Sky Marshal Marcus Garrand stood aboard the Deck of the Imperium's most prized Sky Furnace, the Dor Daedoloth, and watched the grim procession of warships streaming out to the horizon. Framed against the ashen black clouds of Dor Daedoloth, the Imperium's gravships were an ominous sight, trudging solemnly across the sky. Two Sky Furnaces and a Dreadnought rounded out the fleets, the behemoths lumbering along in the heart of the formation.

Garrand clasped his hands behind his back as a squadron of Ravens streaked overhead, as the first of the escorts were launched.

Behind him, and in the center of the fleets were the troop transports, the massive ships carrying 20,000 troops each--mostly Elite Southron and Haradrim units. The Imperial Legion would be coming later.

He turned with a grimace and flung open the hatch. It was going to get ugly.

Christ, I've tried posting this six times, so I'm not going into detail on this post anymore. Jsut so you know, there are 8 Northampton frigates over APTO space, each have 15 mass drivers, and each fire an 8 foot long by 6 inch wide tungtson pneatrator round with an delayed fuse exploisve (blows up exactly 3 tenths of a second after contact).

At Mase Station Vernint We have the 5th and 8th SDF Fleets plus the 11th MI transport Fleet." The aid paused to look at a chart he was holding." Sir thats about it sir unless we want to wait 3 haour if you call the 7th 15th and 16th SDF fleets from their standard inter territoy patrol."

"No no, what we have now is good. What units are with the 11th MI transport fleet?"

The aid fliped though the pages" Hmm the have the 5th, 6th and 15 Corps as good veteran troops and the 22nd 23rd and 25th as green troopers"

The general had to laugh at that. Even a green MI troopers had to have 2 years in the GFI before being accepted into MI basic training. "And for Armer and Atillery support?"

Pages were fliped as the aid searched for the information. "Ah here it is sir. They have the 5th and 12th Armer and the 3rd, 4th and 7th light artillery."

"Ah good get them orders to be ready for action within the next 24 hours."

The GLAF Intimidator and Chupacabra slowly orbit the system, just within the Chupacabras massive sensor range.
"Sir, it seems that MU is massing an attack, we can detect large troop movements, but at this range we cant get individual types." A comm officer glanced up nervously, hoping the trouble wouldnt be blamed on him.
"All right, the Intimidator will move to within 2500 miles of the combat zone and relay the signal from the Chupacabra, you are not to engage unless attacked, do not respond to hails unless needed." Commander M'trana waved to the officer.

The orders were relayed and Intimidators massive 25 mile bulk executed a swift 90 degree turn toward the zone.

"Damn Melkor!" Erik von Blätterschplitt was angry. The Imperätor of Edölia slammed his fist into the table and repeated his curse again. "Damn Melkor."
"Calm, friend," soothed Mikhail von Argustock, walking into the throne room. The Marshal looked tired, but as always, competant and prepared.
"We seem to be spending every bit of energy we have fighting with him and his cursed allies," sighed the Lord of Edolia. "Our fleets and planes -those not fighting around Darkseed- are constantly shifting from place to place as new threats emerge."
"Sir, the new intelligence reports are indicating that the Drow raiders attacking Milantos may be preparing to withdraw. Our troops aren't going to arrive in time to do anything. Perhaps those men and women would be better off defending New Genoa."
"Very well. Do it." Erik von Blätterschplitt's command was hard and final.
"Yes sir. What about the fighters in Milantos?"
"Send half of them to New Genoa and and a force of bombers as well."

For the third time, the Edolian transport fleet changes direction, heading towards New Genoa. On board the ships are:

Another 300 Roc heavy bombers take off from Edolia and begin flying towards New Genoa.

The Edolian transport fleet is expected to arrive at New Genoa within 16 hours and the planes will begin landing within 8.

The Spaceborne Combat Transport was a strange idea to New Empire. Take a Merchant ship, load it with tubes, and drop units directly on to the battlefield. Most units were CRWs or Combat Robotic Walkers, and were loaded into pods, and launched onto the scene of the action. Most were quadrupedal or hexapedal, and were like spiders with gatling guns and missile tubes instead of forearms and mandibles, sensor pods instead of eyes, and commo gear in lieu of antennae. The 4 SCTs remained in Geosync above New Genoa, each loaded with 250 CRWs of varying sizes.

Once the aid left the General began typing his acces code to his comunication tuminal. Seconds later he was reading a message to Melkor Command.

Minutes after the speech, hundreds of lights filled the skys over Sambizie, as squadrons of SA-43 Hammerheads headed towards the 5 carriers now in orbit over Sambizie. ISSAPC's begin to drop out of the sky over New Genoa, landing just long enough to unload Infiltrator Divisions. The Sambizie "Support" fleet from Siesana,(20 Vessels), has been recalled and will arrive by daybreak.

The conventional branches of the military are now activated and will deploy towards New Genoa when ready.

During the course of the evening, the Sambizie Naval forces deployed of the coast of Sambizie. Elements of the 2nd and 4th Carrier Groups are continuing to lay EMP and "conventional" mines throughout Sambizie waters. The 1st and 3rd Carrier Groups have arrived and are in the process of resupplying off the coast and in the shipyards of Sambizie.

In the nations cities, an overwhelming number of citizens have volunteered towards supply efforts. Citizens are assisting the military in the transport and delievery of supplies to the underground bunker network. Ex-military, police and SSF personnel have reported and have been returned to their former units for active duty. Combat engineers worked throughout the night and will contnue to work through the day. Miles of barb wire, razor wire, tank mines, and anti-personnel mines have been laid along the coast at defensive positions. Main highways and interstates have been fortified.

The Sambizian "Siesana" support group have arrived and are now in orbit along with the Carriers. Last night under SA-43 Recon and Hammerhead escort, 10 Tellus Class colonyships have departed this planetary system.

The televisions of millions of New Genoans glowed brightly in the dark underground bomb shelters. Other New Genoans watched the television while on 'vacation' to an allied nation. And yet 100,00 more civilians had been evacuated to a separate planet. The President was about to make a speech. Recently, an ultimatum by the disgraceful Imperium, a request of disarmament, had expired. New Genoa was preparing herself for a full-frontal invasion. The President stepped up to the podium:

"Citizens of New Genoa! As you've seen from the global happenings, the cowards of the Imperium have requested that we lay down and die. They have asked us to surrender our will to them! New Genoa will not accept this! We shall defend our homeland forever, until death. I promise you that the New Genoese flag will fly over our lands for all eternity! Congress has approved a formal declaration of war against Lord Melkor and his allies, and over three million reservists have been called to arms. Let them come."

Soon after the speech, a message was transmitted to Lord Melkor:

"Dear Lord Melkor, we shall give you six hours to disarm your military and submit reparations to New Genoa. Accept it or face death. The APTO have gathered and will repel your foolish attack. That is all."


Meanwhile, Marines and Army Regulars raced across the streets of the cities, alarms ringing and the sound of marching heard. KAF-90D battle tanks and over 2000 New Empirian mercenaries dressed in M-26PA armor moved. Naval fleets carefully manuevered past the EM mines hidden in the waters north of the capital's shores and several other eastern coast cities. Fighters had already taken to the air and SAMs were being armed. Trenches across the lands were full of millions of troops.

