President Sutton addresses the international community from the Presidential Office in the Presidential Palace.

"After years of anarchy and oppression by drug and war lords, Credonia has found the resolve to liberate these people and instill within that nation a democratic government. The United States, with the backing of the international community failed to liberate these people from the clutches of the evil drug and war lords and provide adequate amounts of humanitarian aid in 1993. It is for this reason that Credonia will go into this nation of anarchy and bring peace and order to this nation. Credonia will bring to justice those individuals responsible for the genocide that took place between 1992 and 1993. We will bring law and order to this nation in turmoil and we will ensure the development of the Somolian people."

Following President Sutton's speech, he ordered the mobilization of the following military forces:

Ground Forces
1st Army Infantry Division
25,000 General infantry troops
2,000 Military police troops

Lusaka is far less trusting of this unexpected intervention. The United African Republic insists that imperialism is no longer tollerated on the continent, and that this operation must not turn to heavy-handedness nor to exploitation, be that of human liberties, natural resources, or strategic military location.

Know that Africa is watching as you go.

On the Presidents orders, 10 tons of perishable food items have been sent on their way to Somolia to drop these items to the people. Along with the limited humanitarian aid are pamplets telling the people to rise up against the war lords and fight for their freedom and that Credonian forces are on their way to help. Almost simultaneously, Credonian U-2S spy planes and Predator UAV's take to the skies to photograph targets marked for missile attack or raids to be carried out once Credonian troops arrive in the country. Most of the targets marked for surveillance are said to be offices and places of residence for some of the key war lords that are considered the most powerful in the region.

Credonian military forces are still mobilizing and will be ready to depart in 1 NS day (3 RL hours)

To prove that Credonia's actions are not similar to what took place in the Falkland Islands just recently, President Sutton has petitioned the international community for support to help ease the situation in Somolia. Any and all types of humanitarian aid and relief from peacekeeping forces to food and water, medicines, clothing, etc. are requested. Sources indicate that a reconstruction plan will be released to the international community for its approval to be implimented, in a few days (RL). More news on the situation to come. Stay tuned.

The Dominion of Talkos requests that Credonia show some continuity in their policies. Though there is some difference between Somalia and the Falklands, does Credonia not think it hypocritical to send such forces into a nation when they so recently conflicted against a nation sending such forces into a nation. And unlike the Falkland Islands situation, Credonia has made no claims that a democratic government will be established upon the establishment of safety. The Dominion would like to ensure such democratic elections by assisting in the.....liberation... of the Somalian people.

We are going to send one of our Carrier battlegroups from the Falklands area to moniter the situation, where it will meet up with troop and supply ships, bringing its marine complement up to 12,000(including medics), along with 50 M1A1 tanks, 100 Strykers and 100 Armed Humvees. THe credonian government told the world not even an hour ago its plans towards somolia. We requested international assistance, PLUS we said we would submit a plan to the international community on the rebuilding of that nation. How is that even remotly similar to the situation in the falklands where you just barged in and took over like it was nothing?

The lieutenant walked up the steps and knocked on the wooden door. A large voice boomed from the inside and he stepped inside.
"Sir, these da*n workers keep trying to steal the cocaine from us. Today alone we caught four people and I'm confident taht there are more that are doing the same things," he complained.

"Fine," the man said as he turned to face the lieutenant. "Kill them. Kill all four of them and then," there was a pause, "kill their families just to warn whoever else is stealing from us. I dont want this to happen again."

The lieutenant walked out of the cabin and hopped into the jeep and ordered the driver to start driving toward the factory where the cocaine was being produced. Halfway there, the jeep had to pause because pedestrians were crossing the street. "I am SICK of this crap," the lieutenant screamed as he grabbed his AK (which he seemed to always have on him) and jumped out of the jeep.

"YOU," he screamed to the nearest pedestrian, "get out of the way!" The pedestrian, seeing the lieutenant's AK ran accross the street. The lieutenant followed and once the person was off the road, he opened fire. Five bodies hit the ground never to move again while four others laid there screaming. The lieutenant stepped back into the jeep and they continued unstopped till they reached the factory where four armed guards stopped them to check who they were but they were quick to continue.

When the jeep came to the front of the factory, the lieutenant exited the jeep and walked over to where he had soldiers holding down the four caught stealing. He called the staff of the factory around and gave the little speech he had been preparing since he had left the cabin. "We cannot afford to lose any of the cocaine produced here and as it appears, some of you are stealing from us. These four were caught stealing this morning, but they are fortunate we have granted them mercy." He motioned to one of the soldiers to let one of them go. Once released the man was soon on his knees thanking him but the lieutenant was quick to pull his AK to his side and he shot the man. "I dont care what you did, I dont care what family you have, I will still kill you. He is just lucky he did not have to see the boss personally. If anyone else is caught stealing, this will be your fate." He pointed at the other three victims who were already dead. The workers went back to work shaken but not crying.

The lieutenant boarded the same jeep as before and headed off to the nearby village where the families of the four who were caught stealing lived. He was quick to kill them too. With ninety men working at this one factory alone, one hundred thosand soldiers working under him and thousands more living nearby, he was not worried about these few people. "A couple more tallies to add to the wall," he mumbled to himself as he got back in the jeep. He could remember when that wall at home wasnt white with chalk tallies but that was a long time ago and now there was even more white chalk to be added to that wall.

(ooc:They've already got a nation with a Somali-based name! It looks like this is happening in Somalia. Plus of the other examples you gave, straight away Burkina Faso comes to mind as a nation already existing on NS, and on good terms with Lusaka. They don't need any help. What I mean is that any nation you pick will be claimed by someone, so there's not much point changing from one to another. It's just a different Somalia, I suppose.)

Lusakans continue to absorb limited news reports on the situation in the Horn, frustrated at their inability to become involved- the imperialist annexation of Lusaka/Commonwealth border territories ensures a lack of Lusakan deployment elsewhere.

New Lusaka City worries that serious foreign military involvement in Somalia may simply displace that nation's problems, and President Igomo fears the destabilisation of Lusaka's Kenyan neighbour.

All that the United African Republic may do is wait and pray for a quick end to its present crisis.

President Sutton addresses the nation on his plans on the situation in Somalia.

"My fellow Credonians, you are all aware of my plans to liberate the people in the nation of Somalia. Intelligence sources state that terrorists opposed to the liberation are deliberating with local drug and war lords to attempt to ris up against international forces when they enter into the country. For this reason, i am committed to getting rid of the terrorists in the region. Occupation of the country will be longer than originally anticipated, however, i believe it is necessary to bringing peace and stability to the region. We ask for additional support from other nations to help combat terrorism, and we also request support from our allies of the International Allied Defense Federation (IADF) to help us keep this region terror free (even if it means going into neighboring nations to attack the terrorists). This incident shall be Credonia's first true action in it's war against terror. Since the Sutton administration took office in 2003, It has been the Credonia's foreign policy to assist nations in need and combat worldwide terror, and we will stick to our resolve by going into Somalia to carry out our peacekeeping mission. We will not stop until the Somalian people are self governing and do not have to worry about terrorists. To the Somalian people, help is on the way. We are coming to help you."

Following his brief address to the nation, President Sutton gives the order to send Credonian forces in to Somalia. The 25th Carrier Division has already token up a position 10 nautical miles from the Somalian coast and are awaiting orders to perform the first strikes upon enemy targets.

Credonia Airforces had no problem taking over the Mogadishu Airport to set up a central command and control center with the presence of the 1st Army Infantry Division. A group of 30 soldiers went into town as scouts to get the scope of what people have gone through. The following pictures were taken by Credonian military forces:

http://www.aspfreeserver.com/roster/credonia/somalia/findings.jpg

Credonian military and political leaders were shocked and disgusted at some of the more graphis pictures taken that have not been shown here. Military officials urge the international community to step in and help put an end to this madness. The people are in need of our help and it is our duty to give them the help they need to survive, for they cannot do it without us.

Lusaka warns potentially hasty westerners that Somalia does not present a unified entity. Unless recent peace-talks in Kenya have very much altered the situation since Lusaka last made an in depth observation of the situation in the Horn, several regions have declared independence.

The Republic of Somaliland was, last that New Lusaka City knew, dominated by a powerful clan benefiting from US, UK, and Russian military aid programmes prior to the region's present anarchic state. Puntland too declares itself autonomous, disputes Somaliland's borders, and appeared likely to attempt democratic reforms, and does not intend to remain indepentent from Somalia once order may be restored.

It is difficult to see how the clans, especially in Somaliland, will be convinced to lay down their arms, for they now consider themselves apart from Somalia, and will likely view Credonia's efforts as an invasion of their republic. Lusaka fears that this operation may be doomed from the begining. It is worth noting that Mogadishu is frequently the site of clashes between rival warlords, and that inserting massive forces there is likely to be an operation riddled with casualties.

Finally, President Igomo expresses major concern over suggestions that allied forces moving in may pursue targets across borders. This manner of disregard for African sovereignty is something further likely to cause great problems. ...And not all African nations are anarchic backwaters, unable to co-ordinate defence.

The Republic of Kenya must not suffer as a result of this operation, and Nairobi has New Lusaka City's assurance that the United African Republic will not tollerate wreckless behaviour in the region.

The Nomadic Peoples of The Spigs, as a peaceful nation not far from the homeland of the GLA, wishes to encourage the GLA not to make hasty decisions that could bring war to our region. We understand your opposition to alleged "imperialism". However, we strongly disapprove of your implication of violent resistance, and support of the current, corrupt Somalian "government." If you truly wish to call yourselves freedom fighters, you should wish to assist the Somalian people in throwing off the oppressive shackles of their corrupt leadership. If you support the current cruel, corrupt regime of drug lords, you are not freedom fighters, but merely common thugs.

The Credonian military was inserted into Mogadishu area beacuse of these clashes. It is one of the most violent and most dangerous places in Somalia. This is where we will spend a great deal of our time until we wither send in more units, spread out, or wait for our allies to go to other locations throught the nation.

As for the clans, they are not recognized as independent states in the eyes of the international community. They are still under the sovreignty of the state of Somalia, therefore, our plans will call for a unification of these clans. This unification will help ease the tensions between them and will hopefully lead to a more prosporus nation. One in which is governed entirely by the people. Understand that Credonia is well aware of the dangers of this nation, and is well aware of the casualties it may suffer from this conflict that will go on for quite some time, however, it is very much worth the effort. It not only brings much needed stability not only to the nation, but to the region, and it will help us crack down on drug trafficing and terrorism there.

