While we voted against war in the UnAPS forums, we are bound by the charter to participate. We are sending the forces we had in the Scandanavian States city of Dublin across the border into Axacacal (sp?). ]

Also, being deployed to Allanea itself is:

OOC: Yes, we are. Our military philosophy is typically one of striking fast and the enemy's infrastruture and trying to bring the war to a quick end.

IC:

General Fluffy Vanda moved her paw across the command touchscreen. "Alright, our mission is to try to take and disable the Allanean military infrastructure. We'll move half of the troopers towards this base here, near the Axacalacal (sp?) border, and take it. The other half will move towards [insert city name here], the center of Allanean arms manufacturing. The commandos and elite commandos will be held back until they are needed."

60,000 troops began heading towards the Allanean base near Axacalacal from their staging point in the area mentioned, accompanied by one hundred MBTs, 60 light tanks, and 300 raiding vehicles floating gracefully yet menacingly across Allanea. (Think the Scorpion the UK uses in terms of role in the army.). Air support was standing by to be called in.

Also setting out in another direction, 60000 troops accompanied by 200 MBTs, 100 light tanks, and 100 raiding vehicles, again with air support standing by, set out for the largest arms manufacturing city in Allanea.

Your invasion of Allanea is unacceptable and is in violation of all previously agreed upon plans and doctrines. It is a violation of agreed upon UnAPS policy and a clear violation of the charter. There was no consulting with allies at all. These plans will be called off right now.

Should you fail to comply, Ambassador Visser, the Director of Membership will call for immediate termination of Feline membership of the UnAPS alliance. Realise that this unilateral invasion will be condemned internationally, also by our government. Alternatively, should expulsion not bear sufficient weight, the Dutch Democratic Republic will leave UnAPS. This probably along with several other nations.

We expect and demand a quick reply.

"Sir, satellites detect a large Allanean formation towards the area between our forces. It is composed of 30,000 infantry fighting vehicles, and 200,000 troops." said an aide to General Vanda. General Vanda kept her typical composure, and said, "Have the field sensor arrays ping them." "Yes, sir."

"Most of them are undercrewed, undermaintained, or underequipped. The forces are signifigantly sub-par." "As typical intelligence on Allanean troops, as well as common sense, indicates. But they still outnumber us. Divert the forces going to attack the base towards the city, and accelerate their rate of movement. We need to take the city before we meet up with the Allanean troops." "Yes, sir." The general thought for a moment, and then she said, "Also, deploy our four railgun units. Fire upon the Allanean formations. Then ready all of the MLRS units (OOC: 100, with 20 missiles each) and bring them to bear on the Allanean forces. Let's give them a little whats-for."

At the same time, the 4th and 7th fleets began to sail out to sea. A small "blip" sound went off in the command room, and Vanda looked down. "Excellent- the fleets are ready." She placed her paw on the touchscreen, and selected their destination: The 4th fleet would position itself inbetween Axackal (sp?, I think I might actually have it right this time) and Allanea. The 7th fleet would sail around Haven, and take up the rear. It would then deploy further troops of an undisclosed amount to take the south.

NAVAL DEPLOYMENTS:

The most cosmopolitan and liberal area is the capital. In fact, liberals are the ruling party in Allanea, controlling the Congress, Senate, and Presidency (yes, Kazansky is a left-liberal).

Anti-Gun? You understand, gun control is about as popular in Allanea, as, say, Nazism, so I don't know how to answer that.

Where is that fleet deployed.

IC: 200 BMP's and 578 troops are lost to Feline missiles, the remainder of the HUGE force makes an incredible fast charge towards the Felinians. They lost 500 troops as they move, but they move FAST .

As soon as they are in the 800-yard range, troops stop and begin aiming and firing their rifles, while the BMP's stay behind and shower the Felinians with ATGM's.

OOC: Got it. Thank you. One last question: Where is your capital?

Our 4th Fleet is deployed between Axcacal (sp?) and Allanea. The 7th fleet is making it around to the south.

And yes, undertrained. There is a h*ll of a lot more to infantry combat than being able to shoot a gun. They may be accurate with their shots, but what about tactics? What about unit cohesion?

And your vehicle crews? Crewing a vehicle has nothing to do with shooting a gun.

IC:

The troops were already at the edge of the city when the Allaneans arrived. "Sir, radar detects Allanean troop formations closing fast. They're huge." says the Intel Officer of the troops moving there, Major Buddy Denalva. Colonel David Stroksnot, the on site commander of the forces, quickly issued orders into is G-FIST (Ground Feline Intelligence Software Technology) command and control terminal.

The infantry and the raiders continued headlong into the city, not stopping as they made a rush to City Hall.

The tanks turned around. Some were lost to the barrage, but then they let loose their weapons. All of the tanks began targeting the BMPs with their coaxial and turret mounted ionised beam weapons. (OOC: Full explanation will come at end of post.) They also opened fire with the main gun, firing plasma shells (OOC: No different in operation than a normal tank gun. It just fires shells with plasma explosives rather than normal explosives.) at the the Allanean troops. They were hardly concered about the infantry, advanced Feline armor design made it incredibly unlikely that the bullets could penetrate.

I was going to send our air support to go after the Allanean troops, but tell these guys to do the job. Just in case they manage to f*ck this up somehow, ready of planes." she said.

OOC: Ionised beam weapons have working prototypes in real life, so don't say this is unrealistic.

They take two ultraviolet lasers (UV so it won't cut the person) and superheat a current of air to a low level plasma state, so it can conduct electricity a long distance in a specific direction. Electricity is pumped into this current, allowing our weapons to stun, kill, or disable the electronic systems on metal vehicles.

Now, I'm going to be gone for around four hours, so don't do anything major.

Allanea, problem is I cant get no troops through.

Kriegorgrad would like to aid feline in the invasion of Alenea [i]but[i\] wants a chunk of land when we're done, I'll humbly await your reply.

Getting them to work together, getting them to be disciplined, getting them to know how to take cover, move quickly, etc, etc... That's the important stuff. OOC: Not plasma cannons. Normal tank guns, but with plasma-based instead of normal explosives. Probaly no more than twenty years ahead of us.

For the effect in RP, it just means a bigger explosion.

Not nessecarily, Gurreillas exceed without much training at all and going for cover/moving quickly is a natural instinct but i agree with your points on discipline.

OOC: My stuff has almost no effect on roleplay if you look beyond the names. Ionised beam weapons (NOT ion guns, stop calling them that) have prototypes in real life. I just have them so I can fight while reducing casualties. I'm surprised the idea of maglev tanks have not occured to more people- larger Earth in nationstates=larger magnetic field=less powerful magnets needed to achieve maglev. They jsut allow tanks to move faster and not be affected by landmines that work on pressure. Plasma instead of normal explosives- we can make plasma now in RL, it is just not cost-effective. All that allows is for bigger explosions, something that could be gotten using normal explosives, but making the shell larger.

OOC: I am annexing, for the duration of the war, but no longer, his city with the most arms factories, whatever that one is. That way, it damages his ability to fight. As Sun-Tzu said in his Art of War,

Subjugating the enemy's army without fighting is the true pinnacle of excellence. Thus, the highest realization of warfare is to attack the enemy's plans.

I am attacking Allanea's logistical planning. While I may have to do some limited fighting in the process, this will make sure there is less fighting since his troops will not have the weapons they need. Most nations would just bomb the factories, but I am, IC and OOC, opposed to the bombing, no matter how precision, of civilian areas. No matter what, it always leads to collateral damage.

IC, just to keep things going:

"While those guys are air-striking the Allaneans, move the railgun artillary in line with their largest support base, and open fire. Ready the MLRS and attack their closest troop formation besides the ones fighting our troops near the city."

Allanea, what is your biggest arms manufacturing city within, say, eighty kilometers of the border? Change our attack to that city.

A small explantion of our infantry that might prove useful here.:
Reservists=Self Explanatory.
Troopers=G.I.s, trained as much as some nation's special forces
Commandos=Special forces.
Elite Commandos= The best.

Also, Allanea, what type of camoflauge should be used for your nation? Desert, woodland, what?

IC:

Waiting in a ditch near a highway was a group of Elite Commandos. Two of them hid the large Assault Ionised Beam Weapon, while the rest clutched tightly their ionised beam rifles.

The military convoy came up. The readied right before it came out, and then lept up. The Assault Ionised Beam weapon was quickly aimed at the engine block of the lead vehicle, hoping to disable the electronic components. "That should stop it" thought the crewmember aiming it. He moved on to the other vehicles, as the rest of the troops prepared to fire at the troops inside.

