Languages. I'm pretty sure that the Old Testament was written in Hebrew, and the New in Latin.

And you know what pisses me off? I had that S in there and editted a word I had put in it afterwards and took the damned thing off. I would kick myself, but term might be turned on in his kinkiness.

First - no no forget it. Most intelligible people who are grateful to have been born in a country where you don't get your head chopped off for not bowing down to some fat old geizer with a funny hat know that the nation we currently live in was founded on christianity and held strong by noble men who fought an out of control empire against all odds and came out victorious. I could have made a much better point, but I didn't want to humiliate some retarded liberal bastard on a national scale.

What version of American history did you study? Most intelligent people know that we were founded by a group of men who didn't want to pay their taxes. Further, those that have actually taken the time to read the Constution (that's the document that founded our nation and the highest law in the land which frames our entire system of government) know that it is not based upon Christian belief or dogma, makes no reference to Christianity/Jesus, or indeed any reference to any God at all. Instead, it expressly provides for equal treatment for all under the law and for the right for all to worship as they see fit without governmental inteference. You are free to worship. So am I. I should also be free to live my life as I see fit when I am hurting none--which gay marriage would not do, nor does gay kissing.

Wow...you really don't know me. Since when is having ratings on TV and movies (which are in place to help parents guide what their children view in the first place) a knock on my "just go out and reproduce".

I'm actually a young Republican who's reponsible about reproduction and marriage. I, for one, take marriage, family and sex in an old fashioned and very serious manner. Jesus Christ, so shoot me in the ass if I don't want my kids watching Mtv or NYPD Blue. You think I have time to watch every single tv show and movie before they see it? These programs has a rating for a reason.

If anything, I'd like to see people have less kids and smaller families.

Okay. He's got a point. I wouldn't let any offspring of mine watch MTV either. Not because of nudity or sexual overtones, mind you, but because I'd HATE for the fruit of MY loins to get retarded ideas about having to be or chase emaciated blonde hoes with big chests. But the reasons we don't want our offspring not to watch isn't as importnt as taking responsibility for what they watch ourselves.

ALWAYS a solid foundation to stand on.

The evil lies in wanting to dictate what OTHER people are allowed to choose to do and watch. I don't understand the entire deal with uptight people not wanting their kids to see nudity (the most NATURAL state in human existance) but I support their right to restrict their children from looking at it on TV and online. I do NOT support, but rather vehemently FIGHT their wishes to restrict the REST of us from choosing to view or not to view to make THEIR parenting choices easier.

Think about the children? Think about YOUR children and leave the rest of the parents to mind their own. And leave those of us who are adults to choose what WE wish to do and see. Because the moment you attempt to use your children as a justification to take my freedom to look at and do what I wish (that OMGz does not include kids at ALL euw!) is the same moment I'll turn around and tell you to ram them right back up your *bleep!!!*

Heheheh! You are beginning to amuse me, little man. And no, that's not a good thing in your case, as it's a very cruel kind of humor you're indulging me in. It's that truely mean, absolutely shameful laughing-at-the-mentally-disadvantaged kind of amusement. If you continue to make me laugh this way, I'll need to go all Martin Luther on y'all and start scourging myself. But no... I can't do that because Terminalia might get off on it and then blame me for making him commit the sin of Onan.

But seriously now, the only one you're humiliating with this post is yourself. Quite fortunately for you, you don't know very much about the foundations of our nation or the men who helped found it, so you will be spared the discomfort of realizing what an ass you've made of yourself with the quoted post.

My irreverance towards our founding fathers has nothing to do with ingratitude and a great deal to do with actually bothering to learn about who founded the country I live in and why it is I enjoy what few freedoms that still remain to me. I have no need to deify the men who have been given credit for founding our nation. The truth is far more interesting and much more relevant. And the truth is that the men who started our nation did so for financial and political reasons and just happened to be in a situation much like the pre-industrialized version of what we, the people are living under now. Restrictions on basic freedoms, religious intolerance, taxation without proper representation and a system under which we, the people do not have a real voice in the shaping and direction our nation takes.

America was NOT founded on Christianity. It was founded on money. Get back to your books, Hook.

As the government of the United States of America is not in any sense founded on the Christian Religion,-as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion or tranquility of Musselmen,-and as the said States never have entered into any war or act of hostility against any Mehomitan nation, it is declared by the parties that no pretext arising from religious opinions shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries.

