I do not think they are generally less able in jobs, even remotely
I do not like sexist jokes (in much the same way I do not like racist jokes)
And I really do not like being told that having fun is opressive to women

I agree, there is bias in language, but there are parts of the developed english language that deal with this. Would you be happier if the language was biased towards females? To be honest I don't think I care one way or another - perhaps we can start a petition and have this changed to keep you happy. Either that, or we can break it down - ladykind, and mankind - the two factions of peoplekind? Or we can create a new, more defined, politically correct language that adresses these concerns?

The point is, that language as it has been, is, and will remain. The only way to truly abolish all reference to sex, color, creed, faith etc etc. in language - would be to redefine language in general. An entirely new language based on exactly the kinds of things youre saying.

The problem is feasability, and structure. How do you suggest we change all of these things and manage to keep the regions in which changes are being made socially competetive? I think if it were possible there would be stronger motions in place to accomplish just that, even now.

her and his. they are possesive words. It is not the same as men and women. Wo was just tacked onto men to make the feminine. Her is a completely differnet word than his. You wouldn't change a word like herd to something else to show it was just a group of female animals. the words are different.

I'm sorry, but how can you relate using your brain and not your body and not using your femininity? Gender is one of the most distinct characteristics in humans. With each gender comes a whole different thought process. Men are hardwired to look at women as women. Femininity is an inevitable feature of a woman. Femininity is not weakness. Ignorance is. Jamil, Im just as guilty of the corruption - I use words like 'swank' 'hella' 'toit' and on and on... its not that I dont like the way it sounds - but it does leave a lack in definition. It sounds less dignified and less classy to talk that way.

To try and compare one with another to see who's "better" just seems... I don't know... it doesn't really serve any purpose? This isn't a knock at this thread at all, because I think this is much more "just a bit of fun" than other stuff that has been called that. I think it's good to compliment someone, as long as you're not putting others down in the process.

I like that sort of attitude. I know I rank near the bottom in terms of looks, so it wouldn't affect me really, but I don't really like the attitude of, you know, "she's so much hotter than any of you others, why don't you just go and fester somewhere like the pond scum you are" - there are some really lovely people here (in looks and personality), like Peech, Tink, Aerou and Oksana to name just a few. I have CFS as well, and its a really bugger. I CANNOT stay up all night, and I can't function on less than 6 hours sleep... I usually need at least 9. I am fairly unfit compared to what I was before I had CFS, for the simple reason I didnot have enough energy to exercise.

I have watched many of your cartoons (in the past) and those high school films and I was just wondering is it really as strictly hierarchial as it is imade out to be? With everything based on looks so that the Prom Queen/King stand at the top and the 'geeks' are that the bottom?

I just wondered to what extent the cartoons/movies were satirisation.
