Well, Bits, it turns out that the Red Virus is actually of Terran origin, meaning that something must have survived the fall through Aurea Borealis' atmoshpere. So therefore, it is actually a strain of the influenza virus that landed on Aurea Borealis! Somehow, it adapted, mutated into a half-plant half-bacterial virus life form. And since it is a plant, there is a very VERY low risk of it spreading into the Terran environment. About a 1% chance.
