I just looked it up, it is a word, however, It refers to 'Becoming Extinct' not 'Became Extinct' You see, its present tense, not past.

One day humanity will wear you down to the point where you see that for every single pro there is a con. Presidents Bush is a pro for some, and a con for others. Hateing a man because he represents what you hate solves nothing, because he's never going to change, and humanity will never change.

As for your claims that the earth is alive.....well, theres always time to destroy it later if thats the case.

Guys, about that ancenstors and the crystal in the core causing an earthquake, I know where Skapedroe is getting that from. I don't recall the name of the book, but it's this great novel. Essentially, for the Earth in that book--which is our Earth, essentially--there is another axis to the Earth that runs through the Bermuda Triangle to the Devil's Sea near Japan; it runs through this giant crystal that is the generator of the magnetic field of the Earth. Now, around a 100,000 years ago, in the book, there was an eight continent in the Pacific that was so close to this crystal that the indiginous peoples were able to excavate some of it. This crystal had some strange qualities; for example, if a light was shone onto it, it's weight would decrease enormously; put it on basalt, and the basalt would also lose weight, allowing you to carry it around. This was how the author explained those Polynesian villiges made from basalt.
Now, a solar flare occurred and the ejected mass were to come in contact with the crystal, it would send a shockwave down through the crystal, causing an earthquake. Such an earthquake split the continent apart, essentially destroying it. So that's what he means by the crystal.

That's because the way I explain it makes it so; it's very simplified compared to the book. I know I've got the book somewhere; I'll find it and give you the title of it so you can check it out. It's actually a lot more complex than I made it sound, and it makes a lot more sense in the book.

Global warming is not junk science. Are you a scientist? Have you spent years in advanced schools learning this knowledge? Have you then spent years researching the subject? If you have, then maybe you can say something. But until you do, I suggest you trust the scientists rather than make decisions based on your political beliefs.
Though I do agree that Skapedroe is a moron; he makes us liberals look like wackos.

Hey guys ever wonder if Skapedroe watched the CG movie Final Fantasy and took it for real life events or events in the past/future?

I mean with the concept of Gaia and the earth as a living entity?

I could also say the earth is a living entity, but when I say living I don't mean a thinking, breathing, feeling entity. I mean it as an explanding, contracting entity.

I actually don't believe either. I think the Earth is a ball of many elements that was formed millions upon millions of years ago.

But let the wacko's go on spouting their non-sense; it make for some enteraining reading. Also makes all the other far left leaning people look like idiots.

While the rest of the post was hilarious as well, what I find funniest is this:

the other nations of the world must apply sanctions to the US until Bush stops obstructing the fight against the planets survival
democracynow.org

So, we have to stop Bush from obstructing the fight AGAINST the planets' survival? Do you even know what you wrote there? In other words, the rest of the world is fighting to destroy the planet (they are fighting against its survival) except for Bush who is trying to save it. If this statement were true, that would make Bush a hero.

Hm... You know, if some of the windbags on this forum would STFU, I'm sure that would go a long way to solving the global warming problem.

I'm still wondering how there have been many times in geological history when the world has been much warmer than it is now, and it didn't destroy the whole planet. Hmm.. I guess that occurs naturally. By Skapedroe's logic then, nature must be actively trying to destroy nature.

Skapedroe, I need some proof that Bush *intends* to *actively destroy the planet*. I need a policy paper, a quote, or something where he says, "well, folks, it's my intention to destroy the planet and all life as we know it, so get out there and cause more global warming"

Not to get horribly off topic, but I think Lovecraft based Cthullu loosely on the ancient sumerian god Tiamat. According to some book I have the Sumerians sometimes referred to their underworld as Kutu, and in Sumerian "Kutullu" would literally mean man of Kutu. Both are evil serpent like ancient beings who were vanquished long ago and lie in a catonic state hatching sinsister plots. Some of the other entities mentioned by lovecraft such as Azathot and Shub Niggurath were actually Sumerian Gods as well.

So you shouldn't knock Tiamat if you dig Cthullu.

I'll quote the NY Post's review of State of Fear:

Crichton's heroic skeptics delight in noting things like the decline of global temperature from 1940 to 1970. And that since 1970 glaciers in Iceland have been advancing. And that Antarctica is getting colder and its ice is getting thicker.

Last week Fiona Harvey, the Financial Times' environmental correspondent, fresh from yet another international confabulation on climate change, wrote that although the Earth's cloud cover "is thought" to have increased recently, no one knows whether this is good or bad. Is the heat-trapping by the clouds' water vapor greater or less than the sun's heat reflected back off the clouds into space?

Climate-change forecasts, Harvey writes, are like financial forecasts but involve a vastly more complex array of variables. The climate forecasts, based on computer models analyzing the past, tell us that we do not know how much warming is occurring, whether it is a transitory episode, or how much warming is dangerous — or perhaps beneficial.

One of the good guys in "State of Fear" cites Montaigne's axiom: "Nothing is so firmly believed as that which least is known." Which is why 30 years ago the fashionable panic was about global cooling.

The New York Times (Aug. 14, 1975) saw "many signs" that "Earth may be heading for another ice age." Science magazine (Dec. 10, 1976) warned about "extensive Northern Hemisphere glaciation." "Continued rapid cooling of the Earth" (Global Ecology, 1971) could herald "a full-blown 10,000 year ice age" (Science, March 1, 1975). The Christian Science Monitor reported (Aug. 27, 1974) that Nebraska's armadillos were retreating south from the cooling.

Last week The Washington Post reported that global warming has caused a decline in Alaska's porcupine caribou herd and has lured the golden orange prothonotary warbler back from southern wintering grounds to Richmond, Va., a day earlier for nearly two decades. Or since global cooling stopped. Maybe.