The homosexual free from the burden of procreation and child rearing will always lead, in art, literature, politics , all the fields which require a focused will. this will is lost in the concerns of conventional family life. that is why i believe, inorder to save the aryan race from destruction, it must be lead by an elite cadre of dedicated homosexuals. thus i present The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual National Socialist Workingperson's Party.

This post is from back at the beginning, but I'll confess, I've seen plenty of people bash homosexuals before, but that's the first time I've seen anyone bash hetrosexuals. Congrats on being the first small-minded person on the other side of the fence.

Ok...so...I made it through about half of the posts, and I can read no more. I think it would take too long to run through and quote all of the things I'm planning on commenting on...I do apologize if that bothers anyone, and I hope I'm not being terribly repeatitive seeing as I have like 100 more posts to read...ah well. I'm just going to try to address things I haven't noticed addressed.

First...there was some attempted point about how in gay relationships where children are involved bad shit happens cus of the lack of a mother or father. If that's causing a problem then, logically thinking, divorces should be illegal, yes? Doesn't the United States currently have a senselessly high divorce rate? I can't remember what it is off the top of my head...but umm...it was high.

Second, homosexuality occurs in nature in monogamous animals. It is genetic. Genes are incredibly compilcated and certain combinations cause certain behaviors. There is probably not a SINGLE gene that just up and makes someone gay, it is likely to be a combination, and sometimes these combinations of genes are affected by the environment, and something triggers a certain reaction. A gay person and a straight person can have the same gene patterns, but something obviously happened to cause some reaction. REGARDLESS, it is not a conscious decision, and I don't understand why people have so much hatred toward something that is not a decision. No one gets up in the morning saying, "Oh snap! Today I'm going to go out and be gay!"

Third, marriage was not invented by Christians. There was marriage before Christianity came into existence. If marriage is Christian, why is it ok for an atheist to get "married" and not homosexuals, eh?

Fourth, religion...Christianity does not preach prejudice, and a lot of people seem to use it as a crutch for their own prejudice and that just makes a perfectly lovely religion concept look like complete shit. The Golden Rule...do unto others as you would have them do unto you...or if you would like to me to quote straight from the Bible (it is there several times, but here it is from Matthew 7:12: "Therefore, all things whatever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them; for this is the law..." On that note, as a homosexual individual, no good Christian individual should take any "rights" or "privaleges" from you because no good Christian would like it if those things were taken from them.
I have more...this time from John 8:7, "So when they continued asking him, he lifted himself up, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him cast the first stone at her." I suppose everyone is familiar with Jesus STOPPING the bunch of guys from stoning the prostitute, right? Jesus, Mr. Christianity, himself, STOPPED the punishment of a sinner. Hmmm...let me ponder this...prostitution, unlike homosexuality is an obvious conscious decicion (unless one was forced into prostitution, of course), and Jesus said, "Hey, don't be trying to punish her for her sins because EVERYONE sins, and none of you have the right to condemn anyone." Condemnation is up to God ONLY. No mortal person has the superiority to say that something is wrong. This is supposing homosexuality is a sin...
Yes, in the Old Testament, in Leviticus (20:13), "If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them." Alright, what about women? Are lesbians ok? It don't say nothing about women...and it also very blatantly contradicts ALL of the teachings of Jesus Christ. Jesus was a pacifist, he didn't want anyone to hurt anyone, not even a sinner like the previously mentioned prostitute.
Leviticus is full of crazy sins. I will enumerate, and enlighten ye all.
1) 19:27, "Ye shall not shave around your temples; neither shalt thou mar the corners of they beard." IT'S A SIN TO SHAVE! OMG! TO HELL WITH ALL OF THE CLEANLY SHAVEN MEN. I, personally, think even stubble is yucky, but do I go around saying men who shave can't get married? Nah, yo.
2) 19:19, "Ye shall keep my statutes. Thou shalt not let thy cattle gender with a diverse kind; thou shant not sow thy field with mixed seed; neither shall a garment mixed of linen and woollen come upon thee." Ohnos! I can't mix ANYTHING or so it seems...and oh dear...I think my shirt is a cotton polyester blend...to Hell I go with all the fags, and men who shave.
3) 11:10, "And all that have no fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you." No lobsters, no craps, no shrimp. SIN! MEEP! I like shellfish...a lot. Why are no Christians out protesting Red Lobster restraunts?
4) 11:7, "And the swine, though he divide the hoof, and he cloven-footed, yet he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean to you." No pork. No ham for Christmas, it is very CLEARLY a sin. I like bacon a great deal, I'm screwed.
Wow. I wonder how many Christians keep all of those...do tell me if you do because I will applaud you, and you can bash the gay folk all you want.
Want something from the New Testament, seeing as the Old Testament is terribly outdated with the exception of being gay? How about Timothy 2:9, "In this manner, also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with godly fear and sobriety, not with braided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array." Braiding hair + jewelry = SIN. Onward to Timothy 9:11-12, "Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I permit not a woman to teach, nor usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence." Sounds kinda sexist, doesn't it? Women are inferior. The Bible says so. Right there. *points at it*
Whoa...that was a lot to type, and with it done, if you're going to take the Bible completely literally, take ALL of it literally, and not just the things you don't like...such as homosexuals. Take into account how old it is, and how it's been interpretted and reinterpretted to fit whoever was doing the interpretting, and how LIKELY it is that things have been added and ommited, and it was being translated.

