Yes, but we're destroying (or attempting to, anyway) their way of life. It's only natural that they fight back, yes?

o_o...

You surprise and impress me, Gaunteled Fist. You have "worthy opponent" written all over you. Take it as a compliment. ;)

At any rate, the world did nothing because America is too powerful, not because the war was right.

At any rate, the world did nothing because America is too powerful, not because the war was right. Then doesn't that make the whole thing pointless? I mean, if no one is going to stop us, then we're just going to do what we feel like and give the rest of the world the middle finger.

Didn't that come back to bite you in the ass a few times by now?

At any rate, I was discussing ethics. In practical terms, well, when you do this kind of thing, you end up suffering effects little by little.

If you're going soon, good night.

The problem I faced once and refuse to face ever again is the INTENT of the word, Cameroi, my very gentle Polish friend... Which I am assuming you know.

Hate to break it to you, Heikou, but you in fact are un-(North, as in the United States)American.
You are Brazillian, ipso facto. :p
Notice that I did not say that you are anti-American.

Joking aside, America does happen to have the right to declare war on another country. In fact, every country can declare war on another country. Signed papers are all fine and well, but who's really going to stop America?

every other country on the face of the planet getting togather to do so, if that's what it takes. but it may not be neccessary. america seems to have become deeply committed to screwing itself BY attempting to take over the rest of the world.

yes, every country CAN declair war on every other country. the smart ones form aliances and honor them. those that think the're too big and powerful to need to, are maybe not quite as immortal as they deceive themselves into imagining.

i don't know, we'll just have to see. but two or three hundred years is a hell of a long ways from immortality, when lots of places have been around ten or even twenty times as long.

and with a lot less economic and idiological prejudice.

Just remember Cameroi, that America is not a person. It is a nation of over 300 million people. Some of them would melt your heart and some of them are ....not so nice. True it does have a national identity but that identity is constantly changing. When George the II hands over the keys to the White House, the new President will start doing all that he can to back out of the two nasty little Asian wars that are causing the economy to haemorrhage. They may have to win that tediously long game of "Where's Obama?" first (Yes it's the sequel to "Where's Wally?")
When that finally happens Americans on Eurpean holidays will never have to pretend to be Canadians again.

I won't drop it (the subject, not the thread) until Obama is elected (proving my point that one doesn't have to support the war to support America by getting a majority voting in the guy that was against the war) and I get to win back in that (not NS) channel an argument I have stuck in my throat for six years now and counting.

First of all, thank you Midlonia for the posting H2's wondrous trollness. I laughed, I cried, it became a part of me.

Second, you have yet to prove that you were right about the war because you don't really understand why were are fighting the war.

Third, in no way have you shown any even-handedness in regards to America or Americans. It is quite proper to call you anti-American considering that this is a factual statement.

And fourth, get ready to keep the argument stuck in your throat for four more years. Obama will lose and lose big. I, of course, will be awaiting your anti-American diatribe to be posted the day after the election. I am sure you will abide by the results of a election since you have such high regard for all elections. Yes, I am looking forward to your views on the matter.

The vital question of whether Heikoku is or is not anti-American has been thrashed out in bloggy detail for 18 pages. The OT excursions preserved it for a while, but now it's time to cease the shenanigans.

If you wish to discuss the US elections, there's already a thread on that. If anything else, start another thread.
