Someone tried to break into my house one night during december, I was in my room on my computer, and I heard the back screen door open (it makes a creaking sound thats audible throughout the house), but the main door was locked (deadbolted) and about 15 seconds later, I heard the door open again, so I grabbed my knife and club, and went downstairs, turned the light on, and opened the door, but no one was there. I should have looked for footprints on the ground, but I didn't think of it. If it wasn't for my anti-gun mother, who I live with (before you jump on this, I'm a 17 year old high school junior), I'd walked down with a K-98k and 5 rounds in the mag. I'll post a list of guns that I want to get in another thread.

It does not say "intruder". It says "thief". A person is only a thief after they have left your property with your possession(s). If you shoot an 'intruder', you are morally culpable for that person's death.

It's probably too late to reply to this, but in case you weren't aware of it, murder and car-jacking are separate crimes which have their own sentencing guidelines. If someone in possession of any drug does these things, they'll serve time for all the offenses. But you're advocating sentencing someone based on the "lifestyle" their drug implies, whether or not those additional crimes are actually committed. Thankfully, the courts are a little more with it than you and don't assume that someone is guilty of murder because of hasty generalizations about the comparative violence and desperation of various drug users.

For the record, the sentencing guidelines have been equalized, because previously, possession of one gram of crack was held to be equivalent to possession of 100 grams of cocaine. WTF? How does that make sense?