Want some personal experiences too? You're gonna get them. I'm from North Carolina (a good ol' Bible Belt state). I was raised in a completely conservative family in a completely rural area with no exposure whatsoever to homosexuality, aside from random family members telling me they would kill me if I were ever a lesbian or dated anyone black. I was honestly unsure what a gay person even was, and well...I'm a lesbian. And I hate to break it to some of you, but I played with dolls, and I like the color pink, and I wear dresses, and high heels, and make-up, and everything else a "normal" girl would. If you were to see me, there would be no way you could tell I happen to be capable of loving other girls. It seems like I would be a racist, homophobic conservative...I guess racism, homophobia, and conservativism are not contagious diseases like being gay, which I seriously doubt is a disease. If it were, I wouldn't be single because I would have severely contaminated a lot of people. At times, I have become rather distraught over my sexuality, and I have wished with all of my wishing power that I were straight and "normal" like most other people, but the reason that happened was because of all the ignoranance, and prejudice toward us by...people like the person who started this post, to whom I say...sheltering children from reality is not the answer to the "gay problem" or any problem for that matter.

Have a nice day, everybody.

Oh no, he's far from the first. I've seen a very small handful of homosexuals who are just as bad as their hetero brothers in asshattiness. I only wish that both sides of the fence were less ugly and bigoted about it. Live and let live.

Let the homosexuals be glad that the heteros choose willingly to take up the onus of breeding. Let the heterosexuals be glad that the homosexuals aren't competeing for both their prospective mates and their offspring's neccessary resources. Let the bisexuals stand on the fence and watch them all in confusion and delight at being free to live in both worlds.

This is sexual freedom.

Honey, I know that Kansas is one of those middle-of-the-nation-food-producing-places that I tend to avoid to preserve my sanity and avoid being tossed on a big pile of wood and set on fire... but really... it IS part of America, therefor recieves at least a modicum of civilization and some minor educational assistance.

Have you actually been conscious during your school days? Did they give you books?

Let me educate you just a little. From the Miriam-Webster Dictionary:

Main Entry: har·em
Pronunciation: 'har-&m, 'her-
Function: noun
Etymology: Arabic harIm, literally, something forbidden & haram, literally, sanctuary
1 a : a usually secluded house or part of a house allotted to women in a Muslim household b : the wives, concubines, female relatives, and servants occupying a harem
2 : a group of women associated with one man
3 : a group of females associated with one male -- used of polygamous animals

I disagree on that, Im not trying to villify gays for it, just point out it is alot

more easier for them to do so, casual sex on the spot with no strings

attached, comes easier between men, than between men and women.

Once again, this is not a flame.

A thought I have been having through this whole post is...I really think those against this gay marriages really mean against two men marrying, and this post shows that the definition of gay seems to be men only, so I would like to ask if in the original post it were two gay Women that kissed would there have been such a knee jerk reaction?

I think not, as men seem to think it cute when two women are together not to mention their hope that they will be the filling for that sandwich! Sad thing for them is if they ever got two women in bed I think they would feel a bit left out of the equation as the two women would pay more attention to each other rather then the man.

As a bisexual in a monogomous hetero relationship ie marriage whom is also raising 4 children trust me I have heard it all. And before I am questioned I am faithful and I don't act on urges compelling me to go find a woman to be with. I am attracted to both sexes but in love with my husband.