We also went in because of the mass genocide that was and has been taking place there. We are simply doing what the United States could not do. We will not pull from the region until stability is reached.

In regards to attacking other nations, thta is not at all what was intended by the statements made. A nation cannot be held accountable for terrorists who opperate from their country if they dont support them, or try to oust them. Therefore, with that in mind, should we find terrorists in other nations, we will, with the concent of the government, ask permission to seek out and destroy these terrorists to bring FURTHER security to the region. By no means do we have the right to just declare war on a nation and waltz in just because they have a few terrorists living there. Please understand that the Credonian plan against terrorism and against the situation in Somalia has been carefully thought out over a course of weeks (RL) and months (NS), and this is the action we are taking to rid this region of the "impurities" so that the people in this region may prosper without fear.

The lieutenant quickly motioned for everyone to gather. "Okay. I want the next convoy completely obliterated. Anything that comes our way. So here is waht we're going to do: First, I want some of you to look like civilians and prevent the ground convoy from moving on. A person is probably going to get out of one of teh vehicles. That is wehn i want all of the RPG soldiers to attack the tanks and any ground vehicles that is armored. Any jets they have wont exactly be able to stop immediately and so itll carry on. That is wehn we take down their blackhawks or any helicopters that might be escorting this convoy. Then I want you guys to take any equipment that is not destroyed. That includes the jeeps. Okay? Lets get to work. Oh and before you go, when you are in the buildings, make it look like youre a nice little family for the benefit of the nice recon fly-overs they have."

The soldiers quickly crossed the main road and waited for the next convoy to come through. The same was happening all throughout the city.

Predator UAV's that have been constantly in the sky, unnoticed for hours begin focusing in on unusual movements on the ground below. To find out exactly whats going on, Credonian send in Somalian spies who infiltrate and relay back plans of an ambush on any convoy that comes along the main road into the capital city. Credonian military planners begin to think of a way to take them out and proceed, taking little to no casualties.

OOC: I'll be back in a couple hours, im going to go watch Black Hawk DOwn to get a few "pointers" (ya never know, it could help, lol) Also my first major attack will be coming sometime after as obviously an attack plan is going to need to be elaborate, detailed, and near perfectr (it takes me a while to develop such a plan).

IC: Credonian forces alert coalition forces and request that Credonia be the only group to take out the rebels on the main road and begin securing key positions inside the city of mogadishu, at which time coalition forces can provide reenforcements. President Sutton refers to Mogadishu as "Credonia's #1 priority" and would like to go it alone in the initial attack upon the city.

Missiles from RNSD Destroyers rain down on the coastline, their target: enemy buildings and troop houses. Planes soar overhead as they scour the area for counter attacking Somalians. Resistance is light but the troops are alert, it wont stay light, they are only 12 miles from the enemies main hideout Mogadishu.

"Just two more sir with 30 minutes. That will bring the total to 3000 Troops."
"Great, how long until we have air support?"

Within 45 minutes of issuing the order, 1 C-130 Hercules cargo planes take to the skies and drops two tons of food to the people. Predator UAV's watch as the payloads drop and the Somalian people scramble to get as much as they can before the war lords take it over. Another five minutes pass by and officials from the local clan begin shooting people and take control of the foods dropped by Credonian planes.

Back at the Credonian Command & Control Center at the Mogadishu Airport, General Maxfield makes plans for the first offensive to bring order to the city and put an end to the chaos. Predator drones are put in place overhead to gain more intelligence, and spies report in, telling what is going on around the city.

We are willing to help the somali forces in whatever ways possible. Althought we do not agree with their ideals, we do not belive it right that an attack has been launched under the pretense of 'liberation'. There has been no mention of an official cry for help from any somali peoples, and so we do not belive this war to be Just. There have been no sanctions or blockades impoosed to try and force the somali into revolution, and so we are going to stand with the Somali in this battle.

In support we have en route, on veichle from neighbouring countries, 2 special forces regiments, a armoured infantry division enroute from Kenya, where it was stationed as a U.N peacekeeping force, and we are also supplying a battlegoup, which consists of nuclear submarines, aircraft carriers, destroyers frigates and a cruiser. Although these forces will be in position within the week, we will not attack any of your forces. Lets call it diplomatic pressure. We are open for diplomatic debate and negotiation, and any valid arguments will be taken on board. We want to act as Peacekeepers and negotiators, but also to protect the rights of the somalis

40 soldiers rushed towards teh village of Caddey. The enemy, thinking the forty were just civilians returning home, allowed them to pass the check points without hassle. The soldiers were quick to separate once past the last few enemies and they hurried to what remained of their homes and they searched the rubble for weapons to fight off these invaders with. Many civilians, enraged that their homes were destroyed also searched for things that could be used as weapons.

The soldiers, who were teh first to attack, fired off RPG's at all the armor units surrounding the village. All the RPGs hit exactly where they were intended but the ones who did not have RPG's in their hands turned thier AK's to aim at the soldiers.

Crossroads of Hawaldig Road and National Street, Bakaara Market District, Mogadishu

It was mid morning and there was much activity on the street as the supporters of Hebr Gedir were bought fod and weapons and any others were quickly killed or forced to leave.

The Brand New Land Rover was not subtle neither were the four men inside wearing bright blue flak jackets wih huge white letters reading 'PRESS'. What was subtl ewas that the journalist was in fact a 'spook' from the Federal Intelligence Bureau (FIB), the cameraman was a member of the SRS Special Forces as was th esound recordist and the driver was indeed a local, although he was on the payroll of the FIB and specialised in interpreting.

Not technically involved in the Somlaia situation, United Elias was offering covert assistance in the form of Intelligence and special forces, although it seemed that not even teh coalition actually knew it yet.

The Land Rover, was of course armoured and inside there were a collection of small arms inclduing .50 Desert Eagles, P226 handguns, PDW-46s (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=97198&highlight=) and two Spas-12 shotguns hidden under in the trunk.

However when the four men pulled in on the side of the road and disembarked they were effecitvely unarmed and vulnerable. They started a 'live' broadcast taking panoramic shots of the street around the, only the feed was only going to a specially equipped EA-80D Transport plane circling several miles offshore.

They then under te suspicious eye of the militia entered awhat could be described as a bar but far more pirmitive and with the use of the interpreter started to interview varius people, one of them a militia officer who pretty much gave out any informaion asked for, including several audacious boasts about the number of men and various other useful facts indlcuing the weaponry available.

The 'press' team then embarked their Land Rover and moved several blocks down the road, to outside the Olympic Hotel, the militia's suspected headquarters and the target of the infamous 'Irene' raid, in the hope of gathering other useful information along with beautiful high resolution video to go with it, showing militia weapons, locations of defence structures and everything else.
23-12-2003, 13:54
"I dont like the press going about like this," the dark-haired man whispered as he turned to his commander, "usually, I'd be all for this, but there's something different about these. Look at that Land Rover. It looks like it belongs in a museum. Either these people just got in or they're up to something. Why would that Land Rover be new?"

It took a while for the commander to understand what he was saying but when it finally did click he jumped out of his seat screaming, "I want the headquarters moved. Out of here. Anywhere but here. You got it?!"

The dark-haired man nodded in agreement. The headquarters will be moved later today and all officers will be told to keep their mouths shut aobut the new headquarters. This is war.

Given that clan violence is particularly difficult to root out since it is fed by generations of hate, we are concerned that a solution brought about through force of arms may be more difficult to achieve than Credonia and its allies seem to think.

We urge Credonia and its allies to publish their rules of engagement to limit needless civilian casualities.

However, we strongly condemn any group or nation which is supplying arms, equipment and training to these Solamis warlords.

"Its time to kick some Somali ass gentlemen. We have seen what the local militia has done to the people. They are ruthlessly killing them in the streets, starving them by taking their food, and torturing them just for amusement. An end must be put to this. Now we have recieved credible information that a group of militia are poised on the main road into Mog to attack the next Credonian convoy that comes by, which means were going to need to take them out with our air force to ensure thta no Credonian lives are lost. We also have credible information coming in from our allies and spies that most of the militia in Mog have moved out to attack coalition forces in Caddey, which should make the task of controlling the city a bit easier, but we are still going to have a hard time. Remember people that these guys are like rats, they are everywhere, and they're as annoying if not more annoying than those little gnats that fly around your head in the summertime. There will be casualties, that a certainty, but lets put taht thought aside and do out job. Were here to rescue the Somalian people, and we wont stop until we have done so. So lets get movin. HUUAAAHH!!!" Says General Maxfield to the troops about to enter into the first major combat for Credonia.

Thirty minutes later 5 Credonian F-15E's from the 224th Fighter Squadron of the 25th Tactical Wing streak into Mog. territory and release their NAPALM bombs along the sides and in the general vincinity of the main road into Mogadishu. Only 15 minutes away, the following forces made their way into the city, fighting fiercely:

2,000 General infantry troops
50 Medics
20 M2 Bradlry APC's
50 T-64 Tanks
10 Crusader artillary units
50 Armed and armored Humvee's

10 KH-4 Raptor Attack Helicopters from the 480th Tactical Chopper Squadron of the 19th Helicopter Wing provide Close Air Support flying at an altitude of 500 ft. watching for RPG launches. Once inside the city, a team of 30 Special Ops Rangers make their way deep into the city asking citizens for information on where the opposition Headquarters are. The 5 F-15E's remain in the area flying at 5,000 ft. waiting for the coordinates of the opposition headquarter compound, ready to strike it at a moments notice. The other ground forces begin to systematically secure each city block one by one, searching every building for weapons, hiding places, and other things that may help Credonia and the coalition in this seemingly one-sided fight for the city.

General Maxfield sits back at the C&C center watching the battle from tv monitors while smoking a cigar.

"Damn! Our boys swept through there like it was nothing. This is going to be a bit easier than i thought"

Credonia has one MAIN rule of engagement. That is Do not fire unless fired upon. If there are people with weapons in a mob of people, then and only then may soldiers fire upon those people, for the safety of our soldiers. (This is because since the civilians are marching with the rebels, then they are for there cause and therefore present a threat to our soliers, and there is no way to determine exactly WHO has weapons. If this was not a rule of engagement, then the troops would have to decide on whether to fire into the crowd or be shot and killed, and their main concern should be putting down any revolts, if the people are armed with weapons. Credonian forces may not fire into a crowd/mob of people brandishing sticks and stones and rocks. This further ensures that no innocent lives are lost. The rules of engagement may seem a bit strange, but this is no easy conflict, therefore any and all uprisings are viewed to Credonia as potentially dangerous and any persons in that uprising that spot other persons with armed weapons are in agreeance with the killing of Credonian and coalition forces. We can not stand to let this happen. We must also show that we will brook no aggression. We can be just as aggressive as them and will be if the need arises.)