Allanea, what is your biggest arms manufacturing city within, say, eighty kilometers of the border? Change our attack to that city.

OOC: It's Heston-city, a town of population about 400,000 with three arms plants, one making sporting .22 rifles, the other making collectors editions of various historical machineguns such as the Thompson and a third one contracting of the Ministry of Education.

"As the Feline troops advance through Allanea, they are met with massive guerrilla resistance, literally people firing through nearly every house window.

Moreover, 100,000 troops where diverted from the Southern border to defend the city, but they will only be there within a day or two.

OOC: Okay, I edited a small guerilla attack into the last post. Just thinking an edit might help get your attention.

IC:

"We're taking heavy fire from these idiots!" yelled out a troop over the comlink, as he raised his weapon and quickly stunned a man raising a hunting rifle at him. A bullet tore through his armor, but it slowed it down enough for him to take cover. But out of a window in the alleyway he went in, another bullet tore through him. Poignant cries of "man down" echoed through the squad, as it did with many other squads.

The troops, running the gauntlet of fire, some safe inside APCs, quickly ran down, stunning people as they went.

Eventually, they made it to the arms factories. They seized control from the operators, locking them in secure places. Tanks, parked outside, stood ready to stun any people who approached. Soldiers took up place with the equivilent of general purpose machine guns in the upper windows.

"Alright, General Vanda, we have control of the arms factories." said Colonel Stroksnot over the comlink. "Excellent. I want you to divert whatever forces you think you need to capture the local television station. Use it to tell them that we don't want to usurp Allanean sovereignty, only preserve Edolian sovereignty in Axacakal (I think I have the hang of the spelling now, tell me if I don't). Tell them we will pull out and allow the arms factories to re-open as soon as the war is over, and tell them the workers will be released out into the community with some money to tide them over until the war ends after we question them."

"Yes, sir."

He placed a hundred troops inside APCs, and sent them with an escort of a recon vehicle through the town towards the TV station. He hoped they would not meet with resistance from actual military forces on the way there.

An Allanean runs out of a house. He's carrying an RPG-29 launcher, which he fires at the last Felinian APC (see, there's NO gun laws).

Within hours of the broadcast, about 30,000 citizens, commanded by the city mayor and reinforced by 5,000 Boy Scouts, are ready to storm one of the arms factories.

OOC: Alright, while a small, yet still easily defeated, arguement for small arms ownership can be made, why in God's name would a civilian need an anti-tank weapon?

IC:

The APC suffers severe damage, as he hit it right at the exact spot where two of the electromagnet plates meet. They were blown on, and the resulting instablity causes it to collapse over, crushing the troops inside and rendering the APC useless.

The colonel broadcasted again. "We are not here to take over Allanea! We are only here to help our ally Edolia retain the Axackali Special Economic Zone. As I said before, your city government will continue to function uninterrupted. Any weapons you own now, you will continue to own. There will be no change in your daily lives, except for the factory workers, who we will release after the time we set, with a large sum of money to help them until the war ends. The arms factories will re-open after the war ends. We have no quarrel with the Allanean people. We do not wish to take away your national sovereignty, and we do not wish to take away your firearms. We only wish to help Edolia retain its national sovereignty over Axackal. Please, stand down. We will not fire upon the protestors unless they fire upon us. If the city government does not take actions to stop attacks on our troops, we will take over law enforcement functions. But that is as far as we go. No farther into your sovereignty than shutting down the weapons factories and possibly law enforcement. But the laws enforced will be Allanean laws. You have no reason to worry."

OOC: Taking care of your capital... and also hopefully helping out my allies's forces on the Prophet front, striking at the bases that (if your generals have any logistic since) would be resupplying that conflict.

IC:
On the other side of Allanea, coming up the Haven continent, the other fleet approached. It used the railguns on the Submersible Warships (OOC: A special combination we use that combines the best of both worlds, discarding the worst parts, of submarines and battleships. Basically large submarines with a railgun cannon.) and the battleships (OOC: For us, basically floating barges with railguns on them.) opened fire on Allanean military bases throughout that half of the country. Then, they opened fire on Allanean shore positions.

45,000 Troopers, and 30,000 Commandos, and attached armor elements (Air elements will have to be called in later.) stormed the beaches of Allanea on a direct push to the capital.

Once the troops were ashore, missiles for more precision than the railguns were used to provide fire support. The railguns resumed the bombardment of Allanean military bases. Commanding on the scene these forces was Colonel Sophia Cartwright, one of the most capable commanders in the Feline military. (OOC: In case you have not noticed, we still have those ranks officially, but ranks inbetween Colonel and full General are usually skipped.)

Actually, I think there's some collectors who have them today. I remember reading about somebody buying a 155mm cannon.

IC:

At Heston-City

The mayor appears on the roof of one of the buildings next to the arms factory, with a megaphone.

"Listen, you gun-grabbing, neo-fascist scum!
Axackal was, is, and shall remain Allanean land. It is our brothers you're enslaving there, scumbags, and, by God, we WILL NOT stand for it! Fire!"

Immediatelly, the neigbourhood lights up with gunfire from all directions. Weapons from .22 rifles and up are fired at the Felinians. The Boy Scouts serve as the shock force, raining death at the entrance to the factory, then charging in.

The Mayor appears yet again

"Oh, by the way: the Army is coming soon. If we won't kick your sorry a$$, they will."

Near the Allanean Capital

OOC: Does everybody remember where Iron Blood removed his troops to? That's right.

IC:

2,000 civilians are killed in the Feline shore bombardment.

The moment the Feline storm-troopers get into range of the capital(while facing the same severa civilian resistance as elsewhere), they begin to get pounded by 200 TOS-1 FAE MLRS systems, 750 MSTA-S self propelled artillery systems, 4,500 various 152mm towed artillery guns, belonging to the Iron Blood shock army.

OOC: Not at your capital... exclusively at your military bases and bunkers on the beach. We don't fire artillary or missiles into civilian occupied areas.

And just a friendly reminder, the adjective is not "Felinian" it is "cat."

IC:

Appealing to this senseless, pointless jingoism, the commander said through speaker set outside "Axackal is rightly Edolia's now! The Axackalis have already begun to be assimilated into the Edolian culture. Do you really want people half-converted into communists, half-converted into anti-gun people coming back into your country's culture?"

An Assault Ionised Beam weapon was brought to the door. This massive device was aimed at the boyscouts (OOC: Boy scouts?) coming in. The device was swept from side to side, stunning the boyscouts as they came in. Troops ran out, picking up the stunned bodies and placing them into the makeshift prison they had set up inside. Troops in the upper windows opened fire with their weapons. The tanks outside aimed their ionised beam weapons at the people outside. Out back, some troops were loaded into an APC. It took a back way, away from the protestors, and made it around to the police station, which they stormed. Hopefully, now, with a proper jail, they would be able to restore order.

Approaching the Allanean capital, the troops came under heavy bombardment and began taking losses. "Pull back! Intel reported that the Bisonic pieces were not active, apparently, it was wrong!" yelled Cartwright into her comm. "Change of plans! We're taking the military base here, just out of the range of the artillary."

The ships out near the capital turned their guns towards The Prophet front and began bombarding Allanean forces there.

A mass of troops quickly board military carriers posisitioned at the shores of Yurka's main port city, Talus. Watching over the troops was general Vincent Tas, "Excellent... So emperor Yurka has commited 300,000 soldiers to the war?" He looked over to the messenger, former head general Karth Grimoire.

"Yes, along with 200 pieces of artillery... 2 destroyers, and 6 carriers, along with 4 frigates and a pod of submarines(2 large subs, 6 small). He seems to be very enthusiastic about stopping Allanea."

"Any air support Karth?"

"Yes, 60 fighters. We're relying on Feline's artillery, though I highly doubt we'll be needing it with how stretched out Allanea is..." Karth turned and walked out the door, leaving Vincent to lead the sizeable force with his second in command Timmothy Walker.

IC: The first of the carriers arrive, the troops quickly unloading the 200 artillery pieces, half of the riot police taking sniper posisitions on top of buildings around the LZ, the other 20,000 preparing to go out into the city. Timmothy Walker, along with his lieutenants turn a warehouse into their base of operations.

20 of the fighters are quickly dispatched to patrol the area around the city.

