Yes... I hate the Nazis... They allowed priests to try to convert Jews before sending them to the gas chambers... I lost a few souls there... Damn Nazis...

Many priests were killed by the Nazis. and they killed jews who were converted and not jewish anymore, they saw it as a race not a faith. the nazi's were more supported by the protostents then the catholics. Now the facists in italy, they were supported by the catholics

I am still constantly hearing people talk about him as a "Nazi". This is a staggeringly huge lie.

That's true. He came from a time in Germany when you had two choices:

1. Get killed by enemy soldiers.
2. Get killed by friendly soldiers for not fighting.

After more than a year as the Pope, Benedict XVI has proven himself to be a great leader for the Roman catholic faith. He has gained the respect of many who doubted his abilities when he was elected. I am still constantly hearing people talk about him as a "Nazi". This is a staggeringly huge lie. Pope Benedict XVI was drafted into the Hitler youth ( like all children his age) and never participated in its activities. He came from a very anti-Nazi family. When he was drafted into Hitler's army he deserted ( the punishment that he risked was execution). He entered the priesthood because of his horror at Nazi atrocities.

Overall I believe that Pope Benedict has done a great job as the Pope. Here are my reasons:

1) he has attacked moral relativism
2) he has been an Independent voice for peace and human rights
3) his first encyclical was a masterpiece ( Dues Caritas est)

what say you?

Amen and well said.

Yesss... They killed the voices of dissent... The spreaders of Love... *throws up*
and they killed jews who were converted and not jewish anymore, they saw it as a race not a faith.
The priests were not sent there to save lives but to save souls... That's why I hate them... If they were there to save lives I would praise them, because I would have been given a chance to corrupt all those innocent souls...

The Nazis weren't supported by Christians! They were supported by my own little things....

It seems to me as if nobody actualy wants to speak of the Pope himself ( unless you count that bad confirmation experience). Just rants against religion and AIDS rants. See y'all later.
So, instead of critical analysis of the policies supported by the Pope, you want us to look at what kind of dude he is as a person? Who cares?

I don't care if the Pope is a really nice guy, I just care about how he functions as a leader. Lots of very nice guys do horrible things with the power they hold.

the main reason in this thread that people want to attack the pope is just becouse they dont like the catholic church, they dont think people have the right to believe what they want with out fear of being attacked by others. they are just abunch of nazi's really. (think about it)

Well, this is strange.
I hate, or better disagree with, the pope just because I believe that people have the right to belive what they want and do what they want.
If the pope has the power, gay will be outlaws, condoms illegal, betrayal punished with death...

Well, religion is so a bad thing.

What a pile of BS.

I don't care what people believe in. I think the Catholic Church is a dishonest institution, and I certainly don't have much respect for anybody who supports their dishonest activities, but I'm not the least bit interested in trying to force people to give up Catholicism. If you want to give your money to an organization that lies to you, that's your business, just like it would be if you paid a woman to have sex with you and tell you that you were her best lay ever.

But as for being "attacked" by others, get over yourself. Freedom of expression doesn't mean you're free to do whatever you want without anybody saying a thing about it. You're free to be Catholic, and other people are free to dislike the Church, the Pope, or anything else they want. You're free to talk about how much you like the Pope, and they're free to talk about how much they don't like him. Deal with it.