An RPG flies right in front of the APC leading the procession and the entire group comes to a screeching halt. The soldier that fired the RPG ducked behind the building and waited for the explosion that was imminent and finally, he hears an explosion. The bombs that were planted in teh middle of the street the night before had gone off just as planned and had hit all the armored unites as planned. Explosions were heard from the street and suddenly, RPG soldiers appeared on the rooftops of guildings firing at the Raptor Attack Helicopters each RPG hitting their target with the exception of one. Once the RPGs were fired off, guns mounted on teh back of vans were driven into the areas where the soldiers were securing the area.

Somalis swarmed the streets firing their AK-47s at the infantry walking beside the caravan. RPG soldiers covered for armored units and aircraft that might come back. Gun fire could be heard all accross the city and the same was happening all accross the city. When a caravan was not stopped by the RPG, the bombs were set off anyways. Civilians were being used as human bulletproof vests all accross teh city.

A team of Special Ops Rangers ran into opposition at an intersection close to teh center of Mogadishu. RPGs were fired in tehir direction. A squad of soldiers came behind the Rangers. The squad ran into the open and fired their weapons. 30 men were lost in the NAPALM bombing and 3 were injured.

Credonian Generals alert the KH-4 force of the coordinates of the rebel HQ that is being moved, and 5 of the Raptors immediatly head to their new target which is only 1 minute away. Once in sight, they launch their hellfire missiles at the complex and cars in which equipment and furnature was being moved.

Back on the streets of Mogadishu, 15 GI's were killed in the firefight that ensued, 5 APC were totally damaged, their crews all dead, and an additional 4 were slightly damaged, their crews only slightly injured. The uninjured troops form a barrier around the convoy of vehicles and fire on all citizens in sight carrying weapons, launching rockets into buildings where rebels were perching to try to shoot Credonian soldiers. The soldiers fight a fierce battle until no more gun fire was heard coming from the rebels, but they didnt let their guard down. they continually swept their eyes back and forth looking for more "targets".

The 5 KH-4 attack heli's that attacked the rebel HQ's hover 1,000 ft. above their demolished targets waiting to see if any further movement comes from the demolished building
23-12-2003, 15:25
With the sight of the KH-4s near the HQ, RPG soldiers on the roof let loose a decent amount of RPGS toward the helicopters even though they knew the RPGs could not reach the altitude the helicpters were at. The helicopters seemed momentarily distracted and in that time the RPG soldiers quickly alerted those packing up the HQ and the soldiers quickly took all papers and neccessary documents on their body and ran to another car round the block, out of sight of the KH-4s and they drove to halfway to the new HQ. From there he got out of the car and ran the rest of the way. Those packing the cars quickly ran whatever they could accross the street to an abandoned building until they could hear no more helicopter sounds.

Meanwhile, on the streets, a group of men came down an alley singing what seemed to be a bad song. The men appeared drunk but all the commotion attracted the attention of the soldiers surrounding the convoy. The Somalis quietly rose like they had practiced many times and fired upon the soldiers. RPG soldiers appeared through the windows of seemingly abandoned buildings and fired upon the convoy missing nothing. If their RPGs didnt hit a vehicle, tehy lodged themselves in the bodies of a soldier. Either way, tehy hit the enemy. More Somalis protected the RPG soldiers from any enemy that might come up behind them. Once the Somalis had risen from the ground, the seemingly drunk group of men pulled AKs from their garments and opened fire. Once again, after the RPG's were fired, truck-mounted machine guns were driven in to clear whatever else moved. Somalia lost 44 men in the firefight after the first ambush and all truck-mounted machine guns sent in. The Somalis quickly took any weapons the dead did not need once their life was over and they quickly dispersed still firing their AKs in teh direction of the live soldiers. The RPG soldiers watched the skies for anything that might come down. The entire group was quick to go in their separate directions and they quickly were out of view of all Credonian forces.

The attack force of KH-4's that attacked the headquarters moved out of the area, but little did the enemy know that they were being watched by Predator UAV's still flying in the air. The KH-4's were quickly sent back and attacked the building across the street, The F-15E's were sent in to assist and level the building. With the firepower unleashed on the building, it collapsed. The element of surprised served the Credonian Air Force well.

Back on the ground, Credonian tanks quickly pulled alongside the Hummers and APC's and scanned the streets for the fragile trucks with mounted machine guns. Credonian military planners noticed after reviewing tapes of the footage shot that the RPG shells only bounced off of the shell of the tank due to its heavy armor that only aror piercing artilliary shells can penetrate. An additional 50 T-64 tanks were sent into combat after this finding, accompanied by 15 of the most lethal killing machines man has ever devised in the history of war, the AH-64 Longbow Apache Attack Helicopter. To protect themselves from RPG fire, they flew at a height of 1,000 and above and attacked their targets with unstoppable force. The war seemed to be going as planned as Credonian forces began moving on wiping out all opposition that got in the way. After 10 blocks had been secured, they stopped and asked Command and Control to request backup from United Elias.

Once the Credonian forces had stopped, another group of bombs, once again planted the night before, were set off. The sides of the road burst with fire. The bombs planted in the middle of the street went off jsut like the ones on the side of the street. Somalis quickly swarmed the streets shooting any soldier that got in their way. RPG soldiers once agian hung their heads out the windows firing at the Credonian soldiers. If the Somalis were able to get past a downed Credonian soldier, they hung close to the Credonian tanks. RPGs were flying everywhere and so were bullets. All Somalis once again hit the ground and another set of bombs planted the previous night went off. The Somalis quickly got up and fired upon any Credonian soldier on the ground. The Somalis once again left the area in a rush. They dispersed and no more than 2 men stuck together at once.

At the scene of the previous encounter, Somalis searched waht was left behind by the Credonian forces to see what they might be able to make use of. They took vests off the dead soldiers and checked equipment to see what worked. Nothing did. Most Somalis left the area, but some once again fortified themselves in the buildings.

By this time, Credonian troops were getting aggrivated at the sporatic little battles that the somolians tried to put on. Luckily only 3 soldiers were injured in the attack as they were protected by the tanks. The AH-64's looming overhead at their minimum combat altitude of 1,000 ft. returned to the area's tha had been secured and used their infrared sensors to detect enemyt motions. After studying what they saw on the monitor and determining that the rebels in the buildings had weapons, they shot one rocket into the room of each of the buildings where the rebels were hiding. This crude way of wiping out the enemy was not necessary favored back at Credonian Command and Control Headquarters, however, the general stance of the generals were that it was necessary to ensure the safety of the city until reenforcements came in to patrol the streets and search the houses again.

"So what do you think of this situation Mr. President? Are we carrying out our orders to your satisfaction sir?" Asks General Maxfield from the C&C Headqarters.

"Yes, your doing a good job, although, it seems as if more troops are needed as well as attack helicopters. What do you think?" Replies President Sutton

"Well sir, so far we havent lost any of our birds, and the troops are alright, we havent lost that many yet, the numbers are still under 40, so were good, however, more airpower could be necessary in future engagements. The aircraft can only play a limited role in providing Close Air Support sir"

"Very well, i'll order more troops to Somalia soon. Keep up the good work General"

"Thank you sir"

Jeeps full of soldiers rushed towards the village of Caddey, passing checkpoints of SD troops on their way. If they had bothered to look closely they would have noticed that this was the only chckpoint of it kind. The guards, knowing full well these were not civilians as they had been evacuated two hours previously, let the Somalians pass, knowing all to well their fate. The Somalian trops arrived at the village to find just a few 'civillians' fussing over their homes. Yet again, if they had looked closer, they would have noticed that these soldiers bore MP5 machine guns, not the norm for Somalian people.
As they entered the village they disembarked from their jeeps, this want right. The village was deserted, there were no 2000 paratroopers and no armoured units. A somalian soldier entered a house, triggering the first of many booby traps. Mines and grenedes exploded all around as M16’s erupted from the surrounding bushes.
The Somalians quickly fell in the hail of bullets. One young soldier fell to then floor, faking death in a vain effort to survive. He could only watch helplessly as two speed boats sped away from the beach, each containing about 10 Special Forces.
Further down the beach a landing craft had arrived to pick up the Armoured units from the checkpoint.
The Allied plan to lure Somalian forces away from Mogadishu had been a complete success, leaving the back door well and truly open for Credonia.

Via Lenin , Bakaara Market District, Mogadishu

The Land Rover was speeding quickly down Via Lenin, heading South and only ten or twelve blocks from the K4 roundabout which would take them onto the airport road.

So far the militia had been distracted by the fighting but now the 'news crew' were starting to recieve unwanted attention from men armed with AKs and RPGs.

SUddenly they realised tehy had a probelm when they saw that a bus had looked like it had broken down after jack knifing across the road, several years ago probably. This nearly completely blocked the way forward and the Somali driver quickly executed a handbrake turn, turning into the narow streets and alleyways. The SRS operative looked concerned, and thought silently, 'This bloody skinny better know where he's going'
23-12-2003, 17:11
The Somalians breathed easy knowing they had barely any losses. Two at the most seeing as they stayed in groups of no more than two. Two more Somalians went to check if they were alive. In the meanwhile, a group of somalians returned to the site of the clahs and exploded more bombs this time right under the soldiers escorting the convoy. The bombs ran the length of the entire convoy. Somalians soon rushed the entire convoy, almost surrounding them. They fired upon the soldiers who had had the bombs go off right under them. Somalians were practically surrounding the convoy. They had appeared from waht seemed to be nowhere. They ran out of buildings and side streets and more wre still coming. A firefight was continuing. One somalian ran behind his allies as they fought. He watched as some of the friends he had known for so long, fought. He ran along the line searching for the medics the Credonians. He spotted one and he told the nearby Somalians to fire upon the medics. He took over what they were doing and he fired his AK upon the Credonian soldiers. After a period that seemed to be forever, he screamed something out and the Somalians disappeared into the same buildings and sidestreets they had come from.

