Artitsa
27-04-2004, 03:02
The government of Artitsa has decieded to help Allanea, its ally.

Being only 3000km from Allanea, 42 AC-240's will take off and head to TROUSRs airspace with a nice escort of 120 MiG-39's and 210 Su-37-900's. 4 A-50 AWACs will accompany them, and 22 KC-240's will provide midair refueling for the air group.

2 A-50's will track enemy Surface Fleets alotting targets to each AC-240, while the other 2 A-50's keep quite the eye out for enemy air incoming. Once within 800 miles of the enemy fleet, each AC-240 will drop 18 AM-96k Anti-Shipping missiles (ALCM's) from 3 rotary launchers.

The AM-96k's will be guided by A-50's AWACs to their naval targets, searching for the biggest Radar emissions targets available. Once their payload is expended they will return to Artitsa, where a task force is being assembled to meet up with the Artitsan vessels already in Allanean dock:

42 TAMD Mk II's (the most I've ever used in one conflict)
23 Super Medjved Missile Battleships
18 Asia class Cruisers
31 Frigates
142 Missile Boats
8 Yakinterinburg Carriers
14 Oscar IV SSN's
16 AMS-84 SSN's
6 Tagonroc SSGN's
4 Borei SSBN's

This force will link up with the 12 Super Medjveds and 18 TAMD Mk II's already in Allanean waters. The Subs will set up a nice perimeter to prevent Sub's from approaching the fleet. There will be constant air patrols by AWACs and JF-20 interceptors. Over 120 JF-20's will be kept on Alert 5 to respond immediatly to threats, while several dozen ASW Helicopters will be dipping their sonars to find enemy subs. If Approached by a hostile fleet, AM-96k's will be launched from over 550km away (smaller range then the ALCM's due to their requirement of having a booster stage.)

Several Dozen resupply ships will remain in the middle of the fleet to replenish missle supplies.

ooc: Allow me to explain the AM-96k.

In this circumstance I'll go through its phases:

Launch:
The missile is launched from the parent aircraft and proceeds 3km ahead of it. It then gets enough fuel into its Scramjet to boost upto 85,000 feet. From there it continues merrily along at mach 3.5.

Attack Phase:
As the missile approaches its target, it moves into a 90* angle of attack, straight down. This is where its finstabilizers and thrust vectoring come in handy as it plummets down (guided mind you) at around Mach 10.

Evasion:
Lets say the defending ship gets lucky and fires off some missiles from a RAM. The AM-96k emits decoys and begins evasion maneuvers with its thrust vectoring allowing it to narrowly (on purpose) slip by the missiles.

Impact:
As the enemy's ships CIWS ring off the front nose of the AM-96k (again being generous that you could hit a mach 10 target) which is armoured upto and including 25mm rounds. It impacts into the ship and its 500kg shaped anti-shipping charge explodes, tearing a massive hole straight down the ship.

Other Scenario:
The missile is hit and the reckage traveling at mach 10 slam into the ship below passing right through creating many points of water entry, or creating a large amount of damage upon the deck. ;)

IC:

"What?" The mud and blood splattered Bywater spat at the words like venom.

"Goobergunchia pulled out the war, we've been asked to leave." Said the young private, clutching the note in his hand before passing the note to the officer, who scanned it with his own just to make sure. He said nothing, but his eyes, wide and bloodshot, staring at the note with pure malevolence, said enough to make what he felt entirely understood.

"Go get the other commanders on the radio, tell them we're heading west..."

OOC: Bit short, sorry. My main battlefleet, after leaving the SW coast will sail south, pick up reinforcements and head north through the Haven Straits to Atlantic Island.

New York and Jersey
28-04-2004, 04:35
The sea was rather rough that day; the weather was inclement and had grounded most of the helicopter work for that day and had grounded aircraft the day before as well. Still the fleet sailed on though. They would not be stopped by waves. Not if they could help it at least. It was a large deployment, not seen on the seas in ages in terms of recent New York and New Jersey history. Three whole Marine Expeditionary Units, totaling 60,000 troops, had been deployed from Atlantic City Naval Center in order to capture Atlantic Island. However those plans had changed once diplomats at the highest of levels had spoken with each other and Atlantic Island was viewed as an off limits target. Time and circumstance are two things that always change, Atlantic Island was declared an off limits target, that was just fine by war planners back in NYNJ. Another target was quickly chosen as a back up. The idea was submitted to the Joint Chiefs of Staff who gave the idea the nod, and it was put on standby. The deciding factor was soon to come though. The Office of Strategic Services had received over the wire a report, which had generated a life of its own once it was read.

