This is a Special new bulliten bought to you by LTV!!!!

"Geogre Advent, First Dictator of Lindni passed away this morning, the news was broken by his son Jack Advent outside there lavish palace in the capital Candina.
It is assumed he died of natural causes, but no further details have been realeased, with this news soon spearding across the nations it was met with mixed feelings, some joyed that the regime has finally ended, some mainly the higher classes mourned his death.

Some cities called this a great time to establish a respectful Democracy, others called for Jack to continue the Dictatorship, and this does beg the question. Is Lindni on the verge of civil war?

Some cities are already expecting War and panic buying has begun in local supermarkets and stores, some have even gone as far as declaring there support for democracy or Dictatorship.

Such as the Nations second city Ankh, support the fact the Lindni should be a democracy. But it is expected that the capital city would 'support' the Dictatorship, With little Liberty in Lindni for 52 years and people seeing there chance for freedom. The battle for Lindni is hotting up...

ooc: In the future of this rp, if there is any i will need a nation to roleplay the Dictatorship army, as i will play the Democractic army...

"In the name of peace and regional security, the great nation of Tilsitsin wishes to formally announce to the international community that it does not wish to see hostilities open in the nation of Lindni. Furthermore, we are dispatching a naval battlegroup to the area for the purpose of monitoring the situation in this country. The Tilsitsinian government will await further developments however before making any formal military commitments."

we wish to see a democracy started in the country. If that means that we need to supply weapons to Pro-democracy people to fight for their freedom against oppression so be it.

The purpose of this fleet is to provide the Tilsitsinian government with a military force package capable of rapid and decisive intervention, should it be required. As of now, we have no plans to land troops or make any solid commitment to Lindni. The Tilsitsinian government will await further developments and it is hoped that the mere presence of Tilsitsinian forces will discourage open hostilities.

We do agree that it would be preferable that democracy take root in the country, but we are not willing to commit any forces or material support in haste. Our recent 'quick' commitment to democracy in Forrest Sherman cost Tilsitsin nearly 7,000 lives. We will await developments and hope that democracy is able to take root without the violence or bloodshed caused by war.

"What the hell! The port city of Ankh has declared support for Democracy!" Jack Bellowed, as he and his advisors discussed a course of action in a bunker bellow Lani.

"Commander sir, it is not what the people want, it is what they get that matters" A high ranking general muttered,

Jack paced up and down nervously, and set his eyes on the map of lindni.

"So what troops, resources, towns do we hold!"He shouted slamming his hands on the table.

"Of course sir, you have full support of my 2nd infantry division, consisting of just under 150,000 men, how many of them have defunct to the Democractic side i do not know, i would say roughly 90,000 remain faithful to us... This is not including allies we may find so maybe more, you have my full mechanised force of 700 Challenger II tanks, around 2,000 Infantry support and transport warthogs" Command in chief of Infantry and mech 1 st division talked confidently.

"Ah but weapons, Ankh held most of our An'94's, we have no weapons to ifght with!" Jack cried obivously paranoid

"Calm down sir, we have plenty of munitions, everyman will have an an-94, we have mortars, Sniper rifles, Anti tank missles, Portable Sams And Rpg's. Which may i remind you our opposition do not, they may outnumber us, but they do not outskill us."

"Ok, ok....We journey back to Candina, we have nearly 100% support there and from surrounding towns and villages, we call up everyman and woman to service and defend this 50 mile radius at first, then if we are somehow beaten, this 30m mile radius here, then the 10, then the 5, Then..." The generals looked at each other

"We make our last stand in the city walls" He finished, The Generals shook hands and headed to there respective transports...

IC:
McLeod03 sends in a medical supply unit from the 1st Medical Corps, specialising in disaster recovery, who will help civilians wounded in the upcoming conflict.

Unit consists of:

10,000 trained medics, 10 Field Hospital Units (Largeer versions of M.A.S.H units), 400 Humvee Ambulance, 40 Medevac Helicopters (FH-60 Blackhawks).

Also assigned will be a small unit of 2,000 men armed with sidearms to act as gaurds for the medics.

Supplies will consist of food, fresh water, clothing, tents, generators, lighting, water purification units, and anything our charity organisations can provide. These will be distributed by the medics as soon as war commences.

We will do our best to ensure that these supplies do not fall into the hands of any soldiers, regardless of side. They are meant purely for the civilian population. We take neither side in the dispute, and care only for the god of the civilians.

No offence is meant to Mr Certa, but to allow your troops access to these supplies whilst stopping your enemy from doing so would be taking sides.

As such, aid will be refused to any man bearing arms, unless it can be proven it is for the defence of his family alone, and is not destined for use in aggressive acts.

Each will be used a supply depot, and could, in an emergency, be used as a refugee camp (i.e., if any civilians leave cities, they can come to the FHUs and be protected by McLeodian soldiers.

