Fixed. :p
Fixed. :p
It is bigger to. Its about 5 feet from hilt to blade tip. With leather wrapped hardwood hand and a half grip, its forged by hand from Damascus steel and can bend 4-6 inches in either direction and snap right back in to place. The sword has 6 inch hand guards that are almost an inch thick where they meet the blade and weighs about 10 lbs. The blade has a 3 foot long fuller that starts 6 inches from the top and bottom of the blade. It has a hardwood and stainless steel scabbard and came with a 100% black leather shoulder frog (harness). It is a beautiful work of art and a very deadly killing tool that I had to register with the State Government to own.
I named it Longtooth.

Off topic, but that sounds remarkably heavy for a 5 foot sword - I've seen examples literally half the weight. Or is that supposed to be a 5 foot blade? Either way, the handguards sound completely overbuilt, and the weight seems much too high.
Still, I imagine it looks impressively scary.

The blade is 4 feet, and the weight is including the scabbard. The is on the heavy side but its balanced toward the point and really easy to swing, you are right with the hand guard being over done but it just adds to the impressiveness of it. I am going to get pics this weekend.

Do you guys have any sort of program for taking on small criminal or civil matters? I did a stint in criminal law, it was awesome. Even when it was just docket court I came out feeling like I was fucking hardcore.
Though there is still the distinction between barristers and solicitors in the UK, no?
Some universities here have something like that, we have a student law advice thing instead; people can come in and get simple advice on legal matters from second and third year students. It's pretty cool.
And yeah, there's still the distinction between solicitors and barristers, but there are also solicitor advocates, who are solicitors who have rights of audience in higher courts.

Mhmm. How much does it weigh less the scabbard? I was mentally comparing it to something like this (http://www.myarmoury.com/review_aa_dane.html), which weighs in at about 4.5 lbs, and is five feet long in total. Or this (http://www.armor.com/sword156.html), slightly heavier at 6 lbs.

This was taken in fall '08. My senior season of football wasn't too great: 2-7. We missed playoffs for the first time in 13 years.

Me in front of Plymouth Rock. Taken in Dec. 2007. I saw a Patriots game around that same time, it was very enjoyable.

Taken around May or June '08.

Taken in March '08. The theme were doing for the event I was in was 80s clothing, so I dressed up like Brian Johnson from AC/DC.

Plymouth is nice, but I like the cape towns much more...places like Truro, Ptown, Yarmouth, and Chatham

I'm the one in blue, and about to get my ass kicked. I'm entirely in loaner gear here, but now I've got a lot of my own rig together.

It says two players, but we did it at the convention with eight. An overall-commander on each side who played the cards, plus commanders on each side for the right wing, left wing, and the centre.
I can tell, I didn't even know they had conventions.
Oh, Hell yes. Some of those games require special company: http://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/4815

Sounds complex.
It is actually very easy compared to most of the games there. They taught me it in about twenty minutes.
Jesus christ.
Just 10 players, a 24 square-feet board, 1800 units, and 1200 hours of play time. I cannot tell you what play is like, though. The most complex game I have ever played (A World at War, which is much easier than The Campaign for North Africa) has 196 pages of rules.
Often?
Conventions happen every few months, with the GMT convention being twice a year.

Fuck me, the most complex game I've ever played is Risk.

After playing for a while, the games become easier. If you wanted something to start with that is pretty simple, this is good: http://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/27708

Most gamers I talked to do not consider that a "serious" game. Still, I like it. I even own this edition: http://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/23010

That reminds me of a Diplomacy convention I once heard about.
What they did is rented out an entire hotel. They had a lot of players, who stayed there over the weekend. Instead of running a lot of games in which each player controlled a country, as is standard for cons, they divided the players between the countries, so not only were there sovereigns, there were generals, ambassadors, and other staff.
That, I imagine, would have made the negotiations between factions quite interesting indeed.

Why my friend? Why does mankind do anything? Is it simply to see to it that things are done, that he does not get bored? Friend, if I were not doing something, then I would be quite bored indeed.
The "how" would be a much more interesting answer, but it would also give away my secret plans, so I must give you a rain check.
