NSG Reputations - Page 2
I still like you and respect you. ;) I just don't always agree with you.
I'd rather you always agreed with me. ;)
Kidding. That would be SOOOO boring.

I'm partially kidding.

I'm sure I have some sort of reputation with the folks on GM, but I don't know to what extent I'm known here - I've been around awhile, but I've never been a particularly prolific poster.
I'd like to imagine, though, that my reputation is for being reasonably bright and entertaining.
(Heck, I'd like to imagine that my reputation is for being the most amazingly brilliant, stunningly gorgeous, hysterically witty woman on the face of the Earth, but I'll happily settle for "reasonably bright and entertaining.") :p

Everybody thinks I take topics personally but it's only because they can't here what I write the way it sounds when I say it. I honestly am not sure what topic we're not likely to agree on? Unless people are really consistantly unreasonable, I tend not to remember their positions too much. EDIT: Serious answer, I actually try not to. It's not personal. I'm discussing the point with you, and perhaps commenting on or cataloguing your style for future advantage, but I care as much about the name of your cat as I would if we were playing basketball. Now, as you know, if we're interacting more personally it changes immensely. That's why I don't know anything about Ard or Kat, because they don't want to get personal. ;)

I have a tendency to plug things that I'm interested in and I know others are interested in as asides to posts. It's much more convenient than TGs because not everyone reads their TGs often enough to be useful. If you're a fan of D&D, Jocabia and I are going to be running a D&D game once people get their damn characters in, and I can TG you the link (since I don't think it'd be proper to advertise it directly on NSG again.)

As to your comment, as far as reputation goes, I stand by my behavior and my name. If I do something embarrassing, I'm appropriately embarrassed and I leave it at that. I'm happy to have people incorporate more of me into how they read me. For one thing, it helps them realize I'm not at all angry. Pssh... I may insist on having a better conceptual grasp of responsibility than you do, but that doesn't mean I actually pay it any attention. ;)
Seriously, though, it's not really that. I'm perfectly willing to admit my flaws and take responsibility for my actions. It's just that I'm more concerned for managing perceptions of me over the Internet, because they're harder to correct in a more limited medium. I'm a rather weird person... and most people don't "get" me well. (Yes, I know everybody says that. But my case is different!)

I should disclose at this time that I was actually referencing that Cat Tribes, as a natural by product of his rigorous education, diverse personal experience, and a life spent in disciplined deliberation, is in fact a complicated man.
He shares these things on occasion, but only fully reveals his depth and complexity to his woman, so only she really understands him.
The fact that he supplements his income by working as a private investigator who never cops out is coincidence.
Show some compassion.

For reasons unbeknownst to me, I probably share in that.

Yootopia - Northern. Reasonable.
N Burmecia - Anti-Thatcherite who I have a lot of respect for.

IV Stalin - More prolific, went to the same school as him as well. About as centrist as the rest of the Brits,
Chumblywumbly - Surprisingly centrist and affable Scot.
Dundee-Fienn - Not entirely sure of their politics, apart from the fact we rarely agree, but another congenial enough poster.

golden ram?
The Order of the Golden Fleece was created by Duke Philip III of Burgundy in 1430 to celebrate his marriage to the Portuguese princess Isabel of Aviz. The order is modeled after the English Order of the Garter, but dedicated to Saint Andrew. It was a knightly order, separate from the Church but with the blessing of the Pope. The Golden Ram was awarded, typically, to members of royalty but that changed after the mid 1800s.

I stumbled upon the name while checking one of Charles III's (Spain) coat of arms. A Bourbonic fleur de lis. It has the Toisón d'Or hanguing at the end of it. Funny thing is, Charles III isn't on the members' list of the order.

You bring up interesting issue to debate and clearly are knowledgable and do research enough to know what topics to bring up, rather than just pulling them off the google news front page.
At times, I personally think your a bit narrow minded and intolerant, but I dont think you realize your doing it.
At least you dont try to flaunt intellectual superiority like one of your comrades. You clearly are secure enough in your rhetoric and knowledge where you dont feel the need to.