Once the FHUs are established, supplies will be distributed with priority given to the worst affected areas of the country.

Onboard the Admiral James, several Is-39s began to take off on fleet patrols, awaiting further orders.

A flight of two Is-39s led by Captain John Taylor turn to starboard as they approach the coast of Lindni at just over 300 feet. Taylor's wingman, 1LT Thomas Simon, radios him over the com channel.

"Whoa chief.. I've got bogies, looks like multiple contacts.. Not sure what they are, but they're approaching a known rebel city."

"I've got em.. Come left 230, angels five-one.." The captain knew they had strict orders not to engage any targets, but he would risk getting in closer to take a look.

"Tilsitsin control this is Bravo-Five-Niner.. Request permission to enter Lindni airspace.. Possible bogies attempting assault on civilian center, and we want to identify."

The comm channel was silent for a few seconds before the metallic voice came over the air. "Roger Bravo-Five-Niner, permission granted.. Proceed on current course.. ROE applies." "Roger Jack Six. Five-Niner out."

A camera stands centered on a podium in the middle of a large conference hall. Behind the podium is a long bright red carpet, leading down a narrow hall. Over the noise of the reporters and dignitaries in the hall, we finally hear a voice as the premier walks to the podium to be greeted by hundreds of camera flashes.

"Ladies and gentlemen.. The Premier of Tilsitsin.."

"My fellow Tilsitsinians.. I come to you to announce that today I have formally authorized the use of the Tilsitsinian military in the support of pro-democracy forces of Lindni.

I feel it is our duty to support these people in their bid for freedom, and as such at this moment our troops will be going into Lindni in order to ensure that democracy takes root in this country. Thank you very much."

With this, the premier left. No questions were taken, and no insight was yet given as to the exact role or size of forces from Tilsitsin that were to be involved..

And i want all bridges outside that radius blown, we need to slow down there advance. Seeing they are attacking i would guess they have limited logistics no?" He questioned

"Yes most probaably sir"The same intel officer spoke tired from what was probably little sleep over the last couple of days.

"Good, if we slow down there advance succifiently, they food supplyies and fuel will run low....meaning they qwill have to return to ankh for more supplies, or have to stall to wait for supplyies to arrive which gives us the chance to strike with the remainder of our air force" Jack finished

"Ok sir, I'll call the troops into a tighter circle, and blow every major bridge" The commander in chief of 1st Infantry and mech commented

REBELS

"Whats the situation with the two ports?" Mr Certa questioned in his makeshift office.

"The fire is uncontrolable We're having to knock down People's houses to try and stop it from spreading, Mcleoud and our protrolling guards tryed to evacuate the city, but unlucky the Bombers concentrated on the ports"

"How many dead?"

"All the workers in the docks most probably, but it could grow if the fire spreads anymore, our fire services are trying there best, but we may have to knock down a sizeable part of our city to stop the spread.."

LTV NEWS BULLETIN

In an amazing twist today, the large town of Hnazi located 20 Miles Southeast has turned from supporting the rebels and has turned Loyalist.

It is shock news for the Loyalist troops who were expecting to use the town as a base of operations for bombing raids on The capital, many outside factors are expected for this move, some rumors even suggest that the infamous Specops group Enema may have 'influenced' the change, espically when local democratic leader Darren Davis Disappeared from his home yesterday.

25,000 troops stationed there have swapped side's, could this be a glimmer of hope for Loyalist forces?

Lindni, is not an island it is landlocked to the north east and west, in the south there is a sea Where the city of Ankh is located.

Ankh is Lindni's second city and is the only port city, were your troops have landed just eeast to due to my bombers blowing both ports.

80 Miles North is The Capital city Candina, which is the main Dictator hotspot, Southeast of the capital at 25 miles is Hnazi which has just turned dictator due to an expected Spec ops assaisnation of the demorcratic leader.

And in the exetreme north is Lani hometown of The deaceased dictator..

Tilsitsin Foreign Ministry Dispatch to All Pro-Democracy Supporting Nations:

Tilsitsin military advisors are noting that the situation in Lindni is growing more complicated by the minute as the allies race to gain a foothold on Lindni soil in order to support the fledgling pro-democracy movement there. As the number of allied troops in country rises and the number of participating nations also increases, we find it necessary to appoint an overall commander to coordinate allied forces in the country and ensure the smooth passage of operations.

To this end, we recommend that an officer from Watertest assume overall command of allied forces, being that they are the single largest contributor of troops among the allies.

We will await responses and input from the other allied nations concerning this.

United States forces have established a firm hold on the town of Arculo. A small helicopter landing area was found just west of the Town and we are using that for AH-64 Gunships and UH-60 Blackhawks which are ferrying in supplies to supplement those coming off the beaches. Patriot Missile Launchers have been set up at the beach and in the town while F14s continue to fly air-cover missions. As yet there has been no contact with the enemy.

