OOC: Even though it's dated 1979, that doesn't matter at all. I just think it sounds cool. But this is a WWII-Modern tech war.

IC: December 24, 1979: Christmas Eve in Naori

A few shops closed early, but most factories stayed in operational until the normal closing time. Christmas wasn't a very important holiday in Naori, as very few Christians had managed to get into the country.

But this Christmas Eve was very important, because at ten o'clock sharp, nearly half the navy and the entire airforce would take off for Genya. Reports indicated that nearly 10% of Genyans were Christian, but their allies were likely to be in a state of total unreadiness to deal with a swift bombing campaign by the Empire.

Bombers took off, protected by escourts of light fighters. Only a handful of them were Jets; most were proppeller operated. A few observation balloons were sent to take pictures of enemy positions, making coordination easier for the landing...

23,000 men were ready to assault Genya's shores. Among them were just over seventy tanks and tankettes. Naori had long been a crowded group of islands, but now with over 220 million people calling Naori their home, and emigration illegal, even the most rural areas were overflowing with people. With Genya annexed, Naorians would have more land to farm and live on. And Genya would serve as a staging point for furthe expansion onto the Asian continent.

There was only fifteen miles of ocean seperating Genya from Naori's most westernly island, so planes could easily take off from Naori to strike the enemy.
The Empire did not want the infrastructure of Genya damaged, because the roads would be neccesary for transporting the inevitable wave of Naorian settlers that would soon flood the land.

Zero fighters swooped across the sky, flying ominously low over the Onitaku Sea...

Naorian planes flew low over the coast, circling over the farms and homesteads that could be seen between the vast jungles an rivers that littered the coast.

One particularly large farm was spotted by a Nakahara dive-bomber pilot. His plane gave off a horrible screech as he dived, delivering a bomb to the target. He swooped back up just before he would have hit the ground. He looped around and studied the damage. The main farmhouse had been destroyed, along with a stable and a barn. The pilot could make out the shapes of people fleeing the chaos, as the bodies of slain livestock lay unmoving on the ground.

The first wave of bombers was moving towards the largest coastal city in Genya, and would be there soon...

It is still no reason to invade Genya. The USNH will back Genya all the way, you should deal with it. It is too far to call the planes back, and there is some disturbance in the air...

"Delta Charlie Bravo Omega, Enemy spotted, Rangefinding.... 2000 meters, all units, gain altitude and engage, engage !"

The interceptors soared up into the sky, loosing guided rockets off at the Naori bombers. However , there was some odd disturbance, halting the rockets guidance systems. They flew into the midst of the bombers blind.

( Its up to you do decide your losses, but could you return fire maybe ? )

Eight Galdanian Blue Valkyries, travelling at a speed of Mach 2.38, loosed their Styorzbrov missiles at the Hogsweat planes. Their missiles, too, seemed to be non-responsive, and they seemed to have trouble targeting the 'enemy' fighters...

OOC: Long-story short, I'm accidentally shooting on the Hogsweat planes, even though I'm staunchly anti-Naori.

'INCOMING !! BANK LEFT GODDAMNIT BANK LEFT !!!'
The joystick was stuck. The missile flew into the engine and destroyed the ship.

'Bravo 2, goddamn you Galdanians !!! Your firing on friendlies !'
Another missile slammed into his ship, spinning it round and ultimately destroying it.

The Six remaining hogsweat flyers steered upwards and strafed the Naori bombers with cannon fire. One flew apart in a fireball. But, one, returning fire with its nose turret, hitting the engine of the plane and igniting it. It was promptly destroyed.

'Comrade... We have lost three planes, two to Galdanian friendly fire and one to a um...'
The premier turned on the unfortunate messenger.
' A WHAT shot it down !!!!'
' A Naori bomber sir'
' A GODDAMN ANCIENT PLANE SHOT DOWN ONE OF OURS !!!! REVENGE WILL BE MINE. '
The premier took his time down. All the while the poor messenger stood in the doorway.
'Bomb a small Naori city. Reduce half of it too dust. WARN THEM NOT TO MESS WITH THE USNH !!!'
The messenger gulped.

Consul Supreme McCallister listened with dismay as the colonel finished his report. The summit on nuclear proliferation had begun as schedule, and Senator Combe was expected to arrive soon for a meeting on Manchidia to help mediate the situation, as well as convince all parties involved to agree to a peacekeeping force, and Naori had now begun open hostilities with Genya, managing to drag in Galdania and Hogsweat military forces, as well as provoking a response from several other powers. All while the Eredron military underwent an intensive restructuring and upgrading.

He swore to himself. He hadn't even been in office for a month, and all these brushfires were cropping up. "Where is Task Force Alpha?" he asked.

"Forty-five miles off the coastline, sir," the colonel responded.

"Order it to take up stationkeeping off the Genyan coastline in international waters; they are to monitor the situation and keep us up-to-date on any developments; if they come under fire, they may return in kind, but they are not to provoke the situation."

"Yes, sir."

"Bring the NRMC to emergency status; I want the entire 1st Army mobilized in case this escalates any further."

"Consul, mobilizing the 1st Army is an expensive--"

"I know how much it will cost," McCallister growled, cutting off the Minister of Finance. "And bring the Strategic Bomber Force to yellow alert status."

His Lordship Ezekiel Pyros Treason frowned at the reports layered on his desk. When he first heard about the Naori attack on Genya he had been unworried, knowing that there would be response. Now, however, things were getting out of hand. He turned to his top general, General Smith.

"General, send the order to rally our fighters. If this continues, every country will join in. Let us end this quickly."

The general nodded to his superior, then turned to the phone.

At the air field where Universal Treason had been developing high-tech stealth technology another phone was picked up, and soon pilots were sprinting for their fighters.

Now, however, too many powers were coming involved. If things went to Naori by purpose or accident, his Genyan trade deals would be obliterated. He turned to one of the generals in the room.

"Rally our fighters. Defend Ganya from attack, but do not have them attack any themselves. I want defense only."

General Call nodded and turned to the phone.

At the airfield miles away another man did the same, and soon Omega Squadron was lifting into the air.

"Unidentified aircraft, this is Captain Dennis of the Eredron aircraft carrier Stalwart be advised: your current trajectory will bring you into restricted airspace. You are ordered to change course immediately. I say again, change course. Over."

The Galdanian jets broke off, dissappearing into the fog. They flew on the enemy to the sides, and fired their Sidve-Paske missiles. The missiles flew directly to the sides of the Naorian bombers. The on-board compuiters estimated a 99.1% chance of hitting the bombers.

