arms central oil refinery is obliterated, and 50,000 Alllaneans are killed. Also, all of Allanea's RT-1707s craft are obliterate. The missiles also hit and destroy several small villages, probably due to faulty Melkorian intelligence efforts.
OOC: Perhaps like the ICBMs proposed in the 50s, they are weapons that do reach escape velocity, travel in space like ICBMs and then release the kinetic weapons, with some kind of Scramjet boost if necessary?

With the Allanean fighters retreating, Damien gave to order for all vessles to speed ahead full bore. Dozens of Freek planes returned to their carriers and were immediatly sent below deck for repairs. The fleets were now close behind those of Pantera, and the Allanean coastline was closing in. Soon they would link up with Sigma Octavus, who undoubtedly was beginning his attack run bu now. With the damage done by Melkor's surprise attack, there was little doubt that a combined Reaver and Sentinel charge would be the final nail in Allanea's coffin.

With their formations tight but somewhat spread apart, the Freek vessles continued onwards. More planes were launched off the decks of the carrier to provide security for Pantera's fleets.

(OOC: Sorry Artitsa, my internet crashed while I was writing this. I just now got it back up. And I don't ignore stuff unless it's all out godmodding. Like if you launched nukes out of those. But missiles are okay.)

"Sir! Missiles incoming!"

"Get those Barricudas and the Death's Tigersharks off after those planes. Throw every piece of anti-missile defense we have at those things."

" 400....450.....499 missiles. We won't be able to stop that many."

Every ship in the navy capable of anti-missile defense began to lock onto targets. The fleet was woefully under-equipped for that many missiles. There was a single anti-missile ship in the fleet, but it only had 200 Mk-92s (high-maneuverability anti-missile missiles) that it could launch. The Mk-92s had longer range than any of the other anti-missile weapons among the fleet and launched, covering the deck and water surrounding the ship with smoke.

The Barricudas were taking off from the Famine as fast as they could. These were the fastest planes in the SONF, and would reach the enemy planes faster than the Tigersharks.

The Gehenna slowly accelerated out of position and began to move in front of the Horsemen. It wouldn't make it by the time the missiles hit.

(OOC: This is going to hurt me a fair bit. Those MK-92s are pretty effective, but can only take out 200 missiles max. The front of the fleet is made of smaller ships, destroyers and stuff like that.)

[since Allanea decided to take the attack, I'll continue. *ahem*]

Columns of thick black smoke trailed the Imperial gravhips as they flew, reminiscent of the smoke that issued constantly from Thangorodrim: dark and foreboding. The hum of their drives could be heard for miles as the massive hulks plodded through the sky inexorably towards their target. Travelling with the two fleets were Sky Furnaces Gorgoroth and Glaurung.

Onboard the Gorgoroth, The Imperial Sky Marshal hailed AMF and allied forces. "This is Sky Marshal Roland Petrik of the Imperial Dominion, travelling with the Fifth and Seventh Fleets out of Angband. I'm here to help. One hundred and two warships are en route to destroy the Allanean advance, and we'll be on the scene ETA 4 and a half hours. Will attempt contact again once we are within firing range for target data. Hope there's still something left for us to shoot up," he adds with a snicker. "Petrick out."
Adejaani
19-07-2004, 01:05
"Yes, dammit, yes! HE-incendiaries. Maybe... Bloody hell! Just make our first strike already!" Nathan Black raged into the phone. The Adejaani military had taken far too long gearing up. Defense of the homeland first. That involved dispersal of the government and activation of Project Basilisk. Shaped like two football fields side by side on the long axis, they were essentially the same as the Vertical Launch System on board Navy ships, writ large and without the space constraints. There were almost a hundred of these sites scattered on the mainland, each holding about a thousand missiles, for anti air and anti missile defense. There were about a hundred other anti-ICBM and smaller mobile air defense sites.

"Yes, madam President." Black held the phone to his ear as he waved to the screen. "The battle seems chaotic. But we don't have any assets the Allaneans can attack. Everyone's got things closer. We currently have two hundred A-6G Ultra Intruders with High Explosive-Incendiaries. Mop up, mostly. They're going after the Allanean Fleet. We have about another hundred A-6's going after the ground troops. Yes, madam President, we've issued orders to be careful of the Panteran Reavers tearing into them. And yes, madam President, I realise that the use of three hundred A-6's counts as the bulk of our heavy strike fighter force. But they have the range. Yes, madam President. They'll be striking their targets now."

In the air, the A-6's sped southeast at just under the speed of sound. Pilots flexed their fingers nervously after almost four hours' flight time as Bombardier/Navigators poked at their screens while targetting information was uploaded. Unlike the older models which served in the Vietnam War, the "G" model was far more advanced. Coupled with satellite and AWACS support as well as a complex onboard AI, a pilot could tell where their bombs were going to hit, if any plane had missed its target, so another could make a target run. If they could find targets, they could hit it until there were no more planes and no more ordnance... And there was plenty of both.

Copy that Petik. Our ETA is not quite as long, but once we arrive we will lay siege to the Allanean coastline for some 45+ minutes. Then we will put on our protective goggles and watch as you torch them straight to Hell. We will take care of any shoreline emplacements, and after your ships get done burning them to a crisp, we will commence a mass landing. We will swarm their beach so fast and so hard they will not know what hit them. Zander out.

-Warchief of AMF Forces-

Onward the fleets trudged, the retreating Allaneans now distant and out of sight. AMF vessles were now running side by side with Panteran forces, and the seemingly unstoppable armada moved on. Damien opened his secure comunications channels with the Warhound.

Melkor Unchained.....the very name makes by blood boil. And unusual day, is it not? For who would have thought that both Reaver and Sentinel would one day be fighting alongside Troll, Orc, and Easterling? I certainly did not think this was possible. My Sentinels are most hesitant to trust them, but I am assuring them that everything will be fine. I guess the old saying holds true: an enemy of an enemy is a friend, eh? Your thoughts Warhound?

Damien waited for his reply, and as he did his thoughts trailed off to Azrael. He wondered how the lad was holding up, and he knew that he would have wanted to be in this fight more than anything.

High overhead, and hopefully without attracting too much attention, Vrakian satellites were tasked to monitor the conflict and to gather as much information as possible on all combatants. The satellites weren’t told to alter course, indeed, that would be an unnecessary waste of fuel and would shorten the sat’s lifetime, but only told to passively pick up information – such as intercepting any messages and to take the occasional picture. The information gathered would be, at best, spotty, since they would be passing over the area in their usual fly over. Just as several nations do the same every day over the Klatch and other regions of the world. With so many satellites surrounding the earth, it was believed not to be a difficult mission to carry out.

OOC: If the main participants, AMF and Allanea don’t want this, then that’s okay with me.

With a cold, calculated aloofness, the Sketchian InfoNet kept a close eye on the proceedings. No move was made by the state itself when hostilities insued. In fact, no move had been made at all up until this point, and it would most likely remain that way. AMF had proven themselves to be more than resilient enough to fend for themselves, and even more so, Sketch was not in the practice of associating with those who could not handle their share of rabble rousers.
Pantera
19-07-2004, 01:24
The Panteran transports were largely intact, and they steamed in the center of the flexible 'Deep-Wind formation, secure from any attack. Caval's Plunder fronted the line alongside Dreadfire's Mouth for War.

He considered Dreadfire's message for a long moment before replying: I'm sure that Lord Bastien would have disapproved, and that the Evenstar will when he gets ahold of us. But, for the moment I command Panteran forces in this conflict, and I say it is best to use a crude bludgeon to slay an enemy, rather than a glass sword. These beasts will serve us well, for now. Let them war alongside us, but do not forget the lessons of the past. These are not to be trusted.