"High General!" cried an aide.

"Yes?" replied High General Tachi.

"The enemy units are approaching quickly! Shall I commence the air-war?"

"Yes... yes... tell those damn fighters to hold off those bastards. Get me two C-130's. If any gravship gets close to 'em: drop a MOAB on it."

"Aye, sir." The aide radioed the commands and scurried off carrying his M16A4 nearby.

War was coming.

KAF-90D basically uses a 140mm ETC cannon, which uses an adavanced chemical propellant to increase penetration by about 30%. It can penetrate 2300mm at 1km, 1700mm at 2km, 1000mm at 3km, and 700mm at 4km. It has two 14.5mm machine guns. One turret and one glacis. These are operated from inside the tank and can pierce most APC armor. Also equipped are a coaxial 7.62mm minigun for anti-infantry, and 12 Kornet-2 ATGMs to the rear of the turret that have a range of 6km and can penetrate 1600mm. The armor is lighter but equal to about 1500mm.

The M-26PA - top speed of 20mph, 60mm shoulder ETC cannon, and a handheld 20mm M-75 autocannon. Very tough armor. Ask New Empire for more OOC info.

The Star League Navy would have no qualms about destroying your "fleet". We suggest you stay where you are most useful.

Elarian Naval Vessels under the command of Admiral Hester have reached New Genoese waters , lines of transports hit the beach and streams of blue soldiers emerge and immediately begin building walls , trenches and fortifications.

In orbit Elarian Imperial Fleet ships take up position above New Genoa , even the new Mwto'ar Class Frigates are seen there.

A line of Elarian Shuttlecraft fly acrossed the water with huge metallic boes underneath them. The shuttles drop the boxes in a row on the beachfront. Imperial Soldiers pull them open to reveal a massive machine that looks slightly like a tank. This was the Elarian replacement for tanks , artillery and anti air. It was called the Tor'Veth and it used anti-grav to be lifted off the ground for superior movement , it could also go over water though its mostly used on land to have better stability. The armament for these massive beasts are 5 Plasma Cannons , 3 Rapid Fire Laser Turrets , 8 Anti Armor/Anti Aircraft Tracking Missiles. It has heavy armor plating to protect it and boosters in the back of it to give it superior speed. Only the Elarians knew of this , they had never told anyone of it. The Empire had used it in the Deritess situation in which a few people secretly stumbled onto.

Defenses are in place as one Warrior steps out into the open next to a General. He is dressed differently than the rest , he carries his Elarian Sword inhand. He is Emperor Roland Meridius.

A line of Elarian Shuttles flies in dropping down 3,000 more Tor'Veths which Elarian Warriors quickly set up along the eastern front with the other 2,000. In the distance Elarian Ships are seen dropping water mines and mapping them out so that the allied fleets can know where to go , to go around them. Gentari Fighters fly over head looking over the ground and naval troops.

As the mass drivers are fired, an array of active sensor drones in orbit relay the information to the onboard sensor suites aboard each of the gravships. Scrambling to enact evasive maneuvers, most of the ships manage to clear the target area, but explosions rock near a dozen ships. None are lost, but damages range from light to moderate, with no one ship sustaining mre than two hits. Smoke pours from the hull of one of the AA frigates, as it limps to the Sky Fortress for repairs.

The return fire is awesome. Thousands of long range rail driver shells are loaded and fired an instant later, streaking through the air at the enemy fleets. Following the artillery strike is 5 waves of coilgun missiles, fired some three minutes apart. 30 missiles are in each wave.

[ooc: OK, I'm coming in from the west of your region, and I'd say I'm somewhere near.. oh, 500 km outside the region. Speed has been decreased to harry enemy forces, and allow for allied reinforcements to catch up (why is it whenever I go to war, my allies are never on the stick :evil: ).]

The planes were fully gassed. There they lay, and wait for the next five minutes to pass by. The pilot's of each of the one hundred aircraft settled into their cockpits and quickly engaged the turbine engines. No one seemed to be overly nervous, they had good equipment with them, at least. Fifty interceptors and fifty ROC heavy bombers set up, with their own individual missions.

The timer was running low, and the pilot's gunned the engines to full energy. The man signaling to the planes south of the tower ripped his hand down. It was time for take off.

Somehow the commanders took comfort knowing that SAM fire was not a problem for them anymore. Most remembered the days were you couldn't get past a SAM being fired at you.. radar jamming and the lot of Pilot's technological developments had solved this problem. Now, the chance of a life getting ripped apart by a surface-to-air missile as almost nil, but that is just what the developers said. It would be the first time such was demostrated in a real air combat situation.

As each plane took off, one more life was thrown into hell. It would be a very sad letter to write if one of them didn't come back. The Commander always hated that air sorties went before ground invasions and all other, because once a life was lost - everyone knew about it.

Things were moving very slowly, the Commander observed. It was better this way. All the infantry that was needed was already were it needed to be, Pilot's ground forces were there merely as backups and a huge technological and logistical edge of Melkor. Most of the setting up had to do with missile defense systems and such, but that wouldn't take much longer. Most of the Objective Force Warrior soliders were still suiting up, and the regulars were in firing practices. It has been a long time since even Pilot peacekeepers had been used in a conflict. A little rusty, Jake thought to himself, shouldn't be a problem. Our guys got lots of training down at The Bay.

Even as a member of The Reich and gunning engines to aid a common ally, i cannot sit back and watch people suffering 1,500 of my men and women are being dropped into the warzone to set up medical positions in both halves of the fighting and on the front line, they will not take a side and will treat each soldier with the same dignity and respect, no soldier will be mistreated if they are Apto and Allies or Melkor and his allies. However my air forces is being deployed to aid Melkor and should reach with the rest of The Reich's forces.

"The Liberty Fighters 1st Space Group containing 5 'Northampton' class frigates and lighter support craft join the allied space fleets over new genoa, they form at the front, apperently they dont plan on staying there long." LF forces have dug in, frotified and strengthend the beach head along side the Forces of elara, newly developed LF Plasma Artillery placements litter the beach, not even a sandmite would survive on that beach once the defenders open up on it."

The first Edolian landing fleet begins to disembark from their ships and set up bases around Blaine Island. A temporary headquarters is being set up in the center of the island, a giant Edolian flag, the red black and blue fluttering the breeze. Throughout the island, located in well-hidden spots, 850 Hergul SAM batteries (modified Patriots that fire more advanced surface to air missiles) are set up. Our 2,750 tanks and 300,000 soldiers begin digging in around the island. Located in small clusters, the troops are well hidden and their mission is not to stop Melkor troops from landing but to keep them pinned down if they do land.

The first and second waves of Edolian fighters have landed and are based in New Genoese airstrips throughout the country. As soon as the order is given, they will take off to engage the Melkor fleet. 550 GLORY-X air-to-air bunker busters (put into production in a hurry and so malfunction more often than other missiles) are ready to be loaded onto our planes. Our Rocs are loaded with bunker-busters and MOABs.

