General Rao was making a daily routine of the massive fortifications that stood facing China Proper from Xinjiang, preparing a small offensive to help the Shinoxian units about to attack.
He never saw it coming. About fifty artillery shells landed directly into his area. His body was ripped to shreds and the most illustrious Daylami commander besides the qaghan Kül Tigin was eliminated.
The mutineering artillery corps advanced, spreading the message to the starving, filthy Turkic armies in Xinjiang. Over two-thirds of the approximately 7 million men in Xinjiang were swayed over. However, the mutineers organization was poor. Fighting with loyalists led by the qaghan led to the destruction and degrading of fortifications along the border. The way was open for ROC, Hudecian, and Granzian armies...

Tigin sat in his office, his face pale, his hands trembling. The majority of the TPA had mutinied. The TPAF had remained loyal but entailed massive losses as artillery forces opened up on planes on the ground. Any that limped into the sky was shot down by AA planes. The Daylami air force in Xinjiang was no more.

Meanwhile, aboard the ships of the TPN, the mutineers struck again. The numbers were approximately 50:50, and just about the entire TPN was sent to the bottom of the sea in inter-ship fighting.

That wasn't all. The TPAF units in Iran were split as well. Aerial dogfights broke out over Iran.

The Shinoxian and Dancing Moose fleets were engaged in battle with coalition forces when B-2 bombers landed among them and littered the area with bombs. CIWS systems went into effect and brought them down, but the diplomatic damage had been done.

In Northern Iran, the mutineers were in the minority, but not by much. It was 3:2 loyalists, but fighting was fierce. The mutineers were holed up in the fortress of Alamut but were taking a terrible toll on the loyalist armies.

Meanwhile, all over the various Kashmiri, Kazak, Kyrgyz, Tajik, Turkmen, and Afghan territories of Daylam, guerrilla movements broke out and fighting was everywhere.

In one fell swoop, the armed forces of Daylam had been crippled.

On the home front, communes were destroyed, factories looted, as workers and police forces mutineed. Daylam became a gigantic battleground of anarchic forces.

The capital province, Uzbek Daylam, was relatively calm, but anarchic by anyone else's standards. Here the rebels were far less strong, being about in a 10:1 numerical inferiority. Still, police and military forces were shaken as fights broke out and rebels were holed up in various buildings after inflicting large losses on the TPQD forces.

Hand-to-hand fighting broke out everywhere, starving skeletons of men slicing and stabbing at each other with bayonets and sabers. The TPQD forces were forced away from the border of Xinjiang and the wrecked remnants of fortifications were taken over by marauding Uyghur cavalry as the mutineers fell into squabbling. Tigin used the opportunity to withdraw towards Yining. The army was harried the whole way by Uyghurs and mutineer guerillas.

Meanwhile, Iran was divided. The South was mutineer air space, the north under TPAF control. Southern Iran fell into complete and total anarchy, with mutineer, Persian, and Turkic warlords vying for control with the remnants of TPA strength.

In the west the mutineers were beaten back to north-west Iran, with their base at Tabriz. General Ali was preparing his tired forces for a last drive into the area.

Meanwhile, northern and central Kazakstan became a ground for battles between guerillas, mutineers, and TPA forces. Afghan and Kashmiri forces were pulled back to defend parts of Tajik and Turkmen Daylam, and Kashmir and Afghan Daylam became full of guerrilla bands fighting with each other for control.

In Turkmenistan TPA forces from the Iranian and Uzbek sectors were struggling to keep the link between the two loyal areas of Daylam open, with mixed results. South-east Turkmenistan was largely abadoned.

The qaghan was on the border between Xinjiang and Kyrgyz Daylam, with less than 600,000 men left out of his original 7 million.
He was on the verge of suicide when the news from the rest of the qaghanate hit him. Half of Persian Daylam, half of Turkmen Daylam, all of Kashmiri and Afghan Daylam, 2/3 of Kazak Daylam, the northern part of Tajik Daylam, and rural Kyrgyz Daylam were all under complete anarchy. He radioed in and added East Turkic Daylam to the list.

He asked for reinforcements, he was told there were none. The military was stretched trying to keep what it had left, nevermind reconquer lost areas. The only safe havens were Uzbekistan and Northern Iran, the two homelands of Daylam. Even then, Tabriz was the capital of a small rebel state in north-western Iran.

Tigin gave permission for General Ali to wage a war of extermination on the Tabriz rebellion, while the qaghan himself would attempt to run the gauntlet of Kyrgyztan and make it into Uzbek territory.

"How do these reporters get news before us?" zhang muttered.
"I dunno. Does the intel know much about the rebels?"
"Nothing. We have no operatives in Daylam Proper, although the XPAP are gathering target info for the ROCAF."

----------------------------------------

As the ROCAF increasingly switches to strike missions, Colonel Chiang decides to command an attack personally.

Flying at 90,000 feet in an SR-71, the Colonel connects the ground-scanning radar and the Land Warrior system into the LCD screen and watches.

Wow, if people weren't getting killed down there it would actually be beautiful, he thought.

He looked as a massive armada of ROCAF IDF-3s unload what looked like a few hundred JDAMs. On his radar screen, it appeared air-to-air fighting was dying down, with the odd explosion visible on the horizon.

An enormous mushroom cloud puffed up, and it appeared the ROCA was on the move.

The rebels squabbling was broken up as JDAM's slammed into the milling forces, killing tons of them. The qaghanate forces had seized most of the AA equipment when they escaped towards Kyrgyzstan, and now the five million rebels in Xinjiang were left defenseless, like so many crowds of sheep. Sporadic SAM fire was not enough, and the tunnels had been wrecked by inter-Turkic fighting. The rebel leader's authority, what remained of it, was dispelled as an illusion as large chunks broke off and went on raiding missions wherever they could find resources, competing and fighting with Uygur guerrillas under the now independant FSTX and their leader 'Tamerlane'.

OOC: Can you give a description of Tamerlane?
Daylam
14-06-2004, 07:07
A native Uyghur of Xinjiang, he was chosen by Daylam to lead the FSTX, the Front for the Stability of Turkic Xinjiang, first composed as a counter to the XPAP and then as a guerrilla force if Daylam was to retreat. With the disintegration of TPQD authority in Xinjiang, he has taken the Stinger, light-artillery, and UAV-equipped (along with small arms) FSTX and made it independant. He has large amounts of marauding cavalry bands loosely under his control. Urumqi has become his de facto capital, and he wars on both the mutineers and the TPQD now.

'Tamerlane', whose true name is Jiang Yue, is very resourceful and elusive. He is medium heighth and muscular.

The Skies Over Xinjiang

Cruising at a safe altitude of 50,000 feet, Alpha-Sierra-Niner-Five started its bombing run. The bomb bays slid open and for a short moment the Spirit was completely visible to almost all fire control radars in the area. 80 500lb JDAMs, crammed inside the bays, started to fall to the front lines of Daylami army, all aimed at the same target, two companies of loyalist Daylami infantry....

Airfield #495

Surrounded by snow-covered mountains, Airfield #495, also known as hell itself, crammed between two large cliffs, was bursting of activity. Three B-2A "Spirits", parked in front of their climate controlled hangars, in the shadow of the nearby mountain, were each loaded with 80 500lb JDAMs by ground crew in fluorescent jackets. Flight One of the 227th Bomber Wing was ready to perform more ""Psychological Warfare"....

Our Turkish brothers. Lay down your arms whether you're loyal or rebel. We will treat you in well terms and we will feed your starving comrades. Please, surrender to Xiaguo forces. Please, bring your families with you and we will protect them and treat them as refugees.

*Warning, if not, our forces will treat you as enemies*

Posters with similiar messages at stated,

Turks surrender NOW, lay down your weapons, and Xiaguo will treat your people and you, fairly and fitting. Beware of Sino forces however, so surrender to Xiannese forces and your people shall remain in peace and equal terms as simply REFUGEES.

Another poster read,
All Traitors of the Daylam shall be trialed for treason respectfully by Daylam. Traitors are too welcomed and if you wish to leave the Daylami army and join our international forces, you shall be rejected. Please, lay down your arms, we will treat you as refugees, if not, we simply fight you as an enemy.

"Umm.... well... I can't say that we expected this because.. well.. we didn't," Commander Reid, for once, was without a famous quote or witty comeback. "It seems that Daylami forces have ... more or less... disintegrated..."

"That doesn't mean they are defenceless however, 5 million former military men in such a small area is .. well... a recipe for disaster. If we move in now we could try to restore order... but not without heavy casualties."

"Likely our casualties will be amplified if there is a formal resistance movement organized.. and with all the weapons just floating around in Xinjiang..."

Reid didn't need to finish his report to the Cabinet. All knew full well what would happen if they moved in. They had all been prepared for a military adventure where all the elements were firmly under their control. Not this chaos, they were not prepared for this.

Nonetheless Hudecian troops began a slow advance towards and across the border of Xinjiang. They were full aware that there were still Shinoxian troops there.

Message to Shinoxia:
From: President Matsuda

In light of the chaos erupting in Xinjiang the Hudecian government offers Shinoxia with the opportunity to safely exit the warzone for their own safety.

Hudecian marines will shortly be entering the province of Xinjiang to restore order. For your troops own safety please institute a phased withdrawl.

Meanwhile the Keyet Consul Tso Yuyan was shocked by the horrors he saw on the news.

"Mrs. Len, I need you to call General Hanec, the Counsel of Human Liberty, and the Counsel of Humanitarian Services and arrange a meeting for nine o'clock tomorrow morning regarding the civil strife in Daylam. Surely we can do something about this."

.................

"We must certainly not enter Daylam, their internal conflict is lof none of our concern!" General Hanec declared passionately pounding his fist on the table. "We have no business meddling in their problems, especially when we have so many here at home. Plus we don't have the money or the man power to do them much good if we were to get involved."

"But surely we can provide some aid. You've seen the news the same as everyone else, that conflict has degrading into pure madness. The casualties are stupendous, and many of those are innocents," The consul argued.

"The Counsel of Human Liberty agrees with the General. Though the rebels attempt at liberty and self rule are admirable, their methods of bloody revolution are not, and a commitment to noninvolvement has to be maintained," so said their representative Chok Ge

"Maybe we shouldn't take sides in the conflict, but surely we could send in some people to tend to the wounded and distribute food and medical supplies. Perhaps even do some peace keeping and aid in it's quick restoration," pleaded Han Tec, representative of the Counsel of Humanitarian Services.

The general responded, "Absolutely not! Sending our troops into that mess will only get them killed, and fighting both sides is worst than if we chose one!"

The Consul thought this over. "No, our troops should not commit to any fighting over there, not even for peace keeping purposes but I agree with Mr. Tec and his ideas of aid. General, prepare your men for distributing supplies in a combat situation, and get as many medics together as you can find. They have a lot of wounded over there. Mr. Tec, tell the Counsel to gather as much food and medical supplies as they can spare."

The general's jaw dropped, "Sir, we don't have the resources for such a campaign. No offense sir, but you are going to get our troops killed!"

"No, general, I am going to save lives. Mrs. Len, try to get me in contact with the Daylam and the rebel forces, if there is any one who can still claim control over there I want to know our aid is welcome."

"You mean we have come all this way, demosntrating Crookfur's compelte lack of true heavy lift capability in the process and you say we may not be needed after all!"
The general came to a suden halt, his kilt swishing as he turned on the hapless CAP laison officer

The young offcier blanched in the face of the general's fury,
"Well sir the main danger seems to be over but the humanitarian issues of the recent event are only beginning to be revealed and all our resoruces will liekly be required."

"HUMANITARIAN MISSIONS! oh in the name of all thats holy, more humanitarian missions. First TFUN, then the cosntant trouble in FPC and now here too, just bloody great! Jones! pass the order we are goign to front to sort out other people's mess yet again!"

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

The Crookfur high command looked a tthe ongoing situation and turned thier attention to the Cannary islands, a perfect opertunaty to sercure another atlantic base for the OMP?

Under cover of darkness the 8th and 9th POFs slip away from thier berths at coveneant island and head for the cannarys, a tthe same time the stand to order is passed to the 3rd and 4th marine groups (comrpising of 2 marine divsions, 2 transport groups and 2 combat support fleets), the entire Airborne Corps and the lcoal air command.

A complete seige and bloackade of the isnalnds would be stretching it but with the help of the other OMP nations a devasting strike could eb carried out.

Clouds packed together and moved in front of the sun, blocking the sunlight from reaching the earth. The last red sunlight peered through some holes in the thick layer of clouds, turning the sky partly red, an appropriate effect for upcoming operation of the ASN.....

Still, the Fury was bursting of activity, ground crew moved ordnance on weapon trolleys up to the flight deck by a number of small lifts. The ship itself turned into the wind, the howling sound of the wind raging over the deck and against the "tower" rose....

Arabian Sea, 8:00 a.m. Local Time

As the sun's ray peaked out above the horizon, the area of the Arabian that held the Granzian fleets yesterday was... empty. Rays of sunshine looked down on the endless ocean. Several hundred nautical miles away, High Admiral Howard sat in his stateroom, hunched over his desk-screen and studying the naval routes when a knock sounded at the door. "Come in."

Admiral Grashal strode in through the double mahogany doors before stopping to salute. "You called for me, sir? I must also say, the men have begun to question the reason behind this sudden withdraw. I must say that even I was under the impression our forces had the upper hand, and was in fact, on the verge of a victorious confrontation. Wild rumors are abound, including one that our home islands are under attack!"

"Illusions are not always what they seem," said Howard with a glint in his eye. "Please, sit." He drew up a chair facing the desk before continuing. "A top secret transmission arrived from CC, the contents of which are here." Howard picks up a manila folder and hands it to Grashal. He opens it, and several documents, decoded, fell out.

"It... it says to go to the Canary Islands." Admiral Grashal looks up, "What could we possibly do there?"

"Apparently, Daylam owns them. Central Command has discovered around 60,000 marines are currently stationed there, nothing the OMP can't handle. The 1st Battlefleet sets sail back to Granzi, and the 3rd is being removed to Reunion. The 2nd, of which is under your command, is in charge of placing a blockade on the Canaries, and ultimately take them. The 4th and 5th Assault Groups is underway as well, and the rendezous should take place off South Africa. More detailed order is expected. Now get this done!"

Grashal quickly recovered his composition and hurried out. The 2nd Battlefleet broke off and soon set sail south. The war was not yet over.

-Shankou- just across the border in Xinjiang-

The lead elements of the first half million Hudecian troops began arriving in this small town.

Paladins, modified M1A2s, towed artillery and Chaperral units began arriving under heavy guard from both the air and the ground. Resistance to the advance, under the form of a few functioning Daylam units and the mixed mess of ex-Daylami troops.

Casualties would be heavy as snipers and resistance fighters would harry the spearhead through the entire province.

The army would reach Hami within 24 hours, Urumqi within the week.

"We have little idea what we are going to do once we secure the region, hopefully our Chinese allies will have a better idea. Our real objective though will be Kyrgyzstan however. We will secure the area and set up a provisional government as soon as possible." Commander Reid explained to his senior staff.

The Scandavian fleets weren't far behind those of Granzi and they were straining to catch up. The plan, at least the Scandavian plan, was to blockade Isla de Tenerife, Isla de la Gran Canaria, and Isla de Fuerteventura and then pound the military stations into dust. If necessary, they would also land Imperial Marines by helo, but that was only if things on the ground got out of hand.

As the Hudecian spearhead drove into Xinjiang, the rebels got some sort of cohesion, managing to rally around 2 million men to attempt to throw them back out. It was of no use. They were completely at the mercy of the Hudecian planes. They used their artillery to good effect but the numerous defensive lines had been wrecked by the retreating TPA forces. Artillery positions, the one thing left to the rebels, went into effect in large quantities. It was not enough to save them. The FSTX hit their rear, distracting them as the superior Hudecian troops speared through their ranks. They broke and fled in all directions. There were now heavily armed rebels in all sectors of Xinjiang, mixed with Uyghur armies under Jiang Yue's control.