Loyalist forces

"So, my friends and brothers, what is the situation on day 3?" Jack commented fresh from his and theres full night of sleep in several days.

"Spec op group Enema, have reached there destination and are infiltrating there objective as we speak, our international airport 60 miles south of hear, the Allies are useing it as a Millitary airbase"

"What objectives did you give them?"

"Destroy as much Millitary aerospace as possible and there primary target is to destroy Communications in the radar tower and such"

"Ok as you may know i purshased forty Mlrs's of course they are under your control, and i trust you to deploy them well" Jack spoke to commander of 1st infantry and mech.

"Of course sir, is it possible you could also search for some longer range misslies from our allies" He replyed

"I'll see"Jack replyed calmly

Somewhere outside Advent nation airport.

"Right guys, this is it we could turn the war if this is sucessful" The leader of Enema a highly trained soldier, on his Kevlar vest were several grenades and a couple of C-4 on his back, he then continued

"Right my squad Alpha will storm the Radar tower, defenses should be minimal as i doubt they would of secured perimiters and such yet, Bravo you remain here making sure no enemy get in behind us, we will then plant a few c-4 just to make sure to fuck it up for sure" He finished sipping some of his water canteen

"Then we make our way to the to the northern most hanger" He commanded pointing to a large hanger on the far side of the airfield were a small light was shining from.

"For now we wait until sundown.."

Sergeant Samuel Vimes hefted his rifle over the edge of the rooftop, and using a flash-screened pair of binoculars, he checkd out the target area.

Below him was a podium, set up in a market square in Candina, surrounded by banners and Loyalist propaganda.

His target was an elderly man, in his late 50 or early 60s, who walked with a slight limp, had a neatly trimmed moustache, and looked almost ex-military.

THe man stepped up onto the podium and began his speech about the war, and about how support for the loyalists was growing, and how they would soon crush the foreign powers working against them. Vimes smiled as he lifted his rifle to his cheek, and uncovoered the scope.

He sighted in the range and wind-variation then set the cross-hairs just between the mans eyes. Here, the bullet would enter the lower region of the brain before severing the spinal cord, causing instant death.

The distance was closer than most snipers preferred, about 400 yards. The bodyguards who had undoubtedly been paid a lot to protect the man were too far away.

Vimes took a deep breath, held it, and squeezed the trigger gently.

BANG!

The elderlyman fell in the ground dead, the crowds dispersed quickly and the guards climbed onto there warthogs to escape.
One of the guards who stayed behind to check on the man, there was an exit wound on the back of his neck. The sniper was obivously due east, when one of his men shouted

"There on the hotel roof!"

The guard who whent to tend to the leader, pulled out his radio

"We need airsupport, a suspected assasin in the northeast residential area by the Midsommer motel!"

"Ok this is Garrision, we're sending out a Cobra to protrol the area"

The guard took control of his men," Chris, Jones Go around the back, Harrision come with me to clear the lobby"

The armed protrol guards slowly cleared the building..

"FUCK" The leader of the guard swore, he dashed to a nearby warthog and climbed on the back and manned the 50 Cal. He fired a few round off at the distancing car.

He looked around desparately looking for a driver

"Hey you!, get in a drive!"He bellowed at a random protrolling guard.

"Ye sir!"He saluted and started up the engine of the warthog giving chase to the black vechicle ahead.

The sun had gone down on Day 3 of the war and the streets were empty, it was just thwe warthog and the escape car.....And the Cobra gunship which could be heard hovering in the distance..

ooc:Watertest i know your F 117's are taking off cause i have a spec ops group outside the airbase.

Outside Advent airbase

The Spec ops team geared up and prepared for there 1 st objective the radio tower.

"Right bravo team, hang back and cover us, we're gonna leg it to the tower, all the operators should be too busy instructing the F117 to notice us breaking in"

At that him and the 2 other members of Alpha team jogged quickly to the base of the radio tower...

As they reached it, Jones the befiest f the group and the explosive expert questioned,
"How many C-4's do you reckon it will take to blow the whole radio tower?"

"Whoa there big boy, we only want to disable the radio's not destroy the tower"James replyed as he pulled out his lockpick and started fiddling with the door. Eventually the dorr unlocked and the 3 quickly scaled the metal stairs, they made a lound echoing clang, but all the operators would be to engrossed in there jobs to notice.
They reached the door with lead to the brains of the Airbase, the communications room.

Williamson, the infantryman, clicked the safety off his An-94. James shook his head and whispered
"I'll roll and grenade in, it'll be quicker and more effective" After that James slightly opened the door ajar, and knelled down and pulled the pin on the oval grenade and rolled it into the room almost like a bowls player.

