they are social spiders i found out. the large spider shared its web with many different smaller spiders. I only got one or maybe two in the shot but there were actually 6 or 7.

I see. I've seen a spider about that size, maybe a little bigger. But the yellow on it was brighter and it was much wider than that. I presume it didn't bite you, though, just gave it a good try?
