OOC: Irish, I have a few things left to do in space but they shouldn't really need you. Also, I’ve got some men down there so I could help out a bit.

The men stood watching the dragon with their guns in their holders. They watched as pieces of armour twisted in mid-air and flew toward him, dropping into place and locking together.
"What was that?" one man asked,"
"I have no idea, he must work for those psi guys,"
as they talked so did the dragon,
" Non intellego .”
"What was that,"
"I don't know, Not Intelligent, I don't know lets just get out of here,"
"Ok," the man said as he grabbed his intercom, "Minister Toro, General A is not in the holder bay,"
the men left the room and locked the door.

---

Once they left the ship the WD soldiers started to defend the new base. In the towers covering the corners and centre of the base they set up gattling cannons. On the ground they began wiring up spotlights and outside they dug up trenches and began tunnel networks.

OOC: yeah those pics are pretty cool, i don't have the technical means to do that oh well. My power armor is significantly different though its less of a means of protection but rather a means to carry more weapons i mean sure the armor is practically impenatrable but its all about the weapons. Basically i created the fastest, smallest, and best protected platform for carrying weapons oh yeah! and from the pics my power armor seems like it is a little more technically advanced then yours...but whatver we will fight together Hoorah. btw www.freewebs.com/bigred22/ has all the specs for my power armor and such.

Ak'mar sighed. I should have known.
He drifted over to the door and examined the lock. Never seen this kind of lock before... perhaps I can burn through the door?

He took a deep breath, then stopped suddenly. Just a moment. They probably won't take kindly to me cutting through their doors.. and I don't like the look of those weapons of theirs.

****************************************

Sk'mak looked around him as he walked towards the White Dwarf base. "Impressive."
Arak snorted derisively. "Amateurs."
He poked his head into one of the tunnels, and yelled at the soldiers inside. "Hatchlingss, if you keep digging that way the tunnel'ss going to collapse on your heads."

OOC: What my armor lacks in sheer protection and heavy weapons capability (60mm+ cannons), it makes up for in mobility, stregnth enhancement, and shield systems. :)

IC:
The Colonel was inside his tent, reviewing the satmaps of the area when Corporal Becker ran in to make his report.

"Colonel! The engineers report that the mines are deployed. Anything that approaches from the south is dead meat. For the north and west sides, we've deployed the prefab turrets. Unfournately, the east side is the least defended side. It merely has some barracades and tank bunkers. Sir, may I speak frankly?" Becker was out of breath.

"Go ahead, Corporal." The Colonel replied

"Well...Sir, we could really use some air support. Do you think there's time to requisition some hornets or something? We could really use the quick response capability." Becker always liked the fast response options that helicopters gave him.

"Well...I believe so. I'll requisition some for our use." The Colonel began composing a message to command.

Within an hour, five XAH-12 "Hornet" light attack helicopters arrived at the encampment via Skyranger II heavy transport, their computer cores going into sleep mode until needed. Two of them had twin gattling lasers, and two had twin 40mm gattling guns. The final one carried two "Lawgiver" missile packs. This would be plenty of air support, and since the choppers were automated, their loss would not be major.

The men continued to dig until something pocked its head in and talked,
"Hatchlingss, if you keep digging that way the tunnel'ss going to collapse on your heads,"
"What the hell, Dragons!" one guy said as he turned around and saw the creature,
"Crap, what do we do," one man said as he fell to his knees, "Don't hurt us,"

---

A man sat stationed at one of the towers. He waited with his hands on the guns. As he waited he saw something go into the tunnels,
"What," he picked up the com, "Hay guys, look down near the tunnel, what do you make of it,"
" Don't know " came one voice,
" I reckon it looks like a dragon , "
" Phil, your closer, you check it out,"
" Me, hell no, I ain’t going to look at a dragon. Lets just fire at it , "
" He's got a point, its another psi I reckon, "
" I don't care what you reckon, I'll call Minister Toro,"
The man set up a link to the Offworld,
" Minister Toro, there are dragons down here. Should we trust them,”

---

Minister Toro picked up the comlink to reply to the question, "We need all the help we can get. There’s a dragon up here as well. Talk to those ones, maybe they can help us with communication between our races,"
" Will do Minister "
After Andres put down the comlink another one came through
" Minister Toro, this is the commander of Offworld 8, we have a discovery for you, "
"What is it commander" Andres Asked,
" Well Minister Toro, you won't believe this but we are floating above the nation of White Dwarf, "
"Did you say White Dwarf"
" yes minister, we have taken some recon pictures and this White Dwarf is from the past "
"The past, send those pictures to me,"
" Right away minister "

It took a long wait but the pictures finally came through,
"Let’s see," Andres thought, "Launch pad Century and Horizon are there but Launch pad Toro is still under construction. It looks like its half completed, that means that in one month I show the council my plans for the Offworlds."
Andres hurried over to the Comlink section,
"Emergency call, tell Offworld 8 to get away from White Dwarf"
"Yes Minister"
"If I see the Offworlds before I start building them they may never be built" Andres thought.

Arak snorted. "I'm not a dragon. Sk'mak here is." He gestured out the enterance with a packarm. "I'm not going to hurt you, but your tunnel does need work."

Arak dropped through the enterance into the tunnel. "First, you've got a square roof. If somone drives a tank over this tunnel it's going to collapse. Plus, you don't have enough bracing for this kind of soil, and especially not for a tunnel you might have to defend. A single Thor grenade set on Implode would pull the whole thing down on your heads."

************************************************

Ak'mar finally made up his mind. I've got nothing else to do... I'll cut through.

He laid a Sharpening spell onto one of his claws, and slid it through the door, cutting the metal like tinfoil. He sliced out a neat half-circle around the locking mechanism, then shouldered the door open.

OOC: Sorry, thought you where all dragons :)

The men stood at the worksite listening to what these people had to say,
"Well, maybe you could help us out,"
One man said as he approached the person,
"This is your land, is it?"

---

"We need all the help we can get. There’s a dragon up here as well. Talk to those ones, maybe they can help us with communication between our races,"
"Ok Minister," the man replied as he put down the comlink and leaned over the edge of the tower, "DRAGON, WE DON"T WANT TO HURT YOU"
After that a WD worker came out of the tunnel,
"DON"T WORRY THEIR FRIENDLY, I THINK THIS IS THEIR LAND WHERE ON," the man shouted.

Arak shook his head. "Nah. Thiss iss Half-Moon Goblin territory. I'll brace the tunnel up a bit, but I don't have too much time."

He snapped the tip of one claw along the inside of another, producing a loud snap and a shower of sparks. Green tendrils of light skittered across the floor, sinking into the walls and reinforcing the existing braces. "There. That's all I can do."

Just as he finished the man from the tower came into the tunnel,

Arak shook his head. "We've got to head back to Khrrck and get reinforcements. And rest. We've all been running around too much."

Tk'akr nodded. "I could sleep for days. And I want to get this damn armor off."

Sk'mak stretched lazily, and engaged his levitation spell, rising slowly into the air. "We all need rest. Come on, let's get going. The sooner we do, the sooner we arrive."

Arak levitated as well. "Agreed."

Tk'akr tensed herself. The sections of armor covering her folded wings slid back with a rattle of metal, and she launched herself into the sky with a mighty leap.

"I wish you wouldn't do that,” Andres told the dragon as he confidently walked up to it, "I'm Minister Toro and this is Offworld 6, it's a space station that holds a city of people, and the city its self"
After the brief explanation of the Offworld, Andres extended his hand,
"So, can we be allies"

OOC: Ok, time for an Offworld update

http://whitedwarf2.tripod.com/offworlds/

On this site there is two basic pics.

The civilian one is the design for Offworld 1 -> 10, the Militia design is for Offworld Militia and Outpost.

