Afterthought: If you want your name taken back off the list, delete (EDIT: That was dumb of me, please repost) or edit (EDIT: dumb too) the post where you made it.

EDIT: (edit of "afterthought" yeah, it's a train-smash now): To change anything with your name in it, just post again please.

After-afterthought: There are no puppeteers or puppets. Both will appear in their alphabetical place.
Bold is for claimed puppetmaster, unbold for puppet. Every name should appear twice, except those with no puppets.

Any poster claiming to have no puppets (on their solemn oath and in fear of a wedgie) has their name in RoyalBlue

I made a puppet once upon a time when jolt was crapping out and wouldn't let me log in. The idea was to investigate whether it was jolt being broked, or if I was banned or something. Turns out jolt was being broked. But that was ages ago, so the nation is long dead.

The point was "don't deliberately confuse me" and Iffy has my respect for posting a real puppet name and posting it early.

Plenty of people use puppets for entirely good reasons, it's not always a sneaky or trollish thing. Let's get a good list of at least those who are open about their puppetry, and any who want to come out of the closet are bonus.

a) X has three puppets named A, B, and C, in chronological order of creation.

b) A, B, and C only exist as dependent puppets of X.

c) In this thread, A claims to be the puppetmaster of B. For the prupose of this thread, is that a correct claim, or does X need to exert their authority as true, original and sole puppetmaster and dispute that claim?

Actually, I didn't ask anyone which of their nations was founded first, and I'm damned if I'm going to go and look them all up.

If a poster claims to 'have a puppet' then I put the nation that claimed that in bold. If their "puppet" claims to own the "puppetmaster" then they both get marked unbold as puppets.

I'm not having everyone try to get both their nations in bold so they look more important. ;)

If someone's puppet fights with their (other puppet? puppetmaster?) they have a serious ego problem and get marked as mutual puppets. The left hand and the right hand should know what the other is doing (they're the same person, after all)

a) There's such a thing as an IP which limits the ability to go around a ban unnoticed quite some.

b) It's less opinions and more modes of expressing it that get you banned.

c) Mods don't hand out bans because it feels so good for them, but because they fulfil a contract they made with Max.

d) The ones running the forum need to enforce certain rules in order to not lose their licence to run such a forum, so it's less of a "wanting to" and mroe of a "needing to".

The few times I've needed to use an acronym for FreedomAndGlory I used "F&G" to help the poor thing stay in denial.

This is really about what constitutes a "claim." I'm fine with people joking about being puppets of each other and so on, but the job becomes impossibly hard if I've got to make a judgement call as to what's a joke and what isn't.

"I am Bosh and Pecs" or "I post under the name Bosh and Pecs sometimes" or "Bosh and Pecs is my puppet" are claims.

"When Bosh and Pecs made that ridiculous challenge to CTOAN, I was drunk" is not a claim. Too many ambiguities. "I am B&P" is not a claim. I can't be expected to know every possible username that might be abbreviated that way. "Bosh and Pecs is my puppet. ;)" is not a claim. Even if it's true, the suggestion that it might be a joke makes it not a claim.

I'm not going to write an essay here, not least because I have to be up early tomorrow. Suffice to say: that's abuse and you shuoldn't have to take it. It's a question of having control over your environment, and if people are that callous towards you and you can't just walk away and not care, you need to get more control over your environment.

Bad Linen was an absolutely hilarious user name. I love anagrams, even though they scream "puppet." My dead puppets name is a spoonerism, which is a variety of anagram I guess.

Incidentally, I recall a user named Bin Laden. Matyred by the mods quick-smart.