They moved back from the door which was still ajar and ytou could hear the soldiers giving out alien co-ordinates and then after a loud boom, the ajar door slammed agaist the frame, and all the voices stopped...

James cooly pulled out his radio,

"This is Alpha team, Bravo team you are clear to move towards Hanger 3"He spoke, as he walked into the smokey room, and inspected all the body's, as James peeped out the smashed windows, and Jones started Planting as many C-4's as he had around the room.

News has arrived that enemy troops at an abandoned farm west of Arculo have surrendered. The white flag was waved from one of the windows of the ruined buildings shortly after air strikes devastated the defences.

1st Fox Company of the 2nd Battalion Guard Infantry moved in to take the prisoners into custody and to be certain of no remaining threat. Captain Of-Barnnum of 1st Fox has announced that during interrogation it emerged that these troops were from a group known as the Free Socialist Movement of Lindni. They are opposed to any moves to introduce democray to the nation and have stated that they will continue to resist all invaders.

Captain Of-Barnnum believes that the group may not be as large as they claim. However, Of Balmania troops will remain alert in the area. When asked about the capability of the Free Socialist forces, Captain Of-Barnnum replied "They kept us tied up here for over two hours and had enough fire power to do more damage. Fortunately we lost only two men with just another handful wounded. We have to thank the United States of Independant Hitmen for their help today. Without them we'd probably still be engaged in a fire fight and there may have been more casualties."

Although Captain Of-Barnnum did not actually say so, it is believed possible that the Free Socialist Movement is just another part of the overall anti democratic forces which are threatening peace and democray in Lindni. Some sources say that the spread of these forces may be wider than had originally been thought.

Local civilians appear to have, thus far, kept a low profile.

Of Balmania forces will now secure the region, and are known to have linked up with forces from the United States of Independant Hitmen. 1st Fox Company will be using the farm - what's left of it - as an operations base.

On board the Flagship of the fleet USIHS Guardian General Deeside gets off the phone with the Head of the Joint Chiefs of staff, General D. Bartlet and turned to his aide with a big smile on his face.
Captain: "What is it sir?"
General: "The President is sending III Army Corps here to support us, and 2 more aircraft carriers are 1 day away with another one 4days away. Also they are going to try and cut a deal with some countries around here so that they can bring in land based F-15s and -16s to beef up the air force."
Captain: "Well thats good news sir but to use them we are going to need an airfield, and all weve got so far is a small helicopter landing area for the choppers flying off Conquerer and Robert D. Wren".
General: "I know that. Im ordering the 9th and 45th to start moving with the 6th in reserve. Our allies will have to be up with the frontline troops i would think, but ill discuss that with their commander later. How are those F-18s doing about taking out some armour?"
Captain: "Well sir they should be setting off right about now sir" and as if on cue the roar of a jet engine announced that the F18s were taking off with F-14s acting as escorts.
General:" Good that should make our lives a lot easier, what are they doing about the satillite passes i asked for?"
Captain: "Well sir the take from the first one should have been here by now ill go and see whats deleying it."

With that he left the room ducked under the bulkhead and moved off left towards the CIC. He had hardly been gone a minute when a Major appeared at the door and said " General Sir you need to come and look at this."
General: " What is it Major?"
Major: "Sir the satillite pass shows what looks like a very large movement of enemy forces towards Hnazi and they have blown the bridge 26 Klicks South West of the outskirts."
General:" How much is a very large amount?"
Major: "We estimate 50,000 Minimum"
General:"Shit Major, they got artillery or tanks?"
Major: "Overheads show T-80s moving with the column yes sir but we havnt seen any artillery."
General: "God Dammit" He hears the roar of an F-18 taking off."Can we get those things retargeted for this column Major?"
"Well I'm not sure sir i'll go find out" the Major said halfway out the door nearly bumping into the Captain as he came back.
"General what shall i tell the Divisonal Commanders?" Asked the Captain.
"Well tell them to hold the advance for 2 more days, we'll get the airforce to pound em with -52s and everything else they can get, and by that time the 143rd Motor Rifle Division should be here. Theyve got brand new T-99Ms, its a brilliant tank it even gives the Abrams a match, and they have 450 of them as well as 350 BMP-4s and those things pack a punch to." General Deeside said as if he was trying to sell them.

At the abandoned farm Sgt Of-Marsh stepped into the doorway of the old farm house. He saw Captain Of-Barnnum sifting through some charred papers. "Those planes certainly roughed the place up, sir." He took off his helmet and glanced out across the scorched ruins. "What do we do with the prisoners, Sir?"

Captain Of-Barnnum looked up. "What? Oh ... they'll be picked up in the morning. Meantime, feed them, give them basic medic treatment, then lock them in the barn or something."

"The barn's got no doors , Sir."