Word from Teralus was that Dayne and Azrael were knee deep in blood, and would be unable to join in the assault on Allanea for at least another twenty four hours. The Hound hated that his Lord was not there to witness the great victory they had won in the skies, but he knew that once the Evenstar took command, that Allanea would begin to smell the stench of their own fear. He had told Dreadfire true about the situation with the Darl Lord. Long had Pantera and Melkor disliked, and hated, each other. The Evenstar would probably spit at them, but he hoped that his Lord would remain calm, seeing the merits of an agreement with the beasts, if only temporary.

A jittery servant enters the Messenger's chamber, as always aware of the almost palpable aura that surrounds the area.
"Ah yes, you are here to brief me on the Freek/Allanean war, no?"
"Indeed, Lord," the man squeaked.
"And...?" Yorinaga looked at him expectantly, with a hint of annoyance on his face.
"Oh!" and the man composed himself, continuing, "As you know, the Allaneans we have heard of before. Their blatant piracy on the moon, our application, etc. AMF, Pantera, and the Vala we have had no prior dealings with, despite your request for a close observation of their activities, but they are, for the most part, the victims in this conflict."
"Excellent. Militarily, what's gone on so far?"
"The Allanean assault was quite feeble. They have been driven back to their shores-"
"Already?" The Lord queried with slight amusement. The man, sweating somewhat obviously, gave a nod and continued.
"Yes, lord. The Vala's fleets have already launched several missile strikes, and a Freek/Allied landing is imminent."
"A right band of weaklings, if I say so myself."
"There is...one other detail, lord, concerning the Whittier Pact."
"Those scum? I suspect they are attempting some sort of half-assed alliance to bring down the Freeks, despite the fact that they already outnumber them." Taking his cue from the servant's little nods of assent, he continued talking.
"Well, our main quarrel with the Allaneans is the Martian North Pole. Send out a message to the anti-Allanean forces, giving our support, yada yada yada, and offering any aid necessary, including wiping out the remnants of the 'Allanean Stellar Navy'." As the man half-ran out of the room, Yorinaga gave a disgusted look, and began writing a note for a replacement.

Lord Harad gazed anxiously at the television, which bore news of the war on AMF. He called upon an aide, "Do we have any forces in the region?"

"Yes. A submarine. U-108."

"Very well. Have them moniter the situation."

"My lord, need we take action?"

"No. Not yet."

"Do we know who is to be victorious in this war?"

"I don't, but I know of one who does."

Harald, son of Gustav, lord of all Bonstocknians, exited the room. He drove out of the city of Port Yuko, to a mountain that stretched unto the sky. He climbed it, and reached the summit in an hour. Then he gazed into the sky. The Northern Lights were out. Harald called out, "Who's there?"

A voice came to him, as the north lights grew bright. "What do you wish to know, Lord Harald of Bonstock? For it is I, the Valkyrie Brunhildr, who you know already."

"I wish to know who it is that our nation should support: AMF or Allenea?"

"I cannot tell you who will win, but I offer you advice. Support the side who's cause is right."

"But who is that?"

But the voice faded, and the Northern Lights grew dim. And Harald stayed there into the night, thinking to himself. Finally, he came down. Bursting into High Command, he ordered his generals and admirals, "Mobilize at once, but we may join this war soon. I want a fleet and an army ready at midnight, for whether we win or die, we'll support he whose cause is right..." and he uttered a nation's name, and all heard him, but respoke it not.

The First Sea Lord, upon arriving in Stockholm, heard almost immediately of the Allanean defeat and the fact that what was left of the Allanean naval force was retreating back to home waters. "Send Harrington and her 4th Fleet, we'll see how the Allaneans fair against our navy once and for all. Relay to the capital that the Imperium is about to join the battle, the Air Force might want to ready its fighters."

While the other five fleets began patrols with orders to sink any Allanean ship that entered Imperial waters, 4th Fleet raced to meet with what was left of the Allanean task force, such as it could be called. Harrington's flagship, a Leviathan class superdreadnaught named the Halcyon, was admittedly not a match for the Predator class Harrington was leading an expedition against, the twelve Ryuho class BCGNs that were part of 4th Fleet would mangle it. The Ryuho class were the first to speak in the battle, each belching out thousands of capship killers each at around two thousand miles, it was a sight to behold. The missiles streaked up on a ballistic path up to the outer edges of the atmosphere and at the end of their run began falling almost vertical upon the various carriers and the Predator, but mostly the Predator, at a speed of more than Mach 10. Each of the missiles, havin a 4,000 pound HE warhead, were perfectly capable of killing most thin-skinned warship on their own, but no one held such delusions about such a huge warship and it was judged that the use of so many awesomely expensive missiles would more than make up for it when the Allaneans lost on of their precious Doujin-wannabes.

[Allanea, that Predator had damn well better die. I don't care if you don't lose any other ship from this attack, there's no way in hell that bucket of bolts could survive as many missiles as I launched at your "fleet". Oh, and to understand just how many missiles I launched at you, multiply 12*96*12.]

The Confederacy was a mess of activity; militia groups activated, mothballed ships being restored, and everything that could kill something being prepared for the comming storm. The High Command knew that if Allanea fell the Confederacy would fall too, and that is what set them off. Satelite imagery had shown a fleet setting course for Allanea, and HC was worried.

High Commander Francis was directing everything he could get over there over there, and it was not a peaceful operation. "I want the fucking troops the hell over there-yesterday! If those bitches can land on damn Allanea, our asses are toast." His subordinates scrambled to follow thier orders, tripping over one another, yelling, cursing, but getting the job done.

Commander Takeshika of the 1st Confederate Army took command of the Confederate-Allanean Expeditionary Force (CFEF), and he was not a conventional warfare leader. The Confederacy had long before switched to guerilla warfare, and the CFEF was no exception. They were modeled on the ultra-succesful Executive Outcomes force in technique, and included only 200,000 men. But they were an amazing 200K men; hand picked for excelent combat records, experience, comradery, they were the Confederacy's elite.

Flying in to Allanea with thier miss-matched group of transports, Raysian, Fluffywuffy, and others, they would be the first troops of the Confederacy to fight and die in the war. High command hoped to have millions within days, but they were the special first. They would do little until the AMF forces hit the shores, other than build special tunnel networks, but aside from that they did nothing but say thier prayers.

Austar Union

The Republic of Austar Union
Anatoba City, Presidential House

President James Madison looked over the reports that the Allaneans had chosen a path of suicide, to attempt an invasion of Automagfreek. With the likes of Pantera, and even Melkor Unchained being involved on the side of Automagfreek, there was certainly no way the Allaneans could carry out an invasion, much less a defense of their homeland.

The Austar Union had neutral relations with all parties, nevertheless, although once relations with Pantera had been strained, the governing parties were strong supporters. At the same time, the Austar Union had only negative relations with the infidels in Allanea, once being in a state of war with them.

Snorting, he smiled and shook his head. He knew the Allaneans were stupid, but he never thought they'd be suicidal. Pulling out a pen and paper, he drafted a quick comment on the events that were unfolding, and that were about to unfold in Haven.

We pledge our diplomatic support the the likes of Automagfreek, Pantera, Melkor Unchained, and all the others aiding. We would offer military assistance, as we have for a long time now wanted to stage an invasion of Allanean Territory, however we think it unnessasary, and that your forces are more than capable to handle the situation. However, should you require further assistance, considering the addition of Fluffywuffy, and any future allies which may jump in against you, please dont hesitate to call upon us.

May our forces not be large compared to the likes of you, but they are fierce warriors, able to push back upon enemies more than twice their size. We are proud to hold the title of having killed over 1.8 Million Allaneans, for only a few thousand deaths of our own, and we would only love to increase that number.

God Bless. We know you can do it.

Signed, President James Andrew Madison.