Now perhaps I am getting into the too much information bit however, what do you all think..would there be such an outrage if it was lesbians kissing in public as long as those gay men just kept it hidden away?

Here you go.
http://blood-dance.net/~azhrarn/azhr599.jpg

I dont know what Czech is on about.

Czech was reacting in the xenophobic manner I tend to associate with people who were raised to believe that all things must conform to a certain mold. These are also people who tend to see something strong and independant and immediately feel the need to tear it down or make it small so as to feel less threatened by it. I long ago learned that such people were nothing to take to heart.

And really, I'm NOT for everyone. My particular aesthetic is not by any means regarded as attractive by the mainstream US population and it causes me a lot of having to endure that kind of open griefing. THAT more than any other factor allows me to understand to a good extent what it is that openly gay people have to deal with on a day to day basis. But unlike them, I CAN just let my hair grow back its natural red, I CAN remove my piercings and I CAN go have lazer treatments done to remove my tattoos.

With gay people, it's more like me donning a red wig and a business suit. You can still see it and it's still there, no matter what you do to hide it. Which is why I become so INFURIATED when people say "Live like a hetero and start banging women like normal folks." They don't HAVE that choice, really. They can only go through the motions and be horribly miserable doing so.

Do you see what I'm saying?

I really, really wish I could say that it was because no one could reasonably argue what you had to say. From my standpoint, what you presented was beyond arguement. But I fear, judging by the long and often ridiculous gauntlet of posts I have read (and yes, I was masochistic enough to read them all), that being rational, citing relevant biblical quotes and making an inarguable case is not enough to make many of the posters to this thread not respond.

Sad sad sad... but I think they didn't read it. Maybe it looked too daunting, being such a large textblock...

Czech, why is it that you are so amazingly insistant on ending the thread? Really, I find myself wondering what it is that brought you here to disrupt and hyjack it in the first place. It isn't as if any of the debates of this type can ever be satisfactorily resolved, but it DOES open dialog and allow opposing sides of the idea to see and understand just a litle bit better by the reading and responding. If not the ideas, then the people who carry the ideas... which in its own way is a step towards eventually, in the future, coming to some form of agreement and understanding.

Otherwise why would ANYONE debate a sizzling issue like homosexuality, pro-life vs pro-choice, or any topic of intensely opposing political and idealogical veiw?

Is that ALL you got from any of the posts here? Really? Hon... I almost kind of feel sorry for you if that's the case. Even those posts which made the veins pop out in my neck and my fingers flex with the desire to throttle the poster gave me more insight into who believes these things that make me so angry and why they believe them and perpetuate them. To me, this is the essence of building an understanding of people that aren't like me at all so that in time I can make an effort to peacefully coexist with them rather than blindly hate them. And to me, this is a noble and worthwhile pursuit.

I never delude myself that anything I say will change their minds, though I do from time to time flatter myself by thinking that SOMEthing I say might make them stop for a few minutes and THINK about what they believe in and try to find some rational, logical reason to support it. This is something I feel that benefits both my debate opponent AND myself. Because maybe, just maybe they might barf up a nugget of truth that might change how *I* percieve things. I walk into these debates HOPING that someone will shed some light on the nature of the arguement and what can be done to resolve it so that EVERYone is left wiser and more informed and KNOWING that I might not have every fact and truth and that the presentation of some misplaced fact or truth might change my view of things.

I know this is not how a lot of people approach this kind of thing, being impatient, closed to new thoughts and ideas and sometimes stunningly unable to draw meaning from the opposing ideas of others... but not everyone has the comprensive ability of the average rat terrier, only able to get blah blah blah damned homos or blah blah blah damned bigots out of another person's post. Sure, sometimes you have to pop someone in the nose a few times to make them wake up and reread to understand what you're saying... but I assume even a 15 year old with a poor education has enough maturity and intelligence to take something of value away from a heated debate.

That is the nature of the long-fought open debate. It becomes cyclicly repetetive as those who don't have the patience to read through the entirety before posting join the debate. But even in the repetition, there is some variation that allows for new insights and understandings. But you have to actually READ and try to understand what each person is trying to say.

Sure, there will always be those who make statements like your reiteration of gays deserve rights without supporting statements that clarify WHY you believe this to be true. And there isn't much to be gained from that kind of post. But then there will ALSO be beautifully articulated, deeply insightful posts like the one made by Turkehnaria that actually make you step back and THINK about the issue and its origins, regardless of what side you support -- if you bother to take the time and read them.

