"We interupt this programming to bring you the following developing story.. Less than a half hour ago, it was reported that some type of missile or cruise weapon was fired off the northern Tilsitsinian coast, near the largest of Tilsitsin's coastal islands, Harding Beach Island.

Initially, spot reports suggested that a rocket was fired from near the island, aimed at the mainland of Tilsitsin, which is about 2 and a half miles away. Reports now suggest, however, that this attack instead consisted of up to 3 cruise missiles of unknown type, fired from the island itsself.

We bring you now to a press conference now in progress with the Tilsitsinian Army's commanding officer, General Erik Carson:"

"..As I noted, the type of cruise missiles fired is unknown at this time. We are only able to confirm that 3 missiles were intercepted and destroyed by units of the 7th and 9th Air Defense Brigades, 4th Area Air Defense Command, stationed in Guy Fallin province, northern Tilsitsin."

Voices drown out the general as he points to another reporter..

"General Carson.. Is it possible that this attack is the work of seperatist extremists? Or is this perceived to be a foreign attack?"

"I cannot confirm or deny the organizations or persons behind this attack. The only information I have at this time is what information we know."

"While military and government representatives may be unable to identify the actual source of the attack, some defense analysts are pointing directly to the growing tension building between hardliner socialists and capitalists in Tilsitsin, saying that this attack could mark the beginning of a larger and more open struggle between the two groups.

Most defense experts are already speculating that this is not a foreign attack, but merely a provocation for open civil conflict.

"This is Karen Andersen, reporting for the Tilsitsinian News Network.. Today, Tilsitsin was the target of attacks by unknown persons, firing what are believed to be high-tech cruise missiles. It is believed by defense analysts that the army's Fort Groebner, just north of Korgin and home to over 68,000 troops of the Tilsitsinian Army's II Corps, was the intended target.

Initial reports from army chief General Erik Carson stated the number of missiles fired to be 3, however this number was revised to a total of 6, after reports of a bomb hitting a neighborhood in the Korgin subburb of Vicksburg surfaced. A total of 4 of the 6 missiles were destroyed before impact, with 2 exploding in the Vicksburg area. The number of dead is estimated to be over 100 persons at this time.

Reaction from the government was swift however, with Premier Walters issuing orders to the armed forces calling for them to go on "high alert" immediately, and prepare for action. It is now being widely speculated that a left-wing extremist group called "Workers Front" may be involved in the attacks, although there is no official comment on this from government spokespersons.

With the rise in tension between pro-democracy and pro-socialist groups in Tilsitsin reaching a critical high, the speculation of involvement of radical groups within Tilsitsin carrying out these attacks as provocation for open hostilities seems by most to be very likely.

"In an announcement just made by the Tilsitsin Armed Forces High Command, it was announced that certain reserve-guard and regular army units stationed on the Tilsitsinian Island province of Harding Beach have mutinied, and pledged allegience to the "Socialist Alliance of Harding", which is now claiming responsibility for the recent attacks.

It is unknown exactly what military units have taken part in this attempt to mutiny against the government, however TNN has obtained information that active elements of the army's IV Corps and V Airborne Corps, totalling over a division in strength, as well as small contingents of active air force and navy members are stationed on the island.

In response to these shocking events, Premier Walters has ordered that military forces be dispatched to the area in order to secure the island and apprehend the ringleaders of the mutiny attempt. Local civilian authorities on the island are apparently no longer in power, and remain unavailable to be contacted. Government officials fear that these civil servants have been kidnapped and possibly murdered. More to follow.."

Somewhere on Harding Beach Island, in a small country home near the coast..

A man walked up a small hillside, along a well-worn footpath. Today was a clear and beautiful day on the island, albeit with a rather heavy wind. His movement was hurried and with purpose, and the two aids with him struggled to keep pace. He wore the military uniform of a Tilsitsinian army general. As he entered the home at the top of the hill, the multitude of voices carrying on in the home suddenly stopped.

"General Reygand.. We have been waiting for you!" The man spoke with some hesitation, a slight trembling in his voice. This rather rotund and balding man with thin, wirey glasses on was Armand Forrister, governor of Harding Beach Island and it's 24 million inhabitants.

"I know governor, but do keep in mind that I am running a war now as commander of our armed forces.. Every second I have is critical."

"That is of course why I called you here for this meeting, general. These men you see here are represent most of the major interests and political organizations on the island that support us. They want to know how we intend to keep our island socialist against the mainland threat!" The governor's words now began to border on rhetoric, but the general knew what must be said.. He spoke loudly, seemingly speaking to the whole island in his mind..

"Of course, we are in an understandably dire situation here.. Our 'armed forces' consist of only two regular infantry divisions, one of which is airborne, as well as a handfull of support units such as the 3rd Airborne Armor Brigade, with it's 52 L-770 tanks. We do have some regular airforce units that defected as well, but on the whole we can only muster up 42 modern fighters and 28 bombers, and no naval forces defected with us. But the good news is that we can also count on the 110th Reserve Infantry Division and it's support units that are stationed here, and of course you already know that we've used the 505th Coastal Missile Battalion."

A voice came from near the back of the rather large living room, behind several rows of people.

"General, my name is Stevens and I represent the political police forces in our new country.. My question to you, is quite simple. Can we realistically hold out against the mainland?"

"The answer is quite simply no."

Everyone in the room knew it, but an air of depression suddenly descended on the room.

"But I speak as though we cannot count on any foreign intervention at all. The key is that you all must convince our people and the international community of our cause! Surely, with aid we can prevail. But alone, I am afraid we will simply be crushed. Now gentlemen, I must be leaving for my headquarters. Good day."

The general left the room as quickly as he had arrived, and the politicos and representatives of all kinds in the room returned to a loud debate.

At the Imperial Palace in Surdia.

Maximillian Dronvill the Emperor of Surdia, a warlike man who saw any kind of war as an oppurtunity, he had long waited to show hes prowes in combat.

A man bearing the uniform of the Imperial Guard enterd the room of Maximillian after being granted admittance. He bowed to a knee and lowered his head beofre pronouncing.

"My Lord a situation has arisen in a Land Called Tiltstin, i believe it might be of some interesst to you"

Maximillian grinned, and stood up.

"Ahh I see, well I shall have a look then. At ease Guardsman, I shall go to the conference room at once, make sure all the Information is availebal"

The Imperial Guard stood up saluting with a closed fist over his chest.

"As you command so shall it be my Lord"

The Soildier rushed away to make preparations for his emperor, and Maximillian calmly proceded to the conference room escorted by 10 guardsmen, as he always was.

"Baker two-three this is Alpha four. Approaching target zone, Tango October Tango two mikes.."

The two A-10 Wathogs of the Tilsitsinian Airforce's 2nd Attack Squadron made their way to their objective, only a few hundred feet off the ground. Their objective was to hit a known concentration of armored vehicles, ensuring the rebels had no use of these tanks in the future.

On the ground, rebel AA gunners and missile controllers had already spotted the aircraft both on radar systems and visually.

"Now we can even hear them sir.. What are your orders?"

The major responded icily: "Wait until they reach within a half a kilometer of the Gepards, and then open fire while our radars actively acquire them."

As the A-10s got closer and now could see the tank park in their sights, they moved into attack position as they armed their weapons. But sudden pops and bangs began to bracket both aircraft.

"Dammit, GEPARD fire! Alpha five, evasive maneuvers, but maintain your run on those tanks! I want-"

A 30mm round burst through the flight leader's right wing, a few feet from the fusalage along the leading edge. A second round then burst his left engine into flames. He broke off his attack as he turned quickly to see his wingman. The other aircraft was already falling towards the ground in flames, with what appeared to be SAM smoketrails behind the aircraft that had hit it.

The wingleader ejected as his threat panel showed a missile lock on his aircraft.

Later; In the Conference room at the imperial Palace of Surdia.

Maximillian was told of all the happenings that had taken place in Tiltsin, after wich he stood up pronouncing.

"Politically i could not care less what happens to this country, but this is a chans for us to make a country indebted to us. The army is strong and morale is high we shall support these 'Rebels' of Tiltstin. repare 3 Infantry legions to depart at once and have 4 Centuries of Paratroopers standing by.
Now Get me a commlink with theire Commander"

Everyone one in the room saluted and orders were being carried out hastily, Maximillian smiled, he had been bored for so long.

"When a commlink is established send this man a message that he has the support of Surdia, tell him that we support his struggle and will aid him however we can"

General Reygand was deep in thought, staring at a map on the wall that displayed troop dispositions. Arrows and symbols covered the map to show several courses of action, all possible battles to come..

