(This was tried on another forum, it went ok except that it was mostly Americans who were only making random guesses, whereas here there's a lot more Brits who will (hopefully) take part)

***RULES***

1 ) 10 fixtures from a weekends football picked at random contestants must predict whether it will be a home win, away win or a draw

2 ) if a post is edited after 11pm friday (GMT) the predictions will be void and no points will be awarded to the cheater :P

3 ) at the end of the season in april the person with the most points will win the cuverted trophy of king (or queen) of football

to make it easier put the date on top of your answers

(I'll decide the 10 games in just a second, and they won't all be Premiership teams, but they will all be English)

EDIT: here:

As for the 7/10 correct results, well, I just have a quick check of the league tables, then base my predictions on where the 2 teams are in the table, their goal differences, who has home advantage, and any info (if any) that I know about the teams!

And for the FA Cup 3rd round...

Firstly, you put Fulham v. Liverpool as a draw.
Secondly, the predictions you made were for the weekend's Premiership matches, whereas Harlesburg put up matches from the Premiership as well as the other 3 divisions. So, from the Premiership matches Harlesburg put up (Arsenal v. Man City; Blackburn v. Birmingham; Fulham v. Liverpool), you scored 0.

To make up for my stupidity, I post an amusing article:

Mourinho: 'Wenger is a voyeur, he likes to watch' (http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=347627&cc=5901)

Jose Mourinho has urged Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger to concentrate on improving his own club's results before talking about Chelsea.

Mourinho was infuriated by Wenger's decision to comment about Chelsea's 1-1 draw at Everton last Sunday and their Carling Cup loss to Charlton on penalties in midweek.

The Portuguese coach responded by suggesting the Arsenal chief is clearly rattled by their success.

Wenger insisted that some of the belief disappeared from Chelsea after those two results and that hope had been restored to those clubs involved in trying to catch the runaway leaders of the Barclays Premiership.

But the Chelsea chief wasted no time in rebuffing Wenger's remarks after watching his side destroy Blackburn 4-2 at Stamford Bridge to make it 10 wins out of 11 in the league this season.

'I think he is one of these people who is a voyeur,' said Mourinho. 'He likes to watch other people.

'There are some guys who, when they are at home, they have a big telescope to see what happens in other families. He speaks and speaks and speaks about Chelsea.

'It bothers me because the guy is speaking all the time. We never speak about them.

'You can do it when you are top and you have a big morale. When you are on game number 11 and you still can't win away from home, and when you are without Thierry Henry and he can't win a game, he should be worried about them.

'He's worried about us, he's always talking about us. It's Chelsea, Chelsea, Chelsea, Chelsea.

'I might be worried if my team made a defensive mistake. I shouldn't be worried about what Arsenal did at Tottenham. They are always speaking about the other families.

'I don't know if he wants my job, I don't know. He loves Chelsea.'

Mourinho's side made light work of Blackburn to remain nine points clear at the top of the table.

After a difficult week, Chelsea responded in style with two goals in the opening 13 minutes - a header from Didier Drogba and a penalty from Frank Lampard.

But Blackburn had hauled themselves level before half-time with a brace from Wales international Craig Bellamy. He scored from the penalty spot before capitalising on a dreadful hashed clearance by Petr Cech to head them level.

Chelsea moved up a gear in the second half, though, and Lampard notched the 100th goal of his career with a curling free-kick before a deflected effort from Joe Cole in the 74th minute made the points safe.

The Blues now travel to Seville for a Champions League clash where victory will ensure a place in the knockout rounds.

However, Argentinian striker Hernan Crespo has not travelled to Spain to face Real Betis after picking up a muscle injury in Saturday's victory.

But winger Damien Duff made the trip and may start the game on the bench.

I know this isn't strictly the point of this game, but let's see what people think is going to happen in the major competitions (and the League Cup) this season.
So, predict the following - Premier League (Winners, runners-up, remaining Champions League places, UEFA Cup places, relegation places), Championship (Winners, automatic promotion spot, play-off teams, plus winners, relegation places), League one (same as for the Championship, but remember 4 teams go down), League two (same again, but remember that the top 3 go up automatically, rather than just the top 2, and only 2 get relegated), FA Cup (finalists, winner), LDV Vans Trophy (same), UEFA Cup (finalists, winner - I'll let you wait until after the end of the group stage of the CL for this, as 3rd place in each group goes into that), Champions League (finalists, winner).
Oh yeah, and the League Cup (finalists, winner).

Ok, here's mine:
Premier League:
Champions: Chelsea; 2nd: Arsenal; 3rd/4th: Man City, Man Utd.
UEFA Cup spots: Charlton, Tottenham.
Relegated: Everton, Sunderland, West Brom.

Championship:
Champions: Reading; 2nd: Sheff Utd.
Play-offs: Cardiff, Crystal Palace (winners), Luton, QPR.
Relegated: Brighton, Millwall, Sheff Wed.

League One:
Champions: Swansea; 2nd: Southend.
Play-offs: Bradford, Brentford (winners), Huddersfield, Scunthorpe.
Relegated: Bristol City, Gillingham, MK Dons, Swindon.

League Two:
Champions: Wycombe; 2nd: Grimsby; 3rd: Rochdale.
Play-offs: Chester (winners), Leyton Orient, Peterborough, Wrexham.
Relegated: Stockport, Torquay.

FA Cup:
Man City (winners), Wigan.

LDV Vans Trophy:
Barnsley, Swansea (winners).

UEFA Cup: (I'll do this next month)

Champions League:
Bayern Munich (winners), Lyon.

League Cup:
Arsenal (winners), Wigan.

That's 45 predictions made (with 2 to come). Reckon I'll get maybe 15 right...