"Galdania would like to apologise to the people of Hogsweat. We were uncertain as to weather your planes were enemy or not, but one of Hogsweat missiles flew very close to a Blue Valkyrie. We believe that we should co-ordinate our activities regarding naori and Genya, so that an incident such as this one does not occur again. We would also like to alert the Hogsweatian government that many people within Naori do not support the government, and our sources believe that the Naorian government may not have even informed the populace about their military strike on Genya. We must inform you that if an attack is launched against a civilian Naorian target, we will bring any offenders before a U.N. court for War Crimes."

Omega One whacked his radio. "F***in thing," he muttered, as the fuzzy voice repeated its message. Suddenly he noticed a detchment of fighterss before them heading toward Genya. He remembered his orders, so called to his squadron to move toward the unidentified aircrafts.

"If they attack, retaliate, but do not make any other move unlass I give command," he stated.

His Lordship Ezekiel Pyros Treason was stunned. Just as Eredron sent him a message of their good intent he received a messsge from Omega Squadron that they were approaching a group of unidentified aircraft.

He frantically tried to tell them that they were friendlies, but the radio had gone out again. Ezekiel slumped back into his chair with a sigh.

The F-22 Raptors on patrol maneuvered to evade the missiles, but were only partially successful. Of the five Raptors, only two survived unscathed; a third had its wing clipped, and the pilot had to eject.

"Fox One to Stalwart, we are under attack. Request permission to engage."

"Roger Fox One, permission granted."

As the sleek fighters moved to engage the oncoming enemy fighters, five OHP-class Frigates and a Sacramento Fast Combat Support ship moved to form a defensive net around the carrier, as it's anti-aircraft defenses came online.

Omega One suddenly caught Ezekiel's voice on the radio. He turned pure white as he saw his squadron's missiles destroying the Eredron fighters.

"Break off!" he screamed frantically, jerking his fighter into evasive manuevers and attempting to hail the remaining aircraft now headed toward him.

"Eredron fighters! We are freindlies! Repeat, we are freindlies! Radio malfunction cause of mixup! Please stand down!"

He hoped that this time the radio worked.

Several bombers were taken down by enemy planes, but many still made it through to the Genyan city. They dropped their bombs over the city, more-or-less over the locations of museums, libraries, or any other government/military buildings they could find.

The four Jackals circled over Murushima, using infra-red sensors, sattalite detection devices, and nuclear sweep technology to locate any Eredonian buildings, or places of military interest.

Each plane picked a target, and fired it's KOR missiles.

OOC: The Jackal represents the pinnicle of Galdanian technology. It is the most advanced thing that Galdania has ever devised. It will be able to find an Eredonian or Naorian target that is at least semi-military, and blow it up with pin-point percision. The KOR missile can be fired while the plane is in the air, and fly up to 32km to hit it's target. It can adjust it's elevation and speed. It is the smartest of all smart-missiles.

Omega One nodded at his leader, or where his leader would have been, since the message was radio transmitted. "Eredron fighters," he spoke. "Lay your plans. We have orders to assist you in whatever endeavor."

And back in Universal Treason Ezekiel heard news that Galdania was attacking Eredon. He groaned. Would the treason never cease?

All Naorian forces have been ordered to retreat from Genya! Zeros will continue to patrol Genya's skies, but all offensive military action has been halted. Naorian officials have called for a cease fire.

"Naorian Red Army terrorists have seized the city of Murushima, our nation's largest city, and our most important port. Over 2,600 armed men, some of them appearing to be Galdanian soldiers, stormed the city, taking the entire 14 million inhabitants by surprise. The rebels fought from house to house, shooting at police, soldiers, and Eredronian peacekeepers. Reports indicate that the NRA has a 'list' of certain individuals within the government, which they are looking to murder. Eredronian nationals within Naori have been advised to flee the country, because the NRA is targeting them in partiular. Mor information will be supplied when we find out more..."

Ezekiel grabbed the sheet of paper. On it was statistics for Naorian terrorists attacking their largest city! He groaned, dropped the report, grabbed his head and banged it against the table. "So Naori still is the enemy. All right, this time I'm not throwing my military every which way."

"All right, Alpha, Beta! It is confirmed. Galdanian military launched against Eredron civilain targets. They have yet to stand down or apologize, so you are being sent in to neutralize any troops in Eredron and protect them against further attack. Understood?"

"Yes, sir!" roared the voices of Alpha and Beta squadrons, mingling with the roar of their planes engines.

Several hours later they spotted the Galdanian aircraft. They opened fire without a word.

The four Jackals dodged the fire easily. The UT weapons were no match for their speed. One of the Jackals banked a hard right, and was behind Beta squadron. The other three Jackals zoomed west over Naori, occaisionly firing off more KOR missiles at the ground.

The lone Jackal that did not run fired it's NAV anti-air missiles at the UT planes.

The Beta Squadron pulled a quick manuever. They split into three sections, one turning to the right, one the left, and pincering toward the Galdanian fighter behind them. The third group turned a u-turn and headed toward the same fighter. In a blaze of gunfire from their planes the fighter was destroyed, and they banked back toward the remaining planes with Alpha.

OOC:I might have little economy, but I put a lot into training my pilots well. I don't have the best weaponry, but I do have skill. :D

OOC: Please, do not list my casualties. That's called GODMODING. I was going to let you destroy that one, but please, do not post other people's casualties. BTW, these were experimental secret weapons. The 5th, 4th, 3rd, and 2nd best pilots in Galdania were chosen to pilot them. OOC: What is Grozny? And why would the President's daughter be wioth the NRA?

IC: Outside the embassy, almost a hundred soldiers kept watch. A few gunshots could be heard nearby, and the soldiers took up positions behind garbage cans, dumpsters, or wooden tables that had been turned over as a crude defense.

Suddenly, a couple of morter shells came out of the sky, and exploded outside the embassy, right in the middle of a group of police. A few men around them were deafened, if they weren't killed by the shrapnel that flew around in front of the building first. Concrete, wood, and metal all rammed themselves throuigh loyal troops.

As the dust cleared, a group of men armed with pistols, rifles, katanas, and even simple wooden spears came running at the soldiers and police. They threw grenades, molotov cocktails, and simple home-made bombs at the Naorian and Eredronian soldiers. Th

"Very well. Permission to engage granted." The Nimitz Aircraft Carrier cut through the rough ocean, heading under full steam to the port, already visible to the eye. Four nuclear submarines were already entering the port, already hunting their prey.