"General, we have a call on the line from a representative of Surdia!"

The general turned quickly and smiled. He knew this is what his forces needed. Hopefully the Surdians wanted to intervene.

"They are saying that they are willing to dispatch infantry and airborne forces to us!"

"Tell them that we need all we can get... Infantry are fine, but what we really need is some armor and artillery. This is going to get difficult soon."

"Yes sir.. Just a few moments.."

The general knew this was going to be hard business now. There would be no turning back and no quarter given for him or his forces. It truly was victory or death now.

Back at the Surdian Conference Room.

A high ranking Imperial Guardsman stood infront of the emperor awaiting commands, and Maximillian was not late to give them.

"So he wants armour and artillery? well since we dont have much in the ways of transportable artillery that cant be arrange, but lets see. Those 3 Legions weve dispatched wont do much good against an enemy attack. Dispatch 3 Full Cataptacht Legions and 5 Full Marauder Legions. Deploy our entire Travias Fleet But keep the Murthok Fleet In reserve.... And captain bring me a Unit of Wildcards as soon as possible"

"Yes My lord" was the only response from the guardsman as he saluted before starting working on his orders.

Maximillian turned to hes commlink operator and calmly said.

"Tell them that we have sent 1500 Cataphract Tanks aswell as 1000 Marauder troop transports, they will be arriving along with our Main Fleet, this fleet holds 6 aircraft carriers all of wich will be fully loaded with fighters"

"Yes My lord!" The message was sent without delay.

In a matter of hours, the entire Tilsitsinian navy had converged on the island, and the entire airforce was fuled and armed for action. Thus far, no action had been taken, because the situation was'nt entirely clear. But now, intelligence had information that international support for these "rebels" was sure to come. Action had to be taken now. Premier Walters was in a poor mood. Now there was no turning back, and he knew he had to act fast. He sat up in his chair, placing clenched fists on the solid oak desk.

"Sir, I know you didn't want it to come to this, but now we have no further choice in the matter. Waiting any further virtually guarantees a long fight for what is OURS!" Senior General Field Marshall Tennison now spoke with near infuriation. As head of the national defence council, he was watching the country quickly tear apart before an indecisive national leader.

"Fine Trevor.. you know I've always trusted your decisions in military matters. Do what is necessary. I will contact our allies and garner what support I can."

The general stiffened and gave a sharp salute, and then turned with precision to leave.

An older man, hands and body worn by years in crop fields, continued to work his land in the same manner that he had done for over 50 years. It was slightly cloudy this morning on the island, but he didn't think there would be any rain today. He looked forward to today, with the sun just on the rise. But a strange sound become louder and louder. He knew it sounded like jet planes, but this sound assaulted his ears, as loud as anything he'd ever heard.

The first of the forces from surdia began to arrive the 1st Lenankamp Infantry legion, The 4th Lenankamp Infantry Legion and the 3rd Valmos Infantry Legion. They all arrived togheter with a message.

These troops were fastest to respond but stand firm for my main fleet and 2500 armourd veichles along with it are on they way. Also i am preparing to mobilize roughly 2 million more troops. But this will take time.

I have 400 Elite paratroopers from the 3rd Airborne Legion ready as well as my own handpicked unit of wildcards, i will put the 1st and 2nd teams(10 men each) of wildcards at your disposal. They should have arrived with the troops.

Almost forty miles inside International Waters, the events unfolding were viewed by Captain Giles, Commanding Officer of the Brittanian Carrier Invincible, as she conducted WarGames with several other Brittanian Destroyers & Ancillery craft.

"It is a full scale mutiny?" asked Giles.

His first officer nodded- "Several regiments have openly rebelled against the goverment, airdrops have begun."

Giles took a moment to think-

"Contact Brittanian Control, advise them of the situation and our intent, Contact the Tilsitsin goverment, advise them if they require it, we can make all avalible speed towards them. Advise them also of our position and our status.

"Aye Sir."

"Looks like we may be involved in some real WarGames..."

General Reygand had just finished meeting with the commanders of the Surdian units that have made it to the island first. He looked drained and pale now, but there was resolve in his face never the less.

A close aid to the general, Major Vick Foster, saw the general appoaching the situation room and approached him.

"General, what came of the meeting with the Surdians?"

"They are sending over tanks and APCs.."

"But general, this is what we needed!"

"No, not this.." The general paused, his eyes scanning the room. "Tell the Surdians we don't want any more than what they have enroute now. We want their armor and APCS, but we need to be careful not to provoke the mainland too far."

"But sir, I kn-" The general cut him off. "Vick I am telling you- Do this now. Meet with them and tell them no more ground troops! For god sakes, the Tilsitsin navy has all five of it's carriers enroute here from port. I don't want this to escalate any further! If we go too far, the Tilsitsinians will call on all the support they can get. That will only mean the end for us.."

"Yes sir.."

At the Surdian Conference Room.

After receiveing the message from the 'Rebels".

"So they wish for no more troops, that is fine by me, 8 legions is quite enough i presum, and after all we have our entire mainfleet enroute to them.
Very well transmit a message saying that we understand entirely, and that should the need arise for any further assistance they should not be late to call for it, also my field general in will follow directives from theire Commander but in no way do i hand over command of my units, i just want this to be clear. Now get a move on i believe i will be busy from now on".

"Yes my lord" The plain and simple response was all Maximillian recieved as always before his commands were carried out.

Maximillian retired to his quarters but kept an open commlink to the conference room at all times.

The Immense form of the Brittanian Carrier Invincible continued onwards, It's screen of Destroyers and Gunships creating an impressive screen of vessels. Onboard Fleet-Captasin Giles ordered all stop.

"Now answering to All-Stop Captain." reported the helmsman.

"Good, advise the Tilsitsin Goverment we are in a position to assist, standing by at your Territorial Waters."

"Aye sir, Message away."

Giles stood, surveying his birdge crew.

"Now, we wait."

Our navy, as you know sir, isn't built for open fleet engagement. We can support the landings on the island that were ordered, but the Surdian navy is another matter." Said Admiral Cartwright, commander of the Tilsitsinian navy.

Marshal Tennison, seated on the couch comfortably with his legs crossed, looked at the Premier and nodded.

"Alright then.." The Premier replied. "Tell the Brittanians that we require their assistance in blockading the island from foreign intervention. Our Airforce and navy will provide what support they can to them, but tell them that they must prevent and foreign vessels from getting through! If we are to root out the rebels, we can't have any foreign troops landing."

"At once, sir."

The Thrum of the Invincible's Engines rose to a deafening roar as she began to set a new course- Around her Swarms of Destroyers fanned out, each heading towards purpose gained coardinates. Dozens of Gunboats, far faster than the lumbering Capital ships sped on.

"Prepare to deploy Tactical Blockaide Kappa-Four." Ordered Giles.

"Let no Foreign Vessel enter these waters- they are to recieve One Verbal Warning, one further Warning shot and then we shall engage them." he added.

The Brittanian 2nd Fleet Took up their Defensive positions, Immense AA Batteries swivelling upwards, Cruise Missile Silos hissing in expetance...

The massive Travias Fleet of Surdia, The Main fleet of the Holy Empire, aproached the Tilsitsin Lands. But now there apeared to be a third Nation Involved. A Good sized fleet had been put up betweene the Fleet and its goal.

Nevertheless it was not Surdian style to back down so if they wished to fight so they would.

The Travis Fleet Held 5 Carriers, 3 of wich were of the smaller kind and 2 Battleships. Also assorted escort ships were numerous with several Cruisers and missile cruisers aswell as destroyers and gunboats aswell as the unseen escort ships below the waves.

A Hail came to the enemy Navy.

"Hail, the Surdian navy salute your efforts but we are not intrested in conflict. We are enroute to join our country men on the shores, if you will not let us pass you are puttin thousands of Surdian groundtroops at risk and this will not be tolerated. Move or be moved, This is First Admiral Dante of the Surdian Fleet".

"And this is Karen Andersen with TNN morning break.. Today marks day 3 in the 'Island Rebellion', as it has become known. In an announcement by the Tilsitsin National Defense Council this morning, the government has officially now acknowledged that a rebellion has taken place on Harding Beach Island. The man responsible for the rebellion has been widely acknowledged as General of Infantry Harold Reygand, commander of the fifth military region, which includes Harding Beach Island."