The battlechatter was reporting casualties. The anti-missiles had been half-effective, taking out 95 of the missiles. 18 vessels at the front had been sunk and a few missiles had gotten to the middle of the group. Their burning hulks were slowly sinking into the ocean. Fires raged across the deck of the Pestilence surrounding a hole blown in the flight deck. A number of craft in the middle were damaged including the Gehenna which had several craters in it's side armor. It had taken a missile in the radio room, and was billowing thick black smoke high into the air. The only contact with the Gehenna was through a portable radio someone onboard had been carrying with them.

Aboard the War, everyone was busy trying to coordinate the fleet back together. The Stormblades, not having been equipped with side guns to save space for travel over water, were busy picking stranded sailors and soldiers out of the water.

The Barricudas and Tigersharks picked up incoming missiles from enemy fighters and kicked into evasive maneuvers. The Barricuda's accelerated ahead of the Tigersharks to try and get rid of the missiles.

The admiral shook his head. Things had not gone well. "We can't afford any more hits like that. Inform the fleet to stop moving and set up a more defensive stance. We shall then move in and deploy troops. But only when our allies arrive."

"Sir. I've got the location of the airfield where those planes came from."

"Excellent. Give 'em hell.Have the Apocalypse fire cruise missiles at it. All of them. Leave nothing standing."

Out the port window, the Apocalypse let off it's entire supply of HACM-13 'Peregrine' cruise missiles. Each missile streaked up to several thousand feet before leveling and heading inland to their target. In total, 10 missiles were headed straight at the enemy airfield.

(OOC: That hurt alot.)

The incoming 10 missiles were picked up by the S-500 straight flush radar, but there was only 2 launchers remaining. The field marshall did not know the Allanean airdefence, but he did not have time to check. He ordered the launch of all 8 missiles (4 per launcher). 7 of them impacted, destroying the missiles (RL S-400 has 0.98 hit against missiles). Three remained, and coming in fast. It was upto Allanean airdefence now.

We may offer the support of up to 40 ground divisions, along with naval and air support, for a total of perhaps 600,000 to 1.2 million personnel. That, of course, would take quite a long time, given logistic considerations. Such a force would take some ten to twenty weeks to deploy. We could deploy much smaller forces more quickly, perhaps to distract and disrupt Allenean forces or support yours, if you find it so necessary. Our forces await your response.

-Harald, son of Gustav, lord of all Bonstocknians

Meanwhile, a large fleet is seen gathering in Bonstocknian harbors, and air fields show increased activity. Tanks and other army vehicles are seen near Bonstocknian harbors, loading onto transports, and troops are seen gathering near air fields for deployment. Air and shore defenses are beefed up all around Bonstock and the colony of Maropian Coast, with SAM installations and interceptor airfields showing increaced activity, along with shore batteries and trenches all around Bonstock's long coast.

------------

One could look from a satelite above nigeria, if chellis didn't destroy any of the non-chellian satelites above chellis and its territories regularly, a sight for sore eyes. Small parts of the ocean were seemingly blotted out.

After the invasion of certain parts of western africa, namely Nigeria, Niger, and Chad, the chellians hadnt withdrawn the giant numbers of men and equipment there. They had a nice vacation. Now was time to help their ally, Automagfreek.

1,200 I-4's had been able to be pressed into service, the rest preparing for a second wave. 1,800 RAA-M's were the same, and 900 V-121's as well. All used drop-tanks to sufficiently gain the distance needed, as well as loiter time over the allied fleets. The I-4's and RAA-M's were, not surprisingly, armed with Gemini missiles, as many as they could carry with the drop tanks as well added on.

The V-121's were a bit strange however. The majority of them, 700, were carrying, on modified hardpoints, 30 Gemini missiles, 4 two ton drop-tanks, and large amounts of chaff. 100 of the V-121's carried 10 Stryker-G3's, medium range cruise missiles(Very much like Storm EG's, except longer range and 2 ton weight), and four of the droptanks. The last 100 were recon variants, carrying very long range passive and normal radar, as well as shorter range versions of those, and a three-channel IR radar.

The planes were headed to meet up with the allied fleets as soon as possible. The sent airplanes were less than half of all the combat aircraft in west africa, and many others were preparing for attacks. In addition to this, thousands of Heaven cargo planes began preparing for a possible jump, although all loading was done in secret, so it would be nearly impossible to tell the scale and type of attack. Of course, seeing as no satelites were allowed above chellian territories, it would be pretty much impossible to do so anyways.

Official Statement of the Prime Minister of The Freethinkers

After having watched the situation for several days and once again revelling in Allanea's laughable tactical and strategic actions, we state that we whole-heartedly support the nation of Automagfreeks in their war against Allanea.

Although we will not be commiting combat resources of our own, all Automagfreek and allied vessels, aircraft and troops will be allowed free and unhindered transit through our territorial space and any air or sea unit may seek sanctury and safe harbour in The Freethinkers. Any relevant intelligence will also be passed on.

We wish Automagfreek a short, glorious war. May your god be with you.

None of this is probably that useful, but I will make my stance known as a nation in the Haven region. Good luck AMF.

"The Island States will allow any vessel and plane going to attack Allanea access to our airfields and seaports, including our naval base in Shenzhou (near Allanea's southwest coast). We are still debating at this time whether to get involved, but it seems that we will probably sit this one on the sidelines."

A mighty fleet is was, which had assembled in Port Yuko's harbor for Lord Harald to command. Ten battleships, a dozen carriers and amphibious assault ships, twenty cargo ships, and many smaller vessels were all ready and waiting. And Harald climbed into the helm of the battleship Draken, which was to be his flagship in the coming days. The ships ceased refeuling, and sounded their horns, and left their docks for the road where whales travel.

And off, the Northmen were to battle. And Harald poured over maps, thinking of how this war would be won. The seas were calm, and the Northmen travelled fast along.

And back at home, the Riksdag made a declaration: a state of war between the Bonstocknian realm and the despotic invaders that were Allenea and his allies now existed.
Bonstock
20-07-2004, 18:21
'Twas aboard 12 carriers far from the Allanean fleet that Harald concocted his plan. For the Allaneans had a fatal flaw in their tactics: They had 15 air-craft carriers and many assault transports and submarines, but no destroyers or cruisers. Simply one battleship.

Which meant their air defense was but merely the carrier-based fighters. If those carriers were knocked out, then Allenea's invasion force would finally collapse.

Certainly, the Freeks and Panterans had their fleets working fast. Now Bonstock contributed its force to the assault.

And Lord Harald, ever a leader in combat, took to the sky in his command plane, and circled above the fleet as 576 F-35s took to the sky and joined in formation. They flew low, so as not to be observed. Low as merely 100 feet from the watery blue below.

Harald, son of Gustav, spoke, "For it is now the moment Bonstock has been waiting for. The Panteran's are tied up with EMPs, and the Freeks do battle with the giant Allenean battleship. But now, we must strike to deprive the Allaneans of their air cover. Then, and only then, shall we deliver the coup de grace against the helicopter-borne invasion force."

And the great armada of aircraft sped fast to their targets at their low altitude. Finally, they sighted the carriers miles from them. With 576 of their own at hand, the Allaneans were taken by surprise; what few planes that they could launch in time flew against the Northmen, where they shot down 6 of their planes, and engaged some in a fierce dogfight. The rest of the planes fired each a Phoenix anti-ship missile, 38 for each of the carriers, far more then any known CIWS guns could intercept. And then the Northmen retreated, returning to their carriers. Another 4 were shot down, bringing their losses to 10 planes for the mission. Lord Harald was quite pleased, and sattelites searched for the raid's result on the Allanean carriers.

On board of the USS Charlton Heston

Captain Sverdlovsky smiled. They survived. By some miracle, the strike force under his command survived. They went through the minefields, and the submarine patrols, and under the watchful eye of the ASW submarines – and now they were exactly were they wanted to be in the first place – in strike range of Forbidden Isle.