Alarms were buzzing constantly after radar had detected the enemy's route of arrival. Soldiers rushed to prepare themselves, and bombers began taking off one-by-one. Of these, two B2 stealth bombers soared overhead at high altitude, undetected unless the enemy had some sort of anti-stealth radar, equipped with two heavy bombs each.

Patriotic music blared at every military concentration and soldiers suddenly felt an aura of confidence, of strength, and a will to fight for what was right. Men were taking positions. It soon would be time. The first ever attack on New Genoese territory.

OOC: Since the end of the war: I boosted my spending massively on the navy and have RPed that peaceful time as half a year total. Also, I believe one of my allies sent 1,000 engineers to help me rebuild my fleet. It is stronger than it was before, as is my air force.

Aide knocking on the door, “May I, sir? This is urgent.”

Gordon turns the TV off, very annoyed. “What is it this time?”
“An order from the president to mobilize and prepare for immediate transportation of our forces to New Genoa. Apparently, Melkor Unchained has launched an invasion against our ally.”
“Ah, so Mr. President has finally decided to get serious. Alright then. Send out orders to immediately mobilize Northern and Eastern armies and get those transports ready for departure. Also, make sure we have our air force prepared for take-off. Oh, and one last thing. Have we finished upgrading those F-22Ys of ours?”
“Yes, sir”
“Great, those graveships better be prepared for what is coming. Now, hurry and forward the orders!”

15 minutes later the 75 years old president, Karl The Great publicly announced Gerania’s full support in defending New Genoa.

The pods fly down, and touch down, with the hexapedal and quadrupedal CRWs swarming out of them. With the strange, advanced and insect like units moving across the ground, it looks more like an alien invaision than a military deployment. Thousands of miles away, in bunkers in New Empire, the remote pilots began moving the machines into position.

New Genoese Marines intergrated their positions with Elarian and LF forces. The General inquired an Elarian, "How much manpower you got here? I've got a shitload of troops moving in."

the first battalions of Talimaka and Saint Anger troops arrive at the beach within seconds a smal detachment of soldiers has kitted up and are pushing a small submersibale foreward and towards the Melkor vessels the submerge quickly and are soon on there way underneath the ships.

The CRWs began moving past other nation's forces, scuttling across the coast to set up defensive postion. They begin 'asking' for orders via both conventional and radio communication.

OOC: With the Tilsitsin fleet crushed, and retreating, or should be at least, there are numerous fleets scattered all over Eastern Pantera and the island rings surrounding the mainland, which is the large, easternmost island on the regional map. While I may not be here an awful lot over the next hours, NG and NE can feel free to dictate the movements and actions of my forces, if I'm not available.

IC: The Evenstar has ordered the redeployment of the million some-odd Reavers now defending Pantera's easternmost islands and borders, while some three million Extra Reavers have been called up into active duty to defend the homeland, and thier allies.

Trenches and bunkers have been dug, along with pits fashioned to hide Pantera's new, untested SAt Missiles(Surface to Atmosphere). These giant, conical missile batteries have been under development since the previous Panteran involvement in the coalition attacks, and have been said to be working 'phenominally. Some three-thousand of these batteries have been installed across Pantera, and each has been set a guard of modified AA guns and a contingent of Reavers.

Thousands of Reavers have taken the Rigante Berserker-Vows, and even now the Panteran Death-Legions await the coming enemy, and Valhalla.

The Lord Reaver has made a minimum of comments on this matter, but his message is clear: Pantera was gifted us by the Gods. These fools shall not lay thier unworthy feet upon our soil, or that of our allies.

The night air was much crisper here, out in the middle of nowhere. The men were all suited up... they'd be deploying under the command of the coalition tomorrow morning. Most of them had already called most of their families, although they hadn't been gone long. Amazing thing, to the Commander of the Ground Forces, was how little time it took them to arrive here in fashion, and took over the base they were stationed at now.

The word coming down from Atlantia told the troops to get ready for a hard, but what will be an ultimately successful campaign against the aggressors. The General, however, had read the treaty... and all the events that had procedded it and could not understand why New Genoa just didn't ditch the weapons. He though to himself: "Why can't countries just admit when they are wrong?"... Of course, he could never say that out in the open for fear of being arrested and thrown in front of a treason jury. Some things were a loss... but he was here now, commanding his army, and he would do that to the best of his ability. He wasn't here because of his opinions, he was here because he could keep from sending one hundred and thirty thousand "We regret to inform you..." notes.

The planes hadn't engaged anything in the air in direct combat, although the Roc bombers had dropped a couple in an futile exercise to waste their weapons. The Commanders never repermanded them for it... they needed that quick reflex on the trigger button. Well, not really, the General thought, the GPS signatures and satelite signals on the bomb would detach them from the plane anyhow. It was amazing how technology was making the use of humans in a war to be barbaric. As it stood, most of the aircraft was becoming unmanned... the tanks were following up. War was definately not like it had been once before.

In an hour, AIR PLAN 1 was in effect. The planes would take off again and not come back down until they were on 'E' or they got shot down. It was proven through all military air combat studies that direct dogfighting made Pilot's aircraft more effective. Where had all the challenge go?

Sterling, or Mr. President as he was always called flipped off the television that was currently stationed on the 'live and late-breaking coverage' of the War Against Evil. If being the President has taught him anything, it was that CNN would tell him of any deaths of Pilot forces before his generals could. But he felt better that way. At least being told by a stranger softened the blow a bit. Damnit... he though after reviewing that final though... I know that reporter...

The fleet entered space above New Genoa, the scanners swept the area for enemy crafts. Subotic thought it had been a wise move to move in from the south so that they wouldn’t have to go above enemy territory more than necessary. Far below they could se the city of Southport coming into view. Such a nice little village, Subotic thought They always look so peaceful before you see all the trenches and defense systems As they prepared to engage they took up attack pattern Delta, and the Needles moved away getting a lot of distance to the enemy. Swarms of fighters streamed out from the carriers steering to deliver hot death before the deployment of the troops.

The Admiral scaned the orfers on the sheet. "Com order the Orions, 18 Battlecruisers and the Adra Class Battle ships to fix all turrents and aim North of target zone E5 and south of E6 and make sure they hit enemy targets most importently ground troop positions and missle batteries. Get the scout ships spread out set up, the the 5th Fleet to our flank and send order for the transport to ready their tropps for launch. And get 6 Escort Carriers to launch all thier fighters."

OOC: Veg, there is a massive APTO in space there, plus allies which I'm not so sure about. We've had heavily patrolled supremacy over our region since the Til war began. I believe NE will want to reposition, though.

In the night air, the silence is broken. Thunderous "booms" echo across the front lines of New Genoa. As hundreds of tiny lights, that from the thrusters of SA-43 Hammerheads, enter the atmosphere at mach +3. Streaming out of space...fighter after fighter headed towards New Genoa. As the troops eyes lifted into the sky, the tiny, "dancing" lights appeared to be more abundant than the stars in the night sky. Larger, brighter lights began to appear in all directions of New Genoa...the Fleet has arrived. Just as the dropships came visible, the ISSAPC pods were dropped and out filed the SSF and Infiltrator detachments.