“Your highness, we’ve gotten this report from out allies in Knootoss…” The messenger said with some reserve. He knew what was coming next and wasn’t at all surprised when Gregory stood up and slammed his fist upon his work desk. “They don’t have the cojones to do such an act….”Gregory said as he continued to read the piece of intelligence. It was text of a phone call between the Knootian Prime Minister and the head of the Allanean government. His intelligence advisor Joseph Stetson the Fourth, who’s ancestor Joseph Stetson was once UN Ambassador from NYNJ spoke up, “We believe the Allaeaians were completely serious in this case sir. They’re just waiting for their war to end with UnAPS, with each passing day however, it appears as if UnAPS will sue for peace. Without support, Allanea maybe able to hold its own, especially with UnAPS countries growing weary of fighting and withdrawing by the day it seems.” Gregory did not at all like the sound of that, looking over toward the Joint Chiefs of staff he sat back in his chair, “Now what do you folks suggest we do about these people in Allanea? I hope not one of you plans on telling me we’re gonna sit on our thumbs and wait.”

A few chuckles were given as the Joint Chiefs of Staff outline their plans for the assault against Allanea… It didn’t take long, the JoC had already contacted several counterparts in UnAPS nations on areas to attack. The JoC had already picked and signed off on a plan and upon showing it to Gregory he nodded his head in complete approval of it. “Well then gentlemen. Looks like we’re going to war.” The JoC nodded their heads collectively and moved from out of the office, they had several approvals to give out before the day was over.

“Hoorah!” Came the shout of dozens of Marines who received orders below decks on the transport ships. The real gung-ho soldiers were ready for combat. They prayed for it even. However most other soldiers on the massive transport fleet feared the prospect of fighting an unknown enemy. Most of the Marines were veterans of several wars NYNJ had engaged in at one point in their lives. They were the professional army, no draftees in the Marine Corps, all of them volunteered for active military service and now the time had come for their use. Rifle drills were held on the decks of the Wasp class Carriers, and on the Tank Landing ships, the crew and soldiers began to make sure the Abrams MBTs, were ready for unloading.

They would wait for the Scandavian warships before proceeding further toward their landing objectives. The ball was rolling and the balloon was going up.

Back in New York and New Jersey preparations were being made. Thousands of bombers across dozens of airstrips were being fueled and given bomb loads. Mostly GBU-15 GPS Guided Bombs, and various Cluster Munitions, they were stockpiled in storage areas across the country for sometime. Some were duds, however many were not. This was the fifth major usage of the Strategic Air Command in its short history, all the other times were drills. This was the real thing. Out of 4,392 strategic bombers of various types , four shifts were created. Every six hours another bomber flight would go up, heading out for different targets across Allanea. Each flight of bombers would number 1,098 of various makes and types, from B-2 Stealth bombers to the giant lumbering B-36M Peacemakers. It was round the clock bombing at its best, and the targets for the S.A.C. were simple. Rail junctions, bridges, storage complexes and of course cities. The S.A.C was prepared to wage total war against Allanea no matter what the cost. To end the war was the key. It was no longer about simply toppling of a government.

The huge Scandavian fleet showed up over the horizon to the aft of the NYNJ fleet, already into a wide turn that was the fault of the multi-million ton Leviathan superdreadnaughts. It took a couple of hours to bring the ships into a lead formation with NYNJ fleet. The superdreadnaughts and dreadnaughts took the lead, their massive size easily dwarfing even the NYNJ Wasps. The nuclear-powered attack cruisers and guided missile destroyes watched the flanks for any enemy fleet that might try ot sneak up on the armada and below the waves Upholder class SSNs watched for any submarine activity.