Lt. Peters blinked as the acrid smoke stung his eyes. His arm still throbbed, but didn't appear to be bleeding anymore. He looked down the corridor, and nodded grimly to the four men next to him. Each of them knew what the future held for them; none flinched from it.

Another mortar round hit the embassy wall, shaking the floor beneath them. "Check your ammo!" Peters ordered to his men. Outside, shouting could be heard, although he couldn't discern what was being said. He raised his head and caught a fleeting glance of the outside courtyard before he ducked down, escaping a torrent of bullets.

"Hand me a 'nade," he whispered to the man next to him. The other man pulled one from his bandalier, and handed it to him. Peters hesitated for a moment as he held the small grenade in his hand; then, pulling the pin, he waited only a moment before throwing it out the window.

A thunderclap shook the entire building, as a torrential pillar of fire filled the outside sky. The glowing afterburners of two planes could be seen rocketing away, leaving behind in their wake a scene of destruction; the corpses of dozens of NRA terrorists could be seen, scattered across the burnt lawn of the embassy, while the burnt carcass of an armored vehicle was on its side.

"What was that?" a private asked loudly; the explosion had temporarily deafened him.

Before Peters could respond, a voice came over his radio. "Alpha Company, this is Major Jennings; friendly aircraft has entered the area. Get down and sit tight. Over."

The Galdanian sub's six missiles mostly flew true, the first two hitting two of Beta's planes, the next two both hitting one of Alpha's, and the fifth missile slamming into the wing of one fighter, not destroying it instantly, but sending it spiraling groundward. The last missile whistled by Beta One, almost brushing the tail of his plane.

Tirelessly the fighters continued their pursuit over the roofs of Murushima.

We interrupt this programme to bring a special news bulletin. The Naori capital is being seized by NRA and Galdanian troops. Meanwhile, glorious comrade bomber command reigns fiery death on a Naori city. We have shown the Naorian people that the United Soviet Nations of Hogsweat is NOT afraid to use deadly force to back its allies up. The bombers have hit government buildings, military buildings, and one hospital. We are still not sure if that is intentional.
In other news, a fireman has died trying to rescue a cat from a tree. The can then jumped off the tree and continued its daily business.

The CO of the Stalwart sat down slowly, his hands shaking slightly. The embassy was being overrun, foreign troops had already landed in Murushima and throughout Naori, and hostile enemy contacts had been found and engaged. His two LHA Helicopter Assault Ships had moved closer to the port; 15 Apache helicopters were in the air; using their M230 Chain Guns and AGM-114D Longbow Hellfire air-to-surface missiles, they had been striking at NRA and Galdanian forces since the late hours of night.

Over fifty F-22 Raptors were in the air with them, attempting to halt the NRA, and providing some cover for the four Black Hawks that were inbound to the embassy.

"Roger that, sir. I can see the embassy roof, but there's a lot of debris; not sure if I'll be able to land," one of the Black Hawk pilots said into his mike.

"You will land," his CO said. "Ace and Lucky Charms will land first, while the rest of us provide cover." Two of the Black Hawks dropped down from their higher altitude, hardly slowing as they touched down on the roof. Instantly, soldiers, embassy personnel and civilians trapped inside poured onto the roof, trying to get on the helicopter; meanwhile, the the two Black Hawks were strafing the NRA and foreign combatants surrounding the embassy; suddenly, an ear-piercing scream filled the air.

In a shaking voice, a pilot reported in over the radio. "Ace is going down; I repeat, I'm going down." Smoke poured from his tail rotor as he fought against gravity to stay in the air. The Black Hawk jerked violently in the air as it entered into a tailspin. The helicopter's rotor scraped against the side of the embassy before it crashed into the earth.

As the two Black Hawks on the roof climbed back into the air, four Apache helicopters appeared; two immediately dropped in on either side of the Black Hawks to provide cover; the other two began strafing the NRA while the last Black Hawk touched down onto the embassy. Once the last civilian was aboard, the remaining soldiers climbed in. The pilot looked back at the colonel. The colonel nodded, and signalled with his hand: up.. The helicopter rose into the air and headed south, toward the port, while the Apaches followed.

"What's the current situation?" the CO demanded as he watched the radar screen aboard the bridge of the Stalwart, which was slowly moving away from the harbor.

Two F-22 Raptors have been incapacitated. Our submarine force has reported sinking at least four subs, but we've still no accurate count of how many are left."

"What of the ships that the NRA took over?"

"Disabled."

"What's your opinion," he asked his XO.

After a moment's hesitation, he replied, "the city is lost. At present condition, we cannot hold our own - there are simply too many reinforcements arriving from other nations."

"Roger," the CO said, almost to himself. "Bring them back - fighters, helicopters, everything lands now." He turned to the radio man. "Get me Military Command."

"Yes sir," the ensign said. After acquiring the proper frequency and settings, he nodded to the CO. The captain gripped the mike in his hand so tightly his knuckled turned white. "Command, this is the Stalwart, over."

"We read you Captain."

"The Phoenix is broken," he said gruffly. "I repeat, the Phoenix is broken."

"What does that mean?" the secretary asked, looking up at the admiral. The entire room had become silent, as the words again came over the speakers.

"It means..it means that our military force is entirely cut off and in risk of being overrun or destroyed. Notify the Consul."

They melted into the countryside, abondoning their positions within the city. But the battle for Murushima was far fromm over.

Galdanian forces were moving inward after landing on the eastern coastline of Naori; reports from Murushima were conflicting with each other, and reports of Hogsweat military attacks were just now reaching the Stalwart.

The F-22 Raptors took off from the carriers' decks as the crewmen cheered them on. Behind a defensive net of 10 Frigates and 4 Sacramentos, the two Nimitz carriers launched wave after wave of fighters to strike at the Galdanian naval force, while the 3 battleships prepared to bombard the Galdanian military force that had landed.

The task force CO watched as the F-22s closed on the enemy's position; taking out any aerial force, the Raptors were to do as much damage as possible, forcing the Galdanians to deal with them, while the nearly 30 submarines silently slid into their midst, with orders to sink as many ships as possible, in as short a time as possible before the Galdanians came within range of being able to strike at the carriers.

From the dark airfield of the Eredron Northern Region Military Complex, five Tu-160 Blackjack Strategic Bombers took off, their sleek noses aimed towards the heavens.