He looked at his assistant. The young boy’s first time at sea has turned out to be his first combat deployment. Now he stood in perfect attention in front of Captain Sverdlovsky. He was so green he didn’t even smirk at Sverdlovsky’s Clingon appearance. Sverdlovsky liked people who didn’t laugh at his plastic surgery.

“Do we have contact with the Stephen Harper ?” he asked the assistant.

“Yes, sir!”

“The James Madison submarine?”

“Yes, sir!”

“Good. Now, as you know, we are about four hundred fifty kilometers to the north- west of Forbidden Isle. We are also a similar distance of Mako Island. Our orders, beamed to us through long-range connection from the government are to fire several long-range SLCM’s – at five per submarine as of now – at Mako City, targetting government offices. Proceed.”

Fifteen minutes later, the missiles streaked out towards Mako city.

Allanean main assault fleet

“Get everything we have into the air, NOW!” ordered the Admiral.

Within minutes, the sky was blackened with fighter planes and helicopters, and streams of missiles launched from both lit up the Panterans’ world. With the the entire payload of about 18 helicopter- and aircraft-carrying vessels, the incoming Reavers were probably doomed.

Still, they did manage to get two shots through, finishing off the two damaged helicopter carriers.

Allanean Forward Assault Fleet.

Frederick Arnold looked through his binoculars at the eastern shore of AutomagFreek. He sighed. This didn’t look too good to him. But, well…

“Do we have contact with the Eagle Scout ?”

“Yes, sir!”

“The Moshe Feiglin?”
“Yes, sir!”

“The Incinerator?”

Frederick cursed inwardly. The forward assault fleet carried only 200 Anne Coulter Mk II aircraft – outdated in themselves – and 300 Liberators, which were total junk. But he hoped that they would be enough.

“Get our aircraft off the decks. All of them . Bomb anything standing on the beaches with FAE’s and EMP, as needed.”

“Aye, aye, sir!”

The Location of the Melkorian Fleet

“Ree-haw!”

Three Rube- class utility vessels, the Texas, the Michael Badnarik and the Harry Browne appeared suddenly out of the Einstein-Rosenberg wormholes just a thousand kilometers from the Gorgoroth. They were accompanied by the USS Lifeless.

“Fire!” The outdated vessels were still, nevertheless, heavily armed. Each of them launched 94 OIMC missiles each at the Gorgororoth . The Lifeless in the meanwhile strafed the smaller ships with railgun fire.

The Glaurung was by no means safe, too, as eight Rube-class vessels and a Mark class cruiser – admittedly, as outdated – strafed it with hundreds of ship-to-ship missiles.

Near Port Freeksburg

The commander of the Aissur submarine smiled as he looked at the radar, noting the locations of the Insanity and Destruction submarines. Yes, they have arrived. They were prepared for their mission.

“OK people, here goes. We need to continue until we get closer to Port Freeksburg. So from now on, we go on separate routes again. Understood?”

“Aye aye sir!”

The 8 AMS-84 Submarines dispatched by Artitsa days ago, were well aware of the Bonstockian fleet, and also well aware of their attack upon the Allanean fleet. They would have none of this. Bonstock has been and always will be an enemy of the people, often attempting to destroy Artitsa's ally and neighbor, Iron Blood, now was the chance to destroy a massive chunk of the Bonstockian navy. The 8 AMS-84's came to a depth of 20m, and readied their cyclic VLS tubes. 24 Tubes, 6 missiles each tube. Made for 144 missiles per boat. The message came in through burst transmission. They were to launch in T-Minus twenty minutes. The Artitsan Air command had launched 2 A-50 AWACs, an hour before hand, and they had been refueled by a KC-240, 45 minutes later, from a friendly nation. In twenty minutes they would be within range to guide the Anti-shipping missiles into their targets from over 2500km away.

-Twenty Minutes Later-
The tubes opened, and the missiles were fired systematically. Everytime a missile was launched, another was swivled in to take its place, then it would launch. In the span of 3 Minutes, 1152 anti-shipping missiles were heading towards the Bonstokian fleet. They all skimmed along, 5 to 8m above the water, well below detection range of most if not all CIWS and Anti-missile systems, traveling at an impressive mach 3+, they performed wide S shaped maneuvers to throw off any CIWS fire before they would smash into any ship in the bonstockian fleet, delivering a 500kg shaped warhead charge, two capable of utterly annihalting an aircraft carrier.

The Allanean Admiral smiled.

"Launch EMP anti-air missiles!"

"Aye Aye, sir!"

"Fire up the CIWS!"

"Aye aye, sir!"

Still, despite the CIWS, heavy damage was incurred, resulting in the loss of two carriers, three helicopters assault vessels, and damage to another carrier.

Sir, sonar is detecting incoming subs on grid 3. Stand by to intercept. The silent warriors beneath the waters began to stir and break their defensive positions and go on the active prowl for the bleeps on their screens that broke the silence. Above the waters, Freek destroyers began launching a series of depth charges in order to bring up the sub....in pieces or whole, it did not matter.

On the shores of Automagfreek, coastal atrillery began firing rocket assisted artillery shells with an EMP payload at the Allanean ships, while others contained high explosive heads. The shelling started while AMF fighters on the mainland began forming into their attack groups, missiles armed and ready. The shelling continued nostop of some 30+ minutes, firing with the assistance of Freek satellites to ensure pinpoint accuracy. Fighters on the decks of the AMF carriers Vengeance and Invincible scrambled and began their attack runs simultaniously with Freek Air Force craft on not only the Allanean planes, but on the carriers themselves. Firing in unison, the air was quickly saturated with dozens of anti-ship missiles, and various fighter swept in low firing their guns at the decks and any aircraft that happened to be sitting motionless.

More fighters were brought in from the mainland as the coastal guns kept blaring, their feiry wrath unleashed upon the Allanean fleets.

ooc: Hate to rant in the IC thread, but WTF? I fire some 500 missiles at your 15 carriers, and only one is "damaged"? Especially when you have ABSOLUTLY NO FLEET AIR DEFENSE. No AEGIS, no anti-air escorts for you carriers, nada! Just four CIWS guns on each carrier. Which would knock off four, maybe five, incoming missiles each, if they all came in one wave like mine did. And I had some forty missiles inbound to EACH of your carriers. I think you need to revise your casualty list a bit.

ooc: sorry, didn't notice who Artitsa was supporting:

ic: "Lord Harald, we've got incoming missiles. Lots of them. Maybe a thousand."

"Intercept them with our AEGIS destroyers. Perhaps we can knock out some of them."

Fortunatly, unlike Allenea, Bonstock had anti-air escort destroyers. Which helped greatly.

But the missiles streaked in fast. Though all the Northmen's efforts were on them, 9 destroyers and the aircraft carrier Admiral von Steuben were hit, and sunk with all hands. Another aircraft carrier was badly damaged, and had to limp to Automagfreek for repairs. Some 8000 Bonstocknians were dead.

Retaliation was swift. Seawolf submarines approached ahead of the fleet, and saw in their sights the Artisan fleet. 16 of them fired off 4 sonar guided torpedoes each at the Artisan subs, hoping to knock them down below.

ooc: I will replace this later with IC post. Several Problems:
1. What missiles are you using to intercept.
2. AEGIS system by USA cannot intercept seaskimmers as tested. It is actually only of any real use as ABM and against Ballistic Arc missiles
3. Sonar has a max range of 100km. AM-96B has max range of 700km. I did however fail to mention the range of the attack, but I assure you it was more then 100km.
4. You do not know they are Artitsan ;)

Before the Bonstockian Seawolfs could fully encircle the AMS-84's, they launched 6 Shkval Super-Cav torpedoes each, into the approaching morass of Sonar. The Seawolves had been traveling so fast to catch upto the AMS-84's, they hadn't realized that their speed easily gave them away. The three AMS-84's that were coming to the surface however, straightened out, fired off another round of shkvals, and opened their SA-N-12 hatches. 12 missiles from each boat streaked from the ocean, heading straight for each plane, their 3D thrustvectoring allowing them to stay on the tail of the planes. ooc: Nothing there made sense, but here we go:

IC: The 1,000 cruisemissiles impacted the water and did absolutely nothing. The blasts would not hamper any Submarines had they been where they were before, but since they were currently battling with the Bonstockian subs, they were already 500m deep. Unfortunatly, RADAR did not work under water, and the Subs remained unharmed...