It was a few hours of steaming to within range of the massive 22" ETC guns and Fasthawk cruise missiles, but once they were within range all hell broke loose. Over five hundred guns opened up at well over five hundred kilometers, the massive SCRAMJet shells target beach installations, air bases, ground bases, and anything else that could possibly be used to hinder the landing the NYNJ marines. A wave of over twenty-four hundred cruise missile supplemented the gun bombardment by targeting any military and government installation that was out of the reach of the guns.

[The exact number of guns firing at a rate of one round every three minutes is 544 and the wave of cruise missiles was 2688 exactly.]

Atlantic Island Air Command

"Black Alert! This is not a drill, I repeat, this is not a drill! "

"Good thing Doujin took off..." signed the Admiral yet again as he so the 1,500 Anne Coulter Mark II's take off the Island's runways.

"Go, go, go!" Hundreds of pilots rushed into their Coulter aircraft, flying out towards the hated enemies.

George Hathcock is one of them. Two months ago, his family's farm has been destroyed in the NYNJ 'anti-drug' operation. So when the enemy bomber appears in his aircraft's sight, he knows exactly what to do...

Goobergunchian Border Air Command

"Black Alert! Hundreds of strategic jets coming in, I repeat!"

Engines scream out as more and more Coulters take off the runways.

Buk1M missile launchers are working non-stop, filling the sky with missiles. Withing several minutes, 1,500 AA missiles are launched.

Allanean Capital

"Black Alert! Get those long-range AA's going!"

S-500 missiles streak out to the horizon. The screaming of commands is barely heard over the continuous roar of the MK II Skycleaner cannon.
Scandavian States
28-04-2004, 05:55
The Allanean aircraft had to actually enter Scandavian airspace to even get to the NYNJ bombers, which doomed them to failure and death. Their first obstacle, or rather a combination thereof, was the two fleets sitting tight on the norther coast and three city's AA defense. When the northern Cobra Alexandria radar and its smaller cousins detected the fighters a warning went out to the local air defenses. When they got within range, which was about 250 miles for the Skyhawk SAMs, they were met with 16,000 Mach 4 SAMs guided by radars that were so powerful that they could bounce a signal off the moon and get a good return.

Any surviving aircraft were met by 1,080 F-125S Super Rapier interceptors, who each launched eight AAM versions of the Skyhawk at a range of 150 miles. Any survivors of that encounter would have to face the AA defenses of Dublin and New Edinburgh, who each added another 800 missiles to the mix. All in all, the Allanean commanders walked their pilots and aircraft, perhaps the only ones left, into a shit storm the likes of which was rarely seen.

These bombs should be used only under the most needy of circumstances. We are also sending a small force of 50,000 regular army troops to assist in the defense of Allanea's borders during this conflict.

Bridge – FNS Leviathan, 1st Battle Group, Southern Haven Straits

Admiral Svensand looked out at the greying sky, watching the light slowly disappear and the stars start to twinkle into view. Ship lights danced on the moving surface of the water, and the wind that was howling an hour before had now dissipated, leaving an eerie calm over the whole proceedings.

The much clichéd phrase of “the calm before the storm” entertained itself in his mind before the clatter of the bulkhead door behind him bought him out of his contemplative gaze. As he turned a young lieutenant snapped to attention in front of him, before passing an envelope marked with ‘top secret’ into his hand. Opening the sealed paper, his eyes quickly scanned the page in front of him.

A lot of detail, some legal mumbo-jumbo, then and the phrase that hit him almost literally jumped from the paper.

“…so, in accordance with our attorneys and solicitors, if the Allanean authorities insist that their civilians are loyal to the death, armed, and in turn have shown themselves to be willing to engage the coalition forces as combatants, then all the civilians within Allanea of military age can be considered under international law to be combatants, and their places of supply and refuge can be seen to be legitimate military targets.’

‘Therefore, once you have arrived along the Northern Allanean shoreline and re-established naval supremacy in the area with the help of our allies, we expect you to engage ground targets not only to destroy Allanea’s supply and command lines, but also attack civilian infrastructure and administration facilities. We have to make life very, very uncomfortable for their civilian population.’