Credonian forces inthe Mog anxiously wait for a response from United Elias to their call for assistance. The troops did not want to leave the area without having backup sent in first. There were wounded men, but the city could not be compromised after all of the fighting that had taken place. The men waited armed to the teeth, with support from KH-4 Raptors and AH-64 Apache's overhead, protecting them. Pedator drones continues to circle the area looking down at what was going on but saw little activity, for ost of the people had been diverted away from the area by SD military forces.

IC: Credonian soldiers with high spirits started to becom annoyed and angry at the persistent attacks that the manacing skinnies kept managaing to pull together. As skinneis approached, the Apaches and Raptors opened fire with their guns. The Credonian troops used the tanks and mechanized infantry for cover of the explosions from the bombs and shots of the troops as they shot back. They kepty swarming in numbers pouring from everywhere.

Sirs, we need to send in more helicoipters to go up ahead and take care of the rebels in front of us. thats where we believe they keep coming from. They fled the city earlier before and are returning to fight us" Yells an apache pilot into his microphone

"Roger that 6-1, we'll send more choppers inbound asap. In the mean time our sight is going to be limited to what you see as the predators need to land and refuel, then we can send them back up again. Do you think you can manage?" Says one of the dispatchers

"Yea we can manage, look how long we've been out here. Were doin pretty good by the way i see it. Its just getting annoying, all of these attacks"

"Roger that, Apache's incoming, ETA, 15 minutes

The choppers and troops continue to fire on all armed rebels, still waiting for reenforcements from the allies to arrive.

From teh second floor of one of the buildings lining the road, a Somalain aims his rifle at the ehad of one of the Credonian soldiers. In another building, An RPG soldier is waiting for the rifle shot to cue him to fire at the soldiers grouped behind one of the Credonian tanks. This is happening all along the road. The rifle shot comes quickly and immediately after firing his rifle, the Somalian runs down and ducks into the tunnel dug at the far rear of the building. The RPG's were quickly fired off to where the Credonian soldiers were grouped and immediately after, all Somalians ducked into the entrances to the tunnel system.

Luckily the inbound AH-64's saw where the somalies ducked and eached took on a target and fired one hellfire missile at each position obliverating the area it impacted whilst telling the troops of incoming RPG's. Unfortunatly, 1 tank blew up killing 10 more soldiers and injuring 5 more.

"Alright, thats it, we have to pull out for now, the apaches cant last much longer, they have been hovering for a while, the 10 apaches. the 10 that have just arrived will control the crowds and F-14's are being launched from Aircraft Carrier Freedom to napalm the area. The mob of people is getting out of hand" yells the field commander.

The F-14's strike in just as the convoy is packed and heading back. The Apache's pour fire onto all buildings ensuring that no one is alive. They keep firing until out of Mogadishu. Meanwhile, the F-154s NAPALM the entire area, engulfing 5 blocks full of fire and demolishing all buildings in their way. The AH-64's stay behind ensuring that the area is clear and await word from UE forces

OOC to UE: We requested military reenforcement to keep the streets safe while we take our dead and wounded back, plus we need to keep these streets secure as we push forward to take control of the entire city, which i see is gonig to take a little while.

OOC: F-15Es cant operate from Carriers.

IC:

The Six EA-28Gs (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=66401) from tthe infamuus 'Black Knights' special forces wing, each carrying six SRS specops operatives had taken off from the Combat Support Vessel (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=59383) Suez just thirty minutes ago and were now approaching Mogadishu. Their mission was not in direct support of the ground forces or in eliminating local miltitia but something far more important.

For years it had been known that Farad Hassan, a notorius arms dealer had been trading the local narcotic Qat for arms. Indeed he was the main supplier to the militia, and his Qat had also been found on ships entering United Elias. This mission was a direct assault on a Mogadishu Harbour complex and if Hassan could be captured or killed, it would cut off not only a significant arms supplier to the country but also prevent Qat being smuggled into nations. Furthermore the interogattion of Hassan could no doubt yield huge amounts of information no only about the militia but aslso about how narcotics are smuggled.

From the view of the helicopters still a few miles off the coast, Mogadishu in midafternoon sun was so bright that from a distance the ancient Port City gave off an urbane hue, with its streets of sand and its spanish stlye rooftops. Set along the coast, it might have been some sleepy mediterranean resort.

Several minutes later, as the helicopter force approached, the awful reality of Mogadishu was all too apparent. It looked like a catasprophe, a world capital of things gone completely to hell. The few paved avenues were crumbling, littered with trash and home to the rested hulks of burned out, abandoned vehciles. Telephone poles leaned at ominous angles, the stubs of their severed wires long since stripped for sale on the balck market. The only buidlings still intact seemed to be potholed with bullet scars and shrapnel. In the large public spaces were grand stone platforms that once held statues of the old dictator Mohamed Siad Barre. The national memory stripped bare not because of revolutionary fervor but to sell broinze and copper for scrap.

As the choppers started to descend, it looked as though the 'skinnies' were doing what they did best, burn tires. The birds then swept over the coastline and swung round quickly towards the harbour, where tired and rusting cargo ships awaited their payloads of Qat after unloading their payloads of guns, RPGs , grenades and other weaponry. The port unsuprisingly perhaps was quiet, but people starte ot emerge as the choppers landing area was no longer in doubt. A few Somalians fired into the air, hopelssly missing, but then the lead helicopter, 'Black Knight' 6-1 returned fire with minigun pods, shredding some of the Somali soldiers and sending others running for cover.

Less than thirty seconds later the first EA-28 touched down, litterally on the docks, and took off seconds later after their payload had disembaerked. As each helicopter landed the special forces kept covering fire on the buidlings, and then when the BLack Knights were clear they got up and advanced toward the obkective struycture, a two storey concrete buidling, where they hoped to find the warlord.

After the AH-64's and KH-4's are refuelled and the damaged tanks and cars replaced, the convoy sets back out to Mogadishu, resecuring the 10 blocks it cleared of rebel skinnies earlier in the day. A Predator UAV once again takes to the skies watching over The Mog. Troops that went out on the first wave attack look around and see the damage that was done by the napalms, and they are proud that they have rid the city of some of the rebels that were once swarming around the area. They notice that allied troops have not yet arrived in the area so they continue to hold the 10 block area until they come.

The Credonian Rangers have been fighting Somalian forces for a long time. The Somalians have been getting more and more weary of the situation. Soon a Somalian with an RPG runs over and fires teh RPG at the Ranger. An explosion hit the wall the Rangers were hiding behind and a small group of Somalians come up behind the Credonian Rangers. A truck-mounted machine gun drives up to support the Somalians who are fighting the Rangers.

Meanwhile, in the area secured by Credonian forces, Somalian civilians who had left the area for fear of a bombing, return to what remains of their homes and their businesses. Many are in tears trying to remember what they had had less that twenty-four hours earlier. One man throws himself at the feet of a Credonian soldier begging and pleading him to give back what was taken so fast.

While this was taking place, Farad Hassan was preparing to bring in a shipment of more "technologically advanced" weapons. The shipment was bringing in M16s, the Credonian weapon of choice, along with some new weapons that just might help turn the tides of this war. He had also been warned by others that a nation might come for him in hopes of stopping the drug flow and he had been prepared for such a thing for a long time and an underground tunnel system was ready whenever he needed to escape.

Major William Milnner, 1st SAS is first out of the planes. The wind rushes past his face as he falls to the floor, whoosh, his parachute opens with just 100 feet to go.
He lands on the floor with a tremendous jolt but his training pays off. Less than 60 seconds later, his parachute is off and his weapon drawn. Around him 30 other SAS troopers are doing exactly the same thing.
'Bravo Unit, take the left, Alpha, the right. Charlie company, TO ME' 10 Of the soldiers race towards him as the rest rush to secure the flanks.
Sporadic AK fire is meeting them, they return with mortars and M4 Assault Rifles.
Seconds later, the main force of 5000 Paratroopers is landing beside them. As the paradropped BMD's are also landing, they get their first armoured support. Gradually the enemy resistance filters out as they either run or are mown down in a hail of bullets, mortar shells and BMD cannon fire.
'Sir, the Panthers are here.' A trooper reports to Milner, informing him that their main transport, 11 'Pink Panther' jeeps had arrived.
The SAS troops board their transport as several take to the now landing Scout Bikes. The convoy moves out, the Paratroopers either ghetting on the remaining jeeps or waiting for the soon to arrive APC's.
10 BMD's and 11 Panthers move out towards Mogadishu, codenamed Mike 1.

Mogadishu Harbour, Minutes Later

Five fire teams each of six men started advancing towards the objective buidlings while the sixth remianed at the LZ on the dock laying dow covering fire and protecting the position. Luckily it seemed at though many had fled after the helicopters had opened fire.

Team Alpha reached the objective first and entered the ground floor through their designated entry point, after lobbing a couple of flashbangs inside. They fired with their M4s and killed several Somalians as well as taking a prisoner. They then advanced through several small rooms before clearing the main warehouse area.

Team Bravo had by now entered the second floor after running up an outside staircase and were searching what was belived to be Farad Hassans's personal office.

Teams Charlie and Echo had been clearing two other small warhehouses and were searching the crates of weaponry hoping to learn something.

Meanwhile Team Foxtrot had proceeded straight to the roof of the main objective buidling, setting up a fring position on top, attempting to prevent any of the ringleaders fleeing.

However it seemed as though nearly everyone had fled already, there was hardly any resistance and all teams had reported 'clear'. Their quarry had escaped. Suddenly Team Aplha noticed a trap door just underneath oem flooring tiles and somebody opened it, revaling ladder into a tunnel.

"This is Aplha, we've located a tunnel and believe Tier 1 personalities have escaped through it, permission to clear."

The operation commander in one of the circlin heliciopters surveyed the scene and realised that if they remained, the Somalis would have time to regroup and attack in force.

"Negative Aplha, all teams fall back to the LZ, with any intel recovered."
Several Minutes later the EA-28s touched down retrieving their fire teams and heading out back to sea, with small amounts of intel documents, a single prisoner, no casualties and no Farad Hassan.

The Lt Colonel in the lead helicopter then contacted Crednoian Command promising that they would not give up and this was just a temporary glitch. he aslo requested an airstrike on the three buidlings.