Now to talk about the civilian design.
The big ring spins to create a fake gravity. Inside the ring is an average city going through out the entire ring. The ring is then connected to the rest of the offworld by four tubes. These tubes are elevators that go form the city to the rest of the offworld. The big square thing (hold with me I don't have a name for it) is the engine, storage and dock part. The docks are the two little doors (two for each side) that are placed one above the other; these docks take up two levels. The engine rooms are towards the back and the storage is in the middle between it all, (The storage takes up several levels and is only accessed by the bottom floor of the square). On the top of the square is a smaller square thing. This is the bridge, which also takes up two levels.

In the entire square is ten levels high, so that means that, Krrck, your dragon Ak'mar is on the bottom level.

So if any of that made sense to you, there you go.

One of the abandoned goblin tunnels began to glow a radioactive green as a weird looking mirror formed in the wall. Almost seconds after th skaven began poring out, this expedition was made up of only clanrats armed with warpstone powered guns. After about 20 came through a taller blacker furred one step through. Armed with a pistol, a blade where his left hand should be, and all sorts of mechanical implants. "Move you foul light-light haired elves" This comment recieved lots of murderous glares. To a skaven, being called an elf was really low. Iskrit(the warlock engineer) shouted at the portal "Get the ratling gun through quick-quick". The hand cranked weapon was deadly in combat(both to the enemy and user) it has enough firepower to wipe out a jeep in 30 seconds(from killing the crew with the radioactive bullets mind you). Even as the expedition set off more poured through to secure the tunnel....
OOC:for those of you who don't know the skaven are an evil race of rat-men from warhammer, as for the portal, think WARCRAFT II BEYOND THE DARK PORTAL for the orcs.

The Skaven are a race of malevolent rat-men that inhabit the underground of the Warhammer world. The tunnels of their vast under-empire reach from the steaming jungles of the Southlands to the snow-covered steppes of Kislev, from the western borders of Estalia and Bretonnia to the lost realms of the Far East. Their capital is the mysterious city of Skavenblight, hidden in the center of the foul marshes lying on the western borders of Tilea. There, the mighty Lords of Decay, ruthless rulers of all Skaven, sit on the Council of Thirteen, scheming and preparing for the time when their armies will emerge from the subterranean realm to raze the entire surface of the world. Such is the ultimate ambition of the Skaven race, a destiny preached by the Grey Seers, who are powerful Wizards and prophets of the Horned Rat, the malevolent Skaven deity.

Skaven society is structured into a number of clans that constantly vie with each other for dominance, and their political system is dominated by endless treachery. In addition to the Warlord clans, which supply Clanrat Warriors, Stormvermin, Clanrat Slaves, and Rat Swarms, there are four major clans that contribute troops to the Skaven horde: Clans Pestilens, Eshin, Moulder, and Skryre.

Clan Pestilens, as the name implies, aims to spread disease throughout the world. Led by Plague Priests, the troops of Clan Pestilens include the Frenzied Plague Monks, Plague Censer Bearers, and Plague Rat Swarms, which attack the enemy with diseased, Poisoned Attacks.

Clan Eshin disappeared from the Skaven society of the Old World many centuries ago and was considered lost. Eventually, its members returned to Skavenblight, though many of their habits had changed. Clan Eshin had traveled widely, learned much in distant lands like Inja, Cathay, and Nippon, and perfected the art of silent and stealthy warfare. As such, Clan Eshin provides Assassins as well as light skirmishing troops and infiltrators called Night Runners and Gutter Runners to the Skaven horde.

The members of Clan Moulder are animal trainers who experiment with radical, and often Chaos-influenced, crossbreeds between the creatures they capture. Master Moulders and Packmasters lead units of Giant Rats and hideous Rat Ogres into combat.

Finally, Clan Skryre is the most experimental and intellectually advanced group of Skaven. Members of the Clan specialize in the blending of evil magic and arcane Skaven technology. The Clan’s Warlock Engineers have developed several types of ranged weapons that can have a devastating effect on the enemy: Warplock Jezzails, Poisoned Wind Globes, Ratling Guns, Warpfire Throwers, and the dreaded Warp-Lightning Cannon.

These troops are led to battle by Grey Seers, who sometimes bring Screaming Bells, giant magical bells pushed forward by the Skaven horde, and by Skaven Warlords who are the most powerful fighters in the Skaven army. These leaders have many different types of weapons and troops at their disposal and must coordinate them in well timed attacks. Though the Skaven are numerous and almost always outnumber their foes in battle, they are, by and large, weak and undisciplined. Only when they have sufficient numbers do they have the nerve to enter into protracted combats, and only when they can bring their huge numbers to bear can they bring down the enemy. However, as many a commander who has watched his men fall to the teeming numbers of the Skaven horde can attest, the rat-men are formidable foes and can destroy even the most battle-hardened veterans by sheer weight of numbers.

All the approaches to the ship are mined, and most have manned turrets (minigun and laser beam) protecting them. In addition, there are numerous foxholes from which troops can take pot shots at your forces. Then, we have IG's troops, who are brandishing light artillery cannons. OOC: I don't like the idea of us being attacked by both magik weilding skull like things and Rats at the same time, specially ones that somehow can burrow right under our sophisticated sensors. Oh well.
IC: "Holy shit!" yealled one of the boomers as a large rat burst from the ground in front of him. He immediatly dropped his 60mm cannon into line with the target switched to fletchett rounds, all in 2 seconds the rat was still blinking in the sunlight. He feathered the trigger and released two rounds and point blank range. The rat disappered into a welter of blood black fur and guts. The next few out met the same fate from the same cannon. The boomer retreated walking backwards keeping fire up with his small 1mm railgun. The hypervelocity rounds has no trouble cutting through the unarmored rats. The rest of the boomers joined in the slaughter some even dropped some HE rounds into the hole cuasing more havoc as their warheads went off. After a few minutes of one sided killing the rats stopped coming. After it had been established that a tunnel was in the ground a probe droid was launched into the tunnel it quickly began to hover down its length broadcasting images and information back to the boomers. Eventually the probe came out the other side and discovered the entrances to the other few tunnels that had been dug.
"TSGT Chen! Call down the hammer..." Said the boomer's commander.
"You got it sir!" Called back Tech Sargent Chen smiling.
"Hyperion group beta at the ship requires a fire mission. Tac Infro in rount 6 rounds should do it."
"Roger Beta group, Round inbound on my mark.......mark!"
The Sargent also broadcasted a wide beam warning for all the troopers to keep their heads down.
High above the planet 6 8 foot tubes popped out of the Hyperion with a hissed of pressurized gas. The oriented themselves quickly with small jets then accelerated towards the planet. In seconds the outer casings broke apart and the tear drop shaped rounds 6 feet tall began to hurdel towards earth. Their speed was tremendus by the time the boomers picked them up on their scopes, and all everyone who wasn't looking for them saw was a blinding flash of light as the 6 rounds pounded into the tunnel entrances. Goutes of flame and plasma shot into the air as all the kinetic energy of the fall transfered into heat and light. There was only a smokeing crater left. The first shots of the hyperion were direct hits.

The unnamed feeling by mettalica belted from the high end speakers of alpha group's suits. The large contingent of power armor slowly snaked their way into the base bounding over the mine fields and barbed wire. At the base they split up several went off into the brush to make it back to the original base they would consoladte there with some of White Dwarfs men. The rest would help form a perimiter around the boomers. Several suits moved out into the water and moved fully submerged into areas around the ship ready to pop out during an attack and fire into the rear of an enemy force.
Meanwhile up in space the Frigates Hermes and Mercutio recovered their ACS and Fighters and departed for the portal. They had been on station for several weeks and High command thought it was a good idea to bring them home. Anzag and Strum departed with relife that things had gone so well for them even though they had been shot through time and space. On their way out the Two ships passed 4 rearm/ressuply lighters that were flying in to support the action group that was now on station.
And at the original base....
The ACS were no firmly in control of the area, they were well dug in and well supplied. Many suits had heavy weapons slaved to their target sites. For instance a quad barreled anti-tank cannon, which could pulse high energy plasma down range at an impressive rate. The area was heavilu smart mined and covered in automated sensors. Nothing would get within a mile of the base undiscovered.