‘This strategy is designed to either remove the threat of civilian attacks on coalition forces, or, although this is more hope than substance, encourage them to rise up against their own government. Now that the weaker members of the UnAPS have been purged, we are now once again on the course for victory. We now need decisiveness and determination. Good luck Admiral.”

It was signed by the Prime Minister himself. Svensand looked at the note, twisting it in his hands. What he was being asked to do was reduce the UnAPs moral high ground in the war in the hopes of achieving victory. In military terms it made sense, but it raised some very moral questions.

But Svensand was a soldier, loyal and proud, and he knew if he didn’t carry out his orders then a lot more people were going to die. If these citizens show no signs of intelligence or reason, then they had no right to complain about what would be unleashed on them.

An hour later, the Freethinker naval reinforcements had arrived, and the entire combined fleet began turning slowly northward, spreading out in a vaguely circular pattern designed to reduce the effectiveness of possible enemy military strikes. All 700,000 tons of the Leviathan swung around, bringing the scarlet sunset into view from the bridge. Svensand was in a contemplative mode again, his eyes moving from one ship to the next.

The taskforce was deceptively small. Although few in number, the Freethinker’s actually manufactured their own designs, allowing them to customise each class for combat in this world’s naval warfare. Each ship vastly outpowered a similar conventional design for the same role, and this allowed the Freethinkers as a nation, with still a relatively small population, to field quite lethal naval forces. A little effort on the part of their naval designers and tactical thinkers oftern paid off quite spectacularly.

The fleet started to sail at full power, mustering slowly up to a speed of about 25kts, spreading over about 100 km squared of surface space, providing room for anti-missile systems to be fully effective. They were still in safe waters though, passing watching Merchant ships plying across the straits between the various coastal states. The shore on their port bow occasionally became visible, but was never more than a black on the horizon before they reached the waters of the Scandanavian States on the morning of the next day.

Under standing international agreements, some DU nations, like TROUSRS, allow the transpot of NCA (for example, Iron Blood) troops through thier land for the defence of Allanea.

The Fantasan troops will go that route. If and when military action is taken to stop aid of any form from reaching Allanea, we will consider such action an act of war and respond accordingly.

Fantasan is greatly saddened to hear of the loss of life in this terrible conflict. However, we do see Allanea justified in reclaiming their rightful territory from corrupt regimes. Although Fantasan is far too involved with internal affairs to personally engage in military action, we are sending 25 MOABs to the Allanean forces, to be used at their discretion against enemy targets. These bombs should be used only under the most needy of circumstances. We are also sending a small force of 50,000 regular army troops to assist in the defense of Allanea's borders during this conflict.

[ooc: Given that it is Democratic Underground regional policy, consistent with Article II of the Regional Charter, that you/your government are persona non grata in the region (except in Allanea), how are you going to get these troops in? A land route is out of the question, so you'll have to get them past whatever naval blockades exist around Allanea or fly them in over said waters.]

First Sea Lord Tzu was going over the newest strategy for victory in the sea war for Emperor Alexander, "...so we swing the First Assault Fleet into the Northern Allanean Sea and put the waters there in a strangle hold. Meanwhile, our Atlantic Island taskforce will continue its support of the New York and Jersey marine assault there. We'll need to attach the 1DEFFLT logistics ships to the AITF so they can keep up the bombardment, 1DEFFLT is close enough to the coastline to be able to rearm from shore facilities. As an aside, I'd like you to sign off on the new Freethinker policy for our own naval forces."

Next was General Aidan MacLeod, "Our strategy is simple, we bomb the hell out of every single damn thing that moves and isn't flying a UnAPS flag in Allanea. I also want permission to conduct kenetic strikes against Allanea ICBM silos and perhaps against fault lines if you'll sign off on a similar policy for my forces."

Emperor Alexander I Larsen nodded to both of them and turned to General Gustav Vaasa, "How are the formation of the new armies progressing?"

"Very well, sir. The refresher courses for the Celtic and Royal Guards Armies, they're our new shock armies, are progressing smoothly. Their equipment is ready to be issued, its just making sure that they're familiarized with it that's taking time. Unfortunately, they won't be as well trained as the other twenty divisions, but I'm afraid that we won't ever get that edge back as an armed ground force. However, we hope to make up for that in sheer shock factor, numbers, and quality of equipment." Vaasa answered.