"Meanwhile, operations by the Tilsitsinian navy to blockade the island are 'proceeding as planned', as an official spokesman of the navy has said. It is also reported that elements of the army's elite 'Leaderguard Army' have begun deploying to the island, in an effort to end the rebellion with minimal loss of life."

"And in other news..."

"Dammit this is Hickory Six! I want the colonel on the horn NOW!" LTC Harry Dawson was furious. He had just watched his entire infantry battalion go up in flames after a pass by B-52s.

"Hickory Six this is King Six.. Go ahead Hickory.."

"Situation report.. We have lost all troops, I repeat, all troops. Airstrikes 100% effective."

"Hickory six, are you saying your battalion is gone?"

"What does it sound like I'm saying! the lot of em GONE!"

"Now calm down Harry! I want you up to the CP immediately. King Six out."

The colonel looked at his map. That was the worst that 79th regiment had got of the strikes, but for the rest of the army and the allied forces, he wasn't sure. SAMs had gotten one or two bombers, but the Socialist forces could not afford losses like the main-landers could.

"Sir, call from division. They say we're to wove out to a grid they are specifying immediately. It looks like it's towards the south, where those landings are.."

"This is fantastic.. I loose a third of my troops, and now I'm supposed to defend against armored troops with light ATGMs.. Dammit."

The colonel stood up and walked towards the opening of the command tent.

General of Armored Troops Michael Topham continued scanning the horizon from his LCAC as it approached Delta Beach, the designated landing zone for his leaderguard troops. Already, most of the 1st Corps was ashore, with the 2nd Corps still either enroute or still in waiting in port back in Stachel.

"General, the Premier just called on the line, and he wanted to relay to you that he has the upmost confidence in your command abilities, and that he wishes you good hunting."

Topham, with bald-shaven head and short stature, grinned.

"Of course he does, captain! That's because I'm going to blast the hell out of these people. He knows that he just let the lion out, and I intend to eat these people alive!" The general's staff got a short chuckle out of the comment. The general always had a great attitude, even in the worst of situations.

"Sir, report from the Walters Guard Division.. They have advanced to designated position, and have made contact with enemy troops attempting to assault the beachhead. Looks like L-770s.. Most likely, it's the 3rd Armor. They appear to have infantry support, possible foreign troops.."

"Tell Foster to hold his positions, as the corps isn't entirely up yet. I've requested that we get support from the 1st Foreign Legion Corps before we move out from defensive positions, but tell him we can support his defense with corps artillery's Crusaders or the assault brigade's apaches if need be."

"Roger that sir.."

Within minutes of the conversation, the general was ashore with his staff. He could hear the firing of artillery not too far away.

"They are demanding we break the blockade and allow them passage."

Giles stood from the Command Chair, his eyes fixed on the Ensign at the communications Console.

"Advise them thus, we are blockading on the official request of Tilsitsin, and we will break it for no one bar them, if they attempt to force their way through, we will consider it an Act of Aggression against the Kingdom Of Brittania."

"Message away sir."

"Make all weapons ready, signal the rest of the fleet to do likewise, we will continue this blockade, we retaliate only if they fire or attempt to break through."

General Reygand walked through the door with his aid and sat down at the head of table, ready to be briefed by his senior staff. The general was looking worn, his lack of sleep over the past few days starting to show.

"Good afternoon sir.. I'll begin the briefing with the report that our armored assets are curently engaging enemy units defending the beachhead. It looks like they went all the way and sent in the Leaderguard Army, because vehicle markings on enemy vehicles show emblems of the Walters tank division. While losses have been steady for us, they haven't been unbearable. We've used almost all the ATGMS we have though, including KORNETS and SRMAMS systems.

"What kind of losses have we inflicted?"

"So far, the reports are encouraging.. We have confirmed the destruction of 16 Leopards and 24 Truppen Panzers, with approximately 200 enemy troops killed. No troops have been captured however. Our losses in these engagements have been roughly 22 L-770s lost and about 400 troops killed, wounded or missing. The troop losses came mainly from artillery strikes.
So far, our air defense forces have been good about keeping enemy attack aircraft away, and we even got 3 apaches a few hours ago. But the heavy bombers remain a problem, and foreign forces are starting to pitch in. It appears as though AV-8Bs are attempting to hit our artillery positions, and the mainlanders don't possess this type."

"Any kills reported against these harriers?"

"Just one sir.. But reports are not back yet from the BDA team looking at the wreckage."

"Fine, just alert me when we identify the origin. Now what about our other forces?"

"Well, we have 20 of our Il-28 bombers enroute to make runs on the transports bringing ground forces ashore, and our F-15 fighters are now scrambling to protect ground forces, while other ground forces report no activity in their sectors. Most of our ally troops in the area are committed to the attack against Delta Beach."

"Ok.. Now I want a message sent to the Surdians.. Let them know that we need that armor as soon as possible! Also, get any truppen panzers or other armored vehicles we can get and form up a mobile unit. Place it about 5 kilometers away from the front, opposite Delta Beach. They continued hailing General Reygand requesting a drop zone, they were not far away now.

A staff officer had been looking for the general for some time, and it was even rumoured that the de-facto leader of Harding's socialist insurgents was killed by bombing. So it was quite a shock when the staff officer found the general speaking with a group of company commanders not far from the fighting by the landing site of the Leaderguard troops. The general quickly turned to see what all the fuss was about, and promptly cut the "stab", as staff officers in the army were called, off.

"Now calm the hell down Wilson. What are you so co-"

"General- We've been trying to find you all day! Apparently, Surdian paras are enroute, and will be here any moment! Surdian commander wants to know where we want em.."

"This is fantastic.. Tell the Surdians to drop the paras southeast of Lorris.. It appears that the Iron Crow forces are going to invest Constance, and roll us up from behind while those Leaderguard troops move directly on Carson. We need to stop those Iron Crow Troops!"

The general went back to the map table, joining the other officers in planning the day's operations..

A phone rings on the central mission dispatcher's desk. He picks it up, and after a few short words, hangs up the phone abruptly and nearly knocks over his chair to get up. He runs through a corridor to what appears to be a communications room. After speaking in near code to a woman at the desk, she toggles a few switches and then speaks into a boom mike attached to her headset:

"Now hear this.. Combat Alert.. Combat Alert.. This is not a drill.. All Alpha Tango pilots to your aircraft.."

Outside the large main complex building, there were a few moments of silence, followed by the sounds of screeching sirens and running feet. Tristan AFB is home to Tilsitsin's only squadron of F-117 Nighthawks.

The 18 pilots quickly mount their aircraft, and start their engines up. Within minutes, the aircraft are off. They have orders to engage any surface units they encounter out to sea, as it is now apparent that the Surdian forces are preparing to make large scale attacks against Tilsitsin. The pilots are nervous, and not one isn't scared. But they are prepared to do their duty..

The Su-34 have a crew of two(pilot + copilot), in the "arm-to-arm" position.
The Su-37 have a crew of one pilot.
As I understand from Tilsitsin's post, they must have found the crash site of one of the Su-37.
Taraskovyan pilots are equipped with "distress" emitters, which emits a signal on coded frequencies that is traced by the TDI sattelites.
The problem is that... well... no "coded" frequencies are 100% secure :(
And it requires pilot's activation, so if he was knocked out during the chute... :?

Inside rebel territory.

Nikita bailed out of his Su-37 fighter just in time. He struggled to save the machine, as it, hit by an Air-to-Air rocket from an enemy jet, fell towards the ground.
He bailed out at the last second. The plane hurled down and exploded, he was in the air, with his parachute...

The missile must have damaged the defensive revetment of the fuel tanks when it hit the plane, and the entire back l of the plane was ablaze. It exploded before reaching ground. A small metal shard, certainly incoming from the aircraft when it exploded hit Nikita's right leg. Another shard clinged on something metal on his suit.

Carried by the wind, Nikita landed a good 150 meters away from the crash site. He untached his parachute, and looked around. First thing, he tried to activate the distress emitter attached to his suit. But it was out...
The "cling" that he heard before must have been the sounds of the shard breaking the emitter...

The pilot bandaged his leg the best he could and started slowly moving out, trying to find a safe place to hide...

Topham looked at the captain that had just finished talking on the radio as if he were a teenager waiting patiently for permission to take out his dad's car.

"Well? What do they say?" Topham asked impatiently as the captain hesistated. "It looks like the Surdians out to sea have launched a volley of missiles towards the mainland" "Jesus.." Topham was shaken.. He knew that the war might escalate, but one of his worst fears was the needless deaths of civilians, if cities became targets.