In the background, over the water, SA-48's and 45's begin streaming out of space and began dropping "containers" in the water. As the Allies look on, and those familure with the SA's couldn't help to notice the "change" in the crafts appearance nor it's "role". After several passes of 10-20 fighters each, the dropships (ISSCV), completed their drop and disappeared, as quickly as they arrived, along withh all fighters with one final "sonic" boom.

The rapidly approaching fleet, "flashes" the New Genoa coastline as a different "thunder" becomes louder...that of, 500 KA-50's and AH 1W's. The wave flew overhead and headed to the foward lines, landing in every cornfield, parking lot, and park that they could see. The night was silent once more...

In Space...
As the Fleet arrives from hyperspace, a message is transmitted via "APTO Network". The fleet slows and as it does, the space around the massive ships seem somewhat distorted. Within a blink of an eye...hundreds of fighter and support craft "phase" into visible space and are positioned around the fleet.

Suddenly the fleet that had been engaged with the ShaRa/Zoarg battles arrives from hyperspace , as well as other Elarian Vessels recently built and commisioned from the Elarian Space Station Kebrel to replace those lost in the ShaRa conflict. They arrive directly behind the enemy fleet and the Elarian ships that were already in orbit above New Genoa move to them.

This is Overlord Atrian of the Elarian Imperial Vessel Tiberian. You are in APTO space remove yourself or be destroyed.

300 TIASD fighters drop out of high alltitude and join the Vegana fleet they begin a orbit of the vessels and slowly form in above behind and in between the Vegana vessels.

The allied soldiers form into column with the TIASD personnel, some soldiers getting in to jeeps containing TIASD mixing and swapping to understand each other and get a better knowledge of each others nations.

OOC: It is generally considered bad RPing to state that your missiles have hit such and such a ship or ships without the other person saying so. They can fly towards them all they like but saying they have hit (the last line is what I'm taking it from) is bad play.


The Mumhain Battlegroup begins deploying, the Battleships towards the back, powering up their huge Particle Impactors while the heavier Cruisers powered up their smaller PIs and loaded up Sabre missiles (they're kinetic :D) as well as starting up the String Disrupters (OOC:You're gonna love 'em) for fleet defence. The General was reviewing the operation plans for today, a brisk Sunday afternoon. It had been raining the night before, so the ground was still a bit soggy, but the sun was out in full style so that shouldn't last for much longer. The orders had come down... Pilot ground forces were to entre combat today, and he'd be telling which battalions were off to thier death and which ones got to talk to their families for another day.

Surprisingly, the troop morale was staggering. They had all read the Atlantia Times Tribune today, and all it read about was how many allies had jumped to the side of New Genoa. And it was true. There were an awful lot of allies here to protect the nation. Pilot had one of the smallest forces here, but ultimately one of the most powerful. The General, once again thought to himself, technology could do wonders. Strength was no long in numbers, at least in military combat it wasn't.

He had brisked over the last document and submitted his orders to the Desk Secretary, who would then inform which brigades had to start with their phone calls. The General always wondered what the last thought was before death. He hadn't any family... his wife left him after he joined the Pilot Armed Forces and they never had an children. Only child, whos father and mother both passed away eariler this year. Disappointing... but that's the life of a solider sometimes.

The Admiral was surveying some of the planes from last night's missions... strange, he thought, none of them got hit with anything. I guess that was normal, he thought. Thousands of light mine pods are launched from the Sambizie Fleet, though some torpedoes hit..others bo streaming by into the depths of space. The Inpacts rock various ships and cause minior damage to those who shields have been weakened. Just as soon as the first Vegana torpedo is detected..the fleet opens fire. Full sperads of over 1000 torpedoes and over 2000 Ion cannon, plasma cannon, and laser batteries are cleared for fire.

ENGAGE....The Fighter squadrons cloak and head towards the fleetships. the massive swarms of incomming fighters look as if, sharks on a feeding frenzy...

Rukemia's Emperor, Herasi Jon II pondered his options while sitting at the head of the High Council in a closed door meeting. Two options had been given by the Council on the subject of the New Genoa conflict, the first being to indirectly assist allies sending funds and equipment, the second being to jump in directly and assist the invading allies hands on. There were definate drawbacks with both choices, but the Emperor had to make a decision and it had to be made now. The two debating sides in the High Council had each given their arguments and now the Emperor was deep in thought, hand on his chin with a serious look in his eyes.

Suddenly his concentration was broken when the Overseer of Military Affairs spoke up once again, "Emperor, we must get directly involved, if we don't we risk losing the trust of our allies! What will we do when we are in need of help and our allies look back on the day when we were not there, when we were not fighting, when we didn't commit forces? What shall we do then? We've got 5 carrier groups and 8 troop transports that can be ready for action as soon as possible, I say we get this over with and send them in now!" he banged his fist on the Council table with his last statement, causing a few jumps around the table.

The Overseer's elderly opponent across the table from him began to speak, "Emperor, surely you see the risk in putting our forces out on this kind of battlefield? Why, we could---*BAM*

The old man had been cut off by the bullet gone through his brain, the overseer across the table put his Desert Eagle back in his vest pocket and then turned to the Emperor, "I say we do this and we do it now!"

The Emperor gave a nod and with that the Overseer left the room leaving the rest of the Council startled about what had just happened. With a few quick calls made by the Overseer, orders had been given for the Carrier groups and Transports to move out immediately towards New Genoa. Once they arrived they would move behind allied forces until further orders were given either by Lord Melkor, or the Command Center.

Carriers began luaching their fighters but not as fast as needed. Mean while torpedo and missles crews were working full steam loading the weapons into their launchiers And the anti fighter turrents were charged and manned. And the 100 fighter CAP for each fleet moved in to slow down the enemy fighters.

Thousands of light mine pods are launched from the Sambizie Fleet, though some torpedoes hit..others bo streaming by into the depths of space. The Inpacts rock various ships and cause minior damage to those who shields have been weakened. Just as soon as the first Vegana torpedo is detected..the fleet opens fire. Full sperads of over 1000 torpedoes and over 2000 Ion cannon, plasma cannon, and laser batteries are cleared for fire.


OOC: I haven't fired any torpedoes. The Needles are ships/kinetic missiles with the only purpose to kill off large ships. they would have hit you before you even begun the sentence "incomming" 5 metric tons with that velocity carries a shitload of kinetic damage, enough to destroy a small continent, I imagine they do more than just "rock" your ships if they hit.

IC: Subotic looked as the Kraken broke into one of their Musashi carriers and brought it burning towards the surface. Rods flying by the fleets. In one way he was lucky there was a shitload of other ships around him, making it harder to pick of singular ships. He still saw one saltshaker explode in a cloud of fire. He ordered the bombers to start the covering bombardment of the entrenched troops around southport. As long as they could give his troops the cover they needed before they were shot down.

The fighter engaged the elarian fleet. Running, scramblin, flyin, Rolling, turning, Diving..