"Tie it up with barbed wire then. If any of them get out shoot them in the foot. They're going back to base whether they want to or not. Have we got the perimeter secure?"

"Yes, Sir. The men are alert. They won't take us like that again."

"Always expect the unexpected, Sergeant."

They both glanced around silently as though awaiting that stray bullet which would end their lives, then they relaxed as a private brought them mugs of tea.

Captain Of-Barnnum passed the sergeant a piece of charred paper. "Read that," he said.

The sergeant saw a strange language alongside a roughly scrawled map. The only word he recognised was Hnazi. "Isn't that ....?"

"Yes it is," the captain cut him off. "Might be something useful in that so make a copy and have one forwarded to the USA command. Maybe they can make something of it."

The sergeant nodded understanding and took a drink from his mug.

Just then a shout was heard and they both ran outside, grabbing their helmets.

"Captain. Ten o'clock."

Captain Of-Barnnum looked through his binoculars at a convoy of vehicles approaching their position. He saw the flag of the Independant Hitman fluttering in the breeze. "Must be their sixth infantry," he told the sergeant.

"About bloody time," muttered the sergeant as he went back inside to finish his tea.

Captain Of-Barnnum turned to his men. "Well don't stand their gawping. Go out and welcome them in." He raised his hand and waved as the allies pulled into the farm yard. A cheer rang out from his men.

"You!" Captain Of-Barnnum called to a nearby private. "Put the kettle on again."

Nightime descends on Day four of the conflict

LTV Evening news

A neat looking asian woman smiled at the camera as in panned in on her,

"This is Lindnian Evening news, covering the Civil War in Lindni"

The screen switches to the frontline with footage of Loyalist troops, watching the sun disappear behind the mountains in the east. Then the asians woman's voice comes out again while this footage rolls.

" As the sun goes downon Day four of the conflict, troops are still waiting to encounter there enemy and grow impaintent, while enemy jets can be heard in the distance and Missle's occaisonally streak over and light up the sky, The ground battle which was initially expected to start today has been stalled as Rebel Commanders question how to get large amounts of troops across bridges which have cut off the cities of Caninda and Hnazi from the approaching attack on the ground at least..."

At this the screen switches to enemy jets and bomber's heard and seen screeching across the sky.

"Today enemy bomber's attacked our capital ci, Civlian casulaties are expected to be in there hundreds(at this the camera switches to rescue forces digging through rubble of destroyed buildings) And a few Millitary casulaties have been confirmed, 7 Challenger II tank have been destroyed, and several damaged.."

The two Mustang 2 fighters swept through a valley, heading straight for Candina. Each launched 4 HARMs towards the SAM and AA batteries in front of them, then broke and climbed up to 5,000ft. Here they established a perimeter, and were prepared to engage any airborne target bar two.

Alpha Charlie, flight of two V-22 Ospreys, swept in behind the fighters. One was armed with 6 Stinger missiles, capable of engaging land targets, and a 30-mm cannon pod. The other was un-armed. A troop carrier.

The un-armed Osprey swept over the roof of a nearby hotel. Already on the roof were the five soldiers waiting for evacuation. The ramp opened, and the NSOC commandos followed Vimes up into the Osprey.

The other V-22 raked nearby troops with 30-mm cannon fire, and launched two missiles at approaching Warthogs, then followed the first back out the way it came.

All 4 aircraft then headed back towards the coast.

Captain McCormack had also awoken at the disturbance. Of-Barnnum turned to him and asked, "You got any troops west of here?"

"Not that I know of." McCormack shook head, then rose to prepare himself for the day.

Captain Of-Barnnum stepped out of the farm house and looked at the column through his binoculars. "Could be anyone. Even some of ours. Sergeant, didn't we get a word that 2nd Fox were going north some time today?"

"Yes, Sir," replied the sergeant. "Only they were heading more over to Arculo to link up with the main USA force."

"So who's that?" Captain Of-Barnnum lowered his binocs and called to a nearby corporal. "Take a section and scout in that direction. Keep minimum radio contact. See if you can get an ID on that convoy."

"Yes, Sir." The corporal sped off to muster his section.

Captain McCormack squinted against the morning light. "I'll radio in to let HQ know. See if we can't arrange a fly over." He headed towards his own communications tent.

"Cup of tea, Sir?" asked the sergeant.

Captain Of-Barnnum accepted the cup and took a sip as he watched the scouting section move out from the farm yard.

5th Royal Rifles came under attack today as they approached a village to the north west of Arculo. Machine gun fire came from windows of several buildings, and mortar fire from somewhere deeper in the village. A firefight has been raging now for over two hours as both sides attempt to gain the upper hand.

http://www.army.dnd.ca/CANADIAN_SCOTTISH/images/prone-rifleman.jpg

Recent communication sugests that the 5th Royal Rifles have suffered casualties and are pinned down on the outskirts of the village. It is possible that they are fighting with a militia formed from local civilians. This has yet to be confirmed.