Farad Hassan ran down the tunnel with the documents detailing the M16 trade. He could see the exit but he knew that the Special Forces team could be right behind him. The entrance was not that well concealed. For that reason, he had ordered the tunnel be lined with explosives and when he reached the end of the tunnel, he triggered it. He could hear the dirt fall as the tunnel collapsed. He rushed to the truck waiting for him and he smiled to himself. "No more AKs. From now on, we'll use M16s," he thought to himself. He had already arranged for alternate means of shipping and the first shipment was expected in an hour. He was driven to the HQ and waited for all his things, which were moved when they tried to move the old HQ, to be loaded into his truck. He then drove on.

Meanwhile, in the nearby town of Jawhar, a small carvan of 'civilians' set off for Mogadishu. They quickly passed Credonian forces. The crates were only filled with grains... or so it seemed. The top layer was only of grains but under it, there was an entire shipment of M16 assault rifles making their way to the new HQ. The caravan stopped blocks away from the HQ and the crates were unloaded. They were put into another tunnel leading to the HQ. Ten crates were lowered into the tunnel. They were then pushed into the HQ building where they were distributed. Once they were finished using the tunnel, it was once again caved-in. The trucks then made their way out of the city.

"Good, good. How many more to go?" asked Colnel Roberts
"Just two more sir with 30 minutes. That will bring the total to 3000 Troops."
"Great, how long until we have air support?"
"Already here." replied the leutenant.
"Make them rest for 2 hrs. Then I want an assault on Saylac." commanded the Colnel.
"Yes sir."

Colnel Roberts was happy:

"Soldiers, we have remained un-noticed by the Somali. You will be sent to Saylac where I expect you to secure the area within 12 hrs. You will fly into the center of Saylac, and be dropped. You will have the air-support from 20 Apache Heli's. Sons and Daughters of the Austar Union, God be with you."

Immediatly, sirens begun to ring out in the temporary camp the soldiers had made, and the soldiers scrambled to their locations. Within two minutes, choppers were taking off with enomous speed, and raced towards Saylac, the target city they were to secure. Three Hundred troops were to be sent there immediatly, and the others were to surround the city in APC's. The Drop Troops were only 1 minute away, and the APC support were to arrive in twenty minutes.

"Alright gentlemen, lets make the final push for the city. With the number of tanks and humvees in there, we can secure the entire city. The Somalians wont have many RPG's because their main supply has been cut short, and intellegence tells us that they have brought in M16's (OOC: I dont know how the hell you got them cuz Somalians aint that rich, and you know u cant use them effectively because 1) somalians cant shoot for shit, and 2) they havent been trained to use a riffle like that, any form of godmodding using the use of these weapons wll be ignored) but not very many because they arent rich enough. We really dont have to worry about them as they cant shoot for shit. Just go in and do what you do. " Says General Maxfield.

An hour later, Convoy 2 consisting of 2,000 troops, 50 Medics, 20 M2 Bradley APC's, 30 T-64 Tanks, and 50 Armed and armored Humvee's make their way into the city through the secured area and met up with the Field Commander to be allowed to push further into the city. 7 Apache's brook off from the main group to provide CAS to the forces entering into the area. An Apache pilot reassured that no civilians were in the area for another 5 blocks. The new convoy pushed on into the territory experienceing no resistence.

Convoy 1 spread out its units to secure the area that Convoy 2 cleared as it pushed farther into the city. AH-64's begain flying circular patterns around the area scanning the buildings and streets using infrared sensors to ensure that the area remained clear and no threat was presented to the convoys.

SF's under orders to procceed to opposite side of city to Credonian convoys. This will, hopefully, draw the Somalians away from your end into a firefight with us. Hope that takes some pressure off.

Thank you for the additional support. Credonian AH-64's have spotted your troops on the move towards our area and will provide close air support for you until you enter the secure area. The area is getting a bit tight with all of the units, however, we are stationing our guys inside of houses to provide sniper coverage as well as to help clear out the streets for the mechanized infantry that we have in there.

The truck with Adid was escorted by two other trucks. The trucks were driven out of the city with the entire Somalian HQ in another convoy to be following its tracks in an hour. The trucks drove to another city where Adid disembarked. The Somalians escorted him into teh building of their new HQ in the city of Marka. An hour later, the entire Somalian HQ arrived in Marka unharmed and it appeared that no allied or coalition forces had followed them. They unpacked.

Credonia has recieved VERY credible intelligence as to rebel supplies. It is recommended that coalition forces seal off the entire Somolian border, and put aircraft in the air to monitor the borders so that we can cut the enemy supply lines. It is also recommended that allied forces seize all major cities that could possibly contain supplies that could be shipped to other cities to aid in killing our forces.

Trident missiles flew towards enemy camps on the most Northern tip of Somalia. Few Somalian troop were expected this far north, most were in Mogadishu attempting to repulse the Allied Assault there.
In the dim light of dawn, Landing craft could be seen making their way towards the sandy beach as Lynx and Cobra helicopters flew Close Air Support. Harriers and Raptors had already been in with the Recon jets and took out what it could see of the enemy defences. Royal Engineer teams had recced the area and declared it free from mines so Caluula became the next stop on the Allies list.
C-130’s of the Royal Air Force flew overhead, carrying the Airbourne Assault Force. RAFAIR and Paratroopers had been preparing for the raid for many days, their numbers now slightly depleated with some troops dispatched to Mike 1 in a bid to restore order.
In just five minutes, the AAF would be sending its first troops onto the ground, just as the first metalic clunks could be heard from the beaches. AAF were the lucky ones, their LZ had already been secured and Special Forces were there to meet them. The beach landing had to look out for themselves.
Inside the landing craft, 7500 men and women were waiting anxiously for the order to go. Mobile Infantry and Light Infantry had been brought in to give the Royal Marines some help with many more troops expected to arrive within hours.
‘Alpha Squadron, GO, Charlie, GO, Echo, GO, Foxtrot, GO.’ AAF had their orders. 10000 troops were now in the air above the north of Somalia. If they landed in the village, just 2km off target, they would probably not make it.
BMD’s floated down with them, their only armoured support until they met the Beach landing. Light machine gun fire could be heard below as the Special Forces engaged some resistance from the Somalians.
Back at the beach, the assault force had left the Landing Craft and was now racing over the sand dunes towards their target point. 10 Challengers and 3 or 4 APC’s were having to take a longer route round them.
Within 20 minutes, the two forces had met up and surrounded the village of Caluula. Totally outnumbred and compltetly outgunned, it was hoped that the Somalian defenders, if there were any, would just come out and surrender. If not the SD forces were going in one hour.

Forces now in North Somalia:

3000 Paratroopers
5000 RAFAIR

3000 Royal Marine Commando’s

10 Challenger MBT’s

5 APC’s

Various Aircraft from 2 V/STOL Carriers and 1 Helicopter carrier. Mixed Naval craft.

Expected within hours

5000 Soviet Naval Infantry
500 Gurkha’s
2000 RMC’s
100 Special Forces
200 Other.

25 Challenger MBT’s

The Somalian soldiers watched as their camp was destroyed. The tunnel system they were ordered to build was actually useful for once. They then rushed to the trucks and made their way south avoiding major groups of coalition forces. At one point, they stopped and took possesion a small shipment of AKs they had been ordered to pick up. The shipment was the reason they had left camp in hte first place. Realizing there was no point in going back, they made their way south to the city of Marka.

Thanks for your offers of CAS, we need it if its there. The Special Forces in Mike 1 have been reinforced and given new orders. They have set up road Observation Points (These are secret, not checkpoints) to monitor enemy traffic. Any suspicious movements will then be reporte to the other Ground unit in the Panthers and Credonian CAS. Hopefully then we can cut them off before the border.
Air Recon has been increased to monitor roads and area in general. COIG are also operational in the area. No details for you at present time.
Our units in the North will soon be moving towards other main towns and villages. You never know, they may have hidden som stuff there thinking it would be safe.
Suggest AU take Central Region as no Allied troops are known to be active there at present.
Thanks once again. Operation is going better than predicted.

Overahead Predator UAV's watched a convoy of vehicles travel out of Northern Mogadishu. It was apparent that their destination was the city of Marka.

---Credonian Command & Control Center, Mogadishu Airport, Mogadishu---

"Stupid skinnies, their dumbasses must not realize that were only a few miles from where they are and weve got the entire place on survillance. Just how stupid can they be?" General Maxfield thinks to himself.

Within 30 minutes, Credonian paid spies (skinnies) are sent into the city of Marka to investigate where the vehicles that left for the city were located. About an hour later, their position was confirmed and the building where the new HQ was located was positively identified. The somalies had no idea they had been watched and showed no indications of knowing we had spies watching them.

An hour and fifteen minutes later, an assult was launched to capture Adid and his men at the building they occupied in the city of Marka. Under the cover of darkness, an elite team of 100 Delta Force soldiers accompanied by a convoy of 7 M2 Bradleys and 10 Humvees rode into the city unnoticed and set up a perimeter taking four buildings around the main building where Adid and his men were located while a group of 30 Delta soldiers stormed the building. They quickly shot all of the soldiers on each floor of the building as they had the element of darkness and surprise on their side. 15 of the soldiers sayed on the first floor of the building and kept it secure as the next wave was sent up to the second floor to take prisoners.

Outside of the buildings 2 Apaches kept watch using infrared and night vision to see in the darkness.

Convoy 2 made a final push for the city and found no resistance as all of the soldiers had left. They established checkpoints at all entrances and exits of the city and check all cars and trucks THOROUGHLY before letting them in and out of the city. The troops begain giving out food and water to the people, going door to door making sure the people had ample food to eat that would last a couple weeks. Humanitarian aid was finally getting through to the people after years of oppression, and famine.

Adid gave up and offered no resistance to the Credonian forces. With snipers keeping an eye on every exit of the new HQ, he didnt ahve much choice. He ordered his men to put down their AKs. They disobeyed and instead started firing at the soldiers. Adid hit the ground.

The Credonian soldiers quickly shoot back killing all of the soldiers in the room. They look down at the body of Adid in astonishment. His own guys shot him. They quickly went back downstairs with the body of the killed rebel leader, put him into an APC and the convoy headed back for base.

--Credonian News Network Broadcast---
"Tonight, Credonian special forces followed the most powerful rebel leaders in Somalia, Muhhammad Adid into the city of Marka, where a gun battle broke out. Shockingly, Adid was killed by his own men. Only one Credonian soldier was injured in the battle. When word of Adid's death reached Mogadishu, the reaction was nothing but celebration and happiness. This marks a major milestone in turning Somalia around on the course for the positive growth and development as Credonia promised the people.