Meanwhile, the qaghan had struggled into the crime-infested city of Bishkek, former capital of Kyrgyz Daylam. Behind him he left a swath of dead bodies.

The sudden disintegration of Daylami central command and control did not escape the notice of Western Asia's military planners. IDF forces had previously abstained from engaging the upstart empire, even when it faced off against _Taiwan, WA's ally.

Now, however, the United States of Western Asia was ready to act.

CANARIES CAMPAIGN (OPERATION: TSUNAMI)
Intelligence reports have indicated that, while the Daylami forces on the Canaries are not in open revolt, the troop morale is low and forces are not organized properly for a defense of all of the islands claimed by Daylam.

Atlantic Ocean, 40nm North of the Canary Islands
The main body of the 10th Western Asian Grand Fleet and the 3rd Amphibious Assault Ready Group passes the "Orange Line," the projected minimum distance for the Daylami forces to detect and begin to target the fleet vessels. The dozens of vessels in Task Force Recoup finalize the strike program for the Western Asian landing. Dozens of Helicopters and HLCACs are prepped for the assault of Fuerteventura, La Palma, Tenerife, and Gran Canaria, four of the most tactically important parts of the island group. Over 40,000 IDF Marines sit on landing craft or aboard ships awaiting their assault on these islands. The bombardment vessels are loaded and prepared for their role in the final assault as their main weapons come within effective striking range on their primary targets.

Porto Santo, Madeira IDF-AC Airbase Facility and Lajes Field, Azores IDF-AC Airbase Facility
The 223rd Fast Bomber Wing (B-4B Banshee) and 32nd Heavy Bomber Wing (B-52H Stratofortress) of the IDF Air Corps EURCOM are mobilized and armed for strike missions against Daylami targets in the Canary Islands. Some parts of the 32nd HBW are already in the air, only a few miles from the Canaries, as Operation Tsunami awaits activation.

IRAN CAMPAIGN (OPERATION XERXES)
Gulf of Oman/Persian Gulf
Vessels of the 9th AARG and 2nd NGF head out of Friendly (Menelmacari-held) bases along the Persian Gulf or enter the Gulf through the Strait of Hormuz. Preparations are made for amphibious seizures of Abadan, Bandar-e ‘Abbas, and Bandar-e Bushehr within the Persian Gulf and at Bandar Beheshti on the Gulf of Oman. A contingent of Marines aboard one old Wasp-class Amphibious Assault Carrier is assigned to seize the strategic and all-but-abandoned Kharg Island.

Crippling strikes are planned for Tabriz, Bushehr and other southern air bases, as strike fighters aboard fleet aircraft carriers are loaded with runway-busting bombs and guided weapons. Paratrooper-bearing transport aircraft launched from Sniper Country Somalia begin to approach the Iranian territory.

Diyarbakir IDF-AC Airbase Facility and Erhac IDF-AC Airbase Facility, State of Turkey
The 213th Fast Bomber Wing (B-4C Banshee) and 47th Heavy Bomber Wing (B-52I Stratofortress) are loaded for strike missions within Daylami Iran. Thousands of tons of munitions are prepared ranging from 500lb JDAMs to 5,000lb dumb bombs for general area targets.

The 35th Strategic Bombardment Fleet of Gatekeeper ULAs rises slowly over Diyarbakir ABF and its four airlifter-type airships make their way for ready positions over the border, with their hundreds of Supersonic CALCMs targeted for a variety of Daylami military sites.

C-15, C-5, and C-2 Transport Aircraft are loaded with IDF Army Corps Paratroopers and AirMechInf units that will be dropped deep within Daylami territory to seize strategic and tactical sites in support of follow-on airborne and ground forces.

Elsewhere on the bases, ULA Transports continue to ferry troops and supplies to the Iranian-Turkish border zone.

Batman IDF-AC Airbase Facility and Van IDF-AC Airbase Facility, State of Turkey
The 243rd, 245th, and 247th Composite Strike Fighter wings of the IDF Air Corps are prepped for action. F-15I Ra’ams, F-15C/D-2000 Baz Meshopars, F-16I Sufas, F-4H Wild Weasels, F-4I-3000 Kurnas, and F-35A JSFs are loaded with their strike packages and the first flights take off. Flights of MC-2D transports, MH-53M Pave Low IVs, and MH-60G/L/S Pavehawk/Blackhawk/Knighthawks take off to drop Paratroopers and Special Operations teams behind enemy lines.

Strike helicopters escort the insertion craft over the hilly terrain of the eastern sectors of the State of Turkey.

Turkish-Iranian Border Zone
As new troops, supplies, and vehicles arrive hourly by ULA and on the remote highways of rural Western Asia. Dozens of Tanks and APCs sit ready to rush across the border. The Daylami border stations have already been somewhat abandoned, with several of the once-hostile troops defecting to Western Asian patrols. Troops sit in semi-armored 2 1/2 and 5 ton trucks or in LAVs as the countdown enters its last hours.

----
The fall of Daylam is imminent. Now all that prevents the rush of IDF troops is a single call from the President.

The rendezvous occured without incident, and the Granzian fleet was nearing the Canary Islands. Onboard the Valiant, Admiral Grashal was pacing the bridge, mentally running his battleplans once more. His thought were interrupted by a shout from the Communications Officer. "Admiral, we have detected a large fleet nearing the Canaries, bearing in from the north."

His face growing more severe, Grashal hurries over to the data banks and peers over the CommOp's shoulder. "Can we identify them yet, Johnson? No... How long until the next satellite feed is transmitted?"

"At our current position, about 6 hours, Admiral."

"Too long of a time! Remain on course for the islands but call all vessels on high alert. Activate missile defense system and our ARAD network. Take no chances, but remain steady. Send out this transmission." Grashal picked up the mike and began to speak."

In the hours of the early morning an armored column appeared out of Camp Telopa. The first in a long line of Granzian forces, they wind swiftly down the road toward the Xinjiang-Gansu border. The roar of aircraft sound overhead, as they wing toward rebel targets inside enemy territory. General DeMark estimates an advance of 30 miles a day, with scattered resistance. They would catch up to the Hudecian soon, hopefully.

OOC: Just a quick note: most WA vessels are designed for minimal signal returns...so 120nm is quite a range for that (although that's well within the range of the E-2C Hawkeyes). I'll just assume that one of your Hawkeyes or equivalent got within the 30-50nm estimated detection range on patrol for now.

These claims were ceded to Daylam less than a year ago and this task force has been sent to recover those claims for inclusion in the Western Asian Atlantic Territories, in light of the collapse of proper Daylami government.

Tabriz had been ruined when General Ali's last force of 50,000 men struggled into the city, the bodies of citizens and rebels everywhere. Then he received word of the Western Asian offensive. It hit hard on all fronts and left the Daylami forces reeling. Southern Iran was mostly warlord country now. Kyrgyzstan was to be adandoned. Kazakstan as well. Tajikistan was slipping, as was Turkmenistan, where the south-east and east-central portions were already far gone.

Ali withdrew into north-central Daylam, anchoring the remnants of his forces in a triangle of Tehran-Hamadan-Alamut.

A courier ran through the halls of Varanasi Palace and stormed into the quarters of the Maharajah. "My Lord, the Daylami Quahganate is collapsing- Kashmir is in rebel hands. This is a great oppurtunity to expand our realm!!!!"

The Maharajah gave his response-" Move ten tank and twenty five infantry divisions and prepare the hidden artillery and tunnels for Operation Brave Fortune. Then wait for the signal to attack."

Kashmir-

The hidden artillery sat under stone colored blast doors. This particular one was going to rain hell thought gunnery seargent Hans Vollmer. A triple barrelled 16 Inch turret sat concealed in this hidden fortress, and under them in tunnels the 1st Cavalry with 3000 tanks and other vehicles sat waiting. 155mm guns were positioned elsewhere with SAM batteries and MLRS turrets.

Nearby an underground airfield prepared for war, refueling the planes and arming them with weapons.

CANARIES CAMPAIGN (OPERATION: TSUNAMI)

Atlantic Ocean, 40nm North of the Canary Islands
The bombardment ships open up on the Daylami shore emplacements. 16in, 8in, and 5in shells pound the structures and rip up enemy entrenchments while navalized MLRS rockets spread DPICMs across enemy formations and depots. Helicopters and HLCACs, as well as a number of larger landing vessels move for the enemy ports and beaches while F-35Cs on SEAD missions strike at one and another SAM and AAA battery.

AH-1Z Cobras lead the helicopter assault, destroying some armored vehicles and gun emplacements for the paratroopers and marines.

Porto Santo, Madeira IDF-AC Airbase Facility and Lajes Field, Azores IDF-AC Airbase Facility
Elements of the 223rd Fast Bomber Wing take off and head for the Canaries at supersonic speeds, their bays loaded with scores of small JDAMs. As the much slower 32nd Heavy Bomber Wing units begin to approach the AD cover of the friendly fleet.

F-15C/D-2000 Baz Meshopar and F-14E SuperTomcat fighters provide cover for the B-52s from the air.

IRAN CAMPAIGN (OPERATION XERXES)
Gulf of Oman/Persian Gulf
Hypersonic missiles are launched from the VLS arrays, striking deep within Daylami territory at the military complexes of the local warlords and remnant Daylami forces.

Helicopter and landing craft assaults are launched on Abadan, Bandar-e ‘Abbas, Bandar-e Bushehr, and Bandar Beheshti from scattered amphibious fleet elements.

300 marines are soon landed on Kharg Island, where they set about capturing or killing all Daylami military personnel and arresting many government officials stationed there. Other marines follow with equipment to defend the island foothold.

F-14E, F-35C, and F-18E/F aircraft stream over the Iranian shore at low altitudes, launching missiles and bombs against Tabriz, Bushehr, and several other Daylami air bases in the area, seeding massive craters across the airfields

The 213th Fast Bomber Wing and 47th Heavy Bomber Wing aircraft are launched and set course for Daylami territory near the Turkish border. The Fast Movers of the 213th are soon deep into Daylami territory as far as the Caspian Sea and they leave behind them a wide path of destruction from the scores of 250lb and 500lb JDAMs they dropped over various enemy target zones...with each munition homing in on its own target that was then crushed, blown up, or vaporized by the blast.

The Gatekeepers of the 35th SBF open their underbellies to unleash one round after the next...all 3,000lb Supersonic CALCMs. The first few dozen are quickly launched but the following ripples of missiles are slower as high-value targets are slowly eliminated by airstrikes from other parts of the IDF Air Corps.

C-15, C-5, and C-2 Transport Aircraft are launched and set off for their drop points under the cover of IDF air superiority fighters.

Batman IDF-AC Airbase Facility and Van IDF-AC Airbase Facility, State of Turkey
The 243rd, 245th, and 247th Composite Strike Fighter wings are launched and fly over the border soon after. SEAD missions easily wipe out most of the Air Defense of Daylam along the shared border while strike fighters address remaining enemy bases and troop formations within.

The MC-2D transports and transport helicopters pass into the enemy lands and soon place over 2,000 troops on strategic roads and at important vantage points for the upcoming battle.

Turkish-Iranian Border Zone

Western Asian forces begin their drive into Daylam with a bang...actually...several large explosions as guard stations are destroyed by recoilless rifle, tank, and large-caliber gun fire. Wheeled and tracked vehicles rush across the border, facing little resistance along the route aside from old roadblocks and a few stalwart defenders of Daylami lands...who are usually little more than stalwart carcasses after they are responded to with gun, mortar, and rocket fire from the Western Asian advance forces.
Sino

The Sinoese troops had no mercy or pity as they marched unto death in this ground offensive that is the largest in Chinese military history (6 million men), the net was closing from many sides of the Xinjiang border. H-8s bombed, artilleries pounded, troops shot and mortars pounded, victory was in General Liu's sights. Despite the extreme heat of the scorching desert Sinoese troops placed morale over comfort.

A unstoppable drive had retaken Hami and Yiwu. This is blitzkrieg of the Chinese kind. A foreign journalist had even described this the ARSA and ARSMC forces as the Chinese Wehrmacht. At Hami, the Sinoese troops attempt to scare the locals into submission with the public hangings and shootings of Daylami prisoners as well as Uyghur rebels. Corpses of insurgents and Daylami alike were tethered by rope to the towbars of humvees then dragged around the streets until the trail of blood dries and the limbs and flesh separate from the bone. Many Daylamis were shot dead then had their bodies hung from lampposts. The local Han population and some Uighurs welcomed the victorious Sinoese troops.

-Hami-

The march to Hami was a success, more or less.

Even though the Hudecians were outnumbered, the lack of cohesion of the former Daylami army caused their defeat. Still, the price had been heavy. over 30 000 men were casualties by the time the army had entered Hami.

Hudecian aircraft was quick to spot out rebel artillery and large concentrations of troops to the land forces. The few remaining strike craft in the Hudecian air force were unable to cause severe amounts of damage. Instead, heavy bombers had to be called in.

Commander Reid marched into the battered city of Hami with the second wave. Sniper fire still echoed through the streets as Hudecian marines squared off against rebels of all sorts and fashions.

Prisoners taken during the last day of fighting were marched off towards Anxi, where they would be processed, and eventually paroled. Hudecian Armed Forces were fairly strict about prisoner rights.

"We must beat the Sinoese to Urumqi..." Commander Reid explained to his armoured divisional commanders. "To prevent a repeat of their actions... "

"The plan is that Hudecian paratroopers will land in a relatively 'safe' region the capital city. They will move in and secure it. You armoured divisions will race ahead of the main army and try to secure it. You will be accompanied by several mechanized infantry divisions and fast attack divisions for support."

-Urumqi-

The first Hudecian paratroopers and air calvary units land under heavy fire. Several helicopters are taken out as well as hundreds of troops, as the landing proceeds. With blood and sweat the first few waves secure a toehold on the land.

Over and over, troops land and fighting against the rebels continues. Gains are made slowly and painfully.

The armoured advance goes quickly and almost as painfully.

The Scandavian fleet had finally caught up with the Granzi fleet, which was to say that they were thirty miles back. Admiral Harrington turned to her Fleet Communications Officer and said, "Signal the Granzis and let them know we're coming up on their tail, assuming they haven't already detected us. Also, get the flotillas up to AirDef Alpha, I wan't the sky lit up like a Christmas tree."

"Yes, ma'am," FltComs answered.

The Scandavian task force began sectioning off into their normal organizations and slow but surely diverging, each going to their assigned islands. The airspace was lit up by the Gaea class destroyers, their new APAR-12B radars giving them even greater coverage than the original 12s. Alexandria class nuclear-powered gun cruisers formed up around the capital ships, placing themselves between harms way and the very expensive ships that made the heart of any fleet. Down below Upholder class subs began to actively watch for any subs, the sound obsorbtion and suppresion gel, catepillar drives, and newly installed LIDAR made this sub non-existant to anything that might lurk in the depths.

Flight One, 227th Bomber Wing, Skies Over Xinjiang

As the rebels seemed to advance, gathering more and more rogue soldiers from the regular army troops, the Sabirian tactics were simple, undermine the morale of the loyalists as much as you can. And what is exactly more devastating for the morale of a soldier, than to wake up in the morning and find out that the neighbouring company effectively has been whiped from the face of the earth, just as the night before, when their neighbouring company had been decimated, and then the knowledge that you will be next?

Therefore, three B-2A "Spirits", again loaded with 80 500lb JDAMs, whizzed high in the sky over the heads of the advancing rebels, heading for frontline Daylami troops, quickly releasing their dealy payload, making a ninety degree turn, heading back towards Airfield #495....

