How so? Most libertarians are arrogant because they don't associate themselves with neither liberals nor conservatives, so they feel that they can attack both sides. I don't know any conservatives who claim to be better than all other conservatives nor do I know any liberals who claim to be better than all other liberals, but I know self-proclaimed libertarians who claim to be better than liberals and conservatives just because they're libertarian.

What is wrong with you? I'm libertarian but that does not mean I'm arrogant. I'm not liberal nor am I conservative. That doesn't mean i'm arrogant. I think there are plenty of conservative and liberal who think they are better then everybody else, and I think you are just engaging some character attacks yourself like Dobbsworld. You love generalizing don't you?

I've encountered many such people righht here on NS, Achtung. Throwing the word 'libertarian' around a bit seems to endow these people with a carte blanche to naysay and deride other's points of view as being somehow too facile and ill-considered to warrant anything other than scorn. Frankly, it's gotten to the point where seeing the word 'libertarian' used as a self-descriptor tends more often than not to be code for 'swell-headed egotist', though this is not based solely on my experience on NS.
No, to be sure, I've had to endure much muddled thinking in person as well as on internet forums. It doesn't improve in person. Funny thing is, the real-life "libertarians" I've encountered are all forty-something men trying desperately to cling to their fading adolescence (and hairlines) while evoking a 'Devil-may-care' attitude that is just laughable.

And here I thought the Rolling Stones were all dead from drug related embaressing situations...

Nah, Keith Richards just looks like he is.

If you're not conservative, then why did you make such a stink about being a "Log Cabin" Republican a couple weeks back?

Oh, sorry. Is that some kind of "character attack"?

NEW YORK -- The Rolling Stones' upcoming album contains a song seemingly critical of President Bush, but Mick Jagger denies it's directed at him, according to the syndicated TV show "Extra."

"It is not really aimed at anyone," Jagger said on the entertainment-news show's Wednesday edition. "It's not aimed, personally aimed, at President Bush. It wouldn't be called 'Sweet Neo Con' if it was."

I didn't make a fucking stink. I just referred to it.

No, I'm registered as non-partisan.. meaning no party.

Are you kidding? It's the drugs that keep them going after this long. :D

And when Keith Richards, every junkie in the world is going to insist that he be cremated and that they get to breathe the smoke.

Dobbs, I can replace the word libertarian in your arguement and substitute it with conservative or liberal, and it holds equal water in my experience.

Funny thing is, the real-life "libertarians" I've encountered are all forty-something men trying desperately to cling to their fading adolescence (and hairlines) while evoking a 'Devil-may-care' attitude that is just laughable.Although from myexperience, this only applies to most liberals that I meet, trying so hard to appear "hip", and "still with it".
Most of the libertarians I've met have only been around my age, or somewhat younger/older (I'm 28).

That made no sense. You clearly are a liberal who claims to be "better" than conservatives or libertarians.
I'm not aware of many libertarians who claim to be "better" than other libertarians.

What point were you trying so hard to make there?
I've never claimed to be better than libertarians. I agree with most of their views, hence my political compass score in the middle of the A/L axis.

Glad you're seeing how lame generalizations and assumptions can be. I don't look down on anyone, save extremist whackjobs on ALL sides (libertarian extremists are usually called anarchists).

I've met assholes of all persuasions, and many more have fallen under the liberal/conservative totem than anything else because there's simply more of them, not because of an inherent flaw in their ideologies.

Not since Jerry Garcia will a cremation have to be supervised by the DEA and possibly the EPA.

At least he's an old man who's done something with his life, not a young man slamming people he doesn't know squat-all about.

I'll prefer to listen to the has-been than the never-was, Stinky. Thanks all the same.
You don'y know me, you don't know who I am, yet the only time you ever address me is to try to put me down? Wow, the level of discourse here is amazing.

Watch it with the "old" comments, young dweeb!
Calm down. No one was addressing you. I have never had a problem with you, yet you sling names at me.