Vincent Tas, along with 260,000, 140 tanks, and 20 APCs begin the march to Heston-City to combat the troops there.

"WHAT? THE GIRL SCOUTS?" the General screams, starting at a crying 16-year-old girl. He calms down and grabs her by the shoulders.

"Listen, kiddo, I know your boyfriend is in there. I promise you - officer's word - that I will get him out. But you do me a favour - you take anybody who isn't in the Army OUT of here. Girl Scout's word?"

"Listen up, you rabid kittens! I, General Ksenofontov, Allanean Army, give you a full hour. After that - well, we have 100,000 troops and 10,000 APC's, and we're going to come and rip you silly tails out! Got it?"

The riot wagons roll down the street of the coast, guns jutting out of the sides. The "Riot Police" were making rounds, protecting Vincent's army as it made it's way to the outskirts of the city and towards Heston City. The 40 fighters and 4 bombers not patrolling the skies around the city were being fueled and checked and rechecked for the mission ahead.

"Timmothy, if any of those Allanean scum rednecks start to rebel, you have my permission to fire upon them before they can pull anything. Our posisition in the coastal city is imperative to the success of the mission. We may need to send for reinforcements or even make a hasty retreat if things get dicey..."

"Yes sir! I have snipers all over warehouses, nobody is getting through us! We will string up anyone who opposes us!" Timmothy Walker turned off the radio and looked over a map of Allanea, studying it carefully.

And how exactly would firing a rocket propelled grenade be fun, and where would it be safe, and Ia m not talking about the person firing, I am talking about innocent bystanders.

IC: "We still outnumber you. I overheard through some microphones we planted in the street your conversation. Tell the girl scout that her boyfriend is safe. It appears you are, in good faith, getting non-combatants out of here. Ergo, we are bringing all captured personnel out. Also, on a board of wood we found in here, we are carrying out the dead man, and we have placed a full apology and a large sum of reperation money in a bag in his pocket to his family. Our soldiers coming out will tell you the coordinates we are bringing the prisoners to. "

The APCs moved as fast as possible in the town, moving prisoners to a safe location on the other side of town. Before the hour deadline was up, the troops re-fortified their positions at the arms factories, the television station, and the police department. A recon vehicle stood where the prisoners were, ready to stun them if they rioted. Each one had a paper planted in their pocket telling them that by mutual agreement of the Allanean army and the Feline army, they were to stay out of the battle.

A few moments after her tranmission finished, a group of troops with the delegation from East Islandia walked in. "Hello. I am General Vanda. If you are wondering how I am speaking, you'll notice this translator collar around my neck. You'll also notice a slight lag in the speaking and the translation. If it bothers you, we can give you necklaces or collars, your choice, that would have it render real-time translation. Now, we welcome any support from your nation. We have artillary ready to take out any positions outside this city (OOC: Dublin, in Scandanavian States, is where our command center for this war is.), as well as a makeshift airfield. These offer combined armed assistance to troops on the move, but Section 8, paragraph 2 of the Feline Military Rules of Conduct for Combat in Built-up areas forbids us, except with explicit authorization from the Military Council, to fire these into civilian areas. Just so you know."

She walked over to a large, 3x5 Meter display screen. She tapped a few buttons on the belt of her uniform. It zoomed in on the city. "This is a composite computer animation, satellite feed, radar, everything else image of the city. Our troops have a green star over them. Allied troops, those from Yurka, have a purple star over them. Civilians have a blue star, hostile civilians have a yellow star. Allanean troops have a red star. As you can see, a temporary cease fire has been put in place to get civilians out of the way. It will expire in thirteen minutes, you can see a countdown in the lower right hand corner. All of our troops are back in position. So, what troops are you willing to commit, and what strategy suggestions do you have?"

"We are willing to commit urban warfare specialists," Trou said confidently. "They will be...useful, as we have much experience from fighting in tight alleys and against populations that hate us."

"No one seems to like us," Command Sgt. Ng said.

Trou glared at his subordinate before continuing. "And yes, we would like one of those translation collars. But that aside, we are wiling to also commit MY8 gunships, basically Chinese built Y8s wiht modified airframes and lots of weaponry for laying it down thickly and accurately where we need it. Likewise, we offer some armor specialists, infiltration specialists, and if need be, we can bring down a battalion of artillery on short notice."

"We would probably be able to commit about a light brigade (2000) of urban warfare troops," Master Sgt. Trei said. "As well as an additional brigade of armor, about two hundred tanks. The vehicles are staging from troop ships nearby, and will be here within three days, along with our commanding officer, General Sao."

"Likewise, we can call in 15 thousand pounders," their air control specialist, Spc Ru, said. "We can have 15thousand pounder missiles or bombs inbound for targets within five minutes, launched from offshore vessels and strike planes of an Independent Strike Regiment."

IC: "Excellent. We'll take any help we can in Heston. But let's focus the air support on taking out enemy bases. At first, we were going to take Heston and a base. Since that plan is pretty much thrown out the window, if we have your aircraft, our aircraft, and our artillary in a twenty-four hour bombardment of that base and other Allanean forces, we should be able to knock out their war effort heavily. Remember, that base is a core part of Allanea's war effort in Axacal (sp?)."

"I, general Tas of Yurka will keep the East Coast and your ships safe, while Commander Walker, along with the 260,000 troops take Heston City, light air and artillery support would help him tremendously. The emperor wishes your people the best of luck."

The 260,000 soldiers, along with 140 tanks and 20 APCs are now 15 minutes from the outskirts of the city, 40 fighters flying in front as they go over the city. Timmothy Walker breathed a sigh of relief as they approached, the force was mainly for support, lacking any strong amount of vehicles of fighters.

OOC: The Yurkans will be ignored until they explain HOW the heck did they get to Heston-city.

As per rocket-propelled grenade, I personally don't know what's so fun, but some people enjoy it. It is usually done in remote areas like Nevadan deserts, but the military is also able to do it all the time without much damage. :wink:

IC: An hour after the last civilian is evacuated, a sniper fires a shot at one of the guards at the factories.

Then, suddenly, three ATGMs hit the building of the TV stations. Hundred of IFV's begin showering the place with ATGM's and 30mm autocannons.

OOC: So how does one get their hands on an RPG launcher? As far as I know, there is no country in the world that allows it. So any people that "enjoy it" as you say are in violation of the law.

IC: "Let's try going for this base here. And, our regulations will let us unleash any sort of hell we want. There's no civilian areas nearby. It's not too terribly far from the border, and a lot of troops have just enlisted in the Allanean army, and are in basic training there. So we'll have to face a lot of troops, but they won't be well trained. An assault Ionised Beam Weapon should be able to handle any survivers after joint bombardment by railguns and these fifteen thousand pound shells of yours."

The troop in the neighboring window said quickly, "Man down." he then ducked down, and said into the microphone in the helmet, "Computer, thermal view."

He stood up, and aimed his weapon at the snipers, clearly visible in the thermal filter applied over the camera. All around, troops began opening fire on the Allanean positions. Green stun beams, 135mm shells, 110mm shells, and 75mm shells began tearing through them.

The television station was destroyed, but not before it sent out one last message. "Observe your army, so enforcing this war that they destroy your main source of information. We fight for peace. We have taken this city in order to bring this war to a quick end. Peace, our Allanean brothers."

"Rite," Spc. Ru replied. "Do you want a 15 thousand pound strike now or later?"

"Oh, and we're going to deploy a smoke screen," Trou said. "SOP for us. Do you mind?"

H9s and strike planes take off, munitions sitting in their hold.

General Walker looked up angrilly and pulled out his radio, "Sir Tas! They took the television station and murdered everyone!!! I'll need some gas to sneak in, have em EMP the place before they drop it. We'll need to keep Allanea from finding out anything while we're invading the city! Walker out!"

Tas nodded in acknowledgement from within the warehouse, "Liutenant Green, send a signal to the pilots that it's time to use the gas and EMP shockwave! Walker needs some assistance before he goes in!" Tas pulls out a radio and contacts the Feline and East Islandia military leaders, "Keep your troops away from the city! We're going to use one of Yurka's more complex military maneuvers and any of you nearby would jeopardise the mission!"

And with those words 40 fighters and 4 bombers were quickly dispatched, staying as high up as possible as they made their way to the city, the bomber's doors were struggling with the weights of the payload, but it was only 200 miles away and the bombers would no doubt make it.

Meanwhile the Yurkan troops quickly fortify their posisitions behind the tanks and APCs, moving anything possible into place for a barricade untill the bombers make it there within a few minutes.