A. The space fleet is in Sync with the APTO region...meaning they move along with the earth. If a ship is destroyed...it is HIGHLY unlikely that it will crash on New Genoa, Melkor, or any other nation involved. The ships engines allow for the sync, thus if the ship is destroyed...the Earth will continue to rotate as the ship falls into the atmosphere...agree?

Vegna: I had posted that we were awaiting for signs of your ships being powered up...We would have detected that your ships were ready to launch..and would of fired upon that detection...however, since I was not online...I had no choice but to post a counter rather than a "first-strike".
As with "syncing" ships...If those missiles were not "homing" they would of been launched where the ships "were". I still accepted casualties as a result. Note that there is an extreme ammount of fighters and launching missilesand torpedoes from ships are more than likely to hit fighter craft. Although the weapons aboard the ships are "massive", it is nearly impossible to target a Fighter flying at mach 3..(Can your turrets "swing" at Mach 3?). In any case the free use of "unguided" torpedoes and missiles against the Fleets will pose an equal danger to your own fightercraft...I have yet to see any casualities resulting from such.

Officially, I will only be responding and posting casualities to Vegana...So I have posted my casualities and countered your attack..please post your casualities from my attack.

Maybe it's because I've played a lot of tabletop RPGs, but I tend to think of combat [even FFRP combat such as this] as turn based as in, you take a turn, and I get to take a turn. I'm going to try and think of a way to salvage this story arc now: but I'm not sure I want to RP with people who are going to take advantage of my RL obligations and post excessively in my absence.]

IC: High General Tachi patiently sipped his wine and ate. He had been waiting for quite some time, but there had been little sign of an enemy attack besides the sightings of the magnificient space battle.

Two C-130's, each equipped with a MOAB, flew over the blue ocean, escorted by 25 F-22A Raptors. They had been travelling for some time and where planning to attempt to destroy major portions of the enemy fleet.

The B2 stealth bombers that had already taken off the day before where forced to land to refuel at an undisclosed allied base. Soon they both took off once more soaring stealthily at a high altitude to strike a classified target.

Not areas we scaners show high consintration of cilvilians.OOC: Well, there really aren't any military concentrations there. :P That's why my President or General (can't remember) is frantically trying to arrange a force together to defend that area from a space invasion. Also, many civilians are in 'underground bomb shelter bunkers' which have SAMs and AA batteries atop of them so the destruction of those AA and SAMs would obviously accidently hit civilians. And with attacks near the capital, you can't possibly have tech that precise. But I'll lower civilian casualties if you wish.

Check EDITED post. Only 80 civilians dead.

ooc: no it your call I just wanted to state, for other nations that I was not meaning to kill you civlians on purpose.

OOC.: I kind of agree with Melkor on slowing things down a little bit... for example, I´m not planning to let my troops unload in New Genoa to defend it until tomorrow, even if they leaded into the transport ships today. Vegna: I had posted that we were awaiting for signs of your ships being powered up...We would have detected that your ships were ready to launch..and would of fired upon that detection...however, since I was not online...I had no choice but to post a counter rather than a "first-strike".


Well, you see, the whole idea is that you can't detect any weapons power up. They don't have any... They ARE the weapon. They move into position and then starts accelerating. They don't need to be homing, when they aimed at a target. It won't be able to move more than a few meters before it is struck even if they move at 35 km/sec. And they targeted BIG sjips, they are quite worthless for small ships as their systems are not advanced enough for targeting, they contain one big engine and fuel to go. THat's why I didn't engage your ships with any of mine, I don't want to get any of my ships in the "line of fire", therefore I only opened up with guns without engaging you. And struck first =)


Officially, I will only be responding and posting casualities to Vegana...So I have posted my casualities and countered your attack..please post your casualities from my attack.

[ooc: okay, everyone repost their FIRST attack on the Imperium or its gravships, and I will respond. From now on, dont post a new one till I respond to the first. I will likewise initiate my attack on New Genoa. >Ahem<]

All across the Imperium, the signal went up to load kinetic missile bays to commence the bombardment of New Genoa. Hundreds of silos across the country were loaded and prepped, until the order was finally given to clear all kinetic missile bays. 150 kinetic missiles shot into the air, slingshotting around the earth as they built up their tremendous speed, finally slamming a short while later into various New Genoan military positions on the mainland. Targetted were airfields and power stations in the northern quadrant of the country. Hit especially hard were blaine island and Genoa island.

Meanwhile, the gravship fleets continued their grim advance, continuing to rain artilley indescriminantly on nearby enemy naval assets, as they approached New Genoa from the southeast. Missile launchers were loaded, and 5 waves of 50 AS-6 anti-ship missiles skimmed over the ocean at [whoever's fleet is closest]'s navy, launched some 90 seconds apart, in addition to the thousands of gauss and rail driver shells already unleashed on them.

In the South East of New-Genoa, the Armadas of Grunge-France, lead by Commodore Lou Gonzo.

OOC: Ok even though Im sick Im going to try and do some of this. Heres a reposting of my attacks Melkor.

IC:

Missile silos in Elara open up and White Wolf Missiles fire in shades of crimson and sunburst yellow. 50 at the gravships , 20 at the Sky Furnace , 70 all together. At the same time the Elarian Fleet was bombarding the gravships , the frigates began firing Derisar Fragmentation Missiles and the Detroyers fired Tracker Missiles as the rest of the fleet fired Plasma Torpedoes and various other standard Elarian weaponry. 400 Gentari Fighters that had been patrolling the area since the begining of the war now unleash their own hell on the gravships. The 5000 Tor'Veth open fire with Plasma Cannons and TV Anti Armor/Anti Air missiles.

OOC: Just assume my ships have already moved into position, some 100 odd miles behind your gravships.

IC:

The Rukemian fleet floated idly in the quiet seas, the ships' newly added kinetic missile pods as well as fletchette cannons shown proudly on the decks, their first use in battle would be coming soon, but how soon nobody knew. The fleet commander still awaited any further orders from Lord Melkor.

The young sailors aboard the ships knew that a battle was most likely raging on ahead of them but until any more orders were recieved they would be left floating in an uneasy silence, thinking deeply about the tasks that lay ahead of them.

Private Jacques Kiroto turned around as he saw several missiles come raining down. "Incoming!" Thunderous blasts lit up the area. Repeated shouts were throughout the bases as men cried for AA to attempt to take out the missiles. Several Patriots took to the air, but failed to stop the missiles in their tracks, while fighters attempted to sacrifice themselves to save the ground forces, to no avail. More slammed into the surface and other military buildings creating large explosions throwing debree and men into the air.

The electricity blacked out all across Genoa Island and close to 47 aircraft were destroyed (most aircraft were already in the skies and there is very little aerial presence there anyways) and one airfield was dismantled. Blaine Island had a stronger Edolian presence and casualties are unknown.

Reports came flooding in to High General Tachi's command post. "Forty-seven aircraft, total power outage on Genoa Island, three-thousand.." Tachi sighed.

"Are the B2's in range?" he asked once more.

"Nearly. ETA is about 10 hours. They won't be launching anymore missile strikes when those bunker busting bombs rain down on their silos," responded the aide.