"Captain, get a word out to naval joint command group. Tell them these landings of 2nd Corps need to go faster. We're just sitting ducks out here until we can move out, and the damn rebels are withdrawing their armor in preparation for another attack."

"I'll relay the message sir." The stab went back onto the radio.

I doubt they would have allowed you to land that easily...
And well, even an armed escort doesn't guarantee that the transports will be safe, after all - a well locked on missile will go pas the defenders and slam into the aircraft :\

Oh well!

As they were about to start the drop suddenly several missiles flew straight into the transport, the entire thing was destroyed utterly in a great ball of flame.

"Incomming missiles, i repeat incomming missiles fire Phoenix missiles emidietly, all escort planes break off and attack!" Several of the Justigator fighters had been shot down themselves, numbers were unknown the attack had been effective, however several of the planes survived and roughly two thirds of the paratroopers made it to the ground, but still 2000 of Surdias finest were dead before they even had a chanse to strike back. Roughly Half of the transport survived and headed back while the roughly 100 or so Justigator Fighters kept on fighting theire enemy after launching about 200 Aim 45-Phoenix missiles at theire adversaries, this was a dark moment for Surdia.

Back at the Imperial Palace of Surdia

"They did what!!!" Emperor Maximillian was furious "Why do they get involved we have no quarrels with them were only aiding a surpressed people, infact send that message out to all nations who oppose us, they are only standing in our way as we dissmantle hese unfortunate people from the cruel grip in which theire nation holds them. This is a war for freedom" However the thought almost made Maximillian sick.

"Also tell Tilsitsin that we will late forget their actions... Now GO!" Maximillian was still fueled with anger. "Yes my lord" They Guardsman scuttled away, eager to leave his furios Liege.

A lone man stood on the outer walkway several stories up on the control tower. His full-length coat fluttered in the wind as he held binoculars to his eyes, scanning the horizon. The only visible insignia on this man was the silver airforce wings on his crusher cap, with the emblem of Tilsitsin nestled in the middle. The "fried eggs" on the visor indicated his rank, that of a general. Hugo Everly was in his mid fifties, a tall and proud man. But today, he knew, would be a sad day for Tilsitsin..

An air traffic controller opened a door near him, and walked out to address the general.

"Sir, we've got the contacts incoming, looks like the wing is coming back."

The general had to ask, but his voice betrayed the fact that he didn't really want to when he did:

"How many?"

"Wing leader reports 28 aircraft entact and returning, three with substantial damage."

The general's heart sank to think that so many were possibly lost or dead. Fourteen aircraft lost. This was truly terrible.

"Verify that S&R teams are outbound, and report their status back to me. I'm going to watch for the group." The general turned away and continued scanning the sky towards the direction that 16th fighter group would be approaching from.

Rebel Command HQ, near Carson

A stab ran throuh the hallway with papers in both hands. The man was trying to find the general, and was almost in a state of panic that the man wasn't readily available. The officer bumped into a colonel in the tight hallway, who promply spilled half of his coffee on his tunic and began to curse loudly. Finally, the stab located the general in a small side office, trying to catch up on countless lost hours of sleep.

"General?.. General Reygand, sir? Sir, I apologize but you must wake up.. We have important news sir."

The general was groggy and had a splitting headache. Part of him wished the war would stop for eight hours, just so he could get some sleep.

"Go ahead captain, I hear you.."

"Sir, the cruise missile strikes at the beachhead seem to have done more than we intended. It seems that a missile actually landed square in General Topham's field HQ, and the deputy commander of the army has taken command and is apparently delaying further landings.. Looks like they were forced to delay an entire division of 2nd Leaderguard Corps from landing for fear of further missile or artillery strikes.

Oh, and the Surdians ran paradrops outside the capital a few hours ago. There was an air battle above, and we've got reports of quite a few transports and fighters down, but the Surdians are seting up a defense to face the Iron Crow troops in the southeast."

The general forgot his headache.

"Excellent.. Now is my mobile group ready for action?"

"Yes sir.. The unit is formed and under command of Colonel Biggs. He has roughly about 35 L-770s, 10 Gepards, 12 T-Panzer 1's, of which 3 are antitank models, and about 7,000 troops. The Surdian troops that first dropped in are also present and ready."

"Good. Now go and get me General Redding and Colonel Fargo on the line. We'll hit the mainlanders in the flank this afternoon with everything we have before they attempt to break out. Is there any sign that they are bringing in the foreign legion troops yet?"

"No sir, looks like the only other Tilsitsin troops on the island were from an early airborne drop, but they have dispersed.. Possibly special forces doing scounting work."

"Then we have to move fast.. Go, get em on the phone for me now.. I'll be out in a minute to talk to them."

The scene looked like a moonscape. for about three square miles, the ground was marked by large craters and small fires, still burning on piles of rubble that were once vehicles and scattered buildings. Dead soldiers and civilians were scattered about, with not a living person to be seen in any direction.

Out of the smoke, a small group of rebel soldiers can be seen moving through the streets of a small country town looking for survivors at the former headquarters of the Leaderguard Army. One of the NCOs in the group sees what he believes to be the missing Topham, lying motionless under a small pile of metal and earth. It is the general, and against all odds he is alive.

"General, can you hear me? Sir?"

"I can hear you son... Where is everybody.." The general was brused and had a concussion, but he was alive.

"Sir, thank god you're alive! A new CP has been set up about 5 miles from here, close to Nicholson Division HQ." The general began to try and get up as the man finished his words, and he began to falter as the troops rushed to him and helped him up.

"Is general Dixon in command?" "Yes sir... He took over after you were announced missing" "Let him know I'm on my way back, and I want a situation report." "Roger that sir.. But we need to get you a medic first."

At the premier's personal command bunker about 20 miles outside of Tilsitsin city, Premier Walters sat down at the head of a jet-black table in the middle of a dimly-lit room. Surrounded by members of the National Defense Council and the various heads of the armed services, the premier opens the strategy session to determine the future of the conflict.

"Now it is my understanding that General Topham is still missing?"

"No sir, general Topham was located about 15 minutes ago, and he's currently under medical care at the F.H.Q. He's eager to resume command, but they say he's pretty beat up. Nothing permanent though."

"That's the best news I've heard today.. Now Marshal Tennison, what is the current situation on the island?"

"The biggest problem we've got is the continued Surdian intervention. I think we've uilt up an effective alliance to prevent their further meddling, but it appears as though they've dropped enough troops in to prolong the conflict a bit.

Also, it appears as though Reygand is hitting the left flank of 1st Leaderguard Corps. 2nd Corps is still moving up and getting into position, so 1st Corps is stretched thin. 8th Leaderguard Motorized Division is on the left flank, and they seem to be holding for the time being.

Other than that, the situation is good. Allied forces are either destroying enemy units or advancing steadily. Just what we want."

"And what is the council's recommendation of where we go from here?"

"I recommend that we commit the 1st Foreign Legion Corps to battle. Even though these troops are part of the national reserve, we can't afford the chance that the Leaderguard troops get mauled in a long fight. In short, we need to tip the scales so far in our favor that this ends quick. Now that also means NBC commitment, if necessary."

the premier was shocked at the thought of even suggesting NBC weapons. Maybe against other people, but not against my own people..

"It won't come to NBC weapons, marshal. But what I do want done is the commitment of the entire airforce to this conflict. Our pilots will fly day and night if need be.we have several hundred fighters and bombers available, and we need to make use of them.. The gloves come off, marshal."

The marshal nodded as did the chief of the airforce.

"Now also see to it that the foreign legion troops get into the battle, and I mean soon.. I want them in the battle within 48 hours. Let's make this happen, gentlemen.."

And so it was about 10.000 surdian soildiers were now involved in this conflict. The three infantry legions and now two additional paratrooper legions. not to mention the fleet carrying the 8 legions of armour unable to get trough. But if this was enough would be remain to be seen, Emperor Maximillian was power hungry and warlike.

The two Elite units of Surdian Wildcards had been on the move, acting on theire own as they had not received any requested missions from the 'rebels'. They attempted to infiltrate enemy artillery positions, a few c4's and these would hopefully be taken care of, also the 10 snipers would hopefully minimise resistance. If not the remaining Wildcards would attack, and they usually excelled in most aspects of warfare so it probably wouldnt be a problem unless the artillery was heavilly guarded.