To me, you seem sensible and intelligent; I typically enjoy reading your posts.
Now, I wonder. Do I have a reputation? My posts, to me, never seem to stand out; they seem distinctly mediocre. But, of course, that is my own self-perception. To others, do my posts seem worse than this? Better? Do I have any posting habits that people notice? I do recall one poster remarking that he'd (she'd? I can't recall who it was) expected me to look like a 20 year old Barack Obama, so I assume that some do recognize my name when I post. The question is, what do they attach to that name?

You are risible.
You obviously don't know how the forum search presents its results, but that's OK, I understand yokels are known for their peculiar laughter, so don't let me hinder you.
Youre the best at winning threads for various game references where they dont really belong (D&D and premarital sex for example).
There is seriously only 3 or 4 people I would say have a poor reputation in my eyes. Im sure most of you can guess who they are :p
(TAI isnt one of them)
You just FLAMED me.
LOL Duly noted. :p
It's been a while since we've argued over something, but I've read a number of your posts in the meantime and have found them to be thought-provoking and interesting (even when I don't agree). I look forward to our next engagement.
I doubt there is anything I could say that would be more complimentary than any statement by TCT the likes of which you received. (That's also a compliment to TCT.) As such, I will not try.

I really don't know why you seem to have taken a personal dislike to me. I really don't care. But it's really pointless to continue as far as I'm concerned. I'm putting you on my ignore list. Please, do me the same courtesy.
Knights Of Liberty - A guy I could have a beer with. You seem pretty cool, laid back yet passionate about your beliefs.

hehe thanks. Actually I do often look forward to seeing what you have to say in threads because you come across as minimal B.S. We do disagree on religion but we haven't yet debated it. Looking forward to it... in a good way. ;)

Still appreciated. And yeah that was very high praise. I needed it today :( But I'm feeling much better now

Nah, only noticeable people go on my ignore list. People easily ignored or never noticed don't.

No, you're that mildly annoying child who fancies himself a conservative and who has displayed a flawed understanding of science, who also seems to assume that what he's learnt in middle school physical science classes is 100% the truth.

He has to make sure that none of the threads that mention him somehow imply he cares what the posters here think about him.
That being said, there's nothing wrong with searching for your name. I do it almost everyday. Not my user name, either, I search my real one here to see if I appeared in the news, a blog, anything. Just so I have proof that I am known of outside my house.
I'm so lonely.

How else would I know where someone's responded to one of my posts? Has Jolt grown a response notification function I am not aware of? Or do the rest of you spend time keeping track of threads and reading them meticulously?
And you're making fun of ASD for not knowing that?
That's not what I'm making fun of him for. In fact, I wasn't making fun of him at all, just stating that I don't know who he is, so for him to "fear" my response is a bit overestimating his own renown.

I think he seems to think people actually pay attention when he does/says stuff.
The sad thing for "people" is, they do pay attention to when I "do or say stuff". Hence I use the search function as it's not a rare occurrence at all for "people" to either respond to my posts or mention me in threads. It is the most effective way to get a summary when I log on, as the responses I got in this place became far too ample even in the low hundreds of my first incarnation to keep track of otherwise.

oh snap!
I consider myself that guy who stands around doing basically nothing, and who makes you feel kind of awkward but you don't know him well enough to tell him to piss off, and doesn't really add anything useful to the conversation except for the occasional lamely amusing comment, mostly just chipping in with agreements or laughter, this is just like in real life, and who sometimes writes overly long sentences like this one.

Oh I quite like this sentence, not necessarily about TBC, and not because I don't think it's true but because...well I just don't know at all, but it's a nice description of certain people overall - and I don't think it's necessarily positive or negative, just a...nice...ammm....dammit...description.

I don't post in debate-type threads as often. I tend to go for more of the social threads, and so I like to look for and at least read the replies I get.
