What I mean is some people would come meet you just because you try to isolate yourself, so no point really. :P

And the second part? Bah. So what. I get pissed easily. Certain kinds of people just irk me, and certain others provoke me to try and stab them to death with pens. But that's me. Having a short temper isn't bad, it just means you have to figure out what makes you angry and why. That's the hard part.. AFter that, it's easy.

What I mean to say is that, and I seem to be really stupid tonight, can't seem to form a coherent sentance on the first try, is that you can't just sit back and go, 'Ok, Im a horrible person.' They would have to be intelligent and able to make me laugh, firstly and most importantly. Mature, but capable of acting childish at the same time. Similar political beliefs are probably a requirement, too. I'm not fussy with that usually with friends, but I think a partner should probably share at least similar values.

Geekiness and being musical are both big pluses too :D

As for physical features, meh. I can't really express a preference, physical attraction just happens. I do have a weakness for brown eyes and brunettes though :p

I'm probably the first one to say this, but: I don't want a woman who makes a lot more money than me. I also don't want one that makes a lot less. See, I want it to be closer to equal so we never feel like we're each other's kept women or anything, and we're never stuck in a relationship over the money we're dependent on.

Ideally, I don't want anyone particularly short, since I'm tall enough that it'd be awkward. I don't want anyone who weighs under about 120 pounds, either (depending on height, of course). I get very annoyed with people very quickly. It grows to the point where I cannot stand to be around them, as every little thing begins to be magnified.

I just realized, I don't think I've yet posted my ideal mate!!

My ideal mate is the girl who comes into a room with that unmistakable twinkle in her eyes, and makes the walls melt away with a radiant smile. When she walks - the world is made peaceful by her footsteps, and when she talks - the air is sweetened by the sound. Well, to tell you the truth, I've never had a problem with a woman living up to my 'standards' since I don't really have any when it comes right down to it. I do however seem to have a problem living up to my own exectations of myself in relationships. It is quite unfortunate that I have sacrificed many good relationships by pushing women away or not allowing them to become emotionally intimate, but I have suffered losses in my life that have preserved an unwillingness to risk suffering any such losses in love.

Another side to this is that on the few rare occasions where I have allowed myself to become intimate, and vunerable in that way, I have thus far lost the women to the subsequent problem created by an inability to be without them. Suddenly all of the feelings of care, trust, and intimacy - are replaced by a feeling of abandonment if I can't be with them or have contact with them every minute that it is (or in my often deluded mind, ought to be) possible. It's not that I think I ought to be spending so much time with them out of obligation, or becuase I can't live without them... It's that deep down I am so terribly afraid that something might happen to an end where I will be left with the regret of not having spent enough time, given enough of myself, or really let them know beyond words how I feel. (Sort of the Garth Brooks 'If Tomorrow Never Comes (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=8296623&postcount=80) ' idea.)

Sometimes it's easier just to avoid that problem all together, move on with your life - and accept the seemingly obvious truth, that the problems preventing a normal relationship are lasting ones. I don't want to involve some unwitting person into that fold unless they seem truly committed
