Okay, Smunkeeville's Personality Test thread (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=508521) made me curious about what you all write like.
Because writing with a mouse sucks this totally deserves its own thread.
As in, show us your handwriting.
Write something down, scan it or take a picture of it or whatever, and put it up here.
I'd say you can write whatever you want, but for scientific comparison purposes and for those not feeling overly creative, here's the infamous Stella paragraph again:
°°°
Please call Stella. Ask her to bring these things with her from the store:
Six spoons of fresh snow peas, five thick slabs of blue cheese, and
maybe a snack for her brother Bob. We also need a small plastic snake
and a big toy frog for the kids. She can scoop these things into three red
bags, and we will go meet her Wednesday at the train station.
°°°
Aaaand... go!
(I will post my sample in a minute. Or five.)

Usually, it is, though. Especially when correcting homework, you get the impression that all guys want to hide their mistakes in bad handwriting.
Most homeworks done by girls were easy to read and pleasant to the eye.
Nah, that's not very 'girlie'.. at least you don't put little circles as dots for i's. I've known two men that do ..
Maybe because it was done in ball point pen and not ink. I tend to use a mixture of script and block letters then.

My scanner died. :(
Mine's just a little bitch with an error that rarely goes away, even though there probably isn't anything wrong. >.<
First he yells at me to MAKE IT NOW, now it's "I'll do it tomorrow"... :p
Anyway, somebody forgot she had to reinstall her faulty scanner first  so it took a bit longer, but here it is:

Oh, I love physics. It's so much fun. And for some reason whenever I mention that I'm majoring in astrophysics I seem to get a lot of respect/fear from people I've just met. It's funny.

Well, it's not like I'm majoring in astro because I want to inspire fear and respect, I'm majoring in it because I like it and it interests me greatly. I mean, you have to like it and be half decent at it to get anywhere really.

Part German, part American eh? :) That seems a close enough match to British, I'd say. Hehehe, oops. Well, closer than Botswana. Success! And now that I can actually see it it looks much more German than American. Except those last four words maybe. But I have several male friends here who write like you do.
hmphh. Well, like I said it looks just like my dad's, who's a very un-womanly man. So GN's writing looks as barrel-chested and testosterone-infused as possible to me. Somebody just fell in love with you. :p
ps. Universities don't give a shit if you've got notes from the prime minister if you're trying to justify a missed exam. Missing class? pfft. you're allowed to do that. Oh, I was thinking more of this (http://ii.fmph.uniba.sk/~mnagy/photogalleries/ExperimentPQ.1/im000763.jpg) kind of school. :p
You didn't say where you thought I was from based on my writing either. :( LOL. I didn't know I was supposed to - didn't you notice that I suck at that? :p
It doesn't look "typically American" at all. The only thing that looks American is the word "Taylor" in the second link. Other than that, you could as well be European. Or something. :p

I only kind of enjoy it, but only because I don't get half the shit we're doing in AP Physics. But Ira on the other hand, loves it. His dad's an engineer and has all these crazy physics and calculus books that he goes through. His time at home when he's not playing his tuba is spent doing physics and calc homework, or making up his own equations and doing them :(

And I'm Canadian... I guess there's a bigger European influence here than the US.

I understand physics up to the point in which you put it into formulas. Then it simply leaves me. Or I've had too few physics lessons and bad teachers in school.
Or (I know, a crazy theory) your dad and I are linked in some weird way expressed via our handwriting and what I lack in understanding physics is overdeveloped in him? :p

Why, thank you. :)
I generally seem to use my weird capitals-with-dotted-i's writing whenever I'm writing short messages, especially notes for other people, and my standard print when I'm writing anything longer than a sentence or two, probably because the former does take a bit longer than the latter, as you say. (As for cursive, I never use it except to sign my name; hence why I didn't include it in my sample.)

Hehe, my "weird capitals" don't have dots, though. ;)
I very rarely use cursive only - even my signature is this special mix of both cursive and print; only that it is very distinct when it comes to which letter is taken from which script.
It's pretty much, "pick whatever supports the flow" in all other cases, though.

Anyway, the "from" in "from the store" and the " her" in the last line are totally the cursive kind of Anglo-Saxon - kind of what I was talking about earlier with the "Commonwealth flow". Seems some Americans have it, too. Or probably they all did and most people today just don't use it anymore.

No, not extra scribbly, though that was the second time I wrote it. I figured I hadn't held a pen in over a week, so I should practice a bit first.:p This one is actually much less readable, but representative of my handwriting. And I'm 18, sweetness, not 17. ;)

i didn't know it was a cultural thing. i think here it's written both ways. i used to write '1' and '7' like they are in this font but i thought a 7 with a line through it looked cooler. and it's much less awkward to put a line half-way up a seven than a line exactly at the bottom of a one without it looking messy.

Six spoons of fresh snow peas, five thick slabs of blue cheese, and
maybe a snack for her brother Bob. We also need a small plastic snake
and a big toy frog for the kids. She can scoop these things into three red
bags, and we will go meet her Wednesday at the train station.

States make use of three unique tactics when dealing with terrorism: Pre-emptive measures, interdictory measures and responsive measures. All counterterrorist actions can be classified into one of these three types. There are variations on each of these factors, and it is possible to have combination responses (such as the US invasion of Afghanistan), in which responsive actions are also partially pre-emptive.

:) I love Oxford commas. They can bring such meaning.
Wait, what are Oxford commas? Because that sample included an awful lot of commas, which I faithfully copied even thought there seemed to be too many. Which was odd, because, being German, I usually put too many commas when writing English anyway.

Why, but because you were not copying, of course. You were quasi-correcting what you read.

Ah! Yeah, those were weird. Hm, I often out put commas in English before/after "and" (one of the few times where English has more commas than German) but I thought before/after "or" was wrong.

I just realized that I'm thinking of only one specific sort of "and": the one when you list things, as in "A cat, a dog, and a mouse". I was pretty sure you could (maybe even should?) do that in English.
I don't use commas with conjunctive "and"s in sentences. Unless I forget that I don't and do anyway. :p

You shouldn't really use a comma before 'but' either. It's a conjunction so there's no need for the comma.

Yeah, I decided I'd go with the USian flow on the internet. I reserve logical grammar and proper spelling for school.
And (zomg starting teh sentence) I'm not sure about this "but" thing; I went to dictionary.com but it just confused me, with its example seemingly contradicting its usage note.

I hate to be a grammar nazi (who am I kidding...?:p) but you definitely don't need the comma before "with" - you've completely broken the flow of that sentence. And (oh n0ez!) as a rule conjunctions don't need commas before them.