So you really can't say that nothing fresh is being brought to the table without making it clear that you aren't really LISTENING to what's being said.

Here we see a basic problem: minorities deserving rights. In fact, as a member of the majority, I feel discrimated against. My rights have become secondary.

My vote is equality for all people -- even the Christian, American, white, male, heterosexual, middle-aged, non-handicapped, law-abiding individuals.

As for homosexual people being a negative influence, as was stated at the start of this thread, that is a subjective opinion. If my children were of an impressionable age, but were too young to have been exposed to the concept of homosexual behavior, I would explain it to them.

I would say, "For some reason, some people of the same sex are aroused only by those of that persuasion."

I would explain my belief that we must love all people -- even those who believe differently than we believe about what comprises a sin. I would also explain that while I believe public displays of affection are inappropriate for heterosexual as well as homosexual people, it is also impolite to stare. Therefore, let us continue with our Christmas shopping...

Dear Czecho: You obviously failed to read the initial post for this thread, as well as failed to read what I wrote entirely. The complainant noted that he or she was offended by seeing two men kiss in an area of a mall, while he and his child were shopping, and there were other children around who were able to witness that act.

Richard Nixon is dead, but he is still a former President of the United States. The political subdivisions of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republic no longer exists, but the geography is still there and the people who comprised that republic still exist (except those who were alive but have died and those who were born after the reorganization of that area's political system).

i find it very interesting the way the homosexuals in this forum think.

I think there could be a list started to why you think the way you do.

A. instead of admitting that you made the decision to be gay and taking responsibility, you say you were born that way to make yourself feel better.

B. Gays are like any other highschool clique. imposing themselves upon others in a manner far different then a simple wardrobe or hair-style.

people are finding new ways to stand out and this is one of those extremes.

C. Mental/Hormonal imbalances(i have no research or anything to prove it but there has got to be something wrong with your head.)

D. Insecurities. their is something about yourself you dont like and experimenting with those you feel most comforable with(same sex) is your self-expression.

if homosexuality was right, god would have made men be able to have kids out their asses. because afterall that is the whole point in sex....procreation. thats why even anal and oral with the opposing sex is wrong.

I think it's very interesting the way the bigots in this forum think.
I think there could be a list started to why you think the way you do.

A. Instead of accepting that some people are gay, you first have to claim that it's 'wrong' and 'evil' and 'goes against nature'. Then, you refuse to even entertain the possibility that it may be a choice, instantly dismissing it with the argument that was used in the above-quoted post or some variation thereof. Then, to top it off, you claim that many of us aren't even gay, and we're just doing it for attention.

B. Bigots are like any other highschool clique. imposing themselves upon others in a manner far different then a simple wardrobe or hair-style.
People are re-using old ways and ideas to stand out and this is one of those extremes.

C. Mental/Hormonal imbalances(i have no research or anything to prove it but there has got to be something wrong with your head.)

D. Insecurities. their is something about yourself you dont like and surrounding yourself with those you feel most comforable with(same beliefs) is your self-expression.

If bigotry was right, 'god' wouldn't have written in the very book that many of said bigots are using to further their bigotry that bigotry is wrong. Making them complete hypocrites. Because afterall that is the whole point in bigotry....feeling like you are right.. Thats why even following a different sect of Christianity is an unforgivable offense.

:p

good job, still... coul you explain how you 1st discovered your gay? hopefully it's pg-13 :D :p :D

THAT is fuel for a completely different discussion. Which we should probably begin in another thread. And yes. I often wish I had a nifty phallus of my very own that wasn't made out of rubber, latex or some other non-fleshly material. Though my boyfriend tells me every time I mention it that he'd just hate the living daylights out of it if I had such an appendage.
Am I the only one beginning to wonder if I wasn't a bisexual man in my last life?

Yes most women, probably all wish they could really give it back, and a lot of

men wish sometimes they were women, this is carnal desires ruling our

consience, and must be resisted, so we are true men and women.

What makes it correct or incorrect?
I can hardly think of a way that it makes any rational sense to use 'correct' and 'incorrect' in reference to a sexual orientation.

i agree, it's like saying "most of the world is white, so anyone not white is wrong"

"Its after christmas, actually."

honestly, if it isnt more then 5 words, it isnt worth mentioning.