OOC: Ok Krrck let me explain. The mutual thing was meant as a sort of joke since Rats had already started to post and only one person said yes. So don't take it the wrong way. And about the Latin I'll explain what I said better. When you speak English and hear the words Non intellego then you think what that means. So intellego is sort of like intelligent and non could be close to not. So as you can see when my men heard Non intellego they looked for the closets words they could think of. So don't get angry at me for trying to get some communication. Also when I said "When you speak English" I didn’t mean you don’t speak English so don't get angry at that.

Now, what’s happening now? As I see it in the IC, I'm talking with Krrck hoping to get an alliance, Irish-Germanic is with Central Facehuggeria and I think Freethinkers is in there as well. And what happened to Half Moons, last thing he did was launch nukes at everyone then he left. Anyway, If Acursed doesn't reply Mutant Dogs should be back soon.

Also this is my last day until I go on a trip. I may get internet where I'm going. Don't know, so I'll have to finish things up for a while.

IC: Andres finally got to the bridge with the dragon,
"Minister Toro, so this is the subject," the translator said as he saw the dragon,
"Yes, the language sounds like one from earth, I'll let you decide,"
"Ok Minister, Dragon, come this way," the translator said as he motioned the dragon to come to a circular room.

After the dragon was in the room an man approached Minister Toro,
"Minister, we think we could use White Dwarf to help us in this battle,"
"We can't get any military equipment, the Offworlds aren’t even built yet, no one here has clearance, and even I don't have permission at this time,"
"We don't knead military vehicles, we can use busses and cars to make technicals. We just need basic equipment and combined with the weapons we have it should work out,"
"How are our workshops,"
"All the workshops on this Offworld are ready and are fully equipped,"
"Excellent,"
"So we have clearance to go,"
"Yes you do, and I’ll come to,"
"Yes Minister, the shuttle will be prepared in 80 minutes"

Back in the circle room the translator had begun,
"Do you understand anything I say," the man waited and watched the dragon to see if anything came out."

OOC: Ok, so if no one replies this might end up being my last post for a week. Please hurry.

"This is Captain Willis of the TDF America, and we wish to call a meeting on our ship. In this meeting we would like to discuss what our goals for this area are and how we will continue to interect with each other, also it will be pressing to discuss how we will deal with the Acursed legion and the possible return of the "Kin". Transportation will be provided just respond with your pick up locations"
"Minister Toro, we have a message for you," one of the com men yelled,
Andres came to the com section as fast as he could,
"I see, send back a message, I'll be at their ship in at least 2 hours,"
"Ok Minister," the man said as he began a comlink, "Captain Willis, this is Offworld 6 of the WD fleet, our minister in command Minister Toro will be arriving at your ship in 2 hours. Our own transport will be used."

"We have nearly prepared for the return," The General thought as he watched the men continue their training. All the men now had a red headband around their heads. On this headband was RC. This new army under the command of General A was going to be known as the Red Council.

"Excellent, Commander, this Offworld is again under your control,"
"Right Minister," the commander replied,
"To the shuttle then," Andres said as he made his way to the shuttle.

I wasn't long until the docking doors had opened and the shuttle had taken off. After some time the Terran ship came in sight,
"Minister, your destination is coming up, get ready," the pilot said over the intercom, "the rest of you, the nation of White Dwarf is on the other side of the planet so enjoy the ride."
"I hope this works" Andres thought, "As my knowledge goes no one can change the past, every attempt will be stopped even if it resorts to death. The space elevator's base was begin pourned into the soft dirt. Cement and slicates turned the loose dirt into hardpack. After that shuttles began to unload the thousands of kilometers long carbon nano tube cables. Engineers in power armor begn to stack these spools of cable in a bunker near by other engineers were working ongetting the attachment point anchored into the rock hard soil. Things were going pretty smothly in the construction process so far. Regular troops in power armor began to clear a 10 foot wide path into the brush and woods around the base. They were slowly working thier way to the ocean. Once this trail was complete engineers would move in and create a pipeline that would bring water directly into the base for transport into space via the space elevators.
Also in space, the newly arrived supply ships began to set up tanker stations above the polls. These stations turn water into liquid hydrogen and liquid oxygen fuel. The fuel was badly needed at this point, with so many shuttle trips to and from the planet the ships fuel bunkers had begun to run low. With these stations set up a long term presence in this system now became viable for the TDF forces.
More projects in the works include a de-salination plant for the pipeline, permanent barracks, a perimiter wall, and a small manufactory. The TDF will remain in system for a long time...

Ak'mar tilted his head, then lowered it down to the level of the microphone. He did it slowly and carefully; humans tended to react badly when in close proximity to someone who could take their head off with one bite. "Who are you? What is this place? What's going on?"

"The path to the sea is complete. The base by the sea is also moving towards completion. Several large bunkers are being dug into the ground to house the hydro electric power stations and to house the pumping stations for the water. Also several living areas are being sunk into the ground. The biggest construction project that is underway is the long pier. It is going to be a mile long out into the ocean. It will be used to house the Stealth subs of the Terran Navy. This base next to the sea is due to be completed in 4 months.
Scouts from Alpha base (the one with the elevator complex) have also begun moving out into the mountains nearby looking for a suitable place to bury a medium class automated manufactory. There are now 3 elevators done and 3 more in the works, all of these have a 10 tonn capacity for lift. The space side versions of the dock will be completed in 3 weeks just in time for all 6 elevators to come online, in the mean time shuttles will be used to carry supplies from ships in orbit back to the planet." Not to be outdone, the Colonel put in a requisition for additional combat engineers to assist in the construction of a foward resupply base.

Specifically, he wanted heavy weapons turrets and fixed artillery platforms. Unfournately for him, the 'psionic nullifier' which was supposed to prevent any psychic activity in the surrounding area wasn't functioning properly. As such, he had to ship the prototype back to the lab to find out what the hell was wrong.

*An undetermined amount of time later*
The engineers arrived and began working. They used their suits' powerful diamond tipped drills and large earthmoving vehicles to dig a deep hole, like a bunker but larger. They then coated is in instacrete (TM) and waited for an hour before the stuff hardened. Once that was done, they affixed a pair of heavy steel sliding doors to the bunker, and shabang. The arms depot was complete. Stationary turrets were set up at the entrance, and trenches were dug around the entirety of the bunker. It would take some really heavy weapons to evict the CF forces from the area now. They dug in like a texas tick, and they aren't letting go.

"Sgt Evans pull your men back to our base, CF forces are now able to support themselves and we don't want our heaviest firepower in another forces base." Orderd Major Mclean the new base commander. The whole force that was in CF's base began to pick their way out of the base to the strains of Orgy's blue monday. once out of the base the soldiers picked up speed and were back into the base in 40 minutes. The sight that greated them was awsome...a new terran colony was being constructed right in front of their eyes.
The elevators were by this time complete, and the pipeline was slowly coming into reality. The elevators were in constant motion bringing supplies for the base up and down. And High above the base the TDF guarded the base.

IC: The shuttle arrived at the nation of White Dwarf without detection, though at this point in time WD had no space defence. After much searching the ground men got their hands on enough busses and cars to please the workshops. A transport was then found, one that could bring these vehicles as close to the elevator as possible. Once they reached land it would be seen if they could make their way to the elevator.