With their dark paint, the planes quickly disappeared as they slid into the clouds that enveloped the Earth; as the Blackjacks climbed to an altitude of 15,500 meters, the lead plane turned south-south-west, towards Naori which lay over 2,000 miles away. The planes, each carrying 12 AS-15 'Kent' cruise missiles, were to enter Naori airspace from the north, which was relatively quiet, and strike at the Galdanian military force as it moved inward; from their high altitude, it was unlikely any significant response could be made to harm or endanger the aircraft.

Following the success of the bombing campaign, more elements of the Eredron Strategic Bomber Force would be launched, with the intention of crippling the NRA and Galdania ground forces in Naori.

The CO listened to the reports coming in; the SSN's had engaged enemy contacts while the fighter wings strafed and attacked the surface ships; heavy AA defenses were present, and nearly a dozen fighters had been lost in the first two hours of fighting. The battleships ceased their bombardments following the strategic bombing made by the Tu-160 Blackjacks; the battlegroup was still waiting for a report on the sucess of the strategic bombers before the Apache helicopters were sent in to help clear out any fortifications.

Even the specialized Galdanian ships in the harbor needed to be constantly cleaned and monitered while along the coast. Is this a declaration of war. If it is than I assure you it is a dumb move. I never made any declaration or act of war on you and my allies will definatley see it my way so how about you back off me until I actually get deeply involved in this.

We were reffering to those of Eredron's allies who are murdering the Naorian people, such as Trixia. We are warning that calamity will befall those who continue fighting, or those who join the fighting on the side of the invaders.

Eredron has declared war on US. THEY are the invaders. They have not yet attacked Galdania itself, but they have declared war, and that can mean only that they are ready to strike us, and that they are ready to recieve our strike.

NRA members got lots of people around Murushima to join them, and over 35,000 men and women, mostly pooor, impoverished farmers, have joined the Galdanians. However, many soldiers still stay in the middle of the city, and fight off the NRA with sniper rifles and RPGs. They don't have any tanks, but they still have lots of men, and they know how to stay on top of buildings, or in windows, and snipe out enemy's on thew ground.

Over 170 different armoured vehicles smashed through Murushima, using whatever tactics neccesary to eradicate any resistance: 'steamrolling' over enemy troops, ramming buildings with specialized Demolition Tanks, unleashing attack dogs to hunt down enemy soldiers, sometimes even charging at surrounded police and soldiers with bayonets. Of course, these tactics were rarely imployed. If conventional tectics would work better, or just as well, they were used.

NRA guerrillas were given special uniforms to wear, so that advancing Galdanian soldiers would not accidentally gun down their own allies.

From the three Galdanian aircraft carriers in the Naval Assault Group, the sky filled with Jackals, Blue Valkyries, and Boar Bombers, which launched a major assault on Eredronian Coastal Defences. Jackals fought for aerial supremacy, while Blue Valkyries escourted the Boar Bombers to their targets. The bombing targets were not civilian, but were designed to cripple Eredron's infratructure and military stations. Main targets were highways, military stations, economic locations (mines, oil wells, etc.), and production facilities for metals, automobiles, weapons, etc.

10 Su-27s streaked low over the rolling Naori countryside. Suddenly they pulled upward and as they rose of the crest of a hill, they saw the Naori Sherman tanks they had been expecting. "Zulu Flight, Go, go, go!" came the order. The glittering payload of tankbuster bombs came down hard into the tank platoons, tearing earth and metal with cataclysmic force and ten jets headed back in the brisk winter air towards the safety of Galdanian airspace.

To Galdania Hopefully we may speed the downfall of the Naori empire with further strikes such as this, and we hope that we may play a

The three black hawks flew over the Naori capital. Their mission - to grab several leading members of the Naori government from a government building and bring them out. They were nearly over the target building, when there was a loud whoosh.

Sergeant Fergus Jergon heard only a whoosh, an explosion, and a white flash. He couldnt see anything, but when the smoke cleared the black hawk was spiralling out of control. He couldnt see his teammates, but he could see a huge gap in the floor. A wire jolted and he flew out the side of the hawk. He hung by a thread ( not really literally) and he could see the whole of the black hawk. The back of the chopper was cut in half, mangled. He could see some of his teammates lying on the floor. His life flashed before his eyes. Suddenly a warm pair of hands grasped his, and he was pulled up onto the helicopter. He got a quick flash of his rescuer, when the chopper banked left and he banged his head on the side, blacking out.

John Smith (random Naori Name) cheered like the others. They were all watching the odd plane spiral (WWII tech wouldnt know what a helicopter is, would they?) out of control. It crashe into a park and the Naori militia swamped it. He saw them dragged out two unconcsious bodies.

'Comrade Premier, a black hawk has gone down in the Naori capital'

McCallister leaned back in his seat; the direct threat to Eredron had been removed, but at what cost? The intelligence reports arriving hourly were grim; another communist nation, Kamerovia, had involved itself in the conflict, and Galdania's imperialist invasion of Naori was dangerously close to achieving its goal.

He was alone in his office. The overcast sky outside provided little light for the large room; the only illumination came from a small lamp set on his desk.

He was to hold a closed-door session with the senior Senators in three hours, to discuss post-war rebuilding, estimated to cost 25 billion Marks. The Reserves were slowly standing down, with active military staying on high alert.

Eredron had been given a bloody nose, but would recover. Naori, on the other hand...McCallister clenched his fist. He cursed them for invading Genya, cursed Galdania for supporting the NRA, cursed himself for not being able to do more to help...but perhaps he could..

Naorian civilians swarmed the heliocopter, pulling the two unconsious men from it. The civilians tied them up and began parading them through the streets. A cameraman captured the events, and within an hour, the footage was on television around the world. One of the soldiers seemed to be regaining consiousness, but one of the Naorian men hit him on the back of the head with a wooden plank.

More on the television was to come: A child wearing the helmet of one of the captured soldiers, people burning the Hogsweat flag, and straw men resembling the leaders of Hogsweat and Galdania. Some people held signs saying things like 'Eredron, where are you?' and 'Galdania get out' in Naori. People began chanting 'Traitors, Commies, Genyans Burn!' over and over again, as the Naorian message was broadcast throughout the world.

Galdania's tanks were crawling the streets of Murushima, as infantry handed out food to civilians. Eredronian planes drew closer to Murushima, apparently to ahnd out supplies for civilians. AA guns were locked onto the planes, in case the Eredronians pulled something. Of course, if soldiers dropped out of those planes, Eredron could count on total military defeat.