It is reported that 3rd Fox Company are heading towards that location to support the 5th Royal Rifles.

Sgt Major Of-Brook heard the advancing F-18s and turned to his men. "Fall back into the trees and keep your heads down."

They all ran back the nearby woodland, bullets spraying around them, one man suddenly clutching at his leg and being helped along byanother. Once under cover they flattened themselves and listened to the air assault. Sgt Major Of-Brook glanced up to see smoke rising from the closest buildings. He recalled that only seconds ago he had come close to death from a machine gun in one of those windows. He allowe himself a brief smile.

The F18s swooped over again. More blasts and devastation. Few shots were coming from the village now. He looked up to see the aircraft moving away. He rose and pressed himself against a tree, surveying the village through his binoculars.

"Okay me, lets go get 'em."

The 5th Royal Rifles charged towards the village, jumping over the bodies of their fallen comrades, firing a few volleys and feeling more confident thanks to the air support from the Independant Hitmen.

A man limped out from a doorway, throwing down his weapon and raising his hands. He was immediately pushed against a wall and searched. A few shots rang out from one of the other buildings. Several soldiers ran to the walls and waited for a while before bursting into the building.

Sgt Major Of-Brook heard the shots and knew the threat had been dealt with. He also saw a broken mortar in the middle of the street. A small boy was weeping on a doorstep. Several corpses were scattered around him. He picked up the boy and carried him to one of the lesser damaged buildings where he sat him down and took a breather himself.

A bullet buzzed past his ear; then there was more machine gun fire. There were obviously still some pockets of resisitance. He knew the fight was not over. It would be a house by house job now. He took a deep breath and signalled to a nearby corporal, then he checked his magazine and prepared to rejoin the battle.

At least now they were inside the village and had equal cover. Plus there was more help on the way.

He fixed his bayonet, ignored the butterflies in his stomach, and ran out into the street.

Message from Colonel Of-Cannard - 2nd Battalion Royal Guard Regiment.
To all allies.

Due to the recent attacks on my troops west and north west of Arculo, we shall be adopting a more intense campaign in this area with an aim to wiping out these pockets of resistance and making this area secure. The last thing we need is snipers at our backs.

My 2nd Fox Rifles - 800 men - will be joing forces with the Independant Hitmen for the push to Hnazi. They are very highly trained and adept at street by street, house by house fighting.

1st Fox will remain at the farm base.

5th Royal Rifles and 3rd Fox will establish a base in the village north west of Arculo, once all resistance there has been overcome.

I now ask you all to afford a moment's silence for our fallen comrades.

Thank you.

At that, 8 patriot batteries that had locks on the Hostile craft fired all 4 of their missiles, along with an Aegis Destroyer that fired two Heat seeking towards the mainland.

"Fire when ready, then we return to base" The leading Pilot ordered, As several Missiles crashed into the farmhouse and its surrounding artilley and troops.
Then All the Pilots Threat indicator's beeped wildy,
"Is everyone's Threat indicator's going?!" He shouted slightly worried

"Yes sir, suspected SAM'S in the area, must be them" A pilot towards the back of the formation..

"Ok start evasive actions, fire any flare's if possible" A few planes released there Flares to distract the heat seeking missiles, then a few sighs of relief could be heard as several Pilots Threat indicator's stopped alarming..

"Ok, everyone Who's threat indicator's have ceased return to base, everyone esle, fly as close as you can to the Safe zone and then eject" The pilot commanded, They were about 20 Miles from it when his Threat indicator when haywire.

"I gotta go guys" He shouted hammering the eject button, as he floated down to earth he noticed his two fellow pilots in the distance also floating with him.

He then thought to himself

'I hope they find us alive' As his parachute glently let him down to what seemed a quite hilly terrain..

"Looks like we got three of them sir!" The Controller reported to General Deeside over the radio."Most of the others escaped because we used Heat Seeking not our guided radar missiles".

"Yes i thought that would happen"replyed General Deeside. "They are re-arming the Patriots and Aegis with them, we were expecting helicopters so thats probably why we got caught out."

Onboard USIHS Guardian

"Admiral we are going to need more planes doing the Air Patrol and to be able to launch them we need to go into the wind for just 5 more minutes" pleaded the AirBoss of Task Force 21.

"I know Goddammit, but we dont know for sure that they dont have any Naval assets, when we move our escorts move and i dont want a hole developing in the fleet. Make do with 4 fighters around the town, and 4 plus an E2-C flying CAP"

"Ok sir, but what about getting Jagged (the newly arrived carrier) to launch a squadron of F-22s for an aggressive patrol?"