We have roughly 4-5 billion years, we may escape.... If not... don't worry... You won't see that part of it, as the levels of solar radiation increase as the sun starts trying to fuse helium and other heavier elements increases, will kill us all off long before we get to see everything we've known through our entire civilization ripped apart by massive solar tidal forces, and blasted outwards into space as the outer layers of the sun are shed, and the remnants of the planet are bombarded with raw solar plasma.... Everything ends..... that's the only fact of life.

So....I've got some time?

Unless the evil time traveling Bush doesnt jump into the past to speed along the Sun's evolution using the giant crystal to speed up that affect so that when the Earth goes Bush can hire Halliburton to do the reconstruction.

It's because all those countries are muslim and the great evil (US). Unleashed the great earthquake satellite. And it split the earth and the seas rose and washed away the muslims. NO WAIT THATS NOT IT. Its called history in 1912 350,000 people were killed in an Earthquake in Japan. The Earth no matter how much we like to think we have surpassed it regulates itself. Things like diseases and viruses evolve and somehow they will keep the human population at equilibrium with the enviornment. A lot like the Snowshoe Hare and Lynx populations of Canada. So before you go blaming Bush and America lets face it we all cause polution and most of the Earths problems through ignorance and laziness so look at yourself before you point fingers.

Don't be silly! Why would they want to send an army of evil robots to tunnel to France? No, they've infiltrated the ranks of the French administration with invisible telepathic mind control squirrels, of course! Duh...

Because I work for N.U.M.B.N.U.T.S., the secret paramilitary organisation created to distribute crackpot theories on internet forums.

Right now, I'm covering for my friend and colleague, Skapadroe. At the moment he's on invisionfree.com, telling a kid that Bush is the reason his pet bunny died.

Heh, I'm enjoying this. :)

Nah, I'm not from America and I thinks she's a lunatic.

Comments on the irony of that statement considering my recent post would be much appreciated.

I enjoy the occasional departure from logic, but whenever I read her stuff, I get the sudden impression that I've got better things to do.

The funny thing is that the New York Times gave it a good review, when one of her chapters is titled "The Only Cop The New York Times Likes is the One in The Village People"! :)

1. Everything is Bush's fault. If you have hemorrhoids, it's because of Bush's pro-hemorrhoid policies.
2. The only country in the world that actually emits any pollutants that cause any environmental harm is the US - so it is responsible alone for global warming.
3. Europeans don't cause any harm - ever. They have only created historically wonderful things like croissants and espresso machines.

You wouldn't happen to know me? I'm the one with the Black Trenchcoat, the really big sunglasses, stink of sharpie, and always wear a large, fuzzy, pink flamingo shaped hat.
Anywho, I have a new one, Bush's anti Drug policy has caused all the druggies to simultaniously jump into a volcanoe, causing an extreme subterrainian build up, that may lead to further tsunamis, Tornadoes, Meteoroid impacts, and Dinoaur extinctions. Jurassic Park Watch out.

Bushs ancestors caused the earth to shift on its axis by trying to direct a ray from a giant crystal thru the center of the earths core

Of course global warming exists--you just refuse to accept its existance ;)

Read Michael Crichton's new book. In it, he has about 300 pages of footnoted, documented proof that global warming does not exist. Global warming has been invented by the government so that we will become afraid, and when we are afraid the government has more control over us. The same is true with terrorist attacks; we are not nearly as in danger of a terrorist attack as politicians would have us believe.

YEs, Global warming exists, but i really don't think it was created by man. Now, Im not gonna get into an argument about if we are speeding it up or not b/c 1. I dont know enough about the subject to not sound like an idiot and 2. i dont care.

And yes, skapedrope says some of the dumbest things i have ever heard. he puts my Ex-gf to shame.

This wave was caused by an earthquake. Earthquakes have nothing to do with the climate, NOTHING. As I geography student I have to make it abundantly clear how little earthquakes have to do with global warming. However, if you can prove that rising sea levels made the island more vulnerable to the tidal wave, fair play to you.

So are you a student of geography or geology?
Usually geography refers more to the mapping and description of the earth and geology refers to the mechanics of the earth. I can see by the dictionary entries(below) that it is possible that either is correct in this usage.

As part of my geography course, I study natural disasters such as earthquakes, although we don't go into too much detail about the mechanics behind it.
I admit that it could be feasible that icemelt could affect the distribution of weight on continental plates which may possibly have something to do with the earthquake. Indeed, the South coast of England is sinking because the weight of ice that was on Scotland in the last ice age has now lifted. So, Britain is tilting back the other way.

However, despite my meagre knowledge of geology, I still object to idiots who say that Bush caused an earthquake because his pro-global warming policies are pissing off Gaia.

Heat is only a measurement of dynamic energy. At thermodynamic armegeddon, energy will no longer be dynamic, everything will be potential. The universe will be Thermodynamically and actively dead in a state of perfect thermal equilibrium.

Is this based upon the ever expanding universe theory if so I think that was tossed out a few years ago, collapsed stars (aka black holes) being the reason. For perfect universal thermal equilibrium matter would have to be spread evenly over the entire universe with no gravity wells.

In short a black hole's immense gravity pulls in matter and energy (light) towards a single point, and it is theorized that once it attains such a great mass that matter is no longer able to exist in such an enviroment (ie even the smallest of subatomic particles collapse) that for a moment it transforms into a different entity called a singularity (basically a sphere of pure energy). This state only exists for that one moment and nature abhorring a vacuum corrects this the singularity explodes spewing energy and matter back into the universe creating a new galaxy (or universe if you subscribe to the theory that a singularity can only exist when all matter and energy is "sucked in" to one point)
