I know individual muslims. a couple are nice, most are wankers. I live an a primarily muslim area and it is not pleasant.
Mate, I know a lot of people. A couple are nice, most are wankers. Doesn't make a blind bit of difference whether they believe in a god or not.

The difference is, this came from a much slower flow of settlers from neighbouring countries, who after a while assimilated into a more unified culture. These days it's just an influx of immigrants from uncivilised cultures that is adulterating te culture of this country.

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but the Poles constitute the largest body of immigrants into the UK in recent years. Under what definition are the people of Poland an 'uncivilised culture'?

I can imagine the Der Fuhrer spinning in his grave at the suggestion of Jews as Supermen

Did the fact that the character of Superman was invented by two Jews escape your notice?

You want to fix your nation? Vote in the torys as soon as possible! Conservatives always fix a country. Just like Stephen Harper is going to do in Canada.

And for me Im fine with the way my country is run. (Ireland that is)

Reagan was without a doubt, one of the best Presidents we have ever had, and he was defenitley the best modern President we have had.

Moderately amusing, yes.

Not amusing, at all. I like the English as our allies and wish to keep them that way. I dont need trolls representing my country, coming out and bashing the English, one of Americas greatest allies and a good country. We need to be thankful for our friends over seas...because right now, America is not winning any popularity contests.

Even though we were/are right about anything and everything :p :D

Exactly. Nor do I find it humorous when such sarcasm is pointed towards one of the EU's most powerful countries. I guess that would make me a Euro-nationalist. :p

And yeah, we like to let you think that you are. ;)

Without a doubt. He ranks up there with Nixon and Andrew Jackson as the top 3 best presidents of all-time.

If you live in Britain and don't like the present government, get off your arse and vote Conservative! Nothing else can remove Labour from power.

Pah. If raising a popular army to smash the fopperies of the ruling elite and impose a puritanical new order by force of musket and sword was good enough for Cromwell its good enough for me.

The only real way to change the way things are organised is to shoot the people who organise things.

Jeez... I wasn't expecting this kind of rapid correspondance... It'll take me all day to read this! (thank God for tabbed browsing)

I can't believe that so many people believe that UK politics are wrong or corrupt. (29 people have voted "The revolution is nigh!")

For those who believe I should move to Canada etc., my parents DON'T really share my views - my dad likes ID cards etc, my mother actually believes that Tony Bliar is a good man...

Oh yes, and I don't think I mentioned this problem with the UK (but I'm sure there's millions of topics on this already, so don't start flaming about it):

ASBOs
In particular the one slapped on Zach Tutin. (Try googling Zach Tutin)

Also, one can be ASBOd from attempting suicide (when a rescue effort is needed, ie jumping off bridges). Why should we be prevented from trying to escape this totalitarian nightmare?

They are just trying to bring back the days when suicide was illegal.

Ah, brits doing what brits do best, whinning about everything.

Fact of the matter is, as countries go, it's probably the best out there. Sure we have some problems, but name me one nation without problems. Back in 1945 we where more or less bankrupt, now, 60 years later we are the 4th largest economy.

And the conservatives? You want them back in power? I was born the year thatcher was elected, I know what a tory government is, that's all I knew for the first 18 years of my life. You'll be bitchin' about them after their 3rd term rolls around. I vote new labour, and since 97, thing's HAVE got better in this country. Sure, they don't always get it right, and sure, they can fuck up too, but they have been keeping shit in line to a point. It take's time to sort out all the shit this country has been in.

Also, a lot of people in this country doesn't even know or care what we have done for the world. It's epic. So, why not a little love for your country. If you ain't happy with the way things are, then at least try to make a difference. Don't just sit on your arse and bitch about it. If the whole country thought like that then we're fucked.

What really annoys me is that they have just banned smoking in pubs and clubs... I understand the veiw of non-smokers, but i dont care about that. What annoys me is that the government can ban it without the support of the public. They are meant to be representing the country but arent they are representing themselves, and trying to climb their way up the political ladders. Argh.

Thats why I don't think democracy works.

Also, My mother just announced that she is a communist. ¬_¬

Firstly, Random Island or whoever you happen to be, you also happen to be the most transparent and illogical hypocrite I have encountered. You deplore our loss of civil rights, entirely justifiably, with the contention that they were defended by our predecessors, yet deplore our state religion, that pervades such tradition, and the actions of our heroic predecessors.

However, in relation to the increasing centralisation , in idealogical terms, of British politics, one must concede that it was engendered by Blair's desperation to acquire power in 1997, and according right movement in the Labour party, a movement reciprocated now by Cameron in response to the demagoguery of Blair and Brown.

As you may not know, I'm 14, so you might think I'm being extremely bigheaded when I say "I have had ENOUGH of the United Kingdom". Unfortunately, in today's world, other people's issues affect even the suffrage-challenged. I can tell you for free and without intention of trolling that if I was offered permanent residence in a Canadian or New Zealand youth hostel (yes, a youth HOSTEL) I would accept straight away.

The problems I have with my nation are:
Many of the civil rights we fought our countrymen for are being systematically eroded... by US.
Our Prime Minister is becoming less of a British politician and more of an American installation every day.
Our nation is woefully biased against Muslims. In fact, the entire European Union (including Denmark for the record) is unnecessarily biased.
We have a state religion, and our school is only refusing to force students to pray "like good proper deprogrammed Christians" by a HAIR.
New Labour is systematically dropping each and every single one of its election promises.
The line of difference between the Labour and Conservative parties is blurring every day, with a liberal Tory and fascist Labour colliding into each other.
Here, in our wonderful nation of civil rights and freedom of speech, you can be banned from saying GRASS. Say that aloud, GRASS. Do you feel any more thuggish for saying GRASS?
You can't use your own front door in extreme situations.
Adultism is king. Shopkeepers believe that they can control their customers with the former great liberator, MUSIC.
It brings a tear to my eye when I hear of LOYAL, FELLOW BRITS losing their hard-won civil rights because of terrorism.
And how about the nearest police hotline being, say, 50km away?

We are becoming less of the type of nation that would look out for its citizens, and more and more like Stalin's Soviet Union, or even Orwell's 1984.

What do you think?

If you really want to speak in technical terms.. British citizens dont TECHINCALLY have any of the rights your talking about especially freedom of speech. For you, from what I know, it is a privliage extened by the government which maybe retracted on their disgression. I can say this definitivly because Britian has no written constitution. You depend on common law and tradition. Yet lacking written documentation of your rights, there is little legal basis for them.

And your young yet... Canada has plenty of its own problems, and you'd be just as saddend by them. The reality is, sometimes you must surrender some freedom for security. Because without security your freedoms are meaningless... because instead of controled by tyranny, you will be controled by fear.

Yes they do.

No it's not. It would require leaving the EU and repealing the Human Rights Act; so Parliament may retract them at their discretion, not the government.

I can say this definitivly because Britian has no written constitution.
Already been covered (if you read the thread) and it's been established that it does not, in fact, have an unwritten constitution. Much of it is written.

Apart from, you know, the 1998 Human Rights Act and several European laws.
