I don't know about Schroeder, but Chirac is center-right.

Certainly, from a European/Canadian/Australian perspective.. I wasn't denying that. I just thought it was hilarious clicking the "Election 2004" chart and seeing Kerry as right of center, which is beyond whacky to most here.

Heh, we have the same problem here really. A right-wing major party in power (Liberal party) and a center-right wing major party (Labor Party) as opposition- but they are often painted as a bunch of Socialists. People don't really have perspective any more.