"Agreed, sir."

"Mobilize the C-130 attack. Deploy more fighters to attack as air cover for the C-130's. Drop the MOABs on main battleships."

"Yessir."

The two massive C-130's lumbered over the darkened night sky as night crept in. Each modified 'cargo' plane had been armed with two 21,500 MOABs and two 25mm cannons. The crews of both planes were nervous and all that was heard was the rumbling of the giant engine and the fighter craft nearby, escorting the C-130's and their little surprise. Over 150 F-22A stealth fighter craft had gathered over the journey of C-130's and now soared towards the enemy, equipped with eight air-to-air missiles apiece.

"Captain, when will we be arriving?"

"About thirty minutes. Prepare the men to man the cannons and open the bomb bays."

"Yes, I will immediately."

Each carrier group consists of:

7 Ticonderoga-Class Aegis Cruisers
2 Nimitz Class Carriers
7 Arleigh Burke- Class Aegis Destroyers
6 Oliver Hazzard Perry- Class Frigates

Each troop transport carries 2,000 troops each and are lightly armed with fletchette cannons and missile pods.

1200 missiles from each of the fighters (four missiles each) are fired they scream towards the Sambizie fleet yet to pass the Vegana fleet, at the last minute each missile drops down onto the intended targets...the Vegana engines.

The fighters quickly follow over firing cannon onto shield generators, engines, and known weak spots (due to the fact I am an 'ally' in The Reich before the Veganan's knew what was happening the fighters had passed the fleet heading over the top of Sambize to relative safety behind the Sambizie strength.



(ooc - perhaps a small AA salvo was launched from the frontal ships as that would be more usual of a good millitary fleet, RP if so and I wil colaborate damages sufficent for such agile fighters)

ooc: Before I post IC Let me say you yo a a good rper. I hate to do this but my carriers were behind the other 50 some odd remaning cap ships. By shear numbers you would not have mad it. See early on in this tread i posted for all my carriers to get into the center of the formation. Andwith the arrivle of the 16th fleet the carriers wer e in a boxish formation But I will allow you if you want to target a battleship that was ahead of my Carriers.

The 10 troop cruisers manuvered behind the fleet, each with 5000 troops loaded into 100 TL-9 Heavy Dropships. They waited for orders. A soldier, looking at the large screen HD monitors (To keep the soldiers sane during the long periods they spend without being able to look outside), noticed the island of New Genoa.
It looks fine from space, but god knows what's happening down there.

if you read carefully, it will say that HyStrike is a kinetics missile. Hint hint.]

The Capitan did not see the Carriers coming throught the mass amount of laser fire. The Carriers hit her 15 degrees of her port bow. This crushed the forward 1/4 of the ship. Which caused massive explosion and power failure. The crew had little time to evac as the Ion power core blew second later.

"Man the cannons!" shouted the Captain. Men rushed to man the two 25mm cannons spraying heavy machine gun fire upon the enemy. The F-22A stealth fighters began to break off and prepare to engage any gunship or fighter escorts.

"Bombs to be dropped. ETA five minutes. Give 'em hell."

ok, since I can't find Melkor's respnce to my attacks, (assuming he did) I will do so agian

Garrand snorted as Glaurung--the Imperium's resident second generation Automated Intelligence system--cooly reported in:

"Seven hundred plus missiles inbound from Grunge France Naval fleets. Gunship escort rotating PD pylons out and moving to the fore."

Garrand nodded and signalled to his comms officer. "Open a channel to all vessels." A second or so later, his comms officer gave Garrand the signal.

"Channel is open sir, proceed."

Garrand took up his microphone and barked: "All crews prepare for impact! PD vessels spread out front to back and prepare for missile strike. All ships, evasive maneuvers!"

A wave of EMP blasts streamed out from the gravship fleets as they endeavored to stop the missiles. Most of them were stopped by the collective PD systems of half of Melkor's gravship armadas. Those that got through slammed into the thick foreward facing armor of the formation, causing nominal damage, mostly to fore-facing AA emplacements and various other weapons systems. Crew casualties were estimated in the low hundreds, but the full extent of damage would not be known until repair crews and medical staff arrive on the scene.

The gravship fleets fired back. 250 more AS-6 anti ship missiles were launched in tandem with another round of heavy gauss and rail driver shelling, much the same fashion as before, only this time the missiles were one and all aimed at enemy carriers. The fleets turned slightly to the North, moving parallel to New Genoa's eastern shore some 700km off. They knew in order to reach their landing site, they'd have to either decimate Grunge France's fleets or beat them back. A number of gunships slid beneath the waves and sped off towards their enemy.

"Captain, we're within range."

"Engage." The C-130s were now minutes away from the Melkorian fleet, each carrying two deadly MOABs.

IC: "There are the bastards! Engage my fellow New Genoans!" The F-22s were now speeding as they spread out to assault the gravfleet's gunship escorts.

The C-130's lumbered closer and 25mm cannon fire as thick as rain poured onto the enemy. "Prepare to unleash the MOABs." The C-130's were planning on assaulting the enemy's Sky Furnace and any other large ship in the proximity. F-22's were to distract fighters and gunship escorts while the C-130's moved to attack their intended target. Close to 40 F-22s stayed near the two slow-moving targets while the remaining 110 broke off to engage the enemy. Each was equipped with eight air-to-air missiles.

Meanwhile the Navy's 1st and 2nd Fleets moved slowly foreward to defend the homeland and engage the enemy. They waited behind a thick patch of hundreds EMP mines. Fighters had already been gassed an pilots leapt into the cockpits, and took off, one by one. Since there were two fleets, that meant there were 510 aircraft, a mighty number. Submarines submerged, and using several maps, manuevered their way through the minefields, waiting to torpedo any enemy ship that came close.

But before I can adequately respond, I need to know numbers, both from you and New Genoa. Bearing in mind that my gravship formation is probably a few miles long, and close to a mile high, with important ships [sky furnaces and such] in the middle, surrounded by AA frigates. I dount any c-130s are going to get through the fighter screen alone, much less the dozens of AA frigates surrounding my prized ships.]

my fleet specs are in the OOC thread. I'm just attempting to distrupt your lines, not realy take down your big ships. (and these people are veterens, they know how to fly and evade)

as for my MSV. it fires a leathle blast of UV rays at any intended target. I have direced this at your ground forces

OOC: Remember, I have 150 F-22 stealth fighters. Some of the very best. Hell, if we don't reach the Sky Furnace we'll drop them on the next biggest ship(s). Considering MOABs weigh 21,500 pounds, they can probably take out a helluva lot of smaller ships if we used them against smaller ones.

The 10 b-2s are instantly fired upon by insane amounts of SAM fire from the uppermost frigates and battleships. Most of the ordinance falls harmlessly on the thick metal hulls of the gravship fleet's cruisers and frigates, thousgh a number of crewmen were killed. None of the bombs make it to the Sky Furnaces, as they're in the middle of the formation, under heavy escort.