The emperor smiled, just slightly, at that news, "Good, get them deployed ASAP and when you do pull those poor, incoherrent reservists off the line and excuse them from further service, they did their job."

The first strike against Allanea by the S.A.C. had very mixed results, and resulted in the cancellation of further Strategic Attacks for the time being. Bomber casualties for the first six hour clock had totaled near 34%. One in three bombers didn’t make it back home. Ambushed on their return by Allanean fighters from their extreme western borders. Strategy had to be revised, so that further attacks against Allanea were supported by fighter escort. It had caused several Generals in the S.A.C. to lose their commands and be transferred out to areas, which no one wanted to be in. Heads rolled but it was a lesson learned for the next time. The S.A.C. would be prepared in the future.

The sun was just starting to rise on the horizon. The massive ball of red filling the distance signaled the beginning. From the Wasp class Assault Ships attached to the 1st, 2nd and 4th MEUs hundreds of transports, Amphibious APCs and dozens of LCACs launched. It was the first wave of the invasion. A sea to shore assault against the Northern Beaches of Atlantic Island, which had been bombarded by ships from the allied S.S. navy.

“Time to get your feet wet!” called the marine sergeant in one of the small Higgens style boats which raced from the Wasp toward the shore. The first wave of the assault involved 10,000 troops of the 1st MEU and another 10,000 troops from the 4th MEU. The 2nd MEU was being kept in reserve for the first few days, however they were going to open up another beach head on the 9th day of fighting if the 1st and 4th encountered heavy resistance on the beach. Along with the 20,000 troops were 150 M1A1 Heavy Armor tanks, out fitted with steel plows to kick up and eliminate any mines in the sand. There were five beaches all together being assaulted. 4,000 troops and 30 tanks to a beach, as well as various Amphibious APCs which made it ashore.

In the skies over the 5 beaches 24 AH-1W Super Cobras patrolled armed with rockets and their chainguns they were to provide CAS for the assaulting soldiers.

The AITF, or Atlantic Island Task Force, kept at around fifty miles so as to stay well out of the range of shore batteries and well within range of even their shore bombardment guns. Once they were within range, the Concord class Attack Cruisers began hitting the beaches ahead of the marines with their eight-inch ETCs. The occasional VLS cell of four-packed POLAR missiles would be fired off, each covering one hundred feet of targeted real estate with over four hundred bomblets. The dreadnaughts and superdreadnaughts were fairly silent, the fury of their guns only spoken occasionally and only then against hardened targets that the marines would have to spill untold amounts of blood to take. Weight of fire from the guns was methodical and precise; the ships did not yet have the support vessels necessary to saturate the Allaneans with fire. That would change of course, but not for several hours.

[Fire is basically that which is called in by the NYNJ marines, but if something is there that infantry couldn't deal with on its own, consider it engaged by either POLAR or guns. There are 192 Concords in the area, each with eight inch ETCs firing Scramjet rounds, so they pack the punch of the old Texas class 14" guns.]

With Reports flooding in of this seaborn attack, Artitsan aircommand in southern Allanea moved quickly. They scrambled 24 of the AC-240's that had already made a strike, but 12 were rearmed with AS-19 KENT missiles.

3 A-50 AWACs took off along with 42 Su-39-900's, while information was being sent to the Artitsan fleet in order to scramble several dozen JF-20's. The Su-39-900's would meet up with the AC-240's, also accompanied by the A-50's.

1 A-50 and 12 AC-240's would attack the Scandavian States with 18 AM-96k Anti-Shipping missiles each (description is on page 26), while 26 Su-39-900's kept escort for them.

1 A-50 and 12 AC-240's would attack the landing forces with 18 AS-19 KENT's each. Each Kent carries two 500kg warheads able to hit targets 100km apart. The range of the AS-19 is 3000 to 4000km. They would be escorted by 8 Su-37-900's.