Four stories underground, beneath the main hangar complex at Nicholson AFB, in northwest Tilsitsin

The commander of the airforce, the slightly heavy Field Marshal Nicholson, sits perched in his leather executive chair watching the activity in the main situation room below him. The whole scene looks like something out of a cold war movie, as the main room is full of operators manning computers, with several large monitors dominating the front of the room, which display maps upon maps that are laden with unit information.

A large panel on the left wall has the squadron numbers of every squadron in the airforce. Each squadron's section on the panel is backlit by a certain color: Red indicates not fit or unready, yellow is in mission, and green is ready for mission. Usually, nearly all of the squadrons are lit green, with one or two either yellow or red for whatever reasons.

Today, the entire board is yellow, with the exception of three red squares.

"General, I want you to address the flight leaders for me.. Relay to them that this will be a demonstation for our people and for the world of our strength and resolve as one nation.. And tell them good luck and good hunting." The general came to attention before the marshal. "Yes sir."

All across the nation, aircraft were making their way towards the island with full payloads. Roughly 330 fighters and 250 bombers were enroute. Surely, with this massive demonstration of power, the rebellion could not last..

Staff Sergeant Crump surveyed the field through his periscope from within the L-770 tank he was commanding as it crept forward towards enemy positions. The rebel ofensive west of the landing area was going well. So far, the only resistance they had encountered was light motorized infantry from the 8th Leaderguard Motorized Division. The troops fought well, but were forced to retreat in the face of armor. Not just that, but Crump was really impressed by the professionalism of his Surdian allies that were fighting with him. Each armored company was assigned a Surdian infantry platoon which protected it, as right now every single tank was valuable to the rebels.

A Surdian junior officer suddenly scrambled up to Crump's track, motioning for him to stop.

"Sergeant! Hold your units here, we've got dug in AT teams up ahead. We'll handle them, just sit tight."

Crump nodded and radioed his platoon leader about the situation. The Surdians were good about making sure any threats to the armor were taken care of, and they sure didn't mind us putting fire on entrenched infantry..

With a scream of fury the AV-88 overfly the heavy armour of South Carson and begin their Heavy bombing campaign, precsion weaponry picking out vital targets sent to them by the Tilsitsin goverment.

"My god.. They're actually retaliating with fighters.." Field marshal Nicholson's mouth was gaping wide open. He just couldn't believe that the Surdians would retaliate in such strength. Dealing with the few fighters and air defense pieces the rebels had on hand was one thing, but engaging another country's forces in open battle was another.

"Sir, shall I authorize our interceptors and escorts to engage?" General Robbins was the marshal's inspector of fighter forces, and one of the foremost air combat tacticians in the world. "We have over the island currently 56 Su-27s, 40 Su-47s, 79 Is-39s and 42 F-15s we can order to attack the Surdian fighters with."

"Yes, authorize it. Bombers will continue making runs on rebel positions, but all fighters will move to meet this new threat. I also want those stealth fighters of ours that are flying patrol along the coast to move in. Tell them to seek and angage any Surdian carriers that they encounter. Also general, contact joint naval command and advise them of the situation. Our navy has been silent too long, and they need to get into this fight."

"Yes sir." The general snapped his heels and walked out of the marshal's office.

Joint Forces Command HQ, Tilsitsin City

Admiral Benson Cartwright walked down the long hallway, seemingly through endless corridors. He never really realized how large the Joint Forces Command Center was. Finally, the admiral, dressed in his formal walking-out tunic and trousers with a naval officer's foul weather jacket, came to the end of the hall to a door marked "Command Element", which was guarded by two army sergeants. He promptly displayed his ID to them, and immediately one snapped to attention and saluted as the other opened the door for him.

He walked in to find the senior staff standing grouped around a large display monitor, showing the current situation.

"Admiral.. Good, now we can move on." The army chief of staff was quick to speak with the admiral. "With the curent situation, we have come to the conclusion that an interservice and multinational strike must take place against the Surdians." The admiral's eyes got wider as the general went on.

"We came to the conclusion that if the Brittanian and Iron Crow forces were also to participate in a full assault against the Surdian fleet, then losses for our navy would be at a minumum. Everyone else here agrees on this, and with your consent, we'll advise the premier immediately."

The admiral walked over silently to the situation map to look it over for himself. If the navy did attack, the risk seemed high. But if they didn't, there was a possibility the Surdians would try to land their mechanized forces. Or worse, they'd get the first move in and attack before we could. Such a difficult situation. But the risk of escalation was much more imperative..

"General, I can't agree with that. I'll have to recommend waiting and further monitoring of the situation. Them coming to us is one thing, but going and sinking their fleet could ignite a wider war."

The general showed visible signs of frustration, but he looked away and nodded.

"So we let the airforce get mauled while your navy does nothing?"

"General, the airforce can handle itsself.. But I don't believe your views should force us into a full war or even a nuclear exchange with the Surdians.. I'm sorry Erik.."

No one said a word for minutes.

Armadillo (IFV) Are rolling into the area to establish a Refuel and Rest, and waiting for wessel groups to report back....They have been moving tactically as fast as the open terrain would allow, but, now are with in 3miles of wessel recon groups...

Actually, Having an economy only two levels above mine does not make you a superior Country, Yes having two thirds of your Navy present is more than my 2nd Fleet, but Bare in mind as soon as you open fire on Brittanian vessels, thats an act of war- and my WHOLE Navy would be mobilised. You have tupper hand now, but as soon as you attack me, you lose your upper hand, Also about you being militaristic, thats fine, Im quite a peaceful country, But I have just completed a Total upgrade of my armed Forces. I would surely have more personnel in my armed forces becuase of my bigger population- if you have a high percentage of your total population in your military, you could not sustain your economy so well......Rant over, just pointing out you are not the most powerful Nation taking part in this....:P

"The blockade is secure Sir, the Surdians have not attempted to break through our lines, nor push any of their vessels through our screen. Yes, they heavily outnumber us. It seems anything between 60-70% of their entire Naval force....I do not believe we will require further reinforcments, If they attack, then it is an act of hostility to which we will respond in full......Acknowleged. AV-88 Harriers have been running twenty Four hour bombing runs...Many rebel strongholds have been eliminated. Brittanian ground forces have linked up with Tilsitsin Commandos along South-West Carson, and are launching attacks at the heart of the rebel command....We expect the Surdian fleet to make some sort of move....if they do not they have come a significant way to "look" threatening...Yes sir...I understand..."

At the Imperial Palace in Surdia.

"But sir... are you sure?" Maximillian looked at the gurdsman, he wasnt used to his orders being questioned. "When I order you to recall the fleet, then i really mean it". The guardsman yet again spoke against his liege "But sir what about all our soildiers already on land in Tilsitsin, we have nearly 10.000 of our finest in action without posibility for extraction. "Now listen here, im not backing out of this war... I should not need to explain myself to you nor any man! Its all part of my plan! Now carry out my orders and then consider yourself relieved from your post! Now Venator!"
The guardsmen then quickly sendt the messega for the Surdian fleet to head home.

At the current location of the Surdian Travias Fleet.

"Admiral the Emperor is ordering us to withdraw, we are to leave for home port emidietly" The admiral smiled "I see, was there any special greeting for me sailor?".The man looked confused "As a mather of fact there was, Alea Iacta Est, but what does that mean Admiral?" The sailor didnt seem to have a clue what was going to happen. "You'll se son, you'll see, now signal to all ships and aircraft we are heading home, also radio Alea Iacta Est, to all Surdian commanders on tilsitsin soil, were going home"

And so with that the entire Surdian battleforce started moving away from the small island, Aircraft recieved orders only to evade and not return fire unless highly nessecary.

A message was also sendt to General Reygand.

The Nation of Surdia supports you still, do not falter. 10.000 of our finest troops are with you.

Replacing the equipment and returning to the bridge, he barked an order.

"None."

"Hmph, Any signs of Surdian Submarines in the area?"

"We have not detected any."

"Why are they bloody well withdrawing......they wouldn't unless they had a tactical advantage in doing so.....Advise the Tilsitsin HQ of this development..."

So a few questions:

1. What is the current position/location of battleforces.
All of them: land, sea, air.
I would especially like to know what is the situation on fronts on the island itself.
As I understand - the Surdian fleet is "withdrawing"?

2. I understand that you've decided not to RP the taking of my downed pilots prisonner?

Infantry Legions - 6000, fewer now with casualties infantrymen are fighting for the 'rebels. 2000 are close assault, 2000 are Anti tank/heavy weapons specialist, 1000 are close support and and 1000 are anti air troops.