OOC: the elevators are basically round cars that are base on a long concrete loadng platform on the ground. The 6 cars are loaded up there and then begin their ascent into space. Each car is conected to the space station by 6 long elevator lines, from the ground they look like long roped going up through the clouds. All the elevators go to a huge platform being built in space. This platform can support a crew of 40 and can dockwith 2 supply ships at a time. the actual elevators can hold 10 tonns.
And i might still have the meeting on my ship its just after being called a nOOb and having no one else in the thread has kinda dampened my spirits.
IC: Several Bulbous ships came out of the portal, skirting the communications station that was now at the edge of it the 4 ships descended onto Moutain 1 (the planet). Pulling into an orbit next to the elevator platform the ships began to disgorge rather ugly looking and large shuttles. In each shuttle were 1 ship and crew of the TDF water bourne force. The UWS 12's were the premire ships of the TDF navy with a crew of 12 these subs were deadly underwater. Soon 12 of these ships would be based at "seaside" and will be used to dominate the oceans....

More and More engineers were showing up at the bases day by day. By this point Highway 2 linking the seabase with the Mainbase was complete, as was the pipeline. Fuel production at the space elevator's upper complex was in full swing at this point due to the water constantly being sent up to it. The ACS were working on expanding the zone of control out to the Stone river and Its delta. Construction equipment followed them, creating 6 forward operating bases Alpha through Fox. These bases right along the river formed a defensive zone agains the Acursed Legion. Construction on a deep mountain base and manufactory was also begining towards the north, and several bases and defensive areas were being set up on a large archepeligo 15 Km away from the Sea base.

Arak grinned. "They go to the accumulator crystals under the Guild. There's also cable running to Khrrck City, Fort Ironscale, the Wizard's Guild, and the experimental facility in the Mage Hills. I think we've got enough magic."

Tk'akr nodded, slowly. "So when are we going to try it?"

Al’Aruth was a flood of blue and black. He was moving … somewhere, quickly. He became aware of another flood, coming towards him. It was similar to his, yet different – red and gold. He knew if they touched he would die. He tried moving differently, shying away from the canal below, but it seemed beyond him. He was not a flood, he was a torrent. Gushing over the edge of the canal, he had one fleeting moment before the red and gold flowed on top of him. One thousand pains seared him, burned him to his soul.

Al’Aruth woke. Light so bright it stung his eyes. He was blind. Slowly he became aware of his body, and instinctively felt for wounds. By all means he should have some. Where was he? He had arrived back home and … he shook his head. No one had been there. No, someone had been there, but whom? They had done something with su’oth. The Kin around him had suddenly fallen; invisible knifes slicing at them before they had time to respond. A face flashed through his head, rotted black and scarred.

“The Kin are mine!” the face had snarled “As they once were, shall they be again.”

The forgotten … it must have been. His head stung. He reached for su’oth and found himself against a shield. No, this was different. He could touch su’oth, but it was like grabbing through thin air. Where was Jahran?

Kinbrother? I am trapped, I do not know where, but I am sure it is the forgotten who has me.

Useless. The message flew around, touching nothing. It was enough to make him cry. Jahran was dead, that was the only reason that could explain his … absence. On the outside, his face remained impassive – on the inside he wept. The forgotten could turn a heart of gold to stone. The Kin were his, as surely as he had said. The universe would have never seen such an army…

Upcoming strategy
Keep about 24 marines space borne the whole time for security and for
reserves. Send the rest down to the base to protect the head of the
logistical trail. Have the Hyperion cover the shuttles and have the
rest
of the fleet, with the exception of the Trinity which is guarding the
Hyperion, stand off at a safe distance covering the off worlds.
If the accursed legion attacks the base concentrate KEW fire at them
and
strike hard with the ACS. If the position is overrun by heavy enemy
attacks or by some unknown technology or force, the ACS and the
off-worlders will abandon the base take the shuttles up to their
respective ships. The Hyperion will blast the base until it is a
smoking
crater. From there offensive operations will commence and attempts
will
be made to regain a foothold on the territory below.
If Contact is made with other forces that are not initially hostile to
either the TDF or our off world allies’ attempts should be made to ally
with these forces.
If a way to control the portals is discovered then this technology
should
be returned in a redundant manner to high command so that this area can
be
exploited or left in the case of a failure of control.
If control of the system is lost retreat to the portal and re-enter our
time/space/ dimension. Do not approach this portal if your forces are
being followed. If an overly powerful force or race was to discover
the
location of the human dimension the consequences of such an event would
be
catastrophic.

OOC: I've noticed the absence of several of the RP'ers in this thread. We have to accept that with them gone, its now going at a very slow rate. And you all seem to be just waiting, for some guy who just came from nowhere with a giant army and hasn't posted in a week. From what I've seen, he's only posted a few times.

Look, Khrrk, you can say I did the same and call us all Noobs all you want, but I'm fairly sure everyone agrees what this thread needs - and what would make it more fun and interesting - is battles. Or at least something happening besides ... waiting, allies, and building defences.

I suggest we abolish some of the RP rules in place in this thread, such as declaring others losses. As long as you don't overstep the limit - which I'm sure no one will - I see no harm in it. White Dwarf and I did it, and it worked perfectly, and ended up being a great part of the story, just go back to pages 10, 11 and 12 to check.

If anyone has a problem with what I am suggesting, by all means let me know, but otherwise, think about it.

[OOC POST]
I have problems with declaring other people's losses.

For one thing, I can never be sure I've missed some vital aspect of the forces I'm attacking.

Simplified example (they declare losses):

Me: Three of my fighters strafe your entrenched army.
Opponent: My SAM installations fire eight missiles at your fighters. Before they can do this, the strafing kills six of my soldiers.
Me: Two of the fighters are destroyed. The third gets away.

Simplified example (I declare losses):

Me: Three of my fighters strafe your entrenched army, killing 15 soldiers.
Opponent: Hey, that's not right. My SAM installations would have stopped that.
Me: SAM installations? What SAM installations?
Opponent: Here, let's start again from the beginning. Now, where were we?

Can you see the problem?

-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----

About me calling people n00bs... I think the problem is that my definition is wider than the typical definition.

From what I can tell, most people think "n00b = godmodder"

I think (or thought) something like "n00b = godmodder, someone who can't spell and use correct grammar, or a bad writer."

My definition is too broad. But I can't think of a word besides "n00b" to use for "someone who can't spell and use correct grammar, or a bad writer."

-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----

Why do I argue with you, Mutant Dogs?

Mutant Dogs, you're a good writer. I think the problem is that the way you want to write just doesn't quite fit with the way NationStates works.

That doesn't mean your writing style can't work with NS; you just have to be considerate of other people. Not everyone RPs the way you do.

I ought to take the same advice. Sometimes I need to be more considerate of other people's styles.

I just ask that you do the same.

OOC: Ok, I can take that. But those examples are exactly what I meant by overstepping the line. As long as the losses aren't extremely significant, I wouldn't see any harm in those men dying (If they were mine). Well, if you don't want to do it, I won't predict any of you're losses when and if we battle, but I am sure White Dwarf wouldn't mind...

Another One-Way Box dropped from the sky. This makes two boxes stranded down on the planet. One sitting in the waters around White Dwarf and the one that just dropped into the sea near the base. After the box made its way to the beach it was unloaded. Inside the box were four groundmen, one dragon, a warp gate and a gate platform.

"Set up a comlink, tell the other groundmen that we are ready," one man said as the small platform rolled out of the box and onto the beach, sinking into the sand.
"Hand me the translator," anther said as he reached into a crate, "Dragon, we are heading to our base, If you don't mind, please come with us. Once at the base we can help find your companions"
"I have the comlink set up. Lets see. Ground base, this is drop box, we are bringing the gate to you now, get the power source ready."