You see? Here is another example of a lack of thought. I simply noted your failure to respond appropriately to anything related to the point I made. Instead, you took one part of my notation out of context. This is a typical ploy of objectionable people who are a tad slower than average in the mental realm. As for "ape shit," I suppose it can be used as one word and it can be used as a verb by people of your mental caliber.

*snipping lots of very good sense and good parenting tactics while being really impressed*

I fully support the truth of the idea that the white, hetero, XTian man is losing his equality in the huge fracas that is our government's and society's attempts to equalize things for a number of minority groups. Affirmative action as it stands in its implementation is horribly skewed and unjust. This is not to say that I think that women and people of non-caucasian descent do not deserve the same chance that the plain old white male has traditionally gotten, but that I believe that in a lot of ways those who have the advantage of rigorously enforced affirmative action are given an unfair advantage.

I also loathe all of this political correctness crap. It emasculates white guys socially and often, in MY perceptions, kind of leans towards making them the enemy. It's like some bass-ackwards form of racism against white men.

We, as Americans seem hellbent on excess in everything we do, oftentimes to the point where we exchange one wrong for its opposite wrong rather than balancing the scales to RIGHT the original wrong. When I argue to defend the rights of my gay friends, I'm not supporting elevating them above straight people, I'm arguing to win some sort of "even playing field" where they recieve the same basic rights, freedoms and opportunities as everyone else.

And with that... I'm off to bed.

that is perfectly fine, but if they have the values that allows them to have sex with men, what stops them from haveing sex with children. but that is besides the point.

if you were straight...and your 4 yr. old son was straight, would you want the gay teacher to be influencing your son to be gay....he doesnt have to be saying" Son! you should be gay just like me" but his actions and thoughts could be jsut as influential.

but again here comes the double standard with the straight teacher and a gay student.

but you do have to cater to the majority eh?

Ohmigawd, who would want a female student with a male teacher?
If they have the values that allows them to have sex with women, what stops them from haveing sex with children. But that is not the point.

If you were a parent...and your 4 yr. old daughter was not sexually active, would you want the male teacher to be influencing your daughter to be sexually active...he doesn't have to be saying" Girl! You should like me" but his actions and thoughts could be influential.

(seriously, man, actually read some of the posts before yours, mmkay? Being gay has literally nothing to do with paedophilia, and having values that allow you to have sex with men has nothing to do with having values that allow you to have sex with children. It's called the Slippery Slope fallacy, for future reference, as you will be accused of it a lot.)

Oh oops, I didn't clarify what I was talking about first, I just randomly launched into it. Sorry, I tend to do that...

I didn't mean that the theory says people drift back and forth, I meant that it said something more along the lines that there aren't many people that feel only desire for the opposite sex, and the same with only desire for the same sex.

I don't know if it's true or not, but I'd say it makes sense for many people. I don't know if for all, since I'm sure my acquaintances are not a good representative sample.

He has none, if infact, as we are led to believe by some that homosexuality is hereditary, now that homosexuality is more openly accepted less gay people are having children through forced male-female marriages/partnerships then the number of gay people in the world would be decreasing.

I know many people who would like to consider themselves open to experimentation, but the same sex just turns them off so badly they can't do it.

So personally, i would disagree with the claim.

right sorry, that was written hastily and under the influence of too much coke.

Just give me time to get the feel of this thread, and yes, blurred boundaries.

Homosexuality is apparently affected by a great number of factors, which exactly are the real factors we don't know, but anything environmental which would affect ones choice of sexual preference would definitely have blurred lines.

People have many reasons for experimenting and so on with members of the same sex, each with differing degrees of strength. So you can't define everyone into gay, bi, straight. It's just too general

That any better CS?

um, dude? i was citing general statistics. i have stated many times in the past that i prefer friendships and relationships with men, and my current relationship (going on 4 years now) is with a man.
come on, Termie, at least put some effort into it. you're just embarassing yourself now.

You think so, well you just told the other guy, all women are disadvantaged

in some ways, by having sex with men, pain, disease etc and that women are

a safer option for them, does this mean your one of the few lucky ones?

Please everyone, ignore anything said by Chedder Goodness, especially the threads in which he talks about England, how Christian we all are, or how we want non-English people to go back to whence they came. He is a silly moron who does not represent the rest of us Brits, and just goes to show how ignorance and fear can lead to such a pathetic and flawed state of mind.