This is John McFadden, reporting live from Mogadishu Airport, Somalia."
24-12-2003, 12:22
All around the country, Somalians swarmed the streets throwing down their arms. With Adid being dead and the coalition controlling majority of the country there was no real point in continuing a losing war. Only small pockets of fighters remained.

Approx 22,000 troops with air support from Spectare Gunships and Harriers. They quickly captured the port, and are moving to the town centre.

They have met heavy resistance in some areas of the city around where the new rebel hq was based. It is estimated over 100 somallians where killed when spectare 1 opened fire on a group of unknowns firing irratclly at allied forces.

It is estimated that approx 30 troops died.

The EA-70 Mini J-STAR (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=26456&highlight=) had been fling for several hours at 33,000ft towards the border and looking for results on their radar screen, hoping they wouldn't find any. Then a range of dots appeared on the scope, stilll 70 or so miles away and overlayed on a map of Somalia. The high powered Synthetic Aperture Radar had picked up convoys of trucks, and groups of men inflitrzting through the border, no doubt foreign fighters and weapons shipments to continue the fight The Comms oerator marked it as flash traffic to Coalition commanders, hoping an air strike would be vecrtored, although knwoing that airpower alone could not stop this new insurgency.

Standard convoy engagement protocol, clear to enagage all hostiles, which are classified as anybody carrying a weapon in the immediate vicinity."

The six EA-28s (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=66401) changed course in tight formation, now heading directly for the shoreline just south of Bandarbeyla.

Two minutes later the small convoy came into view, pretty much as expected with a small escort. The two lead birds, Black Knights 6-1 and 6-2 then broke off formation and approached quicker than the rest. Suddenly a volley of gun fire erupted form one of the jeeps but missed hopelessly.

On Black Kinght Two the SRS special forces that were perched preacriously on 'people planks' outside the helciopter directly above the minigun pods were rerady to stop the covoy, As they flew past it, just a hundred feet away, AK rounds snapped past, but they were accustomed to this. One of the operatives being equipped with a special 'sharp shooter' version of the Tavor assault rifle, aimed his telescopic sight and sent a burst of three 5.56mm rounds through the engine block of the truck. Smoke rose from the engine and it slid to a halt.

Meanwhile 4-1 had swung around facing the front of the convoy and its miniguns rounds opened fire on one of the jeeps, causing so much damage that it exploded in a fiery mess. Black Knights 4-3 and 4-4 then touched down on the road a hundred yards back and a total of twelve soldiers disemaberked and started running forward as sharpshooters on the other helicopters picked off the militia who had abandoned their vehciles and were now trying to take cover, but failing miserably.

The First ground troops were now coming under fire from a couple of men in the truck and thinking that one of them was probably their target they held their fire, instead lobbing flashbangs. After they went off, the troops sprinted forward, many of them switching to their P226 handguns and wrestled the two men to the ground before attaching flexcuffs and dragging them back along the road to where the two helicopters had landed again.

Several minutes later the Lt Colonel alled back on the radio, ""OP Indigo Lima, Black Knight Six One, Target is secure, repeat target is secure, suspected to be Farad Hassan, no casualties, little resistance. We are returning to the Suez."

The requested air support by Helicopter Special Forces will be maiantained and 6 out of 12 of the EA-28Gs in our air wing will always be on alert with their SRS teams should the need arise. Currently our vessel is 97nm off shore but we are closing at a rate of 18 knots, so that air support can be provided faster and for longer. However our operations will not be limited to the North and occasionally the 'Go Team' will be used to act on intelligence in the South, crucially in Mogadishu hwere miltia leaders are still believed to be.

Above Mogadishu

The EA-80 (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=38933) four engine turboprop was one of the transport aircraft deploying the 3rd Mechanised Battallion to Somalia and on this flight the load was three of the heavy Stryker armoured personel Carriers.

In the cockpit, the pilot looked over his instrument as they recieved their landing permission on runway 23 at Mogadshu Airport and then glsnced out thw window at the city sprawling beneath them.

"Been happier, landing on 05, just coming over the coast and setting down."

"Yeah but then we'd have to take off over the city."

As the altitude and speed decreased, the pilot reached out and lowered the landing gear, quietly thinking that this country should be nuked off the map so it didn't pollute the Atlas.

A loud high pitched alarm then goes off and the co-pliot sees its the infrared missile approach warner, less than a second later, the missile avoidance computer engages, instantly firing off flares and issuing verbal instructions Bank Left, Bank Left, Descend, Descend. The pilot wrestles with the controls but because the plane was less than half a mile out and practically at landing speed, there is little that can be done.

The missile slams, into number 4 engine, causing a fire in the wing. Luckily the pilot reacts quickly and switches on the fire extinguishers, also shutting off fuel to the wing, causing Engine 3 to shut down as well. Meanwhile the co-pilot shoves the throttles for engines 1 and 2 to 100% hoping that they can compensate quickly enough and avoid a stall, which would cause the plane to fall out of the sky into teh centre of the city.

Fortuantely the plane seems to recover some of the speed lost in the manoevers and the pilot drops the nose slightly, and brings the heavy beast down right at the edge of the airport, the right wing still ablaze. The planes brakes are applied fully, causing a loud screeching as tires burst and shred.

In the cabin the two loadmasters and a handful of terrified Stryker crewmen, release their fastenings and preapre to jump out of the parachute door as soon as the plane comes into a halt, and if neccesary before.

The Credonian Apache's intercept the convoy. There seems to be seven trucks in the convoy, 3 are transport trucks.

"This is the United States Air Force, Stop your vehicles or they will be disabled by force. Do not attempt to Get out of your vehicle or you will be shot on the spot. Remain in your car until Credonian ground forces arrive." an apache pilot yells into a speaker system

Minutes later, a C-130 lands next to the convoy in the sand and 30 Credonian Marines quickly disembark and surround the convoy.

"TURN OFF YOUR VEHICLES AND SLOWLY GET OUT WITH YOUR HANDS UP. WE WONT ASK AGAIN!!" yells one of the marines.

The Somalians (there are 15) quickly obey and shut off their vehicles, climbign out with their hands up. The marines quickly handcuff them and sit them on the ground while 5 more marines search the trucks.

Truck Contents
45 AK-47's
10 M16 Assult Riffles
15 RPG launchers
60 Rocket Propelled Grenades
30 Lbs of Crack Cocaine

The prisoners are loaded up into the C-130 and flown to the nearby air field that was spotted on the way in. Convoy 3, currently enroute to the airfield is still another hour away. The troops and prisoners patiently wait for the convoy to arrive, while the Apaches keep an eye out for any rebels who are coming up to attack.

Following a crash landing on one of our EA-80 Transport aircraft (described above) on approach to Mogadishu we have confirmation from the flightcrew that this was the result of an attack from a shoulder fired missile launcher most likely a Strela-7 or FIM-92 Stinger weapon. Therefore we can assume that terrorists in Mogadishu and the rest of Somalia also have access to these weapons with obviously pose a huge threat to helicopters and aircraft.

There has also been a breakdown in communications it seems, because an airstrike has now been requested twice on the port facilties where UE special forces located weapons and ammunition but so far no allied power has responded. Destroying these warhouses is crucial as although the port facility hads been abandoned becasue of the radi conducted yesterday, it is likely that miltia have or will return to collect weapons that had already been unloaded.

After downing the UE transport plane, the Somalians raced to their truck and threw their stinger missile launcher in the back. They drove off and did not stop for a while. They quickly stopped in Marka for food and water and then they drove off, saying only what was necessary. These Somalians were some of the few still rebelling agains the coalitian forces and now, those that still did rebel remained in small groups and using hit-and-run tactics. They drove off waiting for their next opportunity to put a dent in allied operations. They were confident it would be soon.

In a sight becoming more and more familiar to Somalians, six EA-28G helicopters swpet towards Mogadishu, on each of the helicopters, pair of minigun pods and above those, people planks each with three SRS special forces operatives sitting on them.

Black Knights 5-1 through 5-6 had teh unfortuanet task of flying over the Bakaraa market district where the SAM had though to have come from. The morale of the air crew and the soldiers was high as this was their first combat mission over Somalia, the last two raids being conducted by the other 'Go Team' although they were obviously irritated at the prospect of having to be in this god awful hole of a country over Christmas.

As they crossed the shore the soldiers on the side of the helicopters, scanned the city with their NVGs, watching for enemies, careful not to shoot civilians.

The city was tranquil, most people having disappeared to their homes, thsi would therefor be the optimum time for drawing enemy fire and elminating it cleanly.

As they neared the Market district, they saw the damage of Credonian bombs, that had totally destroyed the Olympic hotel where the rebel HQ had been. Out of nowehere tracer rounds could be seen soaring upwards, the sound of gunfire ehcoed over the night sky. The sharp shooters quickly indentified the rebel and snapped off a few roudns killing him with ease and precison.

The helicopters then descended slightly and changed formation, flying in low circuits over the area hoping to draw fire so they could eliminate it.

With the major city of Mogadishu under allied hands, General Maxfield decided to push forward with its plans for securing another city. Marka, the city closest to the Mogadishu Airport was the next target as it presented a problem for allied air forces due to its relative proximity to the airport. Maxfield estimates take-over of the city to take less longer than it did for Mog. due to its size and diminished number of rebels. Prreparing for the assault, he mobilizes the following forces.

1,500 G.I.'s
200 Delta Force Rangers
25 M2 Bradley APC's

The following is a full situation report for the Somalian Situation.

Numbers of SD paratroopers stationed in Mike 1 has been cut from 5000 to 3000. This will enable us to surround Marka and prevent the escape of Rebel forces or rebel transport vehicles. A large forve has been dispatched to Marka to assist with the Allied assault.
SD Troops now have much of the North under their control and are watching closely for escaping criminals. 10 arrests have already been made and a number of tip-off's have been passed through to Allied Intelligence.
The bombing raid on the main port was a complete success and many warehouses taken out. 1 Large truck was also thought to have beeen destroyed. As we understand it, Credonian SF's are currently searching the wreckage and are monitoring sea traffic in the area.
We once again thank UE for their full support and assistance in the capture of the Allies first Somalian war lord. We can also inform you that SDSF's have noticed several suspicious convoy's and are in the proccess of tracing their point of origin. We await their findings.
This is the way to do it guys, lets keep it up.

