Thank you for boosting my self esteem a little. :) I don't think I am ever going to have a "woman of substance" look, even if I try though. Whenever I gain weight I always gain it in my stomach area, not in my hips like a normal woman. I think there is something wrong with me there, lol. I am hoping after I have kids that problem will kind of fix itself. :p

When asked, people always give their eye color in absolutes ... blue, green, brown, etc.

If you look at their eye, though ... I mean really look ... it's like a fingerprint.

My eyes are staggeringly bright baby blue at first look, but there's a slightly jagged ring of gold around the pupil and flecks of brown and emerald green interlaced in the iris. Upon even closer inspection, you can see minute scratches of an almost burgundy red near every fleck of green.

Eye color is an amazing thing if you look deep enough.

So post that close up!

True. Mine are emerald with gold around the pupil. Be careful though, iridology works. Trust me. ;)

Ah the fun stuff! I have fond memories of the 15 mile hike in basic with full gear. After 8 miles, I felt like I had a jeep on my back that kept kicking me in the nuts.

Near the end of my military career ( though I didn't know it was near the end at that time :( ), I joined a Reserve SpecOps Battalion in Greeensboro, NC. My very first drill they had a required forced 10 km rucksack march with full field gear and 80 lb backpack ( they used law books and weighed them! ).

I was in great shape for a 53-year-old, running ten miles every other day and working out with weights on alternate days, but they didn't know that. I didn't have to go on the march, but did anyway. I found out later that they didn't expect me to even finish!

Not only did I finish, I came in seventh, ahead of most of the younger guys in the Battalion. Damn, that felt good! :D