Paratroopers - less than 4000 paratroopers heavily dog in with massive quantities of anti armour and anti air and anti infantry weapons, joust about anti anything. Also they have all recieved Commando training.

Special Ops - 20 men, best of the best in Surdia HAndpicked by the emperor from birth and trained. 10 With sniper rifles and 10 with various close assault weapons. All are carrying explosives. they are attempting to sabotage any enemy sites on the islans. Succes not yet confirmed.

Overall Situation:

Socialist leaders on the Tilsitsinian island of Harding Beach have gathered up enough support to rebel against the Tilsitsinian government, with the intent of setting up an independent socialist regime. General Reygand, a former officer in the Tilsitsinian army, has become the defacto leader of the new government and it's armed forces, which consist largely of former Tilsitsinian soldiers. The "islanders" find that the primary motivation driving them to rebel is what they perceive is an increasingly oppressive and intolerable central government based on the mainland, much like the Taiwan situation in the real world.

Rebel Forces:

Rebel forces are made up of former members of the Tilsitsinian army, with some outside support from other nations. The rebel forces have formed an army and airforce, but no navy. The largest branch is the army, which posseses about 70,000 troops. The airforce contains about 8,000 troops, including air defense systems operators.

Rebel Operations

The rebels have focused their operations in three key areas, listed in order of importance:

1) The "landing zone" directly southwest of Carson, where Allied forces have made an amphibious landing. This is where General Reygand has decided to commit 85% of his available armor and most of his infantry. The rebels are currently attacking the left flank of the landing area with their armor and Surdian infantry in an effort to force the landing off the island, while two understrength rebel infantry divisions contain the landing force proper.

2) In the Lorris area, defending the rebel capital. The rebels have placed their main reserves here, with an infantry division and some support troops in the area. The rebel airforce is also stationed entirely at Lorris international airport.

3) About 15km east of the city of Sagewick. This is where the rebels have placed their MHQ and stationed their strategic reserve, the 2nd Air Assault Division, containing 13,200 veteran troops and numerous anti aircraft missile and gun positions.

Rebel operations, for obvious reasons, focus on both the defense and economy of force as absolutely necessary for any type of victory. General Reygand has at his disposal roughly 40 tanks and 28 SP artillery pieces, in addition to numerous other light armored, SP anti-aircraft and transport vehicles. The ultimate goal of rebel planning is to delay the Tilsitsin forces long enough to allow foreign intervention to tip the scales in thier favor. The current rebel attack against the beachhead, while it may ultimately prove unsuccessful, is simply an effort to keep the Tilsitsinian forces from massing quickly against them and crushing them in the open field.

"Allied" Forces

The allied forces fighting to put down the rebellion on Harding Beach Island are made up, in large part, of loyalist Tilsitsinian forces, with allied countries such as Iron Crow, Terasovka and Europa Brittania commiting additional forces ranging from air to ground to naval units to the effort.

Tilsitsin has specifically earmarked the following units for the reconquest of the island from the rebellion:

1)The Leaderguard Army:
This army of over 117,000 is considered the elite unit of the Tilsitsinian army. It is a fully armored and lavishly equipped army, featuring two full armored corps of three divisions each, with a total of 3 of these 6 divisions being armored. The army also has excellent organic support elements, including two oversized heavy armor battalions, an assault aviation brigade, an MP battalion and supply & repair units.

2)1st Foreign Legion Corps (1.FLC)
This highly decorated and trained unit helps form the backbone of the Tilsitsinian "Rapid Response Force", whcih also includes 2.FLC and the 1st Assault Division (Sep). The unit contains 60,000 troops in three 9,000-man "legions", with the remaining troops devoted to corps-level units such as engineer, aviation, supply artillery and anti-aircraft. 1.FLC is known as one of the most tenacious and hard-fighting units in the army, and it's troops are trained to insert via air, land and sea with equal effect.

3)The 111th Corps Group (Special)
Elements of this formation, which commands all of Tilsitsin's special forces troops, have been assigned to operations on the island. All 8,000 men of the 11th SF Regiment have been sent to the island for missions, as have up to 200 men of the enigmatic "Goraya Group", known chiefly for their unofficial asassination and kidnapping exploits.

4)Tilsitsin has devoted it's entire navy and airforce to operations against the island. Naval elements are listed elsewhere in this thread, and the Tilsitsinian airforce currently has on strength approximately 350 fighters, 280 bombers and 192 transport aircraft.

The Dominion of Iron Crow has committed the following to the effort:

1)3rd Talon of the Iron Crow
This regimental-sized unit of infantry is approximately 2,100 strong, and includes HQ, support, engineer and anti-aircraft units.

2)Soaring Hawk Squadron
Contains various fighter, bomber, transport and support aircraft.

Europa Brittania has committed it's 2nd Naval Fleet to the allied effort, which has been primarily occupied with the task of preventing a Surdian breakthrough of the blockade. Europa Brittania has also committed a landing force, tasked with aiding the beleaguered Leaderguard Army.

Tarasovka has committed an Air expeditionary force of mixed fighters, bombers, transports and tankers to aid in the effort, providing Tilsitsinian forces with aerial fire support.

Allied Operations

Allied operations have focused heavily on several things:

1)Preventing further foreign intervention on behalf of the rebels.

2)Effectively blockading the island and cutting it off from any material or personnel support.

3)Assaulting the island at several points simultaneously, forcing the rebel command to stretch their already limited resources to the limit.

Allied air forces continue to pummel the rebels day and night from the air, but losses for the Tilsitsinians are becoming dangerous. The Teresovkan air force has proved the most effective thus far in the air.

On the ground, the main allied effort is concentrated in the area directly southwest of Carson, where the Tilsitsinian Leaderguard Army, supported by two marine brigades and a Brittanian landing force, has landed on the beach and is attempting to break out towards Carson, where the army is intended to linkup with 1.FLC for an advance on the rebel capital at Lorris.

1.FLC is in the process of airdropping and airlanding into the Sagewick area, where it's primary mission is securing the international airport prior to a drive on Carson.

In the southeast, the Iron Crow forces have landed around Constance, and are consolidating their forces in preparation for an assault on Lorris, which is heavily defended by Surdian and rebel troops.

Admiral Jericho slowly sat himself down at the table, taking a quick sip of Water as he coughed slightly. Across from him Captain and Fleet SubCommander David Regin sat.

"The Surdians have withdrawn, for a reason we cannot yet fathom. but we must not dwell on it, we must continue with what we have come here to do."

Regin Nodded.

"The 2nd Fleet will remain here, enforcing the blockade, but now we take more involvment. I have ordered a furhter 3500 men ashore, to bring the total commited Brittanian Force to 8,000, all from the 212th HighGuard. Heavy armour is now being rapidly shipped in, mostly in the form of long range Artillery Cannons and Challenger MkII Battle Tanks."

"I have been in contact with The Defence Minister, and he will decide wether further Naval presence is required, specifically considering my request for a further Atlantis Class Carrier...The Europa, tied to 1st Fleet is avalible...I also have requested further supplies of Precsion Bombing material....Tonight twenty four hour Bombing runs will commence, and all AV-88 Harriers will launch."

Regen contined to listen, before adding-

"I concur, our greatly improved manpower presence on the island will give the Rebel contingent far more to handle- though it must be added we have yet to engage Surdian forces, for as soon as shot is fired, it is unofficially war. I have already moved the the Theodore and her escorts eastwards, And will be commencing a "Puppet landing" twenty miles south of Constance. It will greatly stretch the Rebel elements."

"Tonight, I will order the strategic bombing of at Lorris international airport, giving our AV-88s unprecedented freedom in the air, and leaving only the rebel AA weaponry to fear." added Jericho.

"DAMN IT ALL TO HELL!" Reygand slammed his field phone on the desk and turned, walking away from his desk towards a door to the outside. His face was bright red, and it was evident that he was not happy with developments.

A stab caught up with the angry general as he exited the building. "Sir, is it possible that the Surdians have another plan?" The general turned towards him with an angry eye. "Captain, it may not matter.. They were our sole source of support, and now they're gone. Yes, they still have troops here, but we were depending on them to get us more substantial forces.. Even if they come back, it will be too late."

"But general, what ab-" the general thrust his hand across the captain's chest. "Quiet.. Do you hear that?" The captain didn't understand what the general asked, but the general was hearing aircraft engines. The deep whine got louder after a few seconds, and the sound became distinct to Reygand.. A-10s!