In the early hours of dawning, a few eyewitnesses have glimpsed strange aircraft flying low in the skies in and around Heston City. Reports vary as to the size, speed, and shape of the aircraft; all agree that they were oddly shaped, dark-colored, and unusually quiet. The best description is of one that is believed to have landed at a disused turf airstrip near the city, but this has not been confirmed, and no planes (other than a few rusting crop dusters) were visible on the field by daylight. This plane was described as being smallish, jet black, flying-wing shaped, and ghostly silent. There is no report of any of these planes having been registered by radar.
During the night, six gigantic, unmarked cargo aircraft had landed on an emergency basis at LaPierre International Airport. Civilian traffic was cleared away while the unknown contents of these planes was offloaded, during which procedure some dozens of fighter jets of unknown provenance circled the airport at some distance. These accompanied the cargo planes on their departure early this morning, flying away from the combat zone at high altitude.
Investigation of radar observations reveal that these cargo aircraft and their escort originated from the Rogue Nation of Sammane. High Priestess Tiamat of Sammane has announced that humanitarian supplies and volunteer civilian medical personnel have been transferred to Allanea to assist in the treatment of casualties and the relief of distressed non-combatants. Sammanian resources will also be available for the assistance of any prisoners taken by Allanean forces, and Tiamat has offered to provide reports on the condition of such prisoners to their respective governments.
Sammane will, according to Tiamat, remain strictly neutral; no Sammanian military personnel are to enter the combat zone, and no units have been mobilized, other than medical companies whose members are filling in for the volunteers in Allanea.

Getting back to the business of the game, I've never liked the whole concept of "Declaring losses." It sort of turns roleplay into just a listing of statistics. When I started roleplaying, no one numerically declared their losses. You just went through. You lost an indefinate number of troops, and kept that in mind as you kept roleplaying to victory or defeat. Could we please do it that way?

The entire crowd of people outside will either die, or if they somehow can get somewhere out of the way within a few minutes, be numb and too busy vomitting to fight. Allanea's militia are NOT civilians according to the Yurka laws of combat. Here are some stats on Cyanide Gas:

The main reason cyanide gas is used is because at 56,000 parts per million it is explosive. And because unless an autopsy is done immediately any evidence of the gas disspates out of the body.

The Eighteen battleships and twenty two men carriers were completely unmarked and everyone inside was debriefed. At NO cost whatsoever were the enemy to find out they were Hogsweatian. In this case, death was not the ultimate price.

Tiborita:If I were you, I'd worry about other things... such as PROPHET.

Feline: Hard to get, involves humiliating procedures (though not as hard as a handgun in Israel or a rifle in the UK... but I digress), but possible, see Knob Creek shoot.

OOC: Most won't die from the gas, they'll die when it meets contact with the flaming television center. My troops are spread out over three fronts. This is the second largest and right now our main problem. Each of our troops are precious and we must continue along with our plans. We've decided not to use the gas.

Yurka's Vehicles: The tanks are slow(20mph average speed though capable of 40mph though overheating will occur shortly after) moving behemoths with two seperate turrets, each firing 200MM lobs.

The APCs are only equipped with two large chain guns on either side but are heavily armoured. The average speed for the APC is 60mph (80mph on road).

Allanea: The EMP bomb wasn't large enough to actually leave the city limits and was in fact dropped closer to the other side of the city just in case.

Hogsweat: It would be obvious to anyone judging from exactly where the ships were coming from. People would KNOW you're with Allanea when you don't send a message out to any of Feline's allies.

IC: The bombers fly high overhead, using thermal to spot the burning radio station. The pilot of the bomber dropping the EMP shockwave said one final thing over the radio before the other three dropped large amounts of gas canisters onto the streets below, "EMP dropped!"

At the first sound of of the EMP bomb dropping the Yurka troops rushed into the city screaming, "For the Empire!!!" as they rushed in firing at anyone holding a weapon, despite uniform. Using the EMP to keep stun the Allanean troops 100 tanks spread out through the city while the other 100 remain near the city limits. The soldiers are supported by the 20 APCs.

Losses:
860 soldiers building the barricade.
2,460 soldiers during the charge.
8 soldiers were run over by ally vehicles during the charge.
6 Tanks and two APC during the charge.

Six more cargo planes, with fighter escort, are inbound to Lapierre International Airport. High Priestess Tiamat has announced that these are Sammanian craft carrying humanitarian supplies. She has also requested that Sammanian inspectors be allowed access to Allanean prisoners held by Feline, to verify that these are being properly treated.

OOC: Since most of the troops I'm sending are already ocean bound it won't be very hard to have them get to Allanea. There wouldn't be any problems supplying or boarding the ships whatsoever.

Allanea: Post losses from the charge and EMP shockwave(If any).

IC: As the naval forces meet up with the West African half they quickly turn west towards Allanea. Once there they will have enough troops to take on Allanea's on more fair terms. But untill then the soldiers waited patiently, listening to the announcement over the intercom which was telling of the glories of the empire and how Allanea must be destroyed before they can ever be as glorious as they were once before.

Karth Grimoire sat back in his black leather chair, the warehouse around him was guarded to the teeth with snipers and riot wagons. As one of the few who could clearly recall the battle of Yurka, he wouldn't leave untill he brought the government of Allanea to his knees, one way or another, "Soldier, tell Timmothy Walker that it is imperative that we take Allanea's capital as soon as possible before any of their allies come anywhere NEAR Heston-City. We can hold them off from here as long as nobody outwardly bombs the port. Unfortunately I can never be too sure of the methods they might pull, keep the bombers loaded with the gas just in case..."

OOC: Do you know how much time it would take to field all of the people and time it would take dispatch that? Thousands each for the destroyers and cruisers, on average 6 mechanics per plane, not to mention the submarines. With your economy and that amount I'd like to know how many legions you have? You're leaving yourself open to attack since it looks like your entire military is devoted to the navy. You're leaving yourself wide open for an attack :wink:

"Well, my Emperor, I have not heard too much from the front, yet I have a little bit. A whole coalition of nations has ganged up on Allanea, yet Pyhric has left the coalition, so says a message from Pyhric. It stated he will not intervene against us, so we can count him as gone. The Allanean army is doing fair, I'd say, but they need help against the Doujin navy. Sadly, Doujin probably wont sell to us any longer, but that is the price we must pay. We can always clone thier thier ships the way China does with Russia." said Lord Alaric

"Well, Alaric, it seems I will give the O.K. for this operation. *Sigmund walks out* What can we send there?"

"We can route a small force of maybe 20,000 men to the Allanean front, while we can get a team of probably 20 special ops for rear harrassment. The sky's the limit as far as air cover is concerned. Naval forces will have to wait; they are tied up in a few bushfire wars. Some skillful diplomacy can liberate them."

"Very well; you have my permision to route the forces. I want General Frederick Aksum in command. He has been succesful. Order our ambassadors to give the coalition our declaration of war, and that they leave coalition nations. Stop trade with them."

Via aircraft, a small, but experienced force of 20,000 men were sent to Allanea, where it was thought that they would be happily recieved. Using fast Raysian transports (search for my thread about wanting an airplane, its in there if not on his website-no, its not the luxury one), the aircraft arived in small numbers within a few hours of the meeting. Within half a day, the entire force arived.

After the entire force arived, the declaration of war was issued.

In addition to 20,000 men, who include anti-tank squads, there are 3,334 M3A4 Bradley CFVs (A4 being my upgrade; as in all my land vehicles and sea vehicles, it uses hydrogen power. Upgrade adds a better FCS, TOW 2b Aero missle upgrade) and 1,000 towed artilery (along with the towing vehicles) of the XM777 LW 155mm variety.

After loading up and driving for a bit, the force was not in the combat zone against Feline and co, stopping in the rear area of the combat zone.

OOC : considering i have a pop of 1.3 billion with 7% being military + my governments compulsary military service - i have a military of 92 million. they are always on stand by and began mobilizing several days ago from several different ports and airfields on my coast.

Well, looking at the map, the naval forces that I deployed to that side of you would have to be on your northern shore. I thought you had a southern shore bordering Axacal (*Claps for Tiborita*), but the map on the link only has you having a northern shore. So I guess I am.

