Sometimes isolation was the best way to solve problems. A few days in her suite completely alone with no need to look presentable and no fear of hurting someone else. It had given her time to cry, to compose and to think. Eventually she had to interact, Vex had probably already fired her for disappearing for so long, and she really hadn't eaten anything worthwhile for a long time.

She'd managed to force herself to sleep for a while and she was presentable now. She'd probably spend the rest of the evening downstairs eating and playing through the more tolerable of the junk she'd attempted to write. First of course she'd have to check on the kitchen and take care of it, but that wouldn't bother her either.

She took the stairs down to the bar area, it seemed deserted when she arrived, but that was alright. Then she walked into the kitchen and started cataloging all the supplies to see what was needed, after she was done she'd eat a bite.

**there had been little activity to speak of lately. he wandered in from his spot on the balcony and out to the little ledge that hangs over the cliff face behind the balcony. he sets down the case he'd been carrying on his back since he returned to the club, opens it, and pulls out a violin and bow. he stands, sets the instrament in its place and begins to play a slow, haunting melody*

*Vex sat alone at the little kitchen table, thinking to himself. he watched, after being momentarily startled, as Traja Odj entered and began what looked like a taking of inventory. he decided that wasn't such a bad idea and let her procede...

After a few minutes of work a soft string melody came down from above. She really didn't need to look up, she could tell that it was too muffled to be coming from the kitchen anyway, but she looked up anyway. There at the kitchen table was Vex, sitting there and watching her. When she met his eyes he smiled slightly and she forced a pleasant smile in return.

"Hello Vex, were you going to sit there and watch as I dug through the entire kitchen? The view isn't really all that great. You'd probably be better off watching football."

I was, thank you...*big smile*

From my point of view, the view is really quite enjoyable. Please, do carry on...

"Fine. I'm a musician, I'll never complain about an audience."

With slightly more exaggerated movements she finished off her checklist. Apparently there hadn't been much cooking going on, almost nothing else was gone from the shelves. There was literally nothing that was low enough that a trip needed to be made to get it. She had a few things on the list to watch, but that was it.

She walked over to the fridge and posted her notes on the fridge. She certainly hoped that Vex was enjoying the exaggerated movement she was putting in. She didn't just do that for anyone...

*Vex watched his protege sashay across the room, this way and that, more in dance mode than work mode*

*it turned out to be quite a show and Vex patted himself on the back for hiring the talented, young Traja Odj to share his kitchen*

The kitchen was clean, the inventory was dealt with, and she was hungry. Vex was probably technically off duty and she hadn't seen much lying around ready to serve with heating so she'd probably just have to grab some crackers and cheese or something. That's what she got for planning to eat late at night without any time to cook something up. She thought about where everything was and went straight to the pantry. Vex probably wouldn't ever use the crackers anyway...

I'd be more than happy to cook you something, TO.

"As much as I love your cooking, I'm afraid I do need to go to sleep soon. I wouldn't want to cramp your style by imposing a ten minute limit on your cooking and baking. I'll be fine with a few crackers."

"I hope I see you tomorrow Vex, but now it's time for bed. Night." She headed up the stairs and walked up. She wished for a moment that things could be different, but it didn't matter what she wished. The world was the way the world was. She'd survive.