"Get down!" Reygand yelled, diving for cover behind one end of the headquarters building as the distinctive burping sound of an A-10's cannon began to roar. Reygand glanced to the side as he saw one man coming out of the building, his chest turning into a puff of red mist. He closed his eyes, not wanting to see anymore. The general passed out as he felt a sharp pain in his right leg.

Quick reminder on the current status of the Taraskovyan Expeditionary Force.

The force consists of:

5 Tu-160 intercontinental heavy bombers.

10 AN-225 Cargo planes filled with medical personel, ammunition, etc.
The cargo planes are loaded with ammunition(missiles, bombs, etc.), spare parts(to repair the damaged planes), medical supplies. I can't give precise figures, coz I am having a hard time figuring it all out, but the maximum carrying capacity of an AN-225 is 270tons, so you have 2700 tons with 10 planes :shock:

15 Su-47 Berkuts stealth fighters.

44 Su-34 fighter/bombers(39 operational, 5 being repaired)

68 Su-37 fighters(62 operational, 6 being repaired)

20 Il-78m air-refueler tankers.

Meanwhile, at the Tilsitsinian airbases, "occupied" by Taraskovyan Expeditionary forces, the Taraskovyan mechanics have finished reparing the aircraft damaged in the previous raids.
Ammunition has been unloaded from the AN-225 cargo planes and stocked in the bases for future use by Taraskovyan and allied forces.

Another night passes on Harding Beach island.. The skies across the island burn bright tonight, as for another straight evening the island is consumed in the fire that the bombs, bullets and artillery have brought.

The near-nonexistent rebel airforce ventures out once again to do battle with areal invaders, as two F-15s can be seen taking off to do battle with the hordes of incoming aircraft. Tonight would be another hard night for the rebellion, indeed. And with news that General Reygand has fallen spreading throughout the media like wildfire, many heads in the rebellion will no doubt be hanging low..

1:43AM Local Time, in General Topham's Command Post

General Topham continued to strain over a set of maps as he sat at a makeshift map table, with only a small one-bulb lamp to illuminate the command tent. His fingers traced over the lines of his troops, from left to right moving over the 8th Leaderguard Motorized Division, whose left shoulder rested on the sea, and then onto the Walters Guard armored division, then onto the Tilsitsin Guard mechanized division, whose right shoulder rested on the sea. These three units formed a great crescent, protecting the 60 by 10 mile landing site from being pushed to the sea.

Topham glanced at the left of the crescent, noticing the large red arrow pushing into the 8th Motorized.. This was that damn rebel armor. But he remembered that while the 8th was nearly routed, the timely intervention of Brittanian infantry and the Manticores of the 201st LG Heavy Armor Battalion turned the tide. Now, with the rebel armor nearly defeated, the full weight of the 2nd Leaderguard Corps would be unleashed in the morning, and no doubt with additional support from the excellent Brittanian troops.

Once again, Topham traced a path with his finger.. Starting from the current position of the 2nd Corps safely behind the crescent, through the right flank of the crescent, and curving out and to the left.. Straight towards Carson. Topham grinned, and thought to himself that now with the plans laid, he could catch a minute or two of sleep. He retired to his cot and fell asleep moments later.

Here's the battle plan and strike force composition:

4-6 Il-78M fuel tankers for air refueling, they are covered by 10-12 Mig-31BM fighters.
2-3 Tu-160 bombers, they are covered by 6-8 Mig-31BM fighters.
20-24 Su-34 bombers, armed with Air-To-Ground missiles and 2 anti-ground cruise missiles per plane(to target the heavy AA positions)
30-40 Su-37 fighters, to cover the Su-34 bombers.
5-7 Su-47 Berkuts, for scouting and anti-air engagement
10-15 Mig-31BM fighters are to accompany the strike group, and to serve as "detectors"(they detect up to 320 km around).

As usual - the Su-47 Berkuts and Su-37 engage any hostile air presence, the Su-34 use their anti-ground cruise missiles to target heavy and medium AA positions. Once that done - the Tu-160 start carpet bombings on enemy positions, taking out a bit everything.
Once the Tu-160 have "unloaded", the Su-34 make a last pass, bombing all they can find, and the "unloaded planes head back to base.
If all goes well - most of the fighters(Su-37, Su-47 and Mig-31BM) wouldnt have used their entire payload...

The group that did not participate in the attack remains battle ready to support the ground advance itself while the first group is reloading.
Once the second group needs to reload, the first group which should have already reloaded goes back into combat, and so on, etc.

This fleet was larger mostly to the precense of a larger portion of transport ships, Overhead flew a massive formation of aircraft.

This time, an impressive amount indeed, 93 C-141 carried roughly 14.000 Paratrooper Commandos. The fleet held 20.000 infanterist and 2000 APC and another 1000 Tanks. The fleet headed for the Tilsitsin Mainland whilst the airforce now consisting of, 965 assorted fighters, 5 for every singel C-141 also roughly 20 Cleansers had been sent to strike at Tilsitsin ground forces. Now Surdia was commited.

The report dropped from Premier Walters' hand, falling page by page almost in slow motion. He felt his legs give way from under him, as though they had simply melted away.. Forcing the weary premier to fall backwards into his chair. His mouth was gaping wide open, and his mind was full of thoughts, running across his counciousness almost instantly. Senior Field Marshal Tennison threw open one of the two large 12-foot-tall Oak doors to the office, hurriedly rushing in with his fist clenching some papers.

"Premier? I understand you've seen this about the Surdians.. The chiefs of the services are heading to their wartime posts, and I've ordered the National Defense Council to place all civil and military authorities on full war footing."

Silence. The field marshal was waiting for a response from the withdrawn premier, but none came.

"Sir, you must give the order.. Your people need you. Now, sir.."

The premier turned to the marshal. He was white as a ghost.

"Marshal, recall the Leaderguard Army. Tell Topham he is needed here at home." The marshal was shocked at this response. "But-"

"Trevor, listen to me- I trust your judgement, but the recapture of the island will now take a back seat to the defense of our country proper.. And tell Nicholson that i want all aircraft recalled. General Topham was furious. First, the problem with getting all his forces in working order after a beach landing they were ill prepared for. Then, just as they prepare to strike a hammer blow and crush the rebellion, they are ordered to pull out their tanks, troops and vehicles and prepare to board amphibious craft for a trip home, as the 2nd Foreign Legion Corps, of all units, takes up their former positions.

But Topham was a soldier, and soldiers follow orders. He jumped in his command track and signaled to the driver to head back to the beach landing, where they would board a transport back to the mainland.

Neither the T.E.F. nor the TDI have been consulted by Tilsitsinian High Command on the use of chemical weapons.
It is either a rebel provocoation, due to their current state of desesperation...
Which is the version that the TDI and the TNDF are inclined to believe.
This act of desesperation might have been undertaken by the rebels to deter Tilsitsinian allies and bring disruption into the "alliance".
And seems they have had their share of success.

We urge the allies to remain united and try to clarify this situation.
We also request the Tilsitsinian Prime Minister to make an official comment.

Or the Tilsitsinian military has really used chemical weapons.

The TDI is surprised with how "untimed" the attack was. It seems that it was carried out right when the rebels thought that they have the world's attention on them.
Such an attack is suicidal for Tilsitsin, and we do not think the Tilsitsinian Premiere and highest ranked military commanders are suicidal.
So we remain convinced that it was a big set up by the rebels, who just prove how unhuman and rotten they are! :evil:

The clanking and noise of several cameras and news crews fills the grand reception room, at the center of which stands out the Premier of Tilsitsin, seated behind a simple desk and flanked behind him by the heads of all the military services, including Marshal Tennison, the powerful head of the National Defense Council.

"Good afternoon, people of Tilsitsin. I join you today to condemn the use of weapons of mass destruction that we all know were carelessly and cowardly unleashed on the citizens of Lorris. "Mr. Premier, it would seem as though we must come to the realization that we are loosing control over the situation. Reygand is no fool.. He knows that if he could pin this on us, legitimately, that we'd be forced to recognize them. He's simply upped the ante."

The premier was livid, but he managed to restrain himself.

"So now what am I to do? Tell my allies that I can't control my own forces? That the whole country is about to break out into civil war?"

"Certainly not sir.. Tell them the truth. Units of our army defected and did this on orders of the rebel command, seeking quick resolution to the conflict." The Premier wasn't so confident. "But you know, they'll see us as weak. This could invite further armed intervention.. And with me loosing control of my own forces more every day, this may be a disaster yet!"

The marshal knew better though. Now was not the time to panic or loose one's cool.