OOC: Given the incredible slowness of the NS server, I'm not going to moniter two threads to participate in one; if something isn't at least mentioned in this thread, I'll assume that it doesn't apply to actions here. Based on the facts that:
No mention was made here of any air interdiction, attempt to attain air supremacy, or disruption of civilian air traffic;
Feline has repeatedly stated - and honored - his intention to attack only military targets;
All of the principles on this thread (which do not include Tiborita) have made posts since the original landings, without challenging them;
I couldn't find anything on the other thread declaring any air actions other than over Axackal (I didn't read all twenty-some pages, owing to the fact it takes an average of fifty or sixty attempts to download each page);

The original Sammanian landings of cargo planes will stand. The current landings will also be carried out, since no one has declared any attempt to interfere with them.

Over here in the UK, its from about six o clock to twelve o clock in the morning - then it buggers completely. Find out what time your NS server likes to operate. Of course, it can be dependant on speed...you probably need high speed to get the NS forums.

OOC: Feline, if they go into hiding they won't die from the gas. Our soldiers always wear gas masks and since the common Yurkan soldiers' impression of someone from Allanea resembling someone from the deep south of the US(Which is being justified by most of the country owning rifles and acting like NRA presidents), they have little sympathy for the rampant militias unlike your forces. The gas will also numb the survivors so much that attempts to fire a gun would be pretty difficult.

Allanea post losses for the last attack and I'll do the same for this one.

IC: Troops fell left and right as the enemy was all around the Yurkan troops, Timothy tried to command the troops from atop a toppled APC which was still firing straight into a civilian district. All around him the young regulars were falling and tanks had suddenly begun firing into houses where shots were coming from.

"Stop this madness! This is no way for the great empire of Yurka to act!" General Walker's motivational speach was cut short as a bullet flew through his rib cage, his body falling to the cold pavement below as he looked up at a troop who ran to him. Timothy tried to issue orders but all that came forth was a gurgle of blood followed by silence.

All around the army was running amuk, lighting fires and killing without a figurehead to guide them. One of the lieutenants ran forward and snatched the general's radio, sneaking into an ally to use it.

"Hello! This is Commander Blake Zinct! We're dropping left and right here! Snipers are everywhere! Women, children, they're all fighting! WE NEED THE GAS!" The commander put the radio down and tossed a grenade into a nearby window where he spotted a faint light.

The gattling guns on the APCs riddled through the walls as they slowly backed out of the city, killing anything directly in front of them, ally or otherwise. Some of the APCs fired for such a long time straight that they were partially melted, only stopping for more ammo to be shoveled in as they slowly retreated, attacking buildings. The tanks were no better, attacking the bases of homes and buildings to kill the snipers above.

The soldiers were either firing at enemy posisitions and throwing grenades through windows, but eventually most of the soldiers either retreated back to the city limits or were hiding in buildings. They were not ready to fight an open war on an entire city...

Karth put down the radio and cupped his hands, Walker was dead if that commander had actually gotten ahold of the radio. Without a leader he would just need to promote one of the top commanders. He picked up his radio and called Feline, "My soldiers are dying in Heston City! Those are no civilians, those are just morons with a death wish! This entire country is a hive of evil without any hopes of redemption! We are going to use cyanide gas, it will only kill those outside and firing at us. There is a small problem with the gasses exploding when they contact with the fire, but I will not let another Yurkan soldier die for no good reason..." He nodded to a pilot standing over him who quickly ran off.

The pilot kicked one of the mechanics out of his chair and in minutes the augmented bombers were ready for takeoff with the deadly cargo.

The naval force quickly made their way to the port city the previous troops had landed at, making sure to stay as far away as the Yallak forces were stationed. The entire port that Yurka had taken over was completely controlled by snipers and Karth, with the entire navy awaiting the soldiers from Western Africa. They just hoped that they would be enough to stop a power such as Allanea.

After countless hours of driving the convoy ground to a halt. The sound of fire and cannon could be heard in the distance.

"Were nearly there" said General Caracas, deploy the first army to the borders of Heston city, all those loaded in APC's and the tanks are to be deployed to the North on the Axackal front.

OOC: Feline invaded Allanea along with some allies, Yurka also invaded later and is taking control of a port on the eastern penninsula. Allanean's typical citizen appears to be the same as a stereotypical person living in the deep south of the US. So since almost everyone in the country has a few guns, not including anti-tank weaponry. Yurka has finally decided to just gas the city of Heston with cyanide gas since it leaves no evidence of cause of death after a few hours.

IC: Yurka's naval forces finally arrive at the port where previous Yurkan ships have landed. Now that Yallak's fleet has reached land they could disperse troops at the Yurkan command point. The artillery is quickly dispatched first along the coastline to protect it from attack.

The entire airforce is sent off to attack Heston City and the Yallak troops. The bombers are armed with both cyanide gas and EMP bombs to immobilize their link to the outside world. The cargo ships are opened to allow additional bombers out.

If you are going to participate in a war, you should pay attention to all aspects of it. This is very confusing and a lot can be missed, and I wish that wasn't the case, but it is. If you do not have the time to keep yourself abreast of the entire situation, perhaps you need to reconsider if you wish to participate in such an involved RP.



Lastly, I don't how Feline feels about this, but Edolia has asked people to stop posting until a mod can clear some stuff up. This war is close to going down the crapper, so maybe we should just chill and wait for the mod to settle some issues.

well i waited for someone to post but after days i just landed, too late

OOC: Yallak, you do realise that you're essentially using your entire navy from the looks of it. The amount of destroyers and cruisers usually cost at least a billion+ each. Your economy would be dead, not to mention the face that your entire navy is in one region, leaving your entire nation defenseless against naval attacks.

IC: The Yurkan airforce finally arrives above the city, sending a final signal to the troops hiding on the outskirts, "Gassing in place, please keep gas masks on..."

The troops still in the city and listening to the radio retreat away from open flames or cover their heads with their hands. Less than a minute later the bombing starts and the cyanide gas quickly spreads, igniting with any existing fires and exploding, or killing anyone exposed within minutes. The only thing any of them are able to notice(Untill they're rolled over puking), is a slight almond smell among some of the troops. With enough gas to spare they move on ahead as quicky away as possible towards the Yallak troops.

A third wave of cargo planes is also arriving from the southwest of Allanea. This time there are fourteen cargo planes, escorted by twenty-two stealth fighters.

In the chill of the small hours after midnight, a light drizzle fell on the Feline fuel depot from an overcast sky that hid the waning crescent moon. The sentries, well away from the combat zone, were more disturbed by the dampness that seemed to permeate their fur than by any thought of enemy action.
None of them noticed the thirteen furtive shadows creeping through the grass of the nearby field. The drizzle and the faint breeze carried away any scent or sound that might have been noticed; thermal damping suits concealed the thirteen enemies from thermal imaging gear. The hiss of an arrow and the sound of its tip smacking into a Feline throat made one of the sentries glance around nervously, wondering if he had really heard anything, but before he could make up his mind, a strong hand jerked his head back and a razor-sharp obsidian blade opened his trachea to the damp night air.
Despite his captor's firm grip, the dying sentry, thrashing about as the knife plunged between his ribs and into his heart, managed to knock over his rifle, leaning against the canvas wall of the field tent. Sliding to the ground, it clattered against other gear. Inside the tent, more soldiers stirred uneasily in their sleep, and one opened a groggy eye. But it was too late - an expertly hurled grenade tumbled in through a slit in the tent, the sounds of its sudden bouncing against metal table legs and the gas hissing from it seeming impossibly loud in the otherwise silent night.
Seconds later, the yowls of awakening cats split the air, tables and cots overturned in a frantic scramble for gas masks and weapons. As the first ones outside the tent were brought down by arrows from the darkness, a rapid series of explosions rent the night. Within seconds, flames leaped high into the air, while burning fuel from ruptured tanks poured across the camp. Four slight black-cloaked forms sprinted away toward some nearby trees, all attempt at stealth abandoned in the effort to escape the spreading blaze. Arrows hissed from the trees toward the remaining cats, from black-clad archers still almost invisible in the shifting light of the growing inferno.

OOC: Six other special ops teams simultaneously conduct similar strikes. Three are directed at bridges controlling the Feline lines of supply into (and retreat from) Heston City, while one is directed at another fuel depot, and the last two at communications or headquarters units. A few expert snipers in and near Heston City also begin picking off officers, using weapons that have no muzzle flash and no report and fire tear-drop shaped steel-clad iron bullets with a tungsten penetrating core. The snipers are invisible to thermal imaging. None of them fires more than three times in any one attack.