"Alright but make sure they are armed and fueled up and have a second squadron up in the air ten minutes after them to cover them when they come back"

"Yes sir Admiral" and he walked off to get it organised.

At the Beach Landing area, the first units of the Over-stregth 143rd Motor Rifle Division began landing.

He turned away and shivered and returned to his bedroom...

The three Pilots huddled together keeping each other warm as the cold night approached, they used there parachutes as sheets.

General Mcknight emerged unhurt from the wreckage of his HQ. 6 of his staff and 4 guards were dead and another 15 people were injured, 2 seriously. He could hear the medevac chopper flaring before it landed and the shouts of soldiers trying to find a stretcher to take one of the injured men to the chopper. The UH-60 landed in the town square, about 15 meters infront of the General, sending dust from the building flying into his eyes and mouth. As soon as the choppers wheels touched the ground men put the strechers on and took out some hastily assembled medical packs for the less seriously injured who needed more than their basic medipacks.

3 V-22 Ospreys swept through the low valleys, and out over open grasslands. In front of them was a flight of 4 MSF Mustang 2 Fighter Bombers. Each was armed with 4 500lb Laser Guided Bombs, 4 ASRAAMs for defense, and 2 30-mm high-velocity cannon, each with aroun 300 rounds of ammunition.

The four aircraft picked out the targets on the ground being lased, and released their munitions.

Oliver and his column had arrived in town around 9 in the evening and were bitterly joking about 'what an reception there had gotten'
He saw a dead soldier with his An-94 a few metre's from him, he picked up the gun. He had used this gun in his years of Millitary service, he found it supreior to the Ak-74, so he slung the Ak around his back and held the An-94 in his hand.. He then saw a Red cross on what seemed a local bookstore, he walked across the street and entered he immediately reconised some of his men, he gave them small pep talks and then left, there was that blue tinge in the sky that signalled that morning was near..

He sighed with relief..

Even with the elaborate counter-measures installed on B-52s one had two of its engines destroyed along with most of its outer left wing. The crew bailed out over friendly territory and were picked up by our forces. The pilot took the stricken plane out to sea and then bailed out. A destroyer picked him up and he is now under-going a thourgh medical examination for frost bite and other illnesses.

Onboard the USIHS Guardian, Admiral Jenkins and General Deeside walked into the radio room. As usual both the Admiral and the General were having a hands-on approach to running their commands.

"Major get me Generals Kent, Mcknight, Wilson and Storm on the radio, in that order." Said General Deeside to his radio operator, "Oh and make sure its on the most secure system".

"Roger that General Sir" replied the Major.

Across on the other side of the radio room, the Admiral was talking to the Captains on 5 of his destroyers and 4 of his missile frigates, plus 2 submarine 'drivers'.

"At exactly 12 noon i want all of your ships to launch Cruise Missiles at targets that are being relayed to you now. Destroyers have 5 targets each, Frigates have 4 targets each and Submarines have 2 targets each and you will fire 2 missiles at each target. So in total there should be 90 birds in the air. You will all move so that you are closer to the land and that no fleet units are in between you and your targets. At 12 noon you will launch your first missiles and you will contiue to do so at your leasure until you have fired off quota. Am i understood?"

Twelve voices simaltaniously said "Yes Sir".

"Sir good to see you" Commander of Hnazi defence's saluted Oliver

"So, last night eh"Oliver joked

"Yes quiet a night, seems losses on both side's were minimal, reports suggest we downed a B-52 which are the pride and joy of Watertest's forces so it should be a morale booster for our troops, Come follow me" The commander beckoned, they walked down a high street were a F-15 had crashed.

"pilot bailed out and landed further down the road,And the weapons officier's parachute is unaacounted for.. we tryed interragating him but he was too injured to make sense, we're patching him up and sending him to a nearby mcleoud field hospital. We don't need to make more enemy's by treating our hostages badly" He continued

"o when can we expect ground contact?" Oliver continued

"Well with all bridge's blown, they would only be able to get small amounts of infantry across, tanks and artilley would have to find a longer way around but thats there problem, the longer this war lasts the less support the enemy will have from the public"

The sun was high in the sky, Oliver looked at his clock 11:40am..

OOC:What happened about my cruise missiles??
17-08-2003, 11:13
OOC: The actual attack won't be for days. All aspects of the blitzkrieg air, cruise missiles, artillery, tanks, infantry have to be underway within one hour.

Command Center:

The Ground Commander was sitting down on a chair with a smug look on his face. He would be known forever in Watertest as the great general who defeated the dicatorship in Lindi. As he sat in his chair listening to the reports of the various captains then it dawned on him and he realized that all the major bridges were blown up. He stood up and started swearing then he ordered the major in the room.

Ground Commander: Major get in here now

Major: Whats wrong sir

Ground Commander: Those ----ers blew up all the major bridges.