Reports of Naorian military movements flooded in to the Galdanian Information Agency, who relayed reports to Galdanian Airforce Command. Galdanian Airforce Command then asked Galdanian Military Command for authorization to begin a massive bombing campaign against Naoris capital,n and for 24,000 more infantry and 40 more tanks, to hold an administer control over Naori. Galdanian Military Command gave the go ahead for the bombing campaign, and began sending the troops to Naori. Galdanian Naval Command sent it's ships that were not defending the transport lanes to patrol Murushima harbor.

Captain Markos looked down at the smoky city of Murushima as the three EA-80s passed overhead. Explosions and muzzle flashes were clearly visible; a few scattered battles as the sun set over Naori. The aircraft were to land in a small airfield north of the city; a last stronghold of the Naori militia and loyalists. As the area appeared ahead, the three planes descended, quickly losing altitude.

Those aboard barely noticed as their plane landed. "Open the loading ramps," Markos said into his mike. From the other two planes came acknowledgement of the order. A low rumble filled the air as the back ramp slowly lowered. As soon as the ramps had touched the ground, men appeared from the small warehouse that stood on the edge of the small airstrip. With the help of those onboard, the crates of supplies were quickly unloaded and put onto jeeps and trucks to be distributed throughout the city, in hopes of providing some relief to those who had suffered from the imperialistic ambitions of Galdania. Naori militia patroled the area, warily guarding against a possible Galdanian strike.

The doctors and medical officers that had accompanied the planes had stepped off and were holding a quiet discussion with the senior Naori present, forming plans for setting up a hospital and shelter close to the fighting in Murushima; a cadre of fifteen grim looking men stood off by their own,

With the help of cargo lifters, the planes were emptied in just over two hours, with no incident.

Jeeps, trucks and other vehicles arrived continuously throughout the night, each taking a few of the crates and leaving, spreading the supplies throughout the city.

Jeeps passing throughout Murushima were stopped at gunpoint by the Galdanian Red Army. The vehicles were confiscated, along with any supplies they were carrying. Doctors and personelle were taken by armed Galdanian soldiers to any wounded or ailing, and watched as they treated their patients.

Any Naorian police or soldiers were to be arrested, or eliminated if they offered resistance.

Following the commitment of Trixian troops, the USSK have announced plans to upgrade the military involvement in Naori. Have no fear though, military targets are the only ones on the agenda and we urge our ally Hogsweat to be mindful of this...

Two squadrons of Su-27s soared high in the Naorian sky, heading to intercept the approaching Trixian tanks. One by one they peeled off and headed towards the ground, at one second intervals. "Whiskey and Victor Flights, Green Code". Major Peski flicked the red safety cover off and calmly released his payload over the tanks, just as they were attempting to cross a river. He looked over his shoulder to see black smoke curl skywards.

In addition to more aircraft the USSK are also deploying 2,500 men of the 14th RMC (Red Marine Corps) and 2,500 men of the 22nd KPR (Kamerovian Parachute Regiment) to assist in Murushima and the areas surrounding. It has also been rumoured that several units the the crack Kamerovian Military Spetznaz Regiment have been deployed although the government has yet to comment on this officially.

Fighting had nearly ceased over the past few days; only six Galdanians had died in the last week of fighting. Galdanian atrillery strikes were constant, and planes assaulted any fixed positions along the 'front line'.

Operation Sunny Day would begin in five hours (NS time), and would likely decimate any remaining Naorian forces. Artillery were to flatten the capital, while the navy launched cruise missiles from the coast. After the initial strike, Galdanian and Zefyeren paratroopers would drop into the city, secure major locations, such as the airport, dock, and major factories, and wait for ground forces to push through to the city.

In the event that Sunny Day didn't succeed, Galdania would still win the war of attrition.

1,600 Kamerovian Paratroopers of 2nd and 5th battalions of the 22nd KPR joined with Galdanian and Zefyrzi forces for the mass drops of operation Sunny Day. The Kamerovians were assigned to several major factories, some of which were known to be manufacturing arms for the Naori Dictatorship. The landing went well, it was not a windy day and everyone arrived mostly on target. Major Sovoskgrad loaded his AK-74 and moved over to his HQ platoon. "Ok, let's get this show on the road". Two platoons moved up to the first factory, while another entered, following the explosions of their Flash-Bangs. The firefight was brief and deadly, all the Noari guards dead, except for two captured. The companies moved on through the district...

Galdanian paratroopers landed outside the capital, in an effort to secure the city and cut off supplies. Naorian Volunteers would arrive in an hour or two to provide assistance. The people of the South had rallied to the cause, for the most part. Despite a few attacks on Galdanian soldiers in the past few days, Galdanian morale was still high. Many soldiers had taken a liking to Naori, and had brought their families over to stay in Yakashima. Literally MILLIONS of government construction personelle had come over to rebuild the island, and they were treated cordially by the people of the South. Exotic tropical fruits were being exported to Galdania, while steel girders, bricks, and building supplies of all description were imported by the Galdanian Merchant Navy.

Galdanian ground soldiers moved either by helicopter or by APC towards Takahido, armed with rifles, machetes, close-combat pistols, bayonets, and flamethrowers, for scorching through the dense jungle or city streets thick with enemy soldiers.

A detail of 56 men was assigned to rescue the Hogsweatians pinned down in the North, while a squadron of tanks was organized to barrel throgh the city to crush the Empress' Palace.

Jackal fighters circled above the city, protecting drop planes and giving information to soldiers on the ground. They were read to dispatch with any enemy planes they found, including any jet that the Empress might leave in.

Honouring the agreement of the 4th Communist Internationale Defense Pact, the Central Communal Council in København authorized military support for Galdanian forces inside Naori; this morning. The 22nd, 23rd and 24th Long Rifle regiments are currently en route to Galdania to be airdropped in the theatre in the near future.