OOC: You can't operate an army without supplies, in particular fuel for vehicles. A tank is not exactly spacious inside, and anything extra it carries is going to have to be on the outside.
The attacks on the headquarters units will be conducted wherever these are located, presumeably within Heston City. The attacks on the bridges will be assumed to have been carried out without resistance, since their purpose is as much to cut off your retreat as your supplies. If Feline doesn't have any fuel dumps, please explain where the fuel for your vehicles is coming from.

With heavy naval escort from Yallak, the Sammanian flotilla is making straight for whatever Allanean port on the southwest coast has the best road access to the country.

OOC: Our tanks are much larger than most nations. Our light tank is about the size of most nations MBTs, and our MBT is just huge. They're designed to be able to carry some cargo, and the MBT just has a large room-like cockpit inside. In the spare space, you could fit some supplies in. As for fuel, they have a powerplant built in that can use any type of matter as fuel, although some types work better. When they run out of fuel, we can just feed in some more matter.

I'll assume that I had some troops at outlying locations in Heston to fend of any Allanean re-enforcements and that is what you attacked. I'll make an IC response later today.

"It has come to our attention that the Empire of Yurka has employed poison gas on a large scale against non-combatants. This gas was dropped indiscriminately by aircraft on undefended concentrations of civilians. Tests of residues from the area have confirmed that this gas was hydrogen cyanide, which causes a prolonged and painful death.
"With deep sadness we must report that among the non-combatant deaths were at least three Sammanian aid workers, who were assisting in the treatment of Allanean civilians injured by previous bombardments. Memorial services will be held tomorrow for Doctor Sheila Morgan, who spent the last sixteen years saving the lives of trauma victims, and her two field assistants, Louise McIntyre and Rebecca Saint. The High Coven extends its condolences to the families of the victims, and to all Allaneans affected by these nefarious attacks.
"Because of the danger, our non-combatant aid personnel in Allanea are being provided with gas environment gear, and we are also distributing protective equipment to as many Allanean civilians as possible. It has been found unfortunately advisable to arm our medical staff in Allanea against possible attack, since the Yurkans do not respect non-combatant status.

She paused, surveying the twelve other members of the High Coven.
"If the Thirteen approve the transfer of antimatter weapons to Allanea, they will be transported immediately. With the Coven's permission, I will also make arrangements for employment of Exceptional Means."
The twelve glanced at each other in alarm. "Do you mean...." one of them started. Tiamat nodded.
"Yes, that's what I mean - direct appeal to Him."
One by one the twelve nervously raised their hands in assent. "Very well," announced Tiamat. "You know your duties. Make the preparations, but do not perform the sacrifices yet. Operation Catnip may still suffice."
The twelve did not seem reassured.

Appearantly undetected by Feline forces the Dive bombers swooped into the city letting go the dealy cargo onto any 'unusual' concentrations of forces, or any cat the showed itself on the streets. As the bombers attacked the F-22's struck raking an defences with cannons and missiles, their own JDAM 400 pound bombs tearing into the enemy.
From their hidden positions outside the town, the explosions signalled it was now time for the infantry to move in! (250 000 inf)

In the port of South Haven preparations have begun. Command General Adan Ring has been given command of the Purifiers Army, the Ring Bearer's Army and the Fists of the Vaad Army. In all 240,000 men in all with 6,000 Thunderer II battletanks, 10,000 Scorpion LAV's, 4,000 Warthog ground support planes and 6,000 HIND close support helicopters. The Retliatory Guard begin diligently loading onto the Atlas transports.

Command General Ring, already aboard the Battleship Sir Willaim Issem with his 4th Red Jaguar Command (2,000 men with 200 Chok-Mool super heavy battletanks) sent a message to Yallack's commander in SW Allanea

"Warriors of Yallack, the Republican Council has given mandate to our Supreme Republican Commander to end the conflicts plagueing our region of Haven. I have been commanded by the Supreme Republican Commander to move onto Allanea's southwest coastand cease all hostilities. I am fully prepared and authorized to use whatever force I may deem necessary. If you forces cease fighting and leave Haven, you will not be attacked. However, I will crush any forces still actively engaged upon my arrival. Consider yourself warned. Command Genral Adan Ring, out."

With that the first elements of the massed Naval Guard began to move out.

The Destroyers and submarines begin moving out immediately to prepare for the deployal of the Atlas transports. They are not yet engaging any forces. Ilek-Vaad's spy satellites with thermographic imaging are actively sweeping the seas for enemy subs , and tracking all enemy fleet movements.

The Imperial Navy, on the South West coast isn;t and as yet hasn't engaged in combat. As for land forces, those in Heston city are no longer engaged, and on the Axackal front, once disengaged the Austarian forces attack us. It is them you need to stop.

Command General Ring smiled as he received General Caracas' communication, he then replied.

"General Caracas, we are glad to hear that you and your men are not engaging in hostilities. Since you are unengaged as such you should have no problem packing up your operations and leaving Haven.

Please allow me to deal with the Austarian forces, we will assist you in your withdrawl if necessary."

He then nodded to Admiral Ilek. The Naval Guard forces were now danger-close to the Yallack fleet and were within easy range . South and east of the fleet the Retlaitory Guard began to unload their Atlases about 600 miles south of the Allanean border, the Fists of Vaad began setting up runways for their air support and the Purifier and RingBearer columns unloaded and prepped their vehicles.

"General, incoming comms" called out a lieutenant from somewhere below the ground.

Caracas headed down the ramp into his makeshift HQ, receiving the comms from Gerenal Ring.
"hmm, setup to send a reply"

Command General Ring, the Imperial Fleet will withdrawn from the coast within 36 hours. Ground forces based in Heston city and the Axackal front line will remain. They hold Allanean ground, and under the recently signed accord, quite acceptable to be there. They will make no aggression against enemy territory but will defend Allanean till death if need be.

Caracas exited the bunker, gathering nearby Captains to prepare fortifications, anti tank traps and SAM sites along the close proximity front.

Much further SW, Admiral Dagon began preparations to move the fleet south down the coast to a nearby friendly nation.

Command General Ring replies

"Then we will not touch your fleets. However when we arrive on the ground we will disable any forces on either side that are engaged in combat. We would also prefer that your ships head out of Haven and into international waters. We will provide transport for your troops once they have been disengaged.""

With that the Naval Gaurd begin to slip behind the Yallack fleet and take control of the coast. Yallack's ships are very closely watched and guarded.

Along the western coast of Haven the Ring Bearers and Purifiers begin moving to the Allanean border. The Fists of Vaad have arrayed armed and fueled all of their Warthog air support and are preparing for a massive assault.

The fleet began its journey out of the bay and down the south coast, declaring themselves neutral in this conflict.

"We once again thank you for honouring our wishes and helping to end this conflict. We will do everything we can to ensure the safety of your ground forces and to bring as quick an end to this conflict as is possible. If you require any additional assistance or have anything else that may be relevant to this situation, please do not hesitate to contact me"


The Naval Guard then move to seal the harbour and prepare to support the Retaliatory Guard assault headed up the coast from the south.

OOC: what cities are on Allanea's SW coast? and what is the terrain like. I did notice the post where Allanea moved it's southern forces to Axackal leaving only 70,000, but I stll need to know what's around. Thanks.

theres been some aurguing and alliance changes and creations, Ilek-vaad has landed to end the war.

The Fists of Vaad air support breaks over the SW coast of Allanea like a storm. Every trench, troop concentration, bunker and barrack was struck simultaneously by the 4,000 Fists of Vaad Warthog ground attack planes. These attacks are augmented by massive naval bombardments from the Revenge Battleships, their high velocity 48" batteries shelling any and all points of resistance. The cruisers in the Battlegroups loose their cruise missles judiciously, waiting for Allanean forces to fight back and then pinpointing their points of attack.

The entire operation is covered by the 1000 Orion Stealth fighters that are launched from the carrier groups.

At the same time the Purifier and Ring Bearer armies flood Allanea from the south, skirting the borders of The Prophet and moving in through the un occupied territories in Haven. These armies (160,000 men total) are supported and transported by 6,000 HIND helicopters, 10,000 Scorpion LAV's and 6,000 Thunderer II Battletanks. They are also being supported by 2,000 Red Jaguar Command with their 200 Chok-Mool Super Heavy Battletanks. The Chok-Mool's break any resistance that the Purifiers and Ring Bearer's may run into with their 280mm Howitzers.