---

At ground base the message was received,
"Ground base, this is drop box, we are bringing the gate to you now, get the power source ready."
"Drop box this is ground base, we are ready," after the message was sent the man turned around, "Ok men, hit the power switch, the gate is coming," the man turned to face the vehicles that had finally arrived, "Lets get those things to the offworld".

OOC: The drop box, A.K.A, the one-way box. This is what I use to get massive loads down to the planet, also it saves me having to use a shuttle. The boxes just fall from the sky, which means they can only land in water, (Or anything that could save it). It just looks like a big container. Its just over 20 feet high, 40 feet long and 10 feet wide. Which makes one big box :). It uses 4 huge parachutes to help slow it down a bit before it hits the ground or shallow water. (There that sounds better :). If not then dang)

"Stow it private! We are going to patrol this area, and we aren't going to do it with your complaining! Do I make myself clear!?" Sargent Banks yelled in that voice unique to Sargents the world over.

"Yes Si...Wait a second! What was that?" Dobbes heard the unmistakable sound of motion off to the left.

The squad of twelve men peered through the swamp and saw them. They were dressed in old, almost knightly clothes and armor, and they carried swords and other such primitive weapons. Sargent Banks leveled his monsterous XM-1 autocannon, loaded the high explosive ammunition, and prepared to fire.

The assorted Privates and Corporals leveled their XM-9 flechette rifles and XLw-117 Laser assault rifles and took aim. They just waited for something to happen, like the enemy patrol discovering them or something...

OOC: I'm just guessing about it Krrck. I'm not very good at measurements :D. The gate isn't big though and either is the platform, I just thought about how high 12 feet would be. Ok after much thinking I have an idea. Lets make the boxes, 20' high, 40' long and 10' wide. That should be better. So it looks like a container. I'll go back and change that post :)

IC: "Look up ahead, there they are," One man said as he walked ahead of the group.
Behind him came two men, one dragon and another man driving a platform carrying a gate down a dirt road.
"Looks like you made it" One of the ground men from the base said as he greeted the crew, "So you found a dragon,"
"Yeah, he was on the offworld, don't know how he got there,"
"Don't worry, just bring the gate over and we'll hook it up,"
so with that the platform was brought over. The middle part began to rise, bringing the gate up with it. The platform was the reversed so that the gate could be held in place. The supports where then put in place around the gate,
"Ok, let the gate go," one man said as the platform descended and left the gate behind,
"Great, now start the power up,"
"Power up" one of the men at the control panel replied,
The control panel was a crescent moon shaped desk with three laptops on it.
"Gate full power in 30 minutes,"
"Great now we wait."

OOC: So this is my little base, it is a small fort, outlined by a concrete wall with towers located at the corners. In the middle is the gate and near one of the corners is the desk. Ak'mar looked around the interior of the small fort. "Not enough room for a takeoff..." he muttered. "I'll have to go vertical. Stand back."

Ak'mar walked out into the center of the fort, tapping Air as he did so.
He crouched, weaving Air into a booster spell. It wouldn't get him off the ground by itself, but it would help him get into the air.

Strands of yellow light crackled over his scales.

With a mighty heave, Ak'mar leaped vertically into the air. As he passed the forty-foot mark, his wings snapped out and he began circling upward, a dark blue shape against a light blue sky.

In times of absolute emergency, a full Council of dragons can power it and send a distress call. A summons, of sorts, to all the children of the First Dragon. Any shape, any size, any color; they are dragons, and will hear the call. Only a few will come, but hopefully that few will be all we need."

[OOC: I'm about to dump several gigathaums of magic into the ether; an action that could probably be detected by mages across the entire globe. Just so you know.]

Arak called out from the platform. "We're starting... NOW!"

Sk'mak braced himself. Magic crackled through him, burning white-hot trails across his mind's eye, pouring into the Fang...

Nothing.

"All that for this?" asked Tk'akr incredulously, eyeing the Fang. "Nothing's happ-"

The Fang exploded. A wave of magic caught Sk'mak full in the face as every light in the place went out. The last thing he heard before passing out was a ringing, etherial tone...

*************************************************

Kemandorel braced himself. The driller worms were almost at the enterance to his cavern. He lengthened his fangs and claws and prepared for a futile attempt at defense...

A whirlwind of sensations struck him. A call; an offer of transport by some unimaginable means to somewhere.

Anything is better than this. Keman accepted it.

*************************************************
The scene was replayed countless times on countless worlds. Most of the time, the dragons rejected the call. But sometimes...

*************************************************

Blackfang woke, abruptly. What is it?
He reached out with his mind, probing, searching. Amazing...
Well, I'm never one to pass up an adventure. Blackfang accepted it.

*************************************************

The call hit Ak'mar unexpectedly, with enough force to stun. His wings snapped out and locked, keeping him in the air for a moment while he recovered his wits. What was that?

He searched for a moment, but it was gone. Strange...

Ak'mar continued his flight towards the party of men in green armor.

*************************************************

Linden Rathan heard the call, faintly, on the edge of his mind, and dismissed it as some adventurous Dragonlord messing around with magic.

*************************************************

Morkeleb the Black woke, listened for a moment, then went back to sleep.

*************************************************

The First heard it, but She was busy elsewhere.

*************************************************

Sk'mak woke to the unpleasant sensation of someone biting him on the tail. "Wh... wha... what happened? Did it work?"

"You bet it did." replied a unfamiliar voice, with a strange accent.

Sk'mak looked around. Or tried to; it was pitch black. "I can't see."
"Just a moment." replied the voice. A spark of actinic white light lit up above Sk'mak's head, illuminating the area.

Sk'mak looked up. Four... no, he was seeing double. Two scaled, draconic heads.
In the background, he could hear scales clinking and rustling. "Who are you?"

The first dragon, his scales a metallic blue washed with green, smiled. "I'm Kemandorel. But you can call me Keman. You pulled me out of a nasty situation back there. Thank you."

"I'm Blackfang. Enough said." The black dragon was concise. "The power should be back on in a moment." As he spoke, the lights flickered and came on.

*************************************************

Sk'mak heaved himself to his feet and looked around.

He looked again, and counted. Twenty-eight... not counting me or Tk'akr.

"A beautiful sight, isn't it?" commented Arak, from beside him.

Sk'mak looked down. "It is, it is. How long have I been out?"

"About ten minutes."
Keman spoke from behind Sk'mak. "Arak's been explaining things to us. I think I know what I can do to help you. I have a certain unique talent."

Sk'mak looked over the rather unremarkable dragon. There was something subtly wrong about him, but that was no suprise. He was a different species, probably. "What is it?"

Blackfang grinned. "Show 'im, Keman."

Keman wavered and blurred, as if Sk'mak was watching him through water. It was vaguely unsettling to watch, and Sk'mak closed his eyes for a moment. When he re-opened them, Keman was nowhere to be seen.

A Wyrm with dark green scales grinned at him from the floor. "Down here, Sk'mak."

IC: After what seemed an eternity, the engines of the Atlas finally seemed to be winning against inertia, pulling the bow out of the sand at what had been the highest tide of season so far. The great ship slowly pulled from into the calm waters of the ocean around it, the water around the bow muddy as the sand was washed off by the ships now suprisingly quick movement.