General Tughrul, commander of the Canary Isle garrison of around 60,000 marines, watched in horror as the Western Asian fleets pounded the powerful fortifications of the isles with a large amount of firepower. The air base on the island sent off Ka heliocopters along with F-15E aircraft, guarded by the ever-stalwart Raptors of the Daylami Air Force. They were likely to be outnumbered and destroyed, but if the reports from the rest of the TPQD were true, neither him, or for that matter the entire Daylami empire, had much of a chance left.
Large coastal artillery fires in response, well entrenched and protected from a normal-size fleet. It is unlikely to survive a total bombardment. If any of the isles comes under direct ground attack, Tughrul Bey will remove all personnel to Isle de Tenerife and Isle de la Gran Canaria. Minefields are plentiful along this lines as are long-range artillery and AA emplacements.

Urumqi

Jiang Yue focused, accepting the reports coming in from all sectors of the city where Sinoese and Hudecian troops had attacked. He issued his orders carefully. He had almost two hundred thousand fighters in the city around his compound, guarded by SAMs, TA-1, light artillery, minefields, and entrenchments. The entire FSTX, reeling from the blows struck by coalition forces, was now entirely around Urumqi. He noticed the surrender reports coming in, and realized he could either surrender now (to the Hudecians of course) or continue a guerrilla war against hugely superior odds and face a heroic death. Finally he decided on somewhat of a blend of the two.
The entire Uyghur army, numbering 200,000 well-trained, well-armed men, threw itself at the Sinoese army, hoping to drive it out by sheer desperation. The men fought with revenge in their eyes. Meanwhile, Jiang Yue sent his surrender terms to the Hudecians via an encrypted channel. They included a hefty sum of money and the term that the FSTX be allowed to survive, though dis-armed, as a political party of an autonomous (though not fully independant) Uyghur Xinjiang province.

In Southern Iran, "Lord" Khusru, as he had taken to calling himself, had arose as the dominant warlord. He was a native Persian, formerly a TPA general, who had driven Turkic and TPA forces out with a combination of Persian conscripts and TPA regulars. He enjoyed a large air force (for Southern Iran), and his forces were currently engaged in battles with the TPA for control of Yazd in Central Iran. Khusru's 'kingdom', as it were, is a large chunk of territory with the borders of Yazd, to Shiraz, to Zahedan, with his HQ located at Kerman. He is a very pompous figure, but open to bribes, similar to Jiang Yue.

Meanwhile, the rogue TPA and Turkic elements had been driven out, and had regrouped around Ahwaz in south-western Iran under one al-Mustali, a Sunni Turkish leader. He is largely trying to hang on to what he can. He is discontented with the TPQD and would probably surrender if he came under attack from anything other than TPA or warlord forces. Considered a prime target for Khusru's next assault (assuming he drives loyalist TPA forces out of Yazd).

In Central Asia, the only places under loyalist control were Uzbekistan, and north-west Turkmenistan. All of the rest of Central Asia was under complete anarchy, with warlords, gangs, looters, and crime all running rampant.

The qaghan of Daylam had entered Uzbekistan, with 700,000 stragglers out of the once-glorious seven million that had been deployed in Urumqi. The TPA had little more than a tenth of its former strength left. Outnumbered units were still maintaining a tenous hold on the Turkmen capital, Ashgabat. They would need reinforcements soon.

Meanwhile, what WAS left of the TPA in Central Iran was still alive and kicking. With the reinforcement of General Ali's 50,000 elite troops, and the massive AA defenses, any Western Asian planes coming into north-central Iran around the southern border of the Caspian Sea were taught a harsh lesson. In the Elburz Mountains, Alamut, which had seen many sieges and many battles, the last one being where Caliphate forces had fought with Imamate ones in the first (relatively tiny) Daylami Civil War, was readied again. The tiny pass leading up to the city was rigged with enough explosive to make the most experienced minesweepers pee their pants. Any little blip on the radar screen was immediately hit with SAMs a la mode. Raptors patrolled the skies around the city in dense clouds.

The same kind of thing could be seen in Samarkand, current capital of Daylam. There were over ten different defense lines built in successive circles around the city, and sniper positions mapped out to maximum effect. This was now Fortress Uzbekistan, and every able-bodied man (or senior citizen or boy) was handed a weapon and put into a position.

The Maharajah spoke to general Hans Ulf, "Once the soldiers are in position institute operation Brave Fortune."

The 5th fleet pulled through the straight of Gibraltar and headed for the Canary Islands, the Admiral sent a message to Western Asia. "We are here to provide fire support, allow us to assist you."

Kashmir-
The blast doors opened to Hans Vollmer's 16 inch Gun, the platform raised into the air and the guns loaded themselves. Vollmer could see oter 155mm guns and MLRS coming out of their hiding spots and aiming for their targets, but one was different- it had four 155mm barrels set up in a diamond shape. That strange weapon began to spin and then it opened fire. The 155mm gun spat out 40 Shells a second each one either rigged for airburst or high explosive. Then the order came, "Fire for Effect" The 16 Inch gun fired sending three shells flying into the opposite mountain. Ten 155mm guns and five MLRS platforms sent their armaments high into the air, crashing down on Daylami Kashmir.

For thirty minutes this hell rained down on Daylam.

The smoke clouds covered the Daylami side of Kashmir, and before the clouds cleared the main attack came. From underground airflields swarms of Apaches, F-22s, F-16s, E-6s, and JSFs entered into the light of day. Tunnels were thrown open and hundreds of Magdhan tanks, APCs, IFVs and thousands of infantry poured out.

Thus Began operation Brave Fortune.

Aboard the GMS Valiant

Admiral Grashal was nervously pacing aboard the bridge, reviewing for the last time Operation Stingray: The taking of the Canaries. A transmission from Western Asia was recieved, stating their intentions to take to more heavily populated -and defended- islands. That was fine with him, the Granzians were not looking for a pitched battle or large casualties.

The orders had been send out some time ago. The entirety of the 4th Assault Group along with elements of the 5th would proceed to P-1, around 30 nm south of Isla de la Gomera. The bulk of the 2nd Battlefleet had been sent as well, to soften up any defenses prior to any landing. Lead by the Thunderchild battleship Gialio, a semicircle would be formed out of range of the Daylami guns. Aircraft aboard are on standby with several suadrons ready for rapid deployment. It was here that the main effort would be concentrated.

To take Isla de Lanzarote, a smaller task force had been sent due east, then north, staying stationary several nm out from the coast. After recon aircraft and the satellite feed was retrieved, it was discovered the terrain was mostly flat and sandy, with minimal cover and rise in elevation. The strategy here would be to focus on achieving air superiority, and destroy any pockets of resistance from the air. Overall, any landing was expected to be short and successful, supported by limited bombardment.

Several Perrigon Class Minesweepers were dispatched to clear the area beforehand of the main fleet's arrival. Escorted by a handful of Adari Class Air Defense Destroyers and a few Seabolt fighters, the small groups quickly swept the scene and was gone. The stretch of sea, especially near the larger islands, has numerous mines, and posed a difficult obstacle to breach. Gomera was particularly treacherous due to its proximity to Isla de Tenerife. The dilema was solved by several flights Sea Dragon helicopters who cleared the way. Now all they needed was the signal to attack.

"Admiral!"

Grashal rushed over to the nearest computer monitor and saw the green message. Decoded, it read:

~Kaishi~

Let it begin.

Admiral Grashal slowly picked up the speaker and spoke. "All units, commence the attack."

Aboard the GMS Valiant

For once Admiral Grashal could breathe easily since the campaign started. Everything was going according to plan. The massive bombardment by the fleet had commenced. A rain of fire from the massive 18, 22, and 26 inch guns of the battleships simultanously opened a broadside, sending armor-piercing shells screeching toward the shore defenses. The Valiant, with a small escort, had stayed further out to sea, to coordinate the joint action.

With a roar the various cruisers began launching their missile payloads. VLS systems began selecting crucial targets, sending them toward gun emplacements, radar stations, and airfields. The flights of GM-20 and GM-32 cruise missiles filled the sky and grouped together to form swarms. Destroyers and frigates joined in, and together a seemingly on-going rumble pervaded the area, sending waves rippling radially from the vessels.

All was quiet aboard the Valiant, except for the occasion overhead pass of patroling aircraft. A beep sounded as the routine satellite feed was collected and decoded in the communications data bank. Officer Johnson drew up the images, and on the 3rd one, his eyes widened with shock. "Admiral! Come take a look at this!"

Grashal strode toward the diplay monitor, and contemplated the sight. On number three was the unmistakable outlines of several ships. "These are not Western Asian? Oh no, these designs are almost identical to those collected by CC during the Magdha/FWS incidents in Pakistan and Indonesia. Which means...."

He didn't need to finshed the thought. "Get a transmission out now. The last thing we need is Magdha coming into the sector and causing our timetable to unbalance. He picked up the speaker:

"Attention Magdha vessels! Please leave the area at once. Assistance is not needed and your presence will serve only to complicate matters. While we currently have no objections to Kashmir, the Commonwealth will not allow Magdha interferance in the Canary Islands. Everything is under control. We do not wish for conflict. Again, please leave."

General Tughrul Bey only allowed for a few fierce minutes of fighting before pulling back his forces into the formidable defenses of the two main islands.

In Kashmir, all TPA power had been handed over to one Kemal Rej, who had previously been a leader of Kashmiri guerrillas. All of his men were veterans and they had the benefit of extensive defense systems put down by the Turkic People's Army beforehand.

Trench and tunnel systems protected the Kashmiri army as they answered the artillery bombardment in kind. The Maghdan soldiers slammed right into the well-hidden minefields that threw fragments into their faces along with huge explosions that made tanks unable to pass in areas. Well-hidden antitank emplacements made sure Maghdan tanks were in no hurry to get into Kashmir. T-90 tanks themselves were used in defensive positions against the Maghdan soldiers. Machine gun fire erupted all along the line and Maghdan planes were the target of huge amounts of AA fire.

It was exactly as Kemal Rej would have overseen it had he still been a TPA commander. As the AA batteries fell silent Raptors closed in on the mixed Maghdan planes, firing their missiles, focusing on strike and bombing planes. A-10A planes moved in low and unleashed their 3,900 rpm cannons onto the enemy tanks.

Magdhan F-15s Caught sight of the A-10s and pulled within reach then fired the Phoenix missiles. Other JSFs ripped forward and prepared to attack the Daylami Planes firing their missiles at the targets.

Magdhan Artillery once again fired at Daylami Lines- The 16 inch shells sometimes buried themselves into 30 feet of rock before exploding. MLRS batteries fired hundreds of missiles at the trenches and minefields.

Casualties were high as Magdhan M1-AM tanks and supporting infantry pushed forward. Tanks fired at hidden machineguns but more of the accursed guns seemed to spawn from every crevice in the rocks and every shrub. In the air several A-10s opened fire and struck a bunkered T-90 with it's massive cannon.

130,000 Feet in the air three Aurora bombers hurtled over Kashmir at mach 7. The pilots set their planes on satellite controlled as soon as they were fifty miles from their targets. The satellites had pinpointed their target: Three heavily defended areas bristling with artillery and men. The guidance computers released the bombs at the precise moment and turned the planes around.

The bunker-busting bombs flew downward and impacted within a few meters of their target, burying themselves in many feet of rock before detonating.

The Nighthawks were each carrying a very special weapon: A missile that flies directly into a radar unit based on the position of a radar beam. Should the radar be turned off the position was remembered by the missile guidance system and the area was still engaged.

The Nighthawks came within ten miles of their targets and fired their missiles then turned for home.

As soon as their guns were within range the gun cruisers, battlecruisers, dreadnaughts and superdreadnaughts opened up on Isla de Tenerife, Isla de la Gran Canaria, and Isla de Fuerteventura. The huge 22" ETCs of the dreadnaughts and superdreadnaughts pounded inland positions that were out of the reach of the smaller 8" ETCs of the Alexandria and Ryuho classes, who were hitting the beaches in what seemed like preparation for a beach assault but what was actually a lure to sucker in any would-be defenders to be mauled by the huge vessels that were the heart and sould of the fleets.

As soon as the beach bombardment was well underway each Ryuho battlecruiser spit out the contents of a single VLS grid, one hundred and ninety-two Mach 12 cruise missiles that released two KE pentrators each that were designed to penetrate as much as 100 feet of sand (which is a huge kenetic absorber) or thirty feat of hardened concrete. The rods, if they hit the proper places, would bring destroy gas, sewer, electric, and water lines and collapse any tunnels that might be present. This particular warhead had been cooked up by PsyOps specialists to make people think about how much they wanted to resist when the enemy could take out basic human comforts at will.

[It should be noted that these missiles would be targetted in such a way that they wouldn't get anywhere near WA landing or residential areas. As was stated, this is primarily a PsyOps weapons and is designed primarily make non-military people uncomfortable and hopefully take away popular support for continued resistance. Also, there are 12 Ryuhos in each fleet and there is a single fleet per targetted island.]

Magdhan air bases shook under the impact. Even being built underground with resistance to most artillery strikes planned out heavy damage still occurred. Base C had collapsed and taken 50 Raptors with it. F and A were unusable for a few days because of rubble.

Another flight of Auroras ripped out of airfeilds in the Thar desert. This thime their targets were airfields used by Kamal Rej. The planes climbed up to the altitude of 130,000 Feet and rocketed forward at mach 7. The planes set themselves on auto-guidance systems 50 miles out and closed in on their targets. OOC: Let me explain something to you:

You won't be able to get overtop of my air fields without an extreme stroke of luck. First of all there are F-22s that are in the air at all times, that would make mincemeat of your unprotected strike planes. Second of all there are AA defenses coming out everyone's asses. There were three major fortified borders (along with Alamut and Samarkand) in the former TPQD: Kashmir-Maghda, Turkey-Iran, Xinjiang-China. The latter were wrecked in government-mutineer fighting. The first one is intact and will be nigh-impossible to penetrate.

Your best bet is using artillery strikes, but remember all airfields should be stable enough to withstand these, you might have overestimated your casualties if you had strong defenses around your airfields.

There are also ASW helicopters in the air, as well as strike aircraft with Harpoons. I have long-range artillery that would easily hit a fleet around the outside islands, but not with any great volume. There would probably be not too strong of a challenge to your fleet, but there would be more than you made it out to be.

Tughrul Bey's will to fight was egging. With the bombardment of his shores and the poor treatment and lack of supplies he got from the TPQD, his men were starving. He was loyal, but a majority of the empire had already fallen to warlords and rebels. He began to wonder if it wasn't time to throw in the towel. However, as long as the shores were not penetrated by enemy troops, he would stick it out to his men began dying of hunger. Beyond that he would not, and could not, do anything else. "Lead to Firebase, come in firebase- Request bombardment at the following coordinates......"

"Roger lead- bombardment commencing"

The 155mm Chain cannon fed the coordinates into its computer and aimed for the area. The gun then began to fire 40 air burst or high explosive rounds a second and the target for five seconds.

The lead tank could see fragments raining down on that area and dirt being thrown into the air by shell bursts. The smoke rose up after a mere five seconds of barrage.

Magdhan artillery reaimed at Daylami defenses. The assault had ground to a halt and needed some support. The chain cannon and ten 155mm guns loaded airburst munitions into their guns. Airbust munitions were the perfect thing, they were excellent with trenches: Exploding over the soldiers and showering them with shrapnel.

"Fire for effect screamed the gunnery seargeant"

The 16 Inch gun fired first, followed by the other weapons. The 16 Inch shells exploded on contact but the others exploded in the air over known Daylami trenches. The shells of the chain cannon seemed to walk fragments over the trench line, further emphasised by single barrelled 155mm guns.

Al-Mustali had no time to prepare when his territory was hit by the ferocious Persian assault. Isfahan was lost to the Persian armies, and they drove deeper into his meager territory. In desperation he radioed coalition and TPQD forces, asking for help, knowing they would not come in time. Doing what he could, he prepared to flee into neighboring Iraq should his outnumbered, tired, wounded forces give way as they about to do.