The Remaining A-50 and Su-37-900's will await the JF-20's from the carriers while KC-240's refuel as necessary. They will meet up and launch further strikes upon the landing forces (while will be done later)

The Allanean marines retreat slowly, trying to bleed out the enemy, drawing the aggressors into Liberty-Ville. When the first NYNJ soldier enters the city, he meets with a nasty surprise: a rifle shot from a 10th-story window.

Not the whole city is fighting of course - the estimates are only of about 50,000 participants out of the 20-million population of the city, but, for the Scandavian troops, it might seem like the whole city has arised against them.

No NYNJ trooper can afford relaxing for even a second, in the city or in other parts of the island - where over 30,000 partisans are fighting.

Propagada posters appear everywhere, encouraging Allaneans to fight on.

[Ok no problemo!

The AM-96k is usually guided by a nearby AWACs aircraft, but also has its own Guidance system. The missile itself uses Scramjet technology, but begins with a solid booster in the initial phase inorder to gain the speeds necessary for Scramjet to be used. Once that speed is asertained, It moves upto an altitude of 80 to 85 thousand feet, crusing alone happily at Mach 3.5.

The missile includes Many decoys and chaffs and other such systems as the most modern Russian ICBM. But what really saves it, is its speed. As approaches its target (it has a range of 800km or 500 Miles) it moves into a 90* angle of attack, in which its thrust vectoring and finstabilizers keep it on a steady course towards the target below. At this point the missile is traveling at Mach 10, due to the high amount of oxygen passing through the Scramjets as well as the force of gravity. The head of the missile is armoured to 30mm CIWS, and is capable of minimul movement as it heads straight down. Even if the missile is hit and destroyed, the considerably heavy wreckage will proceed down at mach 10 onto the deck.
If the missile continues on course it will be directed to hit the magazines of the ship, using a shaped 500kg anti-shipping charge to break through the Deck armour, and other such obsticals to finally detonate in either the magazine or the real Bridge. (Most Bridges are below the waterline during combat) Any other questions, feel free to ask.]

The bombers and fighters were on radarscope well before the cruise missiles were launched, but they couldn't be engaged because of the limited range of the SAMs on the ships in the task force. The missiles, despite their speed, were engaged by the Skyhawk SAMs at two hundred and fifty miles. Second and third waves were launched every fifty miles any remaining cruise missiles traveled.

As a precaution against further attacks, a division of four destroyers was sent out to near the launch point in order to surprise the launch aircraft and hopefully take down whatever was controlling the missiles. To increase the chances of success for this, the destroyers went to EMCON and only occasionally received burst transmissions from the task force. The Centaur class' stealthy trimaran hull and disruptive camo would further help in hiding the destroyers from detection.

[SS, I'm going to need to borrow your territory to get to the frontlines. Post an IC response allowing me to move forward, please. :) ]

Admiral Gordanski finally received the green light from Hvittsted that he had been waiting nearly a month for. The fleets were ready to move out, and turned their direction eastward, full speed. They had been sitting off the coast of Goobergunchia, about 100 or so miles out, but since Goobergunchia had declared full neutrality, Lietuv troops would have to find somewhere else to be able to get to the frontlines. That somewhere else would be Scandavian States. They sped across the large body of water until reaching about 20 miles from the Scandavian coast. The Bravo Deployment had finally reached its destination. Alpha Deployment was already sitting a few dozen miles away, redirected from the coast of Edolia. Now a rather large Army of 150,000 troops and thousands of mechanized forces were prepared to enter Scandavian States, move through Axackal, and get to the frontlines.

General Alexi Ivanov was sitting in a lower deck of the LSS Van Arsden, drawing plans for the movement of his troops. He had been appointed Commander of Lietuv Forces in the Allanean Theater, and was fully prepared to take on the job. Ivanov had served under the USSR, and was now a 30-year veteran and four-star general. At the age of 61, he was still in great health, and his alertness was high at all times. His first mission was to land all troops on the shores of Scandavian States, and send waves into Allanea, seperated by a few days. Tanks and other armored units would lead the advance, while troops advanced behind.

General Ivanov was ready, as was Admiral Gordanski, who would take his place in aiding the blockade of Allanea. The UnAPS was about to receive more relief, which would hopefully help greatly in the end.