OOC: What the fuck? No damage? Wow, godmodding. I said that the recon scouts, which have near AWAC radar capabilities, were keeping track of them. The cruise missiles didnt blow up when they hit the water either, they went after the submarines. If you arent gonna take any damage, im going to say the attack didnt happen at all, because thats just godmodding.

The Artitsan Subs approach 1200m, their limit. The Seawolves should be crumpling by now. They fired their last salvo before another AMS-84 was destroyed The two remaining subs shut off all systems, switching on sound dampeners. They would now just disappear from Sonar, after creating a fake explosion from countermeasures and mines.

However, Bonstocknian Seawolfs did not crumple (ooc: the offcial statement is their depth is "below 800 feet". In reality it must be lower). Though 2 more were destroyed, they kept firing at the Artisans.

Meanwhile, another 8 subs had managed to get inbetween the subs and their home ports, so as to cut off the Artisans.

Sonar, however, continued seeing the hulks of the Artisan subs. They were still targets for the subs.

ooc: Are you telling me that you can track Submarines with Radar? Are you also telling me you can use AWACs to track Submarines? Do you have any sonar bouys in the water currently? cause you didn't post em. If you meant to launch ASROCs which is a cruisemissile with a torpedo on the end, then you had better be alot closer... say 40kms away from the fight. Cruisemissiles will be destroyed when they hit water at mach 2 or 3. Simple as that.
I was never surfaced, I was always at least 20 to 40m's deep, so I don't see how I would have casualties to post...

ic: One of the three Sub's nearing the top is punctured by shrapanel from an exploding cruisemissile, having ventured to far up. It is taking on water fast. Half the crew is dead, and its engine compartment is flooding... it is dead in the water. The other two subs quickly dive back down before their fate is the same.

No, you're right, I cant use radar under-water. I can use IR underwater however, a heat source is a heat source, and I believe I told you earlier in the thread they had IR, as well as passive radar, and regular radar.

Also, If I planned on hitting subs, why would I send them at speeds where they could be crushed by impact with the water? Slower speeds is fine for submarines, which we planned on hitting in that case.

I sent 1000 cruise missiles, prepared to take out submarines, at about 20 submarines i believe. Thats 50 missiles a submarine. All your subs should be dead.

Edit: I dislike all this bickering though. Im just gonna say it didnt happen, because you are obviously trying to pick at every little thing to break up this rp, and I would rather finish it then bicker.

OOC Sorry bout the wait. My sis went in the hospital...

IC:

The Reaver pilots lauged across their radios. The Allanean's were rookies, not fit to lick the boots of the oldest, weakest Reaver.

Still, though, they were persistant, and would get theirs.

I've got a major lift taking place below, Command. Looks like... The damn fools are launching heli's at us, Command. Orders?

The Hound's officers quickly relayed their commands: "Hit and run, Pheonix. Draw them away from the main Allanea, or at least keep them busy below the AtMosDeck. Their games are over now. Hawkwing squadron is inbound, ETA, two minutes."

Understood, Command. We'll keep 'em tied.

The courageous Reaver pilots continued to rain hell on the massive lift that was underway below. The sheer numbers of the Allanean launch could not help but cause chaos, and with unmerciful, unhesistating fury the Pheonix squad plunged toward the sea. A number of their craft flashed into a thousand fiery pieces during their assault, but with their main guns blazing, they unleashed their final ordinance on the ships below, and the choppers and aircraft that had begun to takeoff. Many perished, but in the cunfusion of liftoff, most gave far, far more than they took. Those damaged beyond hope of further combat screamed their challenges across the radio and took their craft into enemy ships, if possible.

The Hound stood aboard his Plunder, carefully listening to the shouts, screams, and orders that chattered across the airwaves. He hated the sound of his men's pain, but he reveled in the echoing joy of their glory when another Allanean craft's wing or ship's hull belched fire and smoke. Alas, the former far outweighed the latter, and soon he snarled with every further report of loss...

Reaver Command, this is Hawkwing Squadron. Engaging immediately. Drag the Waters of War....

And then, as the Allanean lift began to tell heavily on the outnumbered Reaver pilots the surging swarm of Panteran jets swept out of the upper atmosphere and down into the fray, their weapons slicing into ship and craft as they dove, two hundred strong, and eager for the blood of their enemies.

Down they plunged, death on steel wings. They were the scorching wind of vengeance.

ooc: Im not, its just it wasn't really the best move. 500m's underwater, your Cruisemissiles will not affect submarines. And I've been in long debates about the use of IR under water, and its always been the same. It does not work. Ask New Empire or Doujin, or Freethinkers. I had 8 sub's in the area, and there were 16 but now 20 Bonstockian Subs there... so I'd imagine you killed most if not all of his as well :(

ic: All subs (the four that are left) sink down to their threseholds, on silent. But there is a problem... Sub RED005's hull has been compromised. If it does not surface, it will be destroyed. The Sub captain orders the Nuclear Reactor on remote detonation, and gives the order to surface.

3 Explosions rock the waves, the size of Submarines detonation. Clearly the pressure of 1200m had gotten to them.

The other unidentified submarine was on fire, its crew spilling out of it, only in black pants and white shirts. Inside the ship, everything was on fire, all documents, control surfaces, everything. The entire 40 man crew (what remained of the original 100+) were in two seperate life boats, unarmed. They officially surrendered. Around them pieces of wreckage floated to the surface...

The three submarines were perfectly still and quiet... no one moved. Their ploy might work... it might not.

"Excellant. Do we have the vessel?"

"No. We tried to put the flames out, but it sank anyway. But, we do know they were Artitsan now."

"Artitsa, eh? They've been mortal enemies of ours since the Dark Terror war, many years ago. This, of course, was long before I was even born. I'm surprised the Artitsans even remember the war."

"Well, what shall we do with the prisoners?"

"Get to small talking with them. Ask them what ship they were on. What they were doing attacking the Bonstocknians. Let the other submarines go. We have all the revenge we need now. Hold the prisoners for a ransom: a comphensation for all Bonstocknian losses, totalling around 20 billion USD. If they won't pay, we keep their prisoners until the end of the war."

"Yes, sir."

Meanwhile, with prisoners aboard, the Bonstocknians leave the combat area.

News is broken that a Bonstocknian carrier was sunk with all hands in a "training accident" while patrolling around Automagfreek. All Bonstocknian dead are reported to be from that carrier, though the dead totalled some 10,000 by now, and there were more in the water around the fleet. Perhaps 100,000 were ship-less, and were taken by lifeboat and helicopter to Automagfreek for medical treatment before C-17 aircraft transported them home.

A transmission is sent to Artitsa: We are willing to forget this ever happened if you pay us 20 billion dollars comphensation. If this is done, we will return the 40 POWs to you. If this is not done, we keep them until hostilities end between our two nations. Pay us now, we'll return your men, and officially this entire incident will have never happened. Our apologies and prayers extend to the families of the dead and missing of Bonstock and Artitsa alike. Sigma Octavus, off coast of Allanea

The admiral looked grimly at his heavily damaged fleet. The surviving crews of the downed ships had been picked up, and they were helping their ships sister ship's during field repairs. The Pestilence's flight deck had been patched up. Not a permanent fix, but it would do for this operation.

