Im just wondering why people like Jane Fonda, Sean Penn, John McCain, and Colin Powell are so out of touch with America. They seem to oppose the President and the will of the American people at every turn. I mean are they trying to attack America? Your thoughts.

1) John McCain is liberal? That'll come as a shock to the anti-abortion Republican senator.

2) Considering the idiot-in-chief's approval ratings, his critics are clearly in touch with over sixty percent of the US citizens.

...they won't have a platform to stand on anymore.

That's the main Problem with Democrats at the moment. They're so afraid of looking "weak" that they back down on pretty much every issue that comes up. What does this do? It makes them look weak.
Well, at least that's the problem with Democrats in office in D.C.

McCain...he's not exactly liberal, but he's as liberal as any Republican will ever be!

As to the original issue, Liberals in in general are not trying to attack America (unless, of course, you want to say that certain idiot officials ARE "America"). Currently, to argue your point, the "will of America" is not exactly alligned with the President. If you could explain further what you mean by "out of touch with America" ti would be easier for the rest of us to tell you why you're wrong. :p

I think it would be ridiculous to oppose someone on everything they do (they must've got votes somehow), however it would also be ridiculous to assume that they're perfect in every way (still human I hope). So it's perfectly reasonable to oppose some decisions.
I personally don't think that George Bush is pure evil, but I don't think that none of his decisions were bad.

And, no, i get the impression from his pronouncements that Powell thinks the way the US went to war, and the way it had no proper set out goals for peace in Iraq was a "bad idea". Given the man has fought for his country, which you haven't, and given he rose to prominence in helping to cover up US atrocities in 'Nam, i don't think "liberal" quite fits Mr Powell meself. Sorry. Oh, sorry, excuse me, opposing torture is a sign of being a liberal?

And, no, i get the impression from his pronouncements that Powell thinks the way the US went to war, and the way it had no proper set out goals for peace in Iraq was a "bad idea". Given the man has fought for his country, which you haven't, and given he rose to prominence in helping to cover up US atrocities in 'Nam, i don't think "liberal" quite fits Mr Powell meself. Sorry. But "opposing Bush" does not = "liberal"...

There are no innocent babies. They've got original sin, so it's ok to kill them before they're baptized. Plus their bodies should be used for research, nutritional supplements, and left-hand-path religious ceremonies. No sense letting them go to waste.

I remember just before the war they were saying that Saddam had remote-controlled surveilance planes that could be fitted with WMD and flown off of merchant ships into US territory. How is it a bad idea?

1) More people in the muslim world hate us now, which means less intel from them, and more of them willing to resort to terrorism.

2) Iraq is on the verge of becoming a failed state like Afghanistan after the soviets left. We can't stay there forever, and when we leave, it becomes Al Qaeda and crazy warlord central.

Of course we need alternatives to fossil fuels. I hate to break it to you but they are finite. Oil will most likly run out before the end of this century if demand keeps increasing at the rate it is. Coal and gas may last the next century or too but we need to start thinking about the altentatives now rather than all the way down the line then.

But we're not talking about funding a war. The war is off the books so it is not figured in. According to the administration the war has cost to date about $400 billion but under Bush the debt has grown by nearly $4 trillion. The biggest expenditures are domestic entitlements that have grown by nearly 50% under Bush including the creation of the new prescription drug plan that has already cost 4 times what the admin said it would when they pushed it through.

thank you, God. Liberals dont get it your the only sane person on here. But I wouldnt say all democracy and freedom but seriously "civil rights" can get in the way of fighting the war on terror. I love those people who will whine about having there phone tapped, but its like if you aint talking to a terrorist why are you worrying?
Yeah. I have nothing to hide. When I'm having phone sex with underage gerbils I'm confident that the government isn't going to use those conversations against me because I'm not a muslim.

Yeah, but now we've changed our minds. :(
Listen, Bush was given the presidency by the people and we can't take it back. What are we, a nation of Indian givers? Indians, please don't answer that question.

I would like to thank everyone here. Y'all have well and truly made my day. 16 pages of non-stop laughter, hoo-ee! Y'all keep fighting the man, now, ya hear? It's so funny I nearly pooped my poodipoopoos. Or something like that.

And The UN abassadorship, Sieg Heil!

Dude if you like this you should so check his 'ban public schools' thread - it's topped 500 posts now, and that's 500 posts of sheer comic genius. Not wishing to spoil it, but I particularly loved the bit where China attacked Pearl Harbour. Hey - UN abassadorship said it, so it must be true :D

You need to be careful, you've had a couple posts in here that gave you away a little too much. It's ok to be absurdist with a troll-puppet, but you need to be careful not to cross the line into obviousness. Otherwise watching the responses just isn't as fun.

were they?
Yes, they were right to oppose a dictator who was committing genocide on three war fronts and within his own borders.

why?
Mostly because Karl Rove is a smart man. His clever use of the Chewbacca defense lulled a fat, happy America into thinking Bush was competent. His brilliance only goes so far, however. Ater Katrina and the debacle that is the Iraq war even Rove can't fool the public into thinking this emporer has clothes on. The bloom is off the rose and the only people left in his camp, people usually reduced to the "he's better than Kerry" defense, are the ideologically rigid, uneducted idiots that are his base of support. The Bush democrats and even the intelectual, educated conservatives have bailed on that horse.
