Sebastian. I hate it. It doesn't go with my last name at all, which is an Irish name, but with the " O' " removed, so it sounds utter shit.

I love the name Sebastian :) I always found it fun to say, and its not a name you hear very often.

Dejan is used as both a first name and surname. It is Slavic in origin, more exactly Serbian.
It can mean 2 things. "God-Like" from the Latin Deus Dea, surname first recorded in the 14th century.
or from the verb Deja. Means one who gets things done.

Ok, thanks, I really appreciate it, :). Although, I knew about the God-like meaning, as it says on my paper, but I didn´t know about the second one, now I do, thanks to you. :) Hey, it even rhymes.
But I do wonder in what language "Deja" is, it isn´t serbian anyways, if I am not mistaken.

But again, thanks, ;)

I rechecked.
The info I have shows it as an archaic verb, "to do" or "to get done"
I have to assume its archaic Serbian but can't tell you much more than that
as I've never studied the language itself in any detail. (my hobby only extends to the surnames themselves)

Hi Bryce,
Chapman, same origins as Chipman
from the Saxon, ceapan, (to buy or sell) Basically, a shopkeeper or worker at a marketplace stall. Sometimes used to describe a person who "negotiated" a decrease in an asking price, the Saxon word has evolved over the centuries to todays English word "cheapen"

I said that I hated my first name, but don´t hate my second one though, ;), if anyone is interested then it´s "Vuk", which simply translates "Wolf". Anyways, thanks. :)

:D Thanks!

No prob. At least your name sounds beautiful pronouncing wrong as well as saying it right, meh, half the world has problems pronouncing my first name... they all think its a french name so they pronounce it like "Deshaan" with a loooooooong "a". And then I have to spend 10 minutes helping them pronounce it right, and just for the sake of it they just WON´T call me by my other, more pronouncable, name: Vuk, which is said like this: Vook.

Arrhg, so that is why I pretty much hate my first name... :( Well anyways, soon I am 18 and that means I can remove or add other names.... *evil grin*