At Credonia Command & Control, Convoy 4 was being assembled to move into the city. The humvees and Bradleys were being fueled up and armed.

"Alright, you all know what to expect out there. This is what you spend months and even years training for. Some of you are elite, so we demand the utmost BEST from you, we also demand the BEST from everyone else. Anything less, and you should have joined the Air Force." says General Maxfield as he gives his pep talk to the laughing soldiers minutes prior to battle.

"GO!! GO!!! GO!!!" yell the soldiers as they man the guns on the vehicles and fall into marching formation.

To protect the marching soldiers, the mechanized infantry surround them on their way into Marka. The field commander switches his radio to allied frequency 16.

"This is Convoy four, ETA to Assult Zone 'M', two minutes. Birds are enroute to provide added air support and recon. We need to put a perimeter on this city, and send more units in to capture it. We want this city on complete lockdown. No one comes in, no one goes out. Convoy four, OUT!" the commander yells into the radio.

Upon entry into the city, citizens scramble into their homes fearing the havoc and chaos that will ensue once fighting commences.

As the ground convoy rolled in, the six Black Knight Helicopters descended and closed up formation after half an hour of circling.
Their target the large concrete buidling in the centre of the city, which appeared to be some sort of former government buidling now occupied by resistance fighters.

The two lead helicopters approached on the flanks of the two storey structure, firing their minigun pods at the roof in a quick burst, hopefully forcing the militia to take cover inside.

Black Knights 6-3 and 6-4 then droped down onto the roof, smoke grenades masking them as a total of twelve special forces dismounted. They located a large skyight that would allow them access to the second floor. After attaching harnesses two flashbangs were lobbed through the shattered glass, followed a few seconds later by the soldiers swinging through and landing on the floor.

Inside, a few miltiamen still dazed from the flashbangs attempted to resist but were both knifed instantly, the six men that had entered quickly dashed through the second floor, elimnating a few rebels. They then set up firing positions covering the the windows and the stairwell.

Outside Black Knights 6-5 and 6-6 the elected to touch down momentarily in the square outside the target buidling. As before the men disembarked and ran towards the entrance to the ground floor safe in the knowledge that teh second floor was secure and covering fire was being laid down from the windows.

They entered after blowing the door and cleared the three huge rooms, killing several militamen, before securing what looked like wooden crates filled with Strela-7 SAMs, RPG-7s and a few At-7 guided anti-tank missiles that would have made short work of allied armoured vehicles.

We fear this may be an operation planned by the rebel elements to try and camofaulge their escape.

Located in: Somalia
Also known as: Merca, Merka
Population: 70,000 (1985 Estimate)

Marka, situated on the Indian Ocean near Mogadishu, supports oil-seed processing and fishing industries. Other local products include textiles, boats, and, before Somalia's civil war, paper products. Traditionally, the primary export is bananas, shipped to the coast from the rich irrigated area around Jannaale on the Shabeelle nearby. An agricultural college is situated in Jannaale, which also trades in maize, sorghum, peanuts, sugar cane, tobacco, and cotton.

Heavy fighting took place in Marka in 1994.

OIn view of the changing situation around Marka, we have moved Patrol Boats onto the rivers. These contain Gurkha troops and are looking for boats moored by war lords and secret tunnel exits.
Our troops have withdrawn to the banks of the rivers surrounding Marka, these provide a natrual seal and enable us to distribute forces better.
Where the rivers dont protect us or bridges cross them, we are now able to move more units into these weal areas as they are not needed as much to keep back the angry crowds. It may mean the crowdsa are now more concerntrated but it also means we are in a betteer position to keep them at bay.
Non-lethal riot control techniques are being used. If any of the Allies have secreagents in Marka who are trying to get out but cannot because of the blockade then please inform us. Squads are on standby to retrieve them.

Central Marka

(continuation of raid on previous page)

After placing satchel charges at the building to destroy it and all of the weapons crates, the 24 Special Forces exited through the mian entrance, out in the square darkness was fast approaching and the men switched to their NVGs.

The temperature had also reduced making the effort slightly easier to bear. The team leaders of each of the four squads called for their respective helicopters which could be seen circling above, high enough to be out of the range of small arms.

As the helicopters descended, ready to touch down on the sandy asphalt, the teams had speread out so they could cover the choppers while they climbed aboard.

Just as the first helicopter Black Knight 6-3 approached, and its downwash already throwing up dust, one of the soldiers saw two men emerge from a buidling about a block away. The experienced sergeant aimed at himinstantly with his Tavor assault rifle but because of the distance he could not tel whether they were civilians or miltia. In a fraction of a second he found out, as a badly aimed RPG-7 streaked towards them.

"RPG!"

The men dropped to the prone postion and the helicopter waved off and quickly ascended back into the night sky, as teh rocket propelled grenade slammed into teh buidling qhich they had stormed. Shrapnel sprayed evrywhere injuring one of teh special forces soldiers.

The sergeant who had first aimed at the militiamen dropped him with a three round burst but more armed men appeared from teh house and indeed at various other points in the surrounding area.

The liutenant in charge then yelled, "Weapons Free!", the signal for them to open fire at any targets based on their own judgement. Although seemingly huge bursts of Ak fire were incoming most of them missed by a wide margin until, with a terrifying snap, as 7.62mm round went through Team 3's leader, Gunnery Sergeant Ruben's chest. The teams medic then scrambeld forward seeing that he was still alive, but in a bad state. The lieuteant concerned for his subordianet also rushed over as the other men provided heavy supppressing fire.

"Black Knight Six One, Fox Tango (Fire Team) Three One is down, repeat we have a man down, need emergency medevac, over."

"This is 6-1, we cannot land a chopper, there's too much damn fire, last thing we need is a bird down. Secure the LZ!"

The liuentanat turned to his men and shouted, "Okay guys, bloody Air Force ain't gonna extract us, so here's the plan, we go back into the objective buidling, disarm the charges and set up a firing postions, then we can try and get a bird to evac the gunny, if not we'll call for a ground convoy, okay lets go!"

Rebel attacks are becoming fewer, though looting is a problem. RMP has ben mobilised but is currently occupied in Marka.

A small speedboat has been discovered moored at a small dock on a river near to Marka. Our Special Forces are watching it and we hope to have results within the next few days.
Our troops around Marka have made 30 arrests in the past few days. 3 were later released without further action (they were part of a group of children caught trying to swim accross the river by a PTB.) Intelligence found them to have no links with rebel forces nor to pose a threat to this camapign. Of the other prisoners, 6 are considered High Security, 3 are being checked for possible links to rebel forces and the rest were arrested for general offences. All have been forwarded to CC&C.
The convoy's of vehicles have not yet been traced though we are getting closer by the day. Preliminary scans show that no people are hiding in them so we can only presume they carry weapons. These will not be allowed to be distributed but i am sure you understand that we want to trace the source.

That concludes the latest Situation Reprt.

Credonian Apache's hear the request for a medivac and immediatly alert Credonian ground forces in the area. Minutes later, surrounded by G.I.'s laying on heavy cover fire, two Bradley APC's pull up to the building where the injured UE Team Leader was being protected.

"We heard you needed a medicav, put em in here and we'll haul him back to the command and control center" says the sergeant.

"Secure a perimeter, engage any hostile targets. Use your judgement. Fire at will. Medics, go in and get our guy. Lets GO!!! GO!!! GO!!! GO!!! GO!!!" he yells to his team

He gets on the radio and requests suppressive cover fire from the Apaches on the adjacent buildings where the rebels are firing from.

WIthin seconds, two Credonian AH-64's flying at a height just out of range of RPG's and rocket launchers fire a missile into the building where the rebel tracer fire is coming from. The firing instantaneously ceases.

"This is Alpha Hector One Niner to Black Knight Six One, Go ahead and extract your men, we'll provide cover fire. The medivac convoy wont leave until your guys are safely on the choppers, and they too will provide cover fire, but nows the chance to get out of there while you have a chance"

Above Marka

A Lynx helicopter flies in low over Marka, it is searching for the building where the injured UE troop lies.
The chopper is escorted by two Cobra's and watched over by Allied units. The target building is found and the Lynx lands. 4 Special Forces disembark from one of the Cobra's, moving into positions to cover the arriving Medics.
Two Medics climb onto the roof and run towards the casualty. They begin to administer (sorry, awful spelling) urgent treatment.
'RPG!' An SF notices the imminent threat from a nearby rooftop. AK-47's erupt from surrounding rooftops. One of the Cobra's falls.

In the background, the sun is rising over the fantastic scenery of Northern Somalia. In the foreground, 5 Jeeps of the SAS race along the uneven road before them, flanked by Scout Motorcycles. They are aiming for the village of Kubo, 3km south-west of Quardho City.
For days they have been tracking a convoy of 4x4's and vans through Somalia, and now they are nearing its destination. Intelligence from their own Intel units and those of their Allies tells them that these vehicles may well contain an arsenal big enough to equip several hundred rebels.
Their mission, Search and Destroy.

'Scout 1, report please' Major James Milner, having been transferred especially to this task, requests a report from one of the many scouts'
'This is Scout 1, reporting major Rebel defensive positions.
They've got sandbags on the rooves of some of these buildings. Roads in have been blocked, they've fitted vans out with huge machine guns.
The guards seem to have AK-74's....no, wait, thats an AKR. Jeez guv, Stingers, RPG's, Grails (soviet AA missile, used mostly by terrorists), there's some assault rifles, i cant make out which, guv, there's even Snipers on the roof tops here. If we go in there, we'll be slaughtered.'
'Roger that S1. Hold tight. (changes radio channel)SDTC, this is Alpha Mike 3. We have arrived 5 miles South of Kubo. Initial Intel sugests major rebel stronghold. We need back-up here.'
'This is SDTC to Alpha Mike 3, recieving you loud and clear. Units have been dispatched to your area and should be arriving shortly. We need a full sit rep, including numbers and weapons. SDTC Out.'

Back in Marka, Mogodishu
Credonian troops quickly seize control of the city while allies secure its borders. Convoy 4 quickly continues on to the heart of the city to prepare to hand out food to the people. As they pass by seemingly empty buildings, Somalian rebels appear and fire off RPG's at the middle of the Convoy. The convoy comes to a hault and troops quickly surround the convoy and lay on fire.

"Tengo Falcon One, get in that building and take them out" yells the field commander.

