Apparently, it does.

From a woman's perspective, I agree with this article. I prefer men who are taller than me, but then, it's pretty hard to find someone shorter than me :p

What do you think?

I don't really give a damn about men's height.

But most of my friends are women and they tend to like men who are approximately between six inches and a foot taller than they are.

I thought it was widely known that most women like a man, as someone said earlier, between 6 inches and a foot taller than themselves. This has been known for quite some time.

Unfortunately doesnt work for me.:(

Tall, yet still single.

Probably a mixture of personality and the fact I look a bit like a rake...

As a tall person, I'd be kinda embarrassed to go around with a woman under 5'8 or so.. It'd just be awkward..

Personal experience suggested women wanted smaller, more compact men with earrings in their left ear and salsa--dancing skills: not guys who bump their heads on doorways and sing Sinatra.

Yes, well, tall folks do have their difficulties. The ceilings of basements tend to be particularly hazardous, and stretching one's arms in a room with ceiling fans gets quite painful.

That sucks considering I'm taller than a lot of girls, but I'm actually attracted to girls greater than or equal to my height. Quite a predicament non?

As a tall person, I'd be kinda embarrassed to go around with a woman under 5'8 or so.. It'd just be awkward..

A strictly academic concern in my case, but still. :p
THere's nothing wrong with a 'throwabout', as petite women may be called (though not when they're within earshot).
But then, I don't have much choice but to go for tiny women. Here, the average height is around 160- 165cm (5'3" - 5'5") and <110lb (most are under 100). One teacher at my school weighs 80lbs!! She actually looks pretty healthy despite this (she'd be 5' at most). Unlike another one who is slightly taller and slightly heavier but you can see her veins crawling up her arms like blue spaghetti. *chudder* (that's a cross between a shudder and a chunder)

One of the more disturbing ads I've seen on TV here was for a weight-loss centre. It showed a very average-sized woman (imo, just right-sized) standing on a set of scales, which swung round to the horrendous figure of 61kgs (135lbs)!
OMG! HOW DISGUSTING!
To really push how 'fat' this woman was, they then showed an elephant with fat legs.
Thankfully for this blob of a woman, the fat clinic was able to get her down to a more attractive and manageable 105lb. And all for only blahblahblah...

For me, it's not height that's the problem, it's my weight (well, that and my morbid sense of humour and my multitude of various and varied annoying habits). I weigh 235lbs, and the locals can't understand that such a thing is possible. So they all think of me as being extremely fat. This despite me having around 10 - 12% bodyfat. Doesn't matter - If I weigh that much, I MUST BE FAT.
It's amazing - I've had so many women here say that to me. Yet I'd have less actual total fat than most men 100lbs lighter than me.
Does get to me sometimes. I can really empathise with women over fat comments.

I don't really give a damn about men's height.

But most of my friends are women and they tend to like men who are approximately between six inches and a foot taller than they are.
That much taller than me would irritate me. I am a guy true, but I also like slightly taller guys- that means 3 inches top. Even as a woman, I'd wear heels if a guy was taller than me so I could be taller.

That is insanely thin. An average woman is 5ft5- 5ft7 and around 140 lbs, varying in different areas. Anything beneath 100 lbs is ludicrously thin (they call 130 lbs FAT? ). Can't wait for women to grow taller and taller...and get over this dumb skeletal obsession they have.

My bf is about my height (if perhaps a touch shorter) I don't mind it, it's a little odd wearing heels around him, but then sometimes it's fun to tease him about how I get to tower over him and I don't particularly care for heels anyways.

And it's not that he's short (though he's a bit shorter than average for men), I'm somewhat tall for a woman.

“Being a tall woman in dating is a bit like being a short guy,” he says. “Because, on average, men are taller than women, it fits the norm for women to want a man who’s taller than them, and men to want a woman who’s shorter than them.”

This is exactly my problem. I'm a lovely but rather tall girl, and I am still pining over the pale, freckled, lanky guy I dated in high school. He thought he was a freak, but I loved it. Think of Conan O'Brian. That is my dream guy.

...as for high heels, yeah right. Looking fabulous in thousand-dollar shoes doesn't compensate for being so tall that people don't even notice your face and lean against you as if you were a support beam. Which would be a fairly dangerous thing to do, as I'd already be unsteady from standing on heels that look like no. 2 pencils.

teehee. I think he's already afraid of me. But adding a bit of salt to that would be even more fun. *plots*

Well, as long as you are walking on grass/dirt, it doesn't hurt. But gravel roads? *ouch*

Hehe, you must tell me the results!

One of my bestfriend's boyfriends was so scared that he had to make an impression on me, he couldn't think of anything to say to me :p

Or broken glass? *Yick*

I stepped on a thumb tack once :s Even though I was wearing shoes.... *ouch* :(

From a woman's perspective, I agree with this article. I prefer men who are taller than me, but then, it's pretty hard to find someone shorter than me :p

What do you think?

Myself, I prefer men who are appromixately as tall as me; don't really like constantly having to look up to someone :P

I shall. :D I don't know. He doesn't hit me as the "must make impression" type. I'm sure I won't scared him THAT much. Well, if he did, at least he'd have the sense to run away. :p

You've walked bare feet on broken glass? OUCHIE!!!! I used to put thumb tacks into the bottoms of my shoes so that they would make funny noises....

I don't think I'll be quite 6'5" (about 196cm), but I'll be around 6'3" when I'm done growing (191cm).

Of course, my "chances" are already good, since I look better than so-called "hot" actors (Johnny Depp, Brad Pitt...). If someone is attracted to me only because of my looks and size, well... Screw them.

Thumbtack in foot, eh? That's weak.

I stepped on a nail when I was 8. Went right through the bottom of my foot, it did. Strange thing is, there was no blood, and it really didn't hurt. It was just really weird.

I am 5'9" tall and I dont mind what height the guy is unless it matters to him. Some guys just dont like to be shorter than their date others dont mind.

Personally Though if it were a perfect world they would be less than 6inches taller than me and definatley not a full 12 inches.

and as a side note ... kissing is easier with approximately the same height people.

Hmmm. Never noticed that, but that's probably because I haven't kissed a woman of the same height as I am. I'll have to test that sometime.

Likewise, I've never kissed anyone of my own height, but my suspicion is that it is easier to kiss someone of a different height when you are the shorter one :D

Hong Kong. It's not that bad. You get used to small petite women. Thing is, the locals, being Cantonese, are very small boned, narrow-hipped and generally have shortish legs. So they can get away with weighing 100lbs and not look anorexic.
Plus, this being Hong Kong, they mostly all obsessed with looking good and being in the latest fashions.
Did you know they have woman clothes in size 'zero'? My ex (a local HK'er), who was average-sized by local standards wore size zero. In America size ten is meant to be the ideal, isn't it? With size eight viewed as slim.

My biggest worry is that it's making me view this size as normal, so when I move back to NZ, I'm going to look on the typical healthy, Kiwi woman with strong bones that comes from outdoor activity and lots of milk as huge and fat.

What's a chunder?

That's true. And I believe that it is indeed easier to kiss someone of a different height when you are the shorter one. However, I also believe that it is easier to initiate a kiss if you are the taller one.

So... What to choose, what to choose...

Hmm, methinks that it's better to be the shorter one... You spend less time initiating than you do kissing, so being shorter means more comfort for a longer time ;)...

Unless you're both sitting, in which case being shorter or taller is pretty much negated.. :)