Major: Well we could always send for some mobile bridges from Watertest

Ground Commander: That would take almost 12 hours

Major: Well we can't cross the river without them

Ground Commander: Fine Have 55 Mobile Bridges transported to this shore, also have C-135's drop Ammunition, Water, and Food to help our forces. Damn them

Major: Sir, you forget that if they engage us at the present moment we will win. Our forces are dug in at this time.

Ground Commander: They want to blow up the bridges huh. Well return the favor. Dismissed Major

Major: Yes Sir

Using the new information gathered about Candina, McLeodian troops are preparing for an assault on a known command center.

LOCATION: MAFCCP/Orbital Intelligence Division/Lindni Section

Intelligence Officer Kelly Jacobson looked at the live feeds of command posts throughout the Loyalist held regions of Lindni. Around each screen, alarms rang as explosions began. Buildings were sheathed in flames, and encampments of troops and vehicles disappeared.

She immediatley picked up the hotline to the OID commander and told him to switch his monitor to show the Lindni Command buildings.

General (Intel) Harrison took one look at the devastation and muttered.

"God damn. Wouldn't want to be down there right now"

He then picked up the phone and dialled through to Joshua Munroes office.

"Get me the military advisor" he said, as Munroes secretary picked up the phone.

Jack Advent is feared dead or injured, as smoke's billows from the palace and rescue teams fight the blaze, many troops on the frontline were once again targetted, around 8,500 infantry lay dead, and more are being shifted to field hospital's, Around 100 tanks in Hnazi and Caninda are destroyed and immobilised..

They would probably strike early morning, at the earliest.

He looked down the line, it was pitch black and the only light would come from tank's firing or Mortar's doing the same, he felt confident they had the natural defense of a steep hill which hnjazi was located on, he put his NVG'S on and scanned the farm field the enemy would have to cross to get to Hnazi, it had little or no cover, apart from the odd carter were a mortar had fell short, although the enemy could flank from the side's were there was woodland, he tapped his second in command

The battle for Hnazi

"Sir reported casulaties!"A soldier cried holding onto his helmet, as a driving rain lashed down on the battlefield.

"804 Dead,

1,465 wounded,

5 Missing!?" The Commander spoke worried

"Yes, the rain has confused soldier's, combined with that not all soldier's having NVG'S"

"Any pushes for the flanks?"

"No sir"

"Try and get me some reports for mechanised damage..."

As the soldier jogged away, the commander sat quiet, he closed his eyes and heard a number of noises and voices.

"Bit to the left, oh yeah i got him" A soldier cheered as he apparently got a soldier with his warthog 50 cal.

A large explosion went off in the distance, and assorted cries of "Medic" filled the air...

He opened his eyes and saw a Fighter crash through the air, hit by a stinger it looked like a meteor as it glided over...

Casualty update:
6 Fox Company - woodland outside of Hnazi.

15 dead
27 wounded.

Report from OBTV correspondent, Of-Colman.

"The fighting continues here into the night. All around me there is gunfire and deafening sounds of incoming artillery. 6 Fox are holding this ground, but the question is, for how long? There's no doubt that this position will have to be re-inforced. I'm told that 5 Fox are heading this way, and that is quite a relief to the already battle weary troops beside me."

*!~*!!

"You probably couldn't hear that, but a shell just passed over me. Way too close for comfort. Way too close! It exploded in the trees behind us and the impact interrupted our communications for a few seconds. I don't think anyone was hit this time.

I asked one commander what the significance of this position was. He replied, without going into specifics, that it was important to fight the enemy on several flanks. This battle for Hnazi has a long way to go, and there will be many more casualties I'm sure.

I need to take better cover now. This is Of-Colman for OBTV, outside Hnazi."

Report from OBTV correspondent Of-Colman:

"Fighting continues here in the woodland outside of Hnazi. A few short hours ago 5 and 6 Fox Companies linked up for another major push forward into enemy territory. I can say now that we must have advanced about a mile and a half, and I have heard reports that two buildings at the edge of the woodland - you could say at the edge of the city - have been occupied by our forces. However, resistance is still strong. I would estimate around twenty casualties on our side, maybe more on the Lindni side, but it's difficult for me to tell from here. This ground battle is long and drawn out with heavy fighting taking place for control over one small pocket of ground after another. This is guerilla warfare in horrifying reality.

I have seen what I think were enemy soldiers, disarmed and captive, being marched back toward allied lines. I can also tell you that what I'm standing in here was, until about half an hour ago, a bunker used by a Lindni machine gun crew. The remains of the machine gun are still beside me and there are hundreds of used cases on the ground. Movement around me is slower than it was, this piece of ground being now firmly in allied hands. However, the sounds of battle are not far away.

This is Of-Colman for OBTV, outside Hnazi"