[ooc: ahh, another attack that assumes I do nothing until youre right on top of me. Oh well, I dont imagine you'd even be able to clear your bays before you get eviscerated by fighters and various AA emplacements...also, what exactly are MOAB's? will edit once I find out.]

yeah your right... :( no moab planes could get through though the B-2s... i think those would slip through and hurt some stuff.
and my space fleet(minus15 dreadnoughts) opens up with a huge ortillary strike on the grav ships from the atsmosphere. after all the b2s drop their cluster napalm bombs, they are destroyed by the huge ortillery bombardment on the gravships.

Another volley was launched against the Grunge France armada [same as before, targetting what's left of your carriers, or next largest ships] as fighters wheeled about in Mortal Combat with Atlantian Outcast's fighters . AA cannon fire filled the air as the massive gravship column continued its grim advance, now moving to the northwest, in beween New Genoa and Genoa Island.

Flak filled the sky as the lumbering c-130's tried to reach a drop vector. a spare squadron of [i]Ravens were dispatched to deal with the monstrosities, making short work of them with particle cannon fire aimed at the engines.

Another kinteic missile barrage cleared silos in the Imperium, aimed at any Northern New Genoan airfields they may have missed before, again targetting Blaine island and Genoa Island in particular.

Meanwhile in orbit the 16th fleet begin to switch their targets. Now they aimed for military tagets On Blaine Island.

F-22s raced to intercept the Ravens unleashing deadly AIM-120C AAMs as the enemy fighters charged. The C-130s lumbered on firing 25mm fire as enemy fire rocked the large planes.

"Rear door open! Let 'em fly!" Two MOABs rolled out of the first C-130 striking what appeared to be a frigate. The explosion was massive. Reports of enemy losses are unknown, but an attack of that size would certianly kill off a large portion of ships.

The other C-130 took heavy fire and the right wing exploded sending the plane down, one more MOAB had already fallen, the other crashed into the waters creating yet another remarkable explosion, large enough to vaporize a considerable number of enemy vessels.

Kinetic energy rounds rain down on the Edolian forces on Blaine Island. 167 soldiers and eight A-2 Manticore tanks are destroyed and a number of command stations are damaged. However, Edolian command structures and forces are spread out enough that it wouldn't do too much damage.

The Edolian Imperial Air Force begins taking off from locations throughout New Genoa and begins moving en route to the Melkor fleet:

As the air force gets within four hundred kilometers from the Melkor fleet, 1,800 EPX-400 long range air to air missiles are launched, targeting enemy fighters. At 300 kilometers, another 1,800 are launched.

The Phoenixes and Rocs are now 250 kilometers from the Melkor fleet and closing...

And with a Frightening economy, that equated to eight Arsenal Ships, each with around twelve THOUSAND TASMs (Tomahawk Anti Ship Missiles) each. In addition, ten Ohio SSGN conversions each carry 154 TASMs, but where did they go? Flanking the enemy Fleet?

And within mere additional moments, Tomahawk missiles streak into the air as the Arsenal Ships launch. One thousand, two thousand, all the way up to eight thousand TASMs streak towards the Melkor Fleet.

And there are still ninety six thousand TASMs to go......

Alarms buzzed and red lights flickered as SAM batteries skyrocketed into the air and fighters streamed towards the enemy. Fighters would explode from the pressure while others survived. "Engage!" It was nearly useless.

MOABs slammed into the historic (New Rome was built by the Romans) and magnificient cities exploded and were engulfed by giant fireballs. It was all over. The main portion of the military was immediately vaporized along with 75 million New Genoans. The sheer shock of the attack would render any surviving forces in the west useless. The end was here.

The gravship colum pressed on towards Blaine Island, under attack from above. Ortillery rounds cut clean through several frigates, heavily damaging a few, and sending a few more plowing headlong into the waves. Also affected were 8 Battleships, 5 Cruisers, and 2 Air Destroyers, with one of the Sky Furnaces reporting moderate damage.

The return volley came not from the gravships, but rather from the Imperium itself, thousands of enormous rail drivers throwing shells screaming into the air at the enemy ortillery platforms, coupled with 3 waves of kinetic missile strikes [450 total] aimed at other space-borne assets.

The Fleets turned their attention now to the 150 F-22's that were trying to pierce the massive fighter screen around the fleets. AA fire slows down as the Raven escorts deploy missile countermeasures, and start to swarm the enemy fighters.

[500 Ravens in the air, are attacking in waves of about 36 fighters each, so as to avoid sticking a heat-seeker up a friendly's tailpipe. ]

NATO officially puts Abu-Dhabi-Kristatata on the Blacklist. Such disgusting actions will be condemned, and the Rogue Nation will be placed on close surveilance. All ties with said nation will be severed, and a trade ban will be placed on this nation.

NATO will seek reparations be payed for this action by Abu-Dhabi-Kristatata and a reconstruction of the country to begin.

I might note that 8 MOABs (which I recall is a several KT payload equivalent) and 120 tons of napalm dropped on cities aren't going to destroy a nation; following it up with crude (nonaerodynamic) ortillery bombardment through a raging space battle is merely going to inflict some more rather random destruction in isolated positions. Massive civilan loss (1-50 million) would be appropriate, but NG would hardly be annihilated.

Sorry to burst your obsessive bubble of "AIEE HE USED ORTILLERY NG IS DEAD!" but it's only realistic. Countries have a great deal of area, and a nontoxic bombardment may stirr up lots of dust and smoke, but won't annihilate the whole country.


New Genoa ain't that big of an island.

It doesn't have to be. A MOAB has a blast radius of, oh, maybe 1,000' or so... push that on the generous side and assume a square mile is destroyed by each one. Ho hum... wow, that leaves us with 8 square miles gone. 120 tons of napalm will have more of an effect in general... let's assume that each ton of napalm mission-kills a quarter of a square mile. That's assuming one pound sets on fire a square 60' on each side... 68 square miles so far of raw destruction.

Now, on ortillery... let's say he's dropping a hundred 1 ton bricks from each ship. Because these appear to be just blocks of iron/lead, that's maybe .5KT load and a very generously assumed blast radius of around 300' - 1/6 square mile each, for a total of 50 more square miles of devastation, this not too well aimed. Grand total? 118 square miles - assuming no overlap and very generous destruction estimates. By comparison, Honshu - the main island of Japan - is 89,000 square miles, and I don't think NG is all that much smaller or more urbanized than Japan, which would still be very much up and kicking after an attack like that.

Of course, if NG wants to decide that the attack still killed him, that's his perogative. I'm only going to poke around and argue so much, so do go on with the show. Oh, everybody do everybody else a favor and direct further argument on this to the OOC thread (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=71210), wouldja?

A star Spear glided out from above, firing away at the Elarian fleet.

On MOABs: In case anyone isn't clear, these are big, conventional bombs that, as they utilise tritonal explosives, can dish out some SERIOUS damage. "MOAB" stands for Massive Ordanance Blast bomb, or, unoffically, the Mother Of All Bombs.

They are not, as some morons seem to think, as strong as the lesser nuclear devices, but they do make nice-looking mushroom clouds when they go off. They pack 18,000 pounds of the afore-mentioned tritonal explosives, worth something like 21,000 pounds of explosive goodness in standard terms

It's not likely that even a Sky Furnace could keep on going after taking a direct hit, because even if vital areas were not hit the ship would be so compromised that it would most likely ditch or crash land & be in need of some emergency repairs, despite all that armour.