"Sir, keep in mind this: even if we lost everyone on the island now to the rebellion, we still have the Leaderguard, the entire airforce, and the navy. We aren't dead in the water. If we loose a few foreign legions and national guard troops in the process, certainly this is the price we pay for keeping the nation from breaking out into civil war.."

The premier paused, then nodded. He then turned quickly, walking towards his office. He needed to make a few phonecalls to shore up his support.

General Reygand watched the broadcast, a broad smile across his face. As the tilsitsinian premier's speech ended, he turned off the television and turned to his aids.

"There it is.. Did you see the look on his face? I knew it! Gentlemen, I'm now quite sure that this war will be ended soon. Right about now, that bastard Tennison is telling the premier that some of his precious special forces operators have defected.. And that he doesn't know why!"

"But sir, even though we've gained the services of a few legionaries and operators, I don't see how this was a wise move.. I mean, killing t-"

"Keep in mind Colonel- We are at war. War for our very survival. And I don't give a damn about international support anymore, because it is obvious that no one other than Surdia is willing to take on the tilsitsinian army. Due to the currently undergoing peace negotiations between Tilsitsin and HBI (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=51389&start=0), the TEF operations have been halted. The strike force still remains in combat ready status and ready to repel any attack, but is not engaging any opponents.

The TEF reenforcements are still en route towards Mainland Tilsitsin, they have orders not to engage and only return fire when fired upon.

At the Surdian Flagship

"Ahh I see, well i knew we could rely on the Emperor he must have known something like this would happen, relay this to Emperor MAximillian", "Yes Commander" Was the sole reply as the sailor moved off.

I come to you tonight in order to clarify the current situation regarding Harding Beach Island, and inform the nation on the directives I have issued regarding this sad series of events. As you know, there is currently a delegation attending peace talks concerning the conflict on HBI. But as the days pass, it becomes clearer and clearer that the will of the people will be ignored. Many nations have issued threats and ultimaums towards us, saying that we have no business in HBI. I am here tonight to tell them all that we do."

The hall erupts in one large cheer. Applause fills the room for minutes, but quickly dies down as the Premier waves a hand to the crowd.

"When I sent our delegation to the talks, it was my heartfealt and true intention that peace should result from these talks. And if it was the will of the people that HBI be free from Tilsitsinian authority, then that would be respected. But it is abundantly clear that this will not happen. The will of the people on HBI are ignored, and subject to the iron fist of one power-hungry man. But I stand here tonight to also tell you that his grip of terror on our people will be broken."

Again, the hall erupts in applause as the Premier once again motions for quiet.

"I have therefore directed, that after loosing confidence in the ability of the peace talks to solve the problem in HBI, that our armed forces resume their efforts to secure the island from rebel control. As I speak these words, a great armada of aircraft, ships and troops is engulfing the island in a single great effort by ourselves and our allies to seize the island from the iron grip of the rebel leadership. Let all who hear me know that while I stand here before you, HBI will not be permitted to slip into the control of an oppressive and unlawful regime!"

Camera lights flash furiously as the hall erupts into a kind of euphoria. The word is given.

Topham looked up in the night, as aircraft upon aircraft roared by at low level. This is the most impressive thing I've ever seen.. What power!

"I knew there was a reason that JFC told us to keep at least a division embarked on boats, but I didn't believe we'd be going back in this fast!" The general looked visibly excited, anticipating a fast and daring campaign for the future.

His adjutant, Colonel William Spears, stood beside him. "General, we'll be landed with the Walters Tank Division in the next hour, and the other divisions of 1st Corps are enroute by sea. Are your orders for 2nd Corps the same?"

"Yes, they are Bill.. We shouldn't need the other corps of the army with us, because this time the 2nd Foreign Legion Corps is already there to support our tanks. That, and it looks like the Premier has ordered the new 7th Army to follow us in.."

The Colonel thought that would happen.. The 7th Army was the new formation specifically built around the 5th Airborne Corps and the brand new 10th Mechanized Corps. Surely, the airborne would see much action in the renewed campaign.

"Oh, also general.. The navy reports that we should have no intervention from threat naval or air forces. The navy is still supported by the Brittanians, and Admiral Brown assures me that no ships or aircraft will break through his screen."

Topham smirked at the colonel. "Well, we'll just see about that.. All I care is that I get ashore with enough tanks to kick those rebels and Surdians in the ass!"

The rebel army corporal operating the radar station nearly had a heart attack. From what he knew, there was a cease fire going on. But the screen claimed different. the corporal stared at the screen as blip after blip moved northeast from the mainland.

Oh my god! I have to call the Captain! The corporal nervously grabbed the phone, calling up to battery HQ.

"Sergeant? Yes!.. This is Corporal Jackson from post 26! Yes, I see them all! Roger that, sergeant!"

The corporal was so nervous that he didn't even hang up the phone, simply letting it fall near the edge of the table. He began to gain back his composure though as the training took over. He began to relay targetting information to the 3 batteries of SA-2s he was linked to. He processed the information, and gave clearance for firing..

Within seconds, several SA-2s began to streak upwards towards the cloud of oncoming aircraft. The skies above were full of mixed formations of bombers fighters and transports. After a minute, several flares could be seen streaking alongside aircraft as explosions began to burst among them.

"Sir, we're getting sensor readings of what appears to be intense military build up in the area of the Tilsitsin/HBI conflict," says the copilot of the Valinon Clipper Windjammer jet currently carrying the diplomatic situation inspectors to both Tilsitsin and HBI.
"I was afraid of this. Begin projecting our diplomatic courier ID signature comm burst. And send a transmission back to Lady Rolt," the copilot first flicks on the courier ID, then opens a channel to the UN Embassy.
Meanwhile the courier ID begins to repeat its message over all channels.

"Attention diplomatic flight, this is Tilsitsin Air Command Controller.. You are authorized to land at Tilsitsin International Airport only. Be advised that deviation of course into combat areas will void all safety measures. Tilsitsin ACC, out."

"Understood, Tilsitsin Control. But we must remind you that six of our inspectors are assigned to Harding Beach. Lady Rolt feels that it is only fair that both parties receive equal view in the eyes of Valinon as the mediator of this conflict. If we cannot transport them, we ask that an alternative be found."

General Reygand's personal Citation jet landed almost to the second that Tilsitsinian aircraft crossed over the ocean to HBI. The door to the Citation flopped open, and Reygand immediately popped out, hurrying himself to a waiting humvee. He quickly jumped in, and the vehicle sped off, flanked by an escort of several armed humvees.

The general leaned over to the stab officer in the vehicle with him.

"So what is the current situation?"

"Sir, it's pretty grim.. Looks like the entire Tilsitsin airforce is back, but this time it looks as though the navy has become more active, and we have reports that the Tilsitsinians are going to deploy up to 200,000 more troops here in the next week."

The general fell silent, and turned his head to watch the passing buildings. This was going to be a long ride.

The navy also reports that it will be deploying it's first Seawolf-class attack sub within the next week, and this will become the flag unit of 1st Submarine Flotilla."

The vote on the Valinon declaration of war has ended. The bill passed almost unanimously in the Congress of the Commons, and by a strong majority in the Congress of Lords. Currently Valinon is dispatching the HMS New Stuttgart heavy-dreadnought and the rest of its Star Armada task force. They shall deliver 3 battlegroups of Valinon soldiers as well as one regiment of Valinon heavy assault forces. Air cover shall be provided via orbital forces using Longshard fighters and Needle-class modular aerospace fighters with various configurations.
Valinon forces under Field Marshal von Richter shall arrive in one day (1 RL hour, although I may have to break of RPing shortly after.)

In response to the declaration of war, Tilsitsinian national nuclear forces have been placed on war-alert, and all Valinon personnel in Tilsitsinian-held territory have been detained in conjunction with the terms of the Geneva Convention accords until further notice. Furthermore, Tilsitsinian diplomats have been sent to ally-nations on an emergency basis to seek military support for it's defense.

As a show of goodwill towards Valinon and at the request of our respected allies, Tilsitsin will shortly allow passage out of Tilsitsin proper of all Valinon personnel. Valinon nationals on HBI will be permitted to operate there until further notice for humanitarian purposes.

The Empire of Valinon will now take applicants for political asylum due to this conflict. Also, shipments of humanitarian aid are being transported to HBI.

I have an idea. Would you stop the war for a week? And i have
reason. I Think the people who should end this Conflict is the
people of HBI themselves. I mean a election. I think that they
should be the ones to decide. An election would consist of two

support you. And there should be three international moderators.
