I think he sums up how I feel. I do look forward to the four or five Kieling running around the park, and the beautiful Thai-Syrian wife, but I am not in any particular rush. Of course, my father keeps reminding me that when he was my age he already had two kids. Still, if I end up a dad before -say 27 (To pick a number out of the air), I will be "on-track" with my mountainclimbing ambitions.

I've always been completely, utterly single (that is to say, not only have I never had a romantic relationship, I've never been on a date or even shared a romantic/lustful moment with someone) -- and there's not a hint of change any time soon in that regard. Oh well, I enjoy my life as it is. Being anything more than acquaintances or not-very-close friends with any women would be pretty sweet, I imagine, but I'm only 18; I've still got plenty of life to live. I won't start really worrying about this lack of a prominent female presence in my life unless the situation hasn't improved significantly in five years or so.

I have benn in a sort of limbo for many years now and don't see that changing anytime soon. Being in a loving relationship is infinitely better than being single, IMHO, but EITHER of them is better than where I am. Sigh. :(

It is lucky for me. :) The only downside is that he's going overseas for graduate school in September, so I don't know how things will work out in the end, but I've just been focusing on right now rather than what might come.