However, the things have to be physically shoved out off the back of huge-ass cargo planes by a few musclebound guys, & you'd have a real hard time getting one of those lumbering bastards past Melkor's aerospace Ravens.

The question is, what sort of time-frame are we talking about here? I would imagine that a lot of my planes would have been in the air on patrol duty, rotating around when the kinetic rounds hit. But a good portion would have been on the ground and probably would have gotten screwed up. You only launched 150 KE rounds, correct? And most of those weren't targeted at airfields if I remember right. So, damage would be significant but not huge. Also, since I don't think that all this posting is taking place over a long period of time, when the KE strike happened, my fighters would have been beginning to take off. We can't take advantage of OOC obligations, right? ;) New air numbers:

IN THE ARMADAS

Fortunatelly, the waves the melkorian fleet launched at us were visuallized in the ADWR Systems of the ships (ADWR: Air Disrupting Waves Radar, wich is based on the knowlededge of the air flows and air movements and a sensitive radar system that can detect the minnimu chage in the air and its movement) and, unlike the first suprise attack, the Commodore, Lou Gonzo, managed, by deploying the "Manzarek M-10" Missiles (Match 10 and 10 kilometers p/h) the Manzarek missiles managed to destroy most of the missiles, and those who made impact, destroyed one of the transports, causing more than 500 deaths and 400 injuries, also the Battle Carrier "Pelagiad" was hit, causing 40 deaths on board, and neutralizing the defensive systems of the carrier, 30 Jets in the carriers were also destroyed.
there were other 20 ships, including the Battle Carrier "Ur an Ass" with medium damages.

Silently, the fleet awoke.

Noises meant nothing in the early hours of the dark morning.

The radio blared. Orders arrived.

"Set course for New Genoa at once. Other ships will arrive as soon as possible. First Battle Group is the only direct deploy asset in range at this time. Your orders are to support the Alliance to the best of your ability."

The Admiral read the message and smiled. It would take just over a day to reach effective combat range of New Genoan waters.

The 16 ships and 2 submarines wheeled about. The Confederacy was going to war.

These ships were joined by 36 more launched from ports in Lost Americans. They would arrive the day after the first battle group.

But the fighters could launch now. And launch they did. They sped towards New Genoa at their highest acceleration, bouncing out of the atmosphere for a moment and dropping back down. They became streaks of fire over New Genoa as they reentered the atmosphere, friction setting their drive fields alight with flame.

Death rained like water from the skies.

It would only be moments to the Initial Point. Then they would fire.

just a reveiw of what I have done and what Melkor still has to respond to:

ooc: melkor, youre a trash mod. you really do bend the rules in your favor, and basically you have a ton of explaining to do.

ic: while it is not the largest force ever assembled, it will do what it can, the trailer park region is now mobilizing for war against melkor. The entire trailer park space fleet (320 Large cruisers each equipped with 8 squadrons of smaller fighters and 560 medium and small cruisers each equipped with 4 and 2 squadrons respectively) are preparing to mobilize. Each large cruiser comes equipped with 60 pulse turrets, 10 medium (15 mm) rail guns, and 5 large (40 mm) rail guns. The medium and small cruisers have 1/2 and 1/4 (round up) of the artillery respectively. The small cruisers have two large rail guns instead of 1.25. I am allowing imitora to control this fleet in an effort to aid the allied powers, becuase surely he'll know what to do with this.

The gunship, small and insignificant, sat on the perimeter of the fleet.

The 2 railgun bolts smashed through the gunship, sending it flying into a Shrike Corvette. The explosion sent the wreckage backward as it snowballed into another 4 gunships that tried to escape. Other ships, protected by magnetic shielding, suffered moderate damage to the hull.
The pilot of a defender gaped as a slew of debris and bodies floated by his window. However, there was one advantage to all this wreckage. It blocked many of the railgun shots, saving the other, smaller ships.

The Heavy dropships latched onto the spinning passenger section of the troop transports as the soldiers inside boarded. Heavy, bulky pods were latched onto the wings and fuselage of the transports as they sped toward the Earth. Suddenly, they burst open, showering the space around them with debris, enough to give even the most advanced intelligence computer a major headache.

The aircraft was stocked. All one-hundred with bunker buster bombs, capable of pentrating Melkor's Gravships enough to cause major damage. All the pilot's had been briefed in of what they would be after in this mission. Undoubtably the largest in scale since Pilot forces had arrived on the shores of New Genoa... actually, the General though, it had to be the most massive single airstrike against Melkor's Gravships [By the way, OOC note: Gravships are godmodding in the truest sense of the term, with that said...] since the war began. Surely it would put just as massive of a dent in the quanities of such ships in the air... the ones that had skimmed the Pilot Ground Force Base a couple dozen miles to the west with missiles strikes. A couple of soliders had been wounded, but the strategic placement as well as the 'out-of-the-way' station of Pilot's military bases in New Genoa had obviously been problematic for the people on Melkor's forces to pinpoint.

The fuel pumps were withdrawn from the plane, and the echo of the doors swinging open that allowed the aviators to come out of their quarters. They had quite a mission in front of them. Thirty-two in total... the rest of the aircraft was unmanned. Those aircraft that were unmanned, however, were much more likely to come back after the sortie was flown than the ones with pilots. Something about a computer's split-second reaction and a human's subpar relexes made aircraft without a living being in it so much more valuable... and much less costly in the long run. The General got a small grin across his face, partly from seeing his men with such high morale and the radiance of pride they had coming to defend the country from a foriegn aggressor... the other was that his nation would soon have a ninety-five percent unmanned air force and ground force soon. Those goddamn letters took a long time to personalize.

All the aviators got into their planes, and began the pre-mission flight checks. It only took about ten minutes before all the planes were ready. A air strip, labeled one through one-hundred, with all it's space filled up by aricraft. One by one, the engines gunned and lightmen removed themselves from the path of each. It was only three minutes then, and all had taken off. Only time would tell the if the massive, single strike against Melkor's Gravships would be successful.

With that, The General headed off to the communications room to monitor all the pilot's as the caressed through the air to cause whatever destruction they could. It was funny... destruction and war to create peace.

[ OOC: Just so that we are all clear, this post is about me launching one hundred planes, all of whom are on a direct path to cause as much destruction to Melkor's Gravshp fleets as they possibly can. Do not underestimate these aircraft, each of the bunker buster planes carry thirty-six blasts. ]

OOC: You can't go scattering MOABs around like gumdrops in such an obscene manner. It's just absurd.

& gravfleets are more or less okay in RPing terms, until they start intervening in land battles in any form other than as long-range artillery. It's at the point when you find yourself facing ninety of them in a pitched land battle that you find having your armoured divisions torn apart by floating battleships from thousands of feet up somewhat irritating & ludicrous.

But that'd be something more likely to come from Menelmacar than Melkor, who uses them in the more or less purely naval capacity that they should be.