Bow thrusters and rudders engaged, and the ship slowly turned to port. Cranking up her engines another notch, the vessel started into a surprisingly quick sprint up the coast. Across nearby radio waves and other communication lines, a call for help went out.
White Dwarf
29-04-2004, 13:36
IC: All the men braced themselves as the dragon took off. After the dragon had left a sound rose, it was a beeping sound,
"Gate is at full power, widening gate," as the man said that the two cranes, both holding up a part of the top part of the gate each, began to ascend. The platform also split into two taking one half of the bottom of the gate one way and another the other way. The gate was now at maximum size.
"Ok men, start the trucks up, I’m sending you to the workshops of Offworld 6 and 8,"
With that the gate turned on. The four pieces began to produce electric bolts. As the power input grew the bolts from the four parts of the gate began to attract each other, bolts flying back and forth,
"2nd power wave commence," said one of the three men sitting at the desk as the electric bolts strengthened and began to form energy streams going around the inside of the gate,
"3rd power wave commencing,"
"Offworld 6 gate ready, ready to launch"
"Gate portal launching,"
At last the energy waves flowing around the inside of the gate joined and began to synchronize forming a portal,
"Energy stable, portal is now open,"
"Ok, everyone going to Offworld 6 go now,"
So with that the first lot of vehicles went through, bolts of electricity reaching out to the vehicles as they came close. After everyone got through the gate cooled down and power was sought out for the next jump.

OOC: My favourite invention, the jump gate. When the gate is all together it is very small, 6 feet in diameter, however once it is placed in a gate holding bay two cranes are connected to the top, one for each of the top pieces. The bottom two are placed on the moving platform, one side each. When a gate is ready the cranes lift the top pieces into the sky and the platforms move apart, which allows a bigger portal to be made. The gates in space are much bigger but use the same basics, they separate and come closer depending on what is going through the gate. Some offworlds carry gates, most don't. This is because gates take massive amounts of power to operate and so Offworlds only use gates when its of grate importants.

After the drivers got to the Offworlds they were taken somewhere to rest. These small gates are still in the design and only three have been made. Unlike the bigger gates which have few flaws these ones have many. Since they are small their energy output area is also small so more energy is pumped through, and if living creatures go through they are stripped of their energy leaving them tired and can hardly move, but nothing a good sleep can't fix.
After the drivers were gone the vehicles where stripped and armoured up, windows being thickened and armour being strengthened. Guns where installed, one gattler placed on the back of the Utes and 2 in the busses. The sides of the busses where taken down so that new sides with sliding doors could be attached, this aloud two guns to face out each side and the back had a door put on so that troopers could jump out quickly.

OOC: Are these normal arrows, or they enhanced by magical energy in some way?

IC:

An arrow hit the Sargent's Faceplate and to his surprise, penetrated it. Just centimeters away from his head the arrow ground to a halt, caught up in the self-sealing faceplate. "So if that's the way you want to play..." he thought to himself and pulled the trigger on his autocannon. Wave after wave of .50 caliber explosive shells launched out towards the Accursed Legionaires. These shells were soon joined by deadly accurate Flechettes from the Corporals and Lance Corporals, while the rank and file privates added beams of Azure laserfire to the wave of death heading for the Legionaires.

The Sarge's gun clicked and the ammuntion drum popped out- empty. He quickly grabbed another HE magazine from his belt and loaded it in. But before he resumed firing, he reached back down to his belt again and pulled out an incendiary grenade (sets fires) and tossed it towards what looked like the enemy commander (the mage.)

OOC: Magic enhanced. They fly in a straight line until they hit something (or the spell runs out), they penetrate things most arrows would bounce off of or shatter against, and when they hit something they cause... problems. What exactly these problems are varies; think in terms of poison, green lightning, and similar effects. Nothing that will effect more than one person, though.
IC:
The Legionaires fell like wheat before the reaper, though most archers managed two or three shots and several (3-6) swordsmen reached the enemy. Their armor was good, but it couldn't hope to match the weapons of their opponents.
The exception was Khal-vrin, the Accursed Sorceror. His shield of magical energy was rapidly thinning, but he hadn't been subject to the brunt of the counter attack, and his protection could take a lot of punishment before it gave out. Seeing one of the enemy- the one who had been doing the talking- throw an unknown (but clearly dangerous) object toward him, Khal-vrin knocked it back toward the Sergeant with a telekinetic spell. He then dropped a small green stone on the ground and fled.

But the rest of the troops, especially the noncoms didn't enjoy seeing their men killed like that. They turned and fired upon the enemy commander, hoping to disorient the remaining enemies.

Meanwhile, the Sarge was very surprised to see his grenade flying back towards him. "Shit!" he yelled as the 'nade exploded around his feet, setting everything around, including him ablaze.

The IGS Soldiers were at first startled by the sudden exhange of fire betwen the CF men and the AL. But they soon reacted, moving up to help the CF. Byt now the entire patrol was en route to the fight. When the lead elements got close to the battle the launched 4 "storm" ap mortar rounds. The his on target 6 seconds later just as the whole force showed up and began to fire, in what can be equated as a avalanche of fire, all 6 suits opened up with their grenade launchers, rail guns, and 2 plasma cannons. Most rounds bounced off trees and made splashs in the muddy water in some places the plasma boiled the water making the swamp a suddendly very steamy place. The troopers had to switch to IR mode and serch for targets that way. The inatial barrage was wild and succeded in hitting only 2 archers. Noone in the patrol knew of a commander of the enemy forces, they just knew that there were enemies in front of them.
Meanwhile back at the base.
The main base was now dug into a 200 foot diamiter crater with a 20 foot tall ring wall. The defense were now complimented with metalstorm batteries, and storm direct fire ultra heavy repeater. several quad plasma cannons are also being employed. Any nations whishing to use the elevators for trade transport are more then welcome to.

Ak'mar hovered high above the battle, watching as the mage blocked a small metal object with a expert twist of magic and ran.

He scanned the mage with a trickle of Air, and recoiled from the almost physical stench of evil surrounding him. This man does not deserve to live.
Ak'mar folded his wings and plummeted towards the fleeing mage.

After the introductions, Arak explained the situation at length. "...So, you see-"

A small, silver dragon, who could have passed as a Chinese dragon were it not for the wings folded flat against his snake-like body, interrupted Arak. "It's stuffy in here. This place needs some skylights."

The roof shimmered, and two skylights opened at either end of the hall.

Arak stared. "W-w-what did you do? You can't open skylights here; there's too many caverns in the way, and we're too deep for them to..."
He spluttered to a stop and stared at the skylights. "Ahh... A portal? To the surface?"

The silver dragon nodded, and Arak grinned. "You're just what we need... Keman, come over here."

Back down on the motherland the gate widened and a portal opened. Out of the portal came all the vehicles, 4 busses and 10 Utes. After they came out the vehicles were stopped and the men were taken somewhere to rest.
"Ok, lets move these vehicles, line them up and give them a check, I want them at maximum efficiency, if we go into a war we need to be top notch."
The groundmen went to work on the vehicles, refuelling, repairing, anything that needed to be done.

In Sgt Vox's helmet his sensors screemed a warning as a massive object fell quickly to earth. He immidiatly datapulsed that info to anyone in the squad who hadn't picked up the falling object. The patrol's two plasma gunner swung their weapons skyward and opened up. 3 plasma cannisters shot up 200 feet right into the path of the falling object and detonated spreading lightning hot washs of plasma into the air. The rest of the squad continued to fire their weapons from cover. Neon bright flashs of light flashed amongst the trees as a hail of fire swept out. More patrols around the main base and water pipeline were notifyed of the ongoing battle and began to reroute themselves to the area. The plan was now to regroup right along the river and head back to the main base. Sgt Vox however had to hold his men in posistion for long enough. He got 4 of his men together and had the plasma cannoneers cover them as they charged out into the marshy ground in front of them Forarm blades drawn...