Currently, the Defense Council is meeting with the CCC, rumours claim that air and naval support may or may not follow suit. The Major ducked as the 80mm explosion rippled the ground around him.
The floor was carpeted with blood, empty shell cases, rubble and the like.
He turned the corner in the building and rushed up the stairs to the third floor.
'Corporal !!'
'Comrade Major Kitovskay ! We reckoned you dead !'
'Well im not. Comrade, are there reinforcements ?'
'Da, Kamerovian forces are moving up to our position. Our armour will be here soon also'
'Excellent. Where are the hostages held ?'
'The mayor of the city is being held at the fourth floor, they have a guard detail of ten men. It was all we could spare comrade'

He rushed up the stairs as the corporal as the radio team took in more desperate frequencies from floors one to ten.
The mayor and some of his staff were huddled in a group in the middle of the room. A guard was watching them carefully with his rifle. Another was helping a sniper looking out of the window prepare his camouflage.
'Let me go you Communist filth !' The mayor shouted in un-fluent Hogsweatish.
'Shouting wont help you now'
There was a muffled thud as the sniper took his first target.
'One down, estimated about fifty militia coming down west street.' The sniper reported.
'Da comrade. Relaying information to west street defense' The radioman replied. Kitovskay peered out the window on the west side of the building. He saw nothing.
A large group of Naori militia then ran round the corner at a fast pace.
'Where is the defence !!' he shouted.
'Just keep watching Comrade'
As soon as they ran about four metres, all hell let loose. A cascade of machine-gun and grenade fire raked the Naori militia. They hastily retreated round the corner.

It has been confirmed that the Central Communal Council in København has authorized further military aid to Galdanian forces in Naori. A Røde Panser division = 500 T-34 tanks and an undisclosed number of 120mm artillery guns are at this very moment sailing towards Naori coastal waters - The convoy is guarded by 4 Danish destroyers and are expected to rendevous with Galdanian craft en route.

While it has not yet been confirmed, high-ranking commisars in the Danish and Swedish People's armies state that at least 5 additional Long Rifle regiments are preparing to be transferred to the Naori/Eredron theatre.

Commitee chairman for the foreign council Mogens Lykketoft held a speech earlier today. Transcript as follows:

"While we were reluctant to commit Scandinavian forces to the Shining War, as this conflict has been known as, we now consider the reinforcement prudent. If Danish, Swedish and Norwegian men and women must give their lives for the revolution, then so be it! Task Force Phoenix continues its salvage efforts, having failed to find any survivors; the best efforts are being made to recover as many of the bodies as possible, along with any relevant military equipment or other material.

Meanwhile, Minister Stapleton has made contact with Vice-Admiral Greyes, commander of the Phoenix Task Force. Stapleton informed the Admiral of the military strikes against the building in which he was staying, and requested immediate aid. Greyes has requested, and been granted, permission to move the naval force closer to northeastern Naori and land an expeditionary force to secure a base of operations near the city of Tarasaki((made up)), from which relief and humanitarian aid can be sent out, a more thorough investigation into the Auldoninnan incident can be carried out, and a military force be sent to relieve the Minister others.

2 Mercy-class Hospital Ships will provide any critically wounded with immediate medical care, under the protection of the two Nimitz carriers, and their battle group.

Over 6,000 Marines and other military personnel have begun securing the city of Tarasaki, with more soldiers landing, moving to eliminate any NRA terrorist cells that may exist in the city; a large school's gymnasium has been converted into a medical treatment and relief center. A makeshift airfield is being constructed for future airlifts, and Apache helicopters patrol the area.

Meanwhile, an airdrop has been scheduled at noon; the costly operation will reinforce the area with several Abrams battle tanks, Paladin howitzers, AA guns, and M-3 Bradleys; this armored presence will provide the necessary to ensure the elimination of the NRA in the area, providing a break from the fear that must surely grip the hearts of the Naori people.

They fired their []Skval II[/i] torpedoes at the carriers, before firing dozens of NAK missiles at ships and at the city. One of the NAk missiles exploded within the Myor submerine, causing damage to the missile tubes. The ship was forced to surface, or it's entire crew would drown.

The formidable ASW abilities of the 10 Oliver Hazard Perry Frigates reacted immediately to the submarine and missile threat, as did the rest of the naval force - including the formidable Virginia and Los Angeles submarines, who had been tracking the erratic unknown contacts for some time, and thus had been able to forewarn the carrier group.

The AA defenses of the carriers lit up the sky as they sought to bring down the missiles; the Sea Sparrow launchers on both Nimitz fired off surface-to-air missiles at the NAK missiles in rapid succession.

Many of the enemy NAK missiles were destroyed, but extensive damage was done. A Sacramento-class Fast Combat Support Ship was billowing huge columns of smoke as the crew fought to initiate damage control; an Iowa-class Battleship was listing to port, taking in water. Fires and smoke enveloped the older battleship, as well as several support ships.

Aboard the Intrepid, a nightmare was unfolding. The Skval II torpedoes had made it through, striking the carrier below the waterline; ear-piercing klaxons filled the air as men and women ran across the flight deck. F-22 Raptors were hastily being put into the air as the carrier ponderously turned starboard; a Wasp-class Amphibious Assault Ship was moving to come alongside the massive aircraft carrier, hoping to block any further missiles.

A OHP frigate had been struck by several missiles and was rapidly taking in water; despite the efforts of the crew, the frigate silently disappeared into the depths of the sea; into this graveyard, the frigate was accompanied by two of the logistics and support ships and a helicopter assault ship, although the majority of the helicopters aboard were able to lift off and are now stationed in Tarasaki.

After several hours, the submarines reported no sonar contacts in the area; in all, over a dozen torpedoes had been fired, although it had not been confirmed how many had indeed struck their elusive targets.

After the damage had been brought under control, a rescue attempt was made to the surfaced Galdanian submarine; under the angry eyes of dozens of marines, those Galdanians willing were taken off the crippled submarine, to be detained. POW status has not yet been granted.

The enemy submarine itself was inspected for hidden explosives and other "booby-traps" before being cleared, and brought into the battle group for further inspection.

The NAK missiles fired at Tarasaki struck mostly Naori civilian structures, although 3 Apache helicopters were destroyed.

Marines were about to burst through the door to his tiny apartement, where his wife and four children were sleeping. Tet pulled out his Kalashnikov from the closet. The Eredronians were banging on the door and yelling in some strange language. He leveled the rifle at the door, still closed on it's old, creaky hinges. Tet closed his eyes and pulled the trigger.

Niang and Myilkia were both young women in the NRA. Niang had been forced into a factory to feed her seven children, leaving them on their rural farm with their grandmother, while she earned five dollers a day in the Eredronian-run Nikie factory, making shoes that sold in 1st world malls for $120. The NRA offered her hope and promise for the future. If she helped overthrow the Empire, she could have a house, just like the rich people, instead of the shack she had made from driftwood and garbage in the back of an alley.