Personally, what two people choose to do, sexually, has no impact on my life whatsoever. I shall do as I please in that respect, as should everyone. Nobody chooses their sexuality and should not expect to be subject to prejudice because of their natural predisposition. You cannot simply turn someone gay, or stop being gay, just because you see someone in a shop kissing another man or because it is taught in schools. Homosexuality has always been a part of society and it always will be. As far as I'm concerned, anybody that loves anybody is a positive thing. It's the lack of love that has caused us all to be in the shit we're in today, and it's intolerance that pushes that further.

Being gay is not natural only in the sense that you cannot reproduce. But, then again, somebody who has lost their ability to carry a child in a car accident, say, also cannot give birth. So, do we cast them out of society too? You're treading a dangerous path. And what about all the hetero parents that abuse their child, as well as the shocking divorce rate and levels of teenage pregnancy? Surely, if a child can have two loving parent figures, whether they be all male, all female or a mixture, he/she is going to have as strong a foundation as possible in life?

And another thing, this whole stereotype of Christians being intolerant in matters of homosexuality is inaccurate for many, so don't you, Chedder Goodness, start to promote that idea just because you've had a failed life and have serious issues with matters that you cannot understand, the whole of Christiandom shares your opinion. The truth is, especially in the whole "go back where they came from" bullshit, Christian society would probably spit on you. You pathetic excuse for a human being.

Nice style. So if Bottle doesn't fit in to the statistics she was quoting, then she is obviously twisted and bigoted?

Hmm...

There's evidence toward this belief, but there's also evidence against it. The truth is there's no gene that says hey I'm gay. It just happens, the gay gene was a hope for some scientific fools who wanted to find a way to ex out homosexuality. Problem is, it's been around a lot longer than people think, so even if it was genetic almost everyone has this gene anyway.

Homosexuality is a way for nature to balance out and deal with overpopulation. It's a genetic trait that works when there is too much genetic variation in a species which signifies that it is overpopulated, and so this gene becomes a dominant one and simply rearranges the normal chemicals that channel sexual feelings. A lot of people, however, usually don't notice they are gay until an experience where they feel things different from straight people happens, but I'm thinking this is changing since it is mostly caused by growing up with people who don't touch on sexuality in such a way, and as society is expanded and more people open up then I think you'll see more newcomers from the closet.

Leviticus 18:22 says,
"You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female. It is an abomination.

Leviticus 20:13 says,
"If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act. They shall surely be put to death. Their blood guiltiness is upon them."

Romans 1:26-27 (Pauline epistle):
"For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. Their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural, and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men . . ." (Revised Standard version)

2 Peter 2:4-6

“For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but delivered them, drawn down by infernal ropes to the lower hell, unto torments, to be reserved unto judgment: and spared not the original world, but preserved Noe (Noah), the eighth person, the preacher of justice, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly. And reduced the cities of the Sodomites, and of the Gomorrhites, into ashes, condemned them to be overthrown, making them an example to those that should after act wickedly.”

Jude 7 depicts the activity as "gross immorality" and going after "strange flesh." Peter wrote that Lot was "oppressed by the sensual conduct of unprincipled men," and "by what he saw and heard...felt his righteous soul tormented day after day with their lawless deeds." These people were "those who indulged the flesh in its corrupt desires and despised authority" (2 Peter 2:7-10).

Since most of the arguments relating to religion are primarily Christian/Catholic I used the Bible. Now look, it IS in the Bible and these passes are MUCH more clear than the story of the Sodomites. HOWEVER, just because it's in the Bible of course doesn't mean that we - on earth - should judge these sinners. Yes, homosexuality is one of the gravest of sins and will cost its sinners an eternity in hell. JUST because we know that, we have no right to treat them inhospitably for Christ teachers throughout the New Testament to love you neighbors as yourself et cetera and nowhere does he preach the condemnation of a minority (if if they're sinners). For we are not their judge, God the Father Almighty will judge them on the day of the apocalypse, not us, so it isn't our job to discriminate against them - regardless. However, in terms of marriage, that is a religious union between a man and a woman and cannot be changed. If homosexuals really want the tax breaks and monetary benefits associated with marriage maybe we can give them a civil union or something. But don't call people that are against homosexuality psycho bigots just because they disagree with you... don't you find that ironic at all? Because they have a different opinion here you are ripping on them... for discriminating against people that have a different sexual preference.