General stood watching as his small army continued. As he watched something called out to him. He could feel the Kin on his shoulders. He looked around, the feeling was coming from the disc he was given. As he approached it he could feel the Kin stronger than before,
"The Kin have returned," General said as he reached for the disc.
Once he got the disc in his hands he broke it into two pieces, and a vertical white slash of light appeared between them, hovering and growing until it stood about seven feet tall.
"Welcome back, Kin," he muttered

Al'Aruth watched the light grow, warily. Something flashed in his head, a compressed ball of emotions, and for a fleeting moment he thought it was his bond to Jahran. He soon realised he was mistaken. One who cannot touch su'oth, he thought bitterly. When the portal - which he now recognised - stood a span above his head, he stepped through. His shield of a sort flickered and vanished, and in relief he flooded himself with su'oth. He looked around and found a tall, lean, dark-skinned man whom he recognised as General A...

De'Mara maintained a face of stone. In his mind he raged. The Kin had been on the move for days. The Forgotten had done something. Even now his sense of su'oth was distorted, twisted in some way. Creating a portal to escape was beyond him. His abilities were limited to cleansing some of the wearied wounds which had appeared on many of the Kin. Only the strongest had survived. Three had had to be left behind; too slow to keep up. He hoped that somehow they had survived, but he strongly doubted it. The Forgotten had promised their powers returned once they made their return through the great portals. He cared little for such things anymore, besides what revenge he could extract with them. He would make Al'Aruth pay for what he had done. He Who has Failed Us, as he was now known. Whatever happened he promised himself that. Al'Aruth would know pain beyond memory...

OOC: Thanks. I don't have much time, so I'll have to make this quick.

IC: The arrows actually penetrated the hardened armor of some of the troops, specifically two of the privates. No matter, they were just privates anyway.

Khal-vrin snarled a curse as enemy fire blasted into his remaining shielding. He sent a wave of fire roaring toward the CF solldiers and fired a cloud of iron spikes (6-8 inches in length; about a dozen) through it, then dove for cover. Barely enough of his armor remained to protect him from a thrown stone.
The surviving Legionaires, three swordsmen and an archer, ignored their commanders plight; the power that controlled them had litlle interest in their survival. The swords left trails of green sparks when they were swung.
ooc: Ordinary steel would be about as effective against those swords as butter, so they can probably manage to get through even your armor, but (of course) I'm not going to post that, as it would be stating your damages.
Summer vacation is coming up soon, and I probably won't be able to post then.

Al'Aruth made a smile that didn't quite reach his eyes.

"Good," he said "You have done well, general. Bring me up to date on events of the last month. Are there any ... problems ... which need sorting out?"

Things had to happen, and they had to happen fast if he was to have a chance of surviving the last battle...

Mathimar pushed the Kin harder. He could use only the strongest. They called him the Forgotten now, although he had been the leader of the Kin once. He had reverred in the light. He had led the final forces at Kirun Mar. Now things were different. He had a task and he was set on achieving, and anything that got in his way would meet and unpleasent demise. He laughed softly...

This portal started as a shimmering ball of light which slowly grew until it stood about the size of a bowl. Once you touched it, the light grew until you could see nothing else. Then, slowly the colours of where the portal led to faded in.

He had been promoted to storm leader, by the Forgotten, and could already name twelve Kin who were loyal only to him. Oh it had not been easy, or neccesarily pleasant, but it had to be done. He would show Al'Aruth.

"Where are we going?" he asked

The Forgotten licked his lips eagerly.

"We return to the offworlds, where you once did battle. If you do not require power immediately, kill, and don't stop killing until all the men are either dead or broken," he paused, and then said "You may touch su'oth."

Out of instinct, De'Mara grabbed at su'oth creating a simply weave and forcing more power into it, till he could draw no more.

Another portal opened to the offworlds and De'Mara led the first of the Kin through, to the second returning...

Concentrating, he engulfed part of the offworlds in fire. It flickered out almost instantly, and he cursed himself. At that speed, it would do little more than send a shock of heat and blind a few men.

Al'Aruth stepped onto the nightmare that was the offworlds. Fire streaked past his head, and he brought up a shield instantly. He had no time for fighting.

Mathimar watched as the guns on the ships suddenly went out of control, a few stray bullets taking one of the Kin.

He needn't worry. One of his strengths had always been the ability to remain composure during a battle. For even the greatest of plans needed a leader who was able to think on the spot.

Most people - including that fool Al'Aruth - didn't know that life remains in a body hours after their seeming death. It was all a matter of ... finding that spark of life and working from there. He had been one of the best at that.

Mathimar had always believed he was meant for something great. Even at a young age, his talents had caused uproar among the Kin. Most people believed his discoveries of su'oth were disgusting. Attrocities they had called them. He had been shunned out of society, forced to flee the Kin. They had destroyed all records of him and his achievements. Bannished and cursed his memory. The had called him the Forgotten.

Blinking, he continued down towards the mainland. The Kin's powers weren't limited to physical attacks.

Between then and the next few hours, his memory went blank. Something that had happened more than a few times since Al'Aruth's burst of su'oth the last time he had been on the offworlds.

He suddenly found himself in front of a man who after a few seconds of holding together, he knew must be their leader. His memories came back slowly. Painfully.

"You will tell your men to attack the Kin on sight," was all he said

The man would obey. It was as simple as that, with his powers.

Outside, anyone who was looking would see Kin. Everywhere. Of course they were just images in their minds, but oh the trouble they would cause themselves with their guns...

As one of the men fired at a Kin in the distance another Kin appeared next to him. He turned and fired at it, after he had let go more than 25 bullets he noticed that the kin was unharmed, In fact the bullets went through the kin and killed another WD soldier,
"Guys, stop firing. These are fake"
His call was helpless, a few heard it but others continued to fire.

"Dam trees, can't see a thing," The only man on guard was sitting in the closest tower to they current battle. He had been looking through his binoculars all day, trying to get a view of the battlefield,
"Hay what’s that," he thought as he looked up into the air, "Men, the dragon has returned" he shouted down to the other groundmen.
As he looked back at the front of the base he saw a man coming, he was covered in mud, "Watch out men, stranger coming from the battle, don't shoot unless he does,"
"Right" shouted back one of the men as he ran to great the stranger.

---

"General, bad news sir" came a voice over the General port com
"Yes what is it" The General replied
"The Kin have multiplied, there a thousands of them,"
"Ok, send out the men, I want every entrance to this offworld covered, no kin are getting in"
"Yes sir"

---

"There’s more of them now" One of the shuttle drivers pointed out,
"Split up, orbit the offworld, kill all the kin"
With that the shuttles scattered. In even spacing they began to orbit around the offworld firing at every kin.

Andres was in his quarters, finishing packing everything he would need. As he closed his bag he heard something, the faint sound of gattling guns. He rushed out of his room and down the hall to the dock. Outside he could see five gun shuttles fighting the kin,

De'mara grabbed hold of the rail gun, using as much su'oth as he could draw, and shook it till it began falling apart. He noticed something, in the corner of his eye. A flash of green light, which as he turned, seemed to melt from his memory. Had it even been there? Could it be his imagination playing tricks on him?

Al'Aruth had always made a green light when he drew su'oth - to give warning to those around him.

Suddenly, he was in front him him, arms raised.

With a cry, De'mara opened a portal and jumped through. As he was closing it, the light suddenly stopped and began growing again.

Cursing, he opened another portal back to the offworlds, closing it, creating another and closing it again.

He found himself standing on a bridge. The air shimmered and Al'Aruth stepped out of nowhere.