The Attack is fast and mechanized, the Retaliatory Guard pound any hard point until it is completely gone and then rapidly move on, crushing resistance.

From his Chok-Mool Battletank Command General Adan Ring Hails the Allaneans

"You have repeatedly ignored our pleas to end this conflict. You have rebuffed offers by the UN Mediation Council to allow them to arbitrate peacefully in your dispute with Edolia. The Supreme Republican Commander has deemed that your continued actions in this conflict are harmful to the entire region.

We will now step in and end this conflict. If your forces withdraw from Axackal and end all fighting we will make sure that you are not invaded or occupied. Borders will be set as they were before this conflict. If you believe you have a right to Axackal then I would suggest you take the matter before the UN Mediation Council.

We will not tolerate any further hostilities.We will move to disable your nations ability to fight until you comply."

He then radios General Caracas of Yallack

"General, please have your forces stand by. Do not take any part in this fighting. We would not want your forces to become engaged at this point, we will take responsibility and shoulder the losses. As you are an ally of Allanea we would appreciate if you could take a support role. We are going to continue disarming Allanea , and all other combatants until hostilities end."

The Naval Guard shadow any movements by Yallack's forces and block their transports from landing for the time being.

He then Radios Feline's forces

"As you may or may not know, I have been ordered by the Supreme Republican Commander to end this conflict. I undestand that you have forces in Allanea. I have orders to end all fighting, on all sides. If your forces cease hostilities when we arrive then no action will be taken against you and your forces."

Back in the Vaadian port of South Haven, the Signifier and the Leveler armies complete boarding their transports and head for the SW coast of Allanea. The Levelers use the massive Manticore Demolition tanks. These giant tanks are equipped with 200mm smooth bore cannons, 2 30mm chainguns and a massive bulldozer spade for clearing mines and buildings. They can carry 8 men each. This is an additional deployment of 160,000 Retlaitory Guard, 3,000 Thunderer II Battletanks, 6,000 Scorpion LAV's, 2,000 HIND Helicopters and 4,000 Manticore Demolition Tanks.

OOC: But efficiency is reduced severely.
Besides, I've never been in a conflict long enough where it ran out- they are similar to fission reactors, with the fission reaction precisely controlled on a subatomic level. And, since it is so precisely controlled, and the operating principles are different (the fission thing is an analogy, sort of. They're an IC technology I came up with, inspired by fission) so it releases no radiation and can be more compact. Fission reactors can last for decades. I don't play it as that long, maybe a year or two.

We will gladly stand down weapons if Allanea and his allies do, the second they do and we are notified." said the commander of the forces, the feed being sent to the command center.

Command General Ring replies to the Feline Commander

" That is all we can ask. If when we arrive at your positions and Allanean forces are attacking you, we will disable them. If we arrive and you are Attacking Allanean forces, we will disable you."

Feline, until you know something about warfare, science, or at least reality, you might do well to refrain from "inventing" things that violate all of the above.

There are, believe it or not, reasons why tanks are not made to carry large amounts of supplies. You don't suppose that modern generals wouldn't like to be free of supply lines? If you increase the internal volume of the tank, you have to increase the surface area covered by armor, so the weight increases dramatically. Greater weight means a larger engine, which means more weight, a still larger vehicle to accomodate the larger engine, thus more armor weight, and so on - the increase is more than proportional. You end up with a vehicle which has much greater fuel consumption, so you lose most of the benefit of larger fuel tanks. It also makes a much bigger target, and because of the greater ground pressure is unable to drive off-road, a serious disadvantage in a fighting vehicle. Hitler's disastrous "Maus" was a good example of why tanks aren't cargo trucks. Soviet T-62 crewmen were chosen for their small stature, in order to save space inside the tanks.

Energy cannot be extracted from any abundant natural element by fission (iron is at the bottom of the binding energy curve), and any fission plant small enough to use in a tank certainly belongs in the realm of far-future fiction anyway.

I also said inspired by fission. Nothing to do with the actual process, I just got the idea from fission. It's like how an architect might see a shape of some office supply on his desk, and design a building that looks a little bit like it. The way this supposedly works is, due to our advanced knowledge in quantum physics (it's one of the areas our nation is most advanced in), we have figured out how to extract the strong nuclear force from atoms and direct it to turn nano-turbines. The science is junk, I'll admit, based on our current understanding. That does not mean that the following is not true:

1. The NationStates world, quite clearly, operates on slightly different physics than the Real world. First of all, it has to be much larger to fit all the nations. Second, with all the different technologies going around, it just has to be.

2. NationStates is a freeform roleplay. In other words, people make up what there nation is like. No one has ever given me problems about this until very recently. I have not been in many wars, but in the first war I fought, more of a short skirmish, people accepted lots of technology that cannot exist in real life on both sides. Same with then next one, the Amerigan War.

I swear, people have constricted roleplay so much now that if you even go slightly out of the bounds of reality, people start yelling at you for it. Back when I first started out, people accepted distortions of reality to make a good story, to keep with the free-form ideal. And let me tell you, people who are so pedantic like you, pop up from time to time. They don't seem to last long in the game that much.

My point is, this is freeform roleplay. As long as it is not an "OMFG I n00k j00 wit n00k r1fl3s!" or something like that, I accept it.

What is it, nearly a month IRL since this began?

OOC: Sammane, I know of at least a dozen nations that use 'hover-tanks' to expect or demand that any player in NS abide strictly by the rules of physics or by current RL technology is simply unacceptable.

The simple way that the NS itself is designed the NS world would have to have 300x the size of the earth to support the population numbers and the hundreds of thousands of nations.

Even nations that list themselves as 'current-tech' use weapons and armaments that are IRL experimental or not in common usebecause of excessives costs involved. A perfect example is the Yakhont Cruise Missle. More than half a dozen nations in this very conflict that call themselves modern tech use a 'Yakhont4 Missle' , they use it as a cruise missles against ships and land targets and specify that it flys at a speed of mach 4. Now, IRL there is no Yakhont4, the real Yakhont moves at a speed of mach 2 and is currently only designed and engineered as a submarine fired, anti-ship missle. In NS however, it is reasonable to assume that a 'current-tech' nation could conceivably, with enough resources (as afforded by a larger more populous NS world) make a bigger and faster Yakhont and engineer it as a more conventional surface to surface cruise missle.

Demanding a strict adherence to RL norms in NS just cannot be done. I generally let anyone RP any technology they can describe in an understandable manner. We all aren't physicists, strategists or scientists, and we can't expect that. It seems there are about 100,000 other nations you should be picking on if you find fault with Feline.

If they come upon forces that are engaged they immediately attack and disable both sides. The Air-Support and Naval Guard as well do not bomb or attack positions that let the Retliatory pass without incident. The Retliatory Guard do not disarm any citizens unless they attack the Retliatory Guard.

General Erith Kanaan of the Signifiers radioed the Feline positions " We will provide an escort for your forces to leave Allanean Territory , we can escort you to the northern coast or back to the SouthWest if you prefer, just let me know."

He also radioed the Yallack forces in the area "That is fine, we will keep our distance then. Do not allow your Allanean allies to leave their positions. If they attempt to engage our forces, we will retaliate."

On the Western Border the Purifiers and Ringbearers were in place. The Fists of Vaad had moved their temporary airfields to positions about 100 miles inside the border (on the Allanea side) and the 6,000 Warthog jets are now making regular patrols along the border.

The Heavier Purifier and Ringbearer armoured divisions (with 2,000 Thunderer II Battletanks each) seal off the static rail and road entry points and conduct searches of everything crossing the border. No military supplies are allowed to cross any armed forces that cross the Allanean border are immediately pummeled by artillery and then by close air support.

The rest of the divisions being regular shifting patrols with their Scorpion LAV's to prevent infiltration of the border at any other areas.

The fighters from the Carriergroups are joined by an additiopnal rotation of 800 Orion fighters from the Air-Guard and 5 wings of Death's Head stealth bombers.

Command General Adan Ring then contacts the Allanea Command

"You will see that your chances of re-inforcement and resupply are nil. I am waiting to see if you have pulled your forces from Axackal yet, I know that Yallack has. Once again, if you remove your forces from Axackal and cease hostilities we will be more than happy to leave, you will see that you can gain nothing by continuing this war.

If you believe you have territorial rights to Axackal then I suggest that you take them up with the UN Mediation Council and resolve them in a civilised and peaceful manner. We have noticed your troops now attempting to head westward, those troops have 1 hour to cease movement and operations or I will order the Air-Guard to bomb any position where your forces are mobile and continue to move to re-inforce your positions.

