It has been a long time, hasn't it? Yes. I don't shop much anymore because I make everything myself -- only better, but the Czar has ordered me to aquire these, and he hasn't even told ME why, and I'm the Aerospace Commander! Oh well, the Czar requires:

20 B2 Spirit bombers for sixteen billion

50 B52 Stratofortress bombers for one billion, three hundred and fifty million

50 B1B Lancers for seven billion, five hundred million

1000 air-drop thermonuclear bombs for fifteen billion

The total coming out to thirty-nine billion, eight hundred fifty million

We are interested in purchasing four of your "Oliver Hazard Perry" class vessels ($40Million) as stopgaps for our Coast Guard Improvement programme. Can a lease-purchase arrangement at .5% interest over five years coupled with a service-contract with your shipyards be arranged? (this would, of course, include a non-aggression agreement for the duration of the contract, firm Foreclosure agreements, and several other negotiables to guarantee prompt payments to you, and quality training and maintenance equipment for us...)

21-02-2004, 19:37
GH probably knows what he's selling; the prices are just so low that he has got to be losing a lot of money.

For instance, exactly why is your F-16 more expensive than your F-22? Also, why does the Eurofighter, a lightweight yet capable fighter, cost the same as a Ticonderoga-class cruiser, a much larger naval vessel?
Grays Hill
21-02-2004, 19:52
Thats because I dont think about prices when I put them in. I just try to make them low. And sometimes I make typos. And when people point something out like the Eurofighter being the same prics as the Ticonderoga, then I go back and edit.

Grays Hill, a note for your packages:

In the US military, organizations are somewhat different.

The average infantry brigade would have two battalions of 58 IFVs each, 1 battalion of 58 tanks, and a battalion of 24 artillery pieces. In addition, there are many support units, trucks, HMMWVs, etc.

Likewise, an armored brigade would be similar, only with two tank battalions and 1 IFV battalion.

A good place to find out about this would be at this site:

http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/library/policy/army/toe/index.html

An armored division would be two armored brigades and 1 mechanized infantry brigade, and a Mechanized infantry division would be two mechanized infantry brigades and 1 armored brigade. After that, both get a certain amount of helicopters, air defense, signal support, divisional support, etc.

Air Forces are organized into wings of three squadrons. Generally, a Fighter wing will have 18 planes per squadron, so 54 total. Bomber wings and transport wings have 8 and 12 per squadron, respectively.

And naval forces are organized specifically, too. Though more loosely. Ususaly, a carrier battle group will have 1 carrier, six surface escorts, two submarines, and 1 multipurpose fleet replenishment ship. The carrier will have 50 strike fighters, 4 SEAD/EW planes, 4 AWACS planes, 8 anti-submarine/partol aircraft, and 8 helicopters.

But don't mind me. I've wasted most of the past year of my life trying to find these organizations.

If you had only been around when i was a piddling n00b, I would have saved so much time....
