IF you intend to fullfill every whim that a Nation brings to you have absurd qty's of supplies I would expect you to not only sell them as requested but to calculate the transportation costs, spares, additional service equipment required to keep the "inventory item" running etc.

OOC: Wow last time I checked I was not calling anyone names, this is a "community" and in an effort to maintain a sense of "reality" I happen to play the devil's advocate. By the way since we do live in a relatively "free" society we are able to express our opinions without people like yourself (who must be incapable of thinking in a logical manner) running to a "mod" because you do not have the intellect to properly engage in the conversation. Since I have only stated the obviouse in my observation I have not done so soley for the reason of pointing out the absurdness of some people actions, but rather in hopes that they would sit down and think about what it would logically take to perform certain actions ie moving 1 million soliders from one Nation to another. Or the fact that just because your budget is 10 Billion dollars for defence does not mean that you can just buy 10 Billion dollars worth of "hardware". You must have funds available for other function that are required to support your hardware. And in situations where you are a new purchaser of a certain item you must also have ample time to train on and perfect the day to day operation of the item. You can not take 4,000 service men who have never seen an Aircraft Carrier before and just put them on board and say "okay now operate this thing". There is a learning curve, there are things that will take time to discover and figure out. What if something breaks or fails, an electrical component vital for targeting systems on the shipboard defence system goes off-line. Where is the "reset button" ? Which power line goes where ? What breaker is it connected to ? What other systems does the component rely on for data ? What order does the system need to be "re-started" and how do you know when to bring the next device "on-line" ?

Same thing goes for any weapon system, do you think you can take a pilot that has only flown in F4's and then one day you go, okay get in this F/22 and go shoot down that enemy AC. And expect the pilot is going to be able to operate the F/22 at 100% proficiency? He will be lucky to get the aircraft into the air, on target and be able to sight in on the enemy and should anything go wrong he would have no idea about any fail safe systems or back up weapon systems.

I haven't looked at this storefront in great detail, but as the author of the Storefront Code of Conduct (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=359981) thread and the How to build a Better Storefront (http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=353255) thread, I believe I can shed some insights into the handling of a storefront.

First of all, "harrassing" (which I'm putting in quotation marks because it seems some people have different ideas of what constitutes harrassment) a storefront owner in his thread, either ICly or OOCly is rude. It's not an appropriate way to handle either IC or OOC grievances with the owners. There are better ways to make the points you just made in this most recent post without resorting to name-calling or declaring war on someone. If you spot some tech that you consider a Godmode, you can either TG the storefront owner with your concerns and epxlay why you consider it a Godmode; or you can post OOCly saying what you consider the problems to be.

Secondly, if you think this storefront is in the wrong by not taking certain logistical issues into account, I remind you of the old expression "two wrongs don't make a right." Badgering someone, either ICly or OOCly because you think they deserve it is only going to serve to anger people. I also remind you that there are certain logistical issues that MANY storefronts do not take into account, either because most of the people on this site are civilians and would not be able to grasp many of the logistical headaches that generals or admirals have to tangle with. The fact that people are "buying" military equipment from a "storefront" in the first place isn't realistic, since procurements of military equipment do not work that way in the RL world.

The fact that a lot of the technologies that are in NationStates aren't realistic and many of the actions taking place in this game aren't realistic is an outgrowth of the kind of game that is not meant to be a perfect simulator for real life. Sarzonia's population would most likely be at least easily in third place in the RL world, if not tied for second place with India, but in NationStates, there are many, many countries whose populations dwarf mine. I've seen countries claim navies of at least 4,000 ships, some may have more than that. I've seen countries claim military forces that dwarf the populations of some of the largest countries in the RL world. None of that is "realistic." Granted, we're all expected to try to make our moves as realistically as we can, but the game isn't designed for genuine realism, particularly when national populations sometimes increase by six or seven million people a day.

It seems to me that you do have a valid point in all of this. However, the way you have gone about it is not productive. Bear in mind that other storefront owners often pay attention to the goings on in other storefronts. You might have upset more than just the owners of THIS particular one.]