"What hand is attacking your base," the Kin hissed, "Not mine. You are a fool if you think I had them attack you. It is not too late. If you listen to me now I can still save your men, and I swear by oath I will not let them take the offworlds..."
Andres stared hard into the creature’s eyes, there was no lie in them,
"Very well," the Minister replied as he ripped the Kins hand off his throat and threw down his gun, "Drop your weapons everyone ... We have a new ally,"
At that everyone in the crowd that had a gun dropped it,
"First you attack us, take our General and now you want to help us," Andres said as he walked to the main board of the bridge, "You Kin are strange, but maybe we can be allies," he paused, "First, where is Lesley, our General"

---

The men on the planet could feel their minds getting twisted, friends and allies became Kin, no one was there to help for each man was now an enemy, within minutes the convoy of technicals was no more

---

"Weird weather" one of the men back at the base said as he started a conversation,
"Yeah, first heat now snow, looks like those creatures are back,"
"What should we do,"
"Pray that our men are ok, the forest is to thick to see them so we have to rely on faith"
"Gentlemen, back on your feet," the commanding groundman said, "An explosion just came out of the forest, I want everyone at their posts and all 5 gattling guns operational in 20 minutes,"
The groundmen scattered, climbing towers and manning the gates.
"Offworld 6, this is Motherland Encampment, we believe the technicals have been destroyed, Kin is thought to be in the area, request reinforcements"

"Your general is gathering your men into a den'shi, which is a place outside of time and matter itself. There they will be safe and ready to be called upon when needed. If we are to fight the Kin we need some sort of plan. I believe I can regain control of some of the Kin. To do that, I need you to call off your defence and get your men through this portal."

That small glow of light appeared.

"Go now. I will meet you soon. Be ready to fight."

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

The Kin attacking the offworlds approached steadily, shields of defence and illusion ready. If they moved slow enough they wouldn't be seen until it was too late.

Eventually they found themselves on the giant structure. Shields of illusion vanished and all hell was let loose.

"Right," Andres said as he reached for a comlink, "All Offworld Personal, come back to the bridge fast, bring your weapons and don't stop,"

---

After a little while the Offworld was deserted except for the people on the bridge,
"Ok everyone, into the portal," Andres told the crowd as he leaped into the portal. After him the rest of the men followed.
After everyone left the comlink lit up,

One of Al'Aruth's strengths was the ability to block out all form of su'oth within a certain radius. Others could manage the trick but performed it in a different way. The way he created the shield relied on the strength of him, only in how far it could be extended. Whoever was inside the radius would be blocked no matter their strength.

He kept as still as he could, fully aware of the Kin moving around him. He had to place the block slowly, if he hoped to go without notice.

Suddenly, shields flickered and vanished and Kin stepped out of nowhere. About eighty of them.

Fires and air smashed parts of the offworlds, in a mad frenzy - Kin lashing out with all the power they could draw.

He was knocked off his feet in a rush of wind and heat, and his carefully developed block slipped into place. The chaos ended as aprubtly as it had started.

"Who is loyal to me?" he shouted, not having the advantage of su'oth to magnify his voice "Who will stand by me to the end of the final battle, as you all swore to long years ago?"

His voice echoed and skittered along the place. Angry murmurs and shouts of protest rose. Shouts of "Betrayer" and "Oathbreaker" and various other insults.

"Who has broken their oaths?" he yelled "I have not ... I have not."

The block winked out.

Almost instantly he embraced su'oth and knew others were doing so. Fire flew at him, halted at the last second by wind and water. Not his.

Kin stepped towards him, others stood against him. Two brave men who he remembered training, stood shoulder to shoulder with him, ready to fight till the end. Others joined them.

Thankfully, no one was foolish enough to start an attack there and then. They would come, eventually, but now was not the time.

When about half the Kin stood with him, he raised his voice again.

"Leave this place," was all he said

Slowly, one by one, portals were opened and Kin stepped through.

When they had all gone, Al'Aruth gathered his men and brought them inside the offworlds, resignedly. What terrors the Kin who had not followed him were up to, was nothing he could fix.

He had made a promise to defend the offworlds and he intended to keep it.

The men on the mainland kept their weapons close. Four towers at each corner were maned by one man each, each tower with a gattling cannon. At the four entrances stood two men per entrance, positioned at the entrances was another Gattling cannon per entrance. Altogether that made 12 men and 8 gattling cannons, the other 5 men were manning the gate, keeping it operational,
"Keep your eyes open," one man said, "The Kin could be anywhere."

Mathimar watched the tower carefully. Foolish men. Did they not realise that if this tower could be taken over, it had the potential to use its gun anywhere where it intended to protect?

Hovering slowly, shield raised, he created a strong wall of air over the gun. He entered the man's mind, destroying everything but the need to aim and fire that gun at the tower opposite.

Laughing madly, he flew out of the way as it started firing...

The gunner could fell his mind falling apart, he felt like he was dying, he lost everything except the knowledge of aim and shoot, he didn't know he was alive, he had no memory and had no idea of what was going to happen, soon he had the gun aimed at another tower and fired,
"Wha.." Was all the other gunner got out of his mouth before he was shot down,
"What the hell," One of the other tower men yelled as he witnessed the slaughter of the other man,
"Must be a trick, what should we do,"
The commanding groundman thought, "I don't know, is it right to kill him," the man began to yell, "Abandon the towers, run for cover,"
The commander ran for the tower, "You men come with men, get under the tower fast, climb up and capture that man," commanded the groundman as he jumped for the ladder.

Mathimar watched panic erupt under the towers. He kept his shields held firmly, and moved over to another tower.

Throwing as much su'oth as he could, he swept firey winds around the bottom of the structure.

Slowly, it began to tilt and then came lunging down towards the base...

"I want to talk to him."
Keman took a step forward and looked up at Ak'mar. "Ak'mar?" he shouted, in the language of the dragons. "I've come to get you back to Sk'mak and-"

All hell broke loose.

Keman winced as one of the towers opened fire on another tower. "Ak'mar! We've got to get out of here! Follow me!"

Keman-

-expanded, his form firming down-

The blue-green dragon launched itself into the air, Ak'mar's navy-blue form a split second behind.

Scree peeked around the doorframe and jerked her head back quickly. "There's Kin on the bridge." she whispered to Romduran.

Romduran took a deep breath. "I'll take care of them." he muttered.

The men climbing the tower watched as one of the other towers fell and filled one of the entrances with a pile of steel poles. As the men reached the top of the tower they grabbed the man, his grasp on the gun taking a lot of work to undo. Looking into his ey the men could see nothing, all the colour and light was gone,
"He's dead,"
"No, he still has a pulse, the Kin must have done something to him," one man replied as he began to lift the man up, "Lets take him underground and see what we can do."
After they got the man out of the tower the group of men headed for a tunnel just outside the base that took them to a bunker.

"Commander, the gate is full charged, Should we fire it up"
"No," the Commander of Offworld Outpost replied, "I want to do another run over before I use it, this took to long to create to fail now"

On my Offworld me and half the kin have joined up to fight the other half of the kin. (good kin bad kin) All my other forces are waiting inside one of the portals. And on the other side of the world one of my Millitary Offworlds are working on making portals to the future.

But i'm lost with Krrck

The gate started to produce bolts of electricity. These bolts flew from one side of the ring to the other. After a few seconds inside the ring only electricity could be seen, flying from side to side.
"Gate is at full power,"
"Full power confirmed, firing 1st wave"
With that the electricity got blasted with wave after wave of high-powered energy,
"Ring is powering, portal opening,"
"2nd wave launched,"
"Extending portal"
"Preparing 3rd wave,"
By now the ring was at full power and began firing out everything it picked up from the other end,
"Commander, it worked," said one man as a huge object came out of the gate, "We managed to pick up the Armageddon cannon,"
"Excellent, tell the people onboard what happened," the commander told the men, "then send out a gate crew, lets find some ammunition,"

OOC: The Armageddon is a space cannon, but instead of launching beams it drops rocks like the ones found in the asteroid belt.

"Yes Minister"