There was insufficient supplies required to fix the Gehenna's radio array, and a request was sent to Sigma Octavus to fly supplies out and land on the War. It would take a while before they would arrive.

The fleet had assumed a heavily defensive position, and the five submarines in the fleet patrolled underneath the waves. The Admiral shook his head and looked out at the sea. "Where are those fleets?.......Lieutenant, I think it's time to do a little inland reconnaisance. Get the Ares on the horn, an encrypted channel. Tell them to send in SOET for a stealth landing. Not too many. 5 squads. We need to know what's inland."

"Aye sir."

Aboard the Ares Paramount class carrier, 25 SOET loaded into a single SDC-3 deployment craft. The SDC-3 had been especially designed to deploy small numbers of troops very quietly. The design of the ship took full advantage of available stealth technology, and would generally show up on any detection equipment as a small whale. It dropped out of the bottom of the Ares and sped off towards land. Before it hit the shore, it would surface.

OOC: It would be damn hard to detect this thing. Especially without any fleets in the area.

From the docks of Nigeria, the CHN Rostov, an HBC(Helicopter battle carrier, basically a destroyer with a large flat deck for helicopters), and the CHN Igneous, an Air-defense cruiser, took off, headed towards the Octavus fleet. With the Rostov, it carried Thirty H-1N helicopters, small one manned helicopters, the naval version having both wheels and floaters, and a sealed cockpit incase of a water crash(The cockpit is armoured anyways). Having slipped away from the the main attacking columns and left General Brinks in charge of defending the homeland, Damien and Zander's fleets continued their hard sail towards the Allanean coast. With Morgoth's fleets a mere hour behind them, Damien knew that soon the now heavily damaged Octavian fleets would soon be in dire need of assistance. Send word to the commander of the Octavian and Chellin forces informing them of our arrival. Also inform them that Morgoth's massive aramda is close behind, and so is their new prize weapon: the "Super Sky-Furnace" the Gorgoroth, was also en route. Zander's First Mate complied and sent word via a secure and encrypted connection.

Damien stepped out onto the deck of the Mouth for War and eyed the horizon. Soon he would see the devastation of Sigma Octavus's fleet, and soon he would unleash hellfire and brimstone like never before. This time, war was personal.

Back at the Automagfreek mainland

With the Allanean fleets surrounded and inevitably low on ammunition, Freek Air Force and naval craft continued to keep the pressure on the Allaneans, and the coastal atrillery batteries continued to launch their precision ordinance with aid of AMF satellites. While some batteries were lost and some rendered inoperable, the Sentinels on the shores persisted. Supply trucks were brought in from the nearby cities to resupply the coastal batteries, and Freek SAM sites contined to lock on and fire at the airborne intruders. More and more ammo was brought to the front lines from the now smoking cities behind them, and General Brinks knew that this was time to end it. The deck guns of the Cemetary Gate opened up in a vicious roar, firing their 16" guns directly at the Allanean aircraft carriers. Round after round flew down the muzzle of the deck guns, rocking the Cemetery Gate every time they fired. AMF destroyers and cruisers concentrated on the Allanean battleship as well as Freek missile frigates, pouring an incredible amount of fire onto the battleship. Meanwhile beneath the waves, Freek subs continued their prowl of the depths, keeping Allanean subs at bay and maintaining their tight perimeter.

A series of stealth fighters flew high above the carnage, sighting in the Allanean fleets below and dropping fist fulls of 1,000 pound bombs. The stealth fighters were supported by more Air Force craft, flying high and engaging the rest of the Allanean planes that violated the skies.

Attention allied vessles, begin your final attack runs now. The enemy has fired massive numbers of missiles in great error, and we expect that they should be just about out now. We have begun a massive blitzkrieg, and we are concentrating the bulk of our coastal and airborne firepower on the enemy carriers. We expect our coordinated air attacks and naval attacks to bring down their ships soon, so continue to pound the bastards into silt. They will not last long.

The Location of the Melkorian Fleet

?Ree-haw!?

Three Rube- class utility vessels, the Texas, the Michael Badnarik and the Harry Browne appeared suddenly out of the Einstein-Rosenberg wormholes just a thousand kilometers from the Gorgoroth. They were accompanied by the USS Lifeless.

?Fire!? The outdated vessels were still, nevertheless, heavily armed. Each of them launched 94 OIMC missiles each at the Gorgororoth . The Lifeless in the meanwhile strafed the smaller ships with railgun fire.

The Glaurung was by no means safe, too, as eight Rube-class vessels and a Mark class cruiser ? admittedly, as outdated ? strafed it with hundreds of ship-to-ship missiles.

"Sir. Incoming targets. Missiles--capship killer class by the looks of them. Long range strike from about a thousand clicks out," grunted the technician, gesturing to his screen.

Sky Marshal Petrick clasped his hands behind his back and with a nod to the sensor screen, he picks a microphone from its receiver and punches up an open line to all ships. "All crews to drop positions," he orders hastily. "Incoming volley at a thousand clicks and closing fast. All ships prepare to dive. Furnace Crews intiate reactor shutdown protocol and vacate the Furnace area. Engage subsurface countermeasures and weapons. Air Destroyers clear all missile tubes. Topside crews are to initiate emergency loading procedures to prepare a return volley. All guns fire at will. Repeat, fire at will," came his orders blaring over the PA systems.

The Furnaces had to stay topside for some time to shut down and cool their reactors for the dive. This was always a tense moment, and it was always a close call in training missions. Petrick let out a low whistle as the missiles began to crest the horizon. The rest of the fleets had managed to slip below the waves and dive, their gravdrives of course capable of operating in any pressure environments, from deep sea to deep space. Interceptors stayed topside and were dispatched one and all to deal with the missiles closing on the two remaining Furnaces and their Air Destroyer escort.

Petrick scowled, looking down to check a 3-d rendering of the missiles' progress. "Not enough time," he muttered between clenched theeth. Their return volley would have to wait until they resurfaced. "Reverse the drives," he snorted. "Initiate drop protocol and double check to make sure the rest of the fleets have acheived suitable berth distance from our impact points," he barked to his aides, who quickly set themselves about making the Sky Marshals' orders a reality. He reached for the intercom again ."Sky Marshal Petrick ordering all crews on remaining topside Air Destroyer and Skyfurnace crews to prepare for gravitic reversal and assume drop positions. Engage drive reversal on my mark," he sneered, watching the missiles approach.

3....

One of the aides looks a bit nervous and peers through his binocs, watching the interceptors do what they can to the missile line.

2

Petrick's eye twitches. This was going to be a close call.

1...

"Now!"

The air roared and the gravity fields around the remaining gravships reversed, sending out a powerful wave of gravitic force which eminated outward from the ships, welling up to crush the incoming Allanean munitions. Imperial Interceptors wisely allowed for a whie berth as this process was initiated.

As was apparently unavoidable during this proceedure, the Sky Furnaces and Destroyers lose altitue with frightening speed, dropping from the sky like cinderblocks. Rather than impact the the water as one might expect, the unraveling gravity field pushed the water out from under the ships as they fist dropped to subsurface depth, a few missiles flying onto the well of air that was created by their passing into the waves. Petrick winces as a handful of missiles strike the dorsal surface of the ship. "Damage report," e demands.

One of the technicians squints at his screen, secured to his seat like the others with an elaborate harness system, to prevent undesirable kinetic effects on the necessary crew. Most men were trained simply to huddle in their compartments and grab on to something, but it was necessary to strap the bridge crew to their seats so they could continue to do their jobs. "Light damage to topside weapons systems/ Short range sensor array partially compromised. Hang on, I'm getting more reports from the others..." he trails off, his hand flying to his commlink. The ship groans as the descent slows, the gravity field eventually returning to normal. "Shit. Destroyer Reaper reports heavy damage to her drives, resorting to backup power. Probability of meaningful GravDrive repair 46%. Both Furnaces made it down relatively fine. The Glaurung hasn't suffered a scratch," says the technician, raising a brow."