Sergeant Timmothy Phare sat on the ground, leaning against a crate of supplies. He was writing a letter to his wife. The 12th Light Infantry had not recieved any mail from back home during this whole deployment. The hastened movement to -The Prophet- and then the subsequent withdraw, had made the delivery of mail impossible. But now that they were in Scandavian States, they hoped the mail from home would finally catch up to them. They were making the best of their time off of the front lines. The men were finally able to catch up on some sleep, and able to get some warm food. They knew, however, that this would not last much longer. New Tiboritian forces were arriving constantly, and the rumor mill was continually offering guesses as to when they would be re-deployed.

"Tim," Lieutenant Brower said as he sat down next to Sgt. Phare. He paused to light a cigarette. "I finally was able to track down a set of stripes for you. Now maybe the Corporals will stop ordering you around."

Sgt. Phare gave a chuckle to the Lieutenants joke. He had started this war as a Privite, and quickly recieved a battlefield promotion.

"Thank you, sir. Any word from command, Lieutenant?"

"Not yet, but it looks like when we move, the 12th won't be in the front of all this crap."

They then just sat there, enjoying the reletive silence.

General Ivanov immediately ordered that all land forces be deployed onto the Scandavian coast within two weeks. The troops had been waiting for this moment for months, and they were finally embarking on the mission they had been sent for.

Admiral Gordanski ordered the fleets inward, and the unloading began. He placed all defensive ships in strategic locations, with the most vulnerable in the center of a large box formation. Amphibious vehicles were escorted by destroyers and submarines to the shore, where they quickly unloaded. Large camps were set up, and Camp Bostova had been established. This would be the command for Lietuv forces in the area.

Allanea

Gunshots shocked Frederic Cremer into falling clean out of his bunk. He rolled around on the floor in a heap of blankets, trying to catch his breath. He untangled himself from his bed-coverings and stood up. As quickly went outside the room, his attention was suddenly fixed on the rear stair, where his wife hung limply over a railing, blood running down her arm and over her face in a thick cascade.

Frederic shook his head. "No, no." Then he knelt down and screamed.

-----

Frederic didn't like dealing with them, and he especially didn't like dealing with them here. The building was dark, cavernous, and most of all, empty. His every footstep seemed to echo forever. Though the air was breathable, it was cold and stale. This was a place where people were reluctantly tolerated, not welcomed.

He found his contact on the lower levels. He knew the man only as "Scratch," probably a nickname derived from the long, thin scar that ran from the edge of his left eyebrow, around the eye socket, and down his left cheek. Scratch nodded in greeting.

"Got the stuff?" He asked.

Frederic nodded. "It's in the cargo hold downstairs, five hundred pounds of assorted rations." He handed Scratch a hard copy of the inventory.

Scratch scanned the list. "I'm gonna want to check this."

Frederic rolled his eyes. "Can't you just trust me on this one? I want to get out of here. This place gives me the creepers." He shivered. "Why we gotta meet here, anyway?"

Scratch frowned. It was a very dangerous-looking expression on his face. “No time for chat, listen, you give me what I want, I give you the information. Got it? Now, where was I? Yeah, the police whacked your wife because they had a tip-off from the government that she was working against them. It’s been happening to every known civil rights activist in the city. They’re getting worried about people liable to be protesting against the war.”

Suddenly, windows crashed and multiple gunshots were heard from below. Scratch jumped at the noise, and his tough act vanished; he looked ready to bolt. "What's that?"

Frederic looked down through the window. "Police," he said. "They’re after me too."

"What about the rations?”

Frederic just stared at the man. "No time," he said. “We’ll have to jump from that window to the other roof.”

Blech, it would be nice if you could inform the people who have troops there of these actions, I've been posting on the TIS declares war on Phyrric thread for a while.

And nice posters, Tiborita.

OOC: to clear all this up the actions referred to are happening at this thread: ( the Feline Invades Allanea thread)

http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=138154&start=200

That's where I saw everyone posting their SW Allanean activities.

(OOC: Aw, crap. This is why it's never a good idea to have so many threads. I looked at that thread when it was first posted, saw that Feline was invading through Axackal or somesuch, noted that I didn't have any troops in the area, and moved on. Yallak, it would seem we've both made honest mistakes here.)