Discouraged by their leader's absence, the Turkic soldiers of al-Mustali surrendered in droves to the Persian juggernaught. The elite corps of Immortals, resurrected by Khusru, spearheaded the advance. Miraculously, the Shah ordered them to halt, he could not risk stretching his territories that far and indefensible a position, and he had had some interesting talks with the Kashmiri general. Meanwhile, in Herat, a representative of Kemal Rej's Kashmiri state sat at a table, staring at the Shah Khusru II.

The man, a small but muscular Pathan, spoke to the Shah.

"What do you want for what we have requested of you?"
The Shah looked at him with a look of amusement, as did the large Immortals standing behind him with bayonets drawn.
"You know what I want, fool. Perhaps dear Kemal would rather I turn my armies upon him, instead? I would love to match my Persians against his Turks, see who is really the true warriors!"
The Pathan sighed, holding his temper as Rej had commanded him. Rej had predicted all this. What a smart man, the Pathan thought.
"Very well, you will receive them if and when you begin Operation Sassania."
"What?!" yelled the Shah. "I want them now, you idiotic barbarian!"
"No." replied the Pathan calmly, with a hint of a smile on his face.
"Fine, fool. Rej will pay for his insolence dearly."
"We shall see..." the Pathan spoke, as the Shah exited the room with hid bodyguards.

As he returned, Operation Sassania began. Four hundred thousand men of Khusru's army moved north, preparing to assault Tehran. They met General Ali's 200,000 men, well fortified, and were halted. Fighting was fierce, and the fate of the loyalist government rested on these men.

When the last one was out of sight, blended with the clouds near the horizon, a second wave was ready for take off. Twenty-four F/A-18UE-AS Super Hornets, newly upgraded by FDC to fulfill strict requirements of the ASN for upgrading their old Hornets to a standard extremely capable of performing air-to-ground missions. The birds, each armed with four EAW-38As (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=135324&highlight=), effective munitions for countering infantry, which was the main element of the Daylami troops on the Canaries, were each "shot" away by the strong electro-magnetic catapults aboard. Of course were all aircraft armed with standard air-to-air and small anti-radiation missiles.

CANARIES CAMPAIGN (OPERATION: TSUNAMI)
A looped transmission is broadcast throughout the Canaries from EC-2D "Grey Ghost" PSYOPS airplanes. The message is specifically addressed to Daylami troops, with broadcasts being tuned to the frequencies reportedly used by the Daylami C4I systems and for local communications nets. Secondary broadcasts are made over major local radio stations and on available empty bands to reach as many Daylami personnel as possible.

Forces of the former Daylami Empire,

Your Homeland is collapsing upon itself as your Nation fails to defend even its most ancient borders. Your government cannot provide for your family in your own lands. Your fellow soldiers have mutinied against the harsh drive of their commanders and have seized their own homes in an attempt to defend their loved ones.

Your mission here is hopeless. You are the garrison of the distant territories of a collapsed nation. Your nation cannot provide you safe passage home, nor can your leaders even assure you that your homes will remain if you ever return. To stay and fight against our forces would be a valiant effort, but a foolish and pointless one. You can do more for your families by defending them on your home ground. What good do you do for your people fighting an enemy of a government that cannot fight for you and your interests? For a government that will not even be able to pay you for your duty…or pay your survivors for your death? For a government that, effectively, no longer exists?

Surrender now to Western Asian forces and we will ensure that you return to your homelands in good health and ready to defend your families from harm. We will return you all to your homeland by the end of the fortnight if you peacefully come forth. Broadcast your surrender or hang white flags over your offices, bunkers, barracks, and weapons sites.

By fighting you fight for nothing, by surrendering you save many lives of friends and countrymen—and your own. We have no mercy on those that fight. By surrendering control of these islands you will have the chance to defend those that you care for.

Operation: Tsunami, Theatre-wide Activities
The flights of enemy aircraft are met by salvos of SM-3 Medium-ranged Mach 5.4 SAMs, which are accompanied by several (slightly) slower SM-2 Block IIIC medium-range SAMs. The short-range wireless networks allow each missile to select a separate target from among the enemy aircraft. Following that hail of fire comes the F-14E SuperTomcats loaded with Python V short-range missiles as well as AMRAAMs and Derby BVRMs, which ruthlessly seek out the crippled enemy aircraft or some of the few that have managed to survived the onslaught unharmed. A miles-long line of Derby missiles is fired at the swarm of enemy aircraft while the jets themselves close range.

TALD and ITALD decoys attract Daylami AA fire and missiles—just as the real strike aircraft (F/A-18E/F SuperHornets and F-35C JSF-CVs) fire off HARM II ("Smart HARM") missiles to neutralize the enemy ground radars.

MH-60S Knighthawks clear the way for the amphibious assault forces, using modified 25mm guns to fire supercavitating rounds at any near-surface mines that threaten the approaches of the HLCACs and large fleet vessels. Under the waves, fast automated drone subs use their own versions of these same guns to seek out and destroy mines based both on the surface and on the ocean floor.

The FireFinder radars on the Bombardment vessels hone in on the origins of the enemy shells and return shell and missile fire right on the barrels or direct the hunter-killer bands of Cobra helicopters and strike jets to launch guided missiles against the sites. The majority incoming shells are mostly destroyed by either MTHEL blasts or by "shotgun" shells fired from 16" guns in defense. Nonetheless, several shells strike the robust ships, knocking out a couple of the smaller turrets and damaging some minor weapons systems. This damage degrades the striking ability of the vessels but the command crew sits safely deep within the hull of the monstrous bombardment ships. The return volleys clear up most of the opposition within a few minutes.

Operation: Tsunami, Objective: Isla de la Palma
Atlantic Ocean, Around Isla de la Palma
A bombardment group provides some limited small-caliber covering fire for the contingent of 4,200 Marines assigned to take this smallest of the Western Asian objectives, but the general lack of Daylami infrastructure means that little work needs be done. Some 2,300 marines head ashore in the first assault waves under the air cover of F-14E SuperTomcats, F-35C JSF-CVs, and AH-1Z UltraCobras. The emptied HLCACs and aircraft return to the ships for the follow-on waves of marines.

Ashore Isla de la Palma
The landing goes virtually unopposed although a entrenched enemy positions are discovered and destroyed along the way by ground forces, with no casualties taken from their fire. The Marines land in the harbor and soon the beachhead is secured for the landing of larger equipment and the main body of the Marine landing group.

The IDF Marines drive into Santa Cruz de la Palma in their Light Scout Artillery groups and in LAVs, supported by a platoon of MBTs just arrived from the beachhead. Scattered resistance is found at the first few intersections but only scattered RPG and basically no ATGM fire is taken. The troops take care not to damage the historic and beautiful buildings of the city as they move towards the Daylami garrison.

Near the town center, the troops round a corner to find the Daylami troops sitting in the square with white handkerchiefs held overhead and white sheets draped from the second story of the local HQ. A couple dozen troops set to work recording the information of the prisoners of war while the rest of the Marines continue along the main roads to El Paso and other cities in the interior of the island. On some of these roads they face Daylami armored vehicles, which are immediately destroyed…occupied or abandoned, no care is taken for vehicles not draped in white. The few markedly abandoned units are seized and returned to Santa Cruz for use by the future Western Asian garrison, Western Asian allies, or local policing groups. A few stalwart Daylami soldiers sit at roadblocks, only to find their attempts destroyed by rocket, recoilless rifle, and chain gun fire.

Nearby, a company of Marines has air-assaulted into the airport near Mazo and sets about securing the area. They face some initial resistance from a platoon or two of enemy soldiers but several short firefights (and a few thermobaric explosions in the enemy bunkers) later the surviving handful Daylami soldiers surrender--they have run out of ammunition and most have at least minor injuries. The relatively fierce fighting at the airport generates the first Western Asian ground casualties of the campaign as a half-dozen men are shipped offshore after being too close to an exploding fuel truck. By the third hour after the start of Operation: Tsunami, Isla de la Palma’s main access routes are completely under Western Asian control.

At Puerto Naos, just below Los Llanos, 400 Marines land with LAVs and start the climb to Los Llanos, having faced only a few patrols of Daylami soldiers that were either quickly eliminated or which surrendered after a couple of short firefights. The Cobra helicopter strafes earlier on left the otherwise pristine beach town dotted with a dozen or so smoking and burning hulls of what were once Daylami armored vehicles.

Operation: Tsunami, Objective: Isla de Gran Canaria
Atlantic Ocean, Around Isla de Gran Canaria
The bombardment ships have a much heavier duty in neutralizing Gran Canaria. Several Daylami ASM batteries were destroyed but at least a half-dozen missiles got fired before the sites were scorched. The Millennium Gun CIWS aboard the heavily armored bombardment ships, which were closest to the shore, easily dealt with the simple threats, however, and the amphibious assault continued generally unopposed otherwise. The progress of amphibious ships is slowed to a crawl by the immense number of mines in the area and the majority of the Western Asian fleet, aside from the heavily armored bombardment vessels and amphibious assault units, is pulled back into open waters.

Half way to the Canaries from Madeira
Elements of the 223rd Fast Bomber Wing continue along their deadly streaking path, loaded like some pregnant alien creature with dozens of bombs standing in for broodlings, their supersonic wake has long since ceased any attempt to keep up with the almost hypersonic aircraft.

The B-52s of the 32nd Heavy Bomber Wing units prepare to enter the combat zone from on high, with their deadly cargo only one push-button away from seeding destruction across the islands. The bombers’ old escorts have long since turned back to friendly bases.

Operation: Tsunami, Objective: Isla de Fuerteventura
Atlantic Ocean, Around Isla de Fuerteventura
The wide beaches of Fuereventura make the large island almost an amphibious assault planner’s wet dream…and the IDF marines demonstrate this well. Launching from just outside of the detected enemy anti-shipping mine zone, a couple dozen HLCACs and a handful Zubr II landing craft join with the semi-submersible Landing Ship Barges and AAVP7s and air assault units to pull off a textbook amphibious assault operation. A light salvo of NAVLAR rockets clears the landing zones for the soldiers. Within 2 hours’ time 6, 400 Marines have landed on the island and have secured the major towns of the sprawling place. The bombardment vessels get off with barely a shot fired…there aren’t enough targets to really warrant the expenditure of ammunition that might need to be used on the two main islands.

Operation: Tsunami, Theatre-wide Activities
The EC-2D "Grey Ghost" broadcasts are interrupted regularly by news of the Western Asian capture of Isla de la Palma and Isla de Fuerteventura after only a few hours of combat. The electronic warfare ‘haze’ that the fleets have managed to establish between Isla de Gran Canaria, Isla de Tenerife and the other islands seems to support this claim as no local Daylami communications between the islands is possible anymore.

The ROCA's advance was brilliant, but had failed to keep pace with the Sinoese mobile units. They were still a few hours away from Urumqi.

As Chiang's JSTARS-T flew over Urumqi at high altitude, he could see the smoke on the horizon, even from 55,000 feet. The fighting must be massive, he thought.

With precision strike capabilities required due to the proximity to civilians,
the usual JDAMs are replaced with Small Diameter Bombs with superior accuracy.

48 IDF-2s are assigned to soften up FSTX forces. A small team of paratroopers are dropped outside the city.

The 450 Planes zoomed into Kashmir on a direct course to the enemy aircraft. Thirty broke off to engage the enemy, firing phoenix missiles at them and closing to engage with sidewinders and cannon.

Magdhan soldiers had stopped as tanks pounded the daylami lines. The smokescreen was gone and the vehicles were clearly visible with the still crawling infantry. The men were less then 50 meters away from the trench and yet still no sign of Daylami soldiers existed.

Hudecian troops engaged in heavy combat all around and inside Urumqi. The surrender of the FSTX had came at a fortuitous time, with the Hudecian hold around Urumqi tenuous at best, and heavy armour just arriving, they needed a success desperately.

The surrender of the FSTX was accepted and Hudecian marines were quickly assigned to protect Jiang Yue and former members of the FSTX. The Hudecian's quickly called for the surrender of the remaining FSTX forces to Hudecian, Taiwanese or Xiannese authorities.

Hoping to appeal to the Uygers to surrender, the Hudecian military outlined (and distributed via plane) a plan for a self-governed Xinjiang (no timeline was given).

From the Hudecian HQ, the progressing war was watched carefully. Although the Hudecian quick advance had put them ahead of the Sinoese forces, it was not by much. The Sinoese would still reach the city within hours or days.

The only way they could really protect Urumqi was if they either the defenders were defeated or surrendered by the time the Sinoese forces got there. Commander Reid was worried.

Message to Sinoese Military Command
From Hudecian Military Commander Reid

The government and military of Hudecia deplore in the strongest terms possible the events that Sinoese soldiers partook of in the liberation of Hami. We advise the Sinoese military that they should control their troops more effectively.

OOC: A portion of the Granzian fleet is covering you, in case you need it.

Aboard the GMS Valiant

The Communications center recieved increasing reports of fighting on the numerous islands of the chain. Many of the radio frequencies now broadcast Western Asian propaganda, humorously dubbed the "Asian 'Vation" by the crew. Merely 30 minutes ago, the Al-Sabirians landed at Isla de la Hierro, effectively eliminating one of the Granzian objectives. The fleets had begun closing in on Isla de Gomera and Lazaote, however.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On both islands, small flights of helicopters were observed landing and evacuating many foes. Taken as a sign of weakness, CC had ordered the deployment of simultanous lands. The LCACs and LPD dodged incoming small arms fire nimbly while flights of GM-32 missiles struck at coastal emplacements.

On Lanzarote, the flat and level terrain greatly benefited the 600 Marines. As soon as the beach was hit, covering fire was given as more men crossed the beach. To their suprise, the island was nearly deserted of any garrison. Trucks and TCs were unloaded, and headed toward the main town of Arrecife. Here, scattered machine-gun fire was heard as a squad of die-hard soldiers fired from inside buildings and from roofs. The first unsuspecting truck was hit by an RPG in the front cab and exploded. Luckily, the occupants in the rear had enough time to evacuate. Return-fire was given, as the call for reinforcement was answered by a pair of EA-22D gunships. Any resistance was quickly neutralized by the twin miniguns, followed by an onslaught of rockets.

The going was much slower at Gomero. Elememts of the 65th Marine battallion on the southern shore. A few Daylami soldiers were rapidly desposed of, with minimal casaulties. Beyond the landing sites, however, fortified emplacements offered increasing resistance the closer to San Sebastian. The Granzian advance slowed, as the wait fro heavier equipment began.

Isla De El Hierro

As the first troops of the 17th MEU had already deployed a bridgehead near the beach, more reinforcements arrived, though the light armament of the MEU, mainly a quick-reaction force for countering lighter equiped, and less advanced enemies in modern conflicts, was definetly giving the Al-Sabirians a hard time against the heavier equiped Daylami marines, but the aerial superiority countered this effect and the Al-Sabirians advanced pretty quick through Daylami lines, mostly abandoned by the troops.

The iron fist of the battalion, consisting of four Iron Cheetah MBTs and eight LAV-25s, cut through the Daylami emplacements, advancing even quicker than expected. Suddenly, the convoy was ambushed. Two RPGs hit the front Iron Cheetah, luckily causing no significant damage to the strong armour, but one LAV was struck by no less than five RPGs, eliminating the entire crew, as well as most of the passengers, only two marines escaped out of the burning wreckage, immediatly seeking cover near the side the road. The Iron Cheetah behind the unfortunate vehicle evaded it, a miracle with those speeds of 20mph and the plumes of dust, making it hard to see further than 40 feet on the road.

Revenge was sweat, the turret of the Iron Cheetah swung to the right side of the road, as the coaxial-mounted machinegun spit out hundreds of bullets, wreacking havoc on the bushes were the enemy had been hiding. At the same time, four EA-22D gunships soared high over the small "tip" of the Al-Sabirian spear. Dozens of small unguided rockets bursted out of their pods, mounted under the helicopters, striking the Daylami troops at a furious pace, giving them no time to escape or seek for cover.

