It should sound like RAH-oh-mee, but it usually comes out as ROW-mee (the "row" rhymes with "cow") when I say it.

I am actually in Illinois, but in the southern part, about 5 hrs south of Chicago. But close! My dialect is more like that of st louis, where we say things very fast and close together.

How people got the name "Ice Hockey Players" out of my nation's name is a little unclear. Granted, people in my country speak Gretzkian, which is the exact same as American English with a few exceptions, but in the dawn of our nation, the name was brounced as follows:

EE-say choh-KEYE ply-YEHRZ (the "ch" in "choh-KEYE" is like the "ch" in "Chanukah")

We were visited by people who spoke some odd language about 1,500 years ago, and when asked for the name of our nation, they transcribed it as "Ice Hockey Players." At the time, the game of ice hockey did not exist, but we worked with the foreigners and eventually integrated them into our homeland. We adopted their language but gave it our own name; we found that our language, which uses eight alphabets and several word characters and is virtually unintelligible to outsiders, is a lot more complicated than it needs to be and we adopted the foreigners' language.

The original name of the land meant "Horse Manure." Literally. Our name is literally horseshit.

I can't verify the first but i'd assume wiki is accurate (note how half of the first character resembles a tree). So it's "Paulownia Tree Life City", or maybe that's better interpreted in English as something like "City of the Living Paulownia Tree". Kinda cool.

"Oeck" would be pronounced like "Öck", and since English doesn't have an equivalent of the "ö", the closest I can get to describe it would be this:
