It should sound like RAH-oh-mee, but it usually comes out as ROW-mee (the "row" rhymes with "cow") when I say it.

Wait a tick... since when do I say that out loud?

Also: Yay for 900 posts! :D

Oh, I always read it Ray-oh-mee. I intend to continue to do so. ;)

No, I believe "fass" is pronounced as "fawss".

What, really? How pretentious. It's still going to be Fass as in "fast" as far as I'm concerned.

My nation is simply an archaic spelling of "Edward" and is pronounced the same way.

Now you've provided little square caskets for the question mark corpses to go in. Nice. But what's it with there being one less square than question marks? ;P

Seriously, AFAIK it has to do with our (not) having installed a certain typeset in our computer/browser font set, and/or not having the browser viewing settings switched to the approriate mode, so the 'problem' is on the viewer's, not your, end.

I saw the last one. I have a bazillion language packages installed for some reason.

Za rhymes with tar, gat rhymes with hut, emphasis is on gat.

I've wanted to ask for some time: like the awesome regional guides in the US?

I kept reading and reading, thinking I'd wait til I got to the end of the thread to say mine. But you jerks kept adding more pages for me to read!

ill - ee (as in pill-tree)

I don't really know which syllable to stress, so I try to say it real fast so it could go either way. Could somebody tell me how they pronounce my name?

(It didn't occur to me that somebody might be pronouncing it eye-lee until just now. That would be totally stupid, so I hope you're not doing that.)

You can pronounce 'Stalin' as 'Stallinn'??? I always thought 'Starlin' was the accepted way.

I've never put an R in that shit. Stall-in is the way to go.

The pronunciation of my nation's name is one of this forum's widely debated topics.

I maintain that it can never be truely said.