General Tugrul Bey announced his formal surrender today, marking the end of all resistance to enemy occupation of the Canary Islands. What was left of the 60,000 Marines began minesweeping operations around the islands. All AA aicraft fell silent and the General prepared to accept delegations from the various assaulting nations.

Meanwhile, Jiang Yue's captivity in Hudecian hands was somewhat less secure than he wished. He was not afraid of death, but woe be to the forces that killed him. Jiang Yue commanded over five hundred thousand fighters, only three hundred thousand were in Urumqi. His second-in-command, Bayan Chor, was in command of these. His orders were to resume guerrilla warfare should harm come to Jiang.

With the surrender of the Canaries, the Qaghan grew ever more nervous. Tehran, the biggest city in Iran, was under assault by twice the number of Shah Khusru's armies. General Ali was hard-pressed. Therefore, the qaghan took an additional hundred thousand and went to Tehran.

In Maghda, the strike-oriented JSFs and inferior F-16s were easy prey for the trained Kashmiri pilots. The Maghdans seemed hesitant to advance, but still the last men of the two thousand Kashmiris left behind waited in their tunnels, just 50 meters away.

Meanwhile, the cleric al-Mustali sent a plea requesting help from coalition forces against the assaulting Immortals.

Meanwhile, General Arslan finally drove all rebel forces out of Ashgabat.

IRAN CAMPAIGN (OPERATION XERXES)
120,000 Marine, SOCOM, and Army Paratrooper combat personnel tasked to the Southern Sector Command
80,000 Army, Army Paratrooper, and SOCOM combat personnel tasked to the Northern Sector Command

Operation: Xerxes, Objective: Southern Coast Harbors
50,000 Marines landed or landing.

Gulf of Oman/Persian Gulf
The first signs of the Daylami naval fleet in the sector were seen as several groups of Daylami ships and supporting aircraft were spotted by E-2D Hawkeyes on Long-Range Scout Patrols almost 300nm away.

A dozen F-18E SuperHornets are tasked to eliminate the threat, each is loaded with 5 Gabriel IV ASMs, 2 BrahMos II supersonic ASMs, 2 Derby BVRAAMs, and 2 Python V AAMs. Additional cover is provided by a sextet of F-14E SuperTomcats, each bearing 2 Derby BVRAAMs, 2 HARM IIs, and 4 Python V AAMs. These eighteen aircraft also cover a charge by a dozen IDF Naval Corps missile boats, which bear many more Gabriel IV and BrahMos II missiles. A second, larger flight of aircraft is prepared aboard the aircraft carriers to lead in the missile-boats on their strikes.

Helicopter and landing craft assaults on Abadan (Operation Endrun), Bandar-e ‘Abbas (Operation Fjord I), Bandar-e Bushehr (Operation Fjord II), and Bandar Beheshti (Operation Sentry) from scattered amphibious fleet elements prove successful as they are backed by HLCAC landings of almost 8,000 Marines at each of these sites. Intense but scattered resistance is seen throughout these cities as the Marines secure the ports for follow-on forces. RPG fire is common from the militias loyal to local warlords and abandoned Daylami troops working as mercenaries or free agents. Propaganda spread about has more of an effect on the civilian population, however, as local civil leaders inform the Marines on the location of ex-Daylami bunkers and barracks around the city. Casualties are relatively light and the Marines arrive at the heart of most of the cities by about 14 hours after landing. Bandar-e ‘Abbas is a bit more difficult to run through as the powerful local warlord has a better-equipped militia than most, but by nightfall the Marines are undeniably winning their battles and have secured the Oil and Natural Gas refineries, removing over two tons of explosive devices from each of the facilities after snipers killed attempted sabotage agents. Abdan proves to be virtually abandoned, never having recovered from the Iran-Iraq War.

Paratroopers land near the northern parts of the large cities as their transports head back to friendly territory further south. These soldiers establish control over the major access roads and engage a number of men arriving to support local warlords.

Isolated companies of Marines are landed along important coastal roads in helicopter air assaults and they set about establishing roadblocks and check points with their 106mm Recoilless Rifles, light machine guns, and RPGs. Local militias turn out to be mostly friendly although a few ex-Daylami personnel are engaged in momentary gun battles as scouting patrols examine the landing areas.

Kharg Island’s fall is followed by assaults on Hormoz Island by 2,400 Marines and Qeshm Island by another 6,800 Marines in the major thrusts of Operation: Marine Layer. Sirri, Abu Musa, the Tunb Islands, and Larek Island are seized by smaller landing parties of Marines to be used as air and make-shift naval bases for the rest of the assault. Special Forces teams secure the oil and natural gas refineries, processing centers, and infrastructure.

F-14E, F-35C, and F-18E/F strike aircraft return from their bombing runs against mainland targets and are soon back aboard their carriers being refueled and rearmed for renewed strikes along the Southern Sector.

Diyarbakir IDF-AC Airbase Facility and Erhac IDF-AC Airbase Facility, State of Turkey
The 213th Fast Bomber Wing and 47th Heavy Bomber Wing aircraft are launched and set course for Daylami territory near the Turkish border.

The 14 B-4B Banshee supersonic/strategic bombers of the 213th FBW head back to Western Asian Turkey. Their extreme speed of almost Mach 5 having protected them from most of Daylam’s AAA fire and SAMs. The 12 B-52s of the 47th HBW, being somewhat slower, remained safe as they bombed targets more along the border zone and around Tabriz.

The Gatekeepers of the 35th SBF remain on station. The dozens of CALCMs they’ve launched, however, approach and destroy the intended targets, including fuel depots, arms dumps, C&C centers, and barracks throughout the region.

The C-15, C-5, and C-2 Transport Aircraft begin the drop of about 2,800 Army Corps Paratroopers onto strategic towns, sites along access roads, and at bridges farther into the enemy territory, with the vast majority landing in the vicinity of Tabriz. About 400 of these men, alongside several Special Forces teams, seize control of the Tabriz nuclear plant and missile facility and hold the site for the arriving heavy forces. 300 other Paratroopers from this airlift seize the Tabriz airport.

The 243rd, 245th, and 247th Composite Strike Fighter wings from Batman ABF and Van ABF complete their SEAD missions and either return to base or continue search and destroy patrols over the border region. Some F-15I Ra’am and F-16I Sufa strike fighters arriving more recently strike at targets and carry on patrols over Tabriz.

The MC-2D transports and transport helicopters return to Turkey for refueling and additional missions.

20km from Tabriz
The main body of Western Asian forces approach their first major objective: Tabriz. Many smaller towns along the route were the site of minor skirmishes with warlord-allied militias and remnant Daylami forces, but this is to be the first major ex-Daylami city that the IDF Army Corps will seize. Mobile artillery units work with scout cars to destroy Daylami military posts on the outskirts of the city as the Merkava III Baz, LIC, IV and V MBTs drive into the city with APCs hugging close.

One LAV battalion is assigned to support the Paratroopers at the airport while another two LAV brigades are tasked to defend the nuclear plant and missile facility.

As the troops move onward, they find that the large numbers of Daylami POWs is quickly becoming a significant burden on their progress so many of the local soldiers of the Daylami army are released after signing a pledge to honor and defend their towns on behalf of Western Asia.

60km North of Orumiyeh
This slightly maller group of Army Corps personnel skirts the magnificent Lake Urmia. They see even less Daylami presence although some Iraqi units are reported by locals, which prove to be nothing more than the men of local warlords-in-waiting that have been trying to pressure the locals to accept their command. Less than an hour later, the IDF forces roll into Orumiyeh welcomed by the majority of the population, which sings and dances in the streets as the Western Asians (Including many Turks and Kurds) pass through to officially take control of the city.

Some semblence of order had been restored to the city with the surrender of Jiang's forces and the arrival of Hudecian troops.

Jiang himself was always surrounded by at least 12 Hudecian marines and another dozen Hudecian SOFs.

He moved around in an armoured convoy escorted by helicopters. Hudecian military officials were trying to convince him to leave Xinjiang for the time being and seek safety in Hudecia. But leaving one's home is difficult, even if home is a warzone.

I'm assuming that other nations will have interests in central, northern and eastern Iran for now. Should I just play-in the parts of Shah Khusru's forces in the south? General Ali entered the charred remnants of the city of Tehran, dodging artillery shells as he went. Turkic soldiers were deserting in droves, starving and wailing as their homes across the TPQD fell under attack by various factions. The conscripts melted away until only a hardened set of veterans, drawn mostly from the fanatical Northern Iranian and Uzbek provinces, as well as unmarried men from a variety of other places. All of them were injured. The well-motivated four hundred thousand Persian soldiers were gaining ground quickly. Finally, as the last armored division fell to Persian fire, Ali prepared to withdraw. Marines battling on the outskirts of San Sebastian were dumbfounded when all enemy fire suddenly came to an abrupt halt. An eery silence fell over the battleground, save for the flickering of flames. Wary of the sudden lull in the fighting, several aquads were waved forward, and whom quickly assumed position behind sangbags and buildings. Rifles and pistols held at ready, Sargeant Miller fanned out this men on both edges, and prepared for a counterattack.

From the behind the twisted wreckage of several vehicles, a lone Daylami soldier ambled forward. Motioning his men not to fire, Miller placed his pistol on the pavement. Shrouded by acrid smoke, a white flag became visible above his head. Upon seeing this sight, the troops erupted in cheers, hugging their buddies, and waving aloft their weapons. Miller, always the cautious one, slowly approached the fellow to accept his surrender.

The marine contingent on Isla de Lazarote had already taken control of populated areas, with only the northern tip eluding Granzian control. Several EA-22C transports had just been sent toward the town of Haria. Amazingly, it was completely deserted. They made their way slowly toward the center of the village, and the last corner was turned. What remained of the Daylami fighters had grouped in front of the hall, weapons placed on the floor, and a white flag draped over a second-story windowsill. Relief turned into business once more, as the arms were collected and POWs catalogued.

Aboard the Valiant, The radio squacked to life, with a simple message: "The enemy is surrendering sir!" Admiral Grashal let out a small smile, and replyed. "Good work! Notify the commanders and begin peacekeeping operations on both islands. Get food, medicine, and supplies down as fast as you can."

"Communications officer Johnson yelled, "Transmission from Daylam commander. He is offering surrender conditions and has offered to begin talks at once. Will you be attending sir?"

"Yes, of course. Reply back to say that once the situation has stabilized, I will meet personally with him. In the meantime, send over a diplomatic party with a logistics team to Isla de Gran Canaria to arrange for the transportation of food and other materials."

Xinjiang
OOC: Just realized, Daylam is huge!

Several weeks of travel over the desert roads were behind the Granzian army. They had long passed the rubbled of what was the city of Hami, once so fought over. The main advance had reached the city of the Turpan, nestled in the foothills of the Bogda Shan range. Water and vegetation was more plentiful in this region, and here they would rest for several days. A camp of tents was erected on the outskirts of the town, and the airstrip was undergoing minor repairs.

General Demark sat in the command tent, facing a wooden table placed in the center. On it was spread numerous topographical charts, maps, and recent satellite images of the road ahead. An army lantern hung from the ceiling beam, illuminating the metallic files stacked on the earth. As Demark pondered the routes, his aide rushed in to deliver a seal envelope. After his dismissal, Demark slit open and drew a sheath of papers. As he read over them, something clicked inside his head. The general stayed the run of the night, planning for the march ahead.

In the back of the Iron Cheetah MBT, which has a small compartment for four soldiers, Lieutenant Azid rubbed his face clean of most of the sweat. He shouldered his Tavor Combat Rifle and used hand-signals to make the three other troops in the compartment clear to stand by and spread out immediatly after he opened the large door, which sealed the compartment from the outside world. As planned the tank suddenly stopped and Azid quickly opened the door, his hands finding the small red button aside it. The vault swung open and they stormed out. The same happened in all other IFVs and Tanks, two complete platoons gathered near the side of the road, the men quickly advancing, their shotguns and Tavors spitting out death to every Daylami they saw. Barraged by 40mm grenades and frag grenades, some of them surrendered, though most of them fanatically fought to death, taking some of the Sabirians with them. Aerial support was almost impossible, the chance of "friendly" fire was too big, so the marines had to fight this one out on their own...

Approaching the small town, the unmistakeble, howling sound of 81mm mortars rose, the small village was accuratly pounded by the eight mortars of the battalion, followed by some heavier stuff, four 105mm howitzers. The marines calmly waited until the shower of death was over and walked over the track of beaten dirt, leading them into the town, still on their guard, but knowing that the artillery boys had effectively dealed with all resistance here. From one of the windows, a white shirt, fixed to a rifle, appeared, the man who hold it wasn't visible, but he was clearly shaking of fear, as the flag doing the same.

"Come out with your hands in the air, or we'll shoot"

Lieutenant Azid yelled, while he shouldered his rifle again and checked if the magazine was full of 5.56mm bullets, not taking any chances with this one. The door slowly opened, as five Daylami soldiers stepped out, their clothes mostly ripped apart, sweaty and covered with blood. One had the sign of a major on his shoulder. They weren't holding any weapons, but Azid didn't take any risks and said:

"Lay down on the ground with your face to the earth and hands on your back"

The enemy soldiers nervously did what they were told to do, not knowing what to expect next.

"Contact the Glory, tell them we need Colonel Aziz here right now, we have the Daylami commander, we think. Also you two over there, get some plastic handcuffs,"

Azid said, poiting his finger on some marines, with their shotguns leaning against the a pile of rubble, while they were drinking some water.

The marines tied the men laying on the ground, moving them to the shadows of a larger house, so wouldn't have to lay in the sun all the time.

Then the rest of the group waited for the interrogation/negotiation team to arrive in an EA-24C...

OOC: No, not quite. While some of it is, you must remember that Khusru was a Daylami general, whose army completely revolted. He has tanks and planes. As you can see he can mobilize large semi-well equipped armies.

OOC: Oh f*ck then...I'll take some casualties. Now for the IC conclusion of the Canaries campaign, I guess.
IC:

General Tugrul Bey announced his formal surrender today, marking the end of all resistance to enemy occupation of the Canary Islands. What was left of the 60,000 Marines began minesweeping operations around the islands. All AA aicraft fell silent and the General prepared to accept delegations from the various assaulting nations.

The announcement over the radio of Gen. Bey's surrender went through the Western Asian fleet with a shudder, like a well-oiled machine suddenly thrown into reverse.

The 223rd Fast Bomber Wing and 32nd Heavy Bomber Wing turn quickly away from the Island, their bombardiers having been only seconds away from releasing scores of tons of deadly munitions on the Daylami forces.

Massive landing operations are ceased as General Tugrul Bey's announcement is rebroadcast throughout the islands by the same EC-2D "Grey Ghost" units that only moments before were asking for that offer. The recording is also played by PsyOps units running EW operations in Daylam proper, or what remains of it.

Operation: Tsunami, Objective: Isla de la Palma
As the few corpses of Daylami fighters killed in the hostilities are collected for transport and burial, the remaining Daylami soldiers taken as POWs are heli-lifted to a corvette offshore, which bears them towards Gran Canaria for reunions with their fellow soldiers.

The ships offshore down-grade their alert status and landings shift from frantic thrusts to land as many troops as possible to an orderly transport of supplies and reconstruction materials. The bombardment vessels downgrade operations and return their combat systems to standby status.

Operation: Tsunami, Objective: Isla de Fuerteventura
The Marines ashore here consolidate their positions and begin to set up temporary 'tent cities' for their stay. The amphibious assault vessels are retasked to the more mundane task of bearing emergency medical equipment and personnel to the various assaulted islands, where the scores of injured or ill are provided with treatment.

Operation: Tsunami, Objective: Isla de Gran Canaria and Isla de Tenerife
Flights of MH-53 Sea Dragons and MH-60S Knighthawks bear Marine Corps FAST units ashore, followed by several commanders of the Western Asian fleet components and their bodyguards. These personnel drive airlifted HMMWVs and M-Gators to General Bey's representatives and offices.