Within seconds, Tengo Falcon One breached and entered the building. They systematically searched each room on the first level and secured it. Just as they headed up the stairs, rebels shoot down striking the leader in the leg. They continue up the stairs, laying on heavy fire, killing all rebels they see (that are armed). After five minutes, the leader radio's in.

"This is Tengo Falcon Lima One, building secure however we have about 20 citizens here that need medical help. Im not sure of what the enemy soldiers were doing to them but it looks like torture Get send in some medivac helicopters, we need to get them out of here fast."[i] Says the leader

At that moment, two Pave Lows can be seen on the horizon, grwing taller by the minute.

'Falcon, this is Alpha Force, Evac site security team. We see your flare and are heading towards it. ETA 2 minutes.'

The Pave Lows land in Marka, one on the roof of the building concerned and another on the ground nearby. 10 troops exit each and begin to take up defensive postions.
Armed with a variety of SMG's and larger machine guns, they are a tough force to match.
On the roof, 5 of the team enter the building to help secure the lower floors whilst the other 5 take up Sniper postions.

'Alpha Force in postion, Lima 1 cleared for entry.'
'Lima 1 approaching, cover us boys.'
The air convoy of 2 Sea King's and the three Cobra Defenders can be seen approaching.

'Tengo Falcon One, this is Lima One. Evacuation is complete, all refugee's are beeing transferred to our hospital ship for treatment. Central Marka

The 24 SRS special forces had held the buidling against the guerillas for half an hour, and their morale had been dampened when their own helicopters had been forced to return to their ship because of fuel shortage. Now they were dramatically uplifted as Credonian Apaches over flew, forcing the rebels to take cover. Their spirits lifted more as they heard Bradleys draw up outside the concrete buidling.

The two medics, having placed the wounded man on a fold up stretcher then rushed out the main entrance and placed him into the back of the lead Bradley giving a thumbs up to the Credonian crew chief.

It looked like Marka had been secured.

Meanwhile, Credonian troops from Convoy 4 storm a series of buildings, taking prisoner the remaining rebels. The field commander radios in to all allies and to C&C:

[i]"This is Convoy 4 Commander, MARKA Secure, I repeat, MARKA secure"

"Roger, Marka is secured, resistence has been put down. Begin distributing humanitarian aid" Says Allied C&C.

The Empire of Roycelandia would like to inform all nations involved in this RP that the areas known as Kenya, Uganda, and The Sudan are part of Roycelandian East Africa. Roycelandia has no intention of expanding into Somalia at this time (we've got quite enough work cut out for us in Madagascar and Gabon at the moment), but I just wanted to let you know that Roycelandian East Africa's borders with Somalia are closed for the duration of this conflict, and all AA and Land-Based Defences are on full alert.

OOC: This means that, for all intents and purposes, saying "I bring in 50,000 troops from Kenya" etc. is not an option, as Kenya is part of Roycelandian East Africa, and not involved in this conflict at this time.

Incidentally, attacks on REA will be met with IGNORE shields and the use of IGNORE cannons if anyone gets too stroppy.

A dirty youth approached a Credonian checkpoint with his hands over his head and a paper note pinned to his sleeve. Smiling, his teeth displayed a greenish tinge from the obvious and rather thick wad of khat stuck in his cheek.

"No gun solider, no gun!" he shouted again and again as he approached the armed men.

"Note for general!" he said pointing to the paper after stopping as the soldiers commanded him to.

He then slowly unpinned the note and walked briskly away toward the rubble that was downtown Mogadishu.

Upon inspection, the note was hand-written and barely legible but the soldiers were able to figure out the words.

A watcher saw the soldiers take the messenger into custody and he slowly strolled back toward the marketplace where he told a stall owner that the messenger was in custody.

The message quickly moved up the chain to Ali Mahdi's lieutenant who drove to a secret location and entered the underground bunker where Ali Mahdi was holding a meeting with other Abgal subclan leaders.

"We must move quickly to tighten our grip on Mogadishu. Allah has used the Credonia soldiers to give us a great gift.... Yes Mohamed, what is it?"

"The Credonia soldiers have our message. They do not seem to mind the fighting in the city. At least they haven't tried to stop it," the lieutenant said. "The messenger was a dumb child as you ordered. He has no knowledge of our operations."

As they taxi towards the terminal, lines of eager soldiers wait to embark. However this is not the weekly supply flight but a massive airlift and the vehicles would have to take priority over the soldiers.

One by One HMMWVS and Trucks were secured in the cargo holds of the large turboprops and even before their loading ramps raised, the planes were taxiing out towards the runway again. Tommorrow they would return and a few ore times after that. After four days though, the whole force wold be back in United Elias, hopefully safely.

Ministry of Defence Official Statement

"Today the MoD would like to announce that the 3rd Mechanised Battalion, 1st Brigade, 2nd AMC Division (details on Page 7) will be demobilised after serving for over 60 days in Somalia. During Operation 'Urgent Commitment' the battalion gave highly professional service to the people of Somalia, by assisting in the removal of the Hebr Gedir militia and protecting supplies of humaitarian aid. However due to numerous other commitments and an apparent easing of tensiosn in Somalia, the force is deemed to be no longer necessary and military officials have taken the decision that it is now possible for the soldiers to return to their home base.

Sadly, one soldier was killed during the deployment, in a militia guerilla attack and we shall not forget the sacrafice made by him and all other members of 'Task Force Somalia', We also appreciate that operations conintue in this nation and we give our full morale and political support to our allies who are undertaking this task."

Marka...04:19am

Moses sat on the roof watching as the Credonian medical convoys passed through the streets, heading towards the main hospitals. The hospitals were packed, many ill through dirty water and lack of food. However many more were injured by stray rounds. Children had limbs missing, torn off by heavy calibre gunship rounds, many more had stray rounds still in their bodies. The invading troops led by Credonia were trigger happy, causing untold casualties and then they were sending in their own doctors and nurses to make it seem alright, it wasn't right.

The Credonians had set up a temporary tent to sort out and manage all incoming supplies. Doctors and soldiers moved to and fro organising the next incoming load.

Moses looked down on the square and signalled to a Jakob standing on the street corner. The man had a single crutch and a bloodied bandage around his head.

Jakob hobbled down the street towards the medical processing tent, strapped around his waist under his coat were rolls of explosives. He walked into the processing tent. A Credonian medical officer smiled and waved him through. Jakob looked around, the tent was full of supplies and many Credonian officials, he smiled briefly then detonated himself......

Moses fell as the shockwave hit him in the face, the air was knocked from his lungs and he fell to the ground choking. *that Jakob must have used twice the amount of explosive i told him to* Moses sat up, a grin spread across his face as he looked on the street below.

[Dear holy crap. You mean to tell me that Somalia just got invaded and annexed, and I didn't know anything about it!? How did I never see this thread? I just freaking lost Djibouti, now I lose Somalia without even knowing, so now I have nothing. I am assuming that my troops in the nation were also slaughtered? Good crap, I can't believe this...]

The messenger smiled and chewed his khat, feeling the rush and fueling his paranoia as he sat before his interrogators.

He didn't know anything except a vague description of the man who gave him the note and the khat as payment for delivery. No matter who long the Credonia soldiers questioned him, he simply couldn't answer their questions....

====

Meanwhile, Ali Mahdi crawled through the tunnel of his 'spider hole' and exited onto street level and moved to a new location. He was bound and determined not to make Adid's mistake and stay in one location long enough for the invaders to capture or kill him.

====

Back in the Mog, the gunfire of the Abgal's militia slowed for the evening as the men crashed from their earlier highs - both from the stimulants and the excitement of running down the remaining Habr Gidr soldiers.

A few helped themselves to extra rounds and refilled their AK-47 magazines for the coming weeks of fighting. Others took cash home to their families. But a common thought among them was that the Abgal subclan was receiving a large amount of support from someone to provide so well for street-level fighters.

===

A few of the city's poor approached the Credonia barracks carefully and began snapping photos on disposable cameras - they didn't understand why the men in sunglasses wanted photos of the Credonia soliders' camp but were glad for the cash which they were given. Behind the photographers in the shadows of several buildings nearest the Credonian camp, Abgal clansmen with stopwatches kept a close eye on the Credonian reaction to the presence of the photographers.

News of the suicide boming reached Ali Mahdi as he was preparing to move to a different location to sleep for the night.

"Do we know who was responsible?" the Abgal subclan leader asked. His question was greeted by a lot of shaking heads.

"Send one of your mercenaries out to claim responsibility then, tell him to claim responsibility in the name of Adid and the Habr Gidr."

After the evening prayers, a videotape was delivered to Credonia's encampment. On the tape was a mercenary (one member of the many armed gangs who roamed the streets of the Mog), who read a prepared statement:

[code:1:fd66711679]
My name is Salad Farah. I am a Somali freedom fighter. In the name of General Adid, we set off a bomb in Marka to punish the Credonian soldiers for their illegal occupation of my country.

We vow to continue to attack Credonia soldiers until they are dead or leave Somalia.

My name is Salad Farah. We dedicate ourselves to the memory of General Adid. Death to Credonia!

A group of 10 Credonian troops instinctively grabbed for their assault riffles as the bomb at the Marka hospital goes off. They rush towards where the blast came from. As they get closer and closer to "ground zero", the troops hear the sound of screaming and crying people, as healthy and injured people, some seriously, scatter in all directions, as if running for their lives. Troops in the aft of the crowd block passage of the streets where a multitude of Credonian tanks and APC's sit, ready to attack anyone who draws a weapon.

"Jesus Christ!!! Damn rebels dont give a damn if they kill their own people. What kind of shit is that....GET BACK!!! GET BACK!!!!!...STAND BACK!!!!!" says one of the troops as he tries to redirect the scattering Somalians.

Credonian Casualties
4 Troops
3 Doctors
7 Nurses

(Somalia, your going to need to post some losses as well)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Once the video tape was watched by Credonian generals and intelligence officials, it was decided that two more cities need to be liberated in response to the attacks. The suicide bombings could be helpful in attracting more allies to this cause and getting some more humanitarian aid distributed to the people, but talks of beginning to establish democracy in the cities would have to wait weeks more while the situation was brought under control.

(OOC: Looks like we have a post Persian Gulf War II thing goin on here now)

ANNOUNCEMENT: This is an OLD thread using 1993 REAL WORLD situations. As stated at the beginning of this thread, all claims to Somalia are DISREGARDED FOR THIS RP. ONLY invited nations may RP in this thread
