I have always regarded the military as a morally pristine institution, free from the corruption of everyday vices. However, there is now a specter hovering over it in the form of the acceptance of gay males (and, possibly, females) into our nation's armed forces. Such a corrosive influence would simply serve to contaminate the military and degrade its moral foundation. As you might know, the military contains a higher proportion of soldiers devoted to God's word and dedicated to ensuring its spread than America as a whole. Many would be infuriated by allowing Liberace into the sacred organization, tainting it beyond recognition. You obviously don't know anyone in the military, do you? Well, I do. And they know quite a few of their comrades that are gay. And I have met many gay soldiers. You'd be shocked at how they behave. You'd never know they were gay to begin with. To equate them with Liberace, an overtly feminine gay man, is an insult, not just to those gay soldiers, but gay people period.

Well, in all fairness, it's not unusual for minorities to complain about women or gays in the military. And it's not unusual for women to complain about gays in the military or even blacks in the military. This person may be a white hetero, but I don't think what we're talking about is limited to those that fall in that group.

Meanwhile, yes, the idea is outdated and just another attempt to attack the evil gays. There is no evidence that homosexuality has even compromised the effectiveness or a military unit. It certainly does not preclude them from being Christian which was also a concern of the OP. If the concern is to sexually pristine then I'm afraid that ship has sailed eons ago. US military units have higher rates of STD's than the average population, and as I pointed out earlier, I am aware of sex contests held by married men to see who could land the highest number of pounds of women during an excercise. My opinion of the reason for the focus by the OP is because it's not sin or rampant sex that he opposes but simply gay people.