Once they have arrived, they provide the General with a Statement of Surrender that also provides for the care and transport of his forces back to Daylami Iran within a week's time.

Already, several Western Asian transport planes are being landed on the two largest islands and Daylami personnel from the other islands are being transported to the major cities of Gran Canaria and Tenerife.

Within a day, Operation: Tsunami has drawn to a close.

Isla De El Hierro

Azid sat on the ground, his back resting against the old wall around one of the gardens of the richer people in Valverde. He felt terribly guilty for killing enemy troops, while their commander had already completely surrendered, but due lack of good communications between the Daylami marines, they had still fought further, causing the unnecessary killing of their own troops and theirs. Losses of Bravo Company were high, nine wounded and twelve marines dead, plus one wrecked LAV.

From the amphibious landing ships, more troops were sent, this time the battalion's support element. Immediatly when they got on the island, medical and logistical facilities were installed. They ground element of the battalion retreated their forces from the inland and took their dead, wounded or maimed buddies back to the two major towns near the shore.

Luckily, all harbor facilities, like cranes, dockyards and storehouses, were still intact, allowing quicker deployment of heavier focres and easier supplying the deployed forces. Overall losses were high as well, the opposing marines had mostly fought to death, resulting in twenty-three wounded Al-Sabirians as well as twenty Al-Sabirians dead. There were no major losses of material or equipment, except for the LAV of Bravo company.

The few Daylami prisoners were flown to the Glory, to stay in custody until the negotiations were finished...

Yet the Magdhan pilots still resisted, they knew that they just had to absorb some damage before their own F-22s arrived. And they were here, on the horizon 150 Magdhan F-22s simultaneously fired their AIRAMM missiles and closed to fire the sidewinders. Air Superiority was in their grasp.

Magdhan troops began to charge forward supported by modified Abrams tanks mounting flamethrowers. The tanks burned the trenches while Magdhan soldiers grew closer and closer, guns at the ready, chanting devotions to Indra.

Hudecian marines stormed into the city near midnight, surprising a small band of ex-Daylami soldiers who had been camping there. Several stolen artillery pieces were captured along with a fair amount of weapons and ammo.

By morning a larger band of ex-Daylami troops counter attacked, forcing the Hudecians to call in backup. Hudecian casualties were evacuated by helicopter.

By noon fighting had abated as the Hudecian armour arrived to clean up the mess. Sensing that a larger group organizing, the Hudecian division drove across the river into Shihezi where another pitched battle occured.

Retreating back across the river to regroup, the Hudecians called in airstrikes. Artillery also arrived and was employed to demoralize the ex-Daylami troops. Finally, in the evening, the Hudecian armour again attacked across the river, scattering the rebels.

"He means no disrepect sir, but, what Daylami Iran? The General says he and his men need food and medical supplies and then will be joined to whatever armed forces are to be in control of the former Daylami territories."

OOC: I didnt say that my men were better trained, just, trained. JSFs and F-16s are going to be shot out of the sky by F-22s quite easily. A mixed F-22/F-16/JSF force will be defeated as well.

Operation: Cyrus, Khusru's invasion of governmental territory

General Mehmet Sayyih withdrew into the fortress of Alamut as the Shah's armies approached under their commander, General Shapur.

The astute Persian general surveyed Alamut's defenses with UAVs (which were promptly blown out of the sky by the massive AA defenses) and the ordered an all-out attack to bring down the fortress.
This, as Shapur never found out, was a mistake.
The First Wave

Shapur ordered forward the first wave of textbook assault units. They were crowded together on the slim path leading up to Alamut, the only place where vehicles could successfully get through. Light enemy artillery fire hit their rear and exarbated the rush to get to the top. After a good portion of the assault units had gotten on the path, a single button was pressed in Alamut. Massive mine explosions ripped apart the ground, and the assault forces took massive losses. Immediately following this, a huge artillery strike hit the dazed Persian forces. A few stragglers, after being serenaded with machine gun fire, returned to tell the tale of the disastrous defeat.

The Second Wave
General Shapur was not a smart man, nor handsome, and especially not patient. But he did possess resolve. And therefore he prepared a second assault, to be better supported.
Persian strike aircraft filled the air, and was met by a half-hearted TPAF response. In glee, and thinking themselves possessed of air superiority, they began attacking the fabled city of Alamut. There was apparently no response, and so they grew bolder, flying lower and lower.

All at once, a maelstrom broke out as massive quantities of missiles flew up and sent hundreds of planes to the ground. Persian pilots watched their comrades go down in droves. Then, all fell quiet again.
Most of the PAF decided to get the hell out of dodge when Raptors were among them again, striking everywhere at once. What was left of the PAF was returning to base, when Shapur ordered in the second phase, arrogantly assuming the air strike had succeeded.
A large artillery strike was leveled at the minefields, and then the assault units rushed over the twisted ground.

Further up the path, they encountered no resistance, and continued on. Some of them leasurely waved to the strike aircraft flying overhead. Until they saw the celestial wolves painted on their sides. Most threw down their arms and ran. But not quick enough. The massive governmental air strike crippled the assault forces. What was left was subject to the retaliatory artillery strike that ended all hopes for the continued operation of the army.

The few stragglers left joined the survivors of the first assault. General Shapur looked around in disbelief and wondered where his air support had gone to. Suddenly, cries of "For the Qaghan!" erupted around the camps as the TPA armored divisions slammed into his camp while Apaches moved in from above.

General Shapur continued staring around in disbelief as a bayonet slit his throat.

Another wave representing the entire Thar desert advanced interceptor force- 300 F-22s moved in. The battered remains of the F-16 forces headed back to base. They had completed their task, hold the Daylami airforce off and soften it.

The flame tanks did their final sweep of the trench- burning the entire length with cleansing napalm. The Magdhan soldiers closed to ten meters of the trench, mounding their bayonets and drawing sabres. They coninued to advance- 9 meters, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 and then they ran over the top and swarmed the trench.

Operation: Scythian Arrow

Mehmet Sayyih watched with glee as half of the Shah's military strength was eaten up by the teeth of Alamut.

As the last remnants of Operation: Cyrus were interned in Alamut's POW camps, Sayyih launched Operation: Scythian Arrow, the TPQD counter-attack.

290,000 men exited via tunnel Alamut's defenses and struck out into Persian territory.

Meanwhile, the Shah himself was in a state of panic. He would perhaps be able to slow down the government's assault but not halt it. Feverishly he sent a message to the warlord al-Mustali offering joint alliance against the government.
The feeble al-Mutali, weakest of the four major warlords, and unable to stand against any independant power, eagerly joined his two hundred thousand total troops to the last Persian army of three hundred thousand to form a new Allied Muslim Persian Army, or AMPA. Al-Mustali assumed a secondary role in the union, leaving the Shah as supreme commander of a rejuvenated military.

Mehmet Sayyih could not know of the formation of the AMPA or its military might, and so he moved towards reconquering Tehran, which held a tiny garrison of barely ten thousand men. This he accomplished with ease, and prepared to attack Yazd, thereby restoring government control to Central Iran.

En route to Yazd was the new combined AMPA army.

"He means no disrepect sir, but, what Daylami Iran? The General says he and his men need food and medical supplies and then will be joined to whatever armed forces are to be in control of the former Daylami territories."
Vice Admiral Kemal responds after a few seconds of thought.

"As the situation stands, the Daylami government still controls the heart of Iran, especially around the Tehran area and the traditional Daylami seat in the north. Western Asian forces control many of the southern ports and parts of the Northwest. Rebelious former Daylami forces and warlords hold the central-southern and the eastern regions as Daylam's more traditional enemies are advancing from the East. I'd think that your men would not look well upon working for our forces or for those of your Eastern enemies, but an independant nation in the Southeast could probably ensured for your men to control."

The Vice Admiral waits for the interpreter to catch up before he continues.

"The medical supplies are already being distributed at medical stations we're trying to set up on this and the other Western Asian-held islands. We're willing to extend these efforts to the other islands once hostilities have completely ceased there and we're given the green light. We will bring in any food that your men require from our own stores.

"Wherever you and your men may choose to settle, we will seek to accomodate the request as rapidly and safely as possible. If your men would like to settle here or in other Western Asian territory, especially in the State of Turkey, as civilians then they are welcome to do so and will be provided with housing and support in their new lives. Family that are refugees from the Iranian sector will be given free passage to wherever your men may choose."

Kemal breathes heavily, "The truth is, General, that nobody really knows too much about the situation on the ground. I have been ordered to put our transport resources to your service and I have been authorized to offer those options. If you have an...alternate idea of what should happen then I will do my best to make all parties happy with the result."

The Vice Admiral's staff work on computers to open the documents for revision as they await the General's response.

The Magdhan soldiers took position in the now empty trenches, or what was left of them. "Ready the TOWs!!!" screamed the officers. Several TOW launchers prepared and fired their missiles at the incoming T-90s.

The new mobile chain cannon prepared another volley- Airbursting rounds only. The Weapon began to spin as it spat 40 Rounds every second out at the charging Kashmiris, showering them with srapnel. For thirsty seconds the cannon fired for thirty murderous seconds. In the skies fifty F-22s patrolled over the cannon. The volley continued with alsmost 10 155mm guns. The 16 inch turret fired it's massive shells to the mix.

The Tank division returned fire, the massive R-409 fired its two 155mm turrets, and so did the abrams tanks- their fire control systems targeted the T-90s and other vehicles. JSFs and f-22s soared overhead, JSFs dropping cluster munitions on the Kashmiris.

A flight of E-6s accompanied them, jamming radars and firing their HARM missiles at the radar sites.

The Kashmiri advance was beaten to the ground by the Hindu fire. Kemal Rej took the bloody nose and retreated to the second line of defense.

Meanwhile, the combined AMPA army won the race to Yazd, where they proceeded to foil any attempts by the much smaller governmental forces under General Mehmet Sayyih to dislodge them. He withdrew in defeat towards Tehran.

However, the Shah did not pursue. Western Asian forces had seized southern Iran and soon would be upon him. In reality he had less than a prayer, but in his mind he was an all-conquering hero. He led a small Persian contingent towards Bandar Abbas, to 'deal' with the enemy, leaving al-Mustali in control of most of the AMPA forces.

Meanwhile, General Bey looked sorrowfully at the WA admiral.

The interpreter again spoke.

"Sir, my men have seen enough of war. They received little to no food from the government, and their families the same treatment. The standing ten-million man army ensured that. I have spoken to the men many, many times, their sentiments are the same: let us have our families and leave the rest of our lives in peace, fully fed and fully able to work for our own living and not so we can all finance wars in some far-off place. With your permission, we will lay down our arms and be re-settled in the State of Turkey, where we will hopefully be met by our families after this is all over."

The chain cannon had been moved as a precaution to retaliation. Still guarded by air as a precaution for attack it opened fire with high explosive rounds- showering the kashmiris with 2400 Rounds a minute. The 16 inch turret joined in this caucophany, firing three shells at a time at the positions, oftern burying intself 30 feet into the ground before exploding. The 10 permanant 155mm guns joined in, as did the M-109s. In the sky A-10s moved in to napalm and strafe the positions.

The Vice Admiral looked at the General with immense compassion, "Sir, I respect you and your men. Your dedication to them and their well-being is the true mark of a gentleman and an officer. They fought well as long as they fought and we will respect your wishes. We are due to receive the first direct delivery of supplies to Gran Canaria the day after tomorrow via a group of five Pelican ULTRA and ten C-130J-30 transports. The first few thousand of your men should be able to return on those.

"We will provide you with the homes where you want. We will start the process of naturalizing your men as Western Asian citizens of the State of Turkey this afternoon. I will do all that I can to make this process easy and rapid. Western Asian civil servants will do their best to provide all of your men with jobs and to coordinate the immigration of their families.

"Now, one last question: Will you and your officers join us all for dinner tonight? We will try to have group dinners for all of our men...about half of our personnel are from Turkey and so they should have a lot to talk about with your men."

MESSAGE TO: The United States of Western Asia
MESSAGE FROM: Kemal Rej, ruler of Northern Afghanistan and Kashmir
SUBJECT: Surrender Terms

It has come to the attention of General Kemal Rej that the USWA is a tolerant, diverse, succesful land. As such, would you be willing to assume sovereignty over the lands currently under my control? These have already been pacified by my military forces. Of all of the forces assaulting the lands formerly under corrupt communistic qaghanate control, you are by far the worthiest in his eyes.

Please reply ASAP,

Your humble servant,
Kemal Rej.

OOC: I'm not clear on the realities behond Rej's position (and It's 1225am already as I must be up at 5am)..but I'll play along. MESSAGE TO: Kemal Rej, ruler of Northern Afghanistan and Kashmir
MESSAGE FROM: Chaim Drucker, President of the USWA, Commander-in-Chief of the IDF.
SUBJECT: Re: Surrender Terms

Honorable General Rej,
We accept your offered surrender to Western Asian authority. We will begin moving forces into the area within 2 day's time. Until a proper democratic civil government can be established, we ask you to serve as the Governor and official Representative of Western Asia in this sector. Send us the current border outline for international announcements and we will place our forces along those lines once access is gained.

We ask that you convey news of our assumption of control to your people and any other forces operating in the area.

Your Friend,
Chaim

>>>GINA NEWS FLASH>>>

In a surprise announcement this afternoon, the President's office in Jerusalem announced to a special assembly of the High Congress that one General Kemal Raj had offered to turn over control of his sector of the former Daylami Empire to Western Asian provisional control.

The High Congress passed the resolution to accept the offer in a close vote that yielded a 69% 'Aye' with 12% placing a "Nay" vote. The remaining 19% of legislators either abstained or were not present. This satisfies the 2/3rds vote required to incorporate new territories into the United States of Western Asia. The meeting's original purpose, the acceptance of Canary Island territories, passed with an 80% approval rate. The High Congress also stated that this territory would be accepted as a new State within the USWA.

While there are reports that other forces are currently involved in the claimed area, Western Asia is believed to be strong and respectable enough to end the conflicts there with negotiations or overwhelming force.

In related events, IDF progress in the mission to stabilize the collapsing Daylami territories of Iran are reportedly stunning. The port cities to the south and their resource processing centers were taken with moderate fighting although the IDF Spokeswoman said that the combatants seem to be mostly criminal elements that are trying to establish their own civil control or the forces of warlords that have taken over the majority of the south. Several nuclear plants, nuclear weapons facilities, and missile facilities have been captured in the advance and the missiles present have been either destroyed or disabled. It is reported that at least a dozen of the missiles bore nuclear warheads although those units were not ready to fire. Specialists from Dimona are reportedly being sent to the captured nuclear sites to oversee the disabling of any nuclear weapons present and to oversee the control of nuclear power plants that serve the local populations.

The IDF Engineering Corps and Magen David Adom has reportedly called up all 34 of it's regional 280-person Disaster Relief Crews (DRCs) as well as all 20 Reserve DRCs for service in aiding the local populations with recovery from the recent violence. Some 14,000 IDF-EC personnel will be accompanying the 34 active DRCs with almost 10,000 more personnel reportedly being organized for service with the 20 reserve groups.

In the Northwestern part of the country, IDF Army Corps personnel have secured several other facilities as well as two regional capitols. Soldiers were reportedly greeted with open arms in several villages as well as in these major cities. Humanitarian workers from several NGOs arrived in these towns a few hours after the initial Western Asian arrival and reported the majority of the population to be in good health. Makeshift POW camps on the outskirts of Tabriz already include hundreds of former Daylami personnel that are being held until they can be recorded by the International Society for the Red Cross's officers in Magen David Adom, at which point they will either be released, handed over to local civil authorities, or held for longer terms.

(Seeing as quite a bit of time has passed since my last post, I'll assume my forces have completely resecured Xinjiang.)

As Taiwanese forces reach the Xinjiang-Kazakhstan border, an official ceremony is held at a border post marking the end of the defensive war. From now on, this would be an offensive operation into enemy territory.