I am in control. You will cease your aggression. You will stand down."

Also Yallack has posted that he has sealed Heston City, are your troops attacking Yallack's lines to get through? You will also notice that 2 Retaliatory Guard Armies are ringing Heston City.

Command General Ring sat and watched the flat panel screens in his Chok-Mool Super heavy battletank as Allanea forces began to move on his positions.

"Well, it looks like the Allaneans have changed their minds again and decided we aren't peace-keepers, very well, let them have it seargent."

Outside of Heston City the Manticore Demolition tanks (6,000 of them) opened up, targetting every Allanea position and troop frormatiion with the 280mm howitzers. Stationed at several miles outside of the city, it would take an hour or more, under constant fire for the weary Allanean soldiers to even reach the Leveler and Signifier lines.

As the remnants of Heston City's defenders made their way out of the blazing inferno that had been their positions in the city they were met by the Red Jaguar. 200 Chok-Mool Battletanks with 2x30mm chain guns oipened up on them, while 2,000 Red Jaguar Commandos made hit and run attacks augmented by the Signifier mechanized division of 2,000 Scorpion LAV's and 20,000 Retaliatory Guard, the rest of the 180,000 Retaliatory Guard that ringed Heston City waited to see if there were any survivours.

Along the Western Border the 400,000 Allanean arriving from the Goobergunchain border found themselves continually harassed by 6,000 Warthof ground support jets and 2,000 apache gunships and 2,000 HIND helicopters.

The 1,800 Stealth Fighters engaged the sad remnants of Allaneas airforce, the Allaneans by taking off had advertised their remaining airfields and these were now being hit by the Death's Heads Stealth Bomber squadrons.

The Purifiers and Ringbeares positions along the Western border simply begin to make hit and run attacks on the 400,000 Allaneans coming down from the north, they make no attempt to dig in, they use their superior speed and air-superority to bludgeon the Allanean infantry.

Command General Ring hailed General Caracas of Yallack "You see General? The Allaneans are a treacherous bunch, first they hail us as peacekeepers, and then they attack us. I will not argue if you feel obligated to assist them against us, just remember they have betrayed every ally they have ever had, and as they welcomed you, they will turn on you. I thank you for your help and hope that you will not be ensnared by Allanean promises and lies."

Command General Ring then contacted the Felinean Commander "Allanea has decided that peace is not the answer, they have attacked our forces, you may go at them with impugnity and we will not target or hinder your troops."

All of the defence by the Ilek-Vaad forces are hit and run, they stay at range DO NOT engage in close quarters fighting and make the 400,000 Allanean infantry chase them. I have enough transports to carry all of the arrayed Retaliatory Guard so they have no need to stay on foot, or remain static. Any time the Retaliatory Guard are outnumbered they simply give ground and make your forces pursue them.

In that case, all Allanean forces in Heston city are directed to the Western border to prevent stop it from being sealed.

I will be more than happy to Send Colonel Erdogan of the 1st Red Jaguar Command to Arrandin for peace talks. As we all know one of the conditions I originally set was Allanea taking their Axackal claims to the International Mediation Council to avoid bloodshed. I am in favour of any measure that peaceably ends this conflict.

I will note that at every oppurtunity for peace the Allanean government has pointedly refused to negotiate. I do not expect them to do so now. If they do, I will immediately dispatch Colonel Erdogan to discuss terms.

Your losses *are* unrealistic. Perhaps you should take heavier losses and realise that most Soviet-style equipment had its downfalls (And some very tragic)...for instance putting gas tanks in the weakest section of armour on some of their APCs and IFVs.

I'll talk to you on mIRC about it, but you definitely need heavier losses.

the 80,000 strong Leveler army with it's heavy Manticore demolition tanks and Scorpion LAV's begin taking Heston City, block by block. Any hard target that gives them trouble is pounded by the 280mm howitzers of the Manticores. the Manticores are also equipped with 5in thick bulldozer spades to clear mines, obstructions, buildings, etc...

The Signifier army remains in a loose circle around Heston City, sending in their Hinds and Apaches as needed. The Red Jaguar also hang back, giving support with their Chok-Mool super-heavy battletanks

The Purifier and Ring Bearer Armies continue to make the Allaneans chase them, using their Scorpion LAV's, Hinds and Apaches to full effect, keeping at distance and striking at the ungainly 400,000 man, 40,000 vehicle advance. the Warthog ground support planes move to attack the tanks coming from the north, wityh roughly 6 warthogs to each tank, the tanks are almost certainly gone.

The Purifiers and Ring Bearers move continually, leap froging each other and circli8ng around each other to confuse the Allaneans. Everytime the Allanean force chases off one attck, a new fresh attack materilizes at their flank, in a demoralizing hit and run campaign.

The Death's Heads sub-orbital bombers, having destroyed every airfield, now move on to dropping MOAB's and Daisy-cutters on the Allanean troop formations, in shifts at the rate of 196 every hour and a half

At the coast Admiral Ilek decides to take some action of his own

"Off load the Naval Guard Marines, take complete control of the coast , leave no legitimate target standing."

With his order the Battlegroups begin to unload their main guns, the arrays of 48", 36",12" and 6" guns from the various ships pound everything along the coast, every military installation, every goverment building, every police station and every transportation center is pounded into rubble.

Behind the massive bombardment the 35,000 Naval Gaurd Marines off-load with their equipment and begin consolidating their stranglehold on the coast.

The 1,779 Orion stealth fighters also begin targetting anything that attempts to cross the Western border , and picking off the stray Allanean fighter or bomber.

The Naval Guard also ready their cruise missles, with the Allanean forces chasing the Retaliatory Guard south, they will soon be in range of the missles.

OOC: I'm assuming your planes are a.) either gone or b.) out of fuel and ammo, you did not post any defensive counter measures to my Stealth bomber strikes on your air-fields, and I'm not going to assume what you don't post.

Cruise missles can't be used against ground targets? Cruise missles were used against ground ground targets in afghanistan (against terorist training camps), in Iraq (against static Republican Guard formations as well as barracks, munition dumps etc.), a group of 400,000 men with 40,000 vehicles would be an easy target for a cruise missle, even if they were moving the formation would be so big that even an indirect hit would cause damage.

There is no reason a cruise missle be used against a ground based target. Accuracy will suffer against a moving target, but I'll take my chances with the ridiculous number of Allaneans tromping around.

Allanea has declared a cease fire on all fronts

With the cease fire declared, Command General Adan Ring orders his forces to cease their hit and run attacks, he does maintain the Orion border patrols and the continues to patrol with the Warthog ground support jets.

With the Leveler army now in Heston City the 4th Red Jaguar Command move into the city behind them. He then immediately looks for the Yallack officer in charge and greets him and explains what he sees as his next move.

"Very pleased to meet you Captain, I am Command General Adan Ring of the 4th Red Jaguar Command. Let's hope we can end all of this unfortunate mess and head home soon. For now, however,We're going to sit tight as long as the cease fire holds. We won't attack the Allaneans so long as they don't attack us, although, that only worked temporarily last time. I've ordered my men to consolidate our hold on the city, restore order and restore essential services, I have also ordered the Naval Guard to begin allowing the Red Cross and Red Crescent into Allanea via the secured coast and to move aid and aid workers into Heston City.

If Allanea removes it's forces from Axackal , this will be a short lived occupation, but I have orders to reamain in Allanea until Allanea withdraws from Edolain territory."

He then begins setting up the Red Jaguar Command center at a suitably sized public building, like town hall. The command building is ringed with the Red Jaguar's 200 Chok-Mool Super-Heavy Battletanks.

On The SouthWest Coast the 5 fresh Retaliatory Guard armies begin to arrive and disembark via the ports secured by the Naval Marines. They are escorted by an additional Carrier Group adding another 250 Orion fighters to the border patrols.

Disembarking are the Scorcher, Eagle, Dark Horse, Leopard and the Storm Cloud armies. They are led by the 7th Red Jaguar Command.

These forces amount to 400,000 Retaliatory Guard, 10,000 Thunderer II Battletanks, 25,000 Scorpion LAVs, 3,000 Warthog ground support jets, 6,000 Apache helicopters, 8,000 Hind helicopters

2,000 Red Jaguar with 200 Chok-Mool Super Heavy Battletanks.

These forces begin to rotate with the Ring-Bearers and the Purifiers to give them well deserved rest and resupply.