Myilkia had never known poverty. She was 24, and had always had food to eat and a roof over her head. But she had seen the plight of Naori's people, and had volunteered to aid them. So she left her happy home in the safety of Galdania to risk her life for millions of people she had never met. The true communist way. She was proud of what she was doing, and she had even befriended the people she was trying to liberate. Niang had become like a sister to her. They did everything together; they slept in the same underground hiding place, ate together over the fires that burned throughout the city, and fired their guns at redronian soldiers by each others side. Now could be the day of their greatest victory, or the day of their defeat.

Niang watched for Eredronian soldiers throughout the city, while Myilkia aimed the RPG launcher at a group of Eredronian marines near the harbor. She fired the weapon and pulled herself up. Niang fired a few rounds from her Galdanian Uzibrov assault rifle at the marines while her partner fled.

In response to the attack, 5 of the 8 Los Angeles Submarines each launched 6 Tomahawk Block IV cruise missiles at the known bases of operation and locations of the Galdanian invasion force, Galdanian supply depots and other military sites.

Two subs made it away, though one was badly damaged.

The Myor was slowly sinking to the bottom of the sea, and it's seamen lept into the arms of the Eeredronians to avoid death.

The captain, however, stood alone at the bow, saluted his crew, said something in Galdanian, and dove into the sea. He did not surface.

Lieutenant Hendrix jerked back, the force of the bullets knocking him into the soldier behind him. He dropped his rifle as the man behind him grabbed him before he fell.

The other nine soldiers flattened themselves against the wall on either side of the building, as a sergeant pulled a flashbang grenade from his belt. He nodded to the man on the opposite side of the door; the soldier quickly kicked the door open before swiveling away from the exposed line of fire; the flashbang was thrown into the home; after the loud burst of sound that accompanies the temporarily incapacitating flash, two of the marines cautiously entered the room, securing the residence as medics examined the apartment's occupants and soldiers checked the apartment for hidden weapons cache and other signs of the NRA.

The RPG seemed to sizzle as it streaked through the air toward the group of Marines chatting idly. A grizzly marine spotted the rocket, throwing the marine next to him to the ground. "Get down!" he shouted.

As the marines dived behind whatever cover they could find, the RPG hit the concrete surface, exploding. The bodies of three marines were thrown into the air, almost like dolls. Blood spattered against the pavement as nearby soldiers ran across the dock. With his pistol, the grizzly marine shot at the two figures he could see in the distance, to no avail; the attackers had already slunk away.

Galdanian anti-missile systems were a dayt away from being operational, and the missiles struck with full force at YakaShima and Murushima. One military building, being constructed by Galdanian civilian workers, killed 142 people when it collapsed after the missile strike. Other sites were also struck, with similar results. The greatest damage was probably psychoilogical, as many of the two million Galdanian workers in Naori refused to work the next few days.

Two Tu-160 Blackjack Strategic Bombers lifted into the sky and headed towards Genya at an altitude of 15,500 meters.

Travelling at 1,500 kph, the long-range bombers were quickly approaching their target: a cluster of missile silos and a Galdanian military base in Genya, spotted by reconnaissance satellites. The Blackjacks had each been armed with over 30,000 lb of armaments carried in their weapons bays; included amongst these several thousands of pouns of free-fall heavy explosive bombs, as well as 10 Kh-15P missiles, each with a range of 200km and a 250kg conventional warhead.

As the Blackjacks closed to 150 km of their target, the two bombers fired off their complement of Kh-15P cruise missiles at their military target, and waited until they were within range before dropping a 1/3 of their free-fall bombs(10,000 lb each) over the target.

The Galdanian missile from Genya flew over Galdanian-opccupied cities towards the Eredronian fleet. As it soared over Tarasaki, it exploded. Small bits of metal fell on top of the roofs, but noone was injured. However, the missile kept going. That is, the real missile. It increased in spped, and plunged into the harbor of Tarasaki. It swam through the waters, until exploding under the ships. However, none of the ships were immediately damaged. However, mines flew out of the missile, so that any movement of the ships could cause havoc and chaos.

They made their way to Takahido. They had taken only one hunting rifle, something that would not likely be out of place in rural Naori. Information stuck in their heads, information about locations of military sites, and actions being taken by the Eredronian and Naorian military against the People of Tarasaki.

Myilkia had smeared her face and all visible parts of her body in maceup and mud, as to hide her suspicious fair skin in this tropical island where white people would not be common.

He could see over the top of the building the T-20s and T-69s approaching. They would be less than 45 minutes away. That was when the snipers bullet hit him.

All through the night, reinforcements had been arriving at Tarasaki; aboard EA-80 Transports and G-12 STDS/CV Troop Transport Vehicles, over 12,000 more men had landed, as M-1A2 Abrams Main Battle Tanks rolled out of the plane's cargo bays.

In addition to these, the first of many C-5 Galaxy's had arrived under heavy fighter escort, landing at the hastily constructed airstrip; it would be followed by a near-continous stream of C-5 Galaxies that would arrive throughout the day, taking advantage of the lull.

Two M-1A2 Abrams were unloaded from the C-5, before the gigantic transport plane lifted into the air and headed back to Eredron.

Merchant ships had also arrived to refuel and replenish Task Force Phoenix, compensating for the support ships lost during the Galdanian attack. Unfortunately, as the Intrepid was being replenished, a merchant ship struck a hidden mine; the ship and its supplies sunk to the bottom of the sea.

The missiles launched from Galdania had been detected as they passed over the ocean, and SAM and AA units were quickly manned and readied in cities throughout Eredron. The twelve missiles broke into groups and split away, heading for their respective city.

One disappeared from radar, and went unnoticed.

Passing over the quiet city of Danfalls, the missile passed over the dark buildings and continued; although AA units around the launch site opened fire, the missile passed through virtually unscathed, and struck the scaffolding around the rocket, exploding. Fire leapt into the air for what seemed to be thousands of feet as the rocket fuel exploded; debris pelted the surrounding area. The force of the impact had broken the support offered by the scaffolding; ponderously, almost surreal, the flaming tower succumbed to gravity, and smashed into the ground.

Of the remaining eleven, many were shot down by SAM sites. 4 made it through; two hit the New Eredron Stadium and surrounding parking lots; another penetrated the air defenses of the capital city, hitting the Senate of Majorities Chamber. The last one hit the capital's Main Plaza, destroying the Christmas festivities that lingered from the celebrations that had taken place there; the fire consumed the entire Plaza, incinerating the entire three block Plaza.

