Smart, funny, sweet, preferrably Asian even I myself an black..., 5'8" or taller, muscular (the bigger the arms and abs are, the better).

So far, I've had a good run-in with women who have qualities 1-4. I've yet to find a girl who doesn't say 'You're wierd' when I try to make her laugh (as I am not a funny person).

Intelligence, kindness, a good sense of humour and self-confidence. I also love British accents, but that's a bonus, not requirement.

Ideal woman: Someone who is as intelligent, intellectual, beautiful, (intellectually) mature, and good in bed as me, but also makes up for my weaknesses (extroverted, mentally/emotionally stable, studious, has practical knowledge, active.)
Also someone who doesn't need/want to talk/be with me 24/7 but is still willing and capable to find new ways to keep the relationship going. And a personality that is compatible but not domineering or capable of overwhelming my own.

All I want in a woman is that she loves me for me. not for Who she wants me to be.

Able to hold a structured debate well, easy-going, intelligent, has no desire to discriminate against awkwardly disposed individuals, few must-have aesthetic preferences they claim to want in their partner, fondness for activities that do not involve physical prowess.

Those are the ones I could think off the top of my head that aren't external.

First of all, some people participating in this thread probably have partners. Second of all, we don't all sit here 24 hours a day never leaving the house, who says we haven't been out there and had our opportunities? Third, it's not so much about fantasy as simply having particular ideas of the kind of partner we want so when we are out there, we won't waste our time with the kinds of people we don't want.

The sultry torch singer stands at the front, her voice almost a harsh whisper. She walks a line between Veronica Lake and Bettie Page, she teases my insecurities because she thinks they're silly. She's seen more than I dare to ask.

In dirty corduroys and a sweater is the tenor sax player. A pot smoking slacker, she laughs at the things that I take too seriously. She's a better player than me (not as hard as I wish it was), so she plays the lead. (there's no subtext to that, I just think chicks who are musicians are hot.)

On up-right bass is the 'thinker,' the deep reader. The one who corners you when you haven't thought something through. She's probably the best musician in the band but hasn't spent a second contemplating it.

The drummer maintains the group's tour bus. She doesn't know how to be mean, so when her pure honesty hits a bone on accident you know it wasn't with malice. She sings the folksy songs while the torch singer takes a break.

Short term; a convenient sexual partner who I 'get'. But that's really short term. I'm ready for something far more substantial now. I'm ready for the comittment and the 2.5 kids.

As far as what I want in a 'partner'; there's no real quantitative quality. Either you 'get' someone or you don't. It's half biological and half intellecual. You have to feel confident that the situation is right.

I've never understood people who don't care what their partners look like. Myself, I want a pretty woman with substantial assets behind her forehead. Why should I have to settle only for one of those things when I can get both? That's just dumb...it's like buying a pair of comfy shoes that looks like shit. Or byuing a car that looks awesome but has a trabant engine under the hood...

I like an intelligent woman but if I'm not attracted to her (physically) it's not getting further than friendship. Not that that is bad, but sometimes one is looking for a partner. I spent 3 years looking for my current girlfriend (and here's to hoping she'll be the last girlfriend I'll have), who I consider super on all accounts. I don't consider myself shallow for wanting an attractive partner, I consider that normal. How some are content with living with really nice but very sloppy and I-don't-care-about-my-looks-at-all kinda persons is almost beyond me. It's almost like they are content with thatever they get as long as they get someone.

- I need a woman who doesn't care that at the moment, I'm little more than an essentially broke student, at least a couple years away from anything approaching respectability. :p
- I want a woman with a plan...if you have no goals for life, then you're simply not my type.
- I'm not certain I want kids, so that gets factored in. I know I'd mean well raising a child, and I'd probably do ok, but it's just as likely that I'll screw the little rugrat up, so if she really wants kids, she had better be supermom. :p
- None of these "no smoking, no drinking, no drugs" types...learn to have some fun. :D
- I want a woman who has an artistic side...painting, piano, poetry...doesn't matter.
- A little vanity is always nice in a woman, but if you're the type that does nothing but tear themselves down everytime you look in a mirror, then I won't be hanging around for long.
- My ideal woman must love to travel!
- If she spends more time at the computer than she does sleeping...I'm passing.
- She should share at least one nerdy quirk with me. (LOTR, ST: DS9, Board Games...something)
- Her favorite store should be the thrift store...not because I'm cheap (:eek:), but because all the chicks I know who shop mostly at thrift shops are much happier with their wardrobe than those who don't.
- She should like discussing politics as much as I do, regardless of whether she shares my views or not.
- She should preferably be older than me (I'm 23)...I find that women younger than me tend to have no fucking clue what they want in a relationship.
- Looks matter...those who say otherwise are lying. That said, I'm not too picky, just as long as they have long hair (the longer, the better) and aren't taller or heavier than I am, then we're all set. :)

EDIT: Oh, and an interest in metal music, disc-golfing, swimming, or hiking are all supreme bonuses!
