The last time i can remember watching MTV on a regular basis was the Beavis and Butthead/Remote Control/MTV Oddities days. Seems like ages ago.
I was a regular when they ran The Young Ones. Laughed my ass off. Then the 90s happened, and things took a turn.

I've been asking about this for a long time now. Where's the COLD survivor? Answer? No quasi-semi-partial nudity to blur out. It wouldn't sell, cannibalism or not. American(men 18-34)s don't like violence without some titty.
If its 24/7 coverage, then I am sure someone will be naked at somepoint to have it blurred out. Someone needs to take a hot lesbo-action shower eventually.

 The Young Ones!
I never knew that was on MTV, I used to watch that show on early afternoons on comedy central when they used to do a good 2 hour block of great british TV. I believe the lineup was The Young Ones, Ab Fab, Fawlty Towers, and Monty Python. That was before they started airing re-runs of MST3K.
Ah the glory days of comedy central. It's not that they don't have some good shows now, it's just that they replaced great re-runs (like the ones mentioned above), and amazing standup of many comedians before they were famous with marathons of Mad TV. I fucking hate Mad TV and I wish it would go away.

That's one I wasn't forced to wa- uh, I mean, I haven't seen that one.
"Southland Tales" isn't a David Lynch movie. It's a Richard "Donnie Darko" Kelly film.
It just feels like a David Lynch film. :)
This is what I always wanted to do for survivor.
Let's try Survivor: Antartica. Take all your contestants, round them up in some scientists cabin, plant a bunch of cameras anywhere, give them a couple of pungee sticks, a pack of matches and a hunting knife, and film them for 60 days. No stupid eat a bug or walk across some stepping stones with a big stick in your hand, just one ultimate task; survival. Give them only running water and electricity that can only be obtained by running a man-powered generator. Would really up the rating if some of the contestants resorted to cannibalism just to stay alive. You have to air the show truman show style 24/7 live footage. Even better would be to put it on PPV and you could make millions!
do that for every environment.

Trigan sucked. The serious side was extremely serious and the humorous side was extremely immature. Had they been in two different shows instead of the same one, it would have been much better. It would be like Cowboy Bebop and Shin Chan were the same show.
And I'm pretty sure both have box sets.
I liked it cause it had both a serious story and ridiculous humor, it was unique...
Cowboy Bebop was the same way....
Unfortunately they dont have entire box sets...just individual episodes...Cowboy Bebop has a couple of 'Best Of' boxes but thats it, not the whole series...

It was only on for 2 seasons. Starred Timothy Hutton and Maury Chayken.

Ugh. Everyone went emo-apeshit for that film. I saw it, and thought it was a good movie, but couldn't understand the cult following. I get the same feeling for The Big Lebowski. Entertaining enough, but hardly Earth-shattering.

Ok does anyone remember:
Eek the Cat- lines like "Oh gosh it hurts!" and Sharky the Shark Dog are not easily forgetable.
Mighty Max- a Matle vehicle with minute animation problems but otherwise great cartoon.
MTV's Oddities:The Head- think someone mentioned this before, but a cartoon about an alien living in a guy's head.
Daria- deserves her own religion.
The Class- it was on CBS not to long ago great writing, at least a few good cast members, but it failed to pick up an audience.
Highlander- the series went on for near ever (ha ha), but damn I enjoyed it.
Babylon 5- I don't think anyone has mentioned it yet, and I liked it for a while before it got all religiony. Still cool concepts though.

I used to love the days when they would announce let's say for example "metallica's new video" (before they sold out and everything) and me and a bunch of friends would mark down the date get together, throw a little shindig for that 3-5 minutes of awesomness.
Reality TV killed the Video Star.

Oh yeah, about half way into the series, he runs into evil Leapers who try to "set wrong what once went right" and the girl's guide is named Lucifer or something obvious (they don't show those episodes on tv). And the end of the series he leaps into limbo where he talks with God as a bartender about leaping. Though that was more or less a contrived way to end the series.

Well, the existence of an opposing team doing 'evil' suggests that some higher purpose is being served. Also - in the episode where he meets God, he's told that his work is going to get harder, which suggests he's been following a 'plan', being groomed for the next stage - which basically says that every jump is serving some overarching purpose. The trilogy where he jumps around in his own life kind of foreshadowed that.
So, overall - you kind of have to assume he's 'doing God's work'.
Well God or no God, the show was still freakin awesome. What was Bakulas hologram buddy named again?

I thought the existance of the opposing team was created when that criminal leapt into the stream. remember, their goal was to create the world that was 'right' to them. and then there are the other jumpers. like the old man who helped them rescue the miners in the schaft in that final episode...
and saying the job gets harder doesn't mean it's following a plan, it could just be 'the job is going to get harder.'

Northern Exposure Great show until that jerk Rob Morrow left. Favorite episode is the one about how the town was founded by two lesbians.
Picket Fences Tom Skerritt, Kathy Baker, Fyvush Finkel, and Ray Walston were supurb cast of an intellegwnt show that delt with real life issues. Finkle and Walston were especially great as the schmuck lawyer and the honest judge.
Queer as Folk(US) Grew into the gay family I never had. Loved Emmet(Peter Paige) & Ted (Scott Lowell) and of course Debbie(Sharon Gless).
Six Feet Under I was so totally engrossed with show and not just with the Nate/Brenda relationship. Again characters you just grew to love.