The advance had been relatively painless, with superior air firepower destroying the last dangerous remnants of the TPA, who were now almost completely disorganised. The few left were few and far. (OOC: Hope you don't mind.)

From the Maharajah to the Great Nation of Western Asia-

We are willing to accept your annexation of Kamal Rej's lands, you are a great nation and Magdha has no interest in his lands.

Save one bit of contention: Kashmir, Thousands of Magdhans have died trying to retrieve Kashmir over the past few days and we are still fighting and men are still dying to retrieve it. Kashmir is a land that has been claimed by Magdha for many years and many lives have been lost over it, to give it up would be an insult to our dead soldiers.

We hope you accept-
Maharajah Harsha of Magdha.

The Magdhan soldiers advanced forward towards the second line of defense. Bradley IFVs threaded amongst them, scanning for hidden snipers with infrared gear. The men carried M-16s at the ready wit ha few sporting M-249s or M-49 Dragons. TOW missile teams lugged their heavy gear forward along with M-60 Machinegun teams. Officers led the charge with their sabers in hand, chanting blessings or prayers.

The R-409 readjusted firing coordinates and shot both massive 155mm guns at Muslim lines, a chorus joined in by the Abrams- finding the vehicles and engaging them with their 120mm guns. A soft roar was audible, the M-109s attached to the armor divisions opened fire simultaneously. Apache gunships flew over the armored column, staying near the rear to avoid SA-7s or stingers.

In the air a F-22 escorted flight of A-10s fired their massive cannons at Kashmiri lines. They passed over the Kashmiris and dropped napalm on the men below. More came, dropping cluster bombs or 2000 pound bombs.

Message to Kemal Rej from Maharajah Harsha of Magdha-

I Harsha, Brother to the Divine, King of Kings, Maharajah of Magdha send greetings to the court of Kemal Rej.

Magdhan forces continue to advance, my strength is overwhelming and I can commit far more then now. I have pounded your defenses to dust and crushed your defenders.

I give you now one chance- surrender now, cede me Kashmir and I shall grant you great wealth, nobility, and an estate.

Maharajah Harsha of Magdha.

In the air twelve B-52s were escorted by three times as many F-22s. E-6s jammed radars and fired HARM missiles at them. The B-52s were close to the second line when they let their payloads go. Bombs fell out of the planes and fell down to the area below.

On the ground men could see and hear the massive explosions. Clouds of dust flew into the air with each, darkening the sky and showering flame around.

With the majority of Xinjiang now successfully pacified by allied forces, it was time to take the war into ex-Daylami states.

Commander Reid had been planning for an assault into Kyrgyzstan so a good deal of his forces had been deployed along the Xinjiang-Kyrgyzstan border. He had relocated his forward base of operations to Aksu and Kashi, and from there, the war for Kyrgyzstan would be waged.

Over half a million Hudecian troops would be involved in this operation, with the intent to sweep out the mountainous border with speed and efficiency in order to prevent them from being used as a base of operations against targets in Xinjiang.

Moving through the mountains was slow going, thanks to repeated hit-and-run attacks by ex-Daylami forces. Where real organized resistance occured, it would be pounded from the air before infantry and attack helicopters would move in to secure the area.

By the end of the first day, Naryn was close to being captured, and Hudecian troops had entered Oytal, a city stuck in the Alai Mountains.

Tamerlane had been moved to a safe, undisclosed location somewhere in Xinjiang.

(OOC: Daylam, do you mind if I take over RPing for Tamerlane? or do you want to continue to control him? Might be better if you did control him, but if you are busy... also, we've moved him to Karamay.. but you guys (Sino) will have to figure that out somehow...)

Information on the five factions fighting in Daylam

Jiang Yue: Code-name "Tamerlane". Former commander of the Daylami trained and equipped Front for the Stability of Turkic Xinjiang, (FSTX). After the collapse of Daylam he became the de facto ruler of western and central Xinjiang. If offered a large sum of money and autonomy for the Uyghurs he is likely to disarm. If terms are harsh he will go guerrilla with over 500,000 fighters. A very tactically smart person, though always looking for luxury.

Shah Khusru II: Ruler of much of south-eastern Iran, he possesses a well-trained air force. Only slight less powerful than Kemal Rej in terms of military strength. Highly ambitious, but also quite vain. He has taken the title of Shah, meaning ruler in Persian. A good strategist, though open to over-estimating his own skill.

al-Mustali. A Sunni cleric. He revolted with Khusru, but when he learned of Khusru's ambition (and his wanting of a pure Persian state), he left him, losing in several major battles fought in Central Iran. He posseses a domain centered around Ahwaz. He is the most likely to cooperate with coalition forces.

Kemal Rej . The strongest and smartest of the warlords. He is now the ruler of all of Northern Afghanistan and Kashmir. A former guerrilla leader that became a TPA general. Nearly all of the TPA in his domain revolted with him and he possesses a well-trained, well-armed, well-entrenched army. Militarily the strongest. He is also quite fanatical and will take the most to cow.

Qaghan Kül Tigin II : Technically not a warlord, this is the leader of the TPQD, the official government of Daylam. He is on the verge of suicide. He is a military genius, but lacks common sense. One to make a heroic last stand and never give in to demands, which will likely be his downfall.

(REPOSTED HERE FOR EVERYONE'S USE, I HOPE THIS HELPED, DAYLAM POSTED THIS IN OOC THREAD, I THINK ITS BETTER TO HAVE IT HERE TO FOR EVERYONE TO SEE WHILE RPING)

Jiang Yue, code named Tamerlane, surrendered to Hudecian military authorities after the massacre of Hami. Currently, the Hudecian government is refusing to disclose his location but insists that all precautions necessary are in place to ensure his safety.

His fighters, although reduced in number by the Sinoese assaults are still very much active in local areas under the protection of the Hudecian military. The majority of the fighters are employed as police.

IC: General Demark slowly breathed in the brisk desert breeze. Before him were arrayed the battle-ready soldiers of the 2nd and 3rd Armored Divisions. Over the past week, Demark had carefully laid the battleplans that would grant Granzian troops Southern Kazakhstan, currenly under the sway of numerous bands of warlords. Th bulk of his army had regrouped at the border city of Huochen, ready for the initial thrust in the former Daylami empire.

From his foward command center at Yining, Demark would coordinate the various attacks. The 2nd and 3rd Armored Divisions would serve as the vanguard, leading a lightning blitzkreig down the main road toward the junction at Saryozek. Closely follwing would be the 11th, 13th Light Armor, 22nd, and 29th Mechanized Divisions. The entire attack would be channeled into an arrow point narrow enough to proved a concentrated front, while maintaining a wide enough frontier to safeguard against counterattacks.

Meanwhile, a secondary operation would commence 300 miles to the north, begiinig at the Xinjiang city of Tacheng. The 5th Armored Division would strike first in this sector, after which the 14th Light Armor and 24th Mechanized would dispose of any remaining resistance. The 67th Airborne is to land near the city of Zharkent on the path of the main thrust to secure the vital crossroads there. All in all, any forces would be caught in gigantic pincer, and eliminated from the battlefield.

At precisely 10:20, it began. Hundreds of tanks roared across the border to the sound of artillery booming out the attack. Border defense were relatively light, and the flatter terrain ideal for armored vehicles to cross. In the city of Zharkent, the rat-tat-tat of machine gun fire ran rife through the city blocks, as the elite 67th battle insurgents for control of the main throughfares. The attack bogged down in several areas, where teams of infantry fought by blowning through one house to the next.

Any organized resistance was immediately bombed and straffed by Granzian aircraft based in Xinjiang. Batteries of mortars and heavy cannons were brought to the front and continued to shell enemy positions. At the end of the first day, lead elements have arrived at Zharkent's outskirts, though firefights erupted at several quarters. The city of Maqanshy in the north had been occupied by Granzian troops as well.

-Naryn-

1100 hours

Hudecian troops marched through the streets of this scenice mountain town. The city had been secured by advance groups of the Hudecian 3rd Division hours earlier.

Fighting through the mountainous terrain had taken its toll on both man and machine. Armoured divisions found themselves often stuck in the barely passable roads. Attacks on these convoys were causing heavy casualties. Enough trouble was caused that Commander Reid had changed tactics.

Armour would not be employed against targets in this mountainous region anymore. Helicopter gunships and attack fighters would be the primary source of support, with some light artillery.

-Karakol-

1500 hours

Helicopters ferried in advance troops into the city under heavy fire from local forces. Fighting continues on the outskirts of the town until nightfall, when the main force arrives.

Kemal Rej sent the required information to Western Asia via radio communications, as well as a small note about one Maharajate of Maghda.

"Please note that the racist, corrupt maharajate (great realm in Hindi)of Maghda has launched several well-formed attacks into Pakistani Kashmir, though they have been checked by Kashmiri forces. They have asked for the complete annexation of Kashmir into their raj. I ask that you do not allow this. The government of Maghda has participated in many, many massacres of Muslims. Maghdan Kashmir is overwhelmingly Muslim and I myself have fought to free it, to no avail. Any Maghdan assumption of power against Kashmir would result in the death of millions of already-starving Kashmiris. Please, do not allow it. You are the last hope for Kashmir. If I were in your place I would liberate Maghdan Kashmir as well, but it is not my choice. I have seen too many Muslims die at the hands of Hindu armies. Do not let their blood be on your head."

With that, Kemal Rej turned to the Maghdan envoy arriving. He listened perfunctorily to their ultimatums.

"Know that my northern Afghan and Kashmiri territories are now a state in Western Asia. We will not surrender and I doubt the good Western Asian leader will look fondly on a Hindu attack on his territories. Be gone, fools, there will be no surrender."

As they scurried out of the room, Kemal turned to his second-in-command.

"Give orders to fly the Western Asian flag in every company."

With that, huge flagpoles bearing WA flags are risen over the trenches of Kashmir and painted on the sides of Kashmiri Raptors.

The artillery duel stopped as Kemal allowed the realization of what had happened sink into the Hindu army.

In Iran, the Shah's army, what was left of it, was thrown out of Tehran for the third time by Operation: Scythian Arrow. Alamut had decimated another attacker.

The Shah himself was leading his twenty thousand men towards WA-held Southern Iran as al-Mutali took control of the AMPA forces.

If we find that our enemy has defiled women or harmed holy men or the elderly or infirm, or that they have abused prisoners we are to drown those we find responsible as they do not deserve to die like men.

The Islamic people had been shamed by the Hindu's invasion of Muslim Lands, nor Omar Ibn Gammar was going to set things right.

He boarded his pickup truck and checked the detonators and explosives. All were excellent, enough to destroy an office but sadly such a target was not the case this time. This time it was another temple- the place where the pagan Hindus believe the false god Vishnu incarnated himself into Ram. It had been build over the Babri Masjid Mosque which had been built over the old temple destroyed in the name of Allah. He drove forward down the road, a short clean street leading straight to the gates in front of the Temple. Soon the Mosque's destruction and Kashmir's occupation would be avenged. He pickup smashed through the columns into the main chamber and there he detonated his car with the scream of Allah Ackbar.

Hindus around Magdha would cry for their beloved idol.

"Sir it seems that a popular uprising is occuring against us among the Bedou population." The young colonel reported.

Commander Reid shrugged a little. These Bedouin immigrants would likely be viewed with disdain by the local population since they had to make way for over a hundred million of them. Still, he didn't like the idea of fighting hard at all.

"Find out who their leader is and get me in contact with him." Reid said at last. As much as Reid disliked the Sinoese tactics, they were proving to be useful. If the Sinoese came here, the Bedou population would be facing a genocide unprecedented in proportions. But first, the Hudecians needed to prove that they were willing to stand against the Sinoese.

The Xiannese troops have entered Lhasa, Kashi, and Korla has secured the cities. Martial law is issued within the city and ex-Daylami troops will be kept in prisons until further notice.

The Xiannese Socialists Constitutional Monarchy condemns Sino once again and Xiannese troops are given order to arrest or charge any Sinoese troop if caught committing war crimes.

We would like to applaud Hudecia's stand against Sino's criminal acts toward the Daylami populous.

Xiannese troops have also reached Changmar and Rutag, which is less then 18-80miles awat from Aksai Chin.

Meanwhile, Xiannese special forces begin a major sweep across Xianjiang and Northern Tibet capturing Daylamis and transporting them to Nei Mongolia for safety under Xiaguo.

Changmar, the nearest "City" to Aksai China and borders have been fortified and artillery placements are secured withing the city. City rodas have been closed down and barbed wire and walls have been built to keep the people in and the enemy out. Sinoese forces are not allowed withing the city and all civilians are to stay within all Xiannese controlled cities. Humanitarian aid has been shipped to all coalition held cities. A 30million bill was passed by the Congress to provide humanitarian aid to Daylami, and refugees in all warzons and devestated regions.

Hudecian troops arrested 3 Sinoese soldiers after they murdered an ex-Daylami soldier. The three have been charged with murder in the first degree and will be tried in a local manner under Hudecian protection.

Private first Class Chen Guangning could not bear the fact that, he is now under arrest by the Hudecian.

"Goddamn Hudecians are our allies, but they never understand the feelings and emotions when you hear of stories of Daylamis raping your wife and killing your children." His mind tells himself.

What he did was just and right. A Daylami soldier, he and his two compatriots had saw was retreating slowly but still a threat. That piece of sh*t was limping, perhaps internally wounded, at a point of fighting his bodily calls of collapse. It was barely 100m away, they were on routine patrol.

"Look at that f*cking piece of sh*t." Private Nie told him, pointing in the direction of the pathetic creature.

"Tell ya what?" Chen briefed his two Basic Privates. "We'll shoot him in the arms. But leave the torso clean."

In a few seconds, they did what they were told. The bullets pierced the bastard's weak limbs. Forcing a total collapse. A haorse scream erupted before a thud as it was crushed under its burden of a heavy pack.

"Hey Chen, let me finish him off!" Hu expressed a shared enthusiasm.

"No. Fix your bayonets men. We've had few opportunities to use them."

"You're genius Chen, last time I remembered using one o' these was back at basic training on those louzy sandbags!'

The three men laughed before they charged towards the source of hoarse screaming, turned that S.O.B. over and jabbed him until his uniform was all soaked from desert camo to a thick, dark red.

Whilst they were walking back to their checkpoint, a Hudecian helicopter threatened them with a burst of .50cal, calling them to surrender.

"What the f*ck's this." Chen could not believe his senses. Later they were arrested.

Chen, 22 years of age thought of his girlfriend back home, clearing his mind of the humiliating arrest. Damn Hudecians! naturally, he undoes his boots, it smells bad. but there is a sweetner somewhere.

Unzipping a miniature pouch in the leather interior, he popped out his cyanide tablet, remembering what was taught in basic training.

It was perhaps the most unanimous decision in Taiwanese parliamentary - the aptly named bill to "Contain Maghdan Agression" was passed 101-19, in part due to support from the ultra-nationalist United China Party, which had seen it's poll ratings increase in the last two wars.

Of course, the bill had been watered down greatly - the original bill was an intent to "Use force to contain Maghdan aggression". Time would tell whether it was the right choice.