Petrick freed himself from his restraints, and the rest of the bridge crew followed suit in short order. "Depth?" he asks, peering at the screen.

"Two hundred and fifty meters sir, and holding steady. That drop tooks us down quite a bit."

Petrick inhaled sharply. "Get crew back to their guns and begin the return ascent at once," he ordered. "Gather a report on crew casualties, if any. If anything killed our boys, my money would be on the drop. Drop statistics incoming."

Ignoring the document for the time being, Petrick turns and engages his commlink, directing his captains. "Initiate ascent. Order men back to combat mositions and prepare to return fire upon resurfacing. After the first tandem strike, order all units to fire at will. Power up the EMP batteries. Sky Furnace escort will be staying subsurface along with damaged Air Destroyer vessel Reaver. Gunship escort is to fan out and seek out and destroy any enemy submarines in the area. Furnaces will maintain subsurface depth of 450
meters, pending further directves. Petrick out."

=-=-=-=-=

Back on the now peaceful surface, a swarm of disaffected Raven class medium fighters suddenly align themselves and prepare their formations, sitting motionless in the air as behind them, Lord Melkor's gravships climbed inexorably from the waves, water streaming down their hulls as the prows could finally be seen again, rising from the sea in horrifyingly disturbing unison.

Suddenly the interceptor escort dispersed widly, splitting off in equal parts to the left, right, and upward as the Imperial Fleets remind Allanea just whom they have fired upon. Battery after battery of rail drivers were brought to bear on the distant foe, some hundreds of the shells sent screaming through the space that seperated them before the first of the missiles even cleared their tubes. A missile frigate finally opens fire, followed quickly by another, then several more. The 9 remeaining Air Destroyers let their missile bays speak for themselves, unleashing a scremaing salvo of 28 missiles, 7 each aimed at the Michael Badnarik, the Harry Browne, the Texas and the soon eerily fitting Lifeless.

Petrick watched the battle unfold from the bridge of the Gorgoroth, still well beneath the waves. "Change bearing, 5th and 7th Fleets. New bearing due south. 5th and 7th Fleets increase speed to 100 percent drive speed. We continue for Allanea. Order sensor units out and grid them to 300 square miles. I want to be made aware of any and all Allanean naval assets within reasonable striking range now. 5th Fleet shift tactics to on guard. The 7th will wait for the volley to fall and then will recomupte targets, if any are left."

"Sir! shouted the aide, whirling around in his char to deliver Petrik a datapad. "Full readout of losses and damages. Enemy railgun fire disabled some missile tubes on MisFrigs 009, 018, 027, and 035. Overall damage minimal. Proceeding with bearing and speed as advised."

[OC: attack summary:

to clear up any confusion, what my gravs did in the first part of that post was reverse their drives and drop under the water. Reversing the drives is an anti-missile technique employed by the Five Kindgoms for lack of an energy field system wherein a technician reverses the field created bythe ship momentarily, sending out a massive gravity well in all directions that will crush any fighter or missile or similar craft in it's path. No, it can't be done every time you launch a volley, so it's not exactly what you would call a common tactic. In most cases it's used as a last resort, and the maneuver can seldom be performed overland, obviously.

Now, for the figures.
-28 capship killer class fusion missiles, four aimed at each ship. yield: .5mT.
Every missile frigate I have cleared its tubes at least twice.. I'll throw in some malfunctions and duds so we'll say they fire... oh, 72 slightly smaller missiles come in right in front of the big-uns. After that it's a smattering of rail driver and heavy gauss fire from jsut about every ships with working guns. More than enough to dispatch 4 ships under most imaginable circumstances, I'd assume.

Same numbers, but instead of AAM's, the V-121 scouts instead were carrying either droptanks and 10 Stryker G-3's(500), or incindiary guided missiles, meant for taking out smaller villages(350). 50 kept their loads of 30 gemini's each.

The Massive amount of Chellian Heaven cargo aircraft still hadn't launched, presumably waiting for a good chance to drop the men, waiting for the AMF and Melkor forces to clear out the defenses.

While the air cover sent to help the AMF fleet had already been sent, there were still 600 V-121's left that were unassigned, as of then. They were being loaded with large amounts of cluster munitions and Incindiary missiles. This force was going to launch when the second air coverage met up with the AMF forces, and these were going to try to take out as much civilian population as they could. They would try to spearhead the mass destruction that melkor and AMf would quickly bring afterwards. But they wouldnt be launched for a while.

At the Octavus fleet, the Rostov and the Igneous finally arrived. The Rostov had been ready to send its helicopters out almost immediatly, and each one had two mica missiles, for protecting them from enemy SAM, and one rocket pod with nineteen rockets. 24 of these helicopters lifted off, and began a preliminary run towards Allanea, not getting to close, but just inside the expected range of the allanean long range sams(300 km).

Although no longer a member of the Accord - Yallak will defend Allanea shores from attack.

As such 4 fleets from the Imperial Navy and 2 Legions will be dispatched to Allanea imediatly. It will take an estimated 2 days (RL) to ready and depart, another 1 to make the journey.

General Caracas will arrive tomorrow with a divison of Airborne troops to aid in the establishment of defences.

OOC Message from the Manufacturer

Three Rube- class utility vessels, the Texas, the Michael Badnarik and the Harry Browne appeared suddenly out of the Einstein-Rosenberg wormholes just a thousand kilometers from the Gorgoroth. They were accompanied by the USS Lifeless.
Sorry, the Black Knight FTL system does not operate insystem. Especially the shoddy ones I sold you. Those three vessels are now high-energy particulate matter scattering harmlessly over Gorgoroth.

And it's reasons like these I didn't inform you of that, although if Melk allows a retraction, go for it. Either way, their missiles are expended.

The Glaurung was by no means safe, too, as eight Rube-class vessels and a Mark class cruiser – admittedly, as outdated – strafed it with hundreds of ship-to-ship missiles.
Checking for operability after combat maneuvers:
Mark: 20 - systems function normally
Rube 1: 89 - Hull fails. Slow-leak breach, crew has 5 minutes to don environment suits.
Rube 2: 29 - systems function normally
Rube 3: 69 - Hull shudder--maneuverability lessened ("You'll fly her apart!")
Rube 4: 34 - systems function normally
Rube 5: 13 - systems function normally
Rube 6: 67 - Hull shudder--maneuverability lessened
Rube 7: 53 - systems function normally
Rube 8: Doesn't exist, as I sold you TEN, not ELEVEN...

OOC: Ah hell, why not.

IC:

As promised, McLeodian support arrives to help protect AMF citizens from the Allanean fleet. A single squadron of the new EB-3F bombers patrolled the skies nearly four-hundred miles from the conflict. Drawing guidance and information from NIRTSSAT satellites over the area, the squadron rapidly accelerated to Mach 2 and began to close in on the Allanean fleet, eager to add their missiles to the mass of explosions lighting up the distant seas.

As one, they began a descent to around 2,500 ft ASL, wings fully swept back, active surfaces stretching the profile to make it as small as possible. Each carried full loadouts of Wolverine advanced cruise missiles, Anaconda AAMs, and Python UHARMs. In a few minutes, they would be in launch range, and the Allaneans would feel the sting of the RAF for the first, but by no means last, time.

The Maco Island Submarine Group

"We lost a sub."

"Sh*t. Any casualties due to the Samsons on the other side, in Mako city?"

"No clue, listening in to their airwaves now"

The Forward Assault Force

For a moment, nobody knew what was going. All was just a mix of missiles, explosions, aircraft, and fire. When the smoke cleared, three aircraft carriers were burning. About 300 planes were shot down, including those destroyed by the Panteran fighters

"Wonder how much damage we do to their planes and shoreline?"