In one of the largest Strategic Bomber Force air campaigns in the history of Eredron, 25 Tu-160 Blackjack Strategic Bombers took off from the Northern Region Military Complex. The sleek long-range bombers cruised westerly at blistering speeds, almost invisible to most radar systems.

With the ocean passing underneath them, the Blackjack strategic bombers broke into 5 distinct groups, each with their own orders and designated targets. Two of the five altered their heading, turning away from the others; the other three continued on.

Alpha and Beta, as the two flights were called, had been given targets in Hogsweat and Kamerovia; factories, military supply depots, communications centers, bases, and military airfields; each target would be dealt a staggering blow, with over 36,000 pounds of destruction being dropped on each target.

The remaining flight groups, Delta, Sigma and Tu, would hit targets in Naori; Delta would be targeting areas where Hogsweat troops and armored divisions had been seen concentrated by orbital satellites, as well as supply lines; Sigma would hit similar Galdanian targets, and Tu would hit similar Red Scandinavian targets.

In all, over 900,000 pounds of destruction were unleashed via cruise missiles and free fall HE bombs.

The S.L.G. Jackal II was completed, and the first five to ever be produced were launched to combat the Eredronian attackers. Jackals and Blue Valkyries swarmed over Galdania, while a smaller number of planes soared over Naori and other nations of Comintern.

The S.L.G. Jackal II is in the pinnacle of Galdanian technology. Able to take off and land vertically, it normally takes off like most other planes, on a runway. However, the Jackal II has unmatched speed and a maximum altitude that will allow it to tackle the elusive Eredronian Blackjack bombers.

However, when the first five took off from Galdania, one exploded on the runway, due to a technical error. The Jackal II is still a prototype, but it has been forced into service early to combat the Eredronian threat.

The entire Galdanian airforce has scrambled, and Sturm Luffte, tha Galdanian anti-missile anti-aircraft National Missile System is on 1st Alert.

Communist forces had, for all intents and purposes, taken control of southern Naori; the Empress had been captured, her city overrun. Intelligence was still gathering information on total troop estimates of the Communists((hint hint)), as well as pinpointing exact positions of command centers and the location of their fuel supply.

The Apaches fired off two Hellfire air-to-surface missiles at the still Hogsweat tanks before them, immediately breaking away as the fire-and-forget missiles streaked away, rapidly closing the distance to the tanks.

OOC: Galdanian troops are about 160,000, along with considerable artillery and tank support. Two million Galdanian civilians are in Naori, building infrastructure and making Naori a new country.

IC: Fourteen Jackal's (the old one's, not the Jackal II) headed for a newly discovered route by which Eredronian planes were travelling to Naori. Their goal was to take down as many bombers and transports as possible, in aerial 'hit-and-run' attacks. However, if they found six or less fighters accompanying the transports, they would stay in a dogfight for as long as possible.

Artillery continued firing towards Tarasaki with normal shells, while V5 rockets fired their first salvos at the city.

Along the western coast (ASSUMING that Tarasaki and Takahido are on the Eastern coast), 27 Galdanian medium tanks rolled forward through the rice patties, keeping their speed constant and normal due to special aquatic adaptations built onto their hulls. They hoped to sweep along the coast on which Eredron was not concentrating it's forces, to surprise the enemy, and possibly take the small town of Yoshihama, which was home to a sacrewd temple (sorry if this is wrong Naori, I'm just making this up as I go along). The occupation of the temple could boost morale for Southern Naorians, and make the people of the north realise who is winning the war.

Galdanian National News Agency: NRA forces were given their first
tanks by the Galdanian Red Army today. Three Porvevchki armoured attack vehicles were given to the NRA, after several of their members completed a Galdanian course on their use, how to drive them, etc. The government hopes to get more Naorians fighting Eredron and the North in what has become a bloody civil war. The Southerners of Naori are now firm believers in Communism, and now that the government has instituted land reforms, collectivized farms and factories, and supplied food to all people, Naorians see nothing bad about tbeir new system.

OOC: The news isn't neccesarily true. If Naori REALLY wants some resentment, there can be some. But I'm assuming that after how bad the working class in Naori were treated, that they would be happy with communism, at least right now.

"Hostiles inbound," Commander Drake said. "Eagle Flight, move to intercept; Fox flight, close perimeter around the trannies." He brought his F-22 Raptor into a barrel roll, dropping below the immense C-5 Galaxy and pointing his fighter in the direction of the Jackals. As the 12 fighters in Fox Flight surrounded the C-5 to block any incoming missile, Eagle Flight shot towards the Jackals.

As the Jackals closed within 30 miles, each Raptor fired off 2 AIM-120C AMRAAMs, which would track their targets with their own active radars. Seconds after they had fired off their first pair of missiles, the Raptors had each targeted a second Jackal, firing off another pair.

The F-22 Raptors led the way, performing aerial surveillance as they traveled the distance to the artillery. Once in range, the stealth fighters each fired off a 1,000 lb JDAM at suspected AA/SAM sites, followed by a pair of AIM-9 missiles.

Efforts to train and arm a Tarasaki city militia had been delayed when a Galdanian artillery shell struck a warehouse in eastern Tarasaki where weapons were being stored, killing three Eredron soldiers and four Naori training in the militia.

One unlucky Jackal was taken down by the missiles, but the others managed to engage their anti-missile jamming systems before the missiles managed to hit them. One, however, still clipped the wing of one Jackal, causing it's ammunition to explode, destroying the aircraft.

The 12 Jackals left fired their own missiles (two each), and attempted to disengage. One Jackal increased speed too fast, and it's pilot was splattered into a fine red goo inside his cockpit.

"Break away," Drake ordered. "Eagle Flight, evasive maneuver. Engage countermeasures.

The sleek aircraft turned away from the incoming Jackals and missiles. Drake engaged the fighter's countermeasures: ALQ-167 radar jamming pods, ECMs, chaff - the Raptors threw everything they had at the missiles to block them as they continued to maneuver evasively.

Although the countermeasures were able to defeat many of the missiles, six still got through; a missile struck Eagle Four's fuselage, causing the fighter to explode almost instantly, leaving no opportunity to eject. Another two F-22 Raptors plummeted to the ocean, their pilots ejecting.

A fourth Raptor was left unable to fight, and fell back to the shield formed around the C-5 by Fox Flight.

Drake ordered his flight to fire off another pair of AMRAAMs in response, as Fox Leader informed him the C-5 would be dropping altitude to land, and friendlies were inbound from the Stalwart and Intrepid, estimated to arrive in minutes.