In the Great black tents of Sultan Mohammed Bin Al Deeb, in the Bedou controlled Sweden. The other nations of the fenian alliance Bedou had joined were recieving a messege from the Mohammed that his people were in great danger.
The 250,000,000 other Bedou that had been strategically "exported" under the guise of immigration were also being actived.(ooc: I will post a link to the thread later, yes I have 250,000,000 bedou who were invited into your neighbors backyards).
A messege was being sent to the WestWood alliance for military support in Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan, the Bedou would back out of Kazakstan as it is not completely secured. Though the Kazakstanis would be welcomed to flee the fighting should these infidel armies pressure them.
It is with the greatest of of Allahs graces that Bedouins are the most respected group of peoples in Islam because they live in almost completely the same fashion as the Prophet lived.
Mohammed Bin Al Deeb, knew his people garnered the respect of muslims globally even muslims who were not sunni.
He entertained briefly the thought of proclaiming Jihad, but this would not
be in keeping with the truth of the Quran.
He prepared a a statement for GNN satellite televion.
"Strife in the nation of Daylam, the most gracious and compassionate benefactor of our people, has forced us to assume stewardship Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan in their defence from the hoards of greedy dogs that tear at the flesh of that great nation.
We are annoucing Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan independence from Daylam.
We will defend these muslim nations who greated us so warmly to the last.
Our enemies veiw our desire to live the harsh life as a weakness, as a sign of backwardness, they veiw the muslim devotion as madness and fanatisism.
Now we will show them that these 'harsh fanatics' are many things, but cowards none of us be.
We fought the good fight with the Christian Lawrence, we fight the good fight for memory of the great people Daylam.
We killed Germans, Romans, we took war to all those who would cross our lands, oppress our faith, we have defended the Christian and the Jew, and cut at the heel of the JackBoot of oppression even in muslim nations. Our enemies this day are many, but so too they will see are our friends and so to are the words of the Prophet, and the Will of Allah."
Sultan Mohammed raised his hand to quite the young men who gathered out side his tent for the spectacle.
"Seek not war, but when it is brought to you, give back what is given.
Seek not the enemy for you have none save those who seek you as theirs.
Seek surely the vigilance of Allah, his wisdom and mercy.
You all know well the rules of war we abide by, and no man will forsake them, for if he does he forsakes the will of Allah.
Now Take me to the Lawrence Seglawi, I go to Kyrgyzstan to seek my fate."

"Our forces control the majority of Kyrgyzstan but seem to be running into increasing resistance from the Bedou elements. They are trying to appeal to the population and are portraying us as the invaders." Colonel Quereshi reported. Reid snorted.

"We wouldn't be here if Daylam hadn't invaded these states and filled them with foreigners. I think we can expect a good deal of support from local ethnic population. Especially after we restored order so effectively." Commander Reid ranted. "Before we came ex-Daylami troops were plundering the area. We came and put an end to all of that."

"Sir, should we continue to push forward or not?"

"Of course, we don't want to be seen to be idle in the face of a growing threat. However, try to get me in contact with the Bedou local leadership..."

OOC: Bedou, I do control a fair portion of Kyrgyzstan already and will likely control the rest very soon. ALthough your local militias will cause me grief I'd like you to RP that. Like, how many are in Kyrgyzstan itself and where they are mostly located.

I'm not sure how secure Kazakhstan is, I think Granzi is the one moving on up there.

Thousands of shouldered fired stingers in the kilometers airspace made any Hudecianese CAS impossible.
It became apparent that the Hudecia would have come on foot.

What bodies were recovered were buried outside of the town in a makeshift graveyard. As the Granzi national anthem played, the coffin bearers of the 67th slowly lowered each casualty into the earth. The attack had been the deadliest since the commencement of the operation in Kazakhstan, leaving 34 dead and another 54 wounded. Anti-terrorist raids had begun in the outlaying area, as well-coordinated sweeps sought to capture persons of interest. So far, nearly a dozen foreigners had been detained.

In other reaches of the campaign, the northern thrust had taken the town of Qabanbay, securing the road to the urban centers in and around Taldyqorghan. There, the advance halted. In the territories already pacified, the commanders sought to consolidate their holdings. Checkpoints on the major throughfares were constructed and bases built. The local population was restored to order, and humanitarian aid doled out. Quiet prevailed over much of the northern sector.

In the hotspot of Zharkent, violence erupted once more, culminating in a rash of murder and robbery. Martial law along with a 9:00 curfew was imposed and heighted patrols tried to ease the upsurge. Reinforcements and supplied contined to come up the main road from Xinjiang in heavy convoys. The bulk was sent toward Saryozek in anticipation of a possible continued offensive against terrorists. A brigade of light armor ventured to the south, and seized the mountain village of Shonzhy. Only light fire was encountered, and any rebels cleared out. A raid by a pair of EA-22D gunship sucessfully destroyed a weapons cache to the northwest.

Thank you for respondng to our transmission. Our forces are currently seeking out any rebels in the areas under Granzian control. Due to the recent unfortunant attack that left dozens dead or wounded at Saryozek, we feel this is for our own protection. Our forces have been told not to advance beyond these raids, and wait for continued orders. I have been inpowered to begin negotiations at the earliest date. We ask for permission to secure Northern Kazakhstan in order to restore order to the area. As far has we understand, that area is not under the Bedou, and is currently under the sway of various warlords or bands of bandits. For the sake of stability, I ask for a small force to begin humanitarian missions in that sector. In Southern Kazakhstan, Granzian troops will not venture out of area currently under our control, unless in the case of raids on terror.

For the benfit of Daylami nationals we will not return control of these nations to Daylam. We will however extend to them the same courtesy that was extended to us, sanctuary, mercy and the hope of peace.
Any relief workers are free to move about any area, any area at all.
However please have them plainly marked.
Given your proximity to our people we certain you have noted the male BEdou custom of staying armed, this is a constant act, and not one specifically for the purpose of fighting your men. Ignore it, and it will ignore you.
You will see large troop movements from the north as forces regress away from the Kazak border.
Several thousand tanks and aircraft will begin concentrating in Taji and Kyrg.
We again thank you for showing such wisdom in this matter."

He then began recording a messege to both nations.
"This messege is concerning the matter of Kazakstan.
We are and will withdrawing from Kazakstan.
However the reason Daylam placed us in three regions is because there are so many of us and the Daylami government was attempting to Accomadate our traditional life style.
We ask that we be allowed to Annex a portion of southern Kazakstan into both Taji and Kyrg.
Allowing Kazakstan proper to maintain mineral rights and the like but giving us the space we originally were seeking.
Or another alternative might be a government for Kazakstan head by a council from Bedou, Granzi, and Hudecia. Making the nation itself a protectorate of the three nations there by ensuring that it cannot be reclaimed by anyone group. While still allowing Daylami national, Bedou, Hudecians, and Grani citizens to move freely about the nation.
Please consider the possibilities."

Gen. Liu of Sino would like the Bedou to humbly withdraw from China as even nomadic races have to recognise estalished national boudaries. If they wish to settle peacefully in China they should consider the immigration services of Sino or China, not through means of foul.

The ARSA is prepared to provide logistical support for the movements of Bedou peoples back to their homes. We have enough trucks and IFVs for such a task.

Hudecian troops based outside this city have already begun the process of an orderly withdrawl from the area. The report of the Bedou agreement to the arrangement had stirred up a lot of action in the Hudecian military command as they prepared to withdraw.

There was some concern about leaving a job half finished, but there was no way that the Hudecian Army was interested in trying to fight several million heavily armed troops.

Transmission to the Bedou:

General Demark is willing to meet personally with the Bedou leadership in order to work out the finer details of negotiations. As for preliminary drafts, we are willing to cede the southern area of Kazakhstan to the Bedou, where they are the predominate ethnicity. This area would include the capital of Almaty and the surrounding area. Saryozek and Zharkent will be transfered to the Bedou, and Bedou territory would stretch northwest up to and including the city of Saryshagan. To the west, the city of Zhangaqorghan would be part of Bedou land. The border in the north would Beskol, with the Bedou recieving the urban center of Taldyqorghan.

If this is acceptable, Granzian troops will immediately turn over sovereignty to the Bedou and leave the above areas. Granzi, in return, will retain Northern Kazakhstan bound by the above borders and including the far western area touching the Caspian and Aral Seas. We await your response.

The Council of Fenians had reviewed the international claims of the land in it's current reguard to the Bedou claim for use of the unified JDF in enforcing land rights several years old.
Gentlemen, it has been determined that the Nation of Daylam was with in it's rights to allocate the placement of the Bedou to the nations in question.
That being the case the Bedou were legal residents of the of the nations previous and leading up to the current conflict. Leaving them the right by international law to reasonbly resist annexation by the Sinoese. Their right to resist is by its very nature embued upon the nations of Kazakstan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.
The Bedou Sultan has suggested relinquishing Kazakstan partialy.
We suggest the annex of Kazakstan to Sino with the provision that any Bedou who remain treat the Sino as the (Hosting) Nation.
We suggest The Bedou annex Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan as they have legitamate claim.

We have evaluated the current situation with reguards to our allies the Bedou.
It is unfortunate that Daylam has placed the Bedou in this particular quagmire. However the findings of the Council stand as the definitive position of Erinin and the AOH alliance. Reguarding the land claims Sino makes on Daylami interests. The AOH recognizes Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan as legal Bedou land per right of settlement. Per cultural majority. We also are inclined to concede that the Sino should gain from this military victory. The annexation of Kazakstan is a more then suitable prize.
Should the Bedou be placed in a position to defend the smaller nations to which they have Legal claim. Military force is an authorized measure on the part of every AOH member state.
We would veiw favorably upon our suggested peaceful resolution to this conflict. Counting it as a favor owed to the Sino. Also as an alliance made in the far east.
This last prospect must be more appealing then a long protracted conflict over land which is of essentially no strategic or economic value.
The most economically productive thing in those lands is the largest naturally growing walnut forest. Hardly worth the lives of both our young soldiers, when the Bedou will end up being the most stable neighbors a Nation might have.

1) They are never again allowed to enter Xinjiang.

The Hudecian government has no objection to the safe and humane treatment of Daylami. Nor do we wish to infringe upon their rights to movement. However, we fear that Daylam may once again attempt to attack our lands and our allies in their attempts to expand their empire.

Our nation seeks only peace and security for ourselves and our allies. With that in mind, we humbly request permission to establish an embassy in Bedou to further good relations between our nations.

In the interests of greater co-operation, the Hudecian government also asks for permission to move troops through Bedou territory.

Aboard the Seglawi Air Carrier named the Lawrence.
"Habebe we near Kazakstan, what are your orders?"
A tall arab in the black flight suit of a Lawrence Marine stood behind Sultan Mohammed on the deck of the Lawrence Seglawi.
"I have reviewed the maps, we will disembark in Aktau. Contact the Granzi and tell them our ETA. Also try to do it in a manner that will not immediately get us shot at." The Sultan smiled at the young marine.
He did not smile back, rather he nodded abruptly and responded "Aye aye, most wise Sultan so you say so it shall be."
Bin Al Deeb thought about explaining the joke, butthen he let the young man leave. Clerics and Sultans do not make jokes in wartime, and marines do not laugh. He did not believe those things were in the rules of warfare but he would re-read them at the first availble moment. He chuckled to himself.

Mohammed Bin Al Deeb pressed the com button his phone and request an ensign come to him on hte deck, as he had forgotten some pressing things.

OOC: I am assuming you are coming to Aktau to begin negotiations?

IC: As soon as word of the Bedou Sultan was coming in person to begin negotoations, the word spread like wildfire. General Demark made preparations to leave Yining for the Caspian port city. Escorted by a flight of Seabolt fighters, his private aircraft landed safely at the airfield without any hitches. Once on the ground, the local commander, Major Greene, began a tour of the accomidations set aside for the meeting.

Set away from the center of town, the Agafath mansion complex, formerly an administrative center, had been completely refurbished. The upstairs had been transformed into a private suite, completely with a 40 bedrooms for the entourage. Clean sheets, a rare item in the desert sands, were arranged tastefully upon decorated carved mahogany furniture. Velvet coverings draped the bay windows, thrown open to bathe the rooms with light.

The downstairs had been built into a meeting hall. The entrance was through doucle heavy oak doors, set with redwood panels. A large and long heavy cherry table spanned the length of the conference hall, lined with matching chairs and small coffee tables. A warm light shown from the overhead crystal chandeliers. A full length plasma screen covered one wall, facing toward the end of the room. Small handheld sets were placed in front of each seat, and linked with the overhead projection system. Sercurity was tight, as the roads leading 1000 meters from the complex were roadblocked and staffed with elite marines.

General Demark stepped down the wide patio stairway, plugged in his personal headset, and waited for the Sultan to arrive.

"Captain."
"My Sultan" The Captain bowed.
"My friend." He stood up and extended his hand to the Sultan, who of course took it.

"What is it I may do, I dont suppose I could talk you into allowing me to turn this vessel back while there is still time."

"No Ahmed, you know I will not allow the Bedou to be cowards, by having there leader be afraid to speak face to face with other men."

The captain gave a slight nod, almost appearing if that answer had been without flaw.
"What are our orders then."

Sultan Mohammed smiled.
"Bring her aloft, 200 ft, and take us in at 250mph. Then float her above the shore so the men can moor us."
The Lawrence lifted from just off the surface of the water, where she had been flying to give the radar appearence of a ship. The day was clear and this was the way soldiers like to make entrances, grand and inspring.
Even old soldiers like it.

The Lawrence swept in almost silently.
The nationals had never seen a vessel like this one.
The Granzi, and the Hudecia no doubt have.
The Lawrence was a Tokarev airship with capacity for 28 aircraft and 100 marines.
The bedou soldiers who manned the Lawrence and the other Seglawi aircarriers(as the Bedou called them) were known as Lawrence Marines, informally they were called "Larrys". The most ferocious dsiplined men of Bedou. They are fancied by many to be true Mujahadeen, real Holy Fighters.
They obey with the strictest of discipline the ancient muslim rules of war.
As well as an honor code which obligates them to kill another 'Larry' should he be in breach of the code. Like the blood of the Sultan they trace the fierce tradition back to the Koreish tribe.
The 'Larrys' dropped lines from the sides of the carrier and deployed themselves with amazing quickness the drop had been nearly a hundred feet, yet no man stumbled or hesitated. They were dressed in uniforms which resemble the robes of the Bedou save they fit snug around the boot, and their faces were covered as if riding in the desert, the robes of the 'Larrys' this day were all black, dressed in an honor guard fashion. Usually they were soft browns and whites that blended with sands, or deep browns and hunter green to blend with other terrain.
The men used the lines they had deployed on to moor the vessel to the pier.
They formed a fire line and then the Sultan was lowered in a basket.
It appeared that Hudecian and Granzis were already their to great him.

Though Greene had never seen such a vessel, much less be directly under it, he kept his composure even after the a squad of Bedou leaped from the giant aircraft. As the sSltan was lowered down in a basket, Major stepped forward and signaled with his right hand. The full military band immediately blew out the Bedou national anthem, and while it played, the troops formed into orderly ranks and shouldered rifles.

Major Greene came face to face with the Sultan Mohammed, an imposing sight indeed. He bowed, then straighted and began to speak. "Your majesty, we are most honored to have your holiness at Aktau. I trust that your journey to Kazakhstan was most comfortable?" He paused, then said, "We hope your stay here will be as convenient as possible, and have arranged for your accommodations at the outskirts of town. Sultan Mohammed Bin Al Deeb had been up till this last week leading the Bedou from the position of Sheikh. Finally on his 61st Birthday he allowed the ceremony to be preformed to raise himself up to Sultan.
Previous to that he never attended in person any formal event as the Bedou leader, it would have been improper. Major Greene was the first representative to ever meet Mohammed Bin Al Deeb as Sultan.
The old Arab to an untrianed eye would have seemed fragile.
However the eyes of Major Greene quickly perceived the scar across the Sultan's neck which stopped just short of the lethal stroke. The scar on his right cheek that was a very old bullet wound. The scar he noticed on the Sultan's hand as he shook it, that looked like the scar a man gets from brabbing the business end of knife. This short frail man had obviously survived his share of squabbles. His eyes were bright and alert, his muscles were tight and fair fair for a man nearly half his age.
He carried a scimitar at his side, and an old russian revolver.
He appeared with an almost erie duality of grandfather and cut throat all at once. According to reports the Bedou who followed him number over a billion, and 5 other nations currently allowed him control of their military.
"Major Greene, believe me when I say that I am certain the arrangements that your nation have made will embarass me with their opulance. After all Major, my capital building is a tent." He chuckled and walked towards the Limo, the "Larrys" observed, only one came with the Sultan, and his personal Guard. A world leader who with two guards, in a land he has never been in.