"I wonder that too. At any rate, how many Marines do we have at our disposal?"

"About 1,500."

The helicopter carriers never carried their full capacity of helicopters. It was those marines they intended to make place for.

"Drop them in teams of 150 on the shore. Here the deal: Team Alfa is to be landing on Forbidden Island. Can the helis make it there on extended tanks? "

"Yes, sir."

"Teams Bravo and Cornelius are to be landing on the eastmost point of the beach, were Bravo is to start moving immediately to the north, while Cornelius moves south."

"Yes, Sir."

"Team Delta is to land slightly to the north of that point and to move westwards into AMF. Team Epsilon is to establish a small camp right on the beach"

"Understood."

"I am not done yet. Teams Frederick and Galt are to land to the north and sourth of that easternmost points and to conduct hit-and-run attack on the enemy shore emplacements. Teams Horatio and Ignatius are to move secretively, on land, towards the AMF capital, via separate routes."

"Yes, sir, should I proceed?"

"Wait, you shmuck. There's another team. Team Juliette. Tasked to continue deep into AMF territory. It is to divid into three separate groups upon landing, than to conduct hit-and-runs attacks at AMF industrial assets."

"Yes, sir."

"In the meanwhile, launch every single plane and heli we have to spare to bomb the shoreline one more time."

And the armada - though reduced greatly - flies again, bombing shore emplacements, radars, and troop concentrations

Off the Freeksburg Port

"Target, here. Aim. Lock. Fire."

And swarms of topedoes sped out from the three submarines towards the ship s in port.

OOC: I need you casualty posts, people.

Now, this is a sucky post, and here's why: I'm in the IDF. I'm doing guard duty Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, so this is my last post till Sunday evening.

The squadron forms a wide line-abreast formation before launching. Each of the aircraft releases twenty-two Wolverine cruise missiles and four hypersonic Pythons before turning and launching three Anaconda AAMs per aircraft at the helicopters carrying Marines towards the AMF shoreline. With that, the large aircraft turn back towards McLeod03, unaware of the war raging in their homeland.

IC Info:

The Pythons are Mach 5 versions of the HARM missile, designed to home in on active radars and shut them down permanently. The warhead is limited to a 150lb high-explosive, but at Mach 5, that'll take out any radar arrays that I know of.

The Wolverines are much slower, barely supersonic missiles, but they are built to survive. Each carries limited amounts of chaff and flares, as well as being capable of 10G turns to avoid missiles and jink around CIWS fire to a degree. The missile itself has two bomb bays filled with small bomblets, basically equivalent to about a hundred grenades being released over its target. It also has a 500lb high-explosive warhead capable of causing serious damage to a target in a final suicide run. They will prioritise targets assigned before launch, and will continue to attack those targets until considered destroyed.

Anacondas are little more than hypersonic radar guided AMRAAMs, with a smaller warhead, but still fully capable of really spoiling the day of any helicopter pilots out there.

IC Summary:

Launches:

220 Wolverines at the surviving ships
40 Pythons at any active Allanean ground radars
30 Anacondas at the Marine helos.
Pantera

-Command, this is Pheonix, requesting permission to return home. It's pretty nasty in the air, but Hawkwing Squad seems to be givin' hem hell.

-Return, Pheonix. Hawking has it under control. Drag the Waters...

As the battered Pheonix squad shot through the skies toward Pantera, the Hawkwing squadron continued to savage the attempts of the assault force. Many of their number were dead, at least one hundred, but their fury continued continued to chop through the Allaneans.

The Warhound himself was in high spirits. The invasion was all but thwarted, and his fleet closed on the Allanean shores alongside AMF's. Requesting a report on the distance to Allanea, he sat back to wait, eager for the fight.

Aust

OOC: I'm new to sea combat, I only got a port around a month ago, this is my first sea operation.

The Aust Aircraft Carriers, launched there planes, Zheng He vareints can carry around 80 planes and these took off heading to engage and hopefully destroy the Yndurain air force.
The plan was to draw the Yndurain planes up and destroy them toe to toe in the air. if they didn't come up then the Aust harriers and Panthers would launch missiles at there ships.
On board the HMS Deathfire, the flagship of the fleet the Admiral looked at the swarms of aircraft taking off. He threw a hasty salute at them and then went back to his maps.
"Keep the fleet together, the carriers in the middle and the escorts around the out side, launch all missiles at there carriers."
"Sir."
"And I think these guys have subs, send out some ships armed with depth charges to hit them."
"yes, Sir."
New Empire

A second bomber force, this time EB-1C "E Bones" and more EB-9s, cruised at Mach 2, Pallas Athena systems fully engaged. There were 12 EB-9, and 24 EB-1C. That meant that there were 32 air to surface equipped 'arsenal ships', each carrying 80 to 90 thousand pounds of weapons. Instead of the slow moving Wolverines, they were loaded out with 'Quick Jabs', hypersonic missiles that would do to navy vessels what DU penentrators did to tanks. The missiles were so advanced that they had their own Pallas Athena stealth system, which meant that if the Allaneans were using radar for their CIWS that they'd be invisible. Hastily, the names of the men that were killed or MIA during the first run were painted on the weapons, along with obscenities and other 'war graffitti'. The aircraft went low, sweeping back wings and adjusting control surfaces, nightmarish black and gray forms against a dark sea. As for the Allanean fighters, even if they were called back from their bombing raids on AMF, there would be some nasty surprises, about 288 of them, coming their way.

With little Allanean resistance to their path, the freshly topped off and Hafnium turbine enabled fighters screamed towards AMF coasts, ready rip through the Allanean aircraft.

Meanwhile, the Psychwar units were busy trying to fake the Allaneans out; or at least disturb them. A lingering EB-52 fired off Wolverine Cruise missiles, each broadcasting the radar signature of a bomber fleet, towards the Allanean air and sea armadas. They were called screamers for a good reason.

International and many other frequencies soon found themselves flooded with a famous Wagnerian song- a last minute touch based on the fighter units flying out- as the units that bore it's name screamed towards the Allanean bombers, all 288 of them, who had not launched their weapons as planned simply because the fighter force chasing the bombers had disappeared.

"This is the Major to all units, prepare to engage the enemy. Come in from over AMF airspace, flying low. Keep Pallas Athena on, and they won't know what hit them."

The fighters dropped, like alien birds swooping for the kill, and began their path towards the Allanean aircraft assaulting AMF. Intel readouts from the number of airwakes found on the satellite based UHR Doppler, and some guessing on casualties and capacities of the Allanean vessels told the gut instincts of the men that this would be a last stand for the Allaneans. And it was the job of the fighter pilots to make it in vain.

"Hey, Reiber, how we doing on time?"

The WSO of the F-121 sat in the back seat of the large, high speed interceptor as it raced over Automagfreek. The Valkyries had always been on alert, but it was only recently that they had been scrambled.

"Not too long, few minutes," remarked the pilot, "You ready?"

"Loaded and waiting, man. This is gonna be some hot shit."

The pilot checked the time in the flick of an eye, and muttered, "Not as hot as the date I'm missing. Fucking Allaneans."
Adejaani
22-07-2004, 03:43
The Admiral in charge of the battle group looked at the numbers and shook his head. Unsure of what exactly happened, the massive A-6 strikes launched at the Allanean Navy had lost almost half their number. Only two hundred and four out of three hundred aircraft had limped home, the majority of the survivors having combat damage of some sort.

The Admiral contemplated. Without the A-6's, his nation's carriers sat at anchor and rusted, as they formed the bulk of the striking power, both naval and land based. So, the Admiral had only a modest force, mostly VLS ships. Ten cruisers, twenty destroyers and six submarines. And, of course, the Adejaani obsession with logistics meant four logistics ships were trailing the force.

"Bloody hell, I don't even know where to fire my missiles! I can't keep up with this war!" The Admiral groused.
