This may be the single most arrogant thing I've seen a fundie troll ever post on this forum in the three years I've been here. It IS your fault that people reject your perversion of the Scripture (and the intolerenace and hatred you people spew IS a perversion of Jesus' message whether you choose to acknowledge it or not). It is not the words of Jesus that many here are rejecting; it is this overweening arrogance that we reject. I have yet to meet a single evangelical that I believe has anyone's best interests at heart other than their own. I don't buy for one second that you wish to "save me". Everything I see evangelicals say, whether on TV, in print, or on this forum, shows them to be interested in one thing and one thing only -- control over how others act and think. I don't care if you're only 15; you're old enough to have learned to respect others. If you haven't learned that, then either your parents were derelict in their duty to help you become a useful member of society or you have rejected the lesson in favor of the feeling of power that casting derision upon others gives you. You are NOT an "oppressed minority" in this country; on the contrary, you collectively hold an inordinate amount of power for your numbers. That's all good. That just means that the same should happen when you confront others in real life with your beliefs. Although, I've realized something. There is a reason why some Christians don't want the Rapture to happen soon. So they can save as many other people as possible before then. That's my goal, anyway. The way I see it... a good time for the Rapture will be when everybody has heard about Christ, and either rejected him or accepted him. But that's just me.

If you just jump in with a lot of "hey, quit pickin' on me/him/her/them!" and "I don't care if you don't like me *pout*", you will not have as much fun.

2) Also, try to learn the difference between a serious debater and a troll who is just flamebaiting you. Also please learn the difference between an attack on your arguments and an attack on you. You will get a lot of the former, but relatively little of the latter, as long as you play nice with others.

What if the Rapture isn't the removal of believers from the Earth, contrary to the "Left Behind" series? What if it is the instantaneous judging of everybody on earth at the same time, so everybody leaves together, whether they are going to heaven or hell?

Good point, and I certainly lost my cool tonight. I tend to shoot first and ask questions later because I've spent a lifetime dealing with two-faced evangelicals who thought I'd be an easy target for their snake-oil sales pitch because of my disability (doesn't excuse going ballistic, I know). Honestly, if I'd have known the kid was saying the things he said because he's depressed, I wouldn't have gone after him.

Because eventually, one he removes his church from the world in the Rapture, he's gonna get fed up with the blasphemy towards him and the believers and he will defend them.


If the church, meaning God's people, are raptured into heaven...then wouldn't there are no believers left on earth to defend?

Yeah well I've got to say I'm quite hurt by everything that has been said about me. Not that most of you care, but man I wish the Rapture would happen right now. I don't want to be depressed all the time 'cuz most the time I'm not. But I'll never stop loving Christ. All they've done is making me stronger in my faith.

Faith is good. Just don't go pushing it down other people's throats. I personally find it all just another way of exerting control over people, but that's just me. I don't have problem with religious people who practice their beliefs with their own kind, only people who push their religion on others.
