Why am I so not surprised that Ritlina, faced with over 100 people who have asked him to stop capitalizing every word, has reneged on his challenge?

Ok I wrote it (thus theoretically know what it says), and I'm nearly two decades older than you (if I'm remembering your stated age correctly), so 've managed to pick up the skills to read upside-down and mirrored. Even so, character-reversed text written in a grammatically correct manner and with a flowing manner is much easier for me to read than S omething T hat E ssentially B reaks U p T he W ay T he W ords A ppear O n T he P age.

When you read, you don't read each letter. You read some sort of fuzzy 'shape' of the word. So much so that you can eevn raed txet wehre olny the frist & lsat lrettes of erevy wrod is in teihr corcert potisinos. Capitals spoil it much more than simply gnisrever hcae dna yreve drow (in my humble opinion) and if you 'ecnatnes eht pilf yllatot' it works even better in my eyes...

Ok, so I went to extremes by actually writing it sdrawkcab, but... Well, the point wasn't that I found it easier to read that, but I can... Honestly and truly..! Not at the same speed as I can read text such as this, but more fluidly than I read Y our C apitalised S entences, G iven H ow I t M akes T he R eading P rocess A S top/S tart P rocess...

But this is just one (probably warped) person's opinion. And, as you didn't try to read it, you won't have found my comment on one of your msot common grammatical errors, so at least I don't have to admit being a Grammar Nazi. ;)

yes. his still had a coherant flow. As he stated, we only actually read the first and last letters in a word. The rest is sort of scanned quickly. A capital has the effect of making a word stocatto and disjointed from the surrounding text. When it is every word, it ruins the sentence. Additionally, it causes problems with format...sentences over 45 words or so become convoluded in meaning. It is complex to read. Capitalizing every word creates the illusion that it is all one sentence, and therefore makes the meaning easily lost.

Ye gods. You know you've annoyed people on General when you get everyone from Eutrusca to Kanabia voting against you - and even a freakin' mod, for crying out loud.

More than 150 people have spoken against this posting style - yet he won't change, even for the consideration of over a hundred posters on General - and most of the big names as well.

Might I suggest a wholesale boycott using ignores if this doesn't work? 150+ people ignoring it might make him a tad lonely and make him stop.

It's fairly obvious that the mere presence of this thread indicates that the "assclown" style of typing is unpopular.
